Shepherd's Hut, Off-Grid, Hot Tub and Beacons View

A 'Tiny House', off-grid Shepherd's Hut with panoramic views of the spectacular Brecon Beacons. Accessed by its own gated lane and set in a private paddock, "Oliveduck Hut" is the perfect retreat for couples, or singles who prefer their own company. An ideal ‘base camp’ as you explore the National Park and surrounding area. Light a fire and get lazy, chill out in the hottub, star-gaze at the incredible night skies, or just take in the majestic Pen y Fan as you plan (or recover from) your ascent.

The Lodge is set in a one acre site enclosed by a 5ft high wall, and away from the main road providing a safe, relaxing and quiet environment. The Lodge is well placed, within 10 minutes of The National show caves for Wales, Henrhyd waterfall and the hugely impressive Four Waterfalls country. In addition, if you want to get high, the property is located only 15 minutes from Zip World and 30 minutes from Pen Y Fan. If you prefer beaches we are 30 minutes from Swansea bay and the Mumbles.

Step aboard The Toad, a beautifully restored 1921 GWR brake van (AKA Toad Wagon), once a vital part of post-war goods trains. Weighing 20 tons and brimming with original rustic features, this historic wagon offers characterful self-catering accommodation with a touch of luxury. We’re set at the foot of the Brecon Beacons National park. We welcome couples, families, groups of 4, and of course pets. 🐶 We’ve added a little bit of luxury to our ‘cottage in the hills’ setting with the addition of our beautiful hot tub. Our location is surrounded by fantastic walks, rivers, waterfalls, and a pub 100yds from the front door. After a day out enjoying the fresh air, why not come home to a private dip in the hot tub, and a snooze in front of the log burner.
