The interior of the house is stunning and very cozy, everything is thoughtfully decorated with great attention to detail. The location is perfect – not far from the lake, so we were able to enjoy some wonderful hikes. The house matches the description exactly, and we felt right at home. We felt very fortunate to have found Cristina’s chalet in Monteverde. Her place has great access to the Cloud Forest and downtown Santa Elena. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the sweetest, friendliest kitty. When we entered the chalet, it was cozy and made us feel right at home. We felt like we were right in the tree tops which provided us with a sense of privacy. The song birds and the visiting coati were a great reminder of where we were. We had everything we needed during our stay. Cristina was responsive and very friendly. You can tell she truly loves hosting and wants to make sure each of her guests’ stay is comfortable and memorable. Her breakfast was delicious and was a great way to start the day. It was special touch you don’t often get in an Airbnb. Order the typical breakfast, you won’t be disappointed. We highly recommend staying here and would rebook again without hesitation.

This place was great. It was very private and secluded. It had a wonderful view of the bay that leads into the Pacific Ocean. Which is great for sunsets. Monteverde and Santa Elena are very nearby by car, or a nice walk away. there are small towns, but have everything you would need including coffee, shops, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. I enjoyed the outdoor charcoal barbecue to prepare dinner. The kitchen was well equipped. The rooms were clean, large, and very comfortable. There was plenty of family space to gather and dine play games, etc. I would recommend a 4 x 4 vehicle to get up the road. The host is right next-door, and very responsive if you need anything, and offers breakfast for purchase if you would like. We had a lovely stay going into Easter weekend and would recommend this too any traveler. We were with grandma and our seven-year-old and found it very accommodating to our needs. Buenas!

La casa de la familia Vargas es simplemente fantástica. Una casa de madera enclavada en un entorno tranquilo y de abundante vegetación. La casa tiene todo (salvo aire acondicionado que quizás se necesita para una noche fría) lo que necesitas para ir con tu familia. Es realmente mágica la experiencia. Daniela nos atendió estupendamente (gracias Daniela😊)

Lage und Ausstattung des Hauses entspricht genau den Angaben im Inserat. Für unseren Aufenthalt haben wir uns einen 4WD SUV gemietet und waren damit auf den teils steilen und ausgefahrenen Wegen sehr sicher unterwegs. Wir konnten das Haus sehr sauber und vollständig ausgerüstet übernehmen. Alles was da war funktionierte auch. Die Unterkunft bietet viel Raum für die persönlichen Dinge. Philippe empfing uns zum Check-in und führte uns in die Eigenheiten der Unterkunft ein. Er lebt als Nachbar vor Ort, betreut Haus und Gäste und schaute regelmässig kurz vorbei. Wir haben diese Kontakte sehr geschätzt.

An absolutely unreal spot! All the amenities you could hope for and more. The space is simple but has everything you need to cook and hang out. Maria and Cedric were incredible hosts. Very responsive and gave us great recommendations both before and during our stay. We will absolutely be back. We loved the local surf break, skating bowl and enjoyed the annual rodeo.

My husband and I stayed at Amalu for three nights in mid-February 2025. We stayed in Glass Cabin Number one, and the view was west-facing and stunning. You had views all the way to the Pacific Ocean and a perfect view of sunset every night. You're so high up that you can feel the winds blowing in the day and through the night, but it only adds to the mountaintop experience as you're warm and snug in your perfectly appointed glass house. The units have a kitchenette and come stocked with perfect food essentials provided by the host. There are spa waffle robes and slippers and a telescope for stargazing and bird watching. The hot tub outside on the deck is amazing for relaxing at night. The staff were extremely friendly and welcomed us upon arrival. If we needed anything at all, it was just a message away.

Wow, Mathi is such a great host! We loved the recommendations for the taxi drivers and beaches, and we also love the values she lives by to protect the environment. Her place is inspiring, with the permaculture gardens, homemade cleaning supplies, and all of the work she has put in to the little community that she has built on the hill. We highly recommend the meals that are cooked on site, and the views/breezes are the best around!

El lugar es muy acogedor, silencioso y espacioso. El área de la piscina y alrededores es bonito y tranquilo, está muy limpio y cuidado. Cuenta con buen en equipamiento en la cocina y en general bien equipada toda la casa, las personas que cuidan están muy presentes. La calle es de lastre y tiene huecos grandes que pueden golpear un carro muy bajo, yo tengo un sedan y si pude ingresar sin problema. El único punto de mejora es que los cuartos son muy calientes.
