Our family had such a wonderful experience! The home is so spacious, cool historic decor, clean, and beautiful property surrounding. Everywhere you look is beautiful scenery including the gorgeous horses and donkeys. Clear instructions and the communication with the host was excellent. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience for our family and will absolutely stay there again in the future!

Stayed here for several weeks while working at Fort Barfoot and enjoyed everything about this home - great location, comfy beds and cozy space! Julie was a great host, helpful and quick to respond if I ever needed anything. Enough space for the whole family, quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Highly recommend

This location was beautiful. It was located 30 minutes outside of Farmville. With 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths it was perfect for a large get together.

After some initial confusion on a busy graduation weekend, we enjoyed staying in Patricia’s property. The host was responsive and accommodating, and helped smooth over some check in confusion promptly. This as a good home base for us with our six year and old and dog for our nephews graduation. We are frequently in Farmville with a child and a dog and will look for Patricia’s properties to rent in the future.

Amy was an incredible host. It was our birthday/anniversary weekend and she made it very special in every possible way. We will be returning again and again!!! love this place!!!!

This is truly a gem of an airbnb! The landscape is absolutely beautiful for starters. There is so much outdoor things to do (sit by the fire, read on the swing/outdoor chairs, pool, hottub). The pool area has bluetooth speaker capability, which enhances the experience of chillin at the pool. Rebecca was incredibly responsive. I would definitely come back here!

I stayed in the cabin on the river, I must say it was probably the best few days I’ve ever had. Such a beautiful and peaceful set up, not to mention the farm as a whole was amazing. I will definitely be back!

A wonderful week with my mom, teen son, and two dogs! I could gaze at that view forever. The staff are so friendly, the animals are a ton of fun, and the scenery is unforgettable. We fed the animals, walked a lot, and made great meals in the well-equipped kitchen. I slept great and didn’t even mind the pigs waking me up at sunrise. The built-in stair gates were a helpful surprise for keeping the dogs contained, and they loved the two large fenced yard areas. We also took a couple hours to visit Appomattox Court House and James River State Park—both well worth it. I look forward to another trip to Altamont Farm!

Dan communicated well and was very accommodating. The house was very close to a wedding we attended which made our travel day with a toddler possible. The house was tidy and fit our needs.

It was easy to find, bed is super comfortable and the whole place is an amazing experience with amazing views, we should have stayed longer so next time we will add more days but was well worth it, we had some internet issues but Dan helped resolve it within and hour of contacting them. It was a truly unique experience somewhere quiet and relaxing, our pups loved the fenced in yard.

if you are looking for peace and solitude, this location is for you! My wife and I loved it. Rugged territory to be sure, but just so incredibly peaceful. No traffic noise, no close neighbors, no barking dogs, no sirens. We hope to go back to the area in the fall for the fall foliage. The caretaker Gabriel was great. He is pleasant and helpful. I'm glad he had transporation to get us back to the campsite because I couldn't have hiked back. The sleeping arrangements were comfortable and the tent is very spacious. Tammy was responsive to all of my questions and gave us great info and directions. Thanks for hosting us.

We recently stayed at this property for a night as we are in the market for a home and wanted to assess its condition firsthand. After reading a negative review, we were initially hesitant, but we decided to see for ourselves—and we are so glad we did. The home was impeccably clean and well-maintained, with every detail thoughtfully cared for. From the spotless floors to the fresh linens, it was clear that cleanliness is a top priority here. The space felt inviting and comfortable, and we had a wonderful, scenic stay. It was a breath of fresh air - literally! Surrounded by nature everywhere. Our experience was nothing short of excellent, and we would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for a nature getaway and well-kept place to stay.

PERFECT off-grid experience! So quiet and serene. Ran into a hiccup in the beginning but Dan was on it and fixed it immediately. So, please rest assure- he wont leave you hanging. I normally hate outhouses but theirs were so clean. It's not the type where you can see everyone else's "business". There is a CLEAN, new, fresh garbage bag for your stay so you'll only see your "stuff". The cedar chips, to place on top of your stuff prevents the funk. Just be aware that you cant lock the door as the Airstream DOES NOT lock from the inside. Thankfully, it is secluded and we didnt have any problems with unwanted guest. We enjoyed every bit of this experience! We are so thankful for Dan, who was so attentive during our stay. BTW: You should consider renting the Main Farmhouse. It was amazing as well!
