Чем вы займетесь

You will take part in our annual event, making Miso for 1 year. We use Usu (a large Japanese stamp mill ) and some rod to mush boiled soy beans. It would be fun to do it with 3-6 people together.
It's spoken that we Japanese people had been doing it as a family annual event with neighborhoods long time ago. It was one of wisdom of Japan for making preservative food for a year, and having warm and fun time during cold winter time.
After mashing soy beans and mixing it with Koji and salt, you make it into balls and through it in a big pot to storage. Most of kids like eating just boiled soy beans (adults too actually:), and other process of miso making. So it would be nice if you have kids can take part in.

We are family of 4 including 2 little kids, doing a small shop named WATANABE-TATEGUTEN. We've been following Japanese traditional life styles ; growing rice without using big machine, not using refrigerator and learning about know-how of fermented foods like Miso, Koji and many kinds of pickles. We make Miso for 1 year with our neighbor and friends by traditional way every winter.

Где вы побываете

We do Miso making at the entrance of our house.
If you want we can show you other homemade fermented foods.
Also we can take a walk to our organic rice paddy field (10minutes walk from our house). On the way to the field, you could see some vegetable gardens from neighbors. The landscape looks like a real rural Japan.
