What's one thing you look for when you are searching for say a cottage or a cabin or a homestay? Quietness, serenity with a pinch of belonging. Property at birdwood cottages provide you just that, situated away from the hustle bustle of the city and also the crowded Mall road of Dalhousie, this place submits you to just relax. Great location, beautiful interiors, great caretakers who make great home made food of your choice. touristy spots are not too far away, ample car parking place, good wifi. The best part of the stay has to be the 2-3 km flat trail circuit in the woods to rejuvenate your mornings. i think late September to early December is the best time to enjoy the flora & fauna of this place before the snow engulfs the area.

As a foreigner i can recommend this place. It was clean and proper. Good value. 5 min walk to leh center. The workers at the homestay were helpful. Great view, hot water, confy bed. All that one can ask for. We staid here to start and finish our laddak trip.

Had a best experience with tundup and the care taker angchuk. Both were very responsive and helped us with all the queries

The place is located at the heart of Banikhet approximately 30 mins from Dalhousie. The place is very nice and beautiful but the room size is a bit small. They have an open terrace and a big one as well. You can enjoy the amazing views from their terrace. The restaurant serves some delicious food. One of the best that I have had in Himachal Pradesh. Please try their margarita pizza. Hospitality was great too.

The place is as described. One of the best places i have stayed yet. The host is really helpful. The home grown vegetables were great. The food was amazing the services were amazing. Nothing to complain about. The host was soo soo good that she also offered us home grown apples from the farm. A perfect place to stay.

If words could do justice, it was a beautiful property in a serene location which is only 15 mins walk from the main Leh market. The view from the room was to die for. What made this stay even more memorable was the generous hospitality of the host Tsering and her entire family, especially her mother who was so kind and humble and made me feel like I was at home. They made local lip smacking delicious food during my entire stay which I shamelessly gorged on with some great conversations. They also helped with arranging a local guide to explore Leh, do ask for Tingle and Stanzin who were extremely kind and friendly and helped getting around Leh attractions, Nubra valley, Pangong lake, Hanley, Ktop, Monasteries etc.. I will definitely come back to this beautiful property when I visit Leh again.

A perfect homestay in Leh! Tsering and her family were super friendly and welcoming hosts. The meals were prepared with fresh vegetables from the garden and were delicious! We had best momos, chutagi in entire Ladakh. Nono, their cute little kitten made our stay more wholesome!! We would not hesitate to visit homestay again.
