As the architect behind its renovation, I’ll guide you through its past, design, and hidden gems.
• We’ll meet at Montjuïc Castle’s entrance after your visit. From there, we’ll explore its military past, political role, and renovation challenges before taking in panoramic city views.
• At Mirador del Alcalde, we’ll admire city and port views, including the old and new ports and hidden lighthouses that helped shape Ildefons Cerdà’s city grid.
• Crossing Jardins de Joan Brossa, I’ll share memories of the old amusement park I visited with my father. Not long ago, people lived here in poor conditions, shaping Montjuïc’s evolution. We’ll also visit Plaça de la Sardana, dedicated to Catalonia’s traditional dance.
• Exiting Joan Brossa Gardens, we’ll reach the Olympic diving pool, featured in a Dua Lipa video. Here, we’ll conclude with a final drink at SALTS, soaking in stunning views. Alternatively, you can visit Fundació Joan Miró or take the Montjuïc funicular back to the city.
