I absolutely loved my stay here in Matanzas. The hosts were very welcoming and responsive; the last night I had in Matanzas, we stayed up talking, drinking and they even offered me dinner. Even though the country is facing electrical issues, I only experienced two outages in my stay and they did not last longer than an hour. It did not interfere with any of my plans or cause me any real issues. The house was very clean and comfortable. There was minor noise from the street at night, but that is expected in a town of over 100,000 people. The town itself was clean and safe, and was a nice change of pace from La Habana. Overall, I had a wonderful experience staying here and I hope to return next year. 5/5 stars it felt like luxury after staying in hostels my first week.

Bei Evelyn und Pepe erlebten wir herzliche und großzügige Gastfreundschaft und ein Appartement, das für uns als Selbstversorger perfekt war. Bequeme Betten, moderne, leise Klimaanlage, sauberes Bad, gut ausgestattete Küche, traumhafte Terrasse mit Naturschatten und Schaukelstühlen, nette und interessante Gespräche.... wir fühlten uns außerordentlich willkommen und umsorgt! Mit den begrenzten Mitteln, die Cuba bietet, tun die Gastgeber alles, damit man sich wohlfühlt. Fragt die beiden einfach, wo in der Nachbarschaft welche Lebensmittel verkauft werden. Es gibt sehr guten, selbstgemachten Joghurt (Natur, Kokos, Erdbeere...), Brötchen, Eier, Obst und Gemüse und im Laden Kaffee, Milchpulver, Nudeln... So kann man sich relativ unkompliziert etwas Gutes in der Küche zubereiten. Nette und günstige Cafeterias gibt es aber auch in der Nachbarschaft. Evelyn und Pepe sind Naturwissenschaftler und in lokalen Umweltschutzprojekten engagiert, die sie gerne vorstellen (Schutz der Dünen und Mangroven, Museums- und Umweltpädagogik). Je weiter links vom Land aus gesehen, desto schöner und naturnaher der Strand, der täglich gesäubert wird. Ganz herzlichen Dank nochmal!!!

We had a terrific time at Gabriel and Nelson's place in guanabo. Due to the island-wide power outage, we couldn't communicate our arrival time, but Nelson was waiting for us to let us in and give us a thorough tour - not only of the house, but of the immediate neighbourhood - showed us where to buy drinking water, food, etc. Even made us fried plantains and taught us some new versions of dominos, and enjoyed a cultural and language exchange. We loved the peaceful yard (tranquilo) with many beautiful fruit trees and local birds and gatos. We enjoyed wandering the town and trying the local restaurants and exploring the beach.

Aymara place is a total paradise, she and her team are amazing if you travel to Cuba please go to her place, clean peaceful a lot of space all the bedroom are private and has its own bedroom . I just can't say enough good things for Aymara she is super friendly and a dedicated person. I recommend this place to everyone you won't be disappointed. Thanks Aymara for so many good things ,I will be back for sure you are an amazing host.

Alles wie beschrieben. Hector und Rosa waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und wir 4 haben uns super wohl gefühlt. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt bei euch.

I had a most amazing eight full days at Melissa’s place. It is clean, big enough for two people and very close to a beautiful beach. Location is very good, best to buy Hop on Hop off bus to go around all day in Varadero for 5 USD. Center of Varadero is about 10 min by bus or 40 min walk. There are many restaurants of various ranges of prices. Electricity in Varadero was steady, as was water, but there are shortages of bread and food if you plan to cook. If you are easy and can go on one or two meals a day, there is always tortilla with eggs, coffee and water in bottles. Best to pay is in USD, or Euro. Canadian dollar is ok but not as much. Melissa was away but kept in touch and her father was super helpful and speaks great English. Kitchen is small and not equipped with cook staples so keep that in mind. Yard is small but adorable and shared with wonderful people who rent next door. They helped me a lot. For Cuban standards this place is lovely. If you love Cuba , 🇨🇺 go there! 🇨🇺💜

Awesome place. The service we were provided was exceptional, multiple staff visited us in person throughout the stay to make sure we had everything was needed. They were always very prompt to meet our needs and went above and beyond with their service.

Il mio soggiorno è stato indimenticabile! La casa è moderna, ben arredata e con uno stile europeo che la rende davvero speciale. La presenza di piccole comodità, come la macchina Nespresso, ha reso il soggiorno ancora più confortevole e piacevole. La vista sulla baia è mozzafiato, inoltre il suono delle onde che si infrangono sugli scogli sottostanti la casa è qualcosa di veramente rilassante. La casa era impeccabilmente pulita e ben equipaggiata, con ogni dettaglio pensato per offrire il massimo del comfort. Ogni mattina la colazione preparata a mano dalla famiglia dell'host è stata una vera delizia, con piatti freschi e ricchi! Consiglio vivamente questa struttura a chi cerca un posto tranquillo, confortevole e con una vista incredibile. È stata un'esperienza che non dimenticherò facilmente
