The Bakoni Hide-Away, Schoemanskloof

The Bakoni Hide-Away is an off-the-grid retreat, ideal for a romantic getaway for lovers of the African bush. Unfenced, it is set on a remote spot on the side of a mountain with abundant birdlife, buck and other game around. The design was inspired by the many stone circles that occur in this region and the Bakoni people who are believed to have roamed the area in the past. It is ideal for couples and 2 older children can be accommodated on the mezzanine floor if privacy is not a requirement.

Thatched and built from stone the cottage offers stunning views into a verdant garden and over a farm dam. Everything on the property, from the food we grow to how we live, work and generate electricity is based on being environmentally sustainable. The base rate is for 2 people. Additional guests after the first 2 will be charged an additional rate per person per night. Thula Sana is a private lodge in Mjejane Game Reserve. Tranquility at its best, lounge on the patio and watch the elephants go by or enjoy a sundowner in the loft and gaze into the game reserve. This is the place to be to relax and unwind in the bush. The lodge has a gym and swimming pool. There is also a study with a place to work, and a bookcase with books to read.
