great location, super quiet. could use more heating in the winter (bathroom & shower cold), but would totally stay again!

The place was amazing this is my second stay here and it’s still as amazing as the first time. The place is in a great location. Close to the station good restaurants and combini stores.

Eri was so beautiful! So helpful and the way she showed us around the home and her attention to detail was phenomenal! I even asked to stay an extra day because kyoto became my favorite place in all of Japan! Coming to Japan i was a bit disappointed with Tokyo, but i am so grateful for Koji and Eris gorgeous home and their recommendations. We rented kimonos and spent the whole day visiting local shrines and temples, all within walking distance. It was such an amazing experience. I will be coming back next year and am going to spend my entire vacation in Kyoto. Hopefully I will be able to stay at Tsubara house again!

Very nice place with clean and hot tub including place! Drinks, gifts, and quick communications are great to feel welcome at place.

Stayed 3 nights at this beautiful home. great location... short walk to the metro station and centre of Kyoto. The accommodation had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Very responsive host and would definitely stay again.

Yumiko's place was great. The location was extremely close to the station and she was an amazing host. We arrived late and she was waiting to greet us. We were extremely happy with the place and she had even prepared some toys that the kids played with. The loft upstairs was perfect for the kids as they loved to hang out there. I will absolutely stay here again next time I'm in Kyoto.

Great Machiya stay with a traditional feel, but with modern amenities such as heated floor! Also perfect location to explore Kyoto. Tokuji san was always very responsive during communications. Overall, highly recommended!

The location is fantastic — just a stone’s throw from the metro, and only 10 minutes to the city center. We really liked the area because it feels local and authentic, not touristy at all. The house is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped, and full of natural light. Niko is lovely and very thoughtful, which made our stay even better. If I had to mention something, a few things felt a bit worn, and the place wasn’t completely spotless, which we expected. But honestly, it didn’t affect our stay. I still totally recommend it and would definitely come back!

Very warm and helpful household (luggage room option). Good location (quiet and few minutes to Kyoto Station). Rooms very clean, spacious and cosy; beds very comfortable. Everything as described. I highly recommend it!

Our family of four recently stayed at Yamano Kyoto Residence for five nights during our first visit to Kyoto, and Yamano and his wife truly made our trip unforgettable. The house is exactly as described—spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully equipped with all the amenities to make us feel at home. Its convenient location near the train station and bus stop made getting around effortless. The host's prompt and attentive responses to our questions were greatly appreciated. The place was walkable distance to Kyoto station and in a quiet neighbourhood. The host offered us snacks and complimentary Tea and dropped our luggage at the station which was very kind. The house is big with 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and 2 toilets and an outdoor balcony for washing and drying clothes. Overall had a fantastic stay

I recommend this place for everybody who wants to see how it feels like to live in a family friendly and quiet neighbourhood. The outdoor bath is also very private and we enjoyed it very much. Thank you Akio-san and family.

Obviously Jinn has a lovely home, but he is also an extremely gracious host. He was available to answer any and all questions and made us feel right at home in his space. The location is a serene and peaceful neighborhood which allowed us to enjoy parts of Kyoto we otherwise would have missed, while still being close to main attractions. I would recommend anyone to stay here, amazing experience.

spectacular place that ended up feeling like home at the the end of the stay. nice calming place for after all day exploring. authentic area where there weren't a lot of tourists. if you take a day off from exploring, there are close by (15 min) bus ride to great restaurants. about 15-18 mins from the 2 close by train stations. Just warning there is a walking bypass over the main road that helps you get your stairs steps in lol.

Yasuhiko san was waiting for us when we arrived and explained everything about the place in careful detail, and provided what turned out to be great recommendations for a bakery and a grocery store, both nearby. The staircase, as he warned us ahead of time, is quite steep -- my older friends preferred to stay downstairs; I used the upstairs bedroom and found it easier to use the staircase by walking down backwards like a ladder -- it is quite steep. The area is very busy with tourists, many foreign, and both the bakery and the grocery had more non-Japanese than Japanese when we visited -- I suppose this is to be expected so close to Gion. But in short, the place was wonderful, as was Yasuhiko.

May's place is conveniently located near Nishiti Market and public transportation. She was incredibly responsive and went out of her way to assist when I got lost. May personally messaged me directions, met me outside, and warmly welcomed me at the front door. An excellent host—I highly recommend staying at her place.

Dank der großartigen Einführung der Gastgeber und den zwei bereitstehenden Fahrrädern konnten wir Kyoto etwas abseits der Touristenströme und Warteschlangen erleben. Die Wohnung ist klein aber bis ins Detail ausgetüftelt und mit allem ausgestattet, was man für 2 Personen für den Aufenthalt braucht. Die Nachbarschaft ist ruhig, die Bahn und der Fluß nah. Die Gastgeber haben uns sogar die Rückfahrt zum Flughafen organisiert. Wirklich super freundliche und interessante Menschen

I recently stayed at Saito’s place and had a wonderful experience! The check-in process was smooth and easy, and communication with the host was prompt and helpful throughout my stay. The place was thoughtfully furnished, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable visit. The location was perfect — close to one of the attraction, restaurants, and subway station, yet peaceful enough for a good night’s sleep. Overall, this stay exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend this Airbnb to anyone visiting the area. Thank you again, Saito, for being such a great host. Rundum perfekt - sehr zentrale Lage und trotzdem ruhig gelegen mit vielen Restaurants und Bars in der Umgebung - sehr gute Kommunikation mit Aika - das Zimmer ist etwas klein, hat aber alles was man braucht - das Bett war ein Traum! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und konnten uns sehr gut erholen Immer wieder gern! Danke!

非常满意这次的民宿体验，Harry的房子太优秀了，上下两层，休息和休闲空间分开，配备了投影和音响，房屋内的灯光设计也非常温馨。房子本身是非常传统的日式民居，有一个精致的小院子，同时配置了非常现代化的家电系统，很方便。 Harry本人很nice，来公交车站接我们，还推荐了非常地道的日料，下次来京都会再来住的！

I had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The place was clean, cozy, and exactly as described in the listing. The host was super friendly and responsive, making check-in and communication easy. The location was perfect—close to everything but still quiet and relaxing. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Der Gastgeber ist äußerst freundlich und auch lustig. Er hat uns persönlich vom Bahnhof abgeholt, uns den Stadtplan erklärt und ist auf unsere Fragen eingegangen. Sein Englisch war sehr gut und die Kommunikation ebenso. Das Apartment ist traditionell und dementsprechend schön. Es ist sehr groß und man hat viel Platz! Wir bedanken uns bei Mitsuo und würden das Apartment definitiv wieder buchen!

Great place to stay at Kyoto. House is large, even with a small private garden! Very clean and quiet. JR train station and 7-Eleven are within walking distance from the house.
