  • This place is a gem! April and Ken were so sweet and left us great tips for places to see! The guest house was adorable! Very clean and super comfortable. There were 4 of us so between the bed upstairs and the pull out couch we were all able to sleep comfortably (as comfortably as possible with 2 beds) for 4 nights! Great kitchen as well, we cooked a few great meals. The location was perfect. 15 minute walk to the French Quarter or really anywhere we wanted to go. Highly recommend it and hope to go back soon :)

    Allison2014-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Property served our needs extremely well and location was superb. Ken and April are good hosts and responsive to requests. While the guest house has private entrance, there is a bit of a noise factor caused primarily by long-term renters in the main house utilizing their porch into the morning hours. Fortunately we were attending Tales of the Cocktail so it didn't affect our sleep too often.

    Rick2014-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • April and Ken were very welcoming and the place itself is very clean and close to the French Qtr.

    Bradley2015-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • April and Ken were very friendly, gave great suggestions for places to go and how to get around this great city. The place was simply adorable and we could not have asked for a better hosts. Thanks again!

  • April and Ken are awesome host! Their place was perfect. We cruised on our bikes all over the French quarter. We were very cozy and felt right at home. We will be back soon! Nola is the best place on earth❤️

    Allison2015-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was simply perfect. The place was super clean and very accomodating. The area is close to everything and April and Ken were wonderful hosts. We look forward to visiting again.

    Tessa2014-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • April and Ken let you be, they want you to have your vacation. My husband and I are "people" people.. lol We WANTED the interaction with Ken and April and we let them know that. You can have as little or as much contact with them as you want. I would say before you go get supplies or snacks.... check the cottage we went and picked up a few things that we didn't want to pack only to find they already had it! So we like previous guests left some things as well. The cottage was awesome, beautiful just like the pictures. We spent time in the pool which was very necessary when we there with the heat! The Magnolia tree in the backyard was so cool and huge gave us great shade. It's a beast to keep up with in the fall with all those leaves. I would love to see the beautiful white flowers next time we go! You are missing a great opportunity if you pass up this place. Wonderful people, Esplanade a great street, we felt very safe walking all the way to the French quarter, met some locals a few blocks down at the corner store who helped us out a lot with places to go see and where to stay away from. I forgot the name of the store ask Ken and April where we went they know. Have fun, feel safe, stay here. !!!

  • The carriage house was a nice place to stay! It was a large space with everything we needed. The linens and towels were clean and everything was comfortable. The location was a long walk to the French Quarter but there was a good diner for breakfast, convenience store and gas station very nearby.

This beautiful home is in a perfect location to explore the City of New Orleans. It is a hidden gem within walking distance of Frenchmen Street, the best local cafes, bars and restaurants (L'il Dizzy's, Port of Call, Cafe Du Monde), and only 2 blocks from the French Quarters. The home is perfect for those who want to be near it all yet still have an authentic New Orleans experience that is usually only available to locals.
This is a true New Orleans home...you'll enjoy all of the traditional details, like the fireplace and exposed brick.
This neighborhood is alive. It's energy is quintessential New Orleans. You won't find a bad meal or a weak drink. The locals are always friendly and quick to start a conversation.
  • Very cool space in a terrific location. You're two blocks from a streetcar station and Louis Armstrong Park, three blocks from a bus that takes you to City Park. There are some great restaurants and bars, Frenchman's street and the whole French Quarter within walking distance. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely consider an other stay at Mark's place

    Lenore2016-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at this place on Governor Nicholls. The place was spotless and very well decorated to the classic New Orleans "feel" you would look for. Located just a block from the French Quarter, it was great for walking or taking Uber rides around the city at a low fare. At night, it was quiet and in a non-descript area that was perfect to escape away from the bars and tourists of Bourbon Street.

    Erik2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Had a really nice time there. Checkin was smooth and the place was nice and big. Would definitely stay again!

    Susan2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish and comfortable. Excellent location.

    Christine2018-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Mark's place was beautiful and in a great location. Very charming and had local character. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. They were doing construction upstairs that started a little too early for my taste... but I am guessing that was a one time thing and won't happen again. This is a really great value... and I would recommend it. Also the bathroom is gorgeous.

    Jennifer2016-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location few blocks from French Quarter! We brought our family with kids and it was a great place for us. Love the historical home and feel. A very New Orleans experience! The main bed was comfortable (pull-out will be ok for kids, etc.). Very spacious. Check-in and check-out were easy and the hosts were great! We will definitely be back with the kids for our future NOLA weekends!

    Jade2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mark and Tranell were very helpful and friendly. Communication was wonderful. The location is right off of Rampart which makes travel easy. It is on a one way street, so be mindful. Parking on the street was easy. The house was beautiful and clean.

    Judy2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, beautiful, easy access to the French Quarters. Host was wonderful. We can't wait to stay again!

Guest area features private bedroom and bath with its own private entrance. Only 2 miles from the French Quarter by streetcar. Enjoy complete privacy in the guest space or visit with the hosts as you desire. Additional bedroom is available for groups traveling together or families traveling with children. Please discuss your group's needs with the host. New Orleans license number is 17STR-06526.
Private bedroom and bath in our charming shotgun house just off the Canal Streetcar line only 2 miles from the French Quarter. Guest area features private entrance, lovely patio, beautiful antique furnishings, 11-foot ceilings, petite chandelier, comfortable and clean queen bed, and cozy guest robes. Internet, cable TV, parking, oscillating fan, iron, music player, white noise machine, hairdryer, fridge, coffeepot, crockpot, and snacks are provided. The space has a peaceful, airy feel and is flooded with natural light. This listing is unique in that you have complete privacy from the main house. The guest space has its own exterior door, and you are free to come and go as you please. The garden path leading to your room features motion-activated lighting if you are returning after dark. The room is located down the garden path in the rear of the house. A second bedroom is available for groups, so the space can be made to accommodate 1-4 people. We welcome special requests and will make every effort to assist with needed recommendations. We can also provide a travel crib and other baby items if you wish to travel with your childen. We love hosting guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, and other special events. Our home is located in the historic Mid-City neighborhood, which was one of the first neighborhoods to spring back after extensive flooding due to Hurricane Katrina. Mid-City is located, as the name indicates, in the middle of New Orleans on what was once the backslope of the Mississippi River natural levee. Our home was built around 1910 and is a typical New Orleans-style shotgun house. In New Orleans at the time of construction, the shotgun house utilized a minimized lot frontage, on which taxes were based. The houses were also built without hallways and closets, which would have been counted as rooms for tax purposes. The origin of the building style and the name itself may trace back to Haitian influences on New Orleans, as many Afro-Haitian slaves lived in this area. Our house was recently featured on the HBO series "Treme", as the law office of the character Toni Bernette (played by Melissa Leo) and also as part of the interior of the home of Creighton Bernette (played by John Goodman). Guests are free to have complete privacy or to meet with the host as desired to obtain recommendations for food, drink, and attractions. Check-in is offered via a lockbox. Rates may vary during special events and holidays. Our home is located just off the parade route for Endymion, the largest parade of Mardi Gras. The festival grounds for Jazz Fest are just over 1 mile away.
Mid-City is a diverse neighborhood with its own distinctive flavor. Bars and restaurants in this area are largely patronized by locals, so the neighborhood provides an escape from the more touristy areas of the city, while still allowing easy access to the French Quarter via the Canal Streetcar Line.
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Erin’s place. It was super clean, comfortable, and quiet. The location is great as well. It’s in a quiet neighborhoods away from the hustle and bustle, but there are still several great bars and restaurants within walking distance. This was not my first time staying here and likely won’t be my last!

    Josh2017-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • We locked in a last minute stay on Christmas Eve and Day nights. We will echo other reviewers that the guest room and patio are a delight: new, spotless, and every detail for a comfortable stay considered. We were told by Erin and Greg that they were going to have a family Christmas Day dinner and if we wanted a taste. We didn't expect this meant being welcomed into their home to join their family to a table groaning with a collection of Southern festive dishes complementing a deep-fried turkey! It felt so homey and we are so thankful for the hospitality. Highest recommendation!

    Larry2012-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • I spend a wonderful weekend in Erin and Greg's beautiful shotgun house. I was trying to find something to complain but couldn't recall any, the bed is warm and comfortable, the room smells great, and the room has a private entrance so your privacy is guaranteed. Erin and Greg prepared everything for you: the robe, the toiletries, the chips and drinks, and even some recommendations for places to visit or dine. I didnt get a chance to meet Erin, but Greg was very helpful. The house is conveniently located, you can easily take streetcars to French Quarter, Frenchmen Street or WWII museum in 20-30 minutes. For places not that popular with tourists like Audubon Park or Magazine street, you probably need to transfer to a bus and walk a bit. There is also a great sandwich place nearby, I still miss the their po-boys. In a word, definitely recommended and I would love to go back sometime.

  • This place is in a wonderful location. Erin goes the extra mile as a host, leaving snacks and a wonderful list of recommendations. We loved our time in New Orleans, and felt comfortable, welcome, and safe in this beautiful home!

  • Erin has a great place to stay in Mid City. I have stayed in the French Quarter many times but this was my first stay in Mid City. The location of Erin's house was close to the trolly, bars, and restaurants. It is very clean and she has been thoughtful with all the little extras in the room. I would stay there again.

    Joni2016-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The reviewers below are not exagerating; Erin's place is amazing! Beautiful, unique and well equiped. And Erin is absolutely lovely. Highly, highly recommended!

    Elizabeth (Nathalie)2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time in NOLA and first time using airbnb, Erin's room was beautiful, comfortable, clean, and she clearly put a lot of effort into making it a nice place to stay. She communicated with us and answered any questions we had. The stocked mini-fridge and snacks were great, as were the toiletries. The fuzzy robes made it feel really luxurious. It was great having a TV with HBO too. If it had been a little warmer we would have sat outside on the patio, I loved the cat that sat outside there during the day, he/she was very sweet. The only negative things I could say are that the neighborhood didn't feel the safest (then again, it's a big city and all big cities are similar in that regard), and noise from the rest of the house does travel. The first night it was completely quiet, but the second was not. We had gone to bed early due to leaving the next day, but couldn't fall asleep until 12 AM. If you're a heavy sleeper or plan on staying out really late it probably won't be a problem for you. Still a great room, much better than any hotel at the same price.

  • If you've never visited Nola, I would highly recommend staying in a bnb in uptown like this one! It was nice and clean and quiet, and the neighborhood was great.. very authentic and the sense of community and culture is wonderful. I'm definitely a New Orleans lover for life after this weekend stay at Matthew's place, there's tons of great food located nearby, and the more touristy spots are easily accessible, we used uber. We ate at Jacques Imo's based on recommendations from Matthew and it was amazing. Overall great experience!

    Danielle2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful and secluded place to stay. Quiet and safe. This a great base to enjoy NOLA.

    Steve2016-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • We liked the studio being in a safe neighborhood close to public transportation. 4 blocks to the bus stop and 3 more to st charles street car. Street car takes a little longer but you get to see beautiful old houses. Walgreens is across the street from the street car. Riding the street car on St charles street, you can jump off at Trolley Stop Cafe, we ordered fried shrimp and oysters. Unbelievabley good. Rose was our favorite waitress. The studio was comfortable, clean and private. Matt is professional yet personable with a sense of humor. He made it clear to text him if we needed anything. One morning he texted to make sure we were ok and if we needed anything. What hotel does that?! The next time we go to new Orleans, I hope Matt has an opening for us.

    Carol2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The studio was everything we had hoped for. Cozy, clean, great location, and Matt was very helpful and friendly. We would absolutely come back.

    Samuel2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our visit. Matt was very responsive and even let us check in early. We love that it was secluded.

    Kenda2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We give Matt’s place an A+++! It was truly a wonderful stay. The studio looks exactly like the pictures shown on the listing and the location could not have been better. He was there to greet us as we arrived and had great amenities included in the studio like local beer and snacks! From the studio, it is an easy stroll to the St. Charles streetcar and something that I highly recommend doing while you are there. It is a breezy tour of the city and you have the luxury of jumping on and off as many times as you please. If you are pressed for time, Uber is also readily available and about a 10-15 minute drive from the studio to the French Quarter. I would gladly stay here again for our next trip to NOLA and would recommend that you do too!

Heavy noise at night for those sleeping in the main room and a couple of squeaky beds and broken dryer. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the beautiful location

Located on the residential side of Bourbon St. you will enjoy the quietness at night and sleep like a baby and few steps all the action of Bourbon and the Marigny area. This mansion was built in the 1830s n was recently converted into Luxury condos. STR Licence #: 17STR-09001
The living room has one queen sofa bed for two people, located in front of the charming courtyard, large balcony on the second floor, master bedroom with private bathroom, second bedroom with a set of bunk beds and daybed to sleep four people, kitchen, dining room, additional bathroom on the first floor, TV.
  • We loved the location- very close to Frenchmen St. and many things in the French quarter but it also felt a little bit tucked away and was very quiet at night. The place was charming and clean and we were very comfortable there all weekend. We would definitely stay here again!

    Amanda2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely place, convenient location - super close to the French quarter. The host was also really responsive and available to any questions we had. Slightly smaller than indicated by the photos / description, more of a 4 person flat than 6.

    Jessica2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Location was great, very close to Quarter, but not square in the hustle. Felt like area was safe, with common sense. Unit was clean and comfortable. However, know that the narrow spiral staircase is the ONLY way to go from floor to floor. Wifi adequate. Courtyard nice, but woke up to animal poop in the courtyard. Upstairs shower tiny. Management below average; be prepared to figure out most things yourself. There is a grocery on the same block around the corner, but we were directed to go about a mile away through sketchy neighborhood. There is no welcome book giving information about the unit, how to work t.v./cable, etc. Had to ask for the basics like kitchen towels, hairdryer, hangers, enough cups and glasses (there were three of each). Lamp switch in bedroom does not work; you have to plug and unplug. Needs some general maintenance like fixing drawers and towel rack.

The Mazant is a plantation-style home dating back to the early 1880s, located in the heart of New Orleans' Bywater arts district - and about 1-1/2 miles from the French Quarter (30 minutes walking or 8 minutes by Uber). We are close to Bacchanal, The Joint, The Country Club, Elizabeth's, and Satsuma Cafe. It's perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, company off-sites, and other large groups.
UPDATE SUMMER 2018: This summer we are making some additional updates to the house, including adding one additional queen bed (upstairs), remodeling three bathrooms, adding a new half bathroom downstairs, and doubling the size of the kitchen. New floor plans are already available online and photos will be updated by the end of September. ----- We have been working to renovate the house over the past several years, seeking to preserve historic details including 13' ceilings with plaster medallions, heart pine wood floors, cypress doors, and a 125-year old oak tree. At the same time, we updated the layout to more comfortably accommodate large groups: * 18-person dining room table * Oversized living room with 70-inch television, surround sound system, and Baldwin upright piano * Private yard (1/3 acre) with fire pit, six-burner propane BBQ, outdoor table, and hammocks * Super-fast WiFi (the top tier that Cox offers) * Front porch (gallery) with historic gas lamps and outdoor seating * Off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking for overflow The house has eight bedrooms with layout as follows: Downstairs - Bedroom 1: one queen bed (semi-private bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 2: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower) Upstairs - Bedroom 3: one queen bed (ensuite bathroom - shower/tub combo) - Bedroom 4: one double bed - Bedroom 5: one twin bunkbed - Bedroom 6: one king bed - Bedroom 7: two queen beds (semi-private bathroom - shower) - Bedroom 8: one king bed There is another shared bathroom upstairs (near the laundry room) with a clawfoot tub-shower combination. Unfortunately, the caretaker's cottage is no longer available for rent.
Just down river (east) from the French Quarter - stretching from Press Street to the Industrial Canal - is the Bywater, where the mood and pace shift as you enter into the heart of an edgier yet still welcoming neighborhood. The St. Claude Arts District, centered around St. Claude Avenue, is home to more than thirty locations exhibiting visual and performance art, along with an array of artisan crafts. Down Piety Street, the fun continues with restaurants, thrift stores and more galleries. Even the homes, cafes and restaurants seem to capture Bywater's eclectic appreciation for the arts. Spend the afternoon at Crescent Park for some impressive views of downtown New Orleans and the Mississippi River. Afterward, you can thrift your way through the neighborhood before stopping in at an exhibition and finally making your way to dinner. The area's restaurants are among the most innovative in the city and are great places to sit with a cocktail and chat with locals. Above all, the Marigny and Bywater neighborhoods illustrate the relationship between the New Orleans arts scene and local life. So whether you're looking for the New Orleans of old, or if you want see where New Orleans culture is headed for the future, the Faubourg Marigny and Bywater will offer you glimpses in either direction.
  • Beautifully decorated, comfortable and big enough for 15-20. Not like a typical Airbnb that needs mattresses in living rooms to accommodate large parties, this legitimately has 9 rooms. Recommended if you can get it.

  • Whatever you read in the description or view on the pictures is only a preview of how wonderful this house really is. Do yourself a favor and book it now while it's available! This place is like a gorgeous palace with so much space and beautiful decor! It fit our party of 16 perfectly. Jeff and Kevin were wonderful with checking in, offering suggestions for places to visit nearby and even greeted us with a special note and welcoming treat in the house upon our arrival. The outside yard was our favorite hangout space whether it was having coffee on the balcony, sharing laughs in the backyard, napping in the hammock or taking pictures in the courtyard, everything was beautifully done and accessible. Each room is beautifully decorated and pays close attention to detail. Even the mattresses and shower heads were wonderful! We cannot wait to go back! Thanks Jeff for making our family trip feel so comfortable and memorable!

  • 5 Stars! Our group of 10 was blown away by this house. It is HUGE, plenty of beds/baths, awesome common spaces (living room, dining room with massive table, big private yard with fire pit), furnishings/decor A+, and all only a 10-min Uber from French Quarter. Don't be scared by any rough surroundings as you drive in. This house is tucked on a nice block and is the gem of the neighborhood. Had everything we needed and would definitely recommend!

    Max2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house was even more beautiful than the pictures! It was very clean and the host was quick to respond to any questions. I would highly recommend!

  • This is the place for you.... This year I was celebrating my 30th birthday with friends and family from across the country and we needed a home base to go out, explore the city and come back to relax. This house provided all that and more. Jeff was always quick to responds about questions we had an accommodated our big group. The house easily housed 16 guests and had plenty of room for us to relax and not feel on top of each other. The house is incredible with a lot of light, open spaces, beautiful yard space and close to a number of good eating spots. By the end of the trip all of our friends were asking if we could comeback every year and stay in this house. Couldn't have been happier with our stay.

Stay in our beautiful, artsy and eclectic home within the Marigny of New Orleans. Walking distance to all the attractions in the French Quarter and right in the middle of all the Marigny/Bywater action! We have two beautiful and cozy bedrooms available in the upstairs of our home. There is a Jack & Jill bathroom upstairs with a private balcony overlooking the rooftops of the neighborhood and courtyard. You would not be sharing the additional room or bathroom with other guests when you reserve the two bedrooms are part of the whole listing. It is a perfect accommodation for parties of 3 or 4 people. Its almost like having a little private get away upstairs just for you. There is also access to our outdoor courtyard which is a sunny and serene spot to enjoy after a long day of sight-seeing. We have a coffee and tea bar set up in our kitchen in the morning for our guests to help themselves to and we are always happy to help you with any questions you may have about your stay in New Orleans. It is a perfect spot for Festival Season or any other time you are visiting since we are just a 15 minute stroll into the French Quarter on foot and 5 minutes by bike. We are closest to Frenchman street and we are right in the heart of popular Marigny and Bywater restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. We also have plenty of parking right on our street. If you have any other questions about our home and house rules, don't hesitate to ask. We would love to have you here and help make your stay a memorable one! Come out to New Orleans and join in the greatest party in the USA! Guests have access to our kitchen and living room. Also courtyard access for relaxing outdoors. We love to make our guests feel at home and give them the space they need to go about their trip however they choose. We are happy to answer any questions about New Orleans! Please also feel free to get to know us if you like. The Marigny is an eclectic and bohemian musicians and artists community just outside the French Quarter. This is a safe and walkable neighborhood with lots of unusual bars, thrift stores, music, dining, and coffee shops in the area that the locals enjoy. Also close to Frenchman Street which is the best street for enjoying the local jazz scene of New Orleans as well as St. Claude Ave which is an up and coming street with art galleries/bars and vaudeville/circus nexus of the city. New Orleans is a walkable city and we also have the Street Car service which runs from Canal Street to Uptown/Garden District from the Quarter.
We live in the Musician and Artists neighborhood of New Orleans. Bohemia at its finest!
  • Both Nick and Lindsay were very friendly and welcoming to us into their home. Access to your room(s) is quick and easy after you enter the house and very private. Even if the two of you are sharing a room, having the empty bedroom on the other side of the bathroom is nice to spread out or rest. Know that it is a pleasant 15 min walk through the neighborhood to get to the French Quarter. The trade off is that you are closer to exploring Frenchman St... I cannot believe we have never ventured here in all our trips to NOLA. This was a favorite for us with jazz, street food and artists. We pretty much only slept here with full days walking the town and a short nap late afternoons. Nick and Lindsay were home on some of our passings to share in our outings and offer local advice to breakfasts and excursions. The room is comfortable, the bathroom neat and supplied, and the bedroom balconies offer the quiet morning sounds of the neighborhood. Much better than staying in a hotel. Thank you Nick and Lindsay for your hospitality.

    Robert2014-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay were very nice and welcoming. Their house was really cool and in a great location. The rooms were nice and clean and everything was perfect. Had a great experience in New Orleans. Thanks!

    Jake2016-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home and really enjoyed the location. The description of their home is very accurate. It was fun having the upstairs balcony and the downstairs patio to eat lunch on. The living room was very comfortable to lounge in during our down time between excursions. We were walking distance (anywhere from 5-20minutes) from the touristy shops and bars as well as the local and quieter coffee shops, grocery store/"Mardi Gras Zone" store (5 minute walk!). It was a pleasant surprise that Nick and Lindsay were in a circus show which they invited us to. They and their friends were more than happy to share their tips about exploring the local hubs. Overall, really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.

    Annalisa2015-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved staying with Nick and Lindsay, they're home is super cute and the upstairs floor gave my group enough privacy. We mostly kept in touch with Nick, he gave us advice on which places to check out and was fast to respond to text messages. Their home, the Bakery, is filled with the NOLA culture which we loved. My group did a lot of walking through the neighborhood, we didn't feel threatened at all (even very late at night). Nick and Lindsay are such an adorable couple and their home is just as wonderful, I am definitely recommend friends to stay there.

    Dayana2015-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a super time while staying with Nick and Lindsay last week. Like everyone else has said, they have a beautiful home that is clean, bright, welcoming and super cozy. There were just two of us so we didn't use one of the rooms but they were both quite large with comfy beds and a connecting full bath. Nick, Lindsay and their friends we met were kind enough to make recommendations on where to eat, drink, and see the best live music in New Orleans. Thanks again for the wonderful stay and making our first airbnb experience a great one. <3

    Jenn2014-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the place. We were about a 15 minute walk from Jackson square, the house was super clean and they had directions and notes placed strategically throughout the house. We honestly rarely ran into the other house guests and really felt like we had the place to ourselves. You can hear the people in the living rooms talking from the bedrooms but it never bothered us. I'd definitely book again.

    Bobbie2016-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great quirky home which is in easy walking distance to the French quarter. We loved our stay.

    Michelle2016-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nick and Lindsay live in an amazing location for exploring the Marigny, surrounded by restaurants and bars and a quick walk to the French Quarter. The home was very clean and just as described. Nick and Lindsay were busy with Mardi Gras preparations so we didn't interact with them too much, but they were always very prompt in responding to emails. We had a local guide so didn't need much support, but it seemed they would have been happy to help out with activity recommendations should we have needed them.

  • I'm a host in IL. But I wanted to experience being a guest for the first time, even though I have family in the New Orleans area. I'm not at all surprised that I still spent the night at my family's. I found Andrew to be very much available prior to, during and after my stay. Check in was great, I liked the lock box that held the key, there was lots of touristy materials available, along with towels, 2 keys and places he recommended in a brochure he's put together. The linen appeared to be fresh, even though I didn't get to use it. I was very comfortable for the couple hours I stayed.

    Cote2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great host with a beautiful home near enough to everything you could possibly want. The free bikes were really convenient.

    Tommy2015-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had a GREAT stay in New Orleans. I didn't get to meet Coco and Andrew, but everything was really well prepared. I loved the personal booklet they made with their favorite places (amazing breakfasts, cozy dive bars, and not just the french quarter), and being able to cycle around it all. I hope to visit again!

    Jonas2013-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice clean room. A little expensive for location for the time of year we were staying. We were able to use the kitchen though which was a plus. About 15 min ride to Jackson Square. The bikes were good to get around. Overall our stay was nice. Thanks Guys

    Ashlea2014-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at Le Peach Parlor. The room was nice and tidy. I would recommend arriving during the day as it is a little hard to find the entrance in the dark. The neighborhood was nice but I would not have walked around after dark, especially back towards the way you come in. Overall I enjoyed my stay and Andrew very clearly lays out all the details you need to know before you arrive.

    Beth 2015-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • My cousin and I had a nice stay in the Gold Room. We had a chance to meet Andrew and Erica, who were very nice and acomodating. The slight downside was the location, but cabfare was resonable. I would definitely stay here again.

    Rana2013-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Andrew and Amanda's place was great! Their house has a lot of character and is well maintained. The loft bed set up is ovely and quite comfortable. The only issue was the noise in the morning since it is their shared living room that people pass through. But for the price and location, can't complain!

This free standing casita, tucked away in a tropical garden, includes a small refrigerator with refreshments, jazz records, New Orleans literature, and a clawfoot tub. Off of Esplanade Avenue, it is halfway between the French Quarter and City Park.
The casita is located in the backyard of a side-gallery shotgun cottage. I have been renting it through Airbnb for two years but recently changed to my on profile. The main house was built as part of a series of shotguns developed by two brother from Cienfuegos, Cuba in the early 1860s. The casita is its own building, built in a modern design in 2010. You can come and go as you please through our lush side garden. Inside, there is a very comfortable queen sized bed and bathroom with a clawfoot tub. You are welcome to use the washer and dryer and there is a small refrigerator and kettle. We include some local snacks as part of your stay. We also have a record player with music from New Orleans and books from the region and my own nonprofit publishing organization, the Neighborhood Story Project, for you to enjoy while you are here.
This old Creole neighborhood, in the heart of downtown New Orleans, is in between the French Quarter and City Park. Just a block and a half off Esplanade Avenue, a beautiful boulevard canopied in live oak trees, it is also very close to Bayou Road, the first road in New Orleans! From the house, you can walk to this street, where there is a wonderful collection of shops, including the Pagoda Cafe with the best coffee in town and wonderful breakfast and lunch (located in an old Chinese laundry building), the King and Queen's Emporium (which sells handmade soaps in one of the city's first public market buildings), the CocoHut (New Orleans/Jamaican food), and Domino Sounds Record Shop, which has been featured in national publications as one of the best record stores in the country.
  • This place was perfect for a couple wanting a quiet place to crash after the craziness that is New Orleans. Absolutely adorable and Rachel was awesome.

    Alex2017-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel is awesome, great communication. Her casita was a perfect hideaway in the beautiful city of New Orleans! She's got a great collection of books and records and we really enjoyed our down time just as much as our outings.

    Carla2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very cute little set up. Location was good, $5 uber to the French Quarter (always a tonne of uber drivers around). Although the casita is in Rachel's back yard, we were able to come and go as we pleased, we felt safe and secure, would never have known she was there. Rachel's communication was great, always easy to get hold of. Also, recommendations were great.

    Jenn And Jade2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Place was nice. Pictures are essentially what you get and not much more. Not as clean as we would have preferred

    Nathan2017-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent little home away from home in a local neighborhood. Clean and quaint. Easy communication with Rachel for getting settled. Quiet and private home from which to explore New Orleans. A pleasant walk to the French Quarter or a quick uber.

    Jimmy2017-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Gute Lage und sehr nette Vermieterin! Süße Details und Bier im Kühlschrank bei der Ankunft!

    Sabrina2018-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • The casita is as you see it in the profile. Nestled in the quiet backyard of Rachel's it makes for a good basecamp for visiting NOLA. Plenty of Uber and Lyft drivers nearby. Rachel is very responsive and accommodating.

    Rhyno2018-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel did an amazing job making us feel welcome the day we arrived. The Casita is within a mile of The French Quarters main strip, blocks away from Bourbon St., and Blocks away from Frenchmwn St. all within a walkable distance through a picturesque neighborhood. We could not have been more happy with our stay.

Why rent a room when you can rent a tiny house for your trip to New Orleans. This 650 sq ft home is just steps away from the French Quarter. Everything from Bourbon Street, Frenchmen Street, streetcar, bikeshare, and the Central Business District are all just a short stroll away. Private entrance through luscious garden. Perfect for a couple or a couple of friends. Cleaning free is included in nightly rate so there are no extra hidden fees with this listing. (City License: 18STR-15360)
Our guesthouse is located in the rear of our property. Estimated to have been built in 1837 (the same date as the main house), this space has gone through a total transformation. A mix of modern and old New Orleans bundled into a small house. There are 8 sets of French doors, and 4 sets of casement windows, allowing for the space to be drenched in natural light. When the weather is nice and a cool breeze is blowing, there is nothing better than opening all the doors and windows so you can take in all the sounds the neighborhood has to offer. Downstairs is an open living room and kitchen area with a complete 4 piece kitchen suite (full sized fridge stocked with bottled water and a Keurig with coffee), and a moveable island. There is also a flat screen TV with DVR, HBO (so you don't have to worry about missing Game of Thrones), Netflix and Amazon Prime. Netflix and Prime are already logged in for you to use. A spiral staircase leads you upstairs where there is a king sized bed, walk-in closet, a spacious bathroom, and 12 foot ceilings with exposed beams. Want to lounge outside? Hang out in the shared courtyard or if you prefer privacy there is a private patio behind the guesthouse. Parties over 2 persons will not be considered and will be turned away upon arrival. Parking is street parking which is unrestricted and free to all. Cleaning fee is included in the nightly rate so there is no extra hidden fees when staying with us. (City License: 18STR-15360)
The Treme is a wonderful and unique neighborhood unlike any other in the United States. St. Augustine Church is on the corner, which leads to many Jazz Funerals and Second Lines. The church also has an amazing Sunday Mass that is open to the public. As a younger nephew noted, "It's not really Sunday Mass, it's a concert!" Mardi Gras Indians regularly wander the neighborhood, as well as brass bands, musicians, and a pair of cowboys who are always walking their llamas, Shetland ponies, and goats. There is always something going on and the people in the neighborhood are friendly and talkative. You can learn just as much about New Orleans from the folks on the street in the Treme as you could with a tour guide charging you an arm and a leg to walk around the Quarter.
  • We loved our stay here! Charming home within walking distance of the French quarter's amazing food and music. Beautiful courtyard between the house and the guest unit. Bret is a terrific ambassador for his city and his neighborhood. Highly recommend.

  • Beautiful house that's walking distance to everything you would want to do in Nola!

    Hannah2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a First Class place. I felt extremely comfortable in Brad's place and very private. It's simply the best location in New Orleans as it's on the edge of the French Quarter, which means you have all of the greatness of the Quarter without any of the noise or commotion. I give this apartment a A++++.

    Brett2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing host with lots of knowledge about great local spots and history. The location is perfect for walking to all the best French Quarter sites. Bret also has the most amazing garden to sip your coffee in each morning. I highly recommend this house!! This was our first airbnb experience and it exceeded all our expectations.

    Andrea2018-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was everything we needed! Bret was so amazing!

    Casandra2018-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I drove to New Orleans from Houston during the recent Louisiana floods. Brad was away on business but had left his partner Bret's contact details and thank god he did! Driving through the storm I was in regular contact with Bret, he was keeping us updated on weather and road closures and helped us arrive safely. We couldn't have asked for a better place to arrive in New Orleans. The apartment was stunning, every last detail had been thought of, it was a perfect little oasis in the heart of the French quarter. Walking distance to everything and terrific hosts, by far the best air bnb we've ever stayed in, we didn't want to leave!

    Alexandra2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend Bret’s place enough. It’s amazing! Fantastic location close to everything but also quiet and private. Bret was fantastic to communicate with and had plenty of local tips. The place is spacious and thoughtfully furnished with all the creature comforts needed for a short or long stay. It is spacious with a full kitchen and even has a walk in robe. And the garden is just beautiful. Everything about our stay was perfect. Highly recommend!

    Nell2018-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Bret's place is fantastic, and so are they. The location is a 10 minute walk from the major tourist destinations, but far enough away that it's still quiet. The residence is private and has a lovely garden. Brad and Bret both checked in with us to make sure we were having a good time, offered suggestions for things to do, and responded immediately when we messaged them. I would definitely stay here again.

**2nd bedroom available also, please message host directly** On the border between the Garden and Lower Garden Districts bordering the St. Charles Ave streetcar line and a few blocks away from trendy shopping/dining on Magazine street and surrounding areas. Welcome to #NOLA
The fully furnished kitchen and private indoor laundry facilities will help make this your home away from home. Live like a local and chat to your neighbors on your front porch.
The Lower Garden District is a wonderful area to walk and bike around. Many people use St. Charles Avenue as a jogging route. Magazine Street is loaded with trendy shopping, restaurants and bars.
  • We had an amazing experience with Devon. The house is even more wonderful than the pictures show. Devon was a great host too; he really made us feel at home. Anything and everything we could of possibly needed was provided. We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to New Orleans!

  • Devon was such a great host! He was so nice and hospitable. His place was really a home from home that we felt so comfortable to stay

    Vy2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Devon's home is very clean and spacious and he is a friendly, helpful host. He offered us some good recommendations for local places to eat and things to do. The location is good in that it is close to the streetcar which takes you near the French Quarter but the area is a little run down and it isn't somewhere I would want to walk around at night. However it is under $10 for an uber into the French Quarter so this didn't affect our stay much at all.

  • Such a pleasure to stay at Devons place and meet him House is amazing .. spotless, well presented and very organised. • Nick and Lindsay made our first Airbnb experience an incredible one! Their home was as quirky, unique, and cool as our hosts were! We felt very comfortable and welcome right when we set foot in the door of their charming home. They were extremely accommodating and helpful, giving us everything from restaurant and activity recommendations, to a ride to and from the airport! We felt very safe and secure in their home, which was in a great neighborhood, easy to navigate, and just a short walk from Frenchman Street (my favorite!), the French Quarter, and all the bars and restaurants in the Marigny/Bywater area. We even got to see one of Nick's shows, which was highly entertaining and unforgettable! We had a fantastic time on our first trip to New Orleans, and Nick and Lindsay's hospitality and home were definitely a big part of that! Amazing hosts, amazing location, amazing trip!!

  • Very cool home! Clean and comfortable in a nice area :) would recommend!

  • Throw house is amazing, you seriously can't beat the location. We didn't see Nick and Lindsay much but they were super sweet and helpful. This is a super comfy stay worth every penny. We will definitely be back.

  • Nick & Lindsay were excellent hosts. The room and bathroom were both very clean. Their home was in walking distance to the French Quarter, which was super convenient. We really enjoyed are stay and would come back again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Nick and Lindsay's house! It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable, just as the listing depicted. The room was spacious and had everything we need. It was a short walk to the French Quarter and Nick gave us some great recommendations for where to eat. Only regret is we were only able to stay one night. Hope to stay again on a future visit!

    Mary2016-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for the warm welcome despite our late arrival (past 10pm)! Their listing has lots of space, lots of light, and such a wonderful place to be in overall, including the common areas. The pictures don't lie. The Marigny is a quiet, safe neighborhood, sometimes too quiet for Angelenos like my friend and I but everyone is really friendly and courteous. Walkable distance to the French Quarter, Crescent Park, Frenchmen St, etc. Thanks Nick and Lindsay for sharing your home with us. Although we did not get to interact that much, hospitality is not amiss on these New Yorkers!

A large upstairs suite with Private bathroom and sitting room, the room has a standard double bed as well as a small refrigerator among other amenities. A complimentary Breakfast including fresh brewed coffee, cereal, toast and fruit is also available to guests, as is free use of our Bicycles. NOLA STR permit# 18STR-06203
This listing is for our #1 suite which is the largest bedroom and features a private en-suite, sitting room, and standard double bed. Nestled under the eaves upstairs at the front of the the house is our fully renovated guest suite, the space is somewhat quirky with it's sloping ceilings and the chimney making it's ascension through the polished red pine floor on its journey to the ceiling. The room is well lit, with light entering both from the restored double hung windows in the dormers and the strategically placed accent lighting. The en-suite bathroom, while compact, features everything you need and we promise you will love the rainfall showerhead! The attached sitting room has similarly been restored and is the perfect place to relax and read a book while you recover from your excursions into our fair city, the room also boasts a large closet where you can hang your clothes and keep your luggage out from underfoot if you choose to make an extended stay with us. Our house is a traditional double, Creole Cottage built in the mid 1800's before the Civil war and has been added to a number of times over the years. I was trained as an Architect, and have played trumpet since the age of eight and currently my trio plays at Tommy's Wine Bar every Saturday night. My son Avery and I are in the process of restoring the cottage to its original character. My Wife Liz helps run a Womens Clothing Boutique in the French Quarter (just a stones throw from Jackson Square) which she commutes to either on foot along the Oak lined Esplanade Ave. with it's 'Gone with the Wind' houses or by the use of her trusty old cruiser (This town is very Bike friendly). My Son Avery moved here from New Zealand a couple of years ago to assist with the renovations, and help run Airbnb. He's a bit of a computer geek and belongs to a local Steam Punk group. For those times you need a little down time, feel free to make use of our spacious (private) back yard, or find a spot on one of the chairs in our living room. Liz and I have traveled extensively (usually on a shoestring) and have friends in a number of countries, we're always happy to recount the tales of our adventures, or to listen to yours. It's a 20 minute walk (15 minute power walk!) to the French Quarter under those gorgeous 200 year old Oaks, surrounded by gorgeous 200 year old houses, on what used to be a streetcar line. We have four beautiful rescued cats. Miss Doris Day from the Bronx and a few locals, Brian Lion and Rocky Raccoon and Prince Harry. Our latest rescue is Sgt Pepper a Border Collie.
  • Rick and Liz were excellent and friendly hosts - Rick dropped us downtown on the first night and saved us a long walk, was always ready to give advice and chat, and arranged taxis when needed. Our accommodation was good, comfortable and functional, and we enjoyed staying in their home. We enjoyed his musical skills and a singsong. Brochures and information on New Orleans and Mardi Gras activities was most appreciated. Tea and breakfast facilities were good. The location of the house was good, and in walking distance of where we needed to go.

    Michael2016-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Although we only met Liz briefly, she was very welcoming, Rick is a wonderful host and we had a great time in New Orleans. Their home is beautiful and we would recommend this place to anyone! Thank you Rick and Liz!!

    Jen2013-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Rick and Liz's. The room itself is quite large with a very comfy bed. Rick and Liz are great hosts, they make you feel at ease and are helpful. They put out a good spread for breakfast, even fresh baked scones one morning. I loved sitting in the backyard and enjoying their impressive selection of magazines. The neighbourhood felt safe and has some great restaurants and bars within walking distance. When you want to venture further afield, the bus is pretty much on your doorstep and seemed to go everywhere we wanted see. Overall a great place to stay and a great first Airbnb experience.

    Eleanor2013-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was the first time my girlfriend and I had been to New Orleans, and Rick and Liz were absolutely wonderful ambassadors. Their home is right off the architecturally stunning Esplanade corridor between Treme and the Seventh Ward. We stayed in the roomy unit #1, which featured a private bathroom, climate control, and a clean, comfortable bed. Also, the relaxing backyard patio was the perfect setting to split a bottle of wine to wind down our packed days before bed. The rental included our choice of complimentary road or cruiser bikes, which were such a huge addition to our trip - a 5 minute ride to the French Quarter, a 10-15 minute ride to City Park and St. Louis Cemetery, and an easy method to explore the neighborhood (including the great coffeshop five blocks away, Pagoda Cafe, per Rick's suggestion). We were close to so many attractions while enjoying a quiet getaway at night in a very cool residential neighborhood packed with New Orleans flair. As well, we both became quite fond of Doris the cat, who was none to shy about coming to visit (however Rick implied that they can make arrangements for those allergic). Both Rick and Liz were incredibly friendly, laid back, and accommodating in every way - we even got to enjoy hearing Rick's trumpet playing one night when we returned early and fascinating discussions with Liz on our last day. In short, we had a blast in NOLA - a trip that was both exciting and relaxing - and we would unquestionably love to stay with Rick, Liz, and Doris again.

    Michael2014-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and Liz were perfect hosts, I loved staying with them. The house is just off beautiful Esplanade Ave, and they have a great oasis of a backyard as well, and a set of bikes that you can borrow to head down to the nearby French Quarter or up to City Park. I would love to return again someday if they'll have me.

    Jeffrey2014-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • This room is so beautiful and a nice distance away from the noise of the French Quarter while not being too far away. Sparkling clean! We utilized Lyft and Uber to get around and it was the perfect place to stay for our getaway. I felt very safe here. We especially liked the nice touch of having our own A/C unit with thermostat control and the extra sitting area for reading books during downtime. The cats were so wonderful and were the joy of the stay with their cute personalities and how they flopped around together. The bikes being available was nice too. I actually do my best to book listings that have animals for Airbnb vacations because it is so comforting to have animals around when you are away from home and this was perfect. I also got the vibe that Rick and Liz really enjoy hosting and make an effort to know people who are staying with them and that makes all the difference. A+ hosts and space for sure!

    Alison2018-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Rick was very welcoming and cheerful. Convenient location. Girlfriend loved playing with the cats. Room was nice and clean.

    Matt2018-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Rick and Liz were incredibly gracious our whole stay. We were out and about a lot, so we didn't see them very much, but every time we did, they were so nice and welcoming. The room was perfect for what we needed, and it was too sweet that they had also included a small fridge and a couple waters. It was a bit cold the weekend we were there, which made it a bit far to walk down to the French Quarter, But overall it was a wonderful little place, and we are glad we stayed there.

  • Loved our stay, check in was easy, the design of the room is very cool. There's 2 bathrooms, laundry and a huge kitchen. It's more like an arty boutique hostel, love what they've done with the place and definitely recommend staying here for a unique New Orleans experience. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Andrew & Coco but Andrew kept in touch via text and the zine they made with suggestions of places to see / eat at was really helpful and awesome. Thanks for having us!

    Marissa2013-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Even though Andrew was traveling in Europe he was still communicating with me to make sure I arrived and everything was good. The kitchen and bathroom were spotless, the room very comfortable, and the house quite charming. He's also got bikes available if you need them, which is a great way to get around Nola. I didn't use them because I wanted to hang in Bywater, which is an awesome, hip neighborhood. Would def recommend Andrew's place, it's clean, affordable and in a great location,

    Nassim2016-05-18T00:00:00Z
  • Coco and Andrew were truly wonderful! Two good humans doing good things in the world… If you want a real New Orleans neighborhood experience you've got to stay here. They instantly made me feel welcome and comfortable. The bikes, a nice touch indeed. I spent two days riding around silly, no need for a car. One of the coolest things they've done here is the zine they made for their guests. It was extremely helpful giving me detailed suggestions on how to make best of my time in this truly magical city.

  • It was nice.

    Melanie2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Did not meet the host, and did not meet anyone because I immediately checked out and into a hotel. I know not to expect hotel-quality accommodations but the reason I left was because of a bad odor and two round stains on the sheets. Smells and stained sheets are deal breakers for me.

    Brittany2015-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first experience with AirBnB and it far exceeded my expectations! Coco and Andrew were very professional, helpful and fun. We arrived pretty late in the night and they were easily able to accommodate us. The room was clean and beautiful, and the bikes were so convenient to use. Two bathrooms shared between three rooms meant we were never stuck waiting to use the shower, which was a big plus. Overall a great experience!!

    Lauren2013-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing funky place with fun decor and heaps of charm. The guidebook was incredibly helpful in getting us around New Orleans. Bywater is a great area with nice food and cafes and friendly neighbours. We walked into town often, or used the bus stop at the top of the street to get in, and only a $10 cab to get home after nights out. We would absolutely recommend staying for an authentic experience.

    Hannah2014-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie was a very friendly host with a lot of knowledge of the history of New Orleans. The neighborhood was quiet and charming, and the property was beautiful. We brought our two children and they really enjoyed the trip too. Just a couple blocks from a playground, plus walking distance from the French quarter, the aquarium, Louis Armstrong park, tons of great food all over, the zoo was incredible, the list goes on. We will be back asap!

    Cara2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie was a very gracious host. He took the time to personally tell us the history of the house which made it all the more fascinating. It is a historical treasure furnished with charming antiques. As in many other neighborhoods of the city, the area is struggling, but has both new and redevelopment and is minutes from the French quarter by car.

    Gloria2015-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment/house was just perfect. He even provided daily cleaning and laundry at no extra charge. We especially appreciated the large bathroom, two refrigerators stocked with drinks, wine, coffee pot, microwave and huge king sized bed. The location is great. The neighborhood is very eclectic and within 25 minutes walking distance from the center. We walked to and from town day and night with no worries. Robert offered to pick us up from the airport and talked to us about New Orleans with pride. The last day, I asked him for a hairdryer and within an hour he had gone out and bought one. All I can say is we would stay there again and so should you!

    Cherie2012-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely amazing experience! Robert and Ernie met us at the listing, gave us a tour and entertained us with stories of New Orleans. The listing is located in the Bywater which is an area full of artists, locally owned shops and restaurants that still retains a residential feel. It's a short distance to the Marigny, the Quarter and other points of interest. I highly recommend this listing!

    Rae2014-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, a lot of history throughout the house. When we arrived Leslie gave us a full history lesson and a walkthrough of the house. Great hospitality. WiFi was slow for 2 days but picked up again so it was okay. All round great place and great host!

    Jack2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • A big thanks to Ernie and Robert for going above and beyond to make our stay in Bywater enjoyable. We appreciated the snacks and fresh flowers!

    Larissa2012-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Charming place, great NOLA hospitality. - Spotlessly clean, well-decorated and with fine touches such as the spa tub and the ice-making machine, the welcome bottle of wine and cheeses, the big supply of snacks, the flowers, the graciously helpful Ernie, the local history yarn-spinning Rob. - .In a hip, gentrifying neighborhood with atmospheric coffee joints, restaurants and bars. - A very short walk to several bus stops. Fares are reasonable fares ($3 for an all-day pass, 40 cents one way for seniors) and run frequently to Bourbon Street and the French Quarter, which also are only a half-hour or so walk from the house. - Dining, we really liked the chargrilled oysters at Felix's and the beignets at Cafe du Monde - We took the hop-on, hop-off bus as sort of our history tour of the city and had a witty and informative guide on the bus. It was good. - So ... a delightful stay at Rob's place and a fine ol' time in a fun and unique city. .

Come be a guest in my lovely two-room suite, located in my historic Marigny cottage, three blocks from Frenchmen Street and a 15 minute walk to Jackson Square in the French Quarter!
Two rooms, with an arch in between, in my Marigny home: a bedroom with a Queen sized bed, and a sitting area with a daybed set up as a couch, but can sleep a third person (twin mattress. ) The space features hand-stencilled walls and is furnished with an eclectic mix of antiques, vintage furniture, art and books...and a vintage baby grand piano! There is a small chest of drawers and an Art Nouveau wardrobe in which to store your clothing and other items. Amenities include wireless internet, a mini-fridge, and a new 24" television with a Roku and cable. The bathroom is 'European Style', meaning it is shared with the rest of the house, which is just me. It is a short walk through two rooms to the bathroom, which is fitted with a claw-foot tub and a rain shower head. Guests also may use my washer and dryer and have access to an iron and ironing board. I am extremely scrupulous when it comes to linens; all sheets and towels are white and are bleached and put through the sanitizing cycle of my washer in between guests. There is a latch on the shared bathroom door for privacy, and one on the door which connects your suite to the rest of the house so you can lock yourself in.
Marigny is a wonderful, eclectic, artsy neighborhood and is the second oldest neighborhood in the city, the French Quarter being the oldest. My home is a 15 minute walk away from Jackson Square in the heart of the Quarter, and is three blocks from Frenchmen Street. Who Dat Cafe and Orange Couch are nearby coffee shops (two and three blocks away, respectively) and there are numerous dining and shopping choices nearby without even having to go to the Quarter, including a Co-Op grocery store and Walgreens.

  • Merry's apartment was by far the most stylish, comfortable, welcoming and well situated place we ever been in our airbnb history. We felt in love with our room and everything in the neighbourhood. If you want to visit New Orleans and feel local don't look further. Merry was a charming host and it's a real gift that she decided to rent part of her apartment. Check in and check out were perfect, the apartment is super clean, well equipped and we had all the privacy we needed. We can't wait to go back!

  • Merry's house is beautiful and clean. the location is great for walking. there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. the french quarter is only about 15 minutes by foot.

  • Merry is a generous host. Her home is lovely and exceptionally clean. The location is fantastic! Just a short walk to Frenchman Street (the best place for live music in the city according to many locals). It is also extremely convenient to the French Quarter. I highly recommend staying with Merry, and would definitely stay with her again if I were to return.

  • Merry's place was wonderful. Great accommodations, great advice, great company. What more could you ask for? I would recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area!

  • This place is AMAZING. Not only is the space very stylish and comfortable, the location is ideal. It is on a quiet neighborhood street and yet a short walk to Frenchman St, FQ, and St. Claude. Merry was very flexible and accommodating. She gave great recommendations and tips. Though the common space is technically shared, we rarely saw others in it and rarely had reason to leave our room as most of what we needed was in it. I would highly recommend this place to all.

One bedroom, ground level apartment in quiet City Park Triangle. Walk to City Park, Jazz Fest, and street car to French Quarter. Fenced yard with gazebo and fire pit. Short walk to coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping.
City Park Triangle is a quiet and safe neighborhood. It is very well located to provide easy access (1/2 block) to City Park (Art Museum, Botanical Gardens, Morning Call) and just 0.4 miles to N. Carrolton Ave to restaurants, shopping and a stop for the Canal St. streetcar line to the French Quarter, Convention Center, WWII Museum and much, much more.
  • the place was exactly as pictured. it's in a quiet neighborhood and you have the whole space to yourself. Joan was very responsive to questions. also the bed was so comfy! I would stay here again if i was back in town.

This is a unique place and you will be living in the very center of the French Quarter. I love our neighborhood because of its uniqueness, diversity, and liveliness. It is so rich with history and recognizable around the world as " New Orleans". Whether it's 3 o'clock in afternoon or 3 o'clock in the morning, there is always something going on in the French Quarter.
  • This AirBnB provided a great location for exploring New Orleans. The check-in process was extremely simple; the unit was exceptionally clean, and the private balcony is a great perk. I would definitely recommend this unit to any of my friends looking for a place to stay in the Quarter.

    Matt2017-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Wow - location, location, location! It's literally in the heart of everything with a balcony you can sit out on right on Bourbon street. Well equipped with everything you need. Would definitely recommend and look forward to staying here again next time I'm in New Orleans.

    John2018-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly how the listing looks and then some! I couldn’t think of a better way to stay. If you plan on hitting not only the nightlife of bourbon street but even the sights around the French quarter, this is the place to be.

    Jesse2017-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great location with a balcony overlooking Bourbon St (towards the end of the action). Comfy beds and not as loud as you’d think given the location. Kitchen is empty without cups, silverware or paper towels.

Jon is a tour guide and has an extensive knowledge of our entertainment industry and he loves sharing ideas for fun adventures! Keely is an architect and loves to share her knowledge of New Orleans. Location, location location! We are close to everything! We lived uptown for many years and just moved. We love it here and can walk to everything. There is free, ample street parking right in front of the property. - 1 block from the Canal Streetcar - $7 cab ride to The French Quarter - 15 minute walk to The French Quarter We have a very secure apartment - CCTV camera system outside. • Loved our stay here! Convenient location, comfortable and cool accommodations, and Jonathan was extremely responsive and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

    Hannah2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a place! The loft is super cute and the perfect space for a quick visit to NOLA. The previous reviews were correct about the low beams but it didn't bother us. It's so close to canal st. And the French quarter. The whole foods is right around the corner. We loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

    Lindsay2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jonathan was a great host- he was super easy to reach, willing to help, and very friendly. I was provided for in every way, and they had some really nice stylish touches to make us feel welcome, like some unique New Orleans snacks and such :) Also the bed we stayed on was probably on of the most magical beds I've stayed on in years. I slept like the dead every single night. You can control the AC from your room and there's desk space in the back if you have to get any work done. If there was any drawback at all, it's that the beams in the upper loft are a little low. They didn't bother me, but if you're exceptionally tall you might want to get the room downstairs. Parking was really easy, it's just right in front of the building. Everything was very stylish and Jonathan and Keely were very welcoming and sweet!

    Rachel2016-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts provided a little card explaining Wifi access, travel information, and how to use their Roku. I loved the place! It was such a cool spot. The bed was so comfortable that I never wanted to get up in the morning. I interviewed at one of the New Orleans residency spots and the house was only 2 blocks from the hospital. The chips was delicious and the beer was great.

    Nick2015-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Though we didn't get to meet the hosts, the accommodation were great and as pictured. The bed was super comfortable and huge! Location was central and everything wasn't more than 15 minutes away.

    Kierstan2015-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the book loft! Jonathan and Keely were both very helpful and easy to get in touch with. Checking in was so easy with the codes already sent to us and ready to go. This was the perfect location way from the hustle but still a short street car or uber ride to the middle of everything. We will defiantly be using them again and would recommend them to anyone!

    Sheridan2016-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The location was amazing. Only a 6 dollar Uber ride to Bourbon Street and Jon and Keely were very nice hosts available for any questions we had.

    Amie2017-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • NOT FOR THE SUMMER. We visited in August and the loft was way too overheated. The air conditioners are super loud making it difficult to sleep and not much ventilation since there are no windows. The bathroom was literally a 24/7 sauna ...We also had a cockroach in the room during the stay... The low ceilings were not a huge issue, but if you are taller than 5' 6" I would stay somewhere else since you will spend most of your time ducking while walking around. Also, there is no kitchen and you will want to uber or taxi since it is in a sketchier part of town, but not very expensive ($7 uber to the French quarters). Jon and Keely were nice and helpful if you texted for advice and we also appreciated a couple of free waters each day.

Half double conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood in the Gentilly area. Only 3 miles from the French Quarter, Superdome, and downtown New Orleans.
Newly built home (June 2016) with two private bedrooms and two private bathrooms. Outdoor deck and grill in back. With private driveway for off-street parking.
The neighborhood is very quiet and conveniently located only 2 miles from Bourbon Street, 3 miles from the Superdome, and centrally located to pretty much any other area of the city.
  • This place was amazing! Very clean and spacious. Donnell was very informative about restuarants, lakes and the super dome. My first experience in NOLA was great because of Donnell.

    Tinisha2018-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean! very quick at responding to any questions!

    Jami2018-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here. The home is newer/updated and just as described. It's close enough to easily get to and from any sight you'd like to visit, but far enough where you're not bombarded with the craziness of Canal/Bourbon/Frenchmen streets. Donnell, as a host, was great. He was very accommodating and attentive to our needs, allowing a portion of our group to check in a little earlier. He also suggested a few things to do while in town. Though we only ever got a chance to speak in passing, he definitely made us feel at home with his courteous gestures and warm smile.

    Akia2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location from the things we wanted to tour. Most of the mtg spots were in the French Quarters area. Great location and very close to get on the freeway. I would totally recommend this place and I would definitely stay here again. It was enough room for the 5 of us.

    Maria2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Donnell’s “Home away from home” is just that. Donnell was so welcoming and the space was very comfortable. So much so that I slept in a little late past check-out the next day and Donnell was super cool about it...not sure another host would have been as nice! I truly enjoyed my stay. It was a short Uber away from the main spots- 10 minutes or less from French Quarter.

    Elena2018-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great host... highly recommend Donnell’s place to those visiting New Orleans ... He was very nice, attentive, & responded quickly.

This is a "mother in law" apartment added to my house in the 60's. Its a separate residence from my house and although attached there is no access between the two dwellings. Minutes to the French Quarter, downtown, the lakefront, and Mid City. Sure, you can find cooler places in hipper neighborhoods but you will pay ALOT more. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
It's a small (400 sqft) mother in law that was added in the 60's. It cozy and has "charm" in its own way. The bathroom is a kitschy 60's yellow with black trim, and the kitchen boasts a vintage Anderson stove from the 50's. No doubt moved from the main house after the renovation, the stove is like an old Cadillac. It's huge! I have cooked on it a bunch and I actually want to restore it and put it back in the big house. Someday, but for now you can enjoy it. All the burners work, as well as the broiler and hot plate. I never did try and fire up the slow cooker. Currently the oven thermostat is malfunctioning so if your yearning to bake I'll hook you up with my oven. The apartment could use a real renovation as the kitchen cabinets and floors are old and dated but it's not going to happen for a while, hence the low price. It's clean, and we keep it nice, besides you didn't come all the way here to spend time in a house.
Gentilly is quiet suburb just 3 miles north of the French Quarter of traditionally working class families. The homes are larger, and spaced on larger lots than some of the older more historic neighborhoods. My house was built in the 1920's, on gentilly ridge. It's the highest point around, and was high ground for Katrina. We were an island during Katrina, Betsy, and Camille! Getting around is easy. We are centrally located with fast access to the quarter, Mid City, the Fairgrounds, City Park, and the lakefront. You can be almost anywhere in the city in under 10 minutes or less.
  • Perfect location outside of the city with a quick uber ride to Ursulines, which is where our family was staying. Cozy and perfect size for 2 couples, especially if all you need is a place to sleep and shower! Joe was a great communicator and had an amazing board with a map of the city and favorite local spots that he would suggest! We would definitely stay at his Airbnb again in the future!

    Samantha2017-10-23T00:00:00Z

  • Joe's place was clean and comfy! I appreciated the newer clean couch and the bed was awesome! Had a great time in New Orlean's!

    Dawn2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • It's perfectly described, privacy was great, parking was always available and it was easy to get around both with transit and a car. All the amenities worked great and loved the Icelandic water for me in the fridge!

    Correna2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Joe's home is so cozy and was perfect for my boyfriend and I to hang around in while we weren't busy with an event we were attending. The house has a vintage aesthetic that was adorable to stay in. And the bed was amazingly comfortable, so soft and so comfortable-- we found ourselves curled up into bed and asleep within minutes. The surrounding neighborhood isn't loud or distracting but the neighbors are welcoming when you're outside as they'll wave and say hello. My boyfriend and I loved every minute we stayed and would definitely return if we went back to New Orleans :)

Located on the grand promenade of historic Treme, SIDE THE HOUSE APARTMENT fully equipment with coffee maker, refri, micro, TV, freeWI,1 full beds, loveseat, and kitchenette. 1.4 miles, 20min/walk to French quarter, 5 min. Whole food market and close to system transportation.
The A little bedroom apartment has kitchenette in one of the bedroom. If you have a small car .There's room to park in 2638 Saint Ann St next to the orange cone on the street.( one side of duplex house)
The neighborhood is safe, but still is in process of recovering since hurricane Katrina ( 2005).

  • Fernando was an excellent host! This place was very clean and cozy! You can't be the location or the price! Just a short Uber ride/walk away from anything you need!!

  • Very clean, hip little spot. Great amenities and price!

    Antoine2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • For the money this is a good option. Check in was easy and he let our friends store their bags until check in time. The area is “upcoming” so I am sure in a couple years it will be a fun little area. But I would just plan on taking an Uber every time. It was 7-8 each trip to the French Quarter. The beds did squeak a lot but I don’t expect hotel quality. All in all this is a good place to crash.

    Chad2017-10-17T00:00:00Z

  • Fernando's place was definitely a great deal! We didn't spend much time there, but when we arrived it was very clean and exactly as pictured! Private 2-room suite in half a historic "shotgun" style house. Only 2 blocks to the new Rampart/St.Claude Ave Streetcar line, 5 block walk to the French Quarter, 2 blocks to the Marigny, near Frenchmen Street, central location in an eclectic, authentic, transitioning "up & coming" urban area. License # 17STR-03780
This two-room suite is the ideal starting point for taking in everything New Orleans has to offer. Only 2 blocks to the new Rampart/St.Claude Ave Streetcar line. A private entry door leads into your own living room, bedroom and bathroom -- like having your very own apartment!
The historically Black/Creole "South 7th Ward" is centrally located and walking distance to many attractions, including the French Quarter, Frenchmen Street, St. Claude Ave, and the CBD (downtown Central Business District). My area is not a fancy polished up neighborhood, but rather a diverse working class, community of bar/hospitality workers, artists and musicians, which offers a much more urban, insider view into daily life here in New Orleans and easily walkable to all the tourist areas including French Quarter, Marigny and downtown. I know all my friendly neighbors and they enjoy meeting my guests too, feel free to say hi! Heavily damaged by the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, there are now many buildings in the area under renovation as it is currently the one of the fastest changing neighborhoods in the city. Many people who haven't been to New Orleans before are surprised by the shabby, somewhat dilapidated victorian houses and empty lots right next to newly renovated homes, our potholed streets and some remnants of Katrina that still are visible in parts of my neighborhood (we even have wild chickens & rabbits running around) but that actually is all part of the charm of our city, which has much more of a Caribbean Island feel to it then a typical American metro area. I do like to ensure visitors are seeking to stay in an actual neighborhood and experience the city as a local.
  • Chris was an amazing host. Not only was the his place beautiful and totally high-tech, but he provided us with such valuable information regarding the city that we felt like we were locals. New Orleans was a great experience and it is in large part because of Chris and his hosting. When I come back, I will definitely be checking if Chris' place is available.

    Stephani2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was awesome! Greeted us and gave awesome recommendations. Place is beautiful well kept. Neighbors were very nice. Loved every minute in NOLA

    David2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was a great communicator. I always knew where he was and where I was supposed to be. He was ready to meet me at the house when I arrived, and there to see me off when I left! I loved the neighborhood his house is in. Easy walking distance to Merigny and French Quarter. It's not a fancy neighborhood, but it's part of the "real" New Orleans that was spared by Katrina - with mostly original houses and residents. Since it borders the Marigny, it's getting to be kind of an odd assortment of the original black families and newly arrived white hipsters. The local businesses are similarly mixed. But everyone seems to get along really well. Most of the neighbors stay outside on stoops and porches chatting and listening to music during the day, but it's a family neighborhood, so it's quiet and restful at night. No bars or anything on that block. Everyone waved and smiled and was friendly and helpful to us. There are chickens and cats roaming the streets, which gives it a kind of rural feel. Chris is an artist/musician and is well-liked by his neighbors. They understand the airbnb thing, and are mostly supportive of it and enjoy meeting the new people that come through. He will be happy to make introductions when you arrive. His property has been re-done to be kind of like Fort Knox, with high privacy fences and gates and such, so you can certainly be well-insulated from the neighborhood if you wish. But I parked my car on the street and walked everywhere with my 15 year-old son, and we felt quite safe at every time of day and night. Everyone in New Orleans understands the value of tourism to the city, and as a rule are very welcoming. It's part of the culture and has been for hundreds of years. Make a point to spend some money in the immediate area instead of just blowing it all on Bourbon Street!!!

    Ben2015-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was an awesome host. He met us (my daughter and I) when we arrived and gave us a small tour of his place. The suite is nice, clean and very cozy. I love that he included a few snacks and drinks... and local beers for me to enjoy. He also went out of his way to give us more history about the neighborhood and the recent change it has been going through. He went way above and beyond and walked us over to Frenchmen Street and recommended a few restaurants we should try out. Overall, our experience was great and we would stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Sonia2016-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • One word: Excellent! Chris was very accommodating and has a beautiful suite. I loved the decor and the special attention Chris made in stocking the kitchenette with snacks. Great way to arrive in New Orleans. Also, the bed was extremely comfy! We slept so well. Great location, walking distance to the French Quarter and Frenchman Street. Tons of street parking (as well as in his gated, private driveway). I would highly recommend staying here!!

    Nikolette2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful home, big thanks to chris for making us both so welcome and ensuring that we were comfortable, and advice on the area and local bars and restaurants! Cannot fault and recommend highly enough!

Perfect size for three couples -- or three people who'd each like their own comfy, queen-sized bed. Kitchenette. Great bathroom.

  • Great spot very close to French Quarter without the craziness. Close proximity to Marigny and Bywater makes this a great accessible place to stay in New Orleans.

  • Great Spot!

    Cameron2017-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Mark’s place is cool, quirky and in a fabulous location, a residential neighbourhood close enough to easily walk to the heart of the French quarter but far enough away to give you some space at the end of the night. Some slight miscommunication over keys at the start so needed to find some WiFi to realise they were in the key safe by the door. A minor blip for what was a great stay.

Our Mid-City private unit is 1 block off Canal St and the street car, walking distance to City Park and several other amazing local neighborhood bars and restaurants. A 5-10 minute drive to downtown & FQ or walk a block to the streetcar stop Some notable amenities-Full kitchen, central air/heat, WiFi, LCD television & Cable, Washer/dryer, full bath. Living amenities: Queen bed, futon, linens, towels & washcloths, pots/pans & dishes and basic necessities like toilet paper and paper towels.
Completely renovated half of a "shotgun double" (essentially a duplex for those not familiar with New Orleans), about 650 sq/ft. Our home was built in the early part of the 20th century (c. 1906). Through our renovation, we took extensive measures to maintain the historic nature of our home and fuse with modern conveniences.
Mid City is a great part of town to spend your time in New Orleans because it's roughly a 10 minute drive to just about any tourist attraction you might enjoy (e.g. in the French Quarter, CBD or Uptown). It's a peaceful and quiet neighborhood, and also has some of the best places to eat and visit for entertainment in the city. There's always street parking in front of or near our house if you bring your car, which is safe to leave and there is no cost for parking.
  • Try G’s Pizza, in walking distance of the home. Great home with a beautiful kitchen. We rented a car and loved the central location. Parking was a breeze, in front of the house. Quiet neighborhood but plenty of great eateries in walking distance. Walk to City Park and go to the art museum! Also don’t miss the WWII museum, #2 ranked museum in the world. So glad we chose this house and loved the washer/dryer right there in the bathroom. Convenient!

  • Glenn is an awesome host, was super friendly and welcoming and ready to help with anything. The place is nicely designed with very cool amenities and had everything we needed. Very comfortable stay. Thanks Glenn!

  • Glenn and Claire's place was awesome! Just as described, super clean, super modern and up to date. 5 to 10 dollar Uber ride to the french quarter with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. On a quiet residential block that had a safe feel if you wanted to escape the noise. Would definately stay again!

    Ray2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • The location was perfect for more of a low key stay but close enough for easy access to public transportation. One block from Canal Streetcar, so getting anywhere in the city is a cake walk. Glenn was super helpful with recommendations and courteous of privacy. The amenities were well above average and with all the comforts of a hotel.

    Natalee2016-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice upscale place to stay. Would stay here again. Glen is a great host.

    Jamie2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn was a fantastic host! His communication was excellent and the house was beautiful. He even came out to greet us upon arrival! My husband and I were visiting for our honeymoon and couldn't have had a better stay. We loved everything about house. The location was great also. We easily accessed the trolley to get down to the French Quarter and had plenty to walk to also (including some delicious pizza). If you want a nice, relaxing trip to New Orleans, this is a great place to stay!

    Deena2017-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Glenn's place was great! Quick access to the streetcar line made going into the city quick and easy! The home was very comfortable and had all the essentials.

    Brian2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • We liked staying at this place after a long day of exploring the city. This neighborhood is peaceful and it was nice to have the amenities to stay in the home and relax. Having a Roku tv in the bedroom was nice. My only note is that it would take us 30 minutes by streetcar to the city sights. I think taking public transit took more time out of our trip than expected and if we stayed closer in town we could've explored more.

  • We had a great time staying with Hollis. He was very welcoming, friendly and super helpful suggesting places to eat and places to visit. His home is beautiful and clean and only a 10 minute drive to the quarter. His home was so nice to come home to after a long day out in New Orleans. He even offered car service to drive us to the airport on our morning we were leaving. Thanks for having us Hollis we had a blast!

  • Hollis is a wonderful host and his home exceptionally beautiful and unique. I enjoyed my stay very much and with it being my first time in New Orleans was beyond my expectation. The location is great for public transit or catching uber to nearby French Quarters.

  • Hollis was a great host! We loved NOLA!

    Peter2018-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • I wasn’t at Hollis’ place for that long. My flight got in late so I was only there for about 8 hours. It was clean and very nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable. The only issue I had was not receiving my check in information until I asked for it several times.

This lovely apartment is five minutes across the Mississippi by ferry from the French Quarter. I am a registered host with New Orleans and my permit number is 18STR-05677. Enjoy downtown New Orleans has to offer and come back to a cozy and safe neighborhood and home. You’ll love my place because of new amenities, quiet oak-lined streets, porch and backyard access. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
This is one half of a 106 year old home originally built in 1907. I just finished completing extensive work in the apartment including refinishing the floors to their original pine. The house still includes many of its original features including transoms over the doors. It is a shotgun style apartment, typical to New Orleans, in that all of the rooms are interconnected. The street is beautiful and lined with hundred year old Oak trees. The trees are also a nesting ground for herons! The bedrooms are private but you would have to walk through the house to get to the bathroom. I live on the other side of the home and love to meet people from all over the world. So feel free to ask me for restaurant/ bar/ outings suggestions! The home is cozy but it does not include central AC and heating. There are space heaters however and window units for the AC. The kitchen is newly renovated and has all the appliances needed. Same goes for the bathroom! Also please enjoy the art in the second room of the home in particular! My boyfriend Duane is a collage artist and works out of that space when it is not being rented for travelers. The porch overlooks the only oak tree lined street in Algiers Point. There is a nice patio in the backyard if you would like to sit outside. Washer and dryer is available in the back shed for your use. It's a cozy home, the neighborhood is safe to walk around in at night and only five minutes from the French Quarter by ferry!
Algiers Point is probably one of the prettiest neighborhoods in the city to walk around in. There are beautiful views of the river, historic homes, treelined streets. It's idyllic. There are also a handful of bars in the neighborhood you can check out to get a taste of some of the characters that live here. Expect to run into a ton of older artists and musicians.
  • First of all, Mari was a great communicator! She was kind and accommodating. Her home is beautiful and tastefully decorated. It's is spacious and full of additional blankets and towels. We stayed with our 3 kids aged 4 to 10. We loved the fact that there was no tv or but computers but there is Wi-Fi connection if needed. Seriously a nice tech break. The neighborhood is safe and near the ferry. We drive everywhere... It was about a 15 minute drive into the French Quarter and an 18 minute drive to the Garden District. It is centrally located and quiet. The beds were comfy and we never felt crowded. We cooked breakfast each morning and had plenty of space for food storage in the fridge. The air conditioners work well and were greatly appreciated on the hot humid summer days if our stay. We recommend Mari's place to anyone considering it. It is my favorite place out of my 4 airbnb NO LA stays.

    Diana2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • The street Mari's house is on is the whole reason I wantes to Visit NOLA. Beautiful, lush, green paradise.

    Jamie2017-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Located in a quiet and quaint neighborhood. Local restaurants and watering holes were fun! The ferry was easy and cheap. It’s very punctual!

    Mary2018-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Mari's apartment is so cute. The neighborhood is quite and safe. The check in and out was super easy. The apartment was super clean. Mari communicated really well with us. Before and after we got there. The drive from the apartment to the French Quarter took us about 10-15mins. We would rebook again to stay with Mari if there was availability. She was great.

    Arnita2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space, amazing decor. Location is a quaint neighborhood community a 10 min walk from the $2 ferry into the french quarter. Had a wonderful time and really enjoyed Ourselves.

    Gabby2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, very nice location! $12 Uber to the French Quarter or a $2 ferry ride (about a 15 min walk to the ferry). This is a shotgun style home, if privacy is a big requirement for you this wouldn't be the best. Other than that it's a great spot!

    Andrew2017-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great 3 days at Mari's house! It was nicely furnished and cozy. Really cool how traditional the layout of the house was!

    Jaime2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great communication with Mari! She was very helpful and understanding of anything we needed. This is a great location a little bit away from all the hustle of NOLA! A quick ferry ride or a $7 lyft ride gets you right into the city. A great place for a weekend getaway!

This cute 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment truly feels like an oasis. Let it be your refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is located in Treme on Bayou Road, near the famed French Quarter. Perfect for Jazz Fest and other events. Book today!
Our apartment is located in a historic home. You'll appreciate the beauty of the original floors and finishes. The furnishings are both comfortable and functional, while honoring the style of the home. We can comfortably accommodate two people, although a third person could definitely sleep on the couch.
You'll love the neighborhood. Tremé is a culturally rich area, full of gorgeous architecture and a deep musical tradition. It's an easy walk to the French Quarter and famed Congo Square. Also nearby is St. Louis Cemetary #1, resting place of Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau.
  • Truedell was amazing! Incredibly accommodating. The apartment was just as advertised, if not even better. This is a great location, clean beautiful apartment and we already want to go back.

  • Just Beautiful! The listing was more than I expected (the photos are true of the apartment). On a scale of 1 to 10, it is a 10 hands down! We were pleased with our stay and the service the host (Brandon/Michele) provided to us was great. I would recommend Boutique Apartment to others.I will surely return to Boutique Apartment for accommodations during future visits to New Orleans.

  • My wife and I spent three fantastic nights in this apartment. It was spacious, well appointed, and comfortable. The apartment is located on the top floor of a gorgeous historic home. If we had any questions our host was easy to reach. We would definitely stay here again- In fact, we intend too!

    Amber-Marie2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment - very comfortable. Excellent aircon. Location is pretty good - walking distance to Frenchman's and easy taxi or Uber home. Hosts are lovely and welcoming as are the neighbours in Treme.

  • We came to town for the Ironman with not much knowledge of what else to do while in New Orleans. We were easily accommodated with flexible check in and check out times. Upon arrival, Brandon gave us a tour of the place and gave us many suggestions on other things to see and do. We were a short walk from the French Quarter which allowed for a quite nights sleep, but was still a close enough walk to great restaurants, shopping, and sightseeing. The apartment was beautiful and cozy, with lots of great details. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town... Such a pleasant stay.

    Tasha2014-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Brandon’s home was a great respite in Treme. Clean, beautifully decorated apartment in a safe, friendly area with new cafes and nightlife. Highly recommend.

  • Cozy and quiet! Very relaxing. Our host gave great advice on where to go and the safest ways to travel by.

  • It was an unexpected gem. It was perfect for an overnight in the city. Gwen was a fantastic and responsive host. The bed was super loud, so anytime weight was adjusted it squeaked, but one doesn't visit NOLA to sleep.

    Emma2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Gwen is a very sweet lady and her home is absolutely beautiful! Super neat place and in a decent location!

    Erin2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • Ms. Gwen was so nice great host would absolutely recommended

    Eliana2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Ms. Gwen was an absolute delight! The home itself was breathtaking- we felt like we were staying in a private opulent museum! Our room was cozy and it was great to have a personal bath attached. Staying here was a highlight of our trip to New Orleans.

    Lauren2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We did not end up staying overnight. The place must have been beautiful in it’s heyday but has not been maintained. The photos do not show what the house looks like currently. The home was not very clean. Very dusty and the floors hadn’t been swept or mopped in quite some time. When we arrived the door knobs were missing on the front door and the downstairs bathroom. Gwen herself seemed nice but was not to attentive and didn’t seem concerned about the state of her house. The neighborhood was a little sketchy and we were concerned about leaving the vehicle parked there overnight. The location was described as a reasonable walking distance to the quarter and we didn’t not find that to be true.

    Shannon2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The room is in a big house with several rooms for rent. It is in a neighborhood which is probably not considered the best but we didn't have any problems and it is in walking distance to the French quarter which is really helpful as parking charges are high there. The room is small but clean and the bed is soooooo comfy. It was good to stay there for us.

Victorian-style 100+ year old house on Frenchmen Street -- home of the best collection of jazz clubs in New Orleans -- and still only blocks from the French Quarter.
ROSE ROOM Frenchmen House is my home. I share it with my dog, Charles (a huge, cuddly golden retriever), Molly (king of the feline world), and my airbnb guests. I have three guest rooms. The house retains the architectural details that make New Orleans homes interesting and beautiful -- 13 ft. ceilings, transom windows, original wood floors, and double parlor with functioning pocket doors. Very few renovations have altered this original home, and its charm represents the homes of its era. The house is a side-hall shotgun, so unlike a traditional shotgun, one does not have to walk thru each room to get to the next. Great backyard for entertaining -- very private courtyard setting. Smoking is allowed in the backyard. PARKING: Easy on street parking, no meters, no time restrictions and always spaces available on my block.
I love that my neighborhood is just far enough away from the hubbub to be (relatively) quiet and actually be able to park a car, yet close enough to be in the midst of it all with a very short walk.
  • Great Location!!! Nice Big Comfortable Room!!! Interesting host!!!

    margaret2012-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay at the Frenchmen House . The room and house were absolutely gorgeous and Joanne and Robert were very welcoming. I would definitely stay there again if I came to New Orleans!

    Sarah2013-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne and Robert had a beautiful home that made us feel extremely comfortable and at ease. Unfortunelty we couldn't stay for More than one night but we loved the location of it and the fact that their home was right behind a Walgreens! Making our stay super easy to get everything we needed! Would definitely recommend this to our friends and family!

    Tessa2012-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, great hosts, great location! Frenchmen St. is very close with all the great live shows and so is the French Quarter. Jo and Robert are very nice and cool hosts. Oh and the beds are very confortable! Thank you!

  • The house is in a brilliant location on Frenchmen's St, walking distance to the best Jazz clubs and food in New Orleans. Try the Spotted Cat, Maison and Coop's. Joanne and Robert are great hosts, very laid back and helpful. The house is both lovely and clean. Thanks guys :)

    Victoria2013-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, cozy house, and super-easy check-in and out! And it was fantastic having some feline and canine company. We actually wished Robert had been around, too. We would definitely come here again.

Staying at Georgia's Maison Marais was an incredible experience. The home was warm and well appointed. Georgia met us with coffee in hand and plenty of knowledge about the surrounding neighborhood and great spots for food and drink. I truly felt at home during our five night stay and can't wait for the next trip to New Orleans!

April and Ken were great! The apartment is amazing and unique. This was a really good first AirBnB experience. I wasn't really sure I wanted to use AirBnB, but my sister insisted and I am really glad! This was the perfect way to see New Orleans, the perfect location and the bikes were a great way to get around and work off some of the calories consumed by the amazing food we ate. April sent us reminders on info we needed, provided lists of restaurants and recommendations on where to eat and if we needed anything, they were there. When we arrived, we had a bottle of wine waiting for us (this was almost the best part of the trip , being a wino!) and would definitely stay here again.
