We were SO thrilled with our stay! The house was so cozy, beautiful farm animals, we felt safe and at home. The indoor fire was so lovely and there was wood stacked for us to use. There were even toys and books for the kids which was fantastic. The kids loved watching the Kangaroos in the morning and evenings. They loved feeding the cows the bananas and the horses the carrots that Sarah had kindly written about in the welcome information. Sarah was absolutely fantastic - such a beautiful host and we can’t wait to stay again soon. Thank you so much!

The cottages at Tara B & B are fantastic for a city getaway. We stayed for two nights and the antipasto platter and breakfast provisions were very generous and delicious. The cottage was very well equipped with everything you need. The weather was good so we ate breakfast outside in the sun both mornings. On the grounds are alpacas and pigs and I enjoyed saying hello. Guildford is very close to a bunch of really interesting goldfields towns which we really enjoyed. The cottages are in one building divided in two with a common wall, so you do know there are guests next door but it didn’t bother us. All in all highly recommended.

We had a lovely stay! The home was very cozy, and the view of the lake right in front was absolutely stunning. The chimney kept us warm and made the space feel even more special. We were lucky with the weather—it was perfect throughout our stay. One of the sweetest parts was the goats saying hi from all around, which made the atmosphere even more peaceful and charming. We were also lucky that the winery was open during our visit, so we got to enjoy a delicious cheese platter with some great wine… only three minutes walking from the place. Everything was great, and the phone reception worked perfectly too!

This is a cyclist writing who loves country Victoria and its roads less travelled. Beckworth Retreat is such a heavenly place to arrive after a long day in the saddle. Returning to Beckworth Retreat after shorter trips over the next days or simply hanging out there was absolutely enjoyable. Easy living in the country with top hosts and very nice, comfortable facilities for their guests. Superb!

We had such a relaxing stay at Yandoit Creek Farm. The home was cozy, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped with everything we needed—from a crackling fireplace to a well-stocked kitchen. The sourdough Fiona prepared for us was absolutely delicious! It took me a little while to get used to the composting toilet, but it really makes sense—they use the compost for plants, and it’s a smart way to save water in such a dry area. The location was perfect—peaceful and private, with kangaroos and parrots right near the house, and just a short drive to the town centre. The host was friendly, responsive, and made check-in super easy. Highly recommended!

Cosy stay with lots of character! Perfect country stay for two people to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The surroundings are stunning. We saw the highlander cows, and donkeys which was so cute! And we enjoyed the fire pit under the beautiful Milky Way.

What a wonderful place. We stayed with the family and had such a great time. The setting is just spectacular and there was room for everyone. David was a great host, being very responsive and welcoming. It was great staying at the property but also driving to different towns to check them out, coming back home to put on a toasty woodfire and settle in for the night. We loved our stay here!

The tiny house is beautiful. It is so peaceful on the property, so if you’re looking for a quiet spot to rest and relax for a weekend, I can highly recommend Ann’s place. Ann is also super friendly and responsive, even meeting us at the gate when we arrived to show us around. As long as you’re prepared to climb a ladder to get into bed, then I can’t think of a better place to unwind and get away from the city.

Our family had a wonderful time at Ricardo's house. Some family members were initially hesitant about the price but at the end of our stay everyone agreed that it was worth it and had a great time. The house was roomy enough to accommodate our group of 10, was tastefully decorated and had spectacular views from the floor to ceiling windows. There were lovely little touches upon our arrival: a handwritten welcome note, some delicious home-baked almond Sicilian cookies, and fresh eggs and milk in the fridge. The animals (alpacas and sheep) were entertaining and I grew particularly fond of a dear black-faced sheep who was often away from the rest of the flock, waiting near the fence wanting to be fed, like an enthusiastic puppy. Ricardo responded to all of our queries quickly and practically, which made our stay smooth and incident-free. The house was well-equipped and didn't want for anything.

9 of us stayed here over a rainy few days for Easter. The house was perfect for relaxing by the fire heater, board games, reading and relaxing. A well-appointed kitchen and a large bbq with a huge timber for large family dining. Bedrooms and beds very comfortable. We loved grocery shopping, cafes and strolling around Creswick just 9 mins drive and also visiting amazing Daylesford about 20 mins away. There’s a great roadside potato stall on the Midland Hwy in Newlyn Nth - you won’t miss it if coming from Ballarat or Creswick.

Everything about this place was absolutely perfect! Beautiful nestled away in nature, animals on your door step and a lot of privacy. The home itself was gorgeous, we really loved the decor and small details. Liz was a super responsive host and checked in with us to see if we needed anything. We really loved our stay, thank you so much!

An amazing very well appointed cottage with every item you could need. For a small two person studio sized cottage it offered enough space both inside and out to chill. Amazing is the best way to describe it. Peaceful, comfortable and fresh & clean. I could only recommend this place highly, for a couple looking for a quiet retreat and peaceful couple of nights it was ideal. Heather was responsive and the whole process was easy. Well done Heather on a great set up!

Our stay at the Vicarage was absolute perfection. From the moment we arrived—lights on, music playing—we felt instantly relaxed. The home is a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and charm and Dean is an incredibly thoughtful host. The fires were set, the hot tub was ready, and a generous selection of provisions welcomed us. There were no tedious rules, just an open invitation to unwind and enjoy. The gardens were gorgeous too with plenty of quiet spots to enjoy a book or a cuppa, and Sammy the cat made us feel right at home. Every detail was focused on comfort and ease. We (reluctantly!) left feeling refreshed and are already dreaming of coming back. Thanks Dean for an unforgettable stay, you have truly perfected the art of hosting. We had a wonderful stay at this charming Charter Farm house! The property was beautifully decorated, blending classic old-world charm with modern amenities. We had a great time at Cathy’s property, definitely a place I would come back and stay at again. So peaceful & amazing views. We made use of the awesome fire pit out in the garden. My family and friends enjoyed a wonderful stay at this beautiful place over the Easter weekend, and we truly had a marvellous time! The property is incredible and perfect for kids to run around and have fun. It has everything you need, including a Tesla charger, which is just fantastic! Our wonderful hosts were always available to communicate with me, promptly answering any questions I had. The surrounding area offers a variety of delightful activities for families to explore. A huge thank you to Andrew, Paul, and Gillian for providing such a lovely Easter experience at your property. We really hope to return someday!

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It’s very cosy and clean. There’s everything you need in the kitchen. There were even games and colouring books for the kids. There are farms around you so it’s perfect if you want to escape the hustle of the city. Just a quick drive to all the sights in the area. Kylie is a very friendly and helpful host, always responded quickly. We would definitely come back.

Just glorious. What a beautiful place to stay. Judy and Neil were lovely hosts and the Great Hall had so many lovely touches, from the expansive range of LPs and CDs, to the styling of the space, to the fresh flowers and Neil's wonderful sourdough. There's obviously so much care and thought put into the space for others to enjoy. The space is gorgeous with the morning light, and wonderful to relax outside in the afternoon. I had every intention of exploring the local area but chose to stay in, reading and enjoying the sounds of the kookaburras and magpies. I feel like I had escaped from the world for a week, not just a weekend. I very much recommend listening to the CDs of Judy and Neil's own music too! I would love to come back again in the colder months to enjoy the fireplace. Even if it's a rainy weekend - to be nestled up in this space, switching off from the world, would be such a treat.
