We were visiting family nearby and were so pleased with this home. It was quirky and full of character. The secure garden was perfect and everything was so neat and proper. It had excellent facilities and the little touches like coffee, tea and milk were perfect. The fact that dogs are allowed was very welcoming and kind. The only thing was the main road was quite loud but just bring some ear plugs and you’ll be absolutely fine. It’s worth it for this property which has everything you could need in a very beautiful village. We would 100% return if we came back to the area.

The property was very clean and spacious with all the comforts of home. Lovely and warm, it helped coming back after a day's hiking. Also, the parking was easy to use, but further car parking available in a couple of local car parks. We couldn't fault the property in any way, would definitely stay there again if visiting the area. Thanks to Claire and the team for making this a memorable stay.

This was a beautiful place to stay. We instantly felt at home when we walked through the front door. The place has everything you need and feels spacious. There is plenty of storage for clothes and hangers which is lovely. Emma is so helpful. I asked a few questions before my stay and she was so helpful and quick to get back to me. Emma is very honest on the listing about the road traffic noise which we found very helpful. We knew what to expect. It might be helpful to know that the traffic is a mixture of cars and HGVs and that it does continue in the night although with less frequency. But it doesn’t detract from what is a beautiful home and a very peaceful stay!!

I'm not sure what to say that already hasn't. We have just had an absolutely lovely Easter weekend at Michelle and Johns wonderful cottage. The place is thoughtfully decorated throughout and has a very homely feeling to it. Everything was modern and spotlessly clean with thoughtful little touches like dog towels, grocery essentials and soaps. The location is very peaceful but find yourself a mere five minute walk to the centre of Marsden and all it has to offer. Having stayed at many Airbnb rentals, this is without doubt equally one of the best and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone considering staying. We will be returning to Marsden and hope we will be able to stay once again as it ticks all boxes. We didn't have the pleasure of meeting in person but Michelle and John's communication was so quick and could not have been more friendly and helpful.

Amazing place, great location near some lovely walks and pubs. Hot tub was brilliant and kids managed to swim in river !

We had a Lovely stay, i thought it could of been a Boutique hotel the place was lovely, the decor was delightful, the mix of modern and vintage i loved, the outdoor space for the dog was great, we couldnt fault this house, i loved the open space in the kitchen diner, the location was great , The Loaf bakery round the corner was amazing, and we didnt have to travel far to get to anywhere like matlock.and the tramway round the corner, we will be staying again, Thank you for a Lovely stay.

Emma is a great host she dealt with an issue early on extremely quickly and professionally, the cottage is a wonderful place to chill and relax with breathtaking views which all of the family enjoyed to look at, my daughter coming home said she wants to come back again which I’m sure we will!

We had an amazing stay, Claire's had everything we could possibly need & more! Location was great, a 1 minute walk to the local pub which was really friendly & great for quiz night on a Wednesday! A 20 minute walk into Holmfirth for a choice of lovely coffee shops & places to eat! Plenty of walks & bike rides straight out of the house! Thank you for having us & thank you so much for all the tasty treats!

Perfect for our weekend. The accommodation was perfect, in fact we were taken back with how there cupboards were full off useful things…. Condiments, sauces, toiletries and that’s just a few I can mention. Appreciated the milk, bread, butter, nice gesture and makes a difference to some places who don’t offer that. Host also helped us out when our car broke down whilst we were there and went above and beyond to help sort it out for us. Overall the place was lovely, more than I actually expected, clean, tidy and perfect. Would definitely stay again if ever visiting Wigan. Thank you

I’ve stayed at this property several times now as I needed to be back near my childhood home. Any issues are always sorted very promptly and it has been literally a home from home for me. Thank you so much. I’ve loved each time I’ve stayed at the Old Red King.

Charlotte was a fantastic host! She greeted us as soon as we arrived, and everything was perfectly prepared for our stay in this lovely place. We had a private space with a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. During the day, we worked from the apartment, and in the evenings, we enjoyed walks. There are plenty of beautiful natural spots just a 20–30 minute drive from the town.

well what can I say! we will definitely be back! this had everything you needed not just the hot tub, pool table and the wonderful balcony area but we were surprised to walk in to snacks, drinks stocked and an abundance of house hold items! everything was spotlessly clean with clear instructions on all appliances! we also walked in to see they had decorated for our anniversary (we were celebrating 11 years and a 1 year countdown to our wedding) this place will hold alot of wonderful memories and can't wait to come back one day! Lisa and Wass your place and yourselves are amazing!

Perfect little place for our hiking trip to the peaks, comfortable, homely and clean. Would definitely stay here again! Jason and Kim responded super quick to any questions and were very accommodating!!
