We absolutely loved our stay here! It was a perfect location to the ski hills yet a very quiet setting that we could relax after a day at the slopes. The house was a perfect size and layout for our group, decorated very nicely, and had great amenities; hot tub, sauna, comfortable choices, and a great sized kitchen stocked with all the essentials.

A perfect cozy cabin for a weekend get away. Above and beyond when it comes to accommodations. The game room was a blast and the hot tub was so relaxing. We enjoyed every minute of our stay!

All I can say is WOW!!!! The property was even more beautiful in person. It was absolutely gorgeous. Katy really has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. It's luxury in a secluded slice of heaven. The property was meticulous. Everything was chosen with care and attention to detail. From the linens, the pillows, the towels...to the supplies in the kitchen. The coffee bar was great. The welcome basket was wonderful with a personalized note. The games, the kayaks and paddle boards and the views!! Just outstanding! All the lighting details..the bonfire pit..the outdoor furniture. Even our dog was thought of providing towels, bowls, poop bags. Katy was wonderful to work with. She was very clear and detailed with instructions and ideas on places to eat, things to do, you name it. She was very responsive and you could tell she really cared about our stay. The hot tub was a bonus!! Even the bathroom was gorgeous!!! We LOVED our stay!!!

Our stay at Dorene and John’s was perfect! We traveled the half hour to ski at Nub’s and enjoyed being in the private atmosphere of the cabin. The hot tub topped it all off! We didn’t want to leave!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Utensils in the kitchen, board games to play as well as comfortable beds to sleep in. The hot tub was an absolute must, and it didn’t disappoint! Kimberly was quick to respond to any questions, and when the weather was too dangerous to travel in on our morning of check out, she allowed us to stay another night to make sure we could travel safe. Highly recommend! We will be returning!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. One of the cleanest and well kept rentals we’ve ever stayed in! Attention to design and detail was appreciated. Kyle was very responsive to our messages when we needed help. Seemed that since we visited off season, less activity around town, but still enjoyed our time. Wish we had realized the State Park was closed still from the ice storm. It was disappointing, but we took a lot of Kyle’s recommendations in his guidebook at the cabin for local spots to hike and walk with our dog. Wish we had been able to try more restaurants, many sounded delicious. Our first visit to northern Michigan, Petoskey must be a busy place in the summer! Would suggest if you visit during less busy months to research ahead and see what is going on and open around town so you know what to expect.

The property is as in the photos, very spacious in the inside. Right on the water, only a minute or two from downtown Ely, but worlds away from the City. Nice setting, plenty of room for all in your group. Multiple levels, built to enjoy being on the lake, so many nice touches, and the kitchen is well stocked, with plenty of glasses/plates and everything required to feel at home. Plenty of towels! Hot tub is in a private setting! Second floor is reached by open stairway, includes an open area overlooking first floor, that includes conversation area with futon, and large bedroom with great view of sunrise and attached bathroom with shower and large jetted tub. We were just two, and felt comfortably together, larger groups will not feel crowded, and two cars can park in the garage, and they provide two remote garage door openers, so you do not have to get out of your car to open or close the garage door. Truly is like having your own place in the woods, if you were a millionaire!

We had a great time at this AirBnb!!! So peaceful and quiet, an amazing weekend getaway. We loved looking at the stars and watching the sunrises and sunsets right from the cozy warm cabin, listening to the wood stove crackling. We were very glad we remembered snow shoes, it was quite the hike in! It added to the private atmosphere.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Eric and Jenny’s cabin. Looking forward to next time!

My Husband and I absolutely loved the cabin. It was a great small spacious place for just the two of us. It was very clean while taking care of.. we actually added two more stays and she was very nice and responsive. Absolutely love the place and will be returning when we go back up there.

Beautiful spot, friendly owners. could be mentioned in the listing that you have to share the amenities with the other cabins. Area was beautiful the beach was great.

I do not give five stars often. to me five stars means perfect, and this was perfect for my wife and I. We have country dogs that need space, we like it quiet, and this gave us that. The trails, the wildlife, and the lake all give the feel that you are at your own private resort. The cabin was Goldy Locks might say, "just right."

Great host, the cinnamon bread is the best! Awesome secluded place in the woods, super quite and highly recommend it!

We really enjoyed our stay! Loved the cottage and the Lake. We made good use of the paddle boat, the fire pit and the fireplace. The fall colors were gorgeous- reflecting in the lake at sunrise and sunset and the privacy and peacefulness of the area was just what we needed. Ian was super responsive and helpful. we would love to come back!!

Everything is just as described. Perfect place to disconnect from the world. Craig is an amazing host! I will definitely be returning next year. If you’re a fisherman, bring your gear. Plenty of pike in the lake but be advised entire lake is very shallow. Had good luck with a #4 Mepps-yellow/orange with a gold blade. Good cell service with Verizon. Dollar General just 5 miles away for any last minute needs. Thanks Craig!

This is a wonderful off grid get away. We did a winter trip and pulled sleds with skis. Brought in water, coffee, and food. Made fires in the stoves for heat, and had a couple great saunas with cold plunges in the lake. Everything required work which is what my group was looking for. Wood to split, fires to feed, and lanterns to see at night. Close enough to ski back to the car and head to Ely anytime we wanted. Would recommend for unplugging from the busy world. Still had cell service if needed, but we stayed on airplane mode for the most part.

Our stay at the Balsams Resort was truly a once in a lifetime kind of magic. We truly were mystified by the creative power & lore of artist Orr Greenlees in every inch of the cabin + property. Look into the history if you can, such a gem of a time capsule to take part in. Thank you for letting us stay & feel welcomed.

I really enjoyed my stay. I needed somewhere peaceful, and this place delivered. I'll definitely stay again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here a couple of nights to go to Mackinac island and lakeshore. We brought our dog along and it was the perfect cabin vibe we were looking for. We had some lovely peaceful mornings able to make breakfast (we brought a hot plate) and coffee (keurig). We were able to have a bonfire and look at the stars too, perfect tranquil camp vibe with string lights on the porch. There was a short path we could walk the dog around the campsite in the mornings that felt safe. Only 15 minutes away from Mackinaw city.

Nice get away. The place was quiet and peaceful. Perfect location for sightseeing.

Stayed at Scott’s to go snowmobiling and was not disappointed. He was very helpful getting us to the trails. The cabin was comfortable, cozy and the area was beautiful. Great host!
