  • We stayed at several Airbnb locations on a road trip. We stayed here for one night only. This location gave us mixed feelings. We'll start with the good. The view was spectacular. The construction of the house was intriguing and interesting, we were given permission to do some laundry which was very helpful to us, and the cat was cute and playful. Now the not so good. It was unusually hot in Portland and the a/c wasn't working very well. Our bedroom was 78-80 degrees throughout the night. The bed was also not very comfortable. This combination made for a night with very little sleep. It was the least accommodating of all our Airbnb experiences with regard to refreshments. We were told to help ourselves to the kitchen but there were not a lot of options. We went to the grocery store for some water and some breakfast items. Overall I wouldn't call it a bad experience, but perhaps just an 'ok' experience. The outside temperature in Portland was around 100 during the day, so it's possible that some cooler weather would have helped our sleeping comfort.

  • Great place to relax. Great views and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you!

  • Lance’s place is fantastic. The views are breathtaking, the place is clean and comfortable with unique mid-century furniture, and Lance is very hospitable. Did I mention that his cat Bukowski is an awesome playful creature? Logistics-wise, we had no trouble getting to and from Portland using ride sharing services. In the end, we just really enjoyed waking up to a sunrise overlooking Portland and coming back to a beautiful night view. There is just something about having a drink, watching the skyline fade to darkness, while listening to jazz.

    Lawrence2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Lance's unique home, especially the spectacular views. Lance welcomed us warmly and gave us a tour, explaining the history of his home. It served as a great base for exploring Portland.

  • Lances place was beautiful. The sunrise from the room is breathtaking. He was very accommodating considering we didn't arrive in to Portland until 2 am.

    Lanh2015-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lance's house was beautiful, exactly what we needed towards the end of a long road trip. Very relaxing! Lance is courteous and informative of places to check out!

    Katherine2016-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lance was both welcoming and accommodating. He is very laid back and a great host. Great views from our room - it was somewhat foggy the weekend we stayed but it did clear up long enough for us to experience the great view.

    Sonya2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lance's place was incredible, and his hospitality made the stay more enjoyable. Such a cool guy with an even cooler cat. Hands down best place to stay in Portland with the best views the city has to offer. I highly recommend everyone checking out his place and sit and chat with him for a bit. Thank you Lance!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • I really can't say enough about this place. It is adorable and very peaceful. The bed was comfy. I thought it would be weird to have to go out to the house for the bathroom, but it totally wasn't. I loved all the cats around. The location was great. Walking distance to some phenomenal restaurants. I would highly recommend.

  • Cute cottage with a lighted pond out back. The cottage had a wood burning stove though not sure if it was functioning. We were there in summer and didn't need it. The cottage also has an A/C unit which was extremely useful. Our first day was 100 degrees. It's on a lovely quiet street and the SE Division neighborhood is just a short walk away. There is a rental garage in the backyard as well so might bump into another family staying there, but we had no trouble at all and we're not disturbed by them.

  • Jack and cris's place is SO cool ! It sits beautifully in their garden close to the house. It feels private, luxurious and special. Only their for one night but it was so great. The bed was really comfortable to !!

  • Such a cute little hut in a great Portland neighborhood! I could not believe how lucky I had gotten to find such a cool place for such a great deal. Loved having my morning tea by the pond right outside. Definitely would recommend!

  • Fantastic location, 5 minute walk from some great restaurants and bars

    Kalie2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very cool little place that is super close to restaurants and public transportation. Such a safe and happy neighborhood, very charming!

  • Jack and Cris' cottage was a great place to stay for the weekend. It's very charming and the location has lots of restaurants and shops nearby you can walk to. The bed in the cottage was a little too soft for my liking, but the wonderful backyard was such a nice retreat after a long day of exploring Portland and the nearby areas. Jack offered some great advice on restaurants and activities going on the weekend we stayed which was very helpful.

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • We loved staying here! Everything was exactly how she described it. The location was also really great because it was close to a lot of neighborhood restaurants and bars. The neighborhood was nice a quaint. Andrée was also very hospitable and helpful and gave us a lot of suggestions on places to visit!

    Abigail2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was a sweet and accommodating host. We ended up being very delayed in arriving Friday night, and she was great about making that possible. The neighborhood is terrific - very quiet, near a wonderful park, great (natural foods) market, and the best breakfast / coffee spot! The garage cum studio/loft is small (and very interesting!) but adequate if you're not going to be spending too much time there. There is no running water in the studio, so you do have to go into the house to wash up, bathe, and use the potty. If that doesn't bother you, this is a great, quirky spot -- and very reasonably priced.

    Signe2014-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Andree was a friendly and thoughtful host. The space was cozy and charming, full of caring details, like fresh fruit and extra blankets. We had a great experience in Portland, due in large part to the peaceful studio Andree has set up in her back yard!

    Tusha2013-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • While the weather in Portland was chilly and damp, Andere's hospitality, and the coziness of her backyard oasis made for a comfortable stay. No matter where one looked on the inside of this brightly painted retreat, one saw something beautiful and creative, with a story all it's own. The host was available, and offered great advice on where to dine locally.

    Caroline2015-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Andrée was wonderful! She was very warm and inviting, introducing me to her wandering cat and sleepy dog. Her home is adorable and very comfortable. It didn't feel awkward to sneak into her home to use the bathroom. She was also accommodating for a later arrival and an early evening shower. The neighborhood is so Portland. Andrée pointed me to several places for food or drinks, including a non-profit pub. I had a lovely time and would love to return.

  • Built in 1926, Andree’s Tiny House is one of the most charming homes we’ve ever stayed in. Andree is an amazing host and took care of our every need, even so far as greeting us a midnight due to a late arrival. 10/10 Highly recommended! We’ll be back to stay again soon. -Ross

  • The little cabinette is cute! I slept really well. The place was quiet and relaxing.

    Sylvia2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Maybe it’s me. I completely missed that I would have to trek outside to the main house to use the bathroom. It’s like camping ... especially since there is no running water in the “tiny house” which is really a converted garage .

With just the right amount of space for two, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, King Memory foam Bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a king bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • I had a fantastic stay at Jason's listing. The space is absolutely beautiful, clean and well-appointed, and check-in and communication were very easy. Hope to be back the next time I'm visiting for work!

  • Great place in great location

    Cathy2018-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jason and Hannah were extremely responsive to questions and concerns and were very kind and accommodating. The apartment is spacious and comfortable with everything needed for a short or long stay. The bed is super comfy and the room is full of lovely natural light from the many windows. Everything was clean, tidy and convenient. The Irvington neighborhood is quiet and full of stunning period homes but is walking distance from vibrant Broadway with great eats and shopping. Pub transit is close by, so you can enjoy the sights of Portland and return to a cozy, peaceful retreat. Would come back in a heartbeat!

    Anna2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful, big studio and perfect for my week in Portland. It was so nice to be in a great neighborhood. And the the bus to work picked up a block away, so my commute was easy. I'd love to stay here again.

    Erynn2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first stay in Portland and Jason's home was a great experience to the city. Jason was there to welcome me with his little dog. The studio is great for a short or long term stay with the kitchen and full private bath. Location is in a very cool neighborhood with streets lined with beautiful trees, cools houses, and is very peaceful. Its an easy to walk/bike to anything you need and bar/coffee shop is just 1 block away. Thanks for the hospitality and a great experience!

    Tyler2015-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This unique little apartment was in a beautiful, central neighbourhood. We really enjoyed getting to know the area and would definitely come back to stay here again. Walkable distance to the Alberta district and to downtown. Whole foods just up the street was great to have.

    Ahren2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little place! I'm sure my first trip to Portland was enhanced by staying at this cute little house. The building is perfectly situated on a beautiful, residential street central to everything in Portland. I'm looking forward to returning!

    Michelle2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay in Jason's apartment. The private entry made it feel very homey! The fireplace was definitely a key feature of the apartment and was a lot of fun. Checking in was a little confusing, as we arrived a little bit early - just as someone else was arriving, but we got settled in easily once we figured out who went where! We had no issues with the apartment, but would note that it can get chilly in there! A space heater is provided, and with that and the fire - we were very comfortable.

You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Sue and Bob's Quaint English Cottage in Portland. Sue and Bob are the most fantastic hosts! Two of the kindest people you'll ever meet who go out of their way to make sure you feel at home and comfortable. The cottage is gorgeous! We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed longer. The bed is super comfy, the kitchen is beautifully decorated and has everything you need (and more - even a blender!) to cook a full meal and the bathroom is impeccable - great shower with solid, hot water and a bath for relaxing. We also loved the garden surrounding Sue and Bob's beautiful property - it looks and smells wonderful! Sue and Bob are two very special people who really know how to host guests. Thank you so much for everything, both of you, you made our first few days in Portland very memorable! An absolutely top notch, brilliant experience!

    Amanda2015-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our 4-night stay with Sue and Bob. Their home is lovely (thanks for the tour!), and the Laurelhurst neighborhood is charming and ideally located. Sue and Bob go out of their way to ensure that you have everything you need - a well-stocked kitchen and bathroom, comfortable bedding, and a detailed book of instructions and information. Parking is on-street, but no problem. We were consistently able to park right out front. We would absolutely recommend staying here.

    Art2015-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • They reached out with a frienly phone call. Wonderful host ...very comfortable to visit with. You can tell they enjoy sharing their lovely home.

    Teresa2015-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really great place to stay! The home is beautiful and the cottage has everything you need. Sue and Bob gave us fantastic recommendations for things to do and see. Their garden is a wonderful place to sit and have a drink. Close to public transit and we walked to great bars and restaurants on Division and Hawthorne.

    Cory2015-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have found a more delightful place to stay in Portland. Bob & Sue were so very gracious and accommodating, and their home and apartment are truly a treasure (home is listed on National Registry of Historic Homes). The apartment was cozy, kitchen very well equipped, reading lamps everywhere :), and the home is conveniently located to I-84. It was just an absolute pleasure to be able to stay in Bob & Sue's home. Rich & Laura, Nebraska.

  • We loved our stay here for a week over our anniversary. It was clean, well-stocked with everything you could ever need, and a gorgeous home altogether. The garden was our favorite part and we spent most of our time sitting in it. Sue and Bob are so friendly and have many suggestions for places to visit! Their home is conveniently located near multiple bus stops so you can get around Portland without a car. Lots of good restaurants, coffee, and shops nearby (we don’t mind walking so we walked to many places, all about a mile or so away). We also loved the Laurelhurst neighborhood and enjoyed looking at the houses. Highly recommended!

  • We had a wonderful time staying at Bob and Sue's home. Sue graciously gave us a tour of the main house plus the rich history. The apartment was very private and so much more than we hoped for, so charming! Our last morning, she set an outdoor garden table for us so we could provide breakfast for my daughter and her boyfriend. We are so grateful for this lovely morning.

    Pat2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house and gardens, lovely apartment, wonderful leafy neighborhood with easy access to freeway. Sue is a delightful, genial and generous host. The spotless, comfortable apartment works for one or two people and makes a great place to stay when you need/want to be in Portland. You'll appreciate the nice bowl of fruit, the washer/dryer, the TV and DVDs, the maps, tourist books and walking tour descriptions and all the other thoughtful touches.

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block or two of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • I can honestly say that this was one our best Airbnb experiences. Laurel and Brian were responsive and really went the extra mile advising us during our trip. Fantastic hosts. The loft is beautiful, clean, private, and very well equipped with everything that was needed for a most comfortable stay. Highly recommended and I cannot wait to go back!

    David2017-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is fantastic - location, space, and hosts. Love the details in the space - high ceilings, great light, pocket door, wide wood beams, heated bathroom floors - the space is thoughtfully curated and so clean! Parking isn't super easy but really only because there are so many things in the neighborhood, so can't complain too much. Thanks for a great visit Laurel + Brian!

  • Very cute, clean, and comfortable guesthouse in walking distance to tons of restaurants, coffee shops and vintage stores! The place was perfect for 3 best friends, the bed was super comfy and we had everything we needed. We didn't want to leave, I would definitely come back and stay here again :)

    Katrina2017-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • It is a great location. There are so many spots that you can walk to. The bus lines are also very close, which makes it easy to get downtown. The place is clean and quiet and Laurel and Brian are wonderful hosts. We would definitely stay here again.

    Sarah2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for a girl's getaway for a few days. The guesthouse is bright and beautiful with tons of natural light in a residental part of Portland. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance though - we recommend Xico (for dinner) and Woodsman Tavern (for brunch). Thanks for hosting us!

Where Bali meets Portland. Come relax in this newly, beautifully designed, private mixed use accommodation. Just five short blocks from Portland's hip N Williams district. A rooftop deck.
I have a total of five rooms, each listed separately in this unique mixed-use building where I also live and work. You will enter just past the Ned Ludd front patio via a private, secure, gated entrance off of MLK at NE Failing street and follow the stairway up to the second level. This is the larger of the three rooms. Each room is newly refurbished and furnished with beautiful, responsibly sourced tropical salvage out of Indonesia and locally re-purposed wood/trim doors and windows. Your private room comes with a window, a wall-mounted flatscreen t.v., small refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, free wi-fi an armoire, an ornate sink carved out of stone, down pillows, down comforters, a king-sized posturepedic mattress and zen colored walls that might just make you think you are in... Bali?
NEPO (aka NE Portland) is hip and cool and like so many hip Portland neighborhoods–it is ever-expanding and reinventing itself. New restaurants, shops, boutiques and businesses are popping up all over. Whether you are looking for a place to lay your head for the night while you get out and explore during the day, or you are just looking for a place you can hole up and relax, we've got you covered. The options and amenities you will find here in your little oasis in NEPO are plentiful.
  • Tim's place is epic. Fantastic location. Really cool area. Wonderful restaurant below. Great shops and restaurants down Alberta. Apartment was beautiful and the bed was magnificent - best sleep all holiday. Highly recommend. Wished we stayed longer.

  • Great place for a urban trip in Portland. Pet friendly, and we really enjoyed our stay and also the nice patio where you can sit and relax. The room is lovely and clean with great style!

    Shiyi2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy was a great host. The place is great. The neighbourhood is really cool. Right near a frequent bus stop and a couple books from some really cool streets. The bed was super comfortable and the space worked really well to hang out in and have privacy at the same time. It was excessively hot in Portland but the AC kept us cool all the time. The bikes were a great help to get around. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Judson2015-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy's place was great. Loved the location and the room!

    Simon2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy’s place was close to many great restaurants and bike share stations made it quick and easy to get into the city as well.

    Xiao2018-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Tim's Airbnb was great! Tim was really freidnly and made us fee at home. He told us about the bikes we can use freely and the places we can go around the area. There are two main reaons why I loved about this place so much. 1: the airbnb location was in the middle of all the good spots (food/drinks). It took me and my fiancee only around 10-20min drive to get from place to place. 2: the bed was amazingly comfortable! We enjoyed our stay in Portland so much and we would like to come back!

    Sujin2015-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first AirBNB experience and this place definitely set the bar high. The host went out of his way to make us feel welcome on a schedule that accommodated us. The place was as good as described; the pictures are very accurate. The room was clean and tidy. The furniture was of great quality and cool to look at. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets and pillows were great. The neighborhood was nice (only a $10.50 Uber ride from the center of downtown). The host provided off street parking. The host was flexible with our check out and extremely respectful of our privacy. This was a great experience, and we hope that all of our future AirBNB trips will be this good.

    Natasha2015-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • The space was beautiful and Timothy was very kind and hospitable. I would definitely love to stay again.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Anna and Jeremy made sure that we had a very relaxing time in Portland! They made sure we felt at home in their home! They have a beautiful space in a nice neighbourhood.

    Candice2016-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean place with a beautiful bathroom and great kitchen. Very close to food and drink. As stated by owners it is not designed with kids in mind, but the decor and design is simple and solid so it did accommodate us well with our one year old.

    Luke2017-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy are kickass hosts and their place is just perfect for the best stay ever in Portland ❤

    Connie2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish and comfortable place in a great neighbourhood, excellent stay

    Kendal2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Anna & Jeremy have created a lovely, cozy, Portland space that you are guaranteed to love! The decor and finishes are beautiful, and you feel instantly at home. Probably the best part of the experience was Anna's guide to the neighborhood (drawn to scale) and her fast responses with recommendations of places to eat and drink. Anna even gave me a custom running route for my morning run! Wonderful, walk-able neighborhood and Anna gives the key to finding everything you need. Super fast at responding with communication and very engaging. Looking forward to staying here again!

  • You’ll be hard pressed to find a good value AirBnB like this one in a better location! Right in the middle of a really fun and lively neighbourhood. Tonnes of amazing restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. The space itself is simple but very stylish, modern and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

    Keri2018-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia's place was absolutely perfect! The space was immaculate and had everything you could need. Loved how centrally located it was to everything, tons of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Anastasia took the time to give us great suggestions on to things to do in the area, her level of communication was awesome! Would definitely stay here again!

    Aaron2017-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Anastasia was an incredible host who shared many local tips with us. We ate at two restaurants per her recommendation! The apartment is located in the heart of the Alphabet District in a very safe and trendy neighborhood. I highly recommend this Airbnb!

    Elizabeth2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic.

    John2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay here was great, and Anastasia and her husband were both super accommodating and sweet. They offered great recommendations on the area, and were helpful with logistical issues that arose as well. The room was modern and very cozy, and the location was awesome. Would definitely come back again.

    Kyle2016-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! The communication, location, and price were on point. Will definitely check availability the next time we're in Portland!

    Daniel2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay very much at the Lovejoy studio. Everything we needed was provided. Very clean and neat. The location is prime for the Northwest part of Portland. Lots of great shops and eatery's near by. Anastasia was welcoming and very responsive to any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again.

    Erica2016-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a comfy stay in an amazing neighbourhood in Portland, this is the place. The studio is exactly as described and really relaxing. NW Portland is quite an upmarket 'hood and there are tonnes of great bars, cafes, restaurants and shops just steps from the door. Plus, there's a bagel place at the bottom of the stairs and a Blue Star donuts just around the corner, so there's breakfast sorted. You can also easily walk to the Pearl District and Downtown, although the street car is also on the corner. My plane arrived quite early in the morning, but Anastasia let me stash my bags then sent me a message as soon as the apartment was ready to go. If you're staying in Portland for a few days, this is a great place to use as a base.

Our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide views of the west hills and flood the room with an abundance of natural light, even on the greyest of drizzly Portland days. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; It's quite small, so if you're needing more of a "hangout spot" this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to two main restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • Melissa and her husband were great hosts. They were there to greet us and gave us suggestions for places to eat at and things to see in Portland. The studio was clean, modern, and in a perfect location. If we are ever in Portland again, we would definitely stay here.

    Riley2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • I just stayed in my dream home - beautiful decor and furnishings, lots of light, greenery inside and out, and well-thought out touches throughout. The neighborhood is so close to great food and shops. Parking was super convenient. And Melissa is a thoughtful host. Great experience!

  • Melissa and Brian's place was a garden suite dream - they put such care and thought into every detail to ensure their guests have a wonderful trip and it shows. The hosts were easily available in person or by text and very helpful even leading up to our stay. The location is central to a number of local shops and attractions and the restaurant recommendations list was so appreciated and came in handy multiple times.

    Paula2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's place is even better in person! It is amazingly light and bright! She was so easy too communicate with and greeted us after we arrived to make sure we were all taken care of. The studio has everything you might need and was super comfortable! We were lucky to arrive on a sunny March day so we could enjoy the outdoor patio!

    Chelsea2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful and has everything you need. Melissa is an outstanding host! She keeps everything very clean and well stocked. She also greeted us and was easy to get hold of. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Bright and clean private bedroom just one block off of Mississippi St. district in N. Portland. Minutes from downtown via bike, light rail or car. Easy access to/from the Airport too! Five years in and our five star rating is going strong!
This home is clean, quiet, creative and perfectly situated for an amazingly rich and convenient Portland experience. With a comfortable Queen bed (fits 2), wood floors, ample closet space, garden views and adjacent shared bathroom, you'll feel right at home. Please note that we ask our guests to limit bathroom visits to 15 minutes (especially in the morning) as this space shares a bathroom with an additional Airbnb room. Full access to kitchen, living room with fireplace, and landscaped garden patio with raised beds and seating. The home is full of plants and art from around the world. No pets/Allergen free! The Mississippi St. district is the place to be! Amazing restaurants, food carts, bars, breweries and stellar music venues are literally a minutes walk from the front door. NOT an easy place to get bored! Parking is easy in this safe neighborhood. The MAX light rail system has a stop just minutes away (walking) that can shoot you downtown or drop you off from the airport. Please note that our close proximity to the I-5 freeway does provide some background noise (not really noticeable inside the house). PLEASE NOTE: Arthur and Adam live in an adjacent building on the property. Holly is our house manager and good friend - and lives on the top floor of this home.
Portland's Historic Mississippi District is definitely where you want to stay when visiting the city. A gorgeous and funky stretch full of great shops, award-winning restaurants, an incredible music venue and amazing bars with outdoor patios and inspiring craft cocktails. SUPER easy to get to other parts of the city from here too!
  • The place was awesome! The best Airbnb so far that I have stayed, I did not meet Adam but Arthur was very welcoming and yes free Beer!! Great patio in the back to chill after walking everywhere, bars and restaurants nearby and the #4 bus stops 2 blocks from the house and that takes you into Portland!! The room couldnt have been better and the communication prior to my stay was great too!! I know everyone says it but I really would stay here again and I will tell my friends too!! Thanks!!

    Christopher2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie and Adam are fabulous hosts, outstanding. Their house is close to public transport, in a great part of town, and the room is so warm and cozy, their house is gorgeous. The best nook to come home to when traveling. Thank you both so much for providing such a comforting, inspiring, welcoming place to stay :)

  • If you're heading to Portland, stay here! :) The house has a very welcoming and comfortable feel. Everything is as displayed in the photos. It's a perfect location to all of Portland, and getting around is a breeze. I also had the pleasure of spending some time with Adam and Arthur over a couple of drinks. They are two of the nicest people you could ever meet and made me feel so welcome in their home. My best airbnb experience yet.

Relaxed, spacious + light boho-modern basement apartment with private entry. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. It's a great landing pad to explore Portland! 15 minutes from the airport and downtown, ample free street parking and wi-fi . We are within walking distance to sooo many outstanding restaurants, coffee + bars: Breakside Brewery, The Firehouse, Tamale Boy, Tough Luck Bar, Dame, Beast, Expatriot, DOC, and many other great restaurants, brewpubs and boutiques.
The apartment is located in our mid-century home on a quiet residential street in the hip Concordia neighborhood. Situated between the exciting Alberta Arts District, Concordia University and the up-and-coming Woodlawn neighborhood, you cannot beat the selection of great restaurants, shops, and parks within walking or biking distance. Whether you just want to chill in front of the wood-burning fireplace, wander the neighborhood, or have a glass of wine outside, feel free to relax and make yourself at home. With a full kitchen at your disposal you can make the most out of the local farmer’s markets and excellent grocery stores in the neighborhood too. This space is ideal for business travelers, with wi-fi and a full kitchen. We enjoy meeting all of our guests, but we respect your privacy and space as well. Please feel free to interact with us as much, or as little, as you'd like. We live just a short 10-15 minute drive from Portland International Airport (PDX). We are located about 10-12 minutes from downtown Portland by car. Public transportation is just a few blocks away.
The Concordia neighborhood is unique in its diversity, with long-time residents, young families and college students attending Concordia University. Other great attributes: - Close to downtown, and about 15 minutes from the airport. - Incredible restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, art galleries, music, and street art are a short walk or bike ride away. - One block from public transportation that drops you downtown before you know it! - Close to our favorite grocery store (New Seasons) with organic food, local products, and an excellent source for gifts or mementos of your stay. - Beautiful Woodlawn, Alberta and Fernhill Parks are within 6 -12 blocks away, or head to Forest Park for great hiking in the middle of the city. - Concordia University is two blocks away, and a great place to stop by to watch a baseball or soccer game in their beautiful open stadium, check out their grounds or wander into the library.
  • Melissa’s place is very cute and extremely clean! It was perfect for our short trip!

    Ashley2018-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • My fiance and I stayed at Melissa's place for a week. We were looking for a relaxing week away from work, to just relax and enjoy Portland. Melissa's place allowed us to do just that! We made breakfast every morning in the space + she left Stumptown coffee beans for us to use! The space was great - we had our own entrance - it was downstairs from where she lives, so we had our own bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, etc. It was very clean and she left a binder of suggested places along with menus. The heater works very well - as we were there in the dead of winter! The Airbnb is not incredibly close to downtown, but almost everywhere in Portland, you need a car anyway. It's about a 5min drive from Alberta, which is where we spent most of our time. Great food, bar, and scene! Thanks, Melissa for an awesome stay :)

    Gina2017-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's place has it all! The basement apartment is quiet, clean, and super stylish. It's nearby the lively Alberta street, which has lots of cute shops and restaurants. Downtown Portland is a short drive away, and we found it really easy to navigate all over Portland from the apartment. Melissa was a joy to communicate with and made check-in and check-out a breeze. I hope to stay here again the next time I'm in Portland.

  • I do not wish to write a public review.

    Brian2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a great location, right next to the Alberta arts district which was great to walk around and had some great food! The place was so cute and made or stay very special!

    Nicole2018-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This studio had a great interior and ambiance. There were local restaurants and shops close by that we birded to. All of the ubers around town from that location were very cheap. The pets were adorable, and Melissia let us store our luggage there even after check out. The only thing we realized that there was no microwave but it wasn't that big of a deal. 10/10 would recommend.

    Emily2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa’s place was so dreamy—exactly as pictured, super clean, and works well for a quick stay. We didn’t use the (brand new, huge) kitchen because we were only there for one night, but if making food at your Airbnb is a priority, this is a great fit. Just note that if you are staying for more than a few nights, there is no dresser for unpacking your clothes. Melissa was super helpful and let me drop off my suitcase before check-in, and provided tons of tips/directions/suggestions so we could enjoy Portland to the fullest!

    Hallie2018-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • This AirBnB was an amazing location to stay at. Definitely a closer location to a lot of the hikes in Portland and had the added benefit of being close to popular food locations. Pok Pok and Nongs were super close.

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • It is clear to see, in the first moments of meeting Brad and Becca, that they are very cool, easy-going, loving people. Their home is just awesome. "We HAVE to stay there!" They honestly had me at "treehouse." It was an absolute shame that we did not get to spend time with them, as we were in a rush to catch a ferry, at the final leg of our three week trip. If we ever go back to Portland, we will definitely head back to the treehouse!

  • Probably the most awesome hosts I've stayed with so far, and yet I only got to stay with them for 2 days. Brad and Becca were super friendly, easy to communicate with, and easy going. They are great hosts whether you want to socialize or have total privacy. They provided nearly all the essential amenities one would need. I was on a trip for an interview, so having an iron and board in my room for my personal use (along with umbrellas) was great. The house was super clean and tidy, as well as BEAUTIFUL! I take a big appreciation in visually pleasing atmospheres, so this added to my great stay. Biscuit and Carlos (kitty and puppy) were pleasant to be around whenever they were present! Thanks for a great stay.

  • The reservation was canceled 80 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.

  • Beautiful flat, super clean bedroom/bathroom, and adorable four-legged roommates--what more can you ask for? I was feeling under the weather the evening I stayed--what a great place to rest and recharge. Occasional visits from their kitten and pup were also a great mood-booster :) Less than a block from an amazing sandwich joint, and short distance to other amenities. My husband and I unfortunately had to blow through town en route to Australia, so we only stayed for a night and left early the next morning. But we're already looking forward to a longer trip to Portland, and we wouldn't hesitate to make this our home base then. Thanks guys!

    Jessica2014-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Even before we arrived the directions were clearly given to us as to how to check in & check out. The room was all cleaned up! It was cozy, comfy, and well equipped with everything you need from a heater to umbrellas. I'm so thankful to have stayed at Brad & Becca's place for the weekend! They are friendly and an absolutely adorable couple. Thank you guys!

  • I loved our stay at the Urban Treehouse! Brad and Becca were very friendly and communicated all of the important details. The room was comfortable and clean and the location was perfect!

  • Brad is a very nice guy who knows how to make his guests feel at home in their beautiful house!

    Kasper2013-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Brad & Becca's house is great, very cozy, tidy and inviting. The location is supreme, not far to either downtown or the upstreaming Division street. Brad & Becca were amazing hosts and gave us great advise on places to eat. Their dog and cat were great fun to play with. Would return anytime. Highly recommended.

Comfortable, modern basement studio with private entrance, only minutes away from downtown and located in safe, quiet Piedmont neighborhood with plenty of on-street parking. Comfy queen size bed, private bath, private kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hot water maker, and all the basic amenities.
Warm and cozy space for two with modern furnishings and its own complete kitchen and bathroom.
Piedmont is a quiet, family oriented neighborhood. There is a large city park a few blocks away with a beautiful rose garden, tennis courts and public pool. The trendy Alberta Arts and Mississippi neighborhoods are nearby.
  • Ok if you’re looking at this space just book it!! Amazingly beautiful space and close to everything you’d want to do here! Trust me when I say this place is worth much more then you’ll spend! You’re walking distance to Mississippi street and Alberta art district which are the newer up and coming places to be. A 10 min Lyft or Uber ride to downtown, and close to much more! On top of that we stayed there at the hottest weekend in Portland and that you to the hosts for putting central ac in the studio and bonus we could control the temp on the nest!!! Y’all are amazing! Would definitely recommend this location, and hope our next Portland adventures brings us back here!

  • Robert's house was easy to find and easy to check in. The room was remodeled well and suited our needs. Anyone who is allergic to cats may wish to book elsewhere as the place definitely had a feline odour.

  • Awesome place! Super clean and close to tons of vegan restaurants and night life. Hiking areas are about half an hour away but the drive there is beautiful. Great place, great price and great area. 10/10.

  • Don’t even question it BOOK NOW! I could not have asked for a better experience! The communication with Robert was superb. The location his home is excellent. The space is amazing, very cozy and extremely inviting. We had everything we needed at our fingertips. Robert was extremely easy to reach, responded quickly and when we reached the space everything was exactly as described. Not who only were we impressed by the layout and design of the space but it was stylish, modern and so clean. Robert has an extensive list of movies for viewing, catalogs, brochure and suggestions for nearby places to visit while in the area and the location is simply perfect! Seriously don’t wait to book. Just for it! We will definitely be rebooking ASAP and recommending to all of our friends!

The bunk room has been created as a nod to the hotel's creation as a safe place for sailors. You'll find the same thing in this space with 18' ceilings- cozy, strong, and comfortable triple bunk beds.
At The Society Hotel, we believe in making every traveler feel authentically connected to our community so they are ready to enjoy our beautiful city from day one. We offer three ways to experience our unique hotel: bunk rooms for the affordable community experience; private rooms with shared bathrooms for comfort without excess; and suites for a bit of affordable luxury. All of our rooms come with plush beds, 10-foot windows, high speed wifi, and a hospitality experience unlike any other.
Old Town is Portland's oldest neighborhood - the original epicenter of Portland, Oregon. It has a colorful history and an equally colorful present! We are the epicenter of Portland's street fashion scene, the nightlife district, as well as a social services haven for those most in need. So expect an eclectic mix from Old Town, and hopefully love it as much as we do!
  • I stayed 2 nights in the society hotel and both days were very different because of the people that stayed. The beds are actually really comfortable despite it being in a bunk. The receptionists/attendants were very helpful. My first night everyone kept to themselves but second night I felt awkward passing by people sitting at the common table without saying anything, so I broke the silence and made new friends that I hung out with later that night (everyone were traveling solo from all over the place). That made traveling solo much more fun and only places like this can make meeting strangers much easier.

    Connie2016-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome. The bunk was super cosy and comfortable, the bunkroom was spotlessly clean and the bathroom/kitchen area was really nice. The café was really good value and the food was fresh and filling. All the staff i met were so friendly and helpful, I loved my stay here and will definitely be back!

    Caitlin2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This hotel is amazing. First off they are a short walk from the train station (Union Station), second they are also a cafe. They are two blocks or less from the MAX station. This helps out so much! Also it’s so much fun to have coffee and local pizza by you, it helps feed you in the time you’re there. You’re in downtown Portland too. Lots to do.

    Shiree2018-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • The staffs at Society Hotel were friendly and helpful. The description is accurate. The place is clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay at Society Hotel next time I am in Portland. Thank you for being such an awesome host!

  • This was probably the best Airbnb experience I've ever had. Paul was a fantastic host from the moment we arrived - he picked us up from the airport and when we passed by a restaurant we wanted to try, he dropped us off and took our bags back to the apartment for us. He stayed in communication with us all weekend to give us recommendations and answer our questions. He also came into our room during our stay to leave fresh towels, do the dishes, etc, which was super nice. At one point he even offered us his laptop so we could watch a movie! Talk about 5 star service! The space itself is exactly as advertised - super cute, comfortable, and very well decorated. The bookshelf even has toiletries/necessities that you can purchase if you run out which was very convenient! I would definitely come back here!

    Farah2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED our stay on the "Funky Pad Suite" in Portland. Paul was a wonderful, friendly, helpful host and he was so accommodating. All of our needs were met and we could not have asked for a better host and a cozy, inviting, clean and well kept apartment.

    Susan2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great find in the heart of the city, Paul and Carolyn are very thoughtful and tastefully made a space for traveling guests with everything one might need. Would stay here again in a heart beat and hope to be a return guest.

  • We were delighted to find the Funky Pad! Paul is a delightful and friendly host who is helpful in everyday. The cute Funky Pad is accurately described and pictured on the site. Beds were extra comfortable and we enjoyed the location and ease of getting around Portland. Thanks Paul!

  • Best AIRBNB experience I've ever had. The space is wonderful, the location was excellent, so many ways to get around from this beautiful neighbourhood and it felt very central. As great as the actual place was.. the host Paul was even better. Paul was clearly passionate about having guests enjoy Portland and his home - he took pride in the space and was a sensational person to get fabulous local knowledge from. Our time in Portland was made twice as good as a result of Paul's reccomendations, he sent us an unbelievable comprehensive list of things to do, his favourite restaurants, bars everything! Fantastic experience all around and absolutely loved Portland.

    Landon2015-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Portland staying at Paul's place. The location was great, the space was clean and inviting, and Paul was prompt with his communications and very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again!

A newly constructed peaceful loft, perfect for a couple or solo traveler. Large windows that look out the lush garden, a bedroom upstairs and full kitchen and bathroom downstairs. High ceiling, doug fir details, floating stairs, & lots of natural lights. Showing local artist's work. Enjoy the roses and raspberries! A beautiful neighborhood to walk around. A 10-15 minute walk to Kennedy School and the Alberta Arts district. Downtown is a 10-15 minute drive or a quick bus ride.
high ceiling, natural woods, natural lights, beautiful garden filled with herbs and birds - makes it a great meditation yoga space
Our neighborhood is a charming pocket of Portland life. The neighbors are long time residents- a good mix including queer homes and families. People spend a lot of their time in gardening and we occasionally invite each other over for tea. It is quiet yet close to active areas like Alberta arts, and only minutes drive to the river drive.
  • Jooyoung's place was pleasant and adorable! I felt right at home staying here by myself for several days. There was so much sunlight and plants surrounding me that it felt very cozy. It's super close to great little shopping and food areas and taking the bus and walking around were super easy from the location. I can't wait to visit Portland again and stay here in the future! I would definitely recommend it!

    Leslie2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • What my husband and I loved the most was how close this location was to everything! We were only 15-20 minutes from downtown and 20-30 minutes from the Columbia River Gorge. The neighborhood is quiet and feels safe-we always found parking. What we loved about Portland is that you could drive a few blocks and find food pods, coffee shops, and bars without having to drive to downtown. Communication and check in was spot on. The home itself is beautiful, clean, and full of light. We really value cleanliness!! I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

    Jessica2017-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • The minimalism of the place is what I loved best about it, I felt like I (Email hidden by Airbnb) fortable, but beware, its soo comfortable that you may never want to leave. The interior is well designed and poses as an inspiration for my own home. It is a close walk to many great parks, restaurants, shops, and so etc. All I can say is that you NEED to give this beautiful home a try and see for yourself, you wont be disappointed!

    Michael Clark2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much!! I really enjoyed staying at Jooyoung's space for weekend. The space itself is really organized, clean, functional and minimal -- you can also really gain a feel of Jooyoung's work and art as it can be found throughout the home. Absolutely lovely feeling just being in this space. Check in and check out was a breeze, and the host was really receptive to changes and messages -- For example, I had to change my check out date and she was flexible. The wifi password had changed, and she replied almost immediately. Amenities are great -- has nice kitchen, fridge, and bathroom. The heaters on top and bottom floor work really well! and kept the space warm during the rainy cold weather. It's located in the NE area, so there are plenty of places to visit and eat. There's also a really amazing converted venue called the Kennedy School that's within walking distance. I found myself so excited to go back to this space for some rest and just simply lounging around at night after being out for the day. I really hope I can come back to visit and stay again some time soon!!

    Ryan2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Garden Sanctuary is in a great location in NE Portland, really just minutes away from all kinds of restaurants, shopping, and everything else. The space itself is beautifully designed and thoughtfully appointed, with everything you could need for a comfortable stay.

  • Jooyoung’s space is very peaceful and cozy. My partner and I stayed in Portland just for the weekend and had an amazing time. Her Airbnb is within walking distance to some cool spots which we really appreciated. Would absolutely recommend!

    Alexa2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Light and modern. Feels like Portland should feel and very close to the Kennedy Center.

    Steven2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • A fabulous sanctuary in a wonderful location. Quiet and serene with great access to the local shops and restaurants. Jooyoung is always available if needed and is happy to help. I would highly recommend this place for a couple or individual who is looking for a city retreat to unwind and relax. Would highly recommend.

Buckman is a close in SE Portland neighborhood which is an increasingly popular place to live. The apartment is at the eastern end of the neighborhood. There are parks, a picturesque cemetery, good restaurants, wine bars, craft brewing pubs and the Laurelhurst movie theater, all within walking distance. The #15 bus line runs to downtown on the other side of the cemetery (6 blocks). A little further afield (just over a mile) is the Hawthorne district where there are some off beat shops and more places to eat and drink. Downtown is 2 miles away. The apartment is part of a new build and is situated at the rear of the property next to the garden It is one story up (over the garage) and receives a lot of natural light. It is fully self-contained, all appliances are new which makes self-catering very easy. What it lacks in history it more than makes up for in convenience! There is also ample free street parking directly outside the house. Buckman is pretty close to downtown while still having a residential flavor. It also contains a number of agreeable restaurants, wine bars and brewpubs. Everyday shopping needs such as grocery stores are also well served. Additionally it is pretty easy to get to the major freeways for travel purposes. Buses run to downtown and back a few blocks over.
  • Honestly can't wait to get back to stay at cara's cool bungalow getaway. It's perfectly appointed, fantastic neighborhood, really easy to get in and out and super comfy when you're there. The hosts are smart and helpful and helpful. The room is large, bright, clean and has everything you'd need. First rate all around.

    Jesse2014-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time staying at Cara's apartment in Portland! It's located in a very quiet neighborhood with plenty of parking during my two days there. There are plenty of restaurants around when you're hungry. Downtown Portland was only 5 mins away by car. The pictures on this page were spot on: beautiful, clean, and modern. Compared to a typical hotel, the amenities offered here were above and beyond. The keyless entry was definitely a nice feature that I overlooked, and Cara was only a phone call/message away if I ever needed anything. I will definitely book this place again in the future!

    Alphonso2014-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was just as it is pictured, and I felt right at home. It is one of the nicest air bnb's I've stayed in and I loved the setup. It was very clean, quiet, and the access to great shops and restaurants nearby was very convenient. I would highly recommend it.

    Mel2015-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent all round. The apartment was comfortable, clean, conveniently located, and Cara and Roger went beyond the call of duty to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended.

  • We were pleasantly surprised on our evening arrival with a split of wine. What a nice touch! The location was perfect as we were able to walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go. A great launching spot for exploring both East and West Portland. The studio was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our short stay. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Portland.

    Cathy2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is like a hideaway tree house. It is elegant and abundantly supplied with everything to make a trip comfortable. Cara even left a bottle of wine for us, in addition to coffee and cream! Thank you, Cara for a restful, sophisticated retreat near great restaurants and coffee houses.

    Judy2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Renting with Cara and Roger made our trip so enjoyable! They are such great hosts and welcomed us warmly with a bottle of wine and coffee. The cozy apartment is extremely clean and exceeded our needs. The neighborhood is safe and a great place to explore. I would recommend this space for any couple visiting Portland.

    Cindy2013-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. This is a superb studio apartment. Spotlessly clean, fully and thoughtfully equipped, very cosy and comfortable. Felt like a brand-new suite. Located on quiet street in wonderfully funky Portland neighbourhood. I was sorry not to get a chance to meet Cara. I'm sure the studio is a wonderful reflection of her.

The 220 sq ft cabin is new (2014) eco-friendly construction with locally harvested sustainable blue pine floors and trim and reclaimed vintage doors and fixtures. The cabin is one bedroom and one bathroom (no kitchen). The queen bed comfortably fits a single traveler or couple, or two friends who don't mind sharing a bed. Bathroom has step-in shower, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, towels and hair dryer. French press, electric water kettle, and mugs are provided for you to make a quick cup of coffee or tea before going on your daily adventures. Mini-fridge keeps drinks or leftovers cold. Large windows look out onto rambling yard with a mixture of woodsy NW native plants, berries, fruit trees, vegetables and a rotating cast of local birds, squirrels, raccoons and opossums. Efficient and silent convection wall heaters keep the place warm and cozy in winter. Screened windows that open up on all sides let in cross breezes of cool northwest air on summer nights.
We live on a residential street in the Mississippi / Williams neighborhood known for its locally owned restaurants, bars, breweries and artisan shops. Enjoy some good food or coffee within a few blocks of our house at places like Ristretto Roasters Coffee, Life of Pi Pizza, Kayo's Ramen, XLB Dumplings or Ned Ludd's famous wood-fired dinners. Sample local brews at Lompoc's Fifth Quadrant, Ecliptic Brewing, Stormbreaker Brewing or HopWorks BikeBar. Our local grocery store New Seasons Market (like Whole Foods) is 5 blocks away for any supplies you may need. Yoga Shala is 3 blocks away for any yogis that need a fix during their stay. See bands play at Mississippi Studios, Secret Society or Wonder Ballroom, 15 min walk.
  • Tracy's cabin is in the perfect location – right by NE Williams & Mississippi, arguably the best streets in Portland (with the coolest shops and nicest food). It's a gorgeous cabin, incredibly comfortable and I had the easiest, most laid-back four nights there. Tracy was absolutely lovely and gave loads of good info about the area, and was on hand to help out and even offer me a lift to the other side of the city! This is a great choice if you want to be independent, in the heart of the coolest part of Portland, and have a sweet, cosy place to call home for a few nights.

  • Had a great stay! House was the perfect size for two, in a great neighborhood next to plenty of good restaurants and bars. Clean, modern and comfy.

  • Tracy's place was perfect for our visit to Portland. Private, spacious, and comfortable - plus it was in a great neighborhood with plenty of good food and drink within walking distance. Tracy was super communicative and ready to help make our stay perfect. We would definitely stay again!

  • Tracy's cabin was exactly what we needed! Very quiet little spot in town with comfortable decor. I highly recommend staying here!

    Patrick2015-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about the place and stay was perfect! An abundance of handing, super ripe concords greeted us at the door steps. The bed and sheets were very comfortable. The place had everything perfectly organized and easy to find. Thank you!

    Alex2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy was a wonderful and attentive host and her cabin was the perfect urban retreat for a weekend getaway in Portland! I would gladly stay there again :)

    Andrew2015-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • The host (Tracy) was informative and friendly, and went out of her way to help us find our way around Portland, and made us feel very comfortable. The Cabin was beautiful, well appointed, and very quiet. It was a trouble-free and relaxing weekend, and we'll do it again soon.

    Robert2014-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved this place so much! It was very hard to go and sight see when this tranquil home kept calling us to stay. I would definitely stay here again!

Spacious master bedroom with private bath, entrance & deck; easy access to transportation, walking distance to N Williams, N Mississippi, The Pearl, Rose Quarter/Convention Center, east side amenities, & Emanuel Hospital. All are welcome! airbnb.com/rooms/2291626?s=51
This is a large master suite with accommodations for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay: a Keurig coffee maker, complimentary coffee and tea, a refrigerator, a microwave, dishes, knives, and silverware. The room also has cable TV, Queen size bed, foldout futon sofa, airbed in closet, sitting area & desk. "...the bathroom was unexpectedly awesome with two sinks, and such a large shower with dual heads." Heating and air conditioning is a mini-split which keeps the temperature comfortable and quiet.
Eliot neighborhood is full of popular dining establishments, coffee shops, music venues, parks, and the Matt Dishman community center with in-door swimming pool. This is a great close-in Portland community with access to everything you need. Several places for live music include the Secret Society, White Eagle Saloon, Wonder Ballroom and, of course, the Rose Garden Moda Center.
  • Jere is an amazing host and the room is perfect. I moved here to Portland a little over a month ago from TX, and Jere has been instrumental in helping me to acclimate to my new home city. She is very knowledgable, provided maps, invited me on hikes, answered many questions, invited me in to the main part of the home for tea, and even met me after work to walk home (from downtown area). Her family members are very friendly and helpful as well. The room is large, clean, and comfortable with a nice private entrance covered deck and a huge bathroom, shower, and walk-in closet. I couldn't ask for a better host family or better accommodations as I begin a new life in Portland!

    Lisa2014-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in Portland. I don't think I could give Jere any higher reviews. The space is large and beautiful and she has put so much thought into the little amenities she provides. It's a quiet neighborhood but super convenient to the bus lines. We went all over the city with no problems. Jere is also very helpful with suggestions, maps and help if needed. :)

    Brittany2014-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jere was a very gracious host. The property was exactly like the pictures. Everything was clean and well thought out. Jere was able to give us lots of information about the neighborhood, as well as downtown Portland to help in our sightseeing. The area was amazingly quiet and peaceful for being in a city neighborhood. Relaxing on the porch in the morning with coffee was a wonderful way to start a day in Portland.

    Terry2015-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jere was an amazing host. She was gracious enough to pick me up from the airport so that I could register for my class on time! The room was gorgeous and cozy. Jere has really put a lot of thought into all of the amenities available. The umbrella saved my life :-). I would recommend Jere and her accomodations 100% and would definitely stay here again.

    Lindsay2014-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jere was great from the moment we lan ded in Portland. She picked us up from the nearest Max stop and took us to our room. She gave some very useful information and left a lot more info in the room. The room was spectacular and definitely a step up from any hotel. The location was great and it was very easy to get anywhere in Portland from the Airbnb. I highly recommend staying with Jere on your visit to Portland.

    Hudson2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first AirBnB experience and it couldn't have been better. Jere is a great host, she made me feel very welcome and picked me up at the station, so I didn't have to find my way on my own. The room is spacious and very clean, also niceley furbished and I felt very much at home during my stay. In fact, to stay in this "private haven" made my visit to the US so much better. Jere was very helpful when I needed something and I could always reach her. If I ever come back to Portland I would certainly choose to sty here again.

    Urte2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jeres place is great! Really great amount of privacy for those needing space, without the need to book an entire home for yourself. The bathroom is EPIC too :)

    Bek2018-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jere's place was perfect for my business travels. Convenient check-in, peaceful, private, comfortable, clean, and spacious. I plan to be back.

Brand spanking new, beautiful, modern addition built on our ranch house.
Our 425 square foot addition is brand new (finished 2015) - immaculately designed, gorgeous and a perfect place to stay during your time in Portland. It has a pellet stove for delightful ambiance (and heating), it's own entrance, a blow-up air mattress (for a third guest) and a patio. Stay in a place completely Portland, powered by solar panels, built environmentally friendly, sitting on a major bike street and a couple blocks from the MAX light rail.
Our house is within 2 miles of the fantastic north and north east neighborhoods of Williams, Mississippi and Alberta. There are dozens of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and I leave a list of our local favorites in the house.
  • This place was so cute and in a great location! It was about an 8 minute drive from everywhere we wanted to go! The neighborhood felt very safe, and Joe left lots of great local suggestions. Great trip!

    Larissa2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • It was very easy to find and we had great communication with Joe and easy to get in..quiet neighborhood. Pellet stove was great to come into from the rainstorm. Comfortable couch and great coffee table books. We fell in love with the neighborhood restaurants. We wished the bed was more comfortable...the bed only fits one person in our opinion.

    Cassandra2016-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Joseph was a great host. He provided detail instructions on how to enter the addition that made our arrival as smooth as possible. The addition is perfect. It is private and makes you feel as though you are staying in your own space rather than in someone's home. The neighborhood was quiet and family-friendly.

    Alexandra2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were only in for one night but had a very nice stay in the addition. Everything is brand new and beautiful. We took the Max in to downtown which only took about ten minutes and walked to breakfast in the morning. The pellet stove was a big plus on a chilly evening.

    Michael2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved The Addition! Perfect for our one other stay with our two year old in Portland. It was clean, bright and inviting. Easy check in and check out. Located in a great neighbourhood close to shops and restaurants. Will be back!

    Amina2016-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this neighborhood: rather quiet, picturesque, easy to walk to most anywhere and to mass transit stops. The host was wonderful, and the space exactly what we needed. Perfect for a couple exploring Portland for the first time.

    Jeanine2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome!

    Adam2018-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were only there for one night, but it was so lovely we wish we could have stayed longer! Clean, spacious, and private; super easy self check-in. We came to Portland for a Blazers game and got to The Addition from the Moda center in under 10 minutes. Highly recommended!

Featured in the NY Times! This gorgeous custom home is the biggest little house on the block with raw wood throughout, a chefs kitchen, and a bed you won't want to leave. In the heart of Alberta you're a short walk from food, drink, parks and art.
This home was expertly designed and built by our family and completed in 2013. The southern window wall attracts frequents admirers from the street, and bathes the home in a warm glow. We built our home with food in mind, and the kitchen is well stocked with a five burner gas range, tons of butcher block counter space and big island for all your portland inspired culinary adventures. You're just a short walk from farmers markets and New Seasons, our exceptional local grocery store. Throughout the home you'll find exposed Doug Fir, Walnut, Oak and Cherry and a Jotul wood stove to keep you warm at night. The sofa bed turns in to a comfortable queen sized bed for additional guests.
Alberta Arts offers a wonderful mix of quiet streets and family homes with easy walking access to exceptional restaurants, bars, theaters, grocery stores, and coffee shops. The home is on Going Street, which is one of portland's "bike boulevards" optimized for biking around the city without heavy interaction with car traffic.
  • We had a great time at the Alberta Arts Cottage. It's an incredible space with everything we needed to feel very much at home and taken care of and more, even a drawer full of recommendations and menus of top spots, a delicious assortment of tea & a radio with bluetooth so we could stream music. The space is just as beautiful in person, so full of light with great outdoor seating. We felt welcome from the first moment there thanks to James' attention to detail and great communication. The neighborhood is fantastic with lots to do in easy walking distance. We could've stayed forever -- we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Portland!

    Rachelle2015-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough good things about this space! James and Kyra have (literally) created the most welcoming, relaxing, gorgeous space. We truly didn't want to leave. They were quiet and gracious hosts - available for anything that came up, but gave us space to enjoy their cottage. The quality of the craftsmanship cannot be captured in photos, but the pictures posted to the listing do a great job. There is everything you need and more in this cottage - beyond the charm there are numerous amenities and the location can't be beat. This was my first time renting a space in my hometown and I can honestly say it gave me and my family an entirely new experience. I would recommend the Alberta Arts Cottage to anyone! Perfect for a couple, but could definitely accommodate a family, friends, or 2 couples. STAY HERE!!!

    Ariel2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautiful! Exactly as shown in the pictures! Plenty of space for 2 people. The kitchen was gorgeous, wished we had more time to take advantage of the wonderful cast iron skillet on the gas range! The house is just two blocks from tons of restaurants and a vibrant street. Super quiet at night so you will get a great sleep in the king-sized bed! There is no air conditioning but there is a super huge fan to keep the air moving. The loft area does get a little stuffy on a hot day, but that can be solved easily by opening up the windows and turning on the fan. The only thing was we found the bedding a little "hot" but that's probably because we are used to all cotton sheets. But that's the only negative thing we could really say! We loved this tiny house and could imagine a long term stay here. All and all we would definitely booked this place again :)

    Krista2015-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous and private space. Lovely bed. Great kitchen. Next time would love to stay a week.

    Irene2015-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best place to stay in Portland. The home is beautifully built, quiet and comfortable. The neighborhood is great. Surrounding restaurants, cafes, bars and shops make the location ideal for a kickback experience. We especially enjoyed eating breakfast each morning at The Big Egg down the street. It's a place that's hard to leave and will entice you to move to Portland.

    J. Mario2015-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • This space was absolutely beautiful. It was wonderfully cosy, and the location was within walking distance to great local restaurants. We had a fantastic time, and we really appreciate how easy James made check-in and check-out. We'll definitely be back!

    Nicole2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the coolest Airbnb's I have ever stayed in. Amazing expeirence, I would definitely recommend.

    James2017-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Once you get in there, You can probably understand why people gave 5 stars out of 5. The place is just perfect as much as you wish to have it. It's neat, clean and well touched with James and Kyra. Everything I love about this place, nothing to complain at all. I'll absolutely stay again if I am back to Portland.

    Kitty2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Located in a cute neighborhood and the unit is also cute and homey. Everywhere we wanted to go was located within 15 minutes driving distance. There are restaurants near by but it is still a ways away walking.

    Madonna2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great, secluded place with very nice hosts. Nicely located on the east side, within 10 minutes drive to most anything. Place was top-notch in terms of decor and ambiance. Bed was a little firm for my wife. Otherwise, couldn't be better.

    Hubert2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was wonderful. The location is perfect. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our entire stay in Portland

    Justen2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • OVER ALL FABULOUS EXPERIENCE! Studio apartment was nicely tucked away, private & very quiet in the rear yard with everything we needed & not too much else for an over all nice, airy & clean feeling. Bed was quite compfy with new linens & towels, etc.; all finishes & fixtures are brand new. Location is as advertised, outstanding convenience - we walked everywhere, getting very lucky with the Winter weather (probably logging over 15 miles during our 3 day stay!). We hope to come back to Portland for another stay soon & will definitely try to stay at Ed & Sari's place again!

    Nick2016-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to stay in Portland! Very clean and private with all the amenities you might need. Ed and Sari were wonderful hosts and thought of everything. Very close to many great restaurants on Hawthorne/Division, just a 10 min walk or so. Short 12-15 bike commute to OHSU across the Tillikum crossing. We had no issues, would highly recommend Ed and Sari, and would definitely stay here again!

Spacious bedroom with clawfoot tub/shower bathroom in a beautiful 1927 craftsman home. Located a quick 5 miles north of downtown, we are 10 minutes miles to the Yellow Max & across the street from #75 bus both of which have you downtown in about 30-35 minutes. Parking is very easy to find on the streets that surround the house. We are LGBTQ and 420 friendly (outside only). A friendly, quiet dog lives here.
Our home runs on 100% renewable energy but we even provide a portable A/C when high temps exceed 80 degrees. Guests have told us the queen bed is extremely comfortable and the blackout blinds make it feel like you could sleep all day. Seasonally adjusted duvets keep you comfortable year-round. Extra seating gives you space to enjoy the TV equipped with Netflix, Hulu Plus and Amazon Prime or maybe even read a book! This bedroom is on the main floor of our home and has a bathroom with clawfoot tub and shower with hair dryer, basic amenities and room for your gear. You may have light use of our kitchen (easy breakfasts and warming leftovers - no frying or baking).
Our neighborhood is diverse and friendly with quaint vintage shops, quirky bars and excellent restaurants. It is conveniently located near I-5 and public transport. We have a 87 point walkscore and are considered a biking paradise! Just 5 miles north of Downtown and nestled in the historic Kenton community close to shops and dining, we are within easy walking distance to public transit (Yellow Max line and several buses) and a 10-30 minute car ride downtown with great N/S-bound freeway access (depending upon traffic). We are 25-35 minutes away from downtown by bus or Yellow Max train line. Both are within six blocks of the house with a bus stop less than a block away.
  • Very nice accommodations with great extra touches and good value. A nice, relaxing place convenient to exploring Portland and the area. Everything was wonderful!

    Rebekah2018-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was a truly wonderful experience! Maylene and Charity have a beautiful, welcoming home. The bedroom is clean and comfortable and the same can be said for the bathroom! And the shower, is to die for! We loved our stay and if we weren't moving to Portland we'd be staying with Maylene and Charity for every visit.

    Lynsey2014-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a nice time staying here! Very comfortable bed, lots of space, air conditioned, and a 5 minute walk to the Light Rail with easy access to downtown/Pearl districts. Would definitely stay again, and we will recommend to our friends who are coming to Portland! A gem in the neighbourhood - The Foggy Notion, 20 minute walk down Lombard, check it our if you stay here! Thanks again to Charity and Maylene - wish we could have seen more of them.

    Marlee2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • They're accommodating in every way, and I felt very comfortable while in the house. Whenever I called them to double-check info, they answered immediately and helped me without delay. It was super clean and calm throughout our entire stay, and the bathroom had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend them!

    Stephanie2018-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our brief stay at Maylene and Charity's home. Though we only met Charity once for a few minutes, we felt at home immediately upon entering the house. Our cozy, very clean room and bathroom (which we shared with another friendly guest) was equipped with everything we could ever want or need for a night's stay--including linens, towels, Netflix, toiletries, and even ear plugs! The whole house is extremely user-friendly, with labels in the kitchen so you don't look silly opening every cupboard door and drawer! These two are professional hosts and we would definitely stay again next time we are in Portland. We loved the location, too--quiet, not far from the MAX, and RIGHT across the street from a bus line. Everything was fairly easy to get to. Thanks Maylene and Charity for a great night's stay!

    Laura2015-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is close to good restaurants, and is in a very nice neighborhood.

  • We had a wonderful time staying in Maylene and Charity's home! It's a beautiful, 1927 house in wonderful condition. Our room was excellent, the bed was great, and there was plenty of natural lighting. It's a cozy neighborhood, with fun café and shops just a short walk away. It was the perfect location for us to go to and from the Portland Expo each day. We plan to book again for next year!

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • Had the best stay in the mud hut! My first airbnb experience and it will be hard to follow up. Ivy is such a hospitable woman, lending my boyfriend and I a wine opener and tending to our fire making incapabilities. Her hut is small and quaint with candle lighting and a comfortable futon dressed with plenty of blankets for the nighttime. She provided towels and shower ammentities along with the most positive energy and conversation. You should definitely stay in her hut if you have the chance! It will make for such an authentic portland experience.

    Erica2014-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience, lovely mud hut ambience in the evenings. We enjoyed the outdoor structure set up as living room (there are blankets for chilly days/evenings), and having a campfire in the evenings. We loved having the chickens cluck around and see the view to the bridge. Check out the Cathedral Park below in the St. John's bridge, it is within 10 min walking distance or shorter drive. +++ Mud Hut highly recommended if you are a nature lover, art lover, and not opposed to basic conditions (small bathroom, futon mattress, no immediate electricity in mud hut).

    Stephanie2013-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a place with warm and fun energy. I really enjoyed spending time with Ivy and her family. The mud hut was a cool experience.

    Kyle And Erica2014-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience with airbnb and it was incredible. I only stayed here for one night with my boyfriend on our way through Portland on a road trip. This is a very special spot for anyone who enjoys an eclectic and earthy vibe. Her cat Potato will go down in history as one of the sweetest kitties I've ever met. The hot tub and fire pit added to the lovely experience as well.

    Carolyn2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, unique and easy, Ivy was cool and accommodating. Highly recommend McMinnimans while you're in the area; easily within walking distance.

    Ehren2017-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truely a hidden gem! Set on beautiful property and great view of St. JOHNS Bridge. The surrounding neighborhood is very nice as well. Close to restaurants, bars, theaters, coffee, shops, etc. The mudhut is the most enchanting place I have ever stayed at.

    taylor2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy met us at the drive! Tea candles were lit in lieu of electricty. The whole lot is wonderous. You feel like you're in a magic garden! Our night's sleep was definitely improved with the silence of the mud hut. Not sure if it's just in my head, but now I totally want to build my own refuge free of electricity. We only had the chance to spend one night, but two would be better. The St. John's neighborhood is a nice change from the bustle of downtown Portland. We would stay here again, no hesitation.

  • Everything that Ivy did for the stay was well thought out and presented. The place was clean, cute and private. Wood was cut, outdoor kitchen was available and clean, mini lights everywhere at night for going in and out and it was our own little sanctuary. The hosts did not bother us unless we asked or if we ran into them out front. But this is not for the person who wants to be pampered and get out of bed in the morning and walk a few steps to the bathroom. The bathroom is in the house, about 50 feet on a straw walkway, down some steps and into a back room. It is clean and has a great shower. It is what it is - a mud hut with a bed and a wood burning stove. We loved it. The neighborhood is pretty good, except that it is in the industrial part of town - but that didn't bother us one bit. There are also some great restaurants for breakfast and dinner within walking distance. We would highly recommend the mud hut for anyone who is earthy, creativity and not in any need of modern amenities.

This 3rd floor loft is located in the N. Williams District, on a main bike route, across the street from a bus stop, close to the street car and light rail. It is an eclectic 900 sqft self contained unit with amazing views on the top floor of a 1900's Victorian. This stretch of Williams Ave has a more industrial feel but we are just a few blocks from eateries & libations. Walk to the Convention Center, Moda Center and the Pearl District.
-The view is amazing. -Efficiency style open kitchen with 2 stove top burners, toaster oven, french press, cookware, full dishware & glassware plus a real fridge with freezer. -comfy queen bed & nice Egyptian cotton sheets -new heating system with Air Conditioning! -2 wifi networks -a slew of information & maps on Portland & surrounding areas such as the Columbia Gorge, Oregon Coast, wine country etc. -Walk to the heart of the Williams District -Walk to the convention Center & Moda -Walk into the Pearl District (20min.)
Building on its reputation for bicycles, beers and brunch, the Williams District has evolved into a dynamic, must-see destination for locals and visitors alike. With its broad array of eateries, breweries, characters, shops and services, the district is a veritable composite of all the best Portland has to offer. The Williams District includes more than 150 businesses and is also defined by its rich cultural history. In the 1940s and ’50s, Williams Avenue was teeming with jazz clubs and speakeasies. Today located just down the street is the historic Billy Webb elks lodge. On a Friday or Saturday night it is not rare to sit on the deck and hear the DJ spinning.
  • Vey pleasant to deal with. Was very easy to communicate with and left info on the neighborhood that was very helpful.

  • A trip to Portland in January may not be the warmest time to go, but we still had a wonderful visit anyways. Tyra's loft was cozy and private, with a killer view, one that could not easily be matched. Not only did we have a great view from the third floor, it's also real close to the city. We didn't use public transit for this trip but it would have been a breeze from this location. We did rent a car for the week, which took us to the coast and seattle, as well as around the city. The only issue we ran into with parking was when there was a basketball game the streets filled up, not surprising for walking distance to the Moda Center from the loft. This was a minor issue as the games were done in two hours and parking was open again quickly. Tyra was kind and recommended a few places as well to help introduce us to the area. We can't wait to come back! Enjoy!

  • My stay in Portland was fantastic thanks to Tyra and this lovely apartment! Tyra was very responsive and the apartment was clean and had all of the amenities. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Portland.

  • A welcoming, communicative host. I loved the view from the patio. The bed was very comfortable. Parking was easy, especially considering it's a city! Check-in and check-out was easy because of the keypad--less of a hassle since there's no key to exchange. The biscotti and tea were a lovely bonus. We liked the neighborhood a lot. There is a great BBQ place 5 blocks away called The People's Pig that is NOT to be missed. Easy to get around. We pretty much walked everywhere.

  • Tyra provided accurate and easy directions for check in. The loft was a perfect place for us to take in Portland. The apartment was true to the photos/ description. We especially loved spending time on the private rooftop patio with fantastic views of the city. We would definitely stay again next time we visit Portland.

  • Tyra's loft was in a great location and a perfect place to end a day adventuring around the city. The loft is cozy and homey and just the right size for two people. The views of the city off the porch are wonderful. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be centrally located. The bed was so comfy here and the little alcove that it is in is so quirky. Lastly, a thanks to Tyra for her helpful suggestions of places to visit and see and her availability to help when needed.

    Rita2016-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place is fantastic! The check in was so simple, which usually is the biggest pain for me on Airbnb. The apartment has great views and decor. Stay here!

  • Tyra was very communicative and offered lots of suggestions of places to go in the neighborhood. I felt very taken care of. The loft was great, and exactly as described. Unique space with a unique view. We were so glad we brought our bikes; the location makes it easy to get up to Alberta or over to downtown in about 10 minutes.

Right in the heart of Portland's famous Sunnyside Neighborhood. This 3BR apartment is very walkable to many desirable locations. Only two short blocks from eclectic SE Hawthorne Boulevard.
Stay right in the middle of the famous "Restaurant Row" of Portland! My home is nestled away in a quiet historic neighborhood, yet still has a WalkScore® of 92. If you cannot walk to where you are going, chances are the nearby public transit will be able to quickly drop you off where you are headed. Become apart of the authentic Portland experience in a historical part of town, after all, isn't that what Airbnb is all about! While this neighborhood was constructed over a century ago, feel the luxury of staying in an home that has been recently renovated and furnished in 2015.
Central Southeast Portland is a foodies paradise! You are just a short walk to some of Portland's best restaurants, delicious bakeries, famous local coffee/tea shops, bars and night life, boutique shops, grocery stores etc. I made a guide to help identify some of my favorite places in the neighborhood.
  • Great space, easy access, & excellent communication. Bright & airy; would stay here again.

  • Amazing home, prompt responses from Hayden and conveniently located. What a great value for a spacious home that's located near many restaurants, bars and more!

  • The house is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. Easy to get in. Walking distance to the best sushi restaurant ever. Two very comfortable normal-sized bedrooms, plus one insanely giant master bedroom upstairs with an extra bed tucked away in a large closet with a curtain. The master bedroom has tons of large windows with no curtains, which is awesome if you want light, not so awesome if you don't want to be woken up by the dawn's early light. Also, lots of cute cozy balconies.

    Sam2017-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is open and modern, spacious and in a fabulous location to get around Portland. Restaurants and shops within walking distance and all things downtown within minutes in a car. We enjoyed several holiday events, including an impromptu visit down the famous Peacock Drive where every house was lit up and decorated. The parking space was especially appreciated. Word of warning though, it is Portland and there are stairs to the front door, more stairs to the main floor and then stairs to the master suite. If that's not an issue, then do not hesitate to book this space!

    Cheryl2017-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • This is a clean, modern, well-maintained apartment in a good area of town. It truly has three bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds – many rentals that advertise three bedrooms are actually two bedrooms and a pullout couch in the living room. The kitchen was modern and appeared well equipped, although we did not make use of it during our brief stay. Complementary toiletry items and fluffy towels were a nice touch. The bedroom decor was a bit sparse – the room my wife and I stayed in had a bed, lamp, end table, and drawer/shelf unit - no mirror, no chair, no writing desk, bare hardwood floors. Unfortunately, noise from renters in the unit below (also owned by the landlord) and noise from the bar across the street kept my wife, kids, and I up after midnight. In their information binder in the apartment, the landlord mentions quiet hours and encourages you to call them if there are noise issues, so they know that this is a problem. When I called, they contacted the guests below and things did get quieter, although it took another half hour for things to truly quiet down. Unfortunately, revelry at the outdoor tables at the bar across the street kept many of us up until approximately 1 AM.

  • Hayden's place was huge! Very cool unit just walking distance from many restaurants and bars. Got to see an awesome heavy metal show just a couple blocks away! The beds were super comfortable and allowed for very restful sleep! Would come back again! Thanks again Hayden!

  • The girls and I had a wonderful, fun-filled weekend in Portland! Hayden stayed in touch right up until before our stay and made me feel very comfortable in terms of his availability to be reached if we had any issues. His place is roomy (5 people slept comfortably) and in a very convenient location! You're in the vicinity of many cafes and restaurants that you do not want to miss during your stay in Portland!

    Ahra2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome stay at Hayden's house! The location is really great. And the space was absolutely perfect for me and my family. My son loved the bed in the loft- super cute! We walked down to restaurants and a park/playground. Had a great one night stay before we headed to the airport- which was also not too far. Thanks Hayden for all your help for our Portland visit!

Private room in this newly remodeled single level, 1500 sq ft home with stunning Mt. Hood / valley views! Stroll 10 minutes to super-hip Montavilla (look online: "10 hottest US neighborhoods right now"). Perched on Mt Tabor, just a few blocks from hiking in beautiful Mt. Tabor Park, we're just a few minutes from Hawthorne District, Division St, Belmont, Jade District, and hundreds of pubs and restaurants. And only 20 minutes from stunning Columbia Gorge, (the best hiking in the portland area).
This is one of the few Airbnb places on Mt. Tabor that really offers GREAT views. The space is the main floor of a Mid-Century Modern, set up to feature the view in all the living areas (the bedrooms have views of Mt. Tabor Park and forest). Take some time to relax with a bottle of wine on the peaceful deck which has INCREDIBLE views of the Willamette Valley, the Gorge, and Mt. Hood! It's an excellent location: A safe, quiet, neighborhood, just out of the fray of busy streets! Your private bedroom has a double sized bed with a SUPER COMFY 3 inch memory foam topper, (Guests have told me that this bed with it's memory foam pillows gave them the best sleep they've had in weeks!) And of course fresh bedding, pillows, extra blankets and even more pillows... 2 people would comfortably fit here, though arrangements can sometimes be made to accommodate more. There is a big antique dresser in your room. There is one shared full bathroom. The house is comfy warm in the winter, and has A/C for the summer. There is a cozy gas fireplace in the living-room. I pride myself on Value, so you'll be provided with... ~Free High-Speed Wireless Internet ~Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash), towels and washcloths, blow dryer, (to save space in your suitcase!) ~Two phone charging stations (on the nightstand on each side of the bed, right where you need them). ~Dresser, if you feel like taking time to unpack and relax ~Rack for your luggage (so you're not tripping over it or cluttering up the dresser top) ~Individual Fan and Heater in the room, so you can control your own temperature, or in case you need some white noise while you sleep :-) ~Work table in case you need to spread out your work, if you brought it :-( ~Cozy gas fireplace for ambiance while you sit and watch the world go by in the city below! ~Portland Picks and Information, dining and sightseeing guides, and my special LOCAL PICKS, arranged in an easy way to see the most exciting things that this area has to offer. ~My handmade MAPS (these things took HOURS to create) with Restaurants, Pubs, Breweries, Food Carts, Hiking, and Public Transportation marked! ~Plenty of (bookmarked) Portland Travel Books and pamphlets, local menus... ~Large Screen TV monitor with Netflix and Apple TV, and free Wifi. ~Your personal 24 hour check in/out ACCESS CODE so you can come and go WHENEVER you please, without worrying about me needing to be there to let you in, or having a key to keep track of! ~Pet-free environment, in case you have allergies or a dislike of being covered in pet hair. ~Free parking, right outside the house ~Free Coffee, lots of tea, and breakfasty snacks (so you save some money on breakfasts, although there are some pretty darned great breakfast places nearby that you may not want to miss). We're located in a VERY QUIET neighborhood just steps from Mt. Tabor park (Portland's most wonderful urban park, and one of only four volcanoes within a US city's limits), 5-10 minutes walk to Restaurants, Food Carts, various Pubs and a Brewery, Vintage Shopping, Farmer's Market , and take Public Transit downtown from just 6 blocks away. We are close enough to the airport to make this a super convenient sleepover to get an early jump on tomorrow's early departure, or for business travelers. Or, if you are heading East to Mt. Hood, or the Columbia Gorge, this is the perfect jumping off point, just 25 minutes from the Gorge. Also, we're just over a mile from the 205 bike path, and from there a couple miles to the Springwater Corridor, the well-known 21 mile long car-free bike path that connects with countless other parks and bike paths. Although Check-in and Check-out times are listed, they are just guidelines, and I can usually accommodate other times if reasonable, and worked out in advance. In addition to routine cleaning, we wash EVERY piece of bed linen between EVERY guest stay because that's what we would want if we were guests. We used to charge a cleaning fee, but we don't want to penalize clean guests because of a few that left the space dirty, so we eliminated the fee. So if you don't mind, we'd appreciate it if you would take your shoes off at the door. We hope that by making it cheaper for you, you might make it easier for us. Morning coffee or tea, and snack bars, are included! Please Note: in compliance with Portland regulations, there is a maximum of 5 short term guests at any time, staying in 2 bedrooms, in the entire house.
When visiting Portland, where you stay is critical. You may not to be on a super busy street, but you still want to have easy access to everything. We have that here. The neighborhood is Mt. Tabor, you can look it up online and see why it's such a great place to be. We are literally surrounded with great food and pubs. Two James Beard Nominated restaurants are within walking distance! Walk 5 minutes to the Coquine Cafe, or 10 minutes to the Montavilla pub area with restaurants, pubs, dive bars, a cocktail lounge, a brewery, coffee and tea houses, the best Pizza in town, vintage stores, and a theater where you can have Pizza and Beer while you watch a current movie for $4!! Walk 5 minutes to SE 82nd Ave (the Jade District), which has some of the most authentic Asian food in the city. Walk to the other side of the park and you end up on Division St.(one of the 10 hottest food streets in the country), or Hawthorne Blvd (TONS of different ethnic and pricing options). Portland is not called "Beervana" for nothing, it has more brewpubs per capita than any other city in the United States, and believe me, some of them are astounding! I am a homebrewer myself, and have spent a lot of time testing out the local scene, and love to give ideas of good beers or bars to seek out, or places to eat. Portland is also famous for its food carts, and there are nearly a hundred food carts within walking distance of the house. And we're just minutes away from the bus that will take you right downtown. This house is at the foot of Mt. Tabor Park, a wonderful park situated on an extinct volcano (it's the only volcano within the city limits of a major US City), filled with beautiful walking and biking trails, 3 picturesque reservoirs (which are listed on the National Historic Register), an amphitheater within the cinder cone of the volcano, tennis and basketball courts, views of Mt. Hood, Mt. Saint Helens, and downtown Portland. The park is also a local bird watching hot-spot, being visited by 143 species of birds! The hill has 300 feet of elevation gain for a good workout, if you head for "the steps", or you can meander your way around on countless trails. This home, although fairly modest, is nestled up with the million dollar houses in the higher part of the hill, so it is fun to stroll around and look at the amazing modern architecture, and the beautiful traditional craftsman style homes surrounding us.
  • Scott was a very welcoming host. We enjoyed being guests at his home. The furnishings are lovely, the views spectacular and the location by Mt. Tabor fit our needs. The beds were comfortable, (we sampled both rooms) especially the futon with the memory pad. Scott had plenty of useful information to share. The views from his living room window are indeed beautiful and there are ample choices of places to curl up with a book. The house was very clean. Being a person that misplaces keys I liked the door lock system.

  • Comfortable stay, very easily accessible and fantastic location.

    Lusha2015-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Scot was very welcoming and organized. He made sure to send me a prompt informational overview on his property immediately on applying to stay with him. The property is located right near Mt. Tabor park, which is a huge bonus -- you can hike/run the park from the house easily. Scot's apartments are exactly as shown in the AirBNB photos -- everything is clean and neat, and he makes it really easy to enter/exit the house on your schedule. I really enjoyed staying with him -- he's great to talk to, and he takes an very active interest in making sure that everything stays clean and organized. Great experience with him.

  • Great place!

  • Scot was really helpful in providing suggestions on places to visit and eat at. He was friendly and willing to help in any way he could. He had printouts of interesting things to see in Portland and has thoughtful signage around the house to make sure guests feel at home.

    Evelyn2016-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious house with comfortable rooms and amazing views. Everything was clean and we appreciated the little signs posted everywhere letting us know where everything was along with the restaurant recommendations and informational brochures. The neighborhood is beautiful and conveniently located 10-15 minutes away from downtown. Use GPS or a maps app to get where you're going, however, because the shortest distance is via some winding residential streets. Scott and his college-aged daughter were accommodating and very gracious hosts. We felt we had the house to ourselves. Highly recommended!

    Eugenie2015-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a great experience staying at Scot's. It was very clean and spacious. Our favorite part was waking up before 7 AM to see the sunrise over Mount Hood, I would definitely recommend it! It was cloudy during our stay so we only saw mt hood in the morning when it was clear. Mount Tabor is also very nice place to run and walk with such wonderful tall trees. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks for sharing your home Scot!

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • The Portland Tiny House was great! Duston and Genevieve made the stay easy and welcoming. The Tiny House feels brand new and they have done an amazing job with the place. We can't wait to stay there again!

  • The "Tiny House" is simply amazing. We fell in love with the house. The house is sweet, cosy and comfy and has the best bed - great little afternoon naps were had. The neighbourhood is absolutely perfect - you are close to cool shops, bars, food and coffee but the house is in a lovely quiet leafy area which makes for a very peaceful stay. From here we done all the cool neighbourhoods and went a great drive to the Columbia River Gorge and saw beautiful waterfalls. We would go back to Portland in a heartbeat and would definitely love to stay at the "Tiny House" again. The hosts were very welcoming but left us to ourselves, was great to know they were happy for us to call on them if we needed them though. Lovely family & cool dog :) We ate great food in the neighbourhood - recommend: ice cream @ Salt & Straw and noodles @ Boxer Ramen. Thank you for sharing your cute little house with us Genevieve & Duston.

  • We loved our stay at the tiny house! We came to Portland for our honeymoon, and couldn't have been happier with our two nights spent at Duston and Genevieve's home. It was absolutely beautiful, and in a wonderful neighborhood. We loved the backyard, and the chickens; and the recommendations for local restaurants and bars were spot on. They were the most wonderful hosts, and even left us a bottle of wine and thoughtful card since they knew we were on our honeymoon. We would love to stay here again when we return to Portland in the future.

  • We loved our stay in the tiny house! It was even nicer than the photos. An allergic person's dream accommodations. All the products where fragrance free and/or ultra natural. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Very easy area to get to with transit and loads of great stuff close by. We love forward to returning.

    Tara2015-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny House was a pure treat! It had everything we needed, and pleasantly only what we needed. It was easy to find and get to. Very clean! Beautifully acquainted and thoughtfully set up. The bed was cozy, the book and magazine collection was helpful in guiding our spontaneous adventures, and the fresh eggs were a delight! We would love to come back to this friendly city and stay in the Tiny House again!

    Starr2017-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the tiny house. To date, this was the cleanest airbnb we have stayed in and it was so appreciated!! Duston and Genevieve were extremely responsive when we had questions or needed something fixed. Fyi for any future guest who is light sensitive while they sleep, bring a sleep mask, the tiny house gets relatively dark when the blinds are closed, but ambient light does go through them. Other than that, everything else was excellent and we are looking forward to staying here again next time we are in Portland. Thanks Dustin, Genevieve, Tiny House & Chickens!

    Taylor2017-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend in the perfectly cozy tiny home! We will most definitely be back. Thank you so much Duston and Genevieve!

  • Duston and Genevieve's tiny house was perfect for what we were looking for. It was clean, cosy, comfortable and close to all the beauty Portland has to offer. We couldn't recommend it enough to future travellers! Thank you for hosting us, we hope to return again one day. :)

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate the needs of your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was a crooked shed with broken windows, no electricity, water or heat and was filled with trash. Todji improved it and then purchased the property in 2004 when banks were giving loans to anybody, including self-employed emerging artists. Todji rented rooms to other artists while restoring the old house for fifteen years, while building a career as a fine art sculptor. During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. Look at the outside walls to see the twist in the structure! TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from areas around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day. We employ local artists to do the cleaning and maintenance work at The Magic Barn and Magic House. Thank you for taking the time to read our story!
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) • The magic barn is the perfect weekend getaway in the heart of the Hawthorne district in Portland. We had the best time and enjoyed great hospitality. I would highly recommend this place as it is even more beautiful than on the pictures. We’ll definitely be back. Becci & Daniel

  • We adored this space and loved all the detailed touches to the space. The sculptures in the garden were amazing, and we were close to so many fun places on Hawthrone and Division. We loved it and would stay here again.

  • The Magic Barn was a unique experience! We stayed in the barn for one night during our road trip up the coast. We thoroughly enjoyed Todji and Gisele's craftsmanship both in the barn and the yard. Todji was very helpful in setting up the barn for the 3 of us in my family. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • The barn is very beautiful, and particularly cosy on a rainy day, with rain drumming on the roof and skylights. This was a wonderful place to stay for a few quiet days of crafting, exploring Portland, and eating delicious food. Highly recommended!

“I have stayed at many Airbnb’s in the past few years, and I can confidently say that this one was the best by far. Amazing hospitality, THE COMFIEST BED, beautiful, clean accommodations, and a convenient base to explore Portland. Hawthorne is a lovely neighborhood and Tom and his family were nothing but wonderful to us. The hot tub was a lovely bonus after long days of hiking and exploring. We’ll be back for sure!” - Raleigh, guest May 2018
Ours is a welcoming and fully permitted family home in Portland's close-to-everything Hawthorne District. Guests enjoy their own floor of the home. To ensure both your comfort and productivity we provide a luxurious locally crafted, eco-friendly king-sized memory foam hypoallergenic bed, LED reading lights, wifi, desk, printer, bathroom and private entrance in an ideal (quiet yet convenient) location. Across the street from Sewallcrest Park and Community Garden, you're just a short stroll to the great commercial streets of Hawthorne, Division, Belmont and 2 minutes from transit to take you anywhere. Super convenience makes your stay a breeze and a blast. The listing is one of two in our home. The two groups in each listing share the bathroom. You'll never have to wait to use the bathroom: you are always welcome to use the bathroom upstairs off the kitchen.
Our neighborhood location is ideal. So much is so close. Whether you're on the hunt for the best beer in world famous "Beervana," a uniquely fantastic meal in "foodie" Portland, or looking for a quiet, secure place to rest, our neighborhood provides it all.
  • Tom is a wonderful host in a great neighborhood. I was in Portland for work during a busy holiday and his house and hospitality were a welcomed relief, especially the use of the hot tub after a long day of work. His communication was thorough and exceeded my expectations, I highly recommend staying here no matter what your purpose of travel.

  • Nice big beds, great for two couples (each rent a guest room) or a bunch of friends. Walking distance to a lot of great vintage shops, food and other cool places to check out.

  • We are new to Air bnb and absolutely loved Tom's house and family. It's a clean, modern space in a great neighborhood near some great restaurants. Even with such a short stay, we can tell they're such a friendly family! Wish we could have spent more time here!

  • This is in the heart of the old traditional Portland. The wonderous Hawthorne/Belmont business districts. Walking distance to great food and the shopping too! Just a short public transit ride to downtown or any other transfer stations to go anywhere. A true gem... Enjoy!

Dave's apartment was so convenient and comfortable. It's only a 10-20 minute walk from a lot of things you would want to do for a vacation in portland. There's also the a train station one block away. Delicious restaurants and coffee places are within 2-4 blocks from the apartment, so you don't have to go too far for a good breakfast. The studio itself is very modern with a hint of the house's historical architecture. There was a lot of space and felt very open and sunny. I definitely enjoyed staying here! Dave was always available for questions.

We had a great stay. The apartment was cozy and perfectly convenient. We had a great time exploring the City by walking, biking and driving from this centrally located spot. The apartment was a great spot to rest and recharge. The kitchen was nicely stocked with basics and even a few treats! Nice shower, comfy bed. Everything we needed. Being able to use the laundry was a nice bonus. The weather cooperated while we were there, so open windows kept the temperature comfortable.

I had a sweet and lovely downstairs bedroom next to the shared bathroom. It was modern and nice and I enjoyed talking with Alleyn. The living room was a nice place to spend some time watching TV and relaxing. Overall, it was perfect for my trip.
