Nestled beside a 14th-century Abbey & overlooking a prime salmon fishing river, this is a location that blends charm & character in equal measure. Fancy a drink or a game of pool? The Abbey Inn pub is just across the road. We don't supply logs for the stove but happy to arrange a bundle for a small fee. Just message ahead :)

Swallow Cottage, Auldgirth - north of Dumfries.

Swallow Cottage was lovingly converted by Steve and Sarah from McMurdoston's old granary in 2014 and provides a wonderfully peaceful place to stay while exploring Dumfries and Galloway. The cottage is only 20 minutes drive from a 24-hour supermarket, a cinema and numerous eateries, but once you get here you'll feel as if you are truly in the middle of nowhere. We live just across the yard if you need us and we'll do everything we can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and quietly memorable.

Quiet and tranquil garden and patio area, perfect for enjoying a glass of bubbly and taking in the wonderful views and relaxing. The semi detached cottage is stylish and tastefully decorated. Part of the beauty of Woodend is even though you are surrounded by fields, it’s only a stroll into Dumfries town centre (20 mins) where you will find pubs, restaurants and shopping.

Keep it simple at this peaceful and centrally-located two bedroomed apartment in historic Dumfries. Connections with our national poet Robert Burns surround you. His pub, the Globe, his house and his mausoleum are all within a few minutes’ walk. Enjoy the balcony views of the river and easy access to shops, restaurants, walks, cinema, leisure swimming pool and other local amenities. Whether you love to walk, cycle or relax by the wood burning fire then this is the perfect spot for you all to unwind after a great day out. We have a secure outhouse that you can use to store all your bicycles during your stay. Located a few miles from Dumfries, Lochmaben and Lockerbie. You can access outdoor pursuits, art and cultural heritage and spa facilities. This is a non-smoking and pet free cottage.

Kirkland Cottage

Kirkland Cottage is completely self-contained and is attached to our main house in an enclosed, secluded and large garden. Although only two miles from Dumfries Town Centre it is in a quiet, rural location. There is ample parking beside the cottage and a lockable room for storage of bicycles and other leisure equipment. The cottage provides a great base from which to enjoy the many cultural and outdoor activities available in the immediate locality.

Charming chalet in peaceful rural location.

Our chalet is in our large, well managed garden. While it is near our house and we are happy to chat, we always respect peoples privacy. This is a very peaceful place where you can sit outside and watch the flames of the fire pit at night or stay in and have a cosy evening. Our neighbours are all of the four legged variety so some countryside noises are to be expected but the cows love to come and greet you at the wall. Parking space in garden
