Just booked in Michigan

Just booked in Michigan
Walk to Belle Isle, 6 min drive to downtown! A spacious 1BR corner loft overlooking the river and two parks. Lots of light and beautiful view. Convenient location off Jefferson Ave and Detroit's Riverwalk. Gated parking for one car. First time visitors to Detroit and city regulars will enjoy using my loft as a base of operations. I've been a contributing author to Wildsam Field Guides, an eclectic guidebook publisher, and have great recommendations for most cravings in this unique city.
I have a few spaces in Detroit. If this loft is unavailable, check one of my other cool spots: https://www.airbnb.com/users/6405993/listings This loft is beautiful, open, and full of light. A perfect retreat in Detroit. I grew up in Montana, lived in India for a few years, and ran a journalism startup in Detroit called Jaunt, so I have decorated my place with remnants of my travels. I also contributed to a Detroit guidebook called WildSam Field Guides, so I can help you put together a good itinerary or fill any holes you might have. I mostly live on my sailboat during the summer and I teach Marine Science on a sailing school vessel. The loft is all open except for the bathroom. The bedroom is separated by a wall without a ceiling. The kitchen has all the basic essentials and utensils plus coffee, tea, cereal, oatmeal, etc. for breakfast. I have an HDTV with Blu-Ray, Roku, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and an HD OTR antennae for NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Then there's the bed. Queen and super comfortable - I splurged on the bed because good sleep is really important to me. For extra guests, there is a queen pull-out sofa in the common area. The apartment can accommodate up to four (two in each queen bed) but you're starting to get a little cramped. I will decline requests for greater than four people unless you have a special circumstance. There are two A/C units: one window-mounted right next to the bed and the other in the living room space. They do a good job on the loft 90% of the time, but if the sun is glaring and it is scorching hot, they won't be able to create the refrigerated A/C frigidity we are used to with central air. The bedroom unit works perfectly if you shut the door to the common area. In the winter, you can turn the heat up as much as you like and make it toasty warm.
I moved here in October, 2014 from the nearby West Village area where there are a few great new restaurants, like Craft Work, Detroit Vegan Soul, and Red Hook Coffee. The loft is on the Riverwalk, which is a bike/walk trail connecting you to downtown and Eastern Market via the Dequindre Cut, a converted rail line that runs off of the Riverwalk. I am also walking distance to the Belle Isle bridge. The building is kitty corner to a Coast Guard base, a U.S. Federal building, and the offices of a private security firm. The streets are lit and other residents of the building are frequently coming and going. I have always felt that the area around where I live is quite safe.
  • Thane was a knowledgeable and welcoming host with a really great place! Would definitely stay again while in Detroit.

    Dominic2015-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great (Email hidden by Airbnb) fortable space that was well accommodated and stocked with everything you would need plus some fresh food and drink extras! Thane was around to greet our arrival and give city tips. Very easy access to park and the River Walk and not far from Downtown convenience. Kind of place you'd want to live and would stay again if in Detroit!

    William2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous loft! I was slightly apprehensive when i pulled into the listing as the exterior looked a little run down but all concerns were allayed inside. The listing description was exactly as it's depicted - open, spacious and gorgeous. Key pick up and loft overview went extremely smoothly. Thane has an AMAZING list of stuff to see / eat / do in Detroit that i recommend asking for - definitely referred to it several times. All amenities were set up - the wifi would freeze once in awhile but nothing major. It is a true warehouse loft - so be prepared to hear the neighbors, but not in a disruptive fashion by any stretch! Beautiful place, wonderful host, definitely recommend.

    Jessi2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Communication with Thane was easy and timely. His loft is in a beautiful building in a great location, and we enjoyed exploring Detroit from this comfortable home base.

    Kirsten2015-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely space with lots of character and natural light. It has a great location next to the Riverwalk, particularly handy if you like to jog or walk. The unit is on the 3d floor and no elevator, so keep in mind if you have heavy luggage. There is no sound insulation in the building, so we could hear people walking above us, the televison next door, and kids partying in the park across the street on Saturday night. Only a problem if you are a light sleeper. Karen was a lovely host, and provided great suggestions on places to eat and explore.

    Minouche2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thane was super sweet and was helping a lot )due to the blizzard we arrived in the middle of the night and were able to access the apartment anyway. his loft was super nice, WARM (it was crazy-cold outside) and very clean. I stole some cornflakes from him and he didn`t complain (thank you for that :-))

    Fabia2015-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect location, great space and awesome host!

    Christy2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The location and accommodations we found in thanes loft were amazing, checking in and out were more convenient than ever I could have hoped for, both thane and Karen were extremely gracious and we loved our time in Detroit...

A beautiful, open, airy loft space housed within a completely renovated 1926 industrial building. Centrally located on Woodward Avenue, steps away from the Amsterdam stop of the newly-installed QLINE in New Center. Hop on, and be anywhere you'd like in New Center, Midtown, or Downtown in minutes. Relax, you're home.
This is a modern loft apartment housed within a completely renovated 1926 building that originally housed graphic artists for General Motors, and other companies. Designed by famed-Detroit architect Albert Kahn, you'll notice the signature art-deco front-facade and incredible lobby of the building. All the character of the loft is still intact, from the concrete floors, brick exterior wall, and the mushroom columns Albert Kahn was known for. Home includes a large kitchen, front load washer and dryer, incredibly fast internet with wifi and one bedroom with a queen-sized bed. This building is incredibly peaceful, quiet, and relaxing; while being just blocks away from anything you'd want to do in the city. Kitchen includes gas stove/oven, stainless steel sink, refrigerator, toaster, pots, pans, coffee maker, and any other utensils you need to call Detroit home for a few days. You'll find a single bedroom (this was originally a studio unit, but has been converted into a completely-walled one bedroom unit). Beautifully comfortable queen bed, small dresser, and chair. The main bathroom includes a subway tile shower/tub, sink, and any towels and amenities you'll need to make your stay perfect. Awesomely comfy white cotton sheets are included in the bedroom. The living room includes a couch (can be used for extra sleeping space, but isn't a pull-out), coffee table, and two chairs. 50" HDTV is hooked up to an Apple TV with Netflix. Outdoor space includes a small patio (which you'll enter from) with two bistro chairs and table. Enjoy the sunny back-alley of the building with a drink of your choice from the fridge. Local spots within walking/biking distance include the incredibly beautiful art-deco Fisher and Albert Kahn buildings; Midtown Shopping (Shinola, Willys, Nora, Hugh, Carhartt, Fellow Barber, City Bird, Nest, and more); the mid-century gardens and campus at Wayne State, and more. Local attractions include the city and public art, Belle Isle with its beaches, waterpark, Albert Kahn designed conservatory and aquarium, and trails. The world is your oyster. Restaurants nearby including fast food, Northern Lights Lounge, Falafill, Dangerously Delicious Pies, City Wings, Motor City Brewing Works, Jolly Pumpkin, and more. The loft is all yours while you're here. Enjoy, relax, and hang out. I prefer text and AirBnB message for communication. Taking photos during your stay? Make sure you #thatdetroitloft.
Awesome location right on Woodward at the Midtown/New Center border. Just a few blocks either way to a ridiculous amount of inspiration, character, activities, and restaurants. Take in the Detroit Institute of Arts, or check out the art-deco skyscrapers of New Center.
  • Such an awesome apartment. Spacious & clean. Very cool. In a great location. Jesse was very helpful & answered all questions. Would definitely stay again.

    Sara2016-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jesses apartment was very nice. Accurately described in the photos. The neighborhood is very safe. Check in was easy and apartment was spotless. I would definitely stay again!

    Allena2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was my third stay at Jesse's loft and enjoyed it as much as the other times. Great place, great host!

    Gary2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second visit to Jesse's apartment. Jesse is very responsive on the front side with questions and is easy to communicate with. He is very accommodating. The space is comfortable and easy to relax in, close to all midtown has to offer. The natural light through the windows is awesome. Accessing the apartment via lockbox makes check in and check out seamless.

    Terah2016-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse is the perfect air bnb host. His place is extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. I will be re-booking in the near future. It was overall an amazing experience.

    Christian2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely recommend staying in Jesse's space whenever you're visiting Detroit. The loft is a dream-- that light! A+++ visual appeal. Nice, comfy bed, all the essential amenities, easy parking, central location, and very responsive host! Jesse responded to every message promptly and offered us brunch suggestions when we couldn't decide (Rose's Fine Foods-- yes, go there! So delicious!!) This will be my go-to rental for all future visits to the Detroit area.

    Beth2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jesse was a terrific host! His loft was so gorgeous, very clean, and a great location. Jesse provided some suggestions on things to do for those not familiar with Detroit and was very accommodating and prompt when sending emails. THANKS JESSE for sharing your space with us!!!

    Brooke2016-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience is completely in tune with that of previous reviewers. Communication with Jesse was smooth, directions clear, and the loft just like the pictures promised. Location is excellent, walking distance from many attractions such as the Detroit Historical Museum, the Museum of Afro-American History, the Detroit Institute of Art and the Motown Museum. We had a great stay in Detroit, and staying here greatly contributed to this.

Welcome to Woodbridge Farm! ...a friendly, spacious & quiet neighborhood, close to all of the happenings in/around Detroit. Enjoy the newly renovated 2nd floor of our 1884 Historic house. The apt is cozy w/ yummy architectural/design details.
WOODBRIDGE FARM: We love it here! ...very special and unique. The street is filled with Urban Pioneers and creative types; artists, musicians, gardeners, and makers. You will find that most homes sit on larger pieces of land, giving Woodbridge Farms a unique feel. Many of the houses in the area have undergone impressive renovations, and for the others the renovation is underway. We have completed the interior renovations of this home, and soon we will start renovation on the house next door, which we also own. From the outside they look a little rough, but keep coming back and you will be able to witness the transformation! US & OUR RENOVATION PROJECTS: We are longtime Detroiter’s. We are committed to the City, and we are so happy to have been a part of the revitalization of Detroit. We love old homes …and we love to renovate them! Zac is a general contractor, and Renee is an Interior Designer. Together, we have been restoring old homes in Woodbridge for the last 15 years. LOCATION: You are a short walk/drive from Detroit’s midtown area, where you will find a variety of restaurants and shopping. Both Corktown and Downtown are within a few miles. It is a very quiet neighborhood, conveniently located to all major freeways. Lots of parking. THE LISTING: Newly renovated, with the best of care. Open plan kitchen, dining, and living. King size bed with fine linens and nice pillows. The bedroom windows are opposite the sun rise. It is a very peaceful space, bright, open and fresh. We are sure you will love the apartment. It is clean and private. We have an office on the first floor that is completely separate from the space. Zac is typically there M-F 9-5 should you need to fax ,copy or have any questions. If you have any special requests we will do our best to accommodate you, if given a bit of notice. We live 2 blocks away from the apartment should anything urgent come up.
  • Zac & Renee have a very beautiful apartment, in a nice quiet neighborhood walking distance from some great parts of town. I loved staying there and hope to again soon.

    Ezra2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, the place is absolutely stunning! Don't let the slightly rough neighborhood and exterior fool you; this place is gorgeous and so well thought-out inside. We spent the first half-hour just walking around saying "wow!" They were super responsive and helpful, even though we were too busy on this trip to stop by and meet them. We will definitely try to stay again next time we go to the D!!!!!

    Jennifer2016-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • My teenage son and I stayed at Zac and Renee's place. It is exactly as described and reviewed. It is airy, large and welcoming. As city dwellers we were not at all put off by the neighborhood which is clearly in transition. There are a number of beautiful homes amidst homes which are in various states of disrepair. It was interesting to see what's going on there and get a sense of what's happening in Detroit these days. We had great meals downtown, went to a couple Tigers games, rented bikes along the waterfront, explored 8 Mile, Groose Point and the Ford Museum. A wonderful few days in Detroit that has us wanting more. Thanks Zac and Renee!

    Lauri2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay - spacious, clean, unique, and comfortable. The house is conveniently located - we walked over to Motor City Brewing for dinner and in the morning drove down to the riverfront, rented bikes, and rode through the Dequindre Cut. This was the first night of our Michigan honeymoon road trip, and Zac & Renee had a little gift for us upon arrival to say congrats - very thoughtful!

    Nicole2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was in an incredible area and was beautiful on its own. Zach and Renee were there to welcome us when we got there and gave us the rundown of area. There are lots of great things to do in the area: food, some shopping, and the beautiful architecture. The apartment itself was spectacular and was even better in person than the photos. Spacious and bright and tasteful! We will def be back !

    Corey/Jessica2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house is spacious yet cozy, and very well furnished with great interior design! It's in a great location that's super close to everywhere we needed to be. Zac and Renee were great hosts and checked in to make sure everything was to our liking. And taco cat is adorable and friendly. Can't wait to come back next time we're in town! :)

    Izabella2016-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • All I can say is WOW! This place is amazing! It’s so spacious, filled with a ton of natural light. You’re going to be amazed at how high the ceilings are! Close to the casinos and 5min from downtown and many local organic restaurants! We met taco! He was super loving! He really is a cool cat! There are so many wonderful things we can say about this place, here are a few. Space, decor, location, warmth, lighting are perfect, THE hosts were super friendly, and accommodating! The area has a new community of new construction homes, along with other historic homes in the neighborhood being restored. This place is a true gem! We didn’t want to leave and will book again when we return in December.

    Brenda2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Zac and Renee are great hosts! Their communication was spot on and their space is lovely. I was comfortable, a short drive to shops, restaurants and my conference location. It was everything I needed for a work trip to Detroit.

Upstairs from Slows BBQ and on the same block as Astro, Sugar House and Gold Cash Gold, this two-bedroom neighborhood inn provides an immersive, welcoming travel experience in the heart Corktown, Detroit's oldest neighborhood.
A small-scale, design-focused Detroit inn, Honor & Folly is reminiscent of the way folks used to travel: a few beds above the village pub or restaurant. You'll be immersed in this historical neighborhood that's also at the forefront of the city's current revitalization. Featured in Martha Stewart Living, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit (made the 40 "Best Food Lovers Hotels in America" Awards), The Globe and Mail, Details Magazine, Conde Nast Traveller UK, and Afar. With a prime Corktown location, you'll be situated smack into the middle of one of the most thriving, charming and walk-able neighborhoods in the city—right across from the city’s most beautiful icon of urban decay: the old train station. Admire it up-close or enjoy the beautiful view through the big living room windows—you can even see the Ambassador Bridge! Sharing a block with Slows, Astro, Gold Cash Gold and Sugar House, Honor & Folly also offers plenty of other nearby bars, shops and restaurants within a quick stroll (I provide guests with a list of my favorite recommendations), as well as easy access to downtown. The well-appointed space is decorated with goods made by Detroit and Midwest-based designers and artisans—much of which is also for sale. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom, for a capacity of four people, with additional possible sleeping arrangements for kids. From time to time, Honor & Folly is used as a community space, hosting workshops or events, but you will have the space entirely to yourself during your stay. OTHER AMENITIES: outdoor balcony | local design | fully stocked cooking kitchen | potential to arrange custom catering, private dinner parties, etc.
  • Everything went super smoothly. Great place. Great Location. Very comfortable. Thanks Meghan.

    Aaron2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment is amazing! The place was super comfy, clean, and well equipped. It was also located near a a couple of great restaurants, a bar, coffee shop, and downtown Detroit. Meghan was more than accommodating, even though we were a little early. We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in Detroit!

    Joshua2012-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at "Design-Focused Corktown Inn" was a delight! The location was perfect for all the moving around of the city that we did during our stay. The loft itself is beautiful, comfortable and well-appointed. The neighborhood - with the restaurants, coffee shop and bars nearby - was great.

    Susan2014-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very arty. Good.

    Wenqian2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Meghan's attention to beautiful design detail is evident throughout the entire place. It appeals to extravagance and restraint all at the same time. At first entry, it's all about taking it in and diving into all of the details. After that, you simply feel at home walking in through the door.

    Tayler2017-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking an impossibly hip and urban experience in the heart of Detroit's emerging Corktown, stay here! We had a fantastic trip - great food, craft cocktails, good coffee, architecture, shopping, all mixed with some urban grit! We will stay here when we return.

    Mitzi2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • A great spot! Bright, clean and welcoming, Meghan's apartment was the perfect homebase for our long weekend in Detroit. She was very responsive over text, giving us great tips and suggestions throughout our stay. Highly recommended.

  • In our recent trip in Detroit, we stayed at Kyle’s location for 3 days and I should say that everything came out perfect for us and our needs. The place is huge! Two large bedrooms (one being VERY large, with its own full bathroom) plus one another bed strategically placed, made it perfect for our 3 person trip. The common area is convenient and comfortable. Everything needed was available in the kitchen, but we didn’t used much of it (as we got diner outside every evening). Location is quiet and close to the highway 94, allowing us to get to the loft from the airport in little more than 20 minutes. Instructions where VERY clear, and we experienced no problems at all to get the keys and access the building. Lot of excellent recommendation for restaurants and breakfast places (we did go to New Center Eatery on Grand Blvd and Rose’s Fine Food on Jefferson east - both excellent choice!). Gated car parking is available in the back and is very secure. The place is clean, as is the whole building. Each of us had bath towels prepared for us and we didn’t missed anything. In short. GREAT place. STRONGLY recommended. Perfect as a central pad to explore this beautiful city and it’s wonderful people!

    Stephane2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Loft itself is very hip presents beautiful in photos. The neighborhood is horrendous the wood floors creak with every step you take inside of the apartment... I would not stay there again

    Andrew2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a beautiful space. The natural light is amazing. The check in and check out procedure was so simple, it definitely caused the entire experience to have a much more natural feel. The only downside was there was limited light sources in the space after the sun goes down. Still, had a fantastic time. Kyle is a great host.

    Lex2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice loft exactly as described.

    Jalen2017-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • The space was very clean and easy to access upon arrival! Plenty of street parking for our multiple cars. Could use more dishes if we had planned to cook, but didn’t end up being an issue at all. Plenty of places to get/order food in the area. Great experience overall!

    Emily2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second time at the loft's and it's a cool experience, especially for our work group to stay together. Only warning is that it's SUPER bright at night with street lights and in the morning the minute the sun comes up. Love love love those windows, but I don't love not having curtains.

    Rachel2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute booking but Kyle was very fast to respond and have all taken care of emediatly. His place is beautiful, tastefully decorated, very clean and beds are super comfortable. The hands off check in/out was a breeze and fenced in parking lot very safe and secured. Absolutely recommend and will book soon again !! Thank you Kyle.

Fresh Gothic-Victorian nearby the Museum of African American History, Wayne State, Third Man Records, Shinola. Sfumato Fragrances NOW OPEN in the garden level, perfume shop and low-key scented cocktail bar (search for the latest Lonely Planet article). Selden Standard across the street. 9 min walk to QLINE (approx 10 min to Downtown on the streetcar). 10 min walk to U of M Ann Arbor shuttle bus. MoGo bike rental 1 block away. Rocket Fiber gigabit internet speed. Sonos controls in wall speakers.
This 1880s Gothic-Victorian Mansion was renovated in 2015. Everything is new, clean and modern. There is a queen sized bed and an air mattress. The space can definitely accommodate 3-4 people, but it’ll be cozy (i.e., it’s a Studio). There is ample closet space, a full kitchen, washer/dryer and a private bathroom. The space gets great light. In addition to the low-key cocktail bar in the garden level, Detroit Clothing Circle clothing shop downstairs offers curated racks of clothing with styles that won't blend in with the herd.
We have a great location in Midtown Detroit, many great bars, restaurants, and shops are within walking distance. Popular nearby attractions include the DIA, MOCAD, Chartreuse, Jolly Pumpkin, Hop Cat, Motor City Brewing Works, Great Lakes Coffee and Whole Foods.
  • Sarah's Studio was one of the nicest Airbnb experiences I've had ever. The space was beautifully designed and ordered, the neighborhood was great--close to lots of restaurants and other Detroit sites we wanted to explore--and getting in and out of the apartment was super easy.

  • Always love staying here. Location location location

  • Fantastic Air BnB. Great location in the hip and developing Midtown neighborhood of Detroit. Close walk to many of the new artisan stores and new restaurants in the neighborhood. Walking distance to Whole Foods. Several cultural attractions (DIA, DSO, other museums) within walking distance. Space it self was spotless and hosts provided more than enough bedding/towels/soaps for guest usage. Check-in was a breeze, and it was very convenient to not have to carry a key around. Great experience, would come again!

    Omar2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • I feel like I discovered a new category of Airbnbs - all of the perks of an airbnb with the feel of a hotel. Everything is well considered in the studio down to the Le Creuset French Press. The bed is super comfortable and the setting with the bay windows makes it a lovely place to lounge. The location is pretty perfect for a visit to Detroit with places to eat and shop as well as museums within walking distance.

  • My wife and I had a great time staying at Mark's place again! Mark's place is our go-to whenever we spend time in Detroit. Midtown is a great place and his Airbnb is only a short drive from downtown. We'll be back again!

  • Great location convenient to downtown and midtown

My husband, Matt, and I have a lovely flat in Hamtramck that has been restored to its original 1920s charm. Our style is intentional and warm, and decorations include things that we have collected through the years that have meaning to us. Equipped with a queen size bed in a spacious bedroom it is perfect for a couple or close friends! There’s plenty of room for an air mattress too. The living room has a couch, eating table, chair, and bar with stools for enjoying food and beverages. We provide a TV with Netflix access, games, and books for when you feel like relaxing after a long day of hanging out in the city. The brightness and vintage style of the kitchen will warm your heart. You will love cooking in this space, not to mention you will be provided with any cooking supplies you need. Lastly, the bathroom is large and clean with a vintage claw foot tub for a tranquil bath or shower. For longer stays, you are welcome to our washer and dryer in the basement.
Hamtramck is touted as ‘The World in 2 Square Miles.’ Located directly in the center of Detroit, it is a diverse city that has its roots in the rise of the auto industry. Anyone who loves history will appreciate the beauty and architecture that still exists in Detroit and Hamtramck. Originally a hub for Polish immigrants Hamtramck has maintained its eastern European flair and guests will find excellent Polish restaurants, markets with delicious pierogi, keilbasa, and stuffed cabbage along with a Polish Art Center equipped with treasured artifacts and souvenirs. Hamtramck also has some excellent Bengali, Indian, Iraqi and Yemeni food! • What an amazing apartment, in one of my favorite neighborhoods in ANY city. It's clear the hosts have put a lot of love into this home, and it's even more beautiful than the pictures show. I even checked out the bees at a safe distance (I am scared of bees). The host was fantastic and full of local knowledge, giving us great recommendations for nearby food, drink and museums. This neighborhood is my favorite in Detroit, so walkable but also a quick drive to lots of nearby attractions. Will definitely stay here again!

  • This is really a great place to stay. This apartment is what I wish mine was like. I'd live there all the time if I could. My wife and I were in town for a wedding and Matt and Meredith had excellent suggestions for things we could do in our free time. We had a great breakfast, some good beer, and some sightseeing all within a short drive. I would definitely stay here again!

    Craig2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! It's a cute little neighborhood pretty close to downtown. Accurate listing and Meredith & Matt made for extremely thoughtful hosts. Definitely coming back for our next Detroit week!

    Shannon2016-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew and Meredith were waiting for us on their porch and helped us with luggage and gave us such a warm welcome. We enjoyed the time we chatted and loved learning about their lives. Their place was the first place we stayed in Detroit where we came to explore this amazing city. They helped us get oriented. Their place is on the second floor of a two family house on a safe street, and decorated in such a fun, artistic, imperfect way (and I mean that as a compliment). We felt welcome and at home in their space and we would have love to have stayed longer. Exceptionally comfortable bed and pillows, and quality linens. Incredible bathtub! Amazing local beeswax lotion. A bottle of wine waiting for us. Gave us great recommendations. We had dinner at Rock City which was excellent. Many little touches that made us appreciate Meredith and Matthew as hosts. There was some street noise at night -- kids hanging out, but we put the fan on and closed the window and were able to sleep. We would love to return some time.

  • Sweet apartment - very comfortable with gracious hosts. Easy street parking and close to downtown Detroit by car. Highly recommend this place- we stayed with our nearly 3 year old and he gives it high marks too :)

    Susannah2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Meredith’s home is so charming and quaint it really feels like a cozy little home. They were fantastic hosts and had everything we needed to feel comfortable right down to the homemade beeswax lotion sourced from their own back yard! The neighborhood is vibrant and eclectic with lots of cool middle eastern & polish restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay!

    aderemi2016-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous apartment, very homely & clean. Lots of beautiful body products to use. Only a short drive from downtown. We will definitely stay again.

    Sara2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great experience we extended our stay! Couldn't have been more pleased with Matt and Meredith. Their home is inviting & cozy and the neighborhood is really cool! Communication was great as well!

Up north at its best! Stay in a custom cabin in the middle of Rocky Top Farms, a cherry orchard. Please read this listing completely!
Custom timber-frame cabin was built by my husband, father-in-law, and me with the help from many, many friends. The little cabin is in the middle of a large cherry orchard in the heart of beautiful northern Michigan and is situated on a pond surrounded by birch trees. The love is in the details at this very special place. Climb a ladder to the romantic sleeping loft and gaze at the incredible northern night skies! Wonderful front porch! Locally made art. Amazing soapstone wood stove for cozy warmth and romantic, flickering firelight. Shared outdoor 6 person hot tub. The small kitchen is equipped with all you might need to make some wonderful meals. Fridge, sink, oven with stove top griddle, microwave. Pots, pans, mixing bowls, utensils, dishes, cups, mugs, basic oils and spices are included. OH~ and coffee maker complete with coffee. Towels, bedding and firewood are also provided. Enjoy acres of Michigan orchard, prairie, and woodlands. The north end of Torch Lake is just a couple miles away. Lake Michigan beaches are within minutes of driving. Ski resorts, breweries (can you say SHORT'S BREWING?), wineries, restaurants, farm markets are all within reach for great day trips. This property is best accessed by four- wheel drive during the winter months. You could say we are off the beaten path. This cabin can be rented in conjunction with The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms- check it out! The Treehouse is near The Cabin, but both buildings have been designed to have a feeling of privacy. There is a wall of pine trees between the cabins. Please be reminded that this is a working orchard. You may hear ambient tractor noises at various times. You should have 4 wheel drive to access the cabin in winter- I am not joking!!! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! We are located 15 minutes south of Charlevoix and 20 minutes north of Elk Rapids. Bellaire (home to Short's Brewery) is 20 minutes away. Traverse City is about 30 minutes to our south. See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. No public transport around here, sorry. You must have 4 wheel drive to visit the cabin in the winter.... Otherwise, prepare to hike about 1/4 mile to the cabin, and park at the barn. The water here is well- water. It isn't the city water you might be used to. It does have a yellowish cast because there are many tannins in it. The water has been tested, and is fine to drink. You may want to bring your own drinking water if are used to chlorinated water.
We love our rural neck of the woods! Surrounded by lakes, beaches and hiking opportunities abound! See the guidebook for a listing of our favorite spots. Our immediate neighbors consist of farmers, artists, a college professor, bee keepers, a massage therapist, a chef, an energy conservationist and a professional star-gazer_ truly! Our neighborhood is spread across many miles, but we are look out for each other and are friends.
  • Me and my wife had a great 3 night stay at the Cabin at Rocky Top Farm. Cabin was well stocked. Would definitely recommend to others who want a nuce quiet vacation.

    Jonathan2015-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Cabin at Rocky Top Farms is the perfect base camp for exploring the upper west coast of Michigan! My wife and I spent 3 days here and immediately began planning when we could come back and who we were going to invite to fill the other cabin on the property. Heidi is an excellent host that gives you privacy but is available when needed. The place is excellent, don't think twice about booking. We realized as we were leaving we didn't explore 90% of what the property had to offer. We will be back.

    Jim2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin at Rocky Top Farms is absolutely lovely. The directions made it very easy to find, despite arriving in the dark. The cabin looks just like the photos, if not more cozy. I loved the wood burning stove and my boyfriend loved the sleeping loft with windows to the northern sky. The highlight of our weekend was relaxing in the hot tub under the stars! Heidi provided endless unique touches, from helpful notes to a delicious local jam to having a woodpile all stacked up for us when we arrived. We really appreciated the emphasis on sustainability by recycling and using wood to heat the cabin. Heidi was always available to answer questions but we had plenty of privacy. I was a bit nervous about accessing the cabin in our two wheel drive vehicle based on the listing and we were planning on hiking in, but since there wasn't a lot of snow, we were able to get in and out easily. I can't wait to go back, mainly so I can continue my streak as reigning champion of northwoodsopoly.

    Susanna2015-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We were up-graded by Heidi to The Treehouse, an similarly idyllic remote cabin. We really enjoyed our few days there. Utterly different and charming as well as being very warm and comfortable. Even out of season it is a magical place.

    Elizabeth2014-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • GREAT! Super cute, tastefully decorated cabin with a nicely loaded kitchen. Big property with plenty of room for hiking/snowshoeing/skiing with a canine companion. Nice hot tub from which you hear chimes quietly chiming from a nearby tree. Super friendly owners who gave us a tour of their farm. Oh yeah, and you can buy their awesome preserves!

    Tawny2013-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin at rocky top farms was everything I expected and more. I went at the end of may/begining of June and it was perfect timing to see all the cherry trees bloom. It was a nice romantic stay for my boyfriend and I to celebrate our first anniversary. Also, I was able to bring my dog and it was a relaxing paradise for all of us. Heidi was a very good host, she communicated well and made sure we never needed a thing! Next time I want to rent out both cabins (the treehouse on rocky top farms too) and invite more people because it is really fun for everyone. While we were there, we saw what I swear was a 40lb wild turkey, numerous deer, bunnies, and one morning there was a gaggle of 6 geese families totaling 40 geese that would hang around in the pond! This place is an oasis for relaxation with nature. Also, I am an avid nordic skier, so I could see myself coming back any time of year. Thank you HEIDI!

    Tara2014-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Heidi for your hospitality! We only had a quick stay but appreciate a pleasant experience in your quaint cabin. Next time we need to come when the orchards are in bloom! I'm sure it would be stunning. -Alicia

  • The Little Cabin at Rocky Top Farms is basically the perfect of mix of being away from everything with just the right amount of modern amenities. It served us great as both a home base for traveling the area as well as just sitting and doing nothing. Plus, the host Heidi, was AWESOME. It was mine and my wife's anniversary, and she was able to help me with planning a little extra surprise for my wife. This was on top of the the excellent communication and the helpful notes in the cabin. Basically, there is no reason why not to stay here for a nice get-away. The cabin is great, the grounds are scenic, and the host is more than helpful. The only negative is me having to write this glowing review when I'd rather keep the place to myself.

Craftsman style, 2 bedroom cabin with large windows overlooking the designated "National Wild and Scenic" Pere Marquette River.
Craftsman style, 2 bedroom cabin with large windows overlooking the designated "National Wild and Scenic" Pere Marquette River. Peaceful and cozy craftsman style cabin in the woods overlooking the Pere Marquette river. Large windows on the riverside allow for a spectacular view of the river and lovely sunrises. The cabin has central AC and central heat, but there is NO TV or Internet/WiFi. The kitchen is well stocked with most cooking essentials. There is a tea kettle, various coffee pots, coffee bean grinder, dishes, pans, small refrigerator, and small functioning vintage stove. Freshly laundered bed linens, blankets and towels are provided. The town grocery store is conviently located less than a mile from the cabin. Both bedrooms have a full size mattresses. There is also a futon in the living room that could be used for additional guests. There is a 2 person tandem kayak, canoe and fishing poles are available at the cabin and are free for guest use. The burn ring by the river and a fire pit on the property that can be used for bonfires or roasting marshmallows. A door code enables guests to check themselves in after 3pm. We are available by text/email or phone during their stay if there any problems or questions. The cabin is located in Baldwin which is a small rural town that has very limited attractions or resturants, but makes for quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Cabin is located on Pere Marquette river which is a designated "National Wild and Scenic" river and is world renowned for excellent fishing for rainbow trout, brown trout and Steelhead. The river section directly in front of the cabin is open for fishing only during the last weekend in April to end of September (trout season). It is also a very popular river for canoes and kayakers since it is steady and considerably clear which is perfect for paddlers with basic skills. The cabin is located about a 2 minute drive from the closest 'open all year round' river location. The cabin is 1.5 hour drive from Traverse City (Wine tasting, beaches, cherry orchards) and/or Grand Rapids MI (Art prize, Fredrick Meijer sculpture Gardens). It is also 45 Min. drive from Ludington which has miles of public beach on Lake Michigan. Pleae note there is a approx. 50 yard walk from the driveway to the cabin. Smoking inside the cabin is not allowed. Pets are ok with the following considerations: no wet dogs in the cabin (most dogs love swimming in the river), no pets on the furniture and up to date flea control is appreciated. The cabin is located 3.5 miles from the start of the Pere Marquette Rail Trail which is a excellent mountain biking and hiking trail.
The cabin is located in Lake County which is over half state (Pere Marquette State Forest) and federal land (Manistee National Forest) with endless hiking opportunities. The cabin is located very close to the North Country National Scenic Trail. There are multiple sections of the North Country trail that allow mountain biking and also the Big M trail is nearby. The cabin is located near the small town of Baldwin which has very limited attractions and no notable restaurants therefore this is not the place to come for man made sightseeing that is nearby.
  • Very beautifully decorated. Every inch is unique. The view can not be better. It was fun sitting outside and being able to say hello to passing kayakers. Very relaxing. Great music hook up. We plugged our iPod in and turned it on. Easy. Read a book, caught trout, and my favorite part of the whole trip was waving at the man by the side of the road. Went swimming at the lake, 8 deer ran across the driveway and had an awesome fish fry! I love all the tiny pictures on the walls!

  • Beautiful cabin and perfect location for unwinding. Whoever built the cabin used every inch of available area- there's a lot packed into a relatively small space so the bedrooms are a little tight, but unless you plan on staying in the rooms the whole time, there's nothing wrong with them. The shower is also a little tight, but completely functional. The location was very quiet and peaceful, though we didn't utilize the property nearly as much as we could have (I'm a mosquito magnet so I enjoyed the view from the indoors). We thought with being on the river we would see more people fishing, but only had a single fisherman the entire weekend. The only "complaint" I have is the lighting- we had brought puzzles to do and the lighting made it somewhat tricky, even after moving all the lights around the table. But if you're not planning on doing anything that needs great lighting, you probably wouldn't notice.

  • From start to finish the whole stay really exceeded our expectations. From the cozy interior accommodations to the panoramic views from inside or out this place is truly a gem. It is obvious that this is not a typical "rental" space but carefully crafted haven that the hosts have created for themselves and generously allowed us to stay. We particularly enjoyed a relaxing morning sipping coffee (we counted five different apparatuses for making it by the way) and sitting on the couch or front porch taking in the surroundings. This is not to suggest that we sat on our butts all day. We hiked the nearby North Country Trail and kayaking right from the property. All in all an excellent getaway. We both agreed that staying just one more day would be ideal.

  • First stay with Airbnb and the bar is set very high with this lovely cabin. The second we walked in we felt years of work and history between the walls of this place. Words cannot describe the atmosphere that is created inside with the decor and available amenities. We cooked almost every meal on site and found not only utensils but some spices and other necessities that we forgot to bring along. We made some bonfire, used the kayak and read outside seating on the back patio overlooking the river. Overall, we hope to go back one day to this charming river cabin.

    Joanna2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Russ and Jade have an amazingly stunning and well-kept cabin with an absolutely beautiful view. The space was extremely clean with great touches to make the experience complete. We enjoyed the back deck as well as falling asleep with the windows open to the sound of the river below. We felt truly isolated while still being able to access a grocery store and other activities nearby. A true gem and was the perfect escape from the city.

    Kathy2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, truly amazing. Every part of this cabin was perfect. It offers a serene, relaxing feeling and has every amenity needed. We had a wonderful anniversary trip and would like to thank you for making this one of the best get-a-ways we've had in a long time. The cabin is in the perfect location for all of what Northern Michigan has to offer. 5 stars, one of the best Airbnb experiences we have had.

    Stacy2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Russ and Jade's cabin was the absolute perfect vacation! We were looking for a quiet, woodsy getaway and it utterly exceeded our expectations. The inside has been beautifully and tastefully finished with much attention to detail - it was as comfortable as being at home. The outdoors is gorgeous and so peaceful. We enjoyed listening to the bubbling of the river and the chickadees as we woke up each morning. The only thing we might recommend would be to bring some extra light for reading in the evening.

Log cabin on Grand Traverse Bay in beautiful Suttons Bay. Private beach. Super kid and dog friendly (extra dog fee applies). Grill, swim, read, cook, walk, hike, bike, wine taste and more...
Beautiful, fully-equipped beachfront log cabin on West Grand Traverse Bay. Lee Point is the place to be! Sleeps at least 8 (max 12) across 3 floors with 3 full bathrooms, washer/dryer, full kitchen, decorative fireplace, etc. The Beach: 150' of private West Bay beachfront for your use. Water is shallow (great for little swimmers/dogs) for a ways out. Beach toys, a few chairs and towels provided. We suggest aqua socks for little children given our own experience! There is a fire pit on the small bluff overlooking the water as well. The house: This is a traditional log cabin that is fully outfitted (towels, linen, cookware, etc) and furnished for comfort and a Northern Michigan vacation-style. 3 floors of space to sprawl, relax and enjoy. There's a very private deck off the back of the home. Linens and towels provided. Lower level bathroom completely remodeled and updated in December 2016. The indoor fireplace is only decorative. (please note!) The upstairs jacuzzi is permanently retired and not in use. Neither of these features are advertised as perks at the cabin, so please don't be disappointed that they are not available! Both are for the safety of our guests! *We are unable to accommodate weddings or special events due to insurance liability and facility requirements. Dogs welcome with an additional $25/day fee payable 1 week before check in. Please inquire with questions!
Location: located half mile off M-22, Lee Point is a quiet street made up of beaches, houses and local neighbors & vacationers. It's friendly, private and beautiful. It's a short trip into the charming village of Suttons Bay, and very close to the hustle and bustle of Traverse City and all it has to offer. We're a stone's throw from Black Star Farms as well! The house is located directly across from the private beach. Lee Point Road is generally very calm, but does pick up in the summer due to tourists and cherry season, so it is advised that children have an adult to cross over to the beach.
  • We had a wonderful weekend at the log cabin. The space is beautiful and Sharon was an awesome host. We hope to come back again!

  • We had such wonderful tame staying at the cottage. Plenty of space, a lot of sleeping options. No matter how hot outside the cottage stays comfortable and the first level nice and cool. We were surprised to see so many toys and books and games. Private beach is beautiful so as the property around the cabin. Everything is clean and very well taking care of. We are very grateful to have such a comfortable vacation with our 2 year old and 4 month old children :) We definitely will be back and will recommend this house to our friend and to anyone who is looking.

    Rita2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • The house was great! It was very clean and the booklets had a ton of info on the area. We did a wine tour of the area and there was plenty within a short drive. Can't wait to visit again! The views are beautiful and so is the home.

  • This house was ideal for our extended family! We were blown away by the location right across the street from a lovely private beach. The house was immaculately clean and well stocked with anything and everything you could need for a family beach vacation. • Fabulous place to stay on Lake Macatawa! Harriet is so easy to work with, and made our experience at her amenities filled cottage, one that we will surely recommend, and most likely return to. Walking distance to sunsets, bike and running paths, beach, and much much more ... Awesome place and location, thanks Harriet!

  • The cottage was the perfect getaway for myself, wife, two adult sons and my daughter-in-law. We all came in from two coasts and across the globe. The perfect place for a family reunion. Harriet was attentive, yet left us to our own. We will be going back! Cozy spot on the lake.

    Kevin2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough great things about Harriet's Lake Side Cottage. The property had everything we were looking for and Harriet went out of her way to ensure our stay exceeded expectations. The house was well-kept and fully stocked with everything we needed-- and the extra bikes, beach toys, etc were just an added bonus. The location could not be beat and we took full advantage of the proximity to the beach, trails, and eateries. Harriet was easy to get in touch with and always responded quickly to questions/requests.

It's fine to bring your dog but make sure to let us know beforehand...thanks!
Floyd Gompf's cottage in Lakeside. A well equipped clean and comfortable cottage furnished with Floyd's famous furniture. Has a wood stove and really nice wrap around screen porch. There's plenty of parking. A short walk or ride to Lake Michigan Pier Ave. Beach. Warren Dunes is close by too. The house is bright and sunny and is surrounded by lots of mature trees and is located on a quaint and quiet dirt road. Two bedrooms, one has a queen size bed the other has a double. One bath with a Jaccuzzi bathtub. A clean simple well equipped kitchen, brand new stove and refrigerator. Farmers markets in Union Pier and Three Oaks on weekends. Greenbush Brewery in Sawyer. The cottage is close to many quaint small towns. Three Oaks, approximately six miles from the cabin offers antique shopping, galleries, a distillery, movie theater and several restaurants. Sawyer is home to Greenbush Brewery, and Mesa Luna a restaurant which features home grown fare, a grocery store, a clothing store in a former fire station and Sawyer Garden Shop, featuring, fresh produce, a great wine selection and gourmet foods.
  • Linda was very welcoming and helpful in getting us settled in. The cottage was very clean and tidy when we arrived and every bit as charming and quaint as the photos suggested--we loved the large screened-in porch. The location was great--just a couple minutes from the beach and a quick trip to nice areas like New Buffalo. Thanks Linda & Floyd!

    Jason2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful cabin Linda and Floyd have built! It is much bigger than it looks from the photos and easily accommodated four adults and two young kids. The location is also ideal, close to some great restaurants and breweries and about 5 minutes from Warren Dunes. We highly recommend staying here!

    Sarah2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 9th weekend at Floyd's Cottage over the past 4 years and we had a great time.

    Deborah2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a mid-winter getaway. Peace, quiet and a fireplace. Exactly what we needed!

    Scott2017-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Floyd's Cottage is a great find! It's spacious, airy, and beautifully decorated. It's also only a short drive from Chicago, making it totally do-able for a weekend getaway. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Floyd himself, who made us feel welcome but also gave us plenty of privacy. Highlights included: a fire built and ready to light in the wood-burning stove and the wrap-around porch, where I enjoyed my morning coffee while soaking up the fall colors. The beach is only a short walk away and the nearby forest preserve is absolutely breath-taking this time of year. We loved our stay! I'm a first time Airbnb-er and couldn't be more pleased with my maiden voyage.

    Meghan2014-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Floyd's Cottage! It was the perfect quiet & cozy winter escape. Linda & Floyd were very much available & gave great recommendations for when we did venture to town. We absolutely can't wait to return in the summer to enjoy the screened porch.

    Kari2015-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Floyd's Cottage was a fantastic little place away from home. It was really nice to get away from the scenery I'm used to and enjoy some alone time with the lady. The decorations were things I've never seen before and definitely brought some motivation to decorate my own place. I am scared of the dark so it was a little spooky, but that's my own fault. It had just about everything you could want from a place and everything had a place to be! I will be coming back here sometime. Can't wait!

    Jakob2018-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a good time at Linda's place. Relaxing, quiet and stylish place. Close to the lake and dunes. If you like antiques, there are many stores around with amazing treasures.

Scandinavian modern home within a wooded setting, convenient to the towns of Leland, Suttons Bay, Northport, and Lake Leelanau. Walk to lake access, hike the cherry orchards, explore local wineries, distilleries and farm markets.
The house comfortably sleeps 6 people, there are two queen beds and two twin beds. There are two full baths and a powder room. The master bath has the soaking tub while the second floor bath has a large shower. The simple euro style kitchen is well equipped for cooking and serving, complete with convection oven, gas cooktop, drawer dishwasher, and refridgerator/freezer. The windows and location gives the feeling of being in a very comfortable treehouse.
The Wayfarer is located between the neighboring home, a wooded area and cherry orchards. Within a short walk there is a very nice public access to Lake Leelanau, a great spot for daily swimming and sunsets. The public access even has a boat dock for meeting up with boating friends.
  • The Tree House is amazing and if you have the oppertunity to book a stay (Website hidden by Airbnb) it!! We enjoyed ourselves imensly and will definitely be back

    Richard2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Wayfarer was an absolutely lovely place for our winter getaway! We really enjoyed the seclusion in the woods and with the snow all around it felt even more isolated than it was. The beds are incredibly comfortable to come back to after a day of winter hiking, and the oversized tub is the perfect place to soak away the chill. It's also within a short drive of plenty of wineries, restaurants in Sutton's Bay or Leland, and lots of great hiking on and around the peninsula. We would love to visit again in the summer to enjoy the grill and the campfire.

    Tim2017-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home in a beautiful area. Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Kate2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The Wayfarer felt like home for our three day stay. It was comfortable for everyone, from teenagers to poodles to adults! We did have a few questions and every time we reached out, the responses came quickly! Just a great stay!

    Mike2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed for 3 nights in October. The house is great, clean and well-designed. Location is central to all of Leelanau peninsula .

    Don2015-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in a great spot. We enjoyed just spending a few hours drinking coffee and watching the snow fall. Definitely a quiet spot but really easy drive to Lake Leelanau (Figs restaurant is great!). The house had everything you'd expect (plus a high chair). We're definitely coming back the next time we want Northern getaway.

    Jake2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in a lovely wooded setting! Just as advertised.

    Mary2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place! The house is modern, clean and in new condition. There are many clever things about this house, the way everything is built in with shelves and cabinets. We loved all of the wood, including the new deck with the oversized boards. (I hope the deck is going to wrap all the way around the side and back, because that would be very slick). The house is very well stocked with plates, glasses, etc. and well organized. The appliances are perfectly sized and work well. The house is well done; Sean has a great design sense. We enjoyed coming home to this after galavanting on the Leelanau Peninsula. We hope that Sean continues to buy houses and outfit them as he brings a higher quality to the rental market.

Furnished cottage that is steps to the public beach & restaurants in Charlevoix. 2 Beds/1 Bath. Futon pulls out into a bed. WIFI. Back deck. A great place to hang your hat & enjoy a great vacation. Please check calendar for specials. Central Air and Furnace just added in Summer of 2017. New flooring added in 2018. Great location just steps from retail and the beach. WIFI. Freshly painted. Comfortable furniture and beds. Claw foot bathtub in the bathroom with an add-on shower. No longer pet friendly due to too much difficulty with cleaning.
The City of Charlevoix, also known as Charlevoix the Beautiful, is located in Charlevoix County in beautiful northwest Michigan. The City borders picturesque Round Lake, Lake Michigan, and Lake Charlevoix. Charlevoix provides residents and visitors with opportunities to golf, boat, sail, ski, skateboard, listen to music and enjoy beaches or parks.
  • This is a neat little place however there were dog hair all over the furniture so if someone doesn't mind that then it's a great place but I don't think I'll be back because of that.

    Susan2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, literally blocks away from the main strip and beach! While walking to the beach, we also checked out the mushroom houses. The house was clean and it was perfect for 5 adults. Thanks for the great stay

  • Excellent value for mid week stay

  • I would have rated Karl 6 or more stars if possible. His communication and hospitality were both outstanding. The place was spotless, the setting peaceful and beautiful, and the facilities tastefully appointed. I highly recommend Karl’s place.

    Sheryl2018-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved being in the woods. The light came through the trees during the day and it was dark and quiet at night. Karl was very gracious. We had some bees near the entrance and bought some bug spray to handle the issue and Karl came to check it out and offered to pay for the spray. He also chopped wood for us when we told him we were going to make a fire. The interior was BEAUTIFUL. Karl has done a fabulous job of making his 3 bedroom wooded re-treat a real gem. The full kitchen was a plus too as we cooked every meal and he had everything there to make that possible. The sleeping accommodations and bathrooms were terrific too. We had my parents, my grandmother, my 3 year old, my wife and I and we were all very comfortable. Karl even had extras like beach towels, bug spray, flashlight and coffee available which was very welcoming and above and beyond. If you can handle mosquito's, a 15 minute drive to the beach and some possible bees you will be very happy. Thanks Karl!

    Pete2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Karl was awesome in helping for a smooth arrival and place was just as advertised. Recommended great local places to eat and drink. We would definitely stay again!

  • Beautiful and very private home, looks exactly like the pictures. Karl was very friendly and we even ran into him at a breakfast place! Baroda is beautiful, we went to a winery and explore the neighboring restaurants. This is our second visit to Baroda and will definitely not be our last, if we are lucky we will be visiting Karl's home again the summer

    Daylin2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • My fiend and I wanted to test out a weekday bike tour to some of the local wineries, and Karl's house was the perfect place to have as a home base. This house is a great size for a small group, has nice finishings, comfortable bedrooms and is quite clean. It is situated such that you can do a casual 6 mile ride and hit three fabulous wineries. For more experienced cyclists, extend the radius a few miles and you can add several more wineries/breweries with a challenging hilly and fun course. The roads were safe for riding without much traffic, though the weekends might be a bit busier. Karl was a great host and prepared the fire pit, which we ended up not using but were super appreciative to have the option. His recommendations for wineries were spot on. He was available and responsive when we needed him. Note that many restaurants are not open on Mondays, so best to bring food along the ride and to prepare at the house for dinner. The kitchen is well prepared for a home cooked meal.

    Nikki2016-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Plenty of space.

    Christine2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Karl's was great. Everything was very clean and there was plenty of space. It wasn't far from the beach and we loved visiting the surrounding beach towns. He recommended some wineries and other things to do around the city. He was very accommodating and made sure our stay was easy and pleasant. Would definitely stay again!

This second- story, custom built cabin in the middle of a cherry orchard has huge windows that allow for great natural light. Polished concrete countertops and floors with radiant heat. Sleeps 6. One bath. Shared hot tub. Large decks. Basic kitchen. Please read this listing completely.
Up north at its best! The Treehouse sits on a pond among the birch and pines in a working cherry orchard. Built by my husband and me, with a whole lot of help from many friends, it clearly has love in the details. Large windows bring the daylight in and allow for dreamy star- gazing - maybe even the northern lights! Six person outdoor hot tub is shared with the cabin also on property. Locally made art. Big garden. Access to trails for hiking, groomed cross- country ski trails, and mountain biking all around the orchard and ponds. Minutes to Lake Michigan and Torch Lake beaches. The cabin makes a great getaway for couples and families. There is a sleeping loft which can sleep four and a private bedroom which sleeps two. Limited kitchen has a smart oven, countertop two burner range, microwave, sink, coffee maker, electric frying pan and refrigerator. The Treehouse can be rented in conjunction with The Cabin at Rocky Top Farms. Towels and linens are provided. You must have four- wheel drive to access the Treehouse in the winter, or plan to hike the 1/4 mile from the barn. Please note! This is a cabin and not a traditional treehouse! We don't mean to mislead with the name- The Treehouse is what we have always called it. *Please read this listing entirely!
We adore our very rural neighborhood! Just a couple miles from both Torch Lake and Lake Michigan-beaches abound! Ask us about our favorite spots. Hiking and paddling opportunities are plentiful. We are not far from XC, downhill skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Rocky Top Farms is centrally located between Traverse City and Petoskey. We are located just off 31N. Our nearest towns are Elk Rapids, Bellaire, and Charlevoix, and East Jordan. The closest villages are Torch Lake, Ellsworth, and Central Lake. There are so many things to check out while visiting- or- just laze around the farm!
  • What a great spot! Clean, charming, well decorated and serene. It was a great home base for time spent in Charlevoix, Boyne and Traverse City. Hope to visit again!

    James2015-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the Treehouse! The location was perfect, the host very responsive and the house itself really cute and comfortable! We got to spend time in Charlevoix, Petoskey and Traverse City--it's in the middle of everywhere--but also spent a lot of time at Rocky Top Farms because it was such a pleasant place to be. We will be back!

    Sarah2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a perfect place to stay with your family or friends. Relaxing and quiet.

    Vita2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is exquisite! My bridesmaids stayed in this cabin during our wedding on the farm and we all had a very comfortable and relaxing weekend here!

    Jessica2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at The Treehouse at Rocky Top Farms ! The pictures were exactly as shown and the cabin was equipped with all the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom necessities you would need. Heidi was promptly available via text to answer any questions we had. Thanks for being a great host Heidi!

    Rob2014-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I took a solo vacation to the Treehouse over the weekend to relax before my last semester of nursing school. The property is absolutely beautiful, and the Treehouse is adorable! Heidi checked in with me via text regularly to make sure I had everything I needed which was awesome considering I was there alone. There really aren't words to describe how wonderful my experience was. Thank you for a relaxing, stress free weekend! Also, the description was right, you definitely need 4 wheel drive to navigate the driveway in the snow. I borrowed a Jeep and still managed to get stuck. Thanks a million to Heidi's kind husband Mike and the lovely couple staying in the cabin for getting me unstuck! I've been telling everyone I know about this place and will continue to do so. I hope I can visit again someday with my husband. Thanks again for everything!

    Ashley2014-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was totally awesome. We loved every minute of our time in Heidi's and Mike's place. They were great hosts, very attentive and accommodating. Their farm is very private yet within short drive to everything you need. Place was clean and description very accurate. We will be back! Thank you

    Marcin2017-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I feel so lucky to have found this gem on airbnb! We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary and wanted a quiet, peaceful getaway from our busy lives in Chicago. We got just what we were looking for! The farm and the cherry trees are beautiful and our pup had a good time exploring the grounds with us. The only surprise we encountered during our stay was that the tap water was slightly yellow. Heidi had thoughtfully posted a note explaining it is due to the tannins and is perfectly safe to drink. But, if you're nervous city folk like us, you may want to bring your own drinking water. All in all, we had an unforgettable stay!

Beautiful land, rustic, comfortable home, quiet & private! Take a hot tub at sunset looking out over property, cook in our great kitchen; have a campfire at night. Oh yeah, really nice bedrooms w/sliding glass doors. Listen to the wind thru pines.
Our four-season dwelling is on 4 acres of gardens, pines, and ponds. One small Japanese pond, and a really big pond out back which goes up and down with the river. That's the Galien River which is at the west end of the property. A very comfortable hot tub (2 seater and great jets!) is just outside one of the bedrooms on the porch with a lovely view of the land. It feels like more than 4 acres because there are blueberry fields all around and you can't see or hear any of the neighbors. We have 40 mature organic blueberry bushes ourselves which are free for the picking from July-Sept. There is a pet fee of $20/night. The home has 2 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a Queen size bed and a small sofa bed. The other bedroom has a trundle bed with 2 twin beds that can connect or not. In the living room is a long sofa bed that folds down to become a full bed. Really comfortable. We also have two Queen size raised air beds which can be set up in the living room, in a big a 4-person tent outside in the summer, or on the porch. 2 bathrooms, one with a marble walk-in shower and the other with an old fashioned laid-back bathtub. And- a fantastic record collection of Classic Jazz and Modern Classical albums! Home has a beautiful kitchen with a big stainless steel refrigerator, great stove, lots of cooking tools and lots of space for creating great meals. Plus a few Weber BBQ's outside for grilling. All rooms have sliding glass doors looking out to the whole property. The big screen porch (14'x26') is great. We eat and even watch TV out there, which is a LEDHD TV. (Streaming available) - Or play the piano? The house is all wireless, ceiling fans in all the rooms and on porch, and air conditioning/central heat. Great for a romantic and peaceful getaway, a small wedding, honeymoon, family reunions or small retreat groups. Three Oaks is only 90 minutes from Chicago in beautiful Harbor Country, with sparkling beaches, art galleries, great restaurants, dunes and hiking trails. Sometimes we love the winter even more than the summer out here...with the cozy fireplace and tons of firewood at your disposal- or use the fire pit and have a campfire outside. You can even cross-country ski right out back and down the little slope to the river! You will not want to leave when you're here. No one does.
Since I've been here for almost 30 years, I know all my neighbors and we're all good friends. I've always felt very safe in this neighborhood. Everyone looks out for each other. (It's a good way to live.)
  • Donna has a friendly home nestled among the fields and vineyards of SW Michigan. It faces a spacious yard with large gardens and a hiding blue cow. You'll enjoy a stay for the privacy in a large ranch home decorated with a life in the arts, We spent most of our time on the screened porch and a perfect for two hot tub. Rain or shine its a nice place to relax nestled away from the distractions of life.

    john2015-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Donna is great at communicating with you about anything you need. A nice rustic, eclectic place in a great location to beach, wineries, and three oaks. A quiet, secluded home with a charm of its own and a great view of the sunset out the back porch.

    Carolyn2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house is spacious and the back yard is very pretty with flowers and trees. It's also very quiet there.

  • We visited Blueberry Fields at the beginning of March. We wanted a family friendly place that my wife and I could enjoy some extra time with our new baby daughter over a long weekend. We wanted to burn a fire the whole time and just relax. That's what we got. The place was accurately described and experience was an anticipated. However, what was most important was that we had a host who was accommodating and responsive. We had a small hiccup (out of everyone's control) as you can expect with any trip, and Donna was easy and simple to interact with to help us. That is what differentiates a good bnb offering from a great personal experience which will keep you coming back. Thank you, Donna.

    Brad2014-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Donna Blue's cottage was a perfectly magical place to spend the weekend. Her home is filled with bright energy, a warm hearth and connection with the outdoors. Four adults and four littles fit well! Thank you, Donna, for your hospitality--we'll be back!

    Kathleen2014-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I needed a get away from Chicago, the Blueberry Fields House was perfect. The setting was peaceful. The home delightful. We enjoyed walking the dogs, short bike rides, a day at Warren Beach/Dunes, a bonfire with roasted marshmellows! I would highly recommend this for a quiet family retreat.

  • This is such a serene, lovely place! I came with a group of girls for a weekend and it was the perfect spot. It's so green and quiet, but close to great wineries, breweries, and the beach. The house is spacious and there's everything you need. Would definitely stay here again!!

Charming loft space in quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to downtown shopping and dining. Close to beaches, ski resorts and cultural attractions. Over detached garage--very private--come and go as you please. Perfect for couple or (very) small family.
Very clean. Simply and tastefully furnished. Plenty of natural light, wood flooring. One bedroom with queen-size bed. Sofa (not a pull-out) in the sitting room can provide extra sleep space. No kitchen, but space is furnished with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. Flat-screen TV. Cable and wifi access. Please note the Loft is above our detached garage and is accessed via two short flights of stairs.
Please visit the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce website for more information on the area.
  • Andrea greeted us at the door, made sure to fufill our every need. The accomodations are excellent, and we have already recommended her to multiple people. We hope we can make it back as we got engaged during our stay. Thank you Andrea!

    Emily2015-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in the Loft! We were only in town for a one night on business but Andrea worked with us on short-notice and made us feel so welcome. The Loft was cozy, clean, quiet, and equipped with a lovely unique bathroom! Andrea stocked the Loft with everything we needed; extra bottled water, coffee for the morning, clean linens, board games, a selection of movies and more. An excellent stay all around, we would highly recommend both the space and the host (:

    Marisha2016-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea was very quick to respond and assisted in changing the check in process when we realized we weren't going to make it as early as we had planned. She had water in the fridge and plenty of tea, coffee, and breakfast bars to welcome us. The space was clean, airy and very cozy with plenty of space for 4 people. The neighborhood was beautiful with well maintained homes, and an easy walk to downtown where there was gorgeous views of the lake and so many places to eat, drink and shop including 2 ice cream shops, a brewery and tunnel to the marina.

    lynn2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! Very close, within walking distance to downtown. Had all amenities we could ask for. Simple street parking and easy/helpful check in. Would definitely stay again.

    Katie2015-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea's loft was such a perfect place to stay. Andrea was communicative throughout the booking process, and she welcomed us warmly after a long drive through the rain. The loft is gorgeous: immaculate, beautiful and incredibly comfortable. We all slept so well. We also had a great evening in the town of Petoskey. What a great town! We ate at the Twisted Olive, (a recommendation from Andrea), and we had such a great meal. The next morning we had a perfect coffee at Dripworks in town. We couldn't recommend Andrea's loft more, and we have decided to make this stop a tradition on our annual drives to Wisconsin.

  • Cozy and charming! Lots of attention to detail. Lovely stay!

    Lisa2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea is a wonderful host. She helped us get checked in, showed us around the loft, gave us great suggestions on where we could visit, and then let us explore the town for ourselves. The loft is private, clean, cozy, and family friendly with a TV, DVDs, children's books, and games. Only a few minutes away from beautiful main street, where there are fun cafes, stores, and restaurants. Lake Superior is right off of main street and there is a pier you can walk down. Loved our time here.

    Tori2015-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was very beautiful and conveniently located to a nice little town. Our family of 5 walked to downtown Petoskey 3 times during our stay to check out the shops, restaurants and parks. We would definitely recommend this place!

Welcome to Esther House. We took a 1930's catalog vacation cabin and turned it into an inviting 2 bedroom retreat home. We are steps to the Spring Lake Beach and Village, bike paths, a 2.5 mile bike or car ride to the beaches of Grand Haven.
This charming, fully rehabbed 2 bedroom home makes for the perfect getaway, and the best alternative to a Hotel/Motel in the area. Although the footprint of Esther house is small, we offer 1100 sq ft of comfort over the basement, main level and lofted bedroom, designed with easy and comfortable living in mind. A fully stocked custom kitchen with high-end appliances, granite breakfast bar and an open plan to the cozy living/dining room. Small dinette table seats four. The living room has a comfortable sofa, reading chair and 42" TV. No cable, but its hooked up to stream all your favorites. In the basement we have a brand new bedroom with a queen sized bed, nightstands and dresser. A separate utility area with washer/dryer. Nice and quite fenced back yard with a cement patio.
The home is located in historic Strawberry Pointe area of Spring Lake, Michigan. The area is littered with these small cabins that once served as hunting and fishing vacation homes in the 30's, 40's and 50's. We are walking distance to the Spring Lake public beach, the expansive bike trails of the area and to the Village Baker (a must visit for great baked goods, fantastic brunch and dinners, as well as a great cup of coffee!!)
  • Great location and beautiful, immaculate home. The layout was perfect for my family. Nice amenities. Highly recommended.

    Mike2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Solid, somewhat secluded retreat destination. A bit pricey and there wasn't much flexibility when it came to arrival/departure logistics.

    Gregory2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, beautiful interior. Close to walking/hiking/biking trail and lake. Very pleasant.

    Marilyn2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Adorable home, made me feel happy. Near little beach for my girls, close to town, shopping. Very nice renovations and adorable little cottage. Would definitely visit and stay again at The Esther House.

  • We loved this little home in Michigan. We really enjoyed our stay. We had some issues that were out of Frederick's control and he did everything he could to get fixed as soon as possible. Would highly recommend!

  • Description of this home tells you exactly what to expect. It is small, but it is cozy and very comfortable. Location is wonderful and we really enjoyed our stay.

    Joanie2018-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Esther House was the perfect landing place for my wife and I to stay while visiting family in the Grand Haven area. Frederick has done an excellent job with the design and amenities in the house - it had everything we needed and more, and was a beautifully decorated, modern space. The home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood that is a very short walk from a public beach at Spring Lake and the lake trail. There are also plenty of stores close by, including RiteAid, a grocery store and a really great local bakery (Village Baker). Grand Haven State Park and Pier on the shores of Lake Michigan are a 10-minute drive or less, as is downtown Grand Haven. Because of the time of year we stayed, we weren't able to take advantage of the small yard but there is a fire pit in the back yard as well so I would imagine this would be a perfect summer destination! The furnishings are all brand new, with a few antiques mixed in which is a nice touch. The kitchen is well stocked with all the tools you need to cook a great meal (including a pretty fully stocked cupboard with olive oil, spices etc. you are welcome to use). Frederick was very responsive and communicative, providing all the necessary details and answering questions during our stay. Overall, our stay was very comfortable and we would definitely return!

    Paul2016-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay as The Esther House. It is a very clean and stylish place. Frederick makes it incredibly easy for guests to get access to the house, and he responded quickly to questions we had. I highly recommend staying here.

Country getaway! Located 1/2way between 2 small towns: Pinckney and Howell. Near Nature and Recreation areas. Our place is secluded and along a private road - but shopping restaurants and highway for commute are only 10 minutes away. Only 1/2 hour -45 minutes to Downtown Ann Arbor and University of Michigan. Our Private Lake (no public launch) is GREAT for fishing, swimming, kayak and canoeing. Birds and wildlife abound. Peace and quiet given and expected! Available all year round - in the winter there is skiing nearby - either cross country or downhill. Four bedroom and 4 full baths, fireplace, open floorplan with open kitchen/great room with vaulted ceiling, wrap-around deck and wrap around patio off walk-out finished basement. Fully furnished and well-appointed kitchen. Laundry room, game room stocked with card and board games, bookshelves full of books, 2 TVs with DVD players and large movie collection (no cable TV and NO INTERNET service unless you bring your own hotspot via cell phone.) We also have a firepit with sit-upon logs for roasting marshmallows or weenies.. We have a shore area, 2 rowboats, a 4-person paddleboat, and a 2-person kayak for exploring the private 82-acre lake.
Rural location for those wishing for a place "off the beaten path" and surrounded by nature. I do have neighbors, but am on almost 2 acres nestled into the side of a hill, along a private road, with 200ft lakefront on small sleepy lake. Our little private road is paved, but narrow. No parking on the street, plenty of parking in my long driveway, 4-6 cars easily.
  • This is such a wonderful, kld-friendly house! Our 4-, 5-, and 7-year-old loved paddling in the lake and playing with the board games and other children's toys in the home. And, it was so nice to be someplace with out internet or TV for a couple of days—made it a very memorable time with family. The host is very responsive and helpful if you have any concerns during your stay. Highly recommend!

    Jenny2018-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of space! She has everything you need for the stay and lake.

    Christina2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Susan is great to work with. She meets you at the house and is only a phone call away. Great response time.

    Mo2015-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Susan's cottage. The house and property were really nice and peaceful, and Susan was friendly and very helpful (and made some terrific homemade salsa for us). It's the perfect place for weekend away, or in our case, a weekend UM reunion. Not far from Ann Arbor, but worth the drive for the beautiful setting.

    Ben2013-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house was on a very private and quiet lake . Susan was great with communication and really helped show us around and explain things in the home. The kitchen was well supplied . The lower floor did have a musty odor and the dehumidifiers had to be emptied often.

    Margaret2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very pleasant. Had a great time.

    Bob2014-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • I would stay in the Lakehouse in Howell again. We wanted a laid back, family vacation, and the house had a joined kitchen and living room, a big TV in the basement, no internet (which helped us bond better), and the lake was a blast to boat and swim in. The interior of the house was fancifully decorated. The views of the lake, the grass, and the woods helped us relax. Susan was helpful and professional.

    S2016-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great house, amazing fishing for the kids, and a great place to get away from the rat race for a spell! Plenty of room for the 9 of us. Still close to shopping, restaurants, and anything else one could want or need. We loved our stay!

Spacious views of Lake Michigan, quiet and secluded.
  • Our experience at the Modern Farmhaus was an absolute dream from start to finish. Sean was communicative, easy going, honest and generous. The house is in a picturesque location- surrounded by beautiful fields, trees, and even a nice garden and chicken coop! We only wish it had been a tad warmer so we could have dined outdoors in the awesome space that was set up in the side yard! There are no other houses in view of the Farmhaus, yet Suttons Bay was a short 15 minute drive and Traverse City just 35 minutes down the road. The house was clean, impeccably decorated, and full of wonderful perks (cozy robes, a stocked bar, lots of books and games, etc). Our family enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable beds and the luxurious sauna for quiet personal time (each bedroom having its own bathroom was delightful!), but we also had plenty of space in the kitchen, living and dining rooms to spend time as a family. We would absolutely come back (in fact, we are already planning our trip for next year!) and wouldn't change a thing about our experience- except to make it longer! When your 7 year old niece says she'd rather come to the Modern Farmhaus than go to DisneyWorld- you know you've come across a true gem!

  • Honestly couldn't use enough superlatives. The home and the location were equally terrific. Beautifully designed and at the same time extremely comfortable. All of the information, instructions and suggestions provided were 100% accurate. Thanks, Sean. We really loved your home, your style and our borrowed time there. Stay well.

    Robert2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic house, I couldn't recommend it more highly. The space is beautifully decorated and perfectly clean. The kitchen is stocked with all the appliances you could need to make a tasty meal. We stayed here with four adults, and there was plenty of space with three bathrooms and three comfortable bedrooms. The grounds are perfectly picturesque, with herbs and veggies in the garden, chickens roaming the yard, and rolling hills all around. We enjoyed reading in the hammock and having dinner on the picnic table out back---we cooked local artisan sausages on the grill and drank local cider from Tandem Ciders. The house itself is close to a couple of small towns where you can eat, shop, or access the beach. It's also not far from Sleeping Bear Dunes or Traverse City (about 30-40 min). All in all, it was a magical week, and Sean was a fantastic host. He was very responsive and gave us suggestions for things to do and places to eat. We are already talking about our next trip to the Modern Farmhouse!

  • This is a one of a kind place to be in the Northport area. The quiet and beautiful rural surroundings along with a farmhouse that is beautifully and lovingly designed create an ideal and peaceful environment to relax and enjoy.

    Elizabeth2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I made a trip with our dog, from Chicago to Sean's home. The drive alone as you approach the home puts you in a state of relaxation, but upon arriving into the driveway, you will fall in love immediately. Inside the home is set perfectly for a couple, or group of friends to getaway for a few days. Being at the home and exploring the surrounding areas met every expectation we had for our getaway. Simply put, it was perfection and we can't thank Sean enough for opening his home to us. We can not wait to come back and can guarantee you will not be disappointed staying here!

This private studio suite acquires the best area of our 100+ year old house. A modified parlor and sunroom with traditional glass windows overlook historic Heritage Hill. Minutes from downtown, you'll be able to experience the best of Grand Rapids!
Our private studio suite is located within what we jokingly call the "East Wing" of our 100+ year old home. It has its own front door and is locked off from the rest of the house, so you'll be able to rest at ease knowing that you won't be sharing with others. Traditional glass windows wrap around the sunroom, creating a perfect place to drink coffee in the morning and sit on the couch while the sun sets. The suite offers a full kitchen and bathroom with a queen size bed.
Our neighborhood is part of the historical Heritage Hill district of Grand Rapids. Home owners in this area go to great lengths to keep up to code to preserve the aesthetics of this old neighborhood. A half block away is the Meyer May House designed by Frank Llyod Wright and is considered Michigan's Prairie masterpiece.
  • Neat apartment. Very clean. Loved the sun porch!

  • I wish I had more time during our stay; I would have loved to hang out in the sun room for an afternoon! This is a great location; we took a walk in the morning to look at the beautiful homes in the area! Easy Uber ride to downtown and back for an event. Close to local coffee shops and restaurants. Cody's instructions and communication made our stay super easy! Thank you!

    Jen2018-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Cody's place was on a beautiful street. The sunroom offers a nice place to relax.

  • This was our second time staying at Cody's Air BnB. Gorgeous neighborhood. Within close, walkable proximity to all the spots on Wealthy St. A very short (and inexpensive) drive or Uber ride to anywhere else in Grand Rapids you might want to go. The place is quaint but cozy. Perfect for a single person or a couple. Would recommend!

The Grand Mere Coach House is in an eclectic neighborhood surrounded by Lake Michigan, small lakes, and sand dunes. Grand Mere Park is a year around beautiful place for walking, cross country skiing, and sledding. The family room and kitchen face Lake Michigan with lots of windows. The house has a queen bedroom, queen pullout in family room, and laundry. A bird feeder adds to the charm. There is also a HOT TUB located on the back patio directly on Lake Michigan, behind the main house.
The coach house is on the Lake with a view of Lake Michigan and normally a beach. It has a full kitchen a living room with a queen pullout and a queen bedroom and bath. Grand Mere State Park is very close containing 600 acres of dunes, trails and several thousand feet of beach. Note: Lake Michigan is currently at very high levels and we have to access the beach from the public beach 100' to the south. The beach is still walkable all of the way to the south into the state park.
Grand Mere is an eclectic neighborhood in between Lake Michigan and 2 inland lakes. Grand Mere State Park containing 600 acres of lakes and dunes is next (website hidden). Joseph, New Buffalo, and wine country are within 15 minutes.
  • John is a friendly, attentive host who gives you your space. The carriage house is perfect for a couple looking to enjoy the private Lake Michigan beach just steps away. The dune hiking trails of Grand Mere State Park are a short walk south down the beach. It's a 15-minute drive north to the dining, nightlife and large public beach of St. Joseph, Michigan.

    Patrick2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • John's place was fantastic. I highly recommend his place if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway on Lake Michigan. The coach house was just as described, clean and very comfortable with plenty of space. The full kitchen is awesome and the view, even from the couch in the living room, is amazing. It's also a quick walk to Grand Mere State Park which has beautiful dunes that overlook Lake Michigan and great trails to walk through the woods. The neighborhood is very quiet and John was very helpful and responsive to any questions that I had. I would definitely stay here again.

    Michael2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in John’s coach house and were happy overall. The space is so clean and bright, and the bed is hotel-level comfortable, with fresh white bedding and plenty of pillows. The proximity to the beach and state park/dunes is amazing, and the neighborhood is really cute. Our one disappointment: we were informed after arrival that other guests were renting the bottom floor of the main house, and that, like us, they were “pretty interested” in the hot tub. While we appreciate the communal aspect of Airbnb, we chose John’s place specifically for the hot tub and for the sense of privacy and calm implied by the posting. Since the hot tub and fire pit are situated just steps from the very well lit, big-windowed bottom floor, making use of them felt very much like we were intruding on someone else’s space, which made it hard to relax. I’m sure this wouldn’t bother everyone, but we would have chosen another place if we knew we’d be sharing key amenities with other visitors. Aside from this lack of advance notice about the other guests, we really liked our stay.

    Kelly2015-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay at John's place! The house is in a great location and very clean. The hot tub, gas fire pit and lake views were spectacular. We highly recommend John's place to anyone!

    Jeff2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I had a great time here! John was very nice, friendly, and accommodating. The views are gorgeous and it's very peaceful. The trails were less than a 10 minute walk from the house which was a huge plus. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

    Katrina2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Johns quick response to all our questions was great. Location is spectacular. Right on lake Michigan, 10 minutes to St. Joseph's downtown, lighthouses, great food. Loved it. So convenient to attractions or just relax by the lake, right next door is the dunes and beach. Thanks John for an awesome weekend

    Patti2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • The experience was great. The property is well kept and exactly as advertised. Being able to walk out to the beach was great, and just footsteps from the grand mere park. John communicated well, and we always felt well taken care of.

The perfect home for a laid back group of friends, couples or a family to stay with all the comforts of being at home. In the morning, grab treats from the neighborhood bakery, Common Good, and plan your day exploring hiking trails, beaches, craft breweries and world-class wineries. Grab bikes and ride the 1.3 miles to Downtown Traverse City and West Bay to enjoy everything that is great about Northern Michigan: shops, views, dining, drinks, and more!
My home is your home for your stay. Your space includes 3 quaintly decorated bedrooms with empty closets for storage and plenty of space to settle in for your stay. The kicthen, dining room and living room have been recently updated and include all the essentials from home plus lots of unique details from my travels. The lower unit gym includes a new treadmill, free weights, bench and space for yoga.
Our neighborhood is called, "SoFo" because it is the area in town Traverse City south of 14th Street. Located at the edge of a quiet residential area with a grocery store, ice cream shop, whiskey tasting room, brewery, bagel shop, party store and some simple take out places: sushi, pizza, Chinese and sandwiches. We're only 4 blocks to Old Town and 1 miles to Downtown Traverse City.
  • There is only one parking space -- even though they advertised that the place could accommodate eight guests. On-street parking is nowhere near as convenient as the description would suggest. This place showed up when I specially requested "Entire home. Have a place to yourself". The residence has a lower unit, which was occupied. However, this may be the fault of Airbnb's search functionality, and not the host. Place advertises that it "sleeps" 6-8, which is completely disingenuous. There is only one bathroom, and only one parking space. Interior is nice and well-kept, but photos (which included no exterior shots) suggest that it is much larger than it actually is. Back yard is fenced in, which is great if you're bringing a dog. However, found cigarette butts. Fire pit as well. Host bumped up my check-in time by an hour (5pm? Really?), but it was literally the least they could have done considering what I was paying. Having one hour less to cleanup still doesn't excuse big hairs on the shower wall and cigarette butts in the yard. Bikes, bike locks and beach chairs were nice amenities, however there is no tv other than Apple TV. Internet worked well. Proximity to downtown TC is fine. Can be walked or biked. Keep in mind that there is no Uber in TC. Depending on the price you're getting, this place is nice for 2-4 people. Any more than that, and you're taking a chance. Read the small print.

  • Marta's home was very clean and pretty much as advertised. I did read throughout that there was a separate unit from home but we didn't expect/realize it would be in the basement of the home (I thought it was multi-family unit home). We did not fee it was worth (value wise) . We understood our stay was during Cherry Festival and that's probably a big draw, but before other fees it was around $700/night. After staying, we felt it was awfully expensive and not great value.

    Cameron2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Marta's! Her place is extremely comfortable and well decorated. It was a joy to see photos of her travels throughout the house. The house supplied everything we needed during our time, we even found birthday candles for a surprise birthday cake :). This cozy house is easy to find, check in/out, and is in a perfect spot to explore TC and surrounding areas. I hope we will return! Thanks Marta for such a easy and relaxing stay!

Nestled amoung many acres of state forest, including nearby lakes, and many miles of trails for hiking or skiing. Wonderful as a retreat space or vacation haven. Sorry, no children, no pets. Location 16 miles west of Ann Arbor, surrounded by state forest. Breakfast included, lovingly prepared by natural foods caterers and delivered to your cabin at pre-arranged times. Most special diets can be accomodated deliciously. Hanuman The main house has some ashes from Neem Karoli Baba in the foundation. • Mully and Deb are very kind souls! I would stay here again in a heart beat! I got in a car accident on my way to their cabin (unfortunately) and they were more than generous with giving my remedies to help. The cabin is a beautiful little cozy abode!

  • We loved our experience at Mully and Deb's place. They were delightful hosts and their breakfasts were absolutely amazing. This scenic BB is off the beaten trail and allows you the opportunity to have a get away from busy schedules and life. We would definitely recommend this BB to others.

  • My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time! It was a peaceful retreat from the busy city life. We really enjoyed the fireplace and hiking the trails that are just a few feet away from the cabin. The cabin is very clean and nicely decorated. I highly recommend you come here to relax and unplug. Before we left Mully and Deb made us a delicious breakfast! We left happy and with a full belly : )

    Roberto2016-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was ready for my arrival with plenty of wood to stoke the stove. Breakfast was scrumptious on both mornings. The quietude in the cabin in the woods was very welcome.

  • This cozy cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway. It's literally steps away from 20,000+ acres of state park land, including magnificent lake views and miles and miles of hiking trails. And Ann Arbor's restaurants and cafes are just a 20-25 minute drive from here. Mully & Deb were great, warm, friendly hosts.

    Bill2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic experience! We couldn't have asked for a better place to get engaged. The cabin is so cozy and romantic, as bare bones as it is. They served dinner AND breakfast, both of which were delicious. The cabin looks out on woods that were gorgeous in the winter and are probably just as much so in the summer, and there's miles of trails immediately accessible from your door. Mully and Deb are right next door for when you inevitably need to charge your phone, and their dogs are so cute!! Especially Prince Charles the corgi. Will definitely be coming back, worth the trip from Chicago!

  • Our getaway weekend was excellent!! The stay was SO peaceful! The hosts were excellent and the food was even better!! A++++++ rating for a rustic getaway weekend!!

    Chuck2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Hanuman's Cabin was as described, and was avery pleasant surprise. A rustic cabin nestled in the woods, a cabin much as the settlers would have had in the 19th century. The hostesses were very pleasant, and served very delicious breakfasts. Quietude.

Heart of Downtown TC on Union Street at the corner of Union and State! This Rustic Modern Loft is located just behind front street, only a block from the beach and everything that downtown Traverse City has to offer. Restaurants, festivals, coffee shops, movie theaters, you name it.
This iconic 130 year old building was once home to a printing press. Its towering brick walls stand 12 feet tall and were hand made using clay that is unmistakable to our area, from the waters of Cedar Lake just west of Downtown. The tasteful renovation included the restoration of the original old growth maple floors throughout, plus the repurposing of historic doors, windows, fixtures, and local barn wood beams and boards, as well as many custom pieces from local artisans.
This block is in the heart of downtown, set less than a block behind Front Street on Union. Multiple restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and all sorts of retail are within just a few steps out the door.
  • Saburi is a wonderful host. Super nice, reachable, and relaxed. The space was wonderful, great location to downtown and all the fun spots. The finishing touches on that place, perfect! I didn't want to leave, I even bought the blanket he has used to accessorize the room because it is the best ever. Paul and I joked that it was our home. Saburi and us talked of renovating the space to include a kitchenette. Great. Wonderful. Rasing the bar.

Floyd's Cabin is a spacious rustic loft style one bedroom cottage with kitchen, extra large living room, wood burning stove Long front porch spanning the entire front of the cabin.Screened porch which overlooks the woods. Located in Lakeside,Michigan on a quiet gravel road, surrounded by a forest of mature trees on all sides. Air conditioning in bedroom, which spills over into the living (Website hidden by Airbnb) fan in living room. Wifi a bit sketchy in the cabin but a good signal is available in and around the cottage (100 ft from the cabin) We're working on that. There are great restaurants, a micro brewery, art galleries, antique shops a short drive away. Warren Dunes is four miles from the cabin. Lake Michigan Pier Ave. Beach is a few blocks from the cabin. It's a short walk or bike ride away. Pick blueberries in the summer or shop at nearby farmers markets for fresh produce. Pick apples or pumpkins in the fall. There is a wonderful Farmers' market from 9 am to 2pm every Saturday and Sunday about four miles to the south of the cabin, located on Red Arrow Highway. Apple Cider Century bike ride in late summer. Lakeside is a quiet, long established summer community. Another nearby small village is Three Oaks, where you will find several restaurants, shops and art house movie theater (the Vickers) . Sawyer is another nearby village which has a grocery store, wonderful garden store, offering a huge selection of plants, produce and an extensive wine shop. Other things to visit in Sawyer are GreenBush Brewing Company, Joe Hindley Artist Studio, Katherine Doll Clothing Shop, which is located in the old Sawyer Fire House. Apple Cider Century Bike tour is in the fall.
  • My boyfriend and I rented the cabin for a lake getaway from Chicago. The cabin was even cuter and attractive than the pictures! We really loved using the gorgeous kitchen to make breakfast every morning and the living room being so large was an added bonus. All of the unique decor and artwork was such a great touch. We also took advantage of the porch to sit, relax and sip on some beverages. Overall the cottage was a great value for the location and the overall vibe. It was a perfect "glamping" getaway for my boyfriend and I, a great experience for our first Airbnb rental! My only complaint is that there was virtually no hot water for the shower.

    Kaitlyn2014-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome. We had a great time. The cabin is spacious and Floyd'll give you the lay of the land. We plan on returning.

  • The cabin was a really neat experience. It really completed our stay in this beautiful, artsy area. Linda sent great driving directions ahead of time, which really helped. Everything we needed (or forgot to bring) was provided. Great trip. Thanks!

  • Magical. Charming. All that we expected. Linda is delightful. The kids and I had a such a relaxing time in the woods--highly recommended.

  • Brought the whole family up for this trip to share this magical place. Kids loved it! Could not contain their excitement in exploring the house and yard. Butterflies, frogs and deer all spotted. Fire pit and meteor shower every night. We will be back!

    Jennifer2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I had a great experience at Linda's cabin. She was incredibly sweet and helpful. We left feeling so happy. We booked last minute as we decided we needed a break from the fast pace of our Chicago lives and what we ended up with was a very special weekend. The cabin is much larger than I pictured. It is filled with incredible furniture that I would love to own but probably can't afford. Everything about Linda's place is thoughtful. It is very clean, charming, and has everything in it you could possibly need. It is a happy place and we will be going back. Make sure you have a car. The cabin is a short distance from a great beach and there are good restaurants in the area. We drove a few minutes away to Sawyer to look at antiques and check out Greenbush Brewing Company. The food is outstanding, friendly staff, and nice beer. We were perfectly content having nice mornings in the amazing kitchen, days at the beach, and playing cards or scrabble on the screened in porch at night.

Me, my husband, my in-laws, and my two children spent five nights at Jack’s place, and we created many great memories around his dining room table after preparing food using his state-of-the-art cooktop. Most afternoons we took a chilly walk on the path by the lake, and enjoyed the wildlife (deer and birds) that would wander into the yard throughout the day. I don’t have a lot of experience using AirBnB, and Jack has definitely set the bar very high for both timely communication and thoughtful touches and amenities in his home. If you are looking for a quiet spot conveniently located near the University of Michigan and downtown Ann Arbor Jack’s place should top your list. Thanks, Jack!” Alyssa

  • Beautiful house and super host! Setting is lovely, view of the lake is amazing, and a quiet neighborhood to go for a walk and explore. We were traveling with a 3 generation family group. There was lots of room to spread out, and cozy areas for hanging out together. We all agreed the beds were super comfy! The stocked fridge was a bonus! Prior to our trip Jack was easy to communicate with and answered all our questions promptly. Definitely went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Two thumbs up!

  • Jack was a terrific host. He went over and beyond to make us feel welcomed. Even though the power was out because of a storm, I didn't feel uncomfortable when entering the dark house. He helped us with what we needed in a situation that couldn't be helped. Thanks so much, Jack! You have a beautiful home and we are grateful you would share it with us.

  • We stayed at Jack’s lovely lake house while in town attending a family wedding. Jack was a great host, we had the chance to meet Jack when we came to deliver some beautiful flowers. He stayed and chatted to the family, which was nice as it made it more personal, we got to know him and he got to know us. The house was absolutely amazing, the view over the lake was beautiful and even better to wake up looking at the view of the lake from the bed in the downstairs bedroom. The area surrounding the house was lovely and quiet, perfect for a relaxing break. If we ever visit Ann Arbor again we shall definitely be wanting to stay at this lovely house. We had everything we needed and more. Great host and house.

  • This was our second time staying at Jack's place and he has made it even better! Super comfortable, attractive, enjoyable place to stay. Great walks around the lake and through neighboring fields. Wonderful kitchen and Jack provided delicious snacks. A great place to stay!

  • Some friends and I hosted a weekend get-together for my best friend’s birthday in Ann Arbor this summer. We were looking for a quiet place to retreat to and enjoy each other’s company for a few days. Jack’s house on a little lake a few minutes outside Ann Arbor turned out to be totally perfect! He has great mid-century modern interior decor with huge windows that give a beautiful view of the water out back. We brought groceries to make dinner one evening and the kitchen had everything we needed. Jack was also very welcoming and accommodating during check-in. Definitely recommend!

  • We had a wonderful week at the cabin. The Northern Pike were fun to catch and eat. My elderly parents and teenage children were with us. The cabin was just like the pictures and had plenty of room. We had much needed family time. The day it rained we found a small movie theater in Ishpeming. Michelle was easy to get ahold of. No issues at all. This was our first time using Airbnb and we are happy with service.

  • Our holiday retreat was planned with Michelle back in April. She was up at the cabin the week before our stay, put up the Christmas tree, had firewood ready, the drive plowed. Called during our drive up to make sure we found the place. She wanted to ensure everything was perfect - and it was! We got so much snow over Christmas - it was breathtaking and magical. 8 inches before we arrived and another foot before leaving. I took a coffee stroll every morning to take in the beauty of the place. We'll definitely be back again and hopefully in the summer sometime to take advantage of the lake. Thanks Michelle!

    Shiva2014-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • After a 10 hour drive, the cabin felt like home as soon as we stepped out of the car! (Two adults, two kids, two dogs) It was clean, welcoming, and had all of the necessities. The view of the lake was stunning. With the sun going down around 11:00 pm each night, it made for full days on the lake. We enjoyed all of the kayaks, canoes, rafts, and caught lots of pike. Dragonflies were plentiful; we made out with very few mosquito bites even with our all natural, deet-free bug spray. We saw so many butterflies too! Our dogs picked up some ticks but that comes with the territory. We appreciated cooking all our meals on the gas stove with the seasoned cast iron provided. The hot water heater was great for four showers a night. What a blessing to be able to do laundry as well! The basement’s game room and DVD player came in handy on rainy days.. there were quite a few during our week long stay! When it was time to complete the cleaning checklist, it was a breeze for us since we are “clean up as you go” type people. The only downside for us had nothing to do with the cabin itself or our experience, just the steep pet fee - we paid a great deal extra to bring our two dogs for the week. We are responsible pet owners with well-trained dogs and took great care and caution to leave no trace of them on the grounds or in the cabin, so it was pretty hard to stomach the fee.. but I do understand the need in case of less responsible/cleanly pet owners. All in all, it was worth the extra money to have them with us and we are fortunate to have been able to afford it. We hope you are as pleased with us as tenants, as we are with you as the owner! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for opening up your beautiful cabin to us. It was our first family vacation and we couldn’t have picked a better place to spend it! We hope to come back next year!

  • Michelle is a good host and her cabin is good, too. It just like home even better. We love it so much. It has everything we need. The lake is very beautiful. We have a great time there. If we go there again we will choose to stay here absolutely.

  • It's been a pleasure the last two summers to visit the cabin over July 4th weekend and it's become a part of my Michigan experience. The location is great and the cabin is lovely. Michelle makes the entire process simple and Marsha does very well to keep things smooth. A must-visit for a proper Upper Peninsula visit.

    James2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle was kind enough to share her beautiful cabin in the woods with us again. My wife Kelly stayed at the north woods cabin several years ago and were Michelle's first Airbnb renters. Since our visit in 2012 we have been eager to go back, and even recommend this amazing place to friends and family who may be looking for a unique and quiet getaway. After four years we were finally able to return, this time with our dear friends the Bonners who were celebrating their 1st anniversary. Needless to say they were completely floored. The cabin and lake were even more charming than we remembered. Michelle keeps the cabin well stocked with all things you'd want at such a place. We canoed and kayaked around the lake and swam. fished, grilled. In the evenings we had bonfires and stargazed. Coming from the Chicago the four of us were completely enamored with the incredible night sky you get in the north woods. There are great hiking trails to be found in the area and we worked up a sweat around Craig's Lake SP and Teal Lake and made a trip into Marquette for fresh beer from Black Rock and Ore Dock breweries, and delicious pasties. A UP tradition our friends Jennifer and Andrew had never experienced. In addition to the swimming, fishing, basketball, and hiking, being a bit of a bird nerd, I particularly enjoyed the diverse songbird soundtrack that filled the air morning, noon and night. I didn't keep a list, but I would guess I heard and saw 40 species or more just hanging out on the property. Michelle's cabin is a one of kind gem. She's a fantastic host and lovely to interact with. We are all so very lucky she is willing to share it with us. This was my wife and my second trip, but I hope it's not the last.

    Ryan2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was our 3rd trip to Michelle's wonderful and unique cabin and property and we are so very thankful that she was kind enough to share it with us again. It is so nice we want to come back every year! Since our first visit in 2012 we have thought about back nearly every year (and ever season, wondering what autumn is like or winter). We were fortunate to return in 2016 with dear friends and we had such a great time we returned again this year. In fact we're so found of Michelle's cabin we even recommend this amazing place to friends and family who may be looking for a unique and quiet getaway. It really is a great place for couples, families or a small group of friends. Upon our return this year we found the cabin and lake were even more charming than we remembered. The cabin is extremely well stocked with all things you'd want at such a place. We canoed, kayaked, and SUP paddleboarded (a new addition) around the lake, and swam, and fished, and grilled out. In the evenings we had bonfires and stargazed. We are city dwellers from Chicago and forget what a proper night's sky is supposed to look like.... stunning. The evening sunsets were amazing and because of the northern latitude and being so west into the eastern time zone we enjoyed that golden hour glow over the forest late into evening (10:30pm!) There are great hiking trails to be found in the area and we took in some waterfalls and north woods scenery hiking the Dead River Falls outside Marquette. This hike was worth doing and we'd highly recommend to those looking to enjoy a bubbling river and the piney smells of a conifer forest in spring. We also ventured into Marquette for fresh beer from Black Rock Brewery and delicious pasties. A UP must. I'm a bit of a bird nerd and had great time again walking around the property listening to and photographing the wonderful song birds up there right now. There were easily a dozen species of warbler, woodpeckers, sparrows, hummingbirds, ducks and even a few cranes. Their beautiful songs, that quintessential North-woods soundtrack, filled the air morning, noon and night. I even think I turned friends onto birding it was that good.....maybe.... :) Michelle's cabin is a one of kind gem. She's a fantastic host and lovely to interact with. We are all so very lucky she is willing to share it with us. This was my wife and my third trip, but I hope it's not the last. Maybe next year!

    Ryan2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a remote wilderness getaway, this is the place. Just like the pictures show, it is a beautiful cabin in the woods. There is a fire pit, a completely private lake with a dock to fish off of, paddleboats, kayaks, and a canoe, and a whole lot of nature. Countless hours were spent floating on the water, looking at the sunrise and sunset, and enjoying the fact that we were so far removed from the daily grind. We took full advantage of everything there was to offer and wouldn't change a thing. The cabin has all the amenities to still feel like home. We also ventured out and explored some remote waterfalls and spent a day up in Marquette on Lake Superior (highly recommend). There was a night or two that we went into Republic for dinner and drinks and hang out with the locals. Everyone we met was gracious and even though we were tourists, they treated us like friends. It was a great Yooper experience! Michelle was a great host and took extra care to make sure that everything went off without a hitch. She was responsive and helpful. Hope to be back up there soon!

  • This was a wonderful place to stay in Saugatuck! The cabin was super close to town (a 2 mile bike ride away) in a cute neighborhood with a pool and lake access. It was decorated beautifully with high quality linens, towels, and toiletries. We had everything we needed to cook breakfast and dinner, which we did both days of our stay. We had a great time relaxing on the back porch, fishing off the dock, and exploring downtown Saugatuck. Eric was a great host—very responsive and thorough and nice to deal with. We loved our stay and hope to return again in the future!

A group of us came out to relax and have a friends weekend and all agreed that two nights weren't enough. The pool and lake are so easy to access and the screened in porch was perfect for enjoying at night. Eric is great about communication and seems to have thought of everything. We can't wait to rent again, hopefully for longer next time!

  • We loved our stay here! Very comfortable, the pool kept my niece happy, the kayaking was perfect for my family and we all had an enjoyable stay. Highly recommend!

  • Eric’s cabin in Saugatuck is one of my best Airbnb experiences yet. There were thoughtful touches like water bottles in the room, a few snacks and coffee. The space was clean and cozy with luxe linens and everything you need to feel great on vacation. Saugatuck itself has great food, outdoor activities and convenient transportation options (we loved the interurban bus that Eric recommended in his online guidebook.) We hope to be back soon!

  • Eric's cabin was a wonderful place for quick getaway. The cabin is true to the pics and offers wonderful amenities. We wanted to have a cabin experience and it was more than fulfilled. The spring and summers promise to be even better with a pool steps from the front door and access to Goshorn Lake. It's is a nice distance from downtown Saugatuck, close enough for daily commutes but far enough to have the nature experience. Eric was a wonderful and generous host, responding to any questions in a quick and timely manner. He also made some wonderful suggestions of places to visit. It is a wonderful place for family gatherings!

  • I’ve stayed in at least three cabins in Kingfisher Cove (the subdivision of cabins off of Goshorn Lake). We end up staying at a different place each time due to schedules. This location, I would definitely make a point to stay at again. Fantastically appointed cabin. Excellent taste in decor, small touches in snacks, coffee and Philosophy grooming kits. Bonus points for kayaks and bicycles! Near the pool. Short hike to the dock and very thoughtful appliances, dishes, pans. Every year I end up buying something but I didn’t need to this year! Great stay!

Brand new this year we have installed a state of the art 7 person Ozone treated hot tub!! Semi private, it will be shared with the other house I have on property. For skiers, we are located only 3 miles to the skier parking lot at Boyne Mountain! I can give you lots of great inside info on where to meet, park, and eat there. We are 30 minutes to Gaylord, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, and Charlevoix. An hour from Traverse City or Mackinaw Bridge. Property is nestled at the base of one of the tallest steepest mountains in the area called 'Old Maids Nipple'. The view up the mountains through the exotic swaying fern grove is breathtaking from back of the house. Gardens everywhere and solar lights abound at night to create a fairy tale space day and night. There's a grill area right out the door complete with new 10x12 screen house and lawn furniture. Very private and cozy, sunsets over the side of mountain are stunning.Kitchen: large (huge) french door refrigerator, glass Jenn Aire cook top, Jenn Arie convection oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, Blender, outdoor gas or charcoal grill, toaster, crock pot, Pots and pans, and plates and glasses. The comfy new leather couch also has dual power recliners that lay right down. Bathroom, Italian marble and aqua glass artfully hung will delight your sense of elegance. I am on the main highway between Boyne City and Boyne Mountain It is ultra convenient as it is the first road plowed when it snows, is right across the street from a grocery & bowling lanes, and easy access to all of Northern Michigan. It can also be a bit noisy if windows are open and no fans or ac running.
  • Sally was easy to communicate with and very attentive to our needs. She readied the property early for us and reminded us we were in no rush to check out our last morning. Sally and her colleague gave excellent couples massages - a fantastic experience for us right after a soak in the clean and well-kept hot tub! Great stay :)

  • Sally showed up with a nice snack basket and welcomed us to her place. She was available for anything we needed, but it was not needed.

  • It is a converted garage that does not look like the web photo. Hoping that she uses the cleaning deposit to get rid of the ants.

  • Nice little place for a weekend stay. Wonderful hospitality from Sally in showing us the place and directing us to some local attractions.

  • Sally's cabin, just like my previous stay there, was a perfect quiet break from my busy life. The hot tub is just the best, and the space is incredibly clean and perfectly appointed. Sally and her helper Deb are quick and friendly responders always. Would highly recommend and will visit again.

Our stay at the Studio was pleasant and comfortable. The cottage offered us privacy and seclusion but was within close proximity to the area attractions. Our host provided some great coffee, fresh blueberries and was available for any help that we needed.

Kristina met us with bells on! She was quick responding to any questions we had and was very informative! I'd highly recommend this for a family that must have dog accommodations.

Irene and Lou were wonderful hosts. The room was as advertised, but the farm far exceeded expectations. Be it picking raspberries for breakfast in the morning, enjoying the sunset from the cherry orchard, or just lazing about the house, the entire experience was exactly what we needed on vacation. Irene and Lou were also incredibly knowledgeable about the area and were able to help us make decisions on how to spend our days on Old Mission and Lellanau Peninsulas. Would absolutely stay with them again on our next visit and will recommend to family and friends.
