Welcome to our home: where we have found peace and relaxation for over 20 years. A German native, Big R fell in love with the open land and rolling hills of Wisconsin, becoming a US citizen in the 80s. He met Curly, a Chicago city girl, who brought a little city to his country life. They enjoy raising buffalo and spending warmer days on their porch enjoying the fresh air and beautiful views (with no mosquitos!). Now they want to share their idyllic and peaceful home with you. Drive down a dead-end road and pull up to a rustic cabin filled with high-tech and cozy amenities. We have something for everyone with a gas fireplace, tv (complete with dish, Cinemax, HBO and a Bluetooth sound system), board games and a full kitchen. Take a drink outside to soak in the hot tub or sit around the campfire. When the day is done, you will fall asleep instantly on the memory foam bed, either in the loft or the bedroom, and wake up to a beautiful sunrise looking out over your little getaway.

Cabin on the Trail

Kick back and relax in this cozy space with up north, cabin vibes. In the summer months enjoy the excellent fishing and boating and in the winter have fun ice fishing on beautiful Fox Lake! *Please read the full description and look at all of the pictures of the property *Not suitable for parties or loud gatherings. Please note, there is a 4 person maximum *All dogs/pets must be pre-approved by the host. There is a $50 pet fee/stay. *Check out our “cottage on the trail”, closer to the lake.

This 1940s barn has been lovingly converted into a comfortable living space with modern features and amenities, making it the perfect retreat for a romantic getaway or a peaceful escape from the city. Inside, the bones of the barn are present. From beams and rafters on the main level to the tall, gable barn ceiling. Just imagine all the different ways the barn had been used over time.

The "loft" upstairs has 2 bedrooms, 1 with 2 twin beds , & the other space with a queen size bed and a reading area that opens up to your own private balcony.

Feel free to explore the woods taking a hike on the network of trails. Nearby you can visit winery's, Wildcat Mountain State Park, the Kickapoo Valley Reserve and more. The Tumbled Rock Microbrewery/Restaurant has live music during the summer, which you can view from the front porch. The cabin boasts a huge backyard that your family & friends will enjoy.
