  • We enjoyed our stay in Lance's unique home, especially the spectacular views. Lance welcomed us warmly and gave us a tour, explaining the history of his home. It served as a great base for exploring Portland.

    Libby2015-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lance and his cat Bukowski were great hosts and very accommodating. He gave us a house tour and recommendations on bars/restaurants nearby. Downtown was a quick UBER ride away and I also walked to the hiking trails from the treehouse. Enjoyed the views and the bedroom area was large and had a nice seating area next to it with Portland restaurant magazines.

    Christie2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was very accommodating and helpful! The house was amazing, and the guest suite had the most incredible view of Portland!

    Meghan2015-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was super friendly, and his house is an architectural marvel with an amazing view. My girlfriend and I both felt welcome and had our privacy respected. This was my first experience with AirBnB and I'd be happy to do it again.

    Jeff2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful accommodations, kind host, and unbeatable view. Room was exactly as described and would stay again. At Lance's recommendation, went for a nice walk up to Council Crest.

    Kevin Kenji2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • It's been a few days since our stay at Lance's treehouse, and I am still dreaming of that AMAZING view! I seriously think this must be the best view in Portland! The treehouse was everything it was described to be, and more. Lance was a great host, and made us feel extremely welcome. He made us a delicious French press every morning, and texted us when it was ready! He gave us recommendations for things to do/places to eat around town, and was just a really cool guy in general. I told him to never stop Airbnb-ing it because we DEFINITELY want to come back! We will never travel to Portland without staying here!

    Bethany2015-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Really interesting place. The view is amazing, especially sunrise -- spectacular! The neighborhood is beautiful and full of great hiking trails. Such a cool place overall. Lance was very nice and helpful. We would definately stay again.

  • Amazing house. Amazing Host. Couldn't have had a better night stay in Portland. One of a kind view.

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • I stumbled upon this listing and knew right away that this is where I was supposed to stay when visiting Portland. As a cob builder myself, I can testify that this cob cottage was built with much skill and love. At the same time that I felt to be a solitary guest in a cabin in the woods, I was actually situated in the midst of one of Portland’s best walkable neighborhoods with access to restaurants of many cuisines, coffee shops, groceries, and transit to the rest of the city. I wish I could have had more time to chat with Chris and Jack, however, I used to live in Portland and my old buddies kept kidnapping me from my cottage my the koi pond. I did get to meet and chat with Cris one day on my way out on a venture. We had much to talk about and left much for the next time we might meet. Cris and Jack are tremendously hospitable and so is the space they have created. If you are visiting Portland, and are looking for a unique and comfortable dwelling in a great neighborhood, and if you are lucky enough for this cozy space to be available, don’t hesitate one second. It’s the best deal in town.

  • Lovely cottage with a beautiful garden. Made our trip to Portland feel like we were nowhere near the city, but only minutes from everything. Definitely recommended!

    Michael2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Cris were out of state when I came, but Cris was very helpful by phone. The cottage is delightful--adorable details, amazing design, beautiful setting--and the neighborhood is ideal for coffee, breakfast, and other worldly delights. Highly recommended!

    Sarah2017-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • Place was lovely. Jack and cris were super accomendating, and very friendly. Super comfortable and it's witching walking distance to some nice bars and food.

    Kate2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Neat place! Very clean and warm, loved the heated floor. Started the morning with delicious coffee by the pond. Thanks Jack and Cris!

  • A very unique and sweet space! Responsive and considerate hosts. Fun neighborhood.

    Sara2017-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a most enjoyable time. Cosy space. Great city access and plenty of good eating a short walk to drive away.

    Randolph2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very unique Airbnb! The cottage was so cute and very well built. The bathroom and living area (inside the main house) is close by. We stayed here during the colder months and the floors inside the cottage retain heat very well so at night and in the early morning it was nice to walk on. Thanks for an awesome stay!

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • The space is absolutely adorable and so cozy. Even though it is a small home, it has everything you could need and more. Andrée maked it so easy to check in and use the restroom in the main house and had so many great suggestions. It was a very convenient location for many local restaurants and shops, as well as for getting to downtown Portland.

    Melissa2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! Everything was exactly how she described it. The location was also really great because it was close to a lot of neighborhood restaurants and bars. The neighborhood was nice a quaint. Andrée was also very hospitable and helpful and gave us a lot of suggestions on places to visit!

    Abigail2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Andrée's was great! We stayed for 1 night, and she was a very kind and helpful host. We enjoyed the decorations for the space, as well as the time we had talking with her! The area is quiet, a short distance from the airport, and not far from interesting shops and restaurants (we rented a car, so everything in Portland was within a 20 minute radius). All in all, the price was reasonable, the room was nice, the host was hospitable, the surrounding area was pleasant, we would go back or recommend to friends, and we had a wonderful time!

    Rachel2015-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ultra cozy private room in a cool, laid back neighborhood. I had a rental car (easy parking) so I'm not sure about the public transport or ease of access to other parts of Portland.

    Markus2014-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn is a great space and very comfortable. Andree made sure she was there to welcome us and to get us all the basic info we needed to enjoy our stay. It is slightly inconvenient to have to go into the main house to use the washroom and to get water etc but that was as described in the ad so not a surprise. The shared bathroom could have been in a cleanlier state give the price of the rental...could have stayed in a hotel for the price. The location on a quiet residential street was a nice change from being and worth the disadvantage of not being central to the downtown

    Kevin2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised!

    Eric2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was a delightful host! Her space was clean, cute, functional, and private. In addition, she is very kind and great at giving suggestions and sharing knowledge about the city! The neighborhood is great as well. I always felt safe, parking was easy as could be, and it was within walking distance of some fun places. I recommend staying here if you're looking for a non-touristy stay in Portland!

    Anna2015-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • The garden studio was amazing to stay in! Very cozy and peaceful after a day of adventures. Andrée was also a wonderful host. We had some great conversation any time we came across each other. The bathroom was clean and not a problem to access. This is a great space to stay in if you're traveling alone or with another guest!

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, a queen bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv including HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a queen bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • This was a lovely studio apartment in a quiet neighborhood. There were a few restaurants within walking distance and Whole Food's near. Otherwise the bus line was just few blocks away. So it was pretty. convenient. The studio itself was clean and cozy. The bed was comfy. We did get kinda confused when we arrived by Uber, for whatever reason the (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps showed a picture of the house across the street has being the end destination so we got it in our heads that we were looking for that house specifically. Not a big deal all worked out in the end. I'd definitely recommend this place for people looking for quiet, relaxing trip to Portland.

    Rebecca2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great and spacious studio. Calm area. Very comfortable bed! We met Jason briefly but he was easy to communicate with.

    Carole2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • First time in Portland and this place was perfect! Located in a beautiful neighborhood, perfect for a leisurely stroll. The room was as described; clean, quaint, and just the right size for comfort. We really appreciated the fireplace and cozy atmosphere. Would love to stay here again on our next trip!

    Nicole2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a centrally located spot for the needs of my stay. The place was clean, easy to find, close to many things, and had a cute charm to it. The only thing and this is the case with older buildings- since it is an 8-plex, you hear everything so make sure and bring earplugs in case you want to sleep in. There was street parking available and Hannah was very responsive when needed.

    Lacey2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • This quiet apartment is in a beautiful neighborhood, with flowering trees, gardens, lovely old houses and great places to walk.

    Nancy2017-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very Comfortable and close walking distance to many places

    Rachel2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice space and comfortable bed. Within walking distance to various shops, restaurants, and bars, and close to an adorable cafe/wine bar called Foster & Dobbs - everyone there is very nice! The bathroom is small, which is the only slight negative. Otherwise check in and check out were very easy, as was parking. Access to washer/dryer in the basement as well!

    Gerald2016-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great Neighborhood....definitly the side of portland to spend your time at. Loved the fireplace at night and kitchen was well stocked for light cooking to save some moolah!

You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.

  • Sue and Bob were fantastic hosts. They provided great recommendations and a great place to stay in Portland.

    Keith2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant experience staying at this property, the apartment is beautifully fitted out surrounded by a pretty garden, located in a nice area. It's location is very good allowing for easy access to central Portland via a short taxi ride or drive as well as a 30 minute drive from the airport. Sue was very helpful and friendly, we would certainly recommend staying here to others and would love to come back some day.

    Simon2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Not only were Sue and Bob the most kind and gracious hosts, they were incredibly responsive and helpful. We came to town to look at homes and they offered great advice! Also, the apartment was exactly as advertised, if not better. Every need was anticipated and it was so charming and perfectly decorated. I only have one piece of advice. If you are above 6'5" this place may be too short for you. Otherwise I couldn't be more glad that I stayed here instead of a hotel! 5 stars!

    Stephanie2015-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much Sue and Bob for everything. I spend 2 months with you and it was a wonderful experience. Portland is an awesome city! The house is clean, pretty and close to the city center and hangout street! Bob and Sue are very helpfull and nice. Thanks again from France! Caroline.

    Caroline2014-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect. Sue & Bob were great. They left clear, detailed, helpful notes and the space was wonderful. The location was perfect for us- Quiet and green, near restaurants, shopping and grocery. There were two bus lines directly to downtown with close-by stops. The gardens were just magical. Our visit was much more enjoyable for having stayed there. This was our first visit to Portland. The Art Museum was worth the trip by itself. There was so much to see and do... We will definitely return.

    Susan2015-08-14T00:00:00Z

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • Only my second air B and B but wow! Super cool space. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

  • Love staying at Laurel and Brian’s guest house. The lofted setup was really nice and an efficient use of space. Laurel and Brian were really gracious hosts. Super responsive and accommodating to every request. Can’t recommend this place any higher.

  • Awesome location and Laurel and Brian's tips of places to go were great!

    Mary2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian's place is perfect. I can't say enough good things about this cottage. It is quiet, well-equipped with everything you could need, including a dishwasher and washer/dryer, full kitchen, microwave, etc. Everything is neat and new and highly functional. Love the skylights and light airy feeling. Well done.

    Amy2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • EXCELLENT x 100!! Laurel and Brian are the hosts we all should aspire to be :) We had an BLAST in Portland and loved how close most of the attractions were to their home. The guesthouse is beyond CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, WELCOMING & simply BEAUTIFUL! The hosts shined just as much as the space!! THANK YOU for making our Portland trip an absolute delight!....Hell, we may even be your neighbors one day :)

    Gabe2018-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot express how great a stay I had at Laurel and Brian's wonderful loft space. A friend, Hailey, and I booked on relatively short notice and when we arrived we greeted by Laurel, who walked us through the house--the air conditioner, the blinds and the rest of the accommodations. Hailey and I loved the space. It is clean, new, and well put together. The bathroom has a nice sink and shower head. On the first floor there is a fold-out couch if needed and upstairs there is an incredibly soft and comfortable bed. It is a split level. Downstairs there is a couch and spacious kitchen area and upstairs there is the bed and dresser. On the first floor there is also a washer and dryer, speaker with aux input for listening, guides of Portland, and complementary coffee with a french press. I could not have asked for more. On top of all this, Laurel and Brian were very nice and accommodating. Hailey and I had a truly wonderful time exploring Portland and staying in this beautiful little home. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would stay here again if I got the chance!!

    Matthew2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and well thought out. Tons of light and a convenient location for the SE. Parking was no problem. Would stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

Where Bali meets Portland. Come relax in this newly, beautifully designed, private mixed use accommodation. Just five short blocks from Portland's hip N Williams district. A rooftop deck.
I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • I can tell that Timothy has taken a lot of time and money to renovate the actual bedroom. He was also very responsive and kind. However, the apartment was not near any major tourist attractions. I would recommend staying on the other side of the bridge. Also, there was cat hair in the room. I am allergic, so my eye puffed up. The shower curtain was stained.

    Marylyn2018-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy was a very gracious and flexible host. He and the other guests were friendly, a great little book in town with everything you need within blocks. Timothy welcomed me and made sure I had everything I needed. The room was immaculate and the bed was comfy! Very easy bus ride to the convention center!

    Tanya2016-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time at Tim's place. I booked the bigger room and it was beautiful! Very clean and comfortable with a huge bed. It was a hot day and it gets a bit warm in the room but there is a very nice fan in the room. I took advantage of the restaurant below and wasn't disappointed either... great food and drinks.

    Danielle2015-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived late in Portland and Timothy was so kind to let us check in in the middle of the night. We truly appreciated it! The bedroom was spacious, clean and modern. The shower and toilet room were so well maintained and clean as well. We would recommend his place to anyone! Thank you for your hospitality, Tim!

    Almeida2015-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Tim provided a lovely place to stay with all the amenities you could ask for. Everything looked meticulously looked after and ultimately for me everything was sanitary. It felt like we had the place to ourselves but when we needed help he was no more than a stones throw away. Thanks for the awesome weekend!

    Benny2016-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy's Spacious bedroom was exactly what we needed. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Being off the main road, it was a bit noisy but the location was quite convenient - near a bus stop, walking distance from some restaurants and right next to Bushel & Peck (an amazing bakery). The shared bathroom was clean and there was never a wait - complete with shampoo and conditioner. We had a great stay and would come back if we came back to the area.

    Melissa2015-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is very quite, clean and well maintained place. It's more like a dorm room. There are many other rooms and you will be sharing a bathroom and shower room with others but pretty clean. I actually haven't met the owner but the check in process was pretty smooth. The room it self is really dark even with the window open in sunny day. There are just not enough of sunlight comes in so you might need to turn the light on during the day as well.

    Aran2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • I was sick with a head cold my entire time here, but it seemed like it would be really great, if I didn't feel crummy.

Our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide views of the west hills and flood the room with an abundance of natural light, even on the greyest of drizzly Portland days. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; If you're needing more of a "hangout spot," this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to two main restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • Melissa and Brian were such great hosts and so welcoming upon our arrival. We were only in town for a short stay while in town for my wife's show a great little shop called Gem Gem right down the street. It was so nice have such wonderful place to come back to at the end of the day. This place is incredible and the attention to detail that went into making sure we had everything we needed blew our minds. We have already recommended the place to our friends and will 100% be back to stay here again! Kevin and Andrea From Vancouver, BC

  • Melissa’s place was so cute and clean! She was a great host and made sure that we had everything we needed, from fresh towels to tea. It was a perfect size for two people and was the perfect distance from everything we needed. I would definitely come back again, thank you Melissa!

The host provides everything you could possibly need for your Portland trip and this studio is located central to everything you would want to see in portland. Hope to return back to this place!

  • Staying with this wonderful family in their very cute private room was just what we needed. Quiet, lovely, tranquil. Our hosts did everything to make us feel welcome while giving us the space we desired. Brochures of coffee places, eateries and dessert suggestions were left on the counter and we enjoyed many of these. We took pix of our week and showed the cute room to our family. They all want to go visit!! We had everything we needed. We give our hosts and our accommodations an A++. The location to everything was perfect!

    Steve2016-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing and incredible attention to detail (as accurately and enthusiastically described by previous reviewers). Comfortable, clean, modern, great location and fantastic host. Easily our best Airbnb experience so far! Thank you Melissa and Brian.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • The space was warm and cozy. The bed was so comfy that when we got back home, I seriously wished we were back at Anna and Jeremy‘s place. As host they were warm and welcoming, and super fast in their communication. Anna greeted us when we got there and gave us some great recommendations for local eats. We chatted with Anna about our weekend plans and I got the sense that they wanted to do everything possible to make our stay the best. If you’re looking for a cozy retreat where you can sleep well, that’s near all the great places in Portland, this is the spot.

    Jennifer2017-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy have a great space in North East Portland. It is simple and serene! Definitely a place where you can relax. They are also close to an excellent tamale restaurant! Anna had a lot of helpful hints about where to go and what to see. Thanks for a lovely trip!

    Catherine2018-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy’s place was amazing! Great space for the value. I really enjoyed how clean, up to date and stylish the apartment was. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • If you want to experience Portland, then look no further. Anna + Jeremy made staying in this city truly remarkable from start to finish. The home itself is stunning, the neighborhood is located in a great area filled with nearby stops that will only add to the beauty that is this city. Anna + Jeremy have proven themselves to be the definition of amazing hosts, they were kind, considerate, and always accommodating. They made this home exactly like that, a home away from one. We can't thank Anna + Jeremy enough for making our Portland trip a travel experience that we'll never forget. Portland is a paradise, and this home made our trip positively magical!

    Alex2017-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy's place was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed ;)

    Bex2016-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in this beautiful place hosted by Anna & Jeremy was a big part of making our stay in Portland a wonderful time! As promised, the private apartment has many handcrafted finishes made from reclaimed and unique materials--as does the rest of the home--Anna definitely has a great eye for art and design and Jeremy has proven to be an excellent craftsman. Beyond the great unit, A+J were warm and generous hosts who contributed some excellent recommendations for food and things to do while in town. Also, the location was everything we could have wanted: it is a quiet residential retreat from the busy city, there are a handful of great places to eat within easy walking distance, and there is easy access to two bus lines that took us pretty much everywhere we needed to go (we used exclusively public transit and it was very easy to get around town). All in all we would LOVE to visit Portland again, and I hope we get the chance to stay with A+J again!

    Jeff & Meg2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy's space was really cool and they've gone out of their way to give you a great guide to the neighborhood, Northeast, and the city as a whole. Was a great home base and I'd love to use it again on a future trip to Portland (I hope).

The room was extremely clean and had everything we needed. Not to mention the location was awesome! Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone! This place was great! No complaints!

  • The Lovejoy room was fantastic! The photos were accurate and already looked wonderful - the actual unit was even better! It was sparkling clean and incredibly comfortable. The parking and location were great. I highly recommend staying there. This was by far the best Airbnb experience I’ve had.

  • This place was really special; it was next door to Spielman's Bagels, which is a lovely morning place for bagels and coffee. You really cannot beat the location - it is smack dab on NW 23rd St which is a delightful neighborhood.

Spacious master bedroom with private bath, entrance & deck; easy access to transportation, walking distance to N Williams, N Mississippi, The Pearl, Rose Quarter/Convention Center, east side amenities, & Emanuel Hospital. All are welcome! airbnb.com/rooms/2291626?s=51
This is a large master suite with accommodations for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay: a Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee and tea, a refrigerator, a microwave, dishes, knives, and silverware. The room also has cable TV, Queen size bed, foldout futon sofa, airbed in closet, sitting area & desk. "...the bathroom was unexpectedly awesome with two sinks, and such a large shower with dual heads." Heating and air conditioning is a mini-split which keeps the temperature comfortable and quiet.
Eliot neighborhood is full of popular dining establishments, coffee shops, music venues, parks, and the Matt Dishman community center with in-door swimming pool. This is a great close-in Portland community with access to everything you need. Several places for live music include the Secret Society, White Eagle Saloon, Wonder Ballroom and, of course, the Rose Garden Moda Center.
  • Excellent value. Big room, double sink, awesome shower. So many toiletries , snacks , coffee, little fridge, microwave. Bed was comfy, room very clean. Location was perfect. Walking wasn’t a problem for us, maybe too long for some into downtown... but Uber’s were only a couple dollars around town and we rented a car (street parking not a problem). Room has separate entrance in Home ... Jere was traveling so her sister Susan accommodated our needs and she was super nice and responsive! Highly recommend!

    Nicole2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, private place! Would totally recommend :)

    Nate2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very pleasant stay with Jere. The room was more than spacious with a very nice and luxery bathroom. We enjoyed the balcony in front of our room and had breakfast enjoying the fine morning sun. We are gratefull for this very agreable closure of our vacation the US.

  • Jere was great in communicating with me prior to the visit. The space is absolutely fantastic with his and her sinks, a great shower, and a super comfy bed (I slept so great!). The space is in walkable distance of two great neighborhoods which Jere was great about letting us know about. I fully recommend this retreat away from the hustle of downtown, but you're not too far away to get there!

  • This is my 2nd time to stay at Jere's place and, just like the first time, everything was perfect! The neighborhood is very convenient to downtown, local bars, restaurants and grocery stores. A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • Very nice house. The space exceeded expectations.

  • We loved our stop at the Urban treehouse on our journey. Brad and Becca have a beautiful home and we loved meeting their furry friends too (nice after missing ours for a week). Thanks to Brad for all of his delicious recommendations

    Amy2015-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Though I didn't spend a lot of time here, Brad and Becca's place was super charming and their pets were also super friendly! Their place is relatively close to downtown and everything is super clean :). Thanks for having me!

  • Brad is a very nice guy who knows how to make his guests feel at home in their beautiful house!

  • Brad & Becca's house is great, very cozy, tidy and inviting. The location is supreme, not far to either downtown or the upstreaming Division street. Brad & Becca were amazing hosts and gave us great advise on places to eat. Their dog and cat were great fun to play with. Would return anytime. Highly recommended.

    Adrian2014-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca have a beautiful house. They were warm and inviting and we love their wonderful, friendly cat and dog. The location in PDX was perfect for us, off of Cesar Chavez, close enough to walk to lots of places, and get around by car or bus.

    Beverly2014-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca were very friendly, they were easy to communicate with, and super easy to share a living space with. The neighborhood had tons of restaurants within walking distance (we ate at Shut Up and Eat, and Yoko's), and is a quick 10 min drive to downtown PDX. Would very much like to come back here.

    Dustin2013-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca are great hosts with a fantastic space. We were made to feel right at home from the moment we got there and were given every accommodation. We really enjoyed having the first floor basically to ourselves and would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable, modern basement studio with private entrance, only minutes away from downtown and located in safe, quiet Piedmont neighborhood with plenty of on-street parking. Comfy queen size bed, private bath, private kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hot water maker, and all the basic amenities.
Warm and cozy space for two with modern furnishings and its own complete kitchen and bathroom.
Piedmont is a quiet, family oriented neighborhood. There is a large city park a few blocks away with a beautiful rose garden, tennis courts and public pool. The trendy Alberta Arts and Mississippi neighborhoods are nearby.
  • Robert's place is private, amazingly clean, and fully stocked with everything you need! Private entrance, air/ heater conditioned, full kitchen and a large/ comfy bed. Robert is an excellent communicator and is quick to respond to any questions. He allowed us to drop off our luggage since our plane arrived rather early in the morning and our check-in wasn't until the afternoon. I highly suggest staying at Robert's place if you like being in a safe and quiet neighborhood! Don't question it, just book it!

    Lizette2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Robert’s place is super cute, modern, clean and comfortable. Had everything we needed and more. He’s space is well maintained inside and out. Secure entrance and neighborhood. It was quiet during our stay. We used Uber to make our way into the the main part of the city. Just 10 mins away and reasonably priced. We didn’t get a chance to meet Robert but this allowed for some privacy and he was very communicative responding to our texts within a reasonable amount of time. We would definitely stay here again if we were to return to Portland. Highly recommend!

    Erica2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • I was really impressed with the cleanliness, the layout, and the amenities provided. The entire place was renovated, and even exceeded my expectations. The host really thought of the minor details, for everything I needed was provided! It was definitely a great place to come back to after a really long day of exploring Portland. This is definitely a gem! Do not hesitate to book.

    Daisy2018-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended! Would love to book again.

  • I really loved Robert's place. His communication was excellent. He provided detailed instructions for checking in/out and house rules that were easy to follow. The space was spotless and stylish. The unit had great lighting and dimmer switches for ambience. The full kitchen was well-equipped and updated. The bed was so comfortable and the sheets soft with big fluffy pillows. It smelled nice. It's in a quintessential Portland neighborhood where all the homes have character. I felt safe walking around. There was parking always available in front of the home. The location was perfect for me as I had events to attend in Sellwood and Vancouver. It was conveniently located to everything, easy to find, close to the interstate. I feel it was an excellent value. I was really pleased with this find! 10/10 highly recommend. I'm looking forward to my next trip.

  • Great studio apartment! Very conveniently located in between downtown and the airport, very safe and walkable neighborhood. Cute coffee shops within a 10 minute walk. Robert’s studio is very clean and very homey and the access is very simple. Self check-in and out made it an easy process!

  • Roberts basement suite was absolutely perfect for my girlfriend and I during our stay in Portland. It was modern, clean, and full of amenities. If you’re looking for a great value, this is the place to stay.

Light-filled, private 2 story apartment, parking in the driveway, two major bus lines, walking distance to restaurants/bars, shopping & grocery. Separate office area, high-speed internet, great for business travel.
A well-stocked gourmet kitchen, lots of windows to let light in (blackout shade in bedroom to help you sleep!), new comfy pullout sofa, full size washer & dryer, courtyard space outside to chill out, park in the driveway right next to the apartment
The Albert Arts neighborhood has award-winning restaurants, bars and shopping all within walking distance. The apartment is on a major bus line that can get you where you need to go quickly.
  • The guest house was very cozy, clean, comfortable and located in a quiet neighborhood. Great location with nearby coffee shops and restaurants on Alberta and a short drive to downtown. We highly recommend this to anyone visiting Portland!

  • My first Airbnb experience and it was everything I was hoping for. This was just as advertised. Well kept, modern and family friendly. The kitchen was fully equipped. My young kids loved the free WiFi and being able to enjoy a home away from home. The location is central and there are great local parks and restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend this place anytime and would definitely stay here again.

The bunk room has been created as a nod to the hotel's creation as a safe place for sailors. You'll find the same thing in this space with 18' ceilings- cozy, strong, and comfortable triple bunk beds.
At The Society Hotel, we believe in making every traveler feel authentically connected to our community so they are ready to enjoy our beautiful city from day one. We offer three ways to experience our unique hotel: bunk rooms for the affordable community experience; private rooms with shared bathrooms for comfort without excess; and suites for a bit of affordable luxury. All of our rooms come with plush beds, 10-foot windows, high speed wifi, and a hospitality experience unlike any other.
Old Town is Portland's oldest neighborhood - the original epicenter of Portland, Oregon. It has a colorful history and an equally colorful present! We are the epicenter of Portland's street fashion scene, the nightlife district, as well as a social services haven for those most in need. So expect an eclectic mix from Old Town, and hopefully love it as much as we do!

  • The staffs at Society Hotel were friendly and helpful. The description is accurate. The place is clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay at Society Hotel next time I am in Portland. Thank you for being such an awesome host!

  • Great location, walkable to great breweries, restaurants, desserts, and Powell’s bookstore. I was able to run to the rose gardens and it was about 1.6 miles. In this room you will have a bottom, middle, or top bunk, there are 24 beds in the whole room. You can buy a lock next door for the lockers which are really big. I fit a backpack, gym bag, and two tote bags in one locker. There is a rooftop bar that you should check out!

    Kristen2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in the bunk beds for two nights and had a great stay! I love the privacy curtains and it was super close to the venue I was going to for a concert. Highly recommend!

  • This place is a wonderful retreat while being in the midst of a fun neighborhood. The place feels private and quiet and is beautifully kept.

  • Sara’s sweet, cozy home is in the heart of a beautiful neighborhood. Getting into downtown Portland is easy from the tiny house when using the TriMet bus (the bus stops across the street from Sara’s). Sara provides plenty of tips and tricks for a pleasant stay, so be sure to read them; she was absolutely wonderful about consistent communication. I would love to come back to Portland, and I would love to stay at Sara’s again—highly recommended!

    Kathleen2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • 5 Stars! We had a great stay at Sara’s tiny house! The house was beautiful, clean and very convenient with a tiny kitchen and functional bathroom. Walking distance from tons of great restaurants and coffee shops, our stay was full of charm and character; definitely recommend!

  • This a wonderful tiny home next to all the cool things to do in Portland! Sara was an amazing host that provided quick responses and a charming space to rest our heads. Will definitely book again when we are in the area!

  • It's such a cute little home, right on the center of all the activities you could possibly want! Perfect for a honeymoon getaway! Best part we liked about it was how clean and well-maintained it is. Good stuff!

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • Great place with good access to restaurants, bars and shopping right around the corner. Very clean and cute as well. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks guys!

    Tyler2014-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is a real gem - it's a unique space and beautifully furnished with a lot of thought and love put into it. Check in was easy, it's extremely clean and Michael was very quick to communicate when ever we needed him. The area is great with many bars, shops and restaurants near by. Jenny provides a great number of fantastic places to go and eat and hang out when you're in Portland.

    Tim2014-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was a unique little spot for a weekend in Portland. Things we loved: 1. The neighborhood! Walking distance to all the essentials - good lunch spot (Lardo was extra yummy), organic grocery store, coffee lounge and cocktail spot. 2. The character of the place. The design and charm made it truly one of a kind. 3. The availability of bikes and outside patio. Like Jenny and Michael describe, the place is called the tiny house for a reason. There is certain functionality that is lost due to the size. I would recommend a weekend but no longer. Thanks for a unique portland experience Michael and Jenny!

    Adam&Jax2014-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We can't say enough good things about our stay in Michael and Jenna's tiny house. It was absolutely perfect. Every detail has been thought of and the location is fantastic. Aside from the houses charm, Michael and Jenna could not have been more lovely. They are very responsive and helpful. They put as much love into their home as they do their guests. Thank you for such an incredible experience. We look forward to staying in your tiny house in Joshua Tree real soon!

    Lyla2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous stay! Weather was very cold. In the morning when we woke there was snow in the garden. Michael was in touch often to made sure we were warm enough and had everything we needed. The two electric space heaters did a good job of keeping the house toasty... it is well insulated and quiet. Something we were especially grateful for was the fenced-in front yard which offered privacy from the street. Also, we prefer to cook for ourselves, so between having a New Seasons Market in the neighborhood and a kitchen to cook it all, we felt very at home. You can tell they put a lot of love into building/finishing and decorating the space. It has an easy, fun vibe. It may be a tiny house, but it doesn't feel small or cramped. We would certainly stay here again!

    Naomi2013-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house was a lot of fun to stay in and Michael and Jenny were very responsive and accommodating. Thank you for a great time!

    Orin2015-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • I'm about 5'4, and the tiny modern rustic house was perfect for me. The place is really nicely furnished, and close to some pretty hip bars and restaurants. There's plenty of parking nearby for folks with cars. The house has a bit of a treehouse feel, and if you enjoy cozy cottages, you'll love this walden-esque pad in a quiet suburb.

    Tracy2013-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed in the Tiny House for a month and we absolutely loved our stay! We travel permanently and usually stay in hostels and guesthouses so while it seemed super-spacious for us, it may not for everybody. The kitchen was perfect for making breakfasts although we didn't try to cook much beyond that -- the house is really close to some amazing restaurants and bars. We ate SO WELL. Buses run regularly to downtown from fairly close by but we actually spent most of our time exploring our own neighbourhood. We didn't run out of places to go to and ended up preferring it to downtown! Michael and Jenny are lovely to deal with and responsive to any questions/problems. All in all, we loved our stay, were incredibly sad to leave and are already talking about returning at some point in the future!

Relaxed, spacious + light boho-modern basement apartment with private entry. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. It's a great landing pad to explore Portland! 15 minutes from the airport and downtown, ample free street parking and wi-fi . We are within walking distance to sooo many outstanding restaurants, coffee + bars: Breakside Brewery, The Firehouse, Tamale Boy, Tough Luck Bar, Dame, Beast, Expatriot, DOC, and many other great restaurants, brewpubs and boutiques.
The apartment is located in our mid-century home on a quiet residential street in the hip Concordia neighborhood. Situated between the exciting Alberta Arts District, Concordia University and the up-and-coming Woodlawn neighborhood, you cannot beat the selection of great restaurants, shops, and parks within walking or biking distance. Whether you just want to chill in front of the wood-burning fireplace, wander the neighborhood, or have a glass of wine outside, feel free to relax and make yourself at home. With a full kitchen at your disposal you can make the most out of the local farmer’s markets and excellent grocery stores in the neighborhood too. This space is ideal for business travelers, with wi-fi and a full kitchen. We enjoy meeting all of our guests, but we respect your privacy and space as well. Please feel free to interact with us as much, or as little, as you'd like. We live just a short 10-15 minute drive from Portland International Airport (PDX). We are located about 10-12 minutes from downtown Portland by car. Public transportation is just a few blocks away.
The Concordia neighborhood is unique in its diversity, with long-time residents, young families and college students attending Concordia University. Other great attributes: - Close to downtown, and about 15 minutes from the airport. - Incredible restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, art galleries, music, and street art are a short walk or bike ride away. - One block from public transportation that drops you downtown before you know it! - Close to our favorite grocery store (New Seasons) with organic food, local products, and an excellent source for gifts or mementos of your stay. - Beautiful Woodlawn, Alberta and Fernhill Parks are within 6 -12 blocks away, or head to Forest Park for great hiking in the middle of the city. - Concordia University is two blocks away, and a great place to stop by to watch a baseball or soccer game in their beautiful open stadium, check out their grounds or wander into the library.
  • Very clean suite, has a beautiful kitchen with full stove, fridge, coffee machine (and great beans as well). Melissa was kind enough to leave cream and butter for us in the fridge. There was a pot and pan for us to cook and tin foil and oven ware to bake items as well. Would def stay here again if in the area.

    Courtney2018-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very peaceful and comfortable place to stay with thoughtful touches throughout. I would definitely stay here again. Melissa was responsive and she and her husband were pleasant hosts.

  • Cozy and very stylish. Great host and spot to stay to see all of Portland, OR.

    Erick2018-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • She is so friendly and very quick to respond. She has the cutest dog and cat! Her studio is very homely and I loved the decor. The bed was comfortable, the heater worked great! She was nice enough to give me a ride to a local brewery. Thank you :)

  • Melissa’s place was just as great as she was! Wonderful location, walked to a ton of yummy places! Melissa was quick to respond and a great hostess. We’d definitely stay here again!

  • The space was beautiful, the design was amazing. So cozy and homey feeling with modern touches. Close to everything. Melissa was a great host!

    Courtney 2018-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and spotless place. You enter through the back door, but have your own entrance to the apartment. It’s in a very quiet residential neighborhood. Some things are walkable, but for the most part we had to drive, which wasn’t a problem. Parking was easy accessible on the street. The only downsides was no microwave, but I should’ve been able to tell from the pictures/description and I must’ve overlooked it. We will definitely stay again next time we’re in Portland.

    Curtis2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This AirBnB was great- it was so cute, clean, and Melissa even set out some tea and granola bars for us. There were also lots of great places to eat near by (thanks to suggestions from Melissa and previous guests) and the neighborhood was very quaint. We left fairly early the next morning, but Melissa still made an effort to come out and talk to us, ask how our stay was, etc. which was so nice of her. Plus we got to meet her adorable dog which was an added bonus. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Buckman is a close in SE Portland neighborhood which is an increasingly popular place to live. The apartment is at the eastern end of the neighborhood. There are parks, a picturesque cemetery, good restaurants, wine bars, craft brewing pubs and the Laurelhurst movie theater, all within walking distance. The #15 bus line runs to downtown on the other side of the cemetery (6 blocks). A little further afield (just over a mile) is the Hawthorne district where there are some off beat shops and more places to eat and drink. Downtown is 2 miles away. The apartment is part of a new build and is situated at the rear of the property next to the garden It is one story up (over the garage) and receives a lot of natural light. It is fully self-contained, all appliances are new which makes self-catering very easy. What it lacks in history it more than makes up for in convenience! There is also ample free street parking directly outside the house. Buckman is pretty close to downtown while still having a residential flavor. It also contains a number of agreeable restaurants, wine bars and brewpubs. Everyday shopping needs such as grocery stores are also well served. Additionally it is pretty easy to get to the major freeways for travel purposes. Buses run to downtown and back a few blocks over.
  • Booked for my brother and his honey while they visited Portland, and they had such a nice experience! They especially loved the freshly ground coffee and cream that Cara left for their morning wake up. A great price for an adorable and clean rental in an awesome neighborhood!

    Risa2013-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We were visiting my son, who's renovating his home just a few blocks away. So the locations was perfect. We're happy to say the Cozy Apartment was perfect too. A delightful bottle of Oregon wine welcomed us when we arrived at this clean and well appointed studio apartment. There was everything we could possibly need for our stay - including a coffee maker with locally roasted coffee, a washer/dryer to get rid of the dirt from our clothes and a great shower for the grime on ourselves.

    Larry2015-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • We never met in person, but Cara and her husband left a bottle of wine and a thorough guide to Portland for us in the tidy studio. The place was just as described, and a nice private getaway.

    Alessandra2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cara was so easy to communicate with, accommodating and willing to think of all the details to make our stay in Portland a great one. The space is cozy and had everything we needed to feel right at home, 2,000 miles from home. It was clean, neat and stocked. Thanks for everything Cara! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

    Alex2014-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was excellent, couldn't have asked for anything more as stated in my first review.

    Ginny2014-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely great time in Buckman. The location was great, the place super clean and well appointed. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Portland!:-)

    Terry2016-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We never met Cara in person, but she was super friendly and responsive in our virtual interactions. She laid out clear instructions for accessing the studio and finding the place was a breeze! When we arrived, the heater had been turned on ahead of time, which was such a cozy relief from the chilly weather. A bottle of wine and fresh coffee awaited us and everything looked perfect! The entire studio is beautiful-- very clean and new. All the appliances worked great (we loved having a washer and dryer with our five month old in tow!) For couples with a baby: this is a great spot. There is soft carpet to crawl around on, ample space on either side of the bed for a travel crib, and the whole place is just generally cozy. Thanks so much, Cara, for giving us a lovely place to rest and relax in between our Portland adventures!

    Kim2013-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was probably one of the best AirBnb experiences my boyfriend and I have ever had. The hosts were great at communicating information - how to get into the studio, which restaurants we should go to, etc. This place was perfect for us because it was fairly close to downtown, has cool little establishments within walking distance, and was clean and organized.

I'm offering a comfortable clean bedroom in the best neighborhood in Portland. Self check in so late night arrivals are no problem. On all major bus lines. New Seasons market one block away and 20+ restaurants in a 15 block radius. Free street parking. LGBTQ friendly. 3 small dogs live here so if you don't love dogs, this is not the place for you.
I'm offering a bedroom in my four bedroom home on the main floor right next to the shared bathroom. The bed is a comfy queen size. My home has a back porch with a cozy deck for eating breakfast and sipping coffee and a picnic area under the arbor for dinner and relaxing. The dogs can be a bit intense, but Rocky is always down for a head scratch.
Dozens of excellent restaurants within walking distance of the house. Two grocery stores within 4 blocks. Major bus lines will take you downtown in ten minutes. Our neighborhood is quiet and clean in the heart of Portland's biking community. We're also within walking distance to the Aladdin Theater so come see a show while you're here!
  • Kara was an amazing host and our stay in Portland was nonetheless of wonderful! The atmosphere was comfortable. The location is PERFECT! honestly, look no further is you don't have a car & looking to walk/bike/public transit the city. Even if you do have a car there is plenty of public parking! Her house was prime location and I can't say that enough. Plus her doggies were very cute just give them a treat when you walk in and always close your door behind you! I highly recommend this Airbnb! Thanks so much Kara! -Rachel

  • Kara's cousin welcomed us and quickly gave us the rundown of the house. It was great! The bed was incredibly comfortable. Everything was clean. The room had books on P-land and things to do, so it was great. Kara = PDX's finest!

    Michael2016-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kara and her roommates were very accommodating in their cute house with such a nice room and thoughtful amenities. The neighborhood truly is the best in the city and is close to bus lines, next to a New Seasons grocery and anything else you might need on your visit. Thank you again, it was a great experience!

    Moira2014-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Kara is very responsive and professional in her Airbnb service. We arrived later than her bed time, but she was waiting for us in her room even if she had left all the messages to us in adcance. We had a room with a window facing back yard. She provided all the stuff you may need. She is the only host who provided hair dryer during my whole trip in north west. I cannot say her room and bed is 100% clean, but there wasn't any dust on the floor as we stepped in. She has two pre-printed sheets on the desk introducing her family members and good things to do, good restaurants to try in her neighborhood. I had the most pleasant stay here. Recommended!

    Amy2015-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time staying with Kara. Although we did not get the chance to meet her in person, she was very friendly and accommodating via text messages. Her home was very clean and the room was exactly as described. Great location! We will definitely try to stay here again.

  • We had a good time here. Lovely home, great location, friendly hosts.

  • My stay at Kara's was excellent! I arrived the evening of July 4th to find Kara, Sarah and Dan cooking out with friends, and they were kind enough to ask me to eat and hang out with them. What a warm welcome! The location was great. Everything I needed was within walking distance, and downtown was a quick bus ride away with the bus stop a block away. I'll definitely stay with them again next time I'm in Portland.

  • Great communication and met us on time. The bed was awesome and the place was clean. I liked the neighborhood too. Location was good for us.

  • This was my first ever AirBnB stay and it was a fantastic find! Ron and Paul's apartment was even better than expected and they were such great hosts, even holding onto a package that was delivered during our stay. Their place is modern, clean, and located in an awesome neighborhood. I can't say enough great things.

    Amanda2016-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a well- decorated and modern apartment. The space is well-equipped with everything you would need. Ron is very responsive and helpful. The coffee machine is great.

    Hazel2016-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Paul and Ronald were great hosts. Clear communication and friendly. The place was cozy and quiet, plus had fantastic coffee. The location was in a lovely neighborhood but close and convenient to plenty of restaurants and shops. Wonderful place and stay!

    Jade2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location with easy access to highway. Easy street parking. Very cozy room. Zero complaints. Would definitely recommend.

    Ben2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is very clean and modern. Ron made sure to get us the keys quickly and was an excellent host. Location is a quick walk from a few bars and restaurants. The neighborhood is a nice residential area.

    Morgan2016-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ronald has a wonderful little apartment in a great neighborhood. Very easy to walk to Mississippi street and see the shops and restaurants. Apartment looked just like the pictures and was very clean and well-stocked with high-quality amenities like cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, kitchenware, nice coffee and tea, towels and Amazon TV with Netflix, Hulu and more, just to name a few. He left a note on the kitchen table explaining how to use things like the coffee maker and jets in the tub. Unfortunately, the fridge wasn't working the whole time we were there, but the freezer was. Lighting in the bathroom was a little dim and without a wall separating the bathroom from the rest of the apartment, you really can hear everything going on in there. Had a little trouble with the code to access the lock box because we were supposed to receive it a couple days before our trip, but didn't receive it until a couple hours before check in time. All worked out fine, however, and I was very happy with our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks Ron!

    Alejandro2016-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. Super clean. Easy access to downtown. Thank you, Ronald. Look forward to staying again soon!

    Lance2016-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arrival we met Paul, who was super kind and showed us around the studio apartment. The apartment was squeaky clean and was wonderfully decorated. The bed was comfortable, the coffee maker was magical, and the location was perfect. It was a really great place to stay and I would totally come back again.

Bright and clean private bedroom just one block off of Mississippi St. district in N. Portland. Minutes from downtown via bike, light rail or car. Easy access to/from the Airport too! Five years in and our five star rating is going strong!
This home is clean, quiet, creative and perfectly situated for an amazingly rich and convenient Portland experience. With a comfortable Queen bed (fits 2), wood floors, ample closet space, garden views and adjacent shared bathroom, you'll feel right at home. Please note that we ask our guests to limit bathroom visits to 15 minutes (especially in the morning) as this space shares a bathroom with an additional Airbnb room. Full access to kitchen, living room with fireplace, and landscaped garden patio with raised beds and seating. The home is full of plants and art from around the world. No pets/Allergen free! The Mississippi St. district is the place to be! Amazing restaurants, food carts, bars, breweries and stellar music venues are literally a minutes walk from the front door. NOT an easy place to get bored! Parking is easy in this safe neighborhood. The MAX light rail system has a stop just minutes away (walking) that can shoot you downtown or drop you off from the airport. Please note that our close proximity to the I-5 freeway does provide some background noise (not really noticeable inside the house). PLEASE NOTE: Arthur and Adam live in an adjacent building on the property. Audra is our house manager and good friend - and lives on the top floor of this home.
Portland's Historic Mississippi District is definitely where you want to stay when visiting the city. A gorgeous and funky stretch full of great shops, award-winning restaurants, an incredible music venue and amazing bars with outdoor patios and inspiring craft cocktails. SUPER easy to get to other parts of the city from here too!
  • This place is wonderful! Super clean, and everything from check-in was incredibly easy. Rebecca was so kind and it really did feel like home for the night. I would recommend staying here to anyone - it's a real gem!

    Reed2018-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish place and clean! Great location in the Mississippi area and very walkable. We enjoyed the space very much, comfortable bed, and easy street parking. A&A also had great communication and easy check in/check out!

    Kristin2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Adam and Arthur’s place is very cozy, clean and conveniently located to lots of restaurants, shops and food trucks. I felt safe in the area. I was concerned about sharing a bathroom with the other house guests, but it was not a problem - I didn’t even see them! Adam and Arthur were very responsive to my inquiries about things to see and places to visit. I would definitely recommend this to others who are looking for a nice, cozy spot to rest and relax after a day of activities in Portland.

    Mary Kay2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • I was thrilled with my stay at Adam and Arthur's beautiful home. I loved all the little details like name card on the door and free beer in fridge! • Adam and Arthur are amazing hosts! The location is perfect: a few mins walk from the MAX station and Mississippi ave where you can get Por Que No tacos and Blue Star donuts :). The room was clean and we felt right at home. I would definitely stay in their home again :)

    Katrina2015-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • I had the most wonderful time staying with Adam and Arthur in Portland! As soon as I arrived at the house, they made me feel at home. The entire house is beautifully decorated, with a ton of light in my room and a garden right out the window. The house was in a great location, with amazing restaurants, bars, and food trucks right down the street. I wish that I could have stayed longer!

    Ali2015-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean and comfortable house. We met Adam and Arthur briefly and felt very welcomed and comfortable in their home. They were very friendly and personable considering the amount of people they must meet. Bed was soooo comfortable and location ideal near the trendy area of Mississippi Ave and not far from downtown or the airport. Had a great stay!

  • Awesome location and a lovely space to relax in between PDX adventuring.

  • Ed was friendly and attentive. Lovely space and very comfortable.

    Mia2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ed was so accommodating during our check-in and we had a fantastic time in Portland! The small bungalow was in a really cute area with ample parking and very close to all the spots that we wanted to visit. It was very clean and we would definitely stay again.

    Lan2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice accommodations in a wonderful location. It was a lovely experience. We had everything we needed to feel at home in a neighborhood we otherwise would have not been able to experience as there is a lack of hotels in the area. It was homey and close to good dining, coffee, bakeries, vintage shopping, rental bikes, etc.

    Jennifer2016-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cozy place!

    Luca2017-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy bungalow situated right in the heart of the city, quick drive to Downtown. No shortage of food, coffee, shopping, & great people watching. Quiet neighborhood, would highly recommend

    Mike2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were very patient and helpful. I had a phone issue and needed them to send the directions to me again. They replied to every text immediately. They were very accommodating. The studio apt was exceptionally clean (no dirt or dust anywhere), modern and new, well built and appointed, very cozy and cute. It was in a very nice, quiet neighborhood, yet just two blocks from Hawthorne where there were pizza and other places to eat and a McMenamins nearby. It was accessible to downtown if you like to walk - a very nice walk across the Hawthorne bridge, but a little bit of a walk, or an easy ride. It was centrally located to access several other Portland neighborhoods. I highly recommend staying here, Ed and Sari, and would love to stay again.

This 3rd floor loft is located in the N. Williams District, on a main bike route, across the street from a bus stop, close to the street car and light rail. It is an eclectic 900 sqft self contained unit with amazing views on the top floor of a 1900's Victorian. This stretch of Williams Ave has a more industrial feel but we are just a few blocks from eateries & libations. Walk to the Convention Center, Moda Center and the Pearl District.
-The view is amazing. -Efficiency style open kitchen with 2 stove top burners, toaster oven, french press, cookware, full dishware & glassware plus a real fridge with freezer. -comfy queen bed & nice Egyptian cotton sheets -new heating system with Air Conditioning! -2 wifi networks -a slew of information & maps on Portland & surrounding areas such as the Columbia Gorge, Oregon Coast, wine country etc. -Walk to the heart of the Williams District -Walk to the convention Center & Moda -Walk into the Pearl District (20min.)
Building on its reputation for bicycles, beers and brunch, the Williams District has evolved into a dynamic, must-see destination for locals and visitors alike. With its broad array of eateries, breweries, characters, shops and services, the district is a veritable composite of all the best Portland has to offer. The Williams District includes more than 150 businesses and is also defined by its rich cultural history. In the 1940s and ’50s, Williams Avenue was teeming with jazz clubs and speakeasies. Today located just down the street is the historic Billy Webb elks lodge. On a Friday or Saturday night it is not rare to sit on the deck and hear the DJ spinning.
  • What an incredible space! The view west across the river is stunning, and I had morning coffee and biscotti (provided by Tyra) on the patio just to look out over the city. The room itself is just like the pictures and very spacious. An excellent kitchen with beautiful fixtures and lots of cooking space. Sadly, I didn't get to meet Tyra in-person this trip, but she had a flawless system for checking in on my own and everything was easily accessible. She remained very communicative by text and had provided very clear instructions. Couldn't recommend more highly!

    Shane2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic! The check in was so simple, which usually is the biggest pain for me on Airbnb. The apartment has great views and decor. Stay here!

    Tony2014-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • The absolute best place to stay for every possible Portland adventure. An incredible view, a wonderful loft and more amenities than listed. The loft itself is a vacation and has easy access everywhere via public transit

    Tommy2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with an amazing view of the city! Only downside was the early morning construction but Tyra was kind enough to provide us with earplugs which helped reduce noise significantly. Tyra was easily accessibly and checked in on us throughout our stay. Highly recommend this cozy loft!

    Terry2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! We rented a car and had no troubles finding street parking within the block. Tyra is great with communication and we had no troubles during check-in and check-out. I would definitely stay at her place again. Thanks for hosting Tyra!

    Jimmy2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect place to stay in Portland! Very central and walkable to everything. Tyra also provided so many good tips and nice touches making you feel right at home. The view from the loft is incredible. Tyra was very quick with responses and is an awesome host. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • We absolutely LOVED our stay at the tiny house. Everything was perfect and Genevieve was so nice. We would definitely come back!

  • We loved staying in the tiny house! The area the house is close to (Alberta) is amazing with lots of nice restaurants and cool venues nearby. We had the best time in beautiful Portland with its welcoming people and likeable atmosphere. The house itself was full of cool thoughtful (vintage) details. And having chickens in the backyard was a cool extra! We definitely love to come back here one day.

    Dani2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the Portland Tiny House! The unit was newly remodeled, bright, and spotless. The hosts had all the "comforts of home" available - shampoo, fresh eggs (!), face towelettes - you name it. The hosts were very responsive via text when we had questions. The neighborhood was a short walk to the Alberta area with tons of cool restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. Check out Pine State Biscuits (about a 3/4 mile walk from the house) for the BEST BRUNCH OF ALL TIME. Highly recommend staying here!

    Sara2015-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house is amazing! We found it had everything we needed for our short stay, and loved the beautiful decor and attention to detail. It's in a great location too, close to the awesome Alberta Arts District, and the Kennedy School just down the road is well worth checking out too. We loved our stay and want to build our own tiny house now :D

    Debbie2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in the Tiny House! The house is clean and perfectly placed in a private area in Duston & Genevieve's gorgeous backyard, complete with a garden, apple tree and chicken coop. We had plenty of space and everything we needed to cook and relax. We loved sitting outside at night under the string lights and laying in the hammock. The Tiny House is located in a fun/artsy neighborhood and super close walking distance to some amazing coffee shops, restaurants and shops. We loved getting to walk everywhere and wander around the neighborhood. It is also an easy cab ride to get to downtown and other areas. We loved everything about the Tiny House and cannot wait to come back. I highly recommend. Duston & Genevieve were wonderful hosts and we felt very comfortable and at home.

    Jenna2016-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Duston & Genevieve created the perfect space for a weekend get-away! The tiny house was close enough to walk to all of the amazing restaurants and coffee shops in town. It was also a quick drive to downtown Portland. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. It had everything we needed for an amazing weekend in Portland.

  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay and the Peninsula Park Cottage. My family and I were looking for a relaxing few days together and we found that and more during our stay with the Mcgarrys. We were met by Heather's husband who was very helpful getting us into the cottage, even assisting us with our luggage, which left us with enough time to explore the wonderful Peninsula Park right across the street. The kitchen has everything to cook a meal (which we did), and we also received good directions to local restaurants. The bed was comfortable and the pullout couch was great for our son. Everything was very clean! We look forward to coming again!

  • We absolutely loved staying at the Piedmont Cottage. The cottage was crystal clean, quiet and well stocked for our stay. Heather was so responsive to every question that I had about using bike transit as our sole form of transportation, etc... The location was perfect as there were many local spots to hit up (coffee shops, bars/brewpubs, and grocery store). We will definitely be back to this little gem of a place!

    Jen2015-07-26T00:00:00Z

Slept comfortable the whole trip. Definitely recommend! Great restaurants within walking distance. Public transit is really close and easy to navigate.

  • Piedmont Cottage was a fantastic place for me to stay while doing business in Portland. It was within walking distance to a great grocery store and had enough amenities for me to be able to cook my own meals (one of my traveling tips to staying healthy while on the road). Really felt at home and in my own space in this cute set up.

    Toréa2012-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We honestly could not have found a more perfect space or hosts than Heather and Topher.. We would not hesitate to recommend Piedmont Cottage...Also the location is amazing!

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests total at a time at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was just an empty crooked shed with no electricity, water or heat and it was filled with trash. Todji purchased the old neglected rental in 2004 when self-employed artists could get a loan. After fifteen years of restoring the main house, while building a career as a sculptor, Todji and Gisele decided to convert the sculpture studio into a "Magic Barn" to host travelers and guests such as yourself! During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from all around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele have taken on the profession of being Airbnb "Artist Inn Keepers" to help support the cultivation of their artistic practices, and to share their creative work with you. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day, please feel free to take a postcard home and visit their sculpture website.
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. • Wow! What can I say? The Magic Barn is truly amazing. My sister and I stayed here for a very cold and icy Sunday evening. They had an extra mattress so there was ample comfortable sleeping. It was heated very well from the fireplace, despite the 23 degree weather outside. Everything about the place is well thought out and absolutely beautiful. The plants, the wonderful sculpture art, the thoughtful decorating, vaulted ceilings and of course, the giant skylights made this place a unique and wondrous place to stay. This is a great example of why AirBnb is superior to traditional hotel lodging. It is obvious the owners have put time and energy into making the Magic Barn a special place. A sparkling five stars. I will be recommending this place to my friend and family. Thanks Todji and Gisele!

  • Super clean, super beautiful and truly a unique place! Can’t wait to come back and spend a few more days there! Loved all the unique decorations and and the beautiful plant life inside the magic barn!

  • A super beautiful stay

    Mackenzie2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The magic barn is indeed a magical experience... I wish I could have stayed a few more days. The inside has been very well renovated, and has a very nice aesthetic. Todji was not around, but I had the number of his housemate if I needed anything. Todji also provided some great reccomendations about places to eat and things to do. The area is great and is in walking distance to many of Portland's best areas. Everything went smoothly and I will be definitely returning... thanks Todji!

  • Great place to stay. Very quiet and close to lots of restaurants, bars, and shops so there’s lots to do around there. We loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Portland.

    Nicholas2018-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Hands down, this is the coolest bnb we've had the pleasure of staying in! Steps from great restaurants, theaters, and bars. Inherently romantic without being too contrived. Pro Tip: super close to one of PDX's New Seasons grocery stores - stock the cute little kitchen with lots of snacks and pick up a bath bomb and a locally crafted candle to enjoy a luxurious soak in the adorable mini clawfoot tub while raindrops tinkle on the skylight above. Unbelievable for it's price and vibrant locale, we'll be back for certain! Embrace the magic!

    Andrew2017-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is pure magic! I would absolutely stay here again. The hosts gave great suggestions for food and fun in the local area and the barn is equipped with everything you could ever need for a weekend away!

Private and Modern. Studio bungalow sleeps three with full kitchen and bathroom. Laundry en suite makes this a great space. Located through a fenced yard. Conveniently located near MLK and a short walk to Killingsworth andAlberta streets.
  • This home was by far the nicest and cleanest place we've stayed in. What we expected is what we received. Eduardo was a great host. We didn't have any issues finding parking and the home was a short Uber/Lyft into downtown. Would recommend and stay again.

    Sasha2018-04-26T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very friendly and welcoming. The guesthouse was conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood. It was clean, cozy and inviting. Had all of the amenities, full kitchen and sleeping accommodations for two. Exceeded our expectations based on price point. I high recommend this Airbnb property

    Gloria2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect! It was immaculately clean and really didn't skimp on the details. Close to some great restaurants and shops. I would recommend it to anyone!

    Krista2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the space and the location! It's very modern and clean. The bed was really comfortable and there were four pillow options so that was lovely. My only suggestions are to bring an eye mask if you want to sleep in because there are no blinds in the large upper window and bring an iPad for music or tv. I will definitely want to stay here the next time I visit Portland - thank you!!!

    Jennifer2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly like the photos, super clean & quiet. Very convenient location.

    Jack2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I really enjoyed staying here! It was very clean and inviting. The bed is CRAZY comfortable so that was great! The bathroom is spacious, has a tub, shower and washer and dryer! The kitchen has what you'd need to cook a meal (oven, stove, spices, and plates). We recommend this place if you just need a place to sleep after exploring the city or are wanting to eat your meals in. It was a great fit for us!

NEW MURPHY BED w/ comfy mattress. Great little tiny house in a fantastic neighborhood. It is cozy and modern. It's a tiny, stand alone house with a private bathroom, but no real kitchen. Short Term Rental Permit Numb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) HO
Brand new, tiny-home style house. 200 sq ft. Covered porch. Full bath with standing tile shower. Full-size wall bed "Murphy bed" installed December 2015. Bamboo floors & reclaimed wood stairs. No kitchen, but has a microwave for heating up leftovers, water, or popcorn. Wifi. This is one block off Mississippi Ave, with many bars, restaurants, and one of the best coffee shops (Fresh Pot) in Portland. A block away from Amnesia Brewing and Grand Central bakery. 10 minute walk from the Yellow Line MAX (Overlook station.) Mississippi Studios is right down the street- a fantastic venue for local and traveling bands.
  • What a great location! These houses are as cute as they seem. Passersby would stop and take a photo if we were standing on the porch. A car stopped and said "Hey, are these those mini-houses I've read so much about?" Anyway, they're nice. A great value. Rick is a good, responsive host.

    Orin2014-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute house with an incredible location! Mississippi Ave has wonderful restaurants and shops and this house was right around the corner from all of that. We were a bit nervous that the bed would not be great because it folds away, but it was great! Overall the stay was lovely.

    Naomi2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was very quick in communicating with us and provided all necessary info. The location is great and the bed was, surprisingly, super comfortable! We were disappointed to find a few items in need of repair. The cracked toilet seat lid and standing water in the shower (slow drain) made it a little bit harder to feel at home here, but a fine stay overall.

    Katie2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was accommodating: he allowed me to drop my bag early. The house is close to Mississippi Ave, and I had a pleasant stay.

    Gabor2018-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The little pink house was just what my boyfriend and I were looking for in our Portland experience. For someone who enjoys things that are unique, this little house definitely hits the spot. The house is located next to an amazing tapas restaurant and adorable shops off Mississippi Street. Downtown is only a 40 minute walk from the little house and allowed us take in the beautiful river views. Rick was amazing with coordination. There was a mix up and I thought he was meeting us at the house versus just letting ourselves in but he contacted me within 5 minutes and also gave me his wife's phone number, along with his own just encase something came up and he couldn't be reached. The adorable house was perfect for the two of us who are super active and wanted somewhere to just enjoy the mornings and nights. Rick had just finished up on the landscaping which gave the house its own oasis. The stairs are steep, very steep but manageable if you are careful or have a doting boyfriend to help you down when you accidently put your skirt on upstairs! :) I think my favorite part of the house had to be the shower. The shower has a floor with what appears to be river rocks grouted into the floor. I'm not going to lie, I may have stayed in an extra 10 minutes because I thought it was so neat and plan to now do something similar to a shower in my own home. Overall I was more then pleased with the stay and would recommend this adorable house to anyone looking for something small, quirky and fun when coming to stay in the Portland area! Thanks Rick!

  • This place served us very well in our visit to Portland. It was comfortable and clean. The bed was great, and we slept well.

    Ann Marie2016-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Rick's place is in prime location for one of the best neighborhoods in Portland. North Mississippi is walking distance to countless bars and restaurants. It's also not far from the yellow line of the max to get downtown. If you're looking for a place to sleep and shower then explore, this is the right place for you.

    Kyle2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is my favorite location in Portland. I felt like I was more of a local than a tourist. The host was prompt in responding to any concerns that we had and they made sure to communicate with us in the days leading up to our visit. The host also had a very welcoming bike map area of Portland. We will definitely be back.

Lovely 2 br. cottage nestled beside a pond w water feature. Kitchen, open sleeping loft with skylights, bath w shower and washer/dryer. Lots of natural light. Can accommodate an entire family comfortably. Private entry on lg. lot through gated backyard.
Nestled in the back corner of a large lot under the canopy of a beautiful mimosa tree, this private cottage offers a full kitchen with sit-up bar, a full bath with a washer/dryer, and a sleeping loft with crow's nest. It's perfect for a couple, two couples, or a small family.
And all of this just 15 minutes from downtown.
  • The Serene Cottage is a great place to stay, full of privacy and beauty, centrally located in one of Portland's most family based neighborhoods, and just a few blocks in every direction from great restaurants and things to do. Jack and Cris are wonderful hosts dedicated to making every stay enjoyable. We would love to return to the Serene Cottage.

    Matt2018-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, so much to say about this amazing little cottage! Jack and Chris have gone above and beyond to make this little place into such a magical paradise. VERY clean, comfortable beds, adorable and cozy fire place, beautiful outside gardens, wonderful neighborhood and fresh coffee grounds from their coffee shop. We didn't want to leave! If you are planning a trip to Portland, this is a must stay location. Five stars all around.

    Brianne2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Cris were lovely. Their cottage is walking distance to many shops and restaurants which makes for a nice stroll through a quiet neighbourhood. Thanks Jack and Cris!

    Rayburn2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place

    Donald2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • We did not actually interact with Jack and Cris during our stay. We got in later than we intended and then left the next morning fairly early. Even so, the cottage was exactly as they described and we enjoyed it. They have converted a garage into a beautiful space, and you could see they've put a lot of work into it. The loft space was plenty large enough for myself, my wife, and her parents. It was less than 15 minutes from downtown, and the neighborhood it was located in was very inviting and had a ton of restaurants, bars, and shops.

    Tim And Andrea2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, welcoming and helpful hosts. We will definitely be back!

    Casey2016-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jack and Cris's place was just perfect for our family vacation to Portland! It was cozy and close to all the places we wanted to check out. Jack and Cris were so nice and hospitable - you can't go wrong with this place!

    Amanda2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is close enough to walk to quite a bit of the food scene if you're okay with the trek. We walked to dinner at Pok Pok and it was so easy. The space we stayed in was so wonderful and perfect for hosting a group of friends. If you've got a group of 4+ consider renting their other listed spaces too. Everything is tucked off the street with an adorable pond and plenty of outdoor seating. Thank you so much for hosting us! I would definitely recommend anyone staying here.

  • We had a great stay here. Parking was a little bit tricky because of traffic and the neighborhood streets are pretty narrow. It's the upper floor of a house, but you have complete privacy upstairs. The pictures are accurate.

  • The Funky Pad was perfect for us. Paul was super cool and helpful. The place was great, exactly as described and close to a lot of cool spots. Check Paul's ultimate guide of places to visit while in town. Very happy with our choice. Thanks, Paul!

    Fernando2016-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was so fun staying with Paul and Carolyn! They were super friendly and attentive to our needs. They provided everything we needed and then some, including coffee and the usage of dishes and wine glasses. Something to note, the little nook room with the second bed is directly next to the main sleeping area and doesn't have a door or curtain. It didn't matter to us, but just know there isn't as much privacy if that's something you want. There are fans to drown out noise, but it was actually super quite up there even though it's on a somewhat busy street. I highly recommend staying here. This place is a winner!

    Ashley2014-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Pauls place was very clean and perfectly located for our stay. He was very accommodating in anything we needed help with and we would definitely stay there again. Thanks.

    Bryan And Tara2016-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, I want to emphasize the fact that Paul is probably the most, up-front, trustworthy, above-board dude of all time. Everything he said/recommended/promised was exactly as said/recommended/promised...from the first day of the trip to the last. The room: EXACTLY as pictured, and more. Perfect for two people. The location was great...quiet, close to everything, on easy bus lines, beautiful, etc. Pro-tip: the small room is like a cloud in a cave. It's soft, quiet, and oh so comfy. (Note: please make sure you have a friend or an alarm clock, because you will sleep all day if left alone). That said, the other bed is equally comfy, and the tv is adjustable so you can see it from both (hooray!) Etc: not only did Paul provide a seamless airport pickup, he also took amazing care of us the entire trip AND recommended places to eat/visit that ended up being some of my new favorite places in Portland (and this was about my 12th time here). All told: hooray for Paul and the Funky Pad. Stay here. It's the bomb. Only make sure you're out before my next trip.

    Camille2014-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at the Funky Pad Suite. The space was roomy for two and comfortable, and the location was convenient for getting all around town. Paul was a great host; friendly, helpful and attentive.

    Adam2014-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic experience! We really did not know what to expect, as this was our first AirBNB trip; so very impressed with the process, the pictures, the options, and the reviews. Paul was not only a fantastic host who had apparently thought of EVERYthing, but his place was warm, inviting, and perfectly depicted and described in previous reviews. It was clean, neat, funky (as promised!) and comfortable in every way. We would definitely stay there again, and have already told others about this treasure.

    Lisa2015-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was an amazing host. He gave us terrific recommendations of what do and where to eat while in Portland. He was very friendly and welcoming. We loved his place and hope to visit again! Great host!

  • A wonderfully located, spacious and beautiful apartment. An amazing deal for everything you get! We had a fantastic time on our Portland trip, and part of that was due to the hominess of the place. Lots of nice little extras - coffee, tea, plates, books, etc. a very welcoming experience

    Abbey2015-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood was super cute! It was a great neighborhood to walk around and was close to local dining options. The description was on target with everything offered. Chuck and Annika were amazing hosts! They thought of every detail from the travel books right down to the welcoming homemade chocolate chip cookies.

    Lisa2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Chuck and Annika were very welcoming to my friend and I during our stay. We were greeted by a welcome sign and cookies! The place was perfect for the two of us! Loved the decor of the place. They had a list of suggested places to go eat within walking distance from the apartment. It was perfect! The only trouble we had was trying to get the TV to work ;-/. They worked with us to get it up and running. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

  • The location and the space were perfect for our stay exploring Portland and surrounds. On street parking really convenient. The list of excellent local food provided was spot on and well used. Highly recommend staying here.

  • My stay here was great! The apartment was very comfortable and easy to access as needed, which was helpful given that I spent lots of time out and about. There is plenty in walking distance, and the city center can be accessed easily on public transit or via Uber. I found the reliable Internet connection and peace and quiet particularly helpful on days when I needed to put in some remote work hours. I would absolutely stay here again, should the opportunity arise. Thanks very much to Chuck and Annika for their hospitality!

Love the SE neighborhood - one block from the best Thai restaurant in the city, great brunches, shops, bars, etc. Visited Portland during a heat wave, and no one has AC, but this listing is partially a basement unit so it stayed wonderfully cool during our entire stay. Didn't get to meet Chuck and Annika, and had a couple late nights, but they never complained or invaded privacy. I recommend this listing to everyone who visits Portland - it was inexpensive, convenient, clean, great layout/lots of space, just excellent. Thank you, Chuck and Annika!

  • John and Annika have done a wonderful job of meeting all of the needs of their renters. This place has kitchen and bathroom supplies, books and maps of the surrounding areas, suggestions of places to see and eat, games and book. It was very clean and comfy. We would definitely come back again!

Nice little place to stay, I opted for Faith's apartment over a hotel as I was working in the area and found it very convenient to walk to restaurants and coffee shops. I will likely stay again next time I work in Portland / Burnside.

We spent just one night at Benjamin and Kristi's hip basement apartment. We arrived at 9 and left at 7, so it was short. We didn't get to meet Benjamin and Kristi, but the experience went very smoothly, with good communication and easy entry with their key pad. They did a great job of turning a small basement space into a really nicely designed spot. I really liked their taste. The shower head was terrific, there was good lighting, and it was quite clean.
