Great warm place to stay. Felt right at home.

Nice and quite place. Near to the CBD. This place is ideal for big family and groups. We live in NZ, however, there were people in our group visiting us from overseas they felt very comfortable. I’d love stay here again, highly recommended.

Gorgeous house and super welcoming family. Perfect base to explore the area.

We booked this very last minute over Easter weekend. Excellent communications, lovely home, very clean, fantastic location. Has bike storage and great laundry options. BBQ and kitchen were great for hosting an Easter dinner with some local friends.

The check-in time was 4 PM, but due to our flight schedule, we asked if we could check in earlier at 3 PM. Dino kindly agreed. The place was clean and tidy, with a private bathroom located outside the room. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to walk from the airport to the house.

Mr. Fernando and his family were very welcoming and polite. The house is in nice and calm neighborhood, with easy access to bus station. If I ever find myself in Auckland again, I wouldn’t hesitate to contact Mr. Fernando again.

We hebben het prima naar ons zin gehad in het huis van Guillaume. Prima gastheer en liet ons na alle noodzakelijke info ook weer makkelijk ons gang gaan. Met Guillaume en het huis kregen we weer meer vertrouwen in het bij iemand in huis verblijven. Want we hebben ook wel mindere ervaringen daarmee. We houden van privacy en dat biedt Guillaume. Sociaal contact is fijn en noodzakelijk maar je wil ook ruimte voor jezelf ervaren. Hier was er precies het goede evenwichtig! In zo’n geval is een verblijf in zo’n mooi en huiselijk huis zoveel meer waard dan in een onpersoonlijk hotel!

It was a lovely place with great views, I didn't stay long because i was out and about but the communication and accommodation was amazing.

If you’re adventurous and enjoy unique places, then like us, you’ll love this place!Thankfully for us the weather cleared the afternoon we arrived and we had fantastic views of the mountains and surrounding areas. Some persistent stoking of the hot tub paid off and a good relaxing soak in steaming hot water as the clouds rolled in and rain started in the late evening was beautiful!

Tim was a great host, very communicative and greeted us upon our arrival to Mt Lyford to show us the lay of the land.  Mt Lyford is an idyllic location to really escape, simplistic 'mountain style living', surrounded by walks (for all levels) with panoramic views from Kaikoura to Hanmer Springs. There are also mountain bike tracks and a small lake to cool off on a summer's day. We stayed in the Mt Stella Hut with loft style sleeping arrangements. We were fortunate to have the grounds completely to ourselves, however there is a shared kitchen, living room and bathroom area for all cabins within the Hut/chalet. Highly recommend to all! From singles, groups and families, long stays or short. You won't be disappointed with this beautiful piece of country. *Would highly recommend taking Tim's offer for a shuttle, unless you own four wheel drive and are comfortable driving mountain roads. ** There is reception on Mt Lyford, depending on your server you my need to do a lap on the grounds to find it. Wi-fi is great!

Summer or winter, this alpine setting has ALOT to offer. We made the most of the landscape by hiking, biking and animal spotting. We enjoyed the hot tub and watching the stars emerge without any light pollution.

I would highly recommend staying at Chas’s beautiful place if you are looking for somewhere beautiful & relaxing to get away from the rat race. The spectacular views were amazing
