Mary went above and beyond to accommodate The cabin is adorable with lots of nice touches, and the outdoors areas are simply amazing. The closet kitchen is well supplied . We actually cooked all but two meals during our week-long stay. The bed is very comfortable. I highly recommend "The Bear's Den" for your stay in the Franklin, NC area.

Adorable & freshly renovated cabin located in a private wooded community between Highlands and Franklin in the Nantahala National Forest. Our light & airy cabin is nestled on almost 4 acres of woodsy, mountainous terrain and is private and picturesque, yet still convenient to town. We love relaxing on the front porch, surrounded by nature and enjoying the sounds of the streams & views of the mountains. It is a peaceful cabin to relax & enjoy the cool breezes and scenery of the Smoky Mountains.

Tiny Home Mountain Adventure+HotTub+Fire Pit+Grill

We can't adequately describe how peaceful it is to sit at the picnic table & listen to the wind through the trees or the birds serenade as the sky turns pink & purple over the Smoky Mountains. We purposely tucked our adorable Tiny Home into the woods to achieve the peaceful retreat you're looking for. You'll feel like the "Little Red Riding Hood" skipping through the woods as you escape the "Big Bad Wolf" of technology and stress. Evenings around the Firepit w/the stars are simply magical!

Mateo 39D at Nantahala Weddings & Events - no pets

The Mateos (named after our architect’s little son) are 4 small and separate bungalows with eye-popping views of Lake Nantahala and the Smoky Mountains through an 8-foot sliding glass door. Each Mateo has a queen size bed, private bath, ac/heat, and a kitchenette with a Keurig coffeemaker, 4.4 cu. ft. refrigerator with freezer, air fryer, microwave, tableware, and glassware for two people. The Mateos are not handicap-accessible. Pets are never allowed – 39D is a pet-free space ($200 penalty).

Catamount Cottage Studio across from WCU!

Catamount Cottage is a quaint retreat for either a single traveler or a couple. Located less than 1/2 mile from WCU and a 15-minute drive from downtown Sylva, it's perfect for work or play! This modern studio cottage is situated on a private drive in a residential area. The kitchenette, with granite countertops and an eat-in bar, has all of the amenities you might need. If there is work to do, you can utilize the dedicated high-speed internet and work from the bar-top or on the front deck.

Set on 3/4 of an acre, in a neighborhood setting, surrounded by beautiful trees and a small creek you can listen to while enjoying your morning coffee on the covered deck. This well-equipped cabin is only 3 miles to downtown Franklin (8 minute drive). There is also a Walmart just two miles away. Close to many activities including white water rafting, hiking, biking, waterfalls and scenic drives. 30 minutes to Highlands for great shopping & Dry Falls!

Speckled Trout on the Tuck (Tuckasegee River)

Nearly new Park Model Cabin located on the banks of the Tuckasegee River, one of the best trout streams in NC! There is an easy access off Hwy. 107 S, about 5 miles from Cullowhee. It is close to many parks for hikiing and biking and lakes for boating and fishing. It has an all wood interior with a screened porch, picnic table , fire pit and charcoal grill. There is a nice walkway down to the river. Enjoy fishing, swimming and boating at this nice escape!
