This quaint, quiet and remarkably cozy cabin was a perfect weekend retreat! We stayed two nights and really enjoyed everything this cabin had to offer. The kitchen allowed us to cook breakfast every morning and pack a lunch for walking the state park only about a mile down the road. Watching the pelicans swim down the Mississippi was morning entertainment from the porch chairs. The relaxing jacuzzi tub was a special treat every evening as we watched our favorite show from the outdoor tv. This cabin was well equipped, decorated thoughtfully and tastefully and provided us with a relaxing get-away! In addition, Pauline was quick to deliver a new coffee maker when the one we had wouldn’t work! Thank you very much for allowing us to stay at your slice of Heaven!

Our stay was very well organized and had easy directions to follow. We really enjoyed the quiet cabin/lake weekend and will possibly be looking to return in the future, during a warmer month. Darrel was our host and he was very kind and welcoming. Overall a very nice stay.

Worked great for meeting some friends for an Iowa football weekend. Easy check-in, comfortable sleeping, and we had everything we needed. Such a unique place with fun amenities. It was also great to have Club 76 just a short walk away.

Very responsive hosts. We did a same night check in and they were accommodating for being last minute. We celebrated our anniversary and they even left us a little surprise.

myself and a group of friends booked this place for a bike race starting in elkader. it was a delight to be a super short ride from the start line, and the hot tub hit the spot when we got home! the home itself is a funky conversion from a barn (i believe) with a few delightful semi-outdoor hangout spaces. we slept six adults and could have easily accommodated another two or three.

The cabin was beyond peaceful and very private! But not far from shopping, and restaurants! Hot tub was clean and very well maintained! Was such an amazing/beautiful getaway!

Stayed here for my birthday trip and had a blast! Eating breakfast by the river was such a peaceful experience. All the furniture was very comfortable and we just loved being out by the fire. never had a single issue there! I think it’s definitely worth the price and we made so many amazing memories!💗would absolutely come back again

Cute cabin and beautiful view, close to hiking! Extra bonus of doggy treats in the freezer. Super quiet and secluded. Wonderful firepit outside with computable chairs. Beds cozy. Kitchen was stocked with what we needed to cook. Bathroom very clean! We shared the kitchen with a lot of lady bugs but it’s that time of year so we understood. Overall we enjoyed our stay!

My family and I really enjoyed the stay. the place was clean and comfortable. we loved the touch inside with the tree. The resort has alot to do from fishing to golfing. It also has atv tracks. Steve is a great host and very kind. we got to meet him and chat for a bit. Thanks Steve!

A delightful retreat. A frames have a special charm and this one definitely stands above the rest. Excellent views & easy to operate gas stove made for cozy couch and reading time. This felt like a well loved home instead of a stale guest residence run by a rental agency, which always makes the experience more personalized. Kent was very communicative and provided plenty of detail about the space and its quirks. Would return again.

We enjoyed the place! This was a second timer, it was as beautiful as the first time. We truly enjoyed it.

Easy check in. He stopped by to check on us as soon as we checked in. Loved the river and of course loved Wolfey’s Bar. Will definitely be returning.

A great place super close to downtown Galena and a quick drive to Chestnut Mountain - truly the best of both worlds. We had a wonderful time staying here with our dog who especially loved the big back yard.

Great place to stay while visiting family!

What a wonderful place! It’s very peaceful and beautiful. The train that runs below didn’t bother me at all (I liked that detail) but my partner used the provided ear plugs. The views on the roads leading to the house were so pretty, we ended up stopping a few times to take photos! Very clean, cozy, and well stocked with everything needed.

This is a quality property: stylish, pristine, well-equipped and comfortable. Nice light throughout, good beds and a fantastic kitchen. Has a very private feeling, yet is less than a 10 minute drive from Iowa City proper and close to all the area has to offer. Hosts were welcoming and responsive to our inquiries. We hope to be back!

We had a great time at Ben's. It's a lovely spot, private, with beautiful woods. No light pollution means gorgeous night skies. You can barely glimpse the nearest neighbor, and won't be able to at all in the summer. The house is super-clean, no clutter, with comfortable furniture. Lots of cozy blankets and great wifi (if you have to work!). It's a great home base for a Grant County visit. Ben was very responsive. One note: all beds are in a loft, so if you have any mobility concerns with steep steps or ladders, this might not be the best choice for you.

Our stay at the cabin was a great time. Andy, took time to talk to us and answered all our questions we had. The deck was fun looking over the pond. We are excited to come back and stay at the bigger cabin.

The hosts are so nice and helpful.The cabin is decorated so cute! Highly recommend! Plus the animals are so cute. The goats are so friendly!
