Barbrook's Victorian chapel & school flourished for many years, but when we came to live here in 1998 the building needed careful repair and a new use. We fell in love with this place and project, slowly converting it into a large, comfy, and hospitable home for our family and friends to enjoy. A second floor apartment with views over the river to the sea. Clifton House is nestled in the heart of Lynmouth and is steeped in history, as the local Post Office it played a central part in the Louisa Lifeboat Overland Launch in 1899 and also the devastating flood of 1952. The doorway of Crocombe's shop, underneath Clifton House, has a plaque showing the height the flood waters reached.
Doctors Ford. Doctors Ford is a unique, comfortable home from home cottage. Nestling in the Doone Valley overlooking the East Lyn River. With its own off road parking, secluded garden and terrace. The cottage is well situated for walking, fishing, horse riding and exploring the Exmoor National Park also being in a designated Dark Sky area, ideal for star gazing.
