This quaint, quiet and remarkably cozy cabin was a perfect weekend retreat! We stayed two nights and really enjoyed everything this cabin had to offer. The kitchen allowed us to cook breakfast every morning and pack a lunch for walking the state park only about a mile down the road. Watching the pelicans swim down the Mississippi was morning entertainment from the porch chairs. The relaxing jacuzzi tub was a special treat every evening as we watched our favorite show from the outdoor tv. This cabin was well equipped, decorated thoughtfully and tastefully and provided us with a relaxing get-away! In addition, Pauline was quick to deliver a new coffee maker when the one we had wouldn’t work! Thank you very much for allowing us to stay at your slice of Heaven!

Recently stayed here for a long girl's weekend and it far exceeded our expectations! There were 4 of us and we each had our own bedroom AND bathroom which is really hard to find. The kitchen and dining room are spacious and the living room super comfy - we spent our evenings there just chatting and hanging out. You can tell that Andrew and Sara put a lot of thought and effort into decorating the space to give it a very cozy and inviting vibe. Lots of extra touches - the soft linens, sound machine in each bedroom, cute decor. We definitely intend on another girl's trip to Galena and plan to stay in this house again. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed staying at Alexandras place! This placed is stocked up with anything you can imagine! Alexandra was very flexible with our group and was very welcoming! We will definitely coming back in the summer to enjoy this cabin, truly a beautiful place to come relax and spend time with family or friends :)

A beautiful home for a weekend getaway! Bedrooms are roomy, plenty of closet space, the view & very peaceful. Not too close and not too far from everyrhing, distance is just right, what more could you ask for? If this is available when you need to visit the area do not hesitate just book it! Communication with Tracy was easy and she was very quick to respond. Top Notch!!!

The house was even better than the photos. Beds and linens were wonderful and very comfortable. Lots of room for our family of six. Tons of outdoor toys and equipment for the kids and adults alike. We had a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. From swimming at the clubhouse, viewing the stars with s’mores in the amazing fire pit area, hiking at Apple Canyon, shopping downtown, we did it all! Hosts were very responsive. The hubs & I were looking for a quiet place to have some down time for a few days. This cabin was perfect. Quiet & private location, hot tub, great amenities that made staying in easy & local options if we wanted to venture out.

Fabulous find! Very spacious with multiple ways to enjoy the beautiful surroundings from the hot tub, outdoor dining table, or fire pit. Main Street was just a quick drive away and Andrea was prompt and responsive to our questions.

We had such a relaxing time here. The cabin was clean and felt even bigger than the pictures. We brought our 3 kids and it didn’t feel cramped at all. There were toys for them to play with and they loved having the basketball hoop outside too. Great little getaway for our family.

Book this property immediately! If you’re looking for a remote, peaceful property this is your spot. We loved exploring the property and land. Plenty of wildlife and farm animals to observe in the area. The sky is crazy clear at night. Great star gazing and an awesome porch to sip your coffee out on. Extremely clean and well stocked. Also not much to have to do on the “clean up” list during checkout which is always nice when you’re trying to get out the door with littles. In the area often and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Phil is so kind and clearly loves hosting guests and helping them feel at home. Cool decor, too!

Our family absolutely loved this place. Enough space for everything, beautiful home. The best part was the setting, quiet and peaceful. We were able to enjoy coffee outside in the morning and watch the deer in the fields. We would absolutely love to stay here again. Great recommendations and Corey left some local items for us to try. Perfect stay!

Steve’s cottage was perfect for our overnight getaway! We were able to grill, enjoy a fire and just soak in the serenity of the beautiful lake! Met our needs perfectly and would highly recommend!

I booked very last-minute for a little birthday getaway and I was so blown away! The location and views were stunning and peaceful, the cabin itself is so charming, you can tell they thought about all the details (wood stove, record player, books, all the little touches!). Loved walking around the trail and seeing all kinds of fun wildlife and plants popping up. Having wine and relaxing on the deck was a little piece of heaven. The sauna is such a cool setup. Couldn't recommend more highly, I will be back with friends and family in the future!

Awesome little place. In my opinion the pictures don’t show how close you are to the road. Makes it look secluded but there are other houses really close as well. One other thing to mention is the water is really hard and smells of chlorine. The hot water also runs out super fast. These are the things that I didn’t really like, but nothing could be done to fix these which I understand. Brian was really responsive and checked in with us multiple times. The location as far as distance was great! Close to Apple River Canyon!

We loved the house and especially the screened in porch area.

Warm and welcoming hosts - so nice to have a kind note, lights on, and chocolates and wine waiting for us (although we did not partake in the wine - but loved the intent behind it). Definitely hunting cabin vibes -- we are so jealous and wish we had this type of accommodation for when we go hunting. Another nice thing: we weren't asked to strip sheets, run the dishwasher, wash towels and take out the garbage like so many other Airbnbs (what's the point of the cleaning fee if the guest has to do half the work?). All that was asked was to put used towels in a pile on the floor - so appreciate that when we have to depart for an early morning flight. Thanks John and Kitty - if we are ever in the area in the future, we will be sure to book again.

rustic remote cabin close to Cambridge & park small yet roomy accommodations with clean comfortable furniture & beds

Great cabin in the woods. Rustic and quiet, but accessible. Jason was great and his recommendations were spot on!

I was looking for a spot to stay near Cascade, so I could take my kids skiing for the first time. I can't imagine there are many options as close as this cabin. It is 3 miles from the Cascade parking lot. The space is pretty new, and there is just about everything a hotel room would provide plus the kitchenette. It also has a cooktop I didn't use. We were there when it was sub 5 degrees overnight and the whole space stayed warm. I didn't expect too many amenities, but they provided towels, bedding, bars of soap, extras of everything. It was a great stay and the kids loved it.

Had an amazing stay at the A-frame. It was so peaceful and relaxing and exactly what we wanted with our stay. Coffee on the deck in the morning and cookouts at the fire pit were some of the highlights of this trip. Alice was extremely responsive and provided reccommendations of things to do in the area. Elizabeth is a short distance from Galena and we were able to explore both areas (definitely look into the Goat Trek, Highway 20 Brewing, & Massbach Winery). Overall, this house was beautiful, clean, and has everything we could ever want. It was the perfect getaway from Chicago and allowed us to recharge. Definitely look into staying here if you want a quiet, quaint, and peaceful trip - you won’t regret it!
