Our 2 story house is nestled in a private bushy street, with amazing views of the Derwent River, South Hobart, Sandy Bay & beyond. The home is spacious and private, yet surrounded by (harmless) local wildlife. You will see many wallabies grazing on the property.

Carlton River Escape

Carlton River Escape was completed in 2023 and built as a peaceful hide away retreat on the back 50 acres of our property. It is nestled right beside our Swift Parrot Conservation Forest area which also shares it space with our local wallabies, wombats, echidnas, pademelons, possums, and eagles. Amid the fresh Tassie air, and the incredible forest views, you will feel completely relaxed listening to the sounds of the wildlife while enjoying the luxury of a secluded brand new home.

Experience the magic of a tiny house set amongst a grove of gum trees beside a creek around the bend from an isolated beach in a little-known corner of Tasmania. Our place between Hobart and Port Arthur is aprox 45 mins from Hobart CBD and 35 mins from the airport. You will need your own transport as there are no taxis, Uber or Bus services to Primrose. Stunning views over Frederick Henry Bay to Mount Wellington and across Norfolk Bay towards Port Arthur. Enjoy the cosy wood heater in the spacious open plan living area. Keep an eye on the sky as Tasmania never ceases to amaze with its spectacular sunsets.

Using the shack as your base, no matter which direction you choose to venture, there’s an array of experiences and activities to explore, 20 min to Hobart Airport, 40 min to Hobart, gateway to Richmond, East Coast, Port Arthur and the Tasman Peninsula. Come drift for a while.
