Lovely quite place to stay? Friendly host and nice welcome pack on arrival. Comfortable couch and bed. Very spacious downstairs and wheelchair friendly. The vents can be a bit noisy when the wind gets up. Very little light pollution in some directions if you are into star gazing. The drive is spacious .

I absolutely loved our stay at Barnacre Alpacas, we stayed in the rose cottage, it was very clean and the hot tub was a bonus. We enjoyed the alpaca walk and talk, that was something I’ll never forget! On arrival the cottage was dressed up for a birthday surprise and champagne and chocolates was left for us. Thank you to Paul and Debbie, we will be back!

Jane met us on arrival, explained everything, then left us to chill out. The welcome pack and fresh flowers were a lovely gesture and were much appreciated. The cottage was spotless and felt extremely homely. We very much enjoyed the games room and enclosed hot tub. The garden areas were vast with lots of outdoor furniture. We enjoyed a lovely ice cream at Archers ice cream parlour (10 min walk) and experienced both pubs in nearby Heighington, very friendly, great food and service in the George & Dragon. Another recommendation is the nearby Raby castle, definitely a worthwhile visit. We definitely recommend staying at Ivy cottage and look forward to returning there again. Thank you Jane.

We enjoyed a great break in Peewit Cottage, which was spotless and had everything you need. The surroundings were well looked after and amenities great. The little touches, including the welcome pack (best we’ve had and included the dog!) and Prosecco and strawberries to enjoy in the hot tub were thoughtful and lovely. All the information you need is provided prior to arrival or readily available within the cottage. We used the cottage as a base to visit local attractions, all easily accessible by car. Glen was both very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend and somewhere we would return to. Thank you, Jacqueline!

Mark’s and Michelle’s home is by far the best place we’ve stayed in. Everything’s exactly what was in the description— all the amenities are well cared for and the attention to detail are well thought of. So you can also expect a luxurious and pleasant getaway for a reasonable price. Thank you again to you both for your warm hospitality! We’ve had perfect and relaxing weekend rest. We’ll for sure come back— a little longer stay next time.

Wir hatten ein paar sehr schöne Tage im „Farm Cottage“! Der Hof ist ruhig und wunderschön und unsere kleine Tochter war begeistert von den vielen Tieren. Das Pool Haus mit Trainings- und Hobbyraum ist ein tolles Extra, genauso die frischen Eier von den eigenen Hühnern, Holz für den Ofen und der Service, das Waschhaus inkl. Waschmaschine und Trockner zu nutzen. Die Kommunikation mit Chris und seiner Frau war perfekt. Wir waren sehr traurig, dass wir nur ein paar Tage da waren. Ein kleiner Hinweis für große Menschen: Die Dusche ist sehr, sehr niedrig ;) Also entweder baden, im sitzen duschen oder am besten einfach die Dusche im Pool Haus nutzen!

Lovely stay at the cottage, a great little get away with the girls. The hot tub was fantastic and the little touches of robes and slippers along with a chilled bottle of asti were very nice. Will no doubt be booking again.

Outstanding cottage, would love to come back soon! The photos don’t do it justice! It’s even better when you’re there. Spotlessly clean, beautiful kitchen/dining room and comfortable bed. Beautiful cottage 5 mins from beach. Very clean and tidy, milk in fridge on arrival for a much needed cuppa. Good communication from Nick. Would stay again.

Great responsive host with early check in, lovely views with a ice cream parlour serving home made ice cream ,cakes and bakes -just a 5minute walk from the cottage. Great base for plenty of walks nearby. a clean peaceful and cosy cottage with Lovely scenic view from the cottage window, loved my stay everything was provided a home from home.

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful home. Lynne is an excellent host and the place is very nicely decorated. We did a country walk nearby as there are lots of footpaths and we came across great views of the surroundings and local bird life. All in all another excellent trip. We highly recommend!

What can I say... Absolutely fantastic place. You couldn't ask for anything more. Really peaceful location with fantastic views of the hills etc. We had a strange issue but this was sorted out very swiftly by Malcolm 👍 We will definitely be looking to book again and have another peaceful time just watching the world go by. This was one of the nicest places we have stayed in very many years. Carol was a delight and the cottage had everything one could want. I was impressed by the number of books available, it was a joy.

Abbey Hill Cottages to high above W. Hartlepool. They are well equipped.Beds are comfortable and so is sitting room furniture. Plenty of hot water. Good shower.Lots of space. I would stay again.

Spacious and comfortable cottage ideal for a couple in a pretty village by the moors. We enjoyed visiting the surroundings including the city of Durham and Beamish Open Air Museum as well as castles and countryside. On street parking was no problem as we always parked in front of the cottage.

Fantastic cottage in a beautiful location. Great base for exploring nearby Hexham and Corbridge, and Roman ruins such as Vindolanda, Housesteads and Hadrian’s Wall. Very well equipped kitchen, much better than average, with all the kitchen utensils you need. Very friendly and welcoming host. Would highly recommend.

A lovely cottage in stunning surroundings - birdsong, cows on the hill, and chickens who greet you every morning! Great facilities, peaceful and restful, and very responsive hosts: when I got too excited by the animals and locked us out, Susan and Howard were immediately on hand to help remotely - despite being on holiday themselves. Which we really appreciated. Catered to our 1y/o very well, and we felt at home. Would love to return. Thanks!

Beautiful comfy cottage in a quiet and pretty location. Great as a base for exploring Hadrian's Wall, Vindolanda and Corbridge. We had a great stay.

Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Easy parking outside the house. The house is beautifully decorated, every thin you could need is supplied. Beds very comfortable and nice clean fresh bed linen and towels. Lovely bathroom and powerful shower. All in all a lovely home, close to beach and easy access to other places of interest. Would recommend staying there

We had a great time! The farm cottage had everything that you needed for a comfortable and well equipped stay. It was lovely seeing the lambs playing in the field, hearing the owls in the evening in the nearby trees and seeing the fantastic sunsets on the horizon. We enjoyed our walks around Bolam country Park, getting to Cresswell Beach and going into Newcastle. We also went into the National park for a walk up to a waterfall. Our dog - Callie - enjoyed her stay just as much as we did! Would definitely be happy to visit again.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. The secluded cottage was perfect for us, we could go lovely walks around the area but if we did want to go elsewhere, it was near to loads of interesting places ! I personally enjoyed the wildlife at the cottage, Common Redstarts, Siskins, Willow Wablers to name a few ! The cottage was lovely and warm, clean, just sooooo lovely. Mac and Maggie were brilliant, such lovely people who’d do anything you asked, not that we needed much of course ! I would HIGHLY Recommend their cottage, such a lovely weeks holiday, Thanks Again Mac & Maggie ! Xxxxx
