  • Lance was very accommodating and helpful! The house was amazing, and the guest suite had the most incredible view of Portland!

    Meghan2015-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lance and his cat Bukowski were great hosts and very accommodating. He gave us a house tour and recommendations on bars/restaurants nearby. Downtown was a quick UBER ride away and I also walked to the hiking trails from the treehouse. Enjoyed the views and the bedroom area was large and had a nice seating area next to it with Portland restaurant magazines.

    Christie2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Lance's unique home, especially the spectacular views. Lance welcomed us warmly and gave us a tour, explaining the history of his home. It served as a great base for exploring Portland.

    Libby2015-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place was a gem. It is located on the hills above the city, and you get an unobstructed view all the way to my. Helena and Hood. To be clear to those who rent, the rental is for the entire downstairs area and Lance lives on the second level. Lance was great about communicating and gave us our space to enjoy our stay. He also made coffee for us in the morning and made us feel very welcome! Would definitely recommend.

  • Lance's treehouse is easily the most incredible home I've ever stayed in! Even though Portland was rainy and grey, the treehouse was happy and bright. The bed is sooo comfortable, and waking up to that view? Wow. Lance is a trip, full of funny stories and so generous with his coffee and beer. We could've hung out with him all day. And Bukowski! The cutest, most affectionate cat of all time. (Apologies to our own cat.) We took a million pictures of him and plotted to steal him constantly. We adored this place and would stay again in a Portland minute... whatever that means.

    Kathleen2016-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse and beautiful and Lance was very accommodating. We felt comfortable, welcomed and would stay again if we're ever in Portland. The views were beautiful and we highly recommend staying here.

  • It was lovely meeting Bukowski and his kind owner Lance. Thank you for being a gracious host!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • Jack and Cris' cottage was a great place to stay for the weekend. It's very charming and the location has lots of restaurants and shops nearby you can walk to. The bed in the cottage was a little too soft for my liking, but the wonderful backyard was such a nice retreat after a long day of exploring Portland and the nearby areas. Jack offered some great advice on restaurants and activities going on the weekend we stayed which was very helpful.

    Leah2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect! The space is unique and comfortable. If we are ever in Portland again, we'll be sure to see if Chris and Jack have space for us,

    Kate2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived just as Jack and Cris got home so we got to meet them right away. They were so gracious and wonderful, showed us around and instantly we felt at home. They built the amazing cob hut themselves and it was cozy and clean and it was awesome to fall asleep underneath a skylight that we could see the stars. They gave us numerous suggestions of things to do and places to go. I knew they owned a coffee shop so I inquired, and they have two shops (Floyd's Coffee), one of which we went to twice because the breakfast burrito is delicious and so is the coffee and chai lattes...The property is an oasis! A seriously amazing BEAUTIFUL and relaxing place to stay. They have put alot of love and care into their place and it shows. The neighborhood is just fantastic with so many cute homes and its very close to a main road that has a bunch of yummy restaurants and ice cream (salt and straw) and food trucks. It's also very quite in the neighbourhood they live and I loved just walking around. I truly never wanted to leave and I will most definitely go back. I miss it already. This was my first time in Portland and I think staying here reinforced my love of it. Thank you Jack and Cris! I will be seeing you again! Xo

    Jessica2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • It is a very special place to stay. The neighborhood is tranquil, nice and trendy. There are many restaurants. We took a bike from the Biketown to bike the city. Portland is super bike friendly. Jack and Chris are admirable hosts. We felt very at home at their place.

    Louise2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in this beautifully designed cottage. So warm (the floors were warm too) without even turning on the heater. Anywhere you look there are interesting details. The pond, cats in the patio, bamboo outside the dutch door, coffee/ tea, and the area is nice and quite.

    Ruby2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliantly located just off Richmond’s main street - this is a great area for local shops, art galleries, craft centres, restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Fairly easy to get into central Portland too. The room/mini house (!) was totally unique, a really interesting place to stay, and it was well thought out with all the little details that make the stay easier. A warm, cosy, great place.

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • Perfect!

  • Andrée was a sweet and accommodating host. We ended up being very delayed in arriving Friday night, and she was great about making that possible. The neighborhood is terrific - very quiet, near a wonderful park, great (natural foods) market, and the best breakfast / coffee spot! The garage cum studio/loft is small (and very interesting!) but adequate if you're not going to be spending too much time there. There is no running water in the studio, so you do have to go into the house to wash up, bathe, and use the potty. If that doesn't bother you, this is a great, quirky spot -- and very reasonably priced.

    Signe2014-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn is a great space and very comfortable. Andree made sure she was there to welcome us and to get us all the basic info we needed to enjoy our stay. It is slightly inconvenient to have to go into the main house to use the washroom and to get water etc but that was as described in the ad so not a surprise. The shared bathroom could have been in a cleanlier state give the price of the rental...could have stayed in a hotel for the price. The location on a quiet residential street was a nice change from being and worth the disadvantage of not being central to the downtown

    Kevin2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Andrèe was amazing and extremely gracious and gave us AMAZING recommendations for things to do around town and even recommended places to go when we left and went to Seattle! The cottage was SO CUTE and perfect for what we were looking for! (Especially for the price!) it was a great location and only took us a couple minutes to drive to the max/Mississippi street/The lloyd center...etc... we would definitely recommend staying in this cottage and are hoping to again in the future! Thanks Andrèe!

  • The listing was very accurate. It was a tad warm but only because we went on an oddly hot weekend for Portland. Andree even gave us a huge fan and was enough to keep up cool. The tiny house was so quaint and cozy! The neighborhood was insanely cute too, quiet and residential. Andree was accommodating and it was nice to chit chat with her whenever we ran into her on our way in or out of the house. Amazing host!

    Jolyn2015-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Rustic Barn Studio is perfect for one or 2 people exploring Portland. Andrée was an excellent host throughout my stay. Her flexibility (as my flight was delayed 2 hours) and suggestions on what to do during our stay helped make the trip as memorable as it was.

    Kathryn2016-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent space and location makes it easy to get anywhere you need to go! We had a great time and Andree was very nice.

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, King Memory foam Bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv i, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a king bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • I would highly recommend staying here! The studio is so cute and the perfect size. I stayed here for about 6 days while attending a conference at the convention center. The bus around the corner from the studio takes you directly to the convention center so it was very convenient. Would definitely stay here again!

  • Our stay in Portland at Jason's apartment was excellent! He was very accommodating, the apartment was very comfortable and in a great location, and the suggested restaurants list on his welcome note was very much appreciated. But the best part for us was that the apartment is pet friendly which meant that we could have our cat with us (we were in the process of moving to a new state) - not an easy characteristic to find in Airbnb listings. Overall it was a great experience!

    Amanda2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This location is prime time. the apartment is quaint & clean. great little spot to spend your time in while in Portland.

    Adriel2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay in Jason's apartment. The private entry made it feel very homey! The fireplace was definitely a key feature of the apartment and was a lot of fun. Checking in was a little confusing, as we arrived a little bit early - just as someone else was arriving, but we got settled in easily once we figured out who went where! We had no issues with the apartment, but would note that it can get chilly in there! A space heater is provided, and with that and the fire - we were very comfortable.

    Daniel2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's studio was just as described, and we loved the fact that it was in a quiet neighborhood, was super clean and very spacious. It was conveniently located to explore Portland, and Jason left great recommendations for eating in the area. The house is divided into multiple apartments but it has a private entrance and we never heard a peep from the other guests! Very quiet and peaceful spot. We would love to stay here again next time we are in Portland.

    Julie2016-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and comfortable.

    Karen2017-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place to stay, clean, quiet and comfortable in a nice neighborhood.

    Yosh2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • The space was very nice and just as described. It was a perfect location within walking distance to my conference and there were great places to stop around 15th and Broadway. Jason was easy to contact and check in and check out were very easy. I would definitely recommend this location to travelers.

This quaint 1 bedroom furnished apt. is located downstairs in our historic brick English tutor home. It has a separate key, private entrance, and courtyard. The space is well-lit with two windows and has a back door to a beautiful garden and patio in the backyard as well as a side door to the courtyard. The location is Laurelhurst - one of Portland's oldest and most beautiful planned communities on a quiet, tree lined street within 10 minutes of the city and 15 min. from the airport. Major shopping, wonderful restaurants and one of Portland's most beautiful parks are all within walking distance. This ideal location is only two blocks from a major bus line and 5 blocks from the MAX train. Other amenities include a private courtyard, washer/dryer in the apt., and easy walking distance to bus, train, restaurants and shopping. More information on our historic home can be found on Oregon Encyclopedia website. Search for "Brick House Beautiful". Our home has also been in "Better Home and Gardens" magazine and has been twice on the cover of "Old House Journal". If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.

  • We had a wonderful stay at The English Cottage with Sue and Bob. The house is amazing, and the gardens WOW! We could have just stayed and spent time with them. BUT we were there to see our family! We are looking forward to booking again on our next visit.

    donetta2012-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first experience using Airbnb, and we couldn't have been happier! The garden apartment was exactly as pictured in the photos - adorable, private, romantic, and quiet. We appreciated being able to cook/eat there, and having access to a washer/dryer en suite helped us pack light, even for a trip during pouring November rain. Everything was just right for our getaway. Whenever local friends came by, we insisted on showing them the place. We would eagerly stay there again, maybe during spring or summer when we could enjoy the courtyard.

    Erica2014-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the Quaint English Cottage Garden apartment exceeded the expectations that I had. My stay was only three nights, but they were a very comfortable three nights. Sue was very patient with my many questions, since I was a first time AirBNB user. The manual contained all of the information I needed, and made making the check-out process very easy. My friend and I enjoyed following the instructions that guided us to the entrance of the apartment. It was like following instructions to a little secret garden. The lights in the garden made arriving to the property at night that much more charming. The gardens were just as impressive during the day! The apartment was very clean and contained everything I needed. Every single thing made me feel very welcomed. I didn't get to meet Sue and Bob, but met Karen the house sitter who was very nice. Snowball provided a few photo opportunities in the garden. The bed was comfortable and I appreciated the fan that was provided, since I enjoy sleeping with white noise. Staying in a piece of Portland history was also something I enjoyed. The location was close to the airport and to other places in Portland that made my visit very enjoyable. The neighborhood felt very safe and was a delight to walk around. If you're looking for a secure place to stay in Portland that has all of the conveniences you could ever need, treat yourself to this little charming piece of Portland history.

  • Charming, super clean, good privacy. Attentive, responsive hosts. Lovely neighborhood. Great value.

    Robert2018-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Bob, along with their home, exceeded our expectations with how welcoming, generous, beautiful and accommodating their home was. We were warmly welcomed into their front door to receive a small tour of their historic home and then shown the apartment we were renting. We were surprised to find a bottle of champagne on ice with glasses, waiting for us in our kitchenette (we told them upon booking the room that is was our honeymoon), so sweet. They had everything we needed in their well appointed apartment. One of the best neighborhoods in Portland, on a beautiful street. We highly recommend staying here (but only if you are under 6'5" because the ceilings are short!). Thanks again for the great experience!

    Brian2015-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Bob maintain an excellent living environment. The house and garden were beautiful to behold. I never had a chance to meet Sue, but Bob was very welcoming. He made great suggestions for things to do around Portland. I highly recommend staying here if you’re thinking about visiting Portland.

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • Laurel and Brian’s place is in a fantastic location. We used their apartment to film a short video and they were helpful in allowing us to get in early so that we could start shooting before sun set. Laurel was super nice to work with!

    Varina2018-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful experience staying with Laurel and Brian. Aside from the obviously beautiful space, it is located close to many wonderful shops on Division, and close to transit that can take you anywhere in the city. We were on our honeymoon, and they were thoughtful enough to leave a bottle of wine in the kitchen for us when we arrived. Everything was clean, the kitchen is well stocked with items for cooking, and the bed is very comfortable. Our only regret was not being able to find time to have a drink with L & B. Thank you for a wonderful space to start off our honeymoon!

    Arleigh2016-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of our best Airbnb experiences to date! Laurel and Brian's apartment is full of light and has everything you need, including a supremely comfortable bed. We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed walking/biking to many of our favorite restaurants in Portland. It was easy to coordinate our details with Laurel, and she went out of her way to meet us and welcome us in person, which was so nice. Overall, it was a perfect getaway weekend, and we would gladly stay with them again!

    Kim2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • It is a great location. There are so many spots that you can walk to. The bus lines are also very close, which makes it easy to get downtown. The place is clean and quiet and Laurel and Brian are wonderful hosts. We would definitely stay here again.

    Sarah2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • So great! This place is amazing. 10/10. Would stay again.

    T.J.2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house! Fantastic location! If you like to walk there are plenty of places to stop but also very nice neighborhood to hang out. We had a short stay and only wish we could have been there longer

    Vicki2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian's guesthouse is a perfect spot in Portland. Everything was just as advertised, clean, with a really comfortable bed, great kitchen, and deck out back. The neighborhood is so much fun, both quiet and residential and close to great food and drink. Terrific hosts who went out of their way to help make our stay comfortable. Couldn't have been better.

    Ian2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend Laurel and Brian’s home for a very comfortable, clean and homey place to stay while visiting amazing Portland.

Where Bali meets Portland. Come relax in this newly, beautifully designed, private mixed use accommodation. Just five short blocks from Portland's hip N Williams district. A rooftop deck.
I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • Fantastic place and a great little neighborhood. Access was super easy, the room was clean, and the host was available for any questions that I had. Would definitely look into staying here again!

    Fernando2015-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. Recommend completely.

    Bryce2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy is a warm and professional host who respects your privacy and is around when you need him. We had never stayed in an Airbnb before and it was a fantastic experience staying in his beautiful house. Would go back.

    Matt2016-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Despite a slight hiccup on the first night, we had a great stay! When we initially arrived at our room, the bed was not made, but we were easily able to find some fresh linens on a shelf by the shared washer and dryer. Timothy, who was understandably busy at the time, realized the error before we even brought it up and more than made up for the first night by upgrading us to a larger bedroom with a separate living area and private bathroom for the next three nights of our stay. This shows that Timothy makes normal human errors like the rest of us but goes above and beyond to accommodate his guests.

    Samir2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy did a great job of ensuring a smooth easy stay... Clean rooms and the location made my stay enjoyable.

    Jose2016-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great lively neighbourhood with lots of close by amenities including a bakery next door and a solid winery, Tesoaria, a short walk away. Tim wasn't able to meet us but arranged for his partner to welcome us at the location and show us around. Everything is as promised- clean, comfortable and spacious.

    Robert2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The room was AMAZING! We loved our stay at Timothy's place. If we visit Portland again we will stay here.

    Kip2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, close to neighbourhoods with delicious restaurants and cute shops. A short transit ride to downtown. Clean and quite private. Timothy was really friendly and helpful. Can't wait to visit Portland again!

Our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide views of the west hills and flood the room with an abundance of natural light, even on the greyest of drizzly Portland days. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; If you're needing more of a "hangout spot," this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to two main restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • Everything about our stay in Melissa's studio was perfect. It has a good location and perfect hosts! Melissa made sure we had a comfortable stay right from making perfect arrival arrangements to talking to us about the best spots around. I would highly recommend their studio. Thank you once again for the lovely stay!

    Nazia2016-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wow - what a wonderful little place to stay. Incredibly accommodating and everything you need for even a week long stay. Better than any hotel in my opinion. The bed was comfortable, shades pulled closed for privacy, SO quiet in the neighborhood. A few drinks in the refrigerator, plenty of towels and blankets, great shampoo/conditioner, even make-up remover wipes in the sink drawer. Every little detail was thought of - little umbrellas on a hook near the entry door. We'll be back!

    Emily2017-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was a bright, cozy place to sleep in a great neighborhood. Clean and welcoming.

    Spencer2016-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was great. Easy 5 minute walk to several food/shopping options as well as a bus line that gets you both downtown and to other parts of the city as well as the easy to navigate MAX system. SE Division street is a gem within a mostly residential, low-key part of the city. The BNB itself is just as nice! Decor and amenities are true to as advertised on Airbnb. Hard to thing of cons to our stay

    Taylor2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa was a great host. They really made our trip to Portland wonderful. Our room was so cute and they recommended some great places for us to go to and see. We'll definitely be back!

    Colette2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's place is just perfect. Amazing attention to detail. Great location. Clean. Easy check-in/check-out. Charming space. Very comfortable. This was the best AirBnb experience I've had (and I travel a lot for work). Thank you, Melissa!!

    Justin2017-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best AirBnb we've stayed in! It was so nice and comfy- Melissa and her husband provide coffee and tea and any amenities you could think of - make up removing wipes, shampoo, etc. It was in a fabulous location. We were able to walk and loved going to the fabulous restaurants nearby. Very updated and clean! Would stay here again for sure!

    Marguerite2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in Portland at Brian & Melissa's Studio! It is rare to find a place that is as beautiful in person as the pictures online make it out to be, and Brian & Melissa's place does just that! There are plenty of great restaurants in the surrounding area, and a bus stop was a short walk from the Studio that got us everywhere we needed to go around the city. We have already recommended this place to friends, and would love to stay here again the next time we are in Portland.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Anna and Jeremy were great hosts for our quick one night visit to Portland. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed!

    Cassie2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place is as cute and perfect as the pictures - super clean, modern and very comfortable. We loved the neighborhood, especially the market nearby. Anna and Jeremy were kind and welcoming and let us do our thing. We would stay here again, 100%.

    Stephen2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using airbnb and I could not be more pleased! My husband and I chose this place because we are shallow and really liked the look of the place. Anna and Jeremy did a great job of making their basement seem like a home away from home. It was clean, comfortable, and I loved that there was a stove and fridge even though we didn't use either. Jeremy was there at our check-in and it was easy communicating with him via text. One thing to note is that the window in the kitchen does not have curtains, but the bedroom space and the bathroom offer privacy so we had no issue with it.

    Le'Anna2014-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a sweet gem of a place! It was perfect! Awesome shower. The whole place was very well designed with great attention to beautiful little details. It was amazingly tidy and clean. They were fabulous hosts! I would stay there again in a second. Cute little neighborhood and great little bakery nearby.

  • Amazing basement❤️❤️❤️

    Alex 2015-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Anna was really helpful and informative! The area was great, close to Alberta arts district. The apartment was clean and cozy. We felt like we had our privacy. The bed was comfortable and we liked the bathroom. I'm big into feeling safe and the area was comfortable and the apartment felt secure. The decor was fun and streamline.

    Casey2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • By far one of the greatest houses we stayed in for our road trip! Anna and Jeremy were very kind and had the best recommendations for us. Their space was so amazing in person and had everything we needed for our stay. We are dying to come back & I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Portland.

    Tamsin2015-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautifully designed, well spaced for two people, with a comfortable bed, wonderful bathroom and a quiet location with lots to do near by. The shower as you may have read about was great! Wonderful handwritten binder full of suggestions. A great location and wonderful stay.

  • Anastasia’s apartment is fairly spacious, neat, trendy and located in one of the coolest neighbourhoods of Portland. Communicating was very easy and Anastasia can help you navigate through the extensive PDX food scene. ;) At times we felt some small vibrations in the apartment - mainly good ones, but sometimes like a truck was passing by - but this never was a real annoyance. We’d definitely stay here again!

    Sam2018-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia's place was perfect! It was extremely cozy and in a great location with a variety of shops and restaurants in a walkable distance. Perfect for exploring the city. Anastasia was extremely great with communication and offered some wonderful tips and suggestions for my first time visiting Portland! If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely hope to stay here again!

  • Anastasia's place was amazing and as described. We loved everything about it, from the convenience to the privacy she provided. She was very accommodating and always made sure to check-in with her guest, which I personally loved. We didn't see very much of each other, but she was always responsive and again checked in from time to time.

    Mitchell2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • This studio is amazing. I loved its super clean, modern feel. It was located very close to a bus stop making it easy to move about the city. The bagel shop next door was awesome! Anastasia was very nice and responded quickly. Check in and out was a breeze. Would recommend to anyone staying in Portland

    Tasha2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia’s place is the cutest! It’s a perfect size for 2 people! It’s convenient to shopping and eating! We were super excited it was so close to Providence Park because we were in town for the Thorns and Timbers games! My mom and I make it to Portland multiple times a year and we would definitely stay here again!

    Briana2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • I hope I can stay in this gorgeous spot again! Beautiful space, thoughtfully furnished, incredible location- absolutely loved it! Just an FYI- the walls are thin, the first night I did not use the provided white noise machine- and I was up or had weird dreams, second night I did and it was much better, but if you are a light sleeper and not a morning person this wouldn’t be the spot for you... again, loved it and hope to stay again!

Comfortable, modern basement studio with private entrance, only minutes away from downtown and located in safe, quiet Piedmont neighborhood with plenty of on-street parking. Comfy queen size bed, private bath, private kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hot water maker, and all the basic amenities.
Warm and cozy space for two with modern furnishings and its own complete kitchen and bathroom.
Piedmont is a quiet, family oriented neighborhood. There is a large city park a few blocks away with a beautiful rose garden, tennis courts and public pool. The trendy Alberta Arts and Mississippi neighborhoods are nearby.
  • Robert’s place is super cute, modern, clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed and more. He’s space is well maintained inside and out. Secure entrance and neighborhood. It was quiet during our stay. We used Uber to make our way into the the main part of the city. Just 10 mins away and reasonably priced. We didn’t get a chance to meet Robert but this allowed for some privacy and he was very communicative responding to our texts within a reasonable amount of time. We would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Portland. Highly recommend!

    Erica2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place is private, amazingly clean, and fully stocked with everything you need! Private entrance, air/ heater conditioned, full kitchen and a large/ comfy bed. Robert is an excellent communicator and is quick to respond to any questions. He allowed us to drop off our luggage since our plane arrived rather early in the morning and our check-in wasn't until the afternoon. I highly suggest staying at Robert's place if you like being in a safe and quiet neighborhood! Don't question it, just book it!

    Lizette2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Roberts place is great. Modern, spacious with great amenities. Private and has a kitchen if you want to cook. Would stay again if in Portland area.

  • The room was great! It had a full kitchen and bathroom and everything I needed. Robert was very hospitable and cared to make sure I had a great stay. The studio had a lot of security which helped make me feel safer. Overall a great stay in Portland!

  • It was great! Everything you need right at your fingertips. Very very clean which was one of my favorite parts! Also enjoyed the remote to turn off the lights once you’re in bed. So neat!

Spacious master bedroom with private bath, entrance & deck; easy access to transportation, walking distance to N Williams, N Mississippi, The Pearl, Rose Quarter/Convention Center, east side amenities, & Emanuel Hospital. All are welcome! airbnb.com/rooms/2291626?s=51
This is a large master suite with accommodations for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay: a Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee and tea, a refrigerator, a microwave, dishes, knives, and silverware. The room also has cable TV, Queen size bed, foldout futon sofa, airbed in closet, sitting area & desk. "...the bathroom was unexpectedly awesome with two sinks, and such a large shower with dual heads." Heating and air conditioning is a mini-split which keeps the temperature comfortable and quiet.
Eliot neighborhood is full of popular dining establishments, coffee shops, music venues, parks, and the Matt Dishman community center with in-door swimming pool. This is a great close-in Portland community with access to everything you need. Several places for live music include the Secret Society, White Eagle Saloon, Wonder Ballroom and, of course, the Rose Garden Moda Center.
  • Jere's place was AMAZING! It really is a private haven. We actually didn't meet Jere, as the room functions almost like a studio apartment rather than just a room in a house. The room is huge, with a microwave, coffee pot and coffee, desk, flatscreen, a mini fridge, and nice decor to boot. The bathroom is decadent, with a huge open shower, double sinks, and even a huge linen closet with a place to sit and do your makeup. She has extra toiletries too, which came in handy (forgot my toothbrush), and a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and lots of extra towels. This is definitely better and more well-appointed than most hotels. Again, we didn't even meet Jere, so if you're iffy on renting a room rather than a whole home, don't be. She provides complete privacy, and this place really does feel like a complete home rather than a room! Also, the neighborhood is very walkable and close to the happening Mississippi Ave (bars/shops/restaurants), and you can easily get to downtown or any other part of Portland via a close-by bus or cheap Uber. I really can't say enough great things about this place. Jere, thanks so much for providing such amazing accommodations.

    Olivia2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jere is an amazing host and the room is perfect. I moved here to Portland a little over a month ago from TX, and Jere has been instrumental in helping me to acclimate to my new home city. She is very knowledgable, provided maps, invited me on hikes, answered many questions, invited me in to the main part of the home for tea, and even met me after work to walk home (from downtown area). The room is large, clean, and comfortable with a nice private entrance covered deck and a huge bathroom, shower, and walk-in closet. I couldn't ask for a better host family or better accommodations as I begin a new life in Portland!

    Lisa2014-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Jere's place, rooms are spacious cosy and have everything we need, the neighborhood is quiet and nice, the BBQ around the corner is incredibly delicious, we took easy bus rides downtown, we are definitely going to return to Jere's place next time we visit Portland

    Lingzhi2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jere's place was great, we loved the look and feel. Everything was setup nicely and the check in was smooth and easy. Access to downtown was super quick and easy, so was the airport. Highly recommended.

    Bharat2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my time here! I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Portland for business, and otherwise! The place is in a lovely neighborhood and has all the amenities you need. Also, the shower is amazing!

    Sarah2017-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place was lovely, super comfortable, very clean and spacious. On top of that, it was fully equipped with tv, fridge, coffeemaker and a lot of useful touristic guides. Also, it is greatly located, close to Williams and Missisipi streets, so we could walk only a couple of minutes and find several options for food and drinks. Jere was super nice and warm with us. She was always available for anything that we could need.

    Andrea2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay and enjoy Portland. Jere makes sure you have everything you need, from coffee to little snacks. Very convenient to get around. Highly recommend

    Rita2014-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jere has thought of everything. This location is amazing and close to downtown and local eateries. This is our second time staying at Jere’s place and can’t wait to visit Oregon again! I highly recommend this place!

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • We can't say enough good things about our stay in Michael and Jenna's tiny house. It was absolutely perfect. Every detail has been thought of and the location is fantastic. Aside from the houses charm, Michael and Jenna could not have been more lovely. They are very responsive and helpful. They put as much love into their home as they do their guests. Thank you for such an incredible experience. We look forward to staying in your tiny house in Joshua Tree real soon!

  • My husband and I missed the Tiny House as soon as we left! It was the most cosy and sufficient little space. The neighbourhood was fantastic and was a great base for getting around. Michael kept in touch and ensured that all went well for our stay. Jenny has a list of recommended places to go. Although we spent more time wandering and discovering new places, Jenny's list was a great back-up! Within walking distance is great coffee, a fantastic grocery store, Hipcooks (where we took a class in Brazilian cooking), yoga, good food, and more. Thanks to Michael and Jenny for hosting!

  • This was an amazing experience in a perfectly appointed and located home.

  • We had the greatest time staying at the Tiny House! Everything was just as charming as it looked in the pictures, and the location was great. We were able to easily walk to many delicious restaurants and always felt very safe! (One of the reviews I read said that the people thought it was a creepy neighborhood - I disagree!) I would definitely recommend staying here - Michael and Jenna were very helpful and easy to communicate with!

  • We stayed at the Rustic Tiny Little House for a weekend of exploring Portland's Breweries, Coffee roasters and bike paths. Everything about the tiny little house exceeded our expectations, and Michael was a great host. He took us for coffee around the corner and gave expert tips about Portland. We used the bikes extensively, and particularly loved the one with the flowers :). The location of the little house is great, about half-way between downtown and the NE Alberta St district. Very close to the Mississippi area. Altogether, very big thumps-up!

    Sebastian2013-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and had what we needed. Bed was comfortable but a bit of an ordeal to get in and out of from the other side. It is what it is for a tiny house. With space as a premium it is expected there will be some squeeze for those of us 6'4" and more. Great quiet neighborhood. Walking distance from an excellent dining/shopping area. But Portland transit is one of the best I have seen so if you want to get around its truely conveinant to do so.

    Mitch2015-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is is super charming and located in an amazing neighborhood. Just around the corner are tons of great restaurants, shops, coffee places, yoga/barre studios, a wonderful grocery store and more. All are easily in walking distance. The hosts are friendly and responsive. I'd happily stay here again.

    Kate2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place was excellent! I thought the place was going to be smaller than what we got but it was spacious and well organized, clean. The house manual is pretty easy to follow and the recommendations off places to go nearby is on point! I rented it as a surprise for my girlfriend and she loved it. Thank you for having this tiny house, it's perfect!

Light-filled, private 2 story apartment, parking in the driveway, two major bus lines, walking distance to restaurants/bars, shopping & grocery. Separate office area, high-speed internet, great for business travel.
A well-stocked gourmet kitchen, lots of windows to let light in (blackout shade in bedroom to help you sleep!), new comfy pullout sofa, full size washer & dryer, courtyard space outside to chill out, park in the driveway right next to the apartment
The Albert Arts neighborhood has award-winning restaurants, bars and shopping all within walking distance. The apartment is on a major bus line that can get you where you need to go quickly.
  • The guest house was very cozy, clean, comfortable and located in a quiet neighborhood. Great location with nearby coffee shops and restaurants on Alberta and a short drive to downtown. We highly recommend this to anyone visiting Portland!

  • Great space, location, and thoughtful host! We stayed for our honeymoon and he even left us a bottle of champagne. Off-street parking too.

  • We loved our recent stay. It is a great quiet space (there were 2 of us), great location NE of Portland making city trips easy and adventures to Mt Hood easy as well. Cool neighborhood with awesome bungalows, great restaurants , shops and bars just a few blocks away on Almeda. Kitchen had great amenities and we ate many meals at “home.” Would definitely recommend this place!!!

    Erin2018-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tommy’s place is amazing! Great value, very close to everything! We did rent a car but found that most uber trips into Downtown and other hot spots were under $10. The apartment looks just like the pictures, very bright, clean, and stylish. Checking in was a breeze! I would highly recommend it and stay in it again! Thanks Tommy!

Buckman is a close in SE Portland neighborhood which is an increasingly popular place to live. The apartment is at the eastern end of the neighborhood. There are parks, a picturesque cemetery, good restaurants, wine bars, craft brewing pubs and the Laurelhurst movie theater, all within walking distance. The #15 bus line runs to downtown on the other side of the cemetery (6 blocks). A little further afield (just over a mile) is the Hawthorne district where there are some off beat shops and more places to eat and drink. Downtown is 2 miles away. The apartment is part of a new build and is situated at the rear of the property next to the garden It is one story up (over the garage) and receives a lot of natural light. It is fully self-contained, all appliances are new which makes self-catering very easy. What it lacks in history it more than makes up for in convenience! There is also ample free street parking directly outside the house. Buckman is pretty close to downtown while still having a residential flavor. It also contains a number of agreeable restaurants, wine bars and brewpubs. Everyday shopping needs such as grocery stores are also well served. Additionally it is pretty easy to get to the major freeways for travel purposes. Buses run to downtown and back a few blocks over.
  • Roger and Cara were very accommodating, welcoming, and responsive with communication. The room was clean, well equipped, and an all around wonderful place to stay. Thank you Roger and Cara for being part of making the weekend very enjoyable! Ben and Grace

    Benjamin2013-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a nice 6-day stay here in November '13. The studio is lovely and was spotless when we arrived, and being on the second story gives an incredible sense of privacy. The washer and dryer are also great to have when staying more than a couple of nights. A note about location: it's ideal if you want to be able to get west into downtown quickly (about 20 minutes, walking north to catch the bus on Burnside St.), but tougher if you want to go north/south (eg. to visit the Alberta or Division districts it took us 45 minutes by walking/bus). All in all though it was a nice stay. Bamboo Sushi (walking distance from the studio) is a must!

    Lauren2013-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Cara and Roger's studio. As first-timers to Portland, this was the perfect "home base" for exploring the city and all it has to offer. Cara and Roger are a charming and welcoming couple -- they thought of everything you could possibly need and provided it! We fell in love with Portland and will surely be returning for another visit, we hope to stay at the apartment again :)

    Emmylou2014-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The space was beautiful and functional. Cara provided everything we needed including shampoo/conditioner, hair dryer, essential kitchen items, laundry detergent, etc. There were also books and pamphlets of the area to help us navigate the city. Would definitely stay again on my next trip to Portland.

    Alexis2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay in Portland was excellent. The location near restaurants and bars was convenient for walking and we easily drove out of town to explore the Columbia River Gorge. Parking was plentiful on the street. Nearby beer and food is wonderful.

    Cory2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice neighbourhood, walking distance to lots of restaurants. A short drive or über to downtown made it super convenient! Place was well equipped with everything one might need. Would definitely stay again!

    Carmen2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was very clean and comfortable! It had everything we needed and more. Cara left detailed notes about where things were in the apartment and how to use them as well as a list of restaurants and stores in the area. It was all very helpful. The location was perfect for us -- safe and close to public transportation.

    Elizabeth2017-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was absolutely the best possible place to stay while in preparation mode for my daughter's wedding. If I'm lucky enough that this lovely, sparkling new & clean studio apartment is available on my visits to Portland in the future, it will be my go-to place for a home-away-from-home. Everything that I needed was provided - GREAT kitchen! TERRIFIC bed! - and Cara and her husband were welcoming hosts. MANY THANKS! Su (Phone number hidden by Airbnb)

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • Our stay with Brad was filled with a really chill atmosphere. He was very welcoming and knowledgeable(he's travelled a lot!). We had our own floor and it really felt like we were a part of the space. We would very much recommend staying here. Brad was just a kid at heart and pretty damn cool to be around.

    Juan2015-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at the treehouse. Even though we weren't able to spend a lot of time in the house Brad and Becca were there to greet us and show us inside. The space was really neat – clean, cozy and comfortable. The hosts provided everything we needed and we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

    Eric2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Although we only met Brad and Becca for a moment, we felt welcome into their home. We came into the airbnb when they were gone, and they provided all the details necessary to get in and make ourselves at home. The bedroom shown is fairly small, but cozy, and they welcomed us with a note by the bedside with the house information and a chocolate. Sadly, we kept missing eachother! But their cat, Diego, kept us company and made us feel like we actually lived there because he was so sweet! The shower was stocked with a dispenser for shampoo/conditioner/body wash and fresh towels. All in all, we are happy we stayed here. Thank you Brad & Becca! Hope to catch you guys next time.

    Nick2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca were very friendly! Lovely home and very cozy with a set of the sweetest pets. We didn't get to spend much time in the home other than to turn in at the end of the night. But we'll definitely come back again and would stay here again!

    Stephanie2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The reservation was canceled 80 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

    John2014-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was fantastic. We could not have found better hosts for our first Airbnb experience. Brad and Becca were very friendly and didn't seem to mind that we are somewhat shy folk. They definitely go the distance to make their guests comfortable. Their guest bed was exceptionally comfortable (my god those (Website hidden by Airbnb) soft) and the amenities were gracious. The treehouse is absolutely magnificent. Very modern, and clean. It definitely feels like a 'home away from home.' The decorating and greenery perfectly suit the beautiful wooden architecture, and the natural lighting creates an atmosphere that few sanctuaries can rival. If you're looking for a place to rest your mind and soul, look no further. The relaxation comes built-in here.

    William2014-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • My husband I had a great first airbnb experience, we had a lot of questions and Becca was quick to respond. Brad and Becca were extremely helpful with transit questions and places to check out. We would recommend staying there and if we return to Portland we would want to book with them again.

I'm offering a comfortable clean bedroom in the best neighborhood in Portland. Self check in so late night arrivals are no problem. On all major bus lines. New Seasons market one block away and 20+ restaurants in a 15 block radius. Free street parking. LGBTQ friendly. 3 small dogs live here so if you don't love dogs, this is not the place for you.
I'm offering a bedroom in my four bedroom home on the main floor right next to the shared bathroom. The bed is a comfy queen size. My home has a back porch with a cozy deck for eating breakfast and sipping coffee and a picnic area under the arbor for dinner and relaxing. The dogs can be a bit intense, but Rocky is always down for a head scratch.
Dozens of excellent restaurants within walking distance of the house. Two grocery stores within 4 blocks. Major bus lines will take you downtown in ten minutes. Our neighborhood is quiet and clean in the heart of Portland's biking community. We're also within walking distance to the Aladdin Theater so come see a show while you're here!
  • Kara's place was great for our trip to Portland, definitely the walking paradise advertised here. Bars, restaurants and shops all within a few minutes and even closer than they look on the map.

    Grey2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Kara and her roommates were fantastic hosts. They shared their favourite neighbourhood places for eating/drinking and were generally just very easy-going - we felt comfortable and at home right away. Their home was clean, air conditioned, and had a really comfortable bed! We were able to store our bikes in their locked garage too which was great for us. The neighbourhood exceeded our expectations. There are so may cool shops, restaurants and bars and the whole neighbourhood is alive with people enjoying them. It was also so easy to get around on our bikes from Kara's place. There are numerous bike routes just steps from her door - it only takes about 20 minutes to get downtown, and even less to get to some of the other funky neighbourhoods on the east side of the river. Kara's place was really ideal for our stay in Portland and we would definitely stay there again.

    Halli2014-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place was in a really cool neighborhood. Kara supplies you with a list of recommendations. We were able to try out a few and they were all delicious and had cool atmospheres! The bed was very comfortable and Kara was very helpful and flexible with everything!

    Shannon2015-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Kara’s place is just as described. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, it’s a comfortable place to end and begin your day. Communication was quick and clear, accommodations were clean and we loved the funky style. The bed was very comfortable. The dogs were barky greeters, but quieted down quickly. Love the neighborhood.

    Brenda2018-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kara's place is in a perfect neighborhood close to lots of places to check out, was super clean and cute, and she was kind enough to provide us with local Stumptown coffee mmm.

Bright and clean private bedroom just one block off of Mississippi St. district in N. Portland. Minutes from downtown via bike, light rail or car. Easy access to/from the Airport too! Five years in and our five star rating is going strong!
This home is clean, quiet, creative and perfectly situated for an amazingly rich and convenient Portland experience. With a comfortable Queen bed (fits 2), wood floors, ample closet space, garden views and adjacent shared bathroom, you'll feel right at home. Please note that we ask our guests to limit bathroom visits to 15 minutes (especially in the morning) as this space shares a bathroom with an additional Airbnb room. Full access to kitchen, living room with fireplace, and landscaped garden patio with raised beds and seating. The home is full of plants and art from around the world. No pets/Allergen free! The Mississippi St. district is the place to be! Amazing restaurants, food carts, bars, breweries and stellar music venues are literally a minutes walk from the front door. NOT an easy place to get bored! Parking is easy in this safe neighborhood. The MAX light rail system has a stop just minutes away (walking) that can shoot you downtown or drop you off from the airport. Please note that our close proximity to the I-5 freeway does provide some background noise (not really noticeable inside the house). PLEASE NOTE: Arthur and Adam live in an adjacent building on the property. Audra is our house manager and good friend - and lives on the top floor of this home.
Portland's Historic Mississippi District is definitely where you want to stay when visiting the city. A gorgeous and funky stretch full of great shops, award-winning restaurants, an incredible music venue and amazing bars with outdoor patios and inspiring craft cocktails. SUPER easy to get to other parts of the city from here too!
  • Adam and Arthur are simply the sweetest people. The house was clean and warm. They had everything we need and the bed was very comfortable as well. It just couldn't have been any better. I would not choose anywhere else if I ever visit Portland again! Oh, did I mention they provide free beers?

  • Wonderful stay, great location, easy to get in, very clean room and a nice touch of hospitality.

    Charles2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie and Adam were friendly and hospitable hosts. They were even willing to accommodate my early arrival but I ended up getting in later than check-in time. The room was clean and cozy, and the entire house definitely has a nice home-y feeling to it. The neighborhood is quiet and is a super close walk to Mississippi Ave. which houses restaurants, bars, and shops. I rented a car and it was super easy to get across to the west side from their place. I highly recommend this spot for anyone who is visiting Portland.

  • Lovely place and lovely space! Room as picture--very cozy and the place is beautifully decorated. Arthur and Adam (and Rebecca) were wonderful hosts and easy to communicate with. Location is excellent, walkable distance to transit (bus stop and MAX lines), and only 2 blocks away from the Historic Mississippi Street. Would 10/10 recommend and will book again if I'm ever in town. Thanks guys!

  • We had a great time! Perfect location, great hosts. Highly recommended for anyone, especially if you are getting around using public transportation.

    Veronika2014-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house a block away from Mississippi Av! Adam and Arthur make them selves available for any questions you might have. The house is really stylish and you'll find everything you need in it. You'll share the house with the hosts and another Airbnb guest (separate bedroom) so you might find yourself sharing a cup of coffee with someone else! I highly recommend that listing and Will definitly come back here! Thanks guys!

    Teddy2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful simple artistic home. Great smelling towels simple warm easy to relax in.

  • This place is truly a dream! I came to PDX for a wedding and could not have asked for a more comfortable stay. The house is spotless and the beautiful backyard was a welcome change to my NYC rooftop lifestyle. My inner homebody felt super comfortable hanging at the house/in the backyard. Adam and Arthur seem to be running a true bnb...they really know what they're doing! The location is great - shopping, cocktails, and delicious food right on their doorstep. A must-stay.

The bunk room has been created as a nod to the hotel's creation as a safe place for sailors. You'll find the same thing in this space with 18' ceilings- cozy, strong, and comfortable triple bunk beds.
At The Society Hotel, we believe in making every traveler feel authentically connected to our community so they are ready to enjoy our beautiful city from day one. We offer three ways to experience our unique hotel: bunk rooms for the affordable community experience; private rooms with shared bathrooms for comfort without excess; and suites for a bit of affordable luxury. All of our rooms come with plush beds, 10-foot windows, high speed wifi, and a hospitality experience unlike any other.
Old Town is Portland's oldest neighborhood - the original epicenter of Portland, Oregon. It has a colorful history and an equally colorful present! We are the epicenter of Portland's street fashion scene, the nightlife district, as well as a social services haven for those most in need. So expect an eclectic mix from Old Town, and hopefully love it as much as we do!

    Nobuhiro2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Society Hotel is an intelligently restored building in what was once called Chinatown. it is low-key chic. The front desk staff is excellent. The bunk beds are good for single women even though unisex. I loved climbing to the top bunk ( one of three). The curtained bunk is clean and fresh. The bathrooms are clean. The lobby of the hotel has a little welcoming bar for coffee in the morning or wine in front of a fire in the evening. There are also single rooms. I think this place is a gem.

  • nice place to stay. convenient, clean and very affordable.

    Dan2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • The bunkbeds were super spacious and comfy. The bar and rooftop were an ideal place to hangout and meet people. As a solo traveler, this place met my needs perfectly. Would highly recommend to anybody visting Portland!

  • Great place to stay! Especially for me, who was traveling alone. The lobby is a good place to meet people. The hotel is just walking distance from a lot of breweries and shopping. Everyone who works here was nice and helpful!!

  • We were passing through town and received a very nice welcome with some very helpful tips for getting around town!

    Flo2017-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Society Hotel is quiet, cosy and clean. The location is convenient and safe. I would recommend The Society Hotel to anyone!

    Archie2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Even though my stay was short, I enjoyed my time at the Society Hotel. The ladies at the front counter were Superstars and super lovely. The bunk room itself was really cool, lockers are provided and there is also a cubby trunk in the bunks, I had no trouble with my luggage storage. There were no problems with noise, everyone there was respectful and the bathrooms were really clean. The rooftop has cool views over Portland city and is beautiful at Sunset. The cafe down stairs is cute, I recommend the avo on toast! The Society Hotel were kind enough to let me keep my bags stored after check out for the day which I’m so grateful for. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and I only wish that I had stayed longer, highly recommend, I’d definitely go back!

  • Such a cute tiny house!! My boyfriend and I went to Portland for his birthday and were both pleasantly surprised with what we arrived to. The setup is awesome, and the tiny house is nice and cozy and has all the amenities you need. We decided to stay here rather than downtown and we're glad we did because it's a great central location for exploring. Sara is a sweetheart and very responsive to any of your needs. Do yourself a favor - skip the hotel and stay at Sara's; you won't be disappointed! :)

    Jessica2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable. Very clean. Just as described.

    Jessica2017-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Dreamy space, wonderful host!

    Josephine2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is your gateway to a truly authentic Portland experience. Located by Division, you have a close connection to a great neighborhood in Portland. There are also many bus stops close by to get into downtown, Alberta st., and beyond! Sara goes above and beyond providing many homely amenities to make you feel cozy and connected during your stay. At no hotel have I ever had the opportunity to make myself a pour over every single day. This was my first Airbnb experience and I’ll say I will strive to include Airbnb in my future vacations over hotels after my wonderful experience.

    James2018-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location if you want a place accessible to Mt. Tabor, good food, the freeway to the airport/hiking outside of the city. Sara was a great host with great communication and hospitality, and would highly recommend staying with her. The home was clean and had all the amenities you need for a comfortable home for two in Portland. We were able to easily walk around the neighborhood, park our rental car on the street, and take a short lyft ride downtown. Would love to stay here again!

    Kristine2018-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a cozy little bungalow! Sara was a great host. She had everything we could have needed. Great place to relax after long days of exploring. Walking distance to so many great places to eat and shop! The bed was slightly uncomfortable but still a 5 out of 5 with everything else!

    Emma2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for such a warm and pleasant stay. Everything was though of down to the smallest detail. It was the perfect little home to come back to after a full day of activities. I wish every passerby through Portland can experience this cute and small space! Thank you!!

  • Sari and Ed were wonderful hosts with a beautiful in-law apartment. They were available the entire trip , and even sent messages to make sure we were well accommodated. The apartment was fully stocked with what you needed for a trip. They had a complete detailed list of anything you could possibly need in a binder by the window. It was very clean and well organized. I would have to say the pictures don't do it justice; it is a gorgeous place. They made my stay in Portland very easy and calm. I would love to stay here again should I visit Portland.

    Vanessa2015-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little place within walking distance of up and coming neighborhood.

    Matt2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Sari's place is wonderful! My husband and I just stayed at her AirBnB for our pacific northwest honeymoon trip, and we found the apartment to be exactly what we were looking for. Not only is this studio apartment located in a trendy, walkable neighborhood, but Sari was friendly and hospitable as a host. She offered us privacy but made it clear that we could reach out to her for suggestions and assistance at any time. We were hoping to dine-in once in a while and expected to find a small kitchenette that we'd have to get creative with. Instead, we were pleasantly surprised to find a fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils necessary for a homemade meal. The space is clean and well-organized. We highly recommend this!

  • This studio apartment was perfect for my friend and I. The neighborhood is quaint and picturesque, within walking distance to both Division and Hawthorne (tons of shopping, eating, and drinking). The apartment boasts full size appliances for cooking in and a washer/dryer which made packing a breeze. It rained our entire trip so we made use of the games, books, wifi and cable provided. It was our private oasis right off the tree lined street. Easy Uber into downtown.

    Lauren2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place was clean and cozy. Just as advertised. Ed and Sari made everything easy. Great stay!

    Zach2016-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely place and a perfect stay for us a family of 3. It's priced well, is spotlessly clean, and is in the perfect location on the near east side. Hosts were sweet and hope we can stay there again. Everything so well thought through in this house, we couldn't ask for anything more.

    Armen2015-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome! Clean, quiet, close to food, downtown, walkable, (did I say clean!) and all the amentities you would want for a business stay or personal visit to Portland. Hope we can stay here again. --Michelle .

Chapel Pub, Florida Room, Seraveza, Red E Cafe, E'njoni, Killingsworth Public Library, Pho Jasmine, and many more restaurants & shops right within a short walking radius of the cottage (2-5 blocks).
  • My two sisters and I had a relaxing stay at Heather and Topher's cottage. It was easy to get to using public transit from PDX. The cottage was clean, quiet and cozy and a welcome retreat each day after exploring the many sights that Portland has to offer. Although we did not get the opportunity to meet Heather and Topher on this trip, they were communicative and responsive to our needs.

    Catherine2014-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Heather and Topher did everything possible to make this a wonderful experience for us. They were super communicative, dealt with all of my requests for information and recommendations with enthusiasm, and welcomed us like family. The house is super-adorable, very sweet, very clean. Everything we needed was right there. Great location: we love to walk and did a great deal of it from their home out into the city. We took a few uber rides and all the rates were quite reasonable so we are talking about an excellent location. PLUS: right across the street from the rose garden, gorgeous. We will be recommending them to everyone and we look forward to coming back for a more extended visit. My nine-year-old son says, "it was awesome!"

    Kerri2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at Heather's place and she and her husband were wonderful hosts! The space itself is great - perfect for a couple (or in our case a couple and a one-year-old). Having come from Nevada, where it is practically on fire 24/7, it was nice to sit with the windows open smelling the rain and listening to the waterfall outside on the patio. The house was clean and well taken care of - the photos you see on Heather's page are a great representation of what you can expect. The neighborhood was also quite nice and we felt safe and comfortable the whole time. I don't know my way around Portland all that well, but we seemed to have easy access to get anywhere we needed to go - so it seems conveniently located as well. Heather and Topher were also great hosts in making us feel welcome giving us tips about places to check out. We'll definitely put this place at the top of our list next time we head up there!

    Andy2012-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Air BnB experience. We had no idea what to expect, and we couldn't have imagined it any better! Heather & Topher were great hosts, with many suggestions for places to experience in the city. Although we were on vacation, it felt very much like being at home. The cottage was a very comfortable and relaxing place to go back to after a full day of exploring Portland. We were out and about most of the time, but the times we did see Heather, Topher, and family, conversation was great. Very hospitable and welcoming experience. We look forward to visiting again.

    Tyler2015-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Charming and perfectly outfitted! Great location - very easy to access everything we wanted to see & do. Our stay in Portland was made even better by our accommodations & helpful tips from our hosts.

    melinda2012-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great location, value, and the owners are about as helpful as it is possible to be. The location feels very safe and secure, and it is quite and beautiful. The hosts were fantastic. This was our first Airbnb rental and they were very patient with us as we had questions throughout the reservation process. I cannot say enough about how great this location was and how helpful, understanding, and easy to work with the hosts were. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking to stay in Portland.

    Jason2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely home in a delightful, peaceful neighborhood. Heather and Topher struck a wonderful balance between giving space and making me feel cared for and welcome! The cottage is so sweet. I slept up in the loft, which was so quiet and tranquil, I haven't slept so well in years!

  • Paul was an excellent and welcoming host. The space was clean, easily accessible, and filled with thoughtful touches. Would stay here again, no question!

  • Paul is a very gracious host and his suite suited out needs perfectly

    Willie2015-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was a great host that made staying in portland super easy! We checked in later than expected and Paul was still able to accommodate us! Definitely recommend!

    James2015-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Felt very welcome - Paul is an attentive host - but not overbearing. Everything was as expected, very clean, very good location - a very nice stay. Thanks Paul!

  • We were in Portland for a trade show. The Funky Pad was a great place to stay because it is so close to the Convention Center, just a few minutes away. We also found a great Lebanese restaurant within walking distance (We ate dinner there both nights!) The "Pad" was well equipped, as noted in the listing and was really spacious. To top it off Paul, the host, was very easy to get to know and seemed very comfortable with guests in his home. We left and returned to the house each time without ever feeling like we were intruding. Paul exemplifies the spirit of being an airbnb host, sort of like a modern day innkeeper. I am looking forward to our next stay at the Funky Pad.

    Steve2014-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was great! Although we never had the pleasure of meeting face-to-face, he still made sure that the space was ready for me, and he made it very clear that he was available for any questions, recommendations, etc. The space was exactly as pictured and described. It was very comfortable and cozy, and the neighborhood was lovely. I'd definitely stay here again!

    Sebastian2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was lovely.Paul was a perfect host, personable but not invasive. The suite is nicer than the pics show. Only drawback is the busy street, but that didn't bother us. We had to come in late, but no problem at all.

    John2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the Funky Pad Suit! Four of us stayed here for a night, this place is very well maintained, comfortable and sound proof. The location is awesome, there is a beautiful park opposite and lots of parking around the area. It is also very close to downtown. Paul and Carolyn were very friendly and accommodating - they had our room ready early so we could drop off our bags. They also gave several great suggestions for local restaurants! Will definitely consider this place again for future visits!

  • Wonderful, very clean appartment! Near many good restaurants. Good pick!

    Denise2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ronald and Paul's place was absolutely perfect for our quick trip to PDX. We absolutely loved everything about the apartment and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay at. I LOVED the coffee maker!

    Ashlee2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival we met Paul, who was super kind and showed us around the studio apartment. The apartment was squeaky clean and was wonderfully decorated. The bed was comfortable, the coffee maker was magical, and the location was perfect. It was a really great place to stay and I would totally come back again.

    Caryn2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very clean and modern. Ron made sure to get us the keys quickly and was an excellent host. Location is a quick walk from a few bars and restaurants. The neighborhood is a nice residential area.

    Morgan2016-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ronald has a wonderful little apartment in a great neighborhood. Very easy to walk to Mississippi street and see the shops and restaurants. Apartment looked just like the pictures and was very clean and well-stocked with high-quality amenities like cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, kitchenware, nice coffee and tea, towels and Amazon TV with Netflix, Hulu and more, just to name a few. He left a note on the kitchen table explaining how to use things like the coffee maker and jets in the tub. Unfortunately, the fridge wasn't working the whole time we were there, but the freezer was. Lighting in the bathroom was a little dim and without a wall separating the bathroom from the rest of the apartment, you really can hear everything going on in there. Had a little trouble with the code to access the lock box because we were supposed to receive it a couple days before our trip, but didn't receive it until a couple hours before check in time. All worked out fine, however, and I was very happy with our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks Ron!

    Alejandro2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Wayne and company were great hosts—my flight was delayed and I didn’t get in until late, they were able to send early check in information and left the lights on for me upon arrival. The apartment was above and beyond, spotless and super cozy with lots of thoughtful local touches.

    Becky2018-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ronald's place was perfect for what we wanted. It is very walkable to many fun shops and restaurants. The space is very modern and has some really nice features such as heated concrete floors and a fancy coffee maker. Check in and out was easy and Ron was helpful with recommendations as well as respecting our privacy while we were there. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommend.

    Ashley2017-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great. The location is ideal for people looking to spend time both downtown and in a small suburb with excellent food and shops in walking distance. Ron was a fantastic host who was always available if needed (even at 4am when we were trying to leave but couldn't open the lockbox). The bed was super comfy and the decor was really nice. Well kept suite with basically everything brand new. Only downside was there is no door when using the bathroom (there is just a curtain). Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cool spot in Portland.

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests total at a time at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was just an empty crooked shed with no electricity, water or heat and it was filled with trash. Todji purchased the old neglected rental in 2004 when self-employed artists could get a loan. After fifteen years of restoring the main house, while building a career as a sculptor, Todji and Gisele decided to convert the sculpture studio into a "Magic Barn" to host travelers and guests such as yourself! During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from all around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele have taken on the profession of being Airbnb "Artist Inn Keepers" to help support the cultivation of their artistic practices, and to share their creative work with you. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day, please feel free to take a postcard home and visit their sculpture website.
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) Harlow- 36th and Hawthorne, Hip and Healthy, great for lunch, or fresh veggie juice. Por Que No- 46th and Hawthorne, Wildly popular Mexican with a great playful decor. (Don’t be intimidated by the line, you order at the counter, and then get a seat and your order will be out in no time) Pok Pok- 32nd and Division, There are literally 11 Thai restaurants in walking distance, but Pok Pok is the best. Began as a food cart, but grew into a Restaurant Empire. Worth the wait. Bollywood Theater- 30th and Division, Indian food small plates. Also along line but worth it! Salt and Straw- 33rd and Division, Food Networks top five ice creams! Super Popular! Lauretta Jeans- 34th and Division, Breathtaking Pies! Tidbit Food Cart Pod, 28th and Division, Fabulous food cart selection, lots of seating, including a beer garden and vintage clothing bus. A truly Portland experience. Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. • Wow! What can I say? The Magic Barn is truly amazing. My sister and I stayed here for a very cold and icy Sunday evening. They had an extra mattress so there was ample comfortable sleeping. It was heated very well from the fireplace, despite the 23 degree weather outside. Everything about the place is well thought out and absolutely beautiful. The plants, the wonderful sculpture art, the thoughtful decorating, vaulted ceilings and of course, the giant skylights made this place a unique and wondrous place to stay. This is a great example of why AirBnb is superior to traditional hotel lodging. It is obvious the owners have put time and energy into making the Magic Barn a special place. A sparkling five stars. I will be recommending this place to my friend and family. Thanks Todji and Gisele!

  • Magic Barn is the perfect Portland home to stay at! Completely sums up what Portland is all about! The most beautiful and comfortable living quarters, you have free reign of your own little home. You can cook, sleep and relax or walk to local bars, restaurants and shopping! Our first trip to Portland started with Magic barn and we can’t wait to comeback!! Thank you so much for hosting us!

    Brendan2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • The magic barn is not only cozy and beautiful but close to shops and restaurants. The hosts made it simple to check in. If in Portland, check this place out!

  • My family and I stayed at Todji and Gisele's stunning space for 3 nights this past weekend. The Magic Barn is truly magical. "Magic" is the best way to describe it. I must have said "oh my god, I would love to live here" at least a dozen times during my stay. My parents and I found all of our necessities met within the comforts of the small space. Although small, The Magic Barn is equipped with a claw foot bathtub, a fully working kitchen (with wine glasses that we were happy to use) and even a beautiful little heater that we also took advantage of. The space has very high ceilings as well as beautifully placed skylights which really open the space up. The wood is beautiful, the plants are beautiful, I could really go on and on... I highly recommend The Magic Barn. It is close to Divison and many other lovely areas walking distance. Thank you Todji and Gisele!

    Nare2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing stay at the magic barn! The place was absolutely adorable, had everything we could have needed and was in a great location. It was cozy and funky and I would love to stay there again next time I am in town.

    Anja2015-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really cool, beautiful, calming space. Walking distance to tons of great places to chill and eat on Hawthorne. Highly recommend.

    Garrett2018-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Magic Barn is in a wonderful location - only a few blocks from two of our favorite Portland neighborhoods (both full of unique shops and restaurants). The space itself is very sweet - lovely design and great artistic touches. Very clean. Very easy communication and response.

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • The Portland Tiny House is the most charming airbnb property my fiancé and I have ever stayed in! The listing is accurate, and we appreciated that the tiny house, though in a backyard, feels set apart and private, with its own entrance and little patio. The neighborhood is another fantastic reason to stay here. We couldn't believe we were in such close walking distance of coffee + nice restaurants + The Kennedy School which had been on our list of places to grab a cocktail. The space is thoughtfully curated, bright, and happy. The hosts left great recommendations of where to eat + drink in Portland. Staying here was truly the highlight of our PNW road trip, and a great base for exploring the city. I wish we could have stayed a week!

    Nicole2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved the tiny house! Only good things to say about it. Perfectly set up, with everything you could need. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable.. Almost better than home! A good location; super close to public transportation which was great since we didn't have a car. A walk down the alley to Extracto coffee roasters every morning was awesome. We would definitely stay here again!

    Shelby2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is adorable!! Bright and clean and not-tiny-feeling whatsoever! It is, however, cozy and charming. While we were out adventuring on the coast and Mount Hood for a good bit of our stay, we admittedly did not spend much time in the space. YET: waking up to the home with such beautiful accents and efficient use of space and light definitely started the days off on a good note. The shower was heavenly after a long day. I enjoyed leafing through the books left at the bedside and admired the woven tapestries that adorned the space. The hosts provided for our every want or need, including Stumptown coffee which was stocked in the kitchen. My only regret it I did not have a chance to grab a fresh egg from the backyard chickens for breakfast, as we hit the road very early each day. The location of the tiny house within the main house's gate left us feeling very secure. The neighborhood was nice and we felt safe walking the area to Alberta Street.

  • Loved Duston and Genevieve's tiny house! It's cute and cosy - a wonderful retreat from the crazy week of travelling. Feeling so inspired and well rested after staying there - wished we could of stayed longer! They are really responsive. We found their suggestions of things to do in the area super helpful. Thank youuu!

    Andrew2016-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had such a lovely stay at Duston's & Genevieve's tiny house. The place is adorable and has everything you need for a quick and comfortable stay. The tiny house is only a short walk to a lot of fun bars and restaurants on Alberta St. The couple were very accessible and answered any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again the next time we come to Portland.

    Abigail2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This adorable tiny home may be small in size but it is big on style and functionality. It is in a great location with food and fun all within walking distance. The home has all that you may need for your stay and is so comfy. Duston and Genevieve are great hosts with excellent communication. The day we were supposed to arrive we got a message from them saying it was a bit warmer in Portland than it normally is and that they will put a fan in the home for us. Very thoughtful. Thank you again for a great stay! We will be back.

    Dawn2018-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the tiny house, it was very clean and nicely done. Great atmosphere to sit outside and enjoy their lovely yard, that also includes a great chicken coop. (It's given us ideas for our own). Close to shops and such. Overall had a great experience in portland and this location being central made it easy to travel out and come back to relax.

    Tim2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • If you find even a one day opening for this home, book it. Duston and Genevieve's home is cozy, clean, and central to everything cool in the neighborhood. I pretty much followed their recommendations to a T and loved every one! They made me feel like a local, which is what the best hosts should do. The Tiny House is a gem.

This 3rd floor loft is located in the N. Williams District, on a main bike route, across the street from a bus stop, close to the street car and light rail. It is an eclectic 900 sqft self contained unit with amazing views on the top floor of a 1900's Victorian. This stretch of Williams Ave has a more industrial feel but we are just a few blocks from eateries & libations. Walk to the Convention Center, Moda Center and the Pearl District.
-The view is amazing. -Efficiency style open kitchen with 2 stove top burners, toaster oven, french press, cookware, full dishware & glassware plus a real fridge with freezer. -comfy queen bed & nice Egyptian cotton sheets -new heating system with Air Conditioning! -2 wifi networks -a slew of information & maps on Portland & surrounding areas such as the Columbia Gorge, Oregon Coast, wine country etc. -Walk to the heart of the Williams District -Walk to the convention Center & Moda -Walk into the Pearl District (20min.)
Building on its reputation for bicycles, beers and brunch, the Williams District has evolved into a dynamic, must-see destination for locals and visitors alike. With its broad array of eateries, breweries, characters, shops and services, the district is a veritable composite of all the best Portland has to offer. The Williams District includes more than 150 businesses and is also defined by its rich cultural history. In the 1940s and ’50s, Williams Avenue was teeming with jazz clubs and speakeasies. Today located just down the street is the historic Billy Webb elks lodge. On a Friday or Saturday night it is not rare to sit on the deck and hear the DJ spinning.
  • Awesome place! Very convenient to lots of restaurants and breweries (Lompoc, HUB, Ex Novo). Highly recommend checking out Ned Ludd--amazing food and awesome atmosphere. Tyra is super easy to communicate with and the house has everything you'd need for your visit. They keyless entry is really convenient and makes check in/out a breeze.

    Meghan2015-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tyra was easy to communicate with before my arrival and during my stay. She also offered many recommendations. I was visiting for work, and the loft was only a 15 minute walk from the convention center. Also close to public transportation and a lot of restaurants. Loft itself was very clean and had all the necessities. You can't beat the gorgeous view of downtown from the deck! Highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Portland!

    Ninalynn2015-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place to stay. Located in cute area and walkable to lots of good places to eat. Just as pictured and the patio was a perfect spot to sit and look out at the Columbia river and sunset. And just a quick 7 min drive to downtown Portland.

    Emily2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, cozy place and fantastic hosts! So very helpful with arriving and transportation info for Portland. Enjoyable with patio, comfy bed and couch, and cute kitchen. Super helpful binder, maps, and notes when you arrive! Also, such a great view that is still one of a kind currently! No one around you has a 4th story loft or the same view of Portland yet. I recommend enjoying the view on the patio in the evening. Just gorgeous! Thank you for a great time in Portland!

    Jessica2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and accommodating

    Elisa2017-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Tyra welcomed us with a big bowl of plums from the tree in the backyard and they were delicious. The loft is very nice and exactly as described. We walked around Williams District, had some great coffee and did our laundry at the super cool spin laundry lounge. Downtown is a quick walk across the bridge. It was a wonderful experience!

    Wendy2015-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • My stay in Portland was fantastic thanks to Tyra and this lovely apartment! Tyra was very responsive and the apartment was clean and had all of the amenities. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Portland.

Relaxed, spacious + light boho-modern basement apartment with private entry. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. It's a great landing pad to explore Portland! 15 minutes from the airport and downtown, ample free street parking and wi-fi . We are within walking distance to sooo many outstanding restaurants, coffee + bars: Breakside Brewery, The Firehouse, Tamale Boy, Tough Luck Bar, Dame, Beast, Expatriot, DOC, and many other great restaurants, brewpubs and boutiques.
The apartment is located in our mid-century home on a quiet residential street in the hip Concordia neighborhood. Situated between the exciting Alberta Arts District, Concordia University and the up-and-coming Woodlawn neighborhood, you cannot beat the selection of great restaurants, shops, and parks within walking or biking distance. Whether you just want to chill in front of the wood-burning fireplace, wander the neighborhood, or have a glass of wine outside, feel free to relax and make yourself at home. With a full kitchen at your disposal you can make the most out of the local farmer’s markets and excellent grocery stores in the neighborhood too. This space is ideal for business travelers, with wi-fi and a full kitchen. We enjoy meeting all of our guests, but we respect your privacy and space as well. Please feel free to interact with us as much, or as little, as you'd like. We live just a short 10-15 minute drive from Portland International Airport (PDX). We are located about 10-12 minutes from downtown Portland by car. Public transportation is just a few blocks away.
The Concordia neighborhood is unique in its diversity, with long-time residents, young families and college students attending Concordia University. Other great attributes: - Close to downtown, and about 15 minutes from the airport. - Incredible restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, art galleries, music, and street art are a short walk or bike ride away. - One block from public transportation that drops you downtown before you know it! - Close to our favorite grocery store (New Seasons) with organic food, local products, and an excellent source for gifts or mementos of your stay. - Beautiful Woodlawn, Alberta and Fernhill Parks are within 6 -12 blocks away, or head to Forest Park for great hiking in the middle of the city. - Concordia University is two blocks away, and a great place to stop by to watch a baseball or soccer game in their beautiful open stadium, check out their grounds or wander into the library.
  • Hands down one of the best places we’ve stayed with AirBnB. Melissa was a great host and had such a great place. In a great location within walking distance of plenty of restaurants and neighborhoods to explore. We will definitely come back to visit Truman and the rest of Portland!

    Tyler2018-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa was very accommodating and so very kind. The space was very clean and well-styled! In a fun area easily accessible to lots of Portland’s trendy spots - great all around!

    Amanda2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa’s place is amazing! The place is the perfect size for 2 people and it’s such a great location as well! Melissa was very sweet and answered all the questions I had prior to the stay. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to stay a bit outside the downtown area.

    Riyana2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great hosts! Airbnb description and pictures are accurate. 15 min drive to downtown!

    Lara2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Superfijn appartement, eigenaresse is erg vriendelijk en heeft ons tips gegeven, eitjes en locale biertjes in de koelkast achtergelaten en vriendelijk ontvangen. Studio met grote keuken, helemaal nieuw en schoon. Leuke locatie. Top!

    Merel2018-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I stayed at Melissa's place for a week. We were looking for a relaxing week away from work, to just relax and enjoy Portland. Melissa's place allowed us to do just that! We made breakfast every morning in the space + she left Stumptown coffee beans for us to use! The space was great - we had our own entrance - it was downstairs from where she lives, so we had our own bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, etc. It was very clean and she left a binder of suggested places along with menus. The heater works very well - as we were there in the dead of winter! The Airbnb is not incredibly close to downtown, but almost everywhere in Portland, you need a car anyway. It's about a 5min drive from Alberta, which is where we spent most of our time. Great food, bar, and scene! Thanks, Melissa for an awesome stay :)

    Gina2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great stay. Everything was exactly as advertised. Nice place in a decent neighborhood. I drove all over town and this felt just 15 minutes away from everywhere. I went running around the neighborhood at night and there were people out walking their dogs and running, everyone was nice. Bed was comfortable. Had everything in the kitchen and Melissa was a great host, easy to communicate with and super helpful. Highly recommended.

Lovely 2 br. cottage nestled beside a pond w water feature. Kitchen, open sleeping loft with skylights, bath w shower and washer/dryer. Lots of natural light. Can accommodate an entire family comfortably. Private entry on lg. lot through gated backyard.
Nestled in the back corner of a large lot under the canopy of a beautiful mimosa tree, this private cottage offers a full kitchen with sit-up bar, a full bath with a washer/dryer, and a sleeping loft with crow's nest. It's perfect for a couple, two couples, or a small family.
And all of this just 15 minutes from downtown.
  • My wife and two daughters (ages 13 and 11) had a wonderful stay at Jack and Cris' backyard cottage... it was even more quaint and charming than we hoped. Great walkable neighborhood with tons of restaurants, pubs, and coffeeshops nearby. Oh, and yes the line at Salt and Straw (awesome gourmet ice cream, also walkable) is totally worthy it. If you're looking for local beer, don't miss the little neighborhood market about two blocks away... great selection. Jack and Cris are lovely hosts... the french press was very welcome (Jack knows his coffee ;-) ). Oh, and say hi to the kitties as they lounge in the backyard... they're so sweet!

    Josh2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • This little backyard cottage was amazing! Close to division st with restaurants and bakeries. Jack helped us lock up our bikes in a safe spot and even came up with a hairdryer when we requested one. Great coffee, very cozy, lovely stay. Thanks!

    Katie2016-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was just as it was described except that it was far sweeter a place than they modestly foretold. The pond outside the door of the cottage was so lovely and the coffee left for us was perfect. Jack and Cris even left us half and half!

    Laurie2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a pleasant stay! The cottage is even more lovely in person and is spacious and comfortable. The pond and backyard make you feel like your in the country when your really only a 5-10 minute walk from lots of great restaurants and bars. Thank you for a great stay Jack and Cris!

    Chelsea2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was in a beautiful setting and was perfect for my husband and me plus my sister who claimed the upstairs room. The location was convenient for walking to fun dining and we always found parking right out front. Would definitely stay again. Thanks!

    Pam2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house was amazing. It's a little cottage in the backyard behind the main house. Yard is fantastic. It's loft style- one queen bed in the living room, one upstairs. They provided basic amenities like coffee, which was great.

    Jenny2016-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jack was very welcoming, and they cottage was just lovely. We wish we could have stayed longer to take full advantage of this Air BnB and to explore the neighborhood it is located in. Thank you!

It was also a short drive to downtown and the Pearl District. Eduardo was accommodating and very respectful of our privacy. I would definitely stay here again.

  • Eduardo’s place was amazing!!! We had a quick stay of 2 nights, but loved every moment spent in the guest house. Not only was it idyllic and exactly as pictured on the listing, but he had absolutely everything you would need for a home away from home experience. The Alberta/Killingsworth District is in close proximity to really good local eats such as Pok Pok Asian cuisine and Knockout Taco Mexican food. We were able to walk from the house to these restaurants with ease, and then took Lyft rides to the downtown area, which was only a few miles from where the house was located. The property is also very close to the Nike factory store, where both my bf and I splurged because of the 0 sales tax in OR! We also did not rent a car, so we were a bit concerned that the downtown area would be a hassle to continuously take public transportation to and from, however, our Lyft rides were no more than 10 min and not expensive at all while we stayed there. The guest house was very modern, thoughtfully decorated, and very clean. It is equipped with all the amenities one would need on a short or long getaway: a decent sized kitchen, island counter top for eating, flatware, plenty of cooking utensils, washer/dryer, a remote controlled heater/AC unit, and even a pull out sofa bed if extra guests were to stay as well. The two days we spent in Portland were both raining and cold, so the accessible remote controlled heater unit definitely came in handy! The WiFi network was quick and easy to connect to. As previously mentioned in other reviews, I brought my own devices for streaming because this house does not have a tv. Other than that, we loved our time here. The bed was very comfortably, neighborhood was safe, and the location was great. To top off an already exquisite experience, Eduardo was so communicative whenever I had questions throughout our stay. Mainly my concerns were regarding an earlier check-in and later check-out to accommodate for our travel plans. Eduardo was very hospitable and met all my requests within a speedy response time. He even gave us a surprise treat with a bottle of red wine waiting for us upon Check- in. If we ever are in Portland again, I will definitely be staying at Eduardo’s guest house. It is the best Airbnb experience I’ve had thus far. Thanks Eduardo!!!!

We offer an elegant, cozy, private guest room with private ensuite bathroom, it's own private entrance and private arbored deck. The carrera marble bath tiles are heated for winters, and the deck and garden have seating areas for summer. Like a little hotel room, this queen-bed suite is ideal for 1 or 2 who would like an entirely separate space, but don't need a full kitchen. The room features microwave, mini-fridge, teakettle & basic flatware - ideal for simple breakfasts or reheated leftovers.
This suite is unique in that it is an entirely private, hotel-room-like space designed for your privacy and independence. The suite is like a little hotel room off of our Southern-facing garden - neither we nor you have access into each other's space during your stay. You enter and leave through your own entrance off of your own arbored deck with cafe table and chairs. This suite is perfect for travelers who, not needing a full kitchen or shared living space, prefer a private and well-appointed bedroom and bathroom to call their own during their stay, with a private entrance and deck that allow for independent check in and check out and all of the amenities that you would expect in a higher-end hotel room, including snacks and refreshments, tea and instant coffee, a microwave, mini-fridge, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, fresh towels and bedding and thoughtful, simple furnishings. The room and deck face south and east, with a lot of natural light and air flow. While some travelers love the unexpected interactions they discover with shared rooms in shared houses, our guest suite offers a bedroom and bathroom accommodation that is simpler than an entire apartment, but with all of the advantages of a totally private space for those that prefer privacy and independence.
Food in our immediate walkable neighborhood is insanely awesome: #1: Ps & Qs Market: Go for lunch or dinner any day, or brunch on the weekends; go early in your stay, because you'll want to return for more. This is a hipster bodega, with a deli case and full kitchen, like a Vermont country store. It's a hit through Portland, and people travel to our neighborhood just to eat there. 5 blocks away. #2: Woodlawn Cafe and Bakery: Super baristas and pastries. Also serving artisanal breakfast and lunch plates until about 5 or 6pm. 3 blocks away. #3: Breakside Brewery: This might be number 1 if you're a beer fan, as it is a famous regional brewery with decent brewpub cuisine. 3 blocks away. #4: Tamale Boy: Awesome and unique Mexican food, specializing in tamales, but with a broad menu. 8 blocks away, and adjoined by a decent gelato place and a funky meed bar. #5: Firehouse Restaurant: Upscale Italian restaurant featuring wood-fired pizza and higher-end Italian cuisine. Might need a reservation, but sometimes walk-ins work. 3 blocks away. #6: The Public House: A unique non-profit brew-pub where your profits are donated to the local charity of your choice. The food is really good overall. 4 blocks away. #7: Good Neighbor Pizza: Basic pizza by the slice and a bar, good for a meal on a dime, or late night (until 2am). 4 blocks away. #8: Woodlawn Farmers' Market: Every Saturday from 10am-2pm, May 21 - October 29. A handful of really fun food vendors with prepared meals that are surprisingly awesome. 3 blocks away. #9: Gram Central Station: Weed is recreationally legal in Oregon; buy a joint, and tell your friends back home about it. Just don't smoke it in your room, of course! :) 7 blocks away. #10: Hat Yai: Radically amazing Thai street food, pretty famous here in town. 13 blocks away. #11: Padna's BBQ: Seriously legit Texas-style BBQ, pretty famous here in town. 13 blocks away. #12: Prospect Bottle Shop: Curated beer, wine and cider to go, plus a little bar with small plates for tastings. 13 blocks away. Additionally, Safeway, Walgreens, Starbucks and Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen are all 9 blocks away, if you're needing to feel that big-box love and restock. We're also a short walk, bike, bus or drive from Alberta Arts District or Mississippi District, but really, the food around our own neighborhood is NICE. People who live throughout North/Northeast Portland come to our neighborhood all the time for food and drink. Alberta Arts district has great boutiques and art galleries (and the food options there are awesome too - our favorites are Boxer Ramen, Bollywood Theater (Indian street food), Salt 'n Straw Ice Cream, Random Order Pie House, Stella Tacos, Barista or Cafe Vita for coffee, Helzer's for Brunch, Tasty 'n Son's for lunch or dinner, Por Que No? for Mexican lunch/dinner/brunch... there are literally too many places to mention).
  • The experience at Michael and Blake's was a really warm, welcoming, and lovely experience. From their charming, beautiful garden, to the quaint guest house (with everything you need and more), we truly enjoyed our stay! Michael and Blake are incredibly kind and hospitable, and we're always available to answer any questions. I would stay here again in a heart beat! You're very lucky if you choose this place!

  • we loved our stay, Our gracious hosts couldn't have treated us any better. Every detail was thought about and attended to. The suite is cozy and peaceful. The back porch overlooks one of the nicest backyards I have ever seen. Mat and I enjoyed many hours sitting and relaxing. The neighborhood is vibrant, friendly and safe. There are many dining options that are within walking distance. One of our favorites a coffee shop that Michael recommended. We went there everyday for the coffee and the quiche.

  • If you want a place to stay in an authentic neighborhood, but don't need a kitchen or apartment, this is the spot. Blake and Holcombe's suite was lovely, clean, and comfortable. The heated tile floor and claw foot bathtub are amazing touches. The hosts accomodated our request for an early check-in; communication was easy and quick. The best part of this suite is the beautiful back area of the house with your own private deck with chairs and a garden. We happened to be there on a sunny day and spent some time out there. The hosts also left us chocolate and snacks, as well as a stocked mini fridge. The neighborhood market, cafe, and bars were also a plus. Parking is free and plentiful. Book this place!

  • My husband and I stayed here for several nights while visiting for a wedding. It was the perfect location in a charming neighborhood with lots of restaurants and places to explore nearby. The room itself was very well designed and well kept. We loved all the small details and the care that Michael and Blake put into making the space comfortable with magazines, snacks, toiletries, and helpful tips on how to use everything. You can really tell they have a lot of pride in their home and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We also enjoyed sitting out on the deck in the evening taking in the views of their beautiful garden. We will definitely stay here again next time we are in town!

  • Anyone looking to stay in Portland needs to check out this guest suite. It's the perfect size for 1 or 2 people, and the amenities and comfort are better than most hotels I've visited. Beautiful place with a beautiful atmosphere.

  • We loved staying here! Stylish decor with beautiful garden to sit in. Enjoyed our coffee on the porch overlooking the garden then walked a few blocks to have a delicious breakfast at the recommended Woodlawn Cafe and dinner at the Firehouse. One of the most comfortable beds on our travels and loved the heated floor in the bathroom! Would definitely return.

  • This is a wonderful place to stay! The listing describes it to a tee. It was clean, comfortable, cozy and the claw-foot tub was wonderful during the rare snow storm in Portland. Michael and Blake are great hosts and ready to help with anything yet they respect your privacy. I'd highly recommend staying here and I'll be back for sure!

NEW MURPHY BED w/ comfy mattress. Great little tiny house in a fantastic neighborhood. It is cozy and modern. It's a tiny, stand alone house with a private bathroom, but no real kitchen. Short Term Rental Permit Numb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) HO
Brand new, tiny-home style house. 200 sq ft. Covered porch. Full bath with standing tile shower. Full-size wall bed "Murphy bed" installed December 2015. Bamboo floors & reclaimed wood stairs. No kitchen, but has a microwave for heating up leftovers, water, or popcorn. Wifi. This is one block off Mississippi Ave, with many bars, restaurants, and one of the best coffee shops (Fresh Pot) in Portland. A block away from Amnesia Brewing and Grand Central bakery. 10 minute walk from the Yellow Line MAX (Overlook station.) Mississippi Studios is right down the street- a fantastic venue for local and traveling bands.
  • What a great location! These houses are as cute as they seem. Passersby would stop and take a photo if we were standing on the porch. A car stopped and said "Hey, are these those mini-houses I've read so much about?" Anyway, they're nice. A great value. Rick is a good, responsive host.

  • Place was very comfortable however the house was not cleaned by the time I got there at 3:30. Rick got it done and agreed to refund my cleaning fee. Very comfortable bed and great location. My suggestion is a coffee maker and some wine glasses. Plates too.

  • Rick and his little pink house were fantastic. The house was spotless and perfect for what we were looking for. Being a Brit I really liked that there was a kettle in the house! :) The location was superb. We spent lots of time on Mississippi Ave. The restaurants in the area are fantastic! Parking was easy too. I would highly recommend the little pink house!

  • This is a great little place to stay in a very fun neighborhood with easy transit access. Thanks Rick!

  • The Little Pink house is super cute. It's super tiny so I don't recommend more than two persons at one time. (Watch your head with the low ceiling at the top of the ladder!) But, the light that comes through this place is great. The location is just minutes from all the fun stuff, lots of great restaurants within walking distance. I really enjoyed my stay here.

  • The little pink house was perfect for a home base in Portland for a few days - it had everything we needed, including charm. It's convenient to a ton of places (you can even walk over to Tasty & Sons for brunch right when they open, before the line forms!) and not more than a 10-minute walk from the MAX. It feels entirely private, but you're well taken care of; it's like a hotel room with much more personality (and no loud neighbors through the walls). If we're looking for a place to stay in the future, we'll definitely be back.

  • Super location for enjoying the Mississippi hood. In addition, the one night minimum was great! Easy to settle in with the Murphy bed. Definitely would stay again, especially at a better time of the year to enjoy the garden! Great rate!

  • Had a great time on Mississippi and staying at the pink house. Good time! Looking forward to another trip during the summer months.

This was our first trip to Portland - and it won't be our last. We absolutely loved it! And Adam and Arthur's home and hospitality had plenty to do with that. Their home is beautiful, with amazing art work. There were nice little touches, like free beer in the fridge and chocolates in the room. While we didn't see them often they were always available via text and answered questions quickly. They are very close to the bus - Poertland has great public transportation. It's a beautiful city and we enjoyed staying in their home.

The Abode is exactly as shown and described: very cozy and so much love for the details. It's a great place to come to after a day of exploring Portland. It's close - within a shortwalk distance - to Alberta Road and lots of nice coffee shops and Restaurants. Penelope was very helpful and we liked the place a lot!!!

Ann's place is well set out, with individual security locks on each door. The room was really nice, and we were offered coffee in the morning. The location of the place is perfect, easy walking distance from shopping, cafes and breweries/bars. I've really got nothing bad to say here, it was great!
