Just booked in Bellingham
We designed the Guest House for friends and family and we love sharing the space with people traveling to Bellingham. Within walking distance of both Western Washington University and downtown Bellingham--both are within a mile--the Guest House is a convenient, private and affordable option when visiting the City of Subdued Excitement. Please note that the Guest House is quite small (200sf), it has a queen bed in the loft and a full sized futon on the main floor.
This small space (200sf) is great for an affordable, private stay in Bellingham. We offer a queen bed in the loft and a full sized futon couch/bed on the main floor. Therefore, the space can accommodate four, but is not ideal as the space is small. We do offer a fridge on the porch and a coffee pot, but there is NO kitchen. Guests should also be aware that the lofted bed has sturdy, ladderesque stairs. However, there is not a lot of head room in the loft and it can be difficult to navigate especially if you are elderly or disabled or exceptionally tall. If you are not comfortable with stairs we can certainly set up the futon or we recommend finding more suitable accommodations.
The best part of the neighborhood (York) is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown Bellingham and Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying Bellingham. Bellingham has also become a destination for craft beer with about 15 breweries and several tap houses--many are located less than a mile from the Guest House. You should also note that the neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal University student energy.
  • This place is adorable! The pictures don't do it justice. It's close to downtown and all kinds of food. We will likely be back in the summer time.

  • Tucked behind their home, Chris and Amy's cottage was a great place for us to stay in Bellingham. Located on a quiet street, the porch faces the private back yard with a beautiful trellis and flowers. The bed and sheets were really comfortable, the wifi was fast, and the water pressure in the shower felt great. Check-in was easy and they were flexible when we were unexpectedly delayed. Thanks for the great stay!

    Hilary2018-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect place to crash! Nice little touches here and there, Chris and Amy make the place a perfect stop to get a good nights sleep, while being entertained!

    Kelley2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • If you are up in Bellingham for a weekend, definitely stay here! Chris and Amy’s Place, while petite, is darling and had everything we needed (including a super comfy bed). Downtown is a short 15 minute walk away, so you are close to everything. Chris and Amy were fast to respond so you are never left in limbo. We especially loved sitting on the porch with some complimentary beverages.

    Hannah2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Small but comfortable. Well located to easily get around Bellingham.

    Greg2018-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy are excellent Airbnb hosts. The place was private and compact but had everything we needed right down to a refreshing beverage cold in the fridge and fine coffee and tea in the morning. It was a welcome urban respite for two weary campers ready for a night under a solid roof and a restaurant meal Clean and comfortable. Great location for walking downtown. Thanks!

    Amy2018-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The shed is cute, functional and comfortable.

    Sarah2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little place for a weekend in B'ham! The loft bed and the futon are both quite comfy (I can vouch for both personally) and the space was adorable! It is not a space for social gatherings, it is small, but that fit my needs perfectly and is more than adequate for the price and the great location! I completely recommend!

The Pleasant Bay Lookout is a private room with a spectacular view, nestled in the trees. Guests access our family's home (where we live full time) for kitchen, bathroom, living room, hot tub, and other household amenities. We feel fortunate to welcome guests to this tucked-away oasis of peace and beauty. Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us - we only accept requests from those with complete profiles who let us know they've read our entire listing description. Thank you!
The Pleasant Bay Lookout is nestled in a forest overlooking the Salish Sea. Its stunning beauty and simplicity have been showcased widely, including on Airbnb's Instagram, in local magazines and on many websites. The Lookout is simple: one room (121 square feet) with a comfortable recliner, a modern sofa that converts to a bed, a glass wall with a breathtaking view, and a deck to experience the sound of the sea, songbirds and sun, rain and shifting clouds firsthand. As one guest said: "The space is small in footage but huge on character and coolness. The back wall is all glass. It leads out to a deck and offers a beautiful view of the woods and the bay. The view makes the whole room feel as big as the whole out of doors." We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Lookout reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. There is a branched tree from our property to hang your coat, a live edge coffee table made by Peter, and thoughtfully chosen art on the walls. In the main house - which you'll share with us, as we live there full time - you'll eat at a handcrafted breakfast bar, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. Note that there is no bathroom in the Lookout - it's a 40 second walk to the bathroom in the house, which is open 24/7 for your use. The common trend for visitors to the Lookout is to arrive and cast off any plans they have: most seem to fall into the state described in Italian as "La Dolce Far Niente - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing." The main house is a 30 second walk from the Lookout. We live in the house, and are grateful to share it with Lookout guests from all over the world. Though fifty years old, it is comfortably modern, built on a forested bluff above a picturesque bay with a simple design and architecture that integrates with its surroundings. Most walls of the house are made of glass, making a moving painting with the flight of birds, trees dancing in the wind, moonlight and dappled sunlight - it truly is a feast for the senses. The sensory delight increases when you go outside the Lookout or house – the forest is alive with songbirds, shorebirds, raptors and peekaboo views. Raccoon and deer wander through, and Chuckanut Mountain trails and beaches are a short walk, bike ride, paddle or drive away. There are many options for nature excursions and adventures right outside our door. The Pleasant Bay Lookout is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and those who want simple accommodations in a beautiful natural setting. • Note that the Lookout and our home are nestled in the trees, but not built IN a tree like a typical treehouse. • Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us, so please let us know you've read our entire listing description and understand the arrangement between Lookout and main house when you send a booking request. Thank you!
With Chuckanut Mountain behind us and the Salish Sea in front, hikers, bikers, and kayakers will find easy access to all three activities from the studio. The Interurban Trail is just up the road. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on a forested trail overlooking the sea. Launching a boat from a nearby area will bring you to a beautiful coastline, with Chuckanut Island as the gem of Chuckanut Bay. For years, our family has been the caretakers of this special place, owned by the Nature Conservancy. The world renowned beauty of Chuckanut Drive is moments away – enjoy it by bicycle or car. The quaint village-within-the-city of Fairhaven is 10 minutes and downtown Bellingham is 20 minutes by car (if you lack a vehicle, we're happy to carpool the short distance to town as we're able). The Skagit Valley is just 20 minutes south along Chuckanut Drive. Venturing east, you can reach the glorious mountains, rivers, and waterfalls of the North Cascades in just over an hour. Driving west, you can be on a ferry to the pristine San Juan islands in under an hour. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and enjoy a picnic on a beach in the same day! The Chuckanut area and Bellingham region are an outdoor recreation and nature lovers' paradise. We're the Northwest epicenter for sea, mountain, lake, and river activities, as well as island hopping and visiting local farms of every variety (vineyards, vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy). If you'd prefer a more urban vacation, Bellingham has great markets, diverse shopping opportunities, varied restaurants and nightlife, great local breweries, and one of the most beautiful university campuses in Washington state. We're situated equidistant to Vancouver BC and Seattle, so big city attractions are just a 90 minute drive away.
  • Aimee and Peter were very communicative right off the boat, making sure we knew how to get there, everything involved with staying at the airbnb, things to do in the area etc. The space itself is one of a kind, a serene and unique little tree house literally in the woods, with the most fantastic view. Aimee and Peter are very welcoming and open. They lust us use their hot tub and kitchen as if they had known us for a long time. The bathroom is located just a few feet away in their home. The treehouse is literally just that, like a treehouse with no bathroom or mini fridge inside, but is definitely worth the experience of being in nature. There is a train that comes by and can be a bit loud at night, but that is all part of the experience... My husband and I hiked to the beach and came back and had wine and dinner on the balcony. I do recommend bringing your own food or making the short drive to the amazing co-op in town.

  • The Frazier's are always welcoming and make a visit to their wonderful home a joyous occasion. It is the kind of place that you look forward to seeing again and telling friends and family about. This was not our first visit and hopefully not our last.

    Joshua2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I stayed at the Pleasant Bay Lookout, our first airbnb experience. It's a beautiful location, tucked into the trees, with really minimal artificial light. Aimee and Peter were incredible hosts and actually spent a good amount of time talking with my wife and I, just sharing their personal stories and passions. We felt like we had a great amount of privacy in the lookout, yet were welcomed into the communal living environment that Aimee and Peter create in their home.

    Mark2014-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a great space! This place truly allows you to unplug and recharge your batteries. I think Pleasant Bay Lookout is even better than described and Aimee and Peter are just delightful. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

    Tucker2016-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property with an amazing view. Friendly hosts too! Thanks!

    Matt2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our short stay at the lookout was amazing. The room itself is perfect and quaint with a beautiful view of the bay. It was such a pleasure to meet Amie! Their home and property are nothing short of incredible, and a quick easy drive into Bellingham- or a 17-25 dollar uber ride. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back! Thank you Amie! Wish we could have chatted longer!

    Kayla2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was the most incredible experience we have ever had using Airbnb. Aimee and Peter are such fantastic hosts and their property is just a little slice of heaven. They are very comfortable sharing their wonderful house and you should be too! I highly recommend staying in the lookout and plan to do so soon. Once you see their property and the privacy and beauty of the area.. you'll understand. Couldn't rate these people, the experience and the beautiful house highly enough!

    Nick2017-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter could not have been more welcoming. They were very helpful in helping me learn about Bellingham and the surrounding area. Very secluded and cozy spot. They were very good about sharing their home with me, as well.

  • Heather's place is awesome! Comfortable, cozy and very clean! You feel like you are in the woods with all the windows and the pine trees. We highly recommend it!

    Jane2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Heather was a great hostess! She had the hot tub heated up for us before we arrived, and the room is stocked with anything you might need while you're away from home :) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • The cottage is so well laid out and feels like home. Nice big bathroom, living and eating space and a cozy bed. Big windows that look out onto the inviting backyard with outdoor sofas and a fire-pit and hot tub. Convenient location to WWU and downtown. Great communication. I look forward to staying again.

  • Heathers place was comfortable and clean. Heather was very responsive to all communication. One thing to note, there is a dog at this property. Probably a great pup if you know it, but definitely intimidating for strangers, especially if you aren’t 100% comfortable with dogs.

A little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled creek side with a wide view of the bay. A huge garden to explore and graze from, cozy greenhouse, chicken tree house for the hens, kayaks to paddle into the bay, private hot tub, large fire pit, and BBQ.
This is a classy little cottage in Chuckanut Village, nestled literally creek side. This dynamic hangout beckons you to kick up your feet in the eclectic garden with curvy raised beds and a chicken tree house. We also have a gorgeous little greenhouse built from mostly up-cycled materials. Come collect your own eggs and graze from the garden, and stay a while. Hot tub and >5 kayaks available. We list the Hobbit House currently as a two night minimum stay. However, occasionally we have single nights left available, and you CAN make a request for those. We do have an upcharge of $30 for those single nights to cover for the extra cleaning. The cottage echos the designer main house, connected by boardwalk and lovely private garden. Hostess is a horticulturalist who loves to share creative thoughts. Watch the tides change, and smell the salt air, pick some greens for your salad from the garden and treat your palate to some fresh flavors. This retreat is ideal for one or two guests, as there is just one queen-size bed. Children are welcome as well, but please note that this space is small-- we call it the Hobbit House for a reason!-- and it is not child-proofed. The Hobbit House has a nice little galley (kitchen) inside with a mini fridge, two-burner hot plate, and toaster/convection oven. The kitchen is stocked with fresh eggs from our chickens, coffee & tea with all the fixings, a few other breakfast goodies, and cooking essentials (spices, olive oil, etc.) all included in the price of your visit! We appreciate if you eat red meat to BBQ it outside in the outdoor kitchen area adjacent to the Hobbit House. This small cedar building also houses the shower, which has a limited hot water tank. Please note that showers must be kept short! We provide environmentally friendly shower products for you to use, as the water drains into the garden. The space feels very beachy/nautical. Please note that we have a composting toilet. We have a high sensitivity to this marine environment and our mutual stewardship of this special retreat.
Incredible little historic village setting. Old and young, a blend of very friendly, mellow dog lovers.
  • Had a great time with my girlfriend at this cabin. It was quaint and while definitely small still had everything we needed. The hosts were nice and stayed out of our way. Would recommend this to anyone :)

    Angelo2014-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely amazing, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend getaway.

    Tanner2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • The description for The Hobbit House was very accurate. We enjoyed our stay there. We love staying in unique places like this and enjoyed the setting a lot! Very cute cottage! The setting on the bay, surrounded by the vegetable & flower gardens, woods & creek was so peaceful and relaxing and private! Perfct for 2 people. Would have loved to use the kayaks or rowboats, but our timing and the weather didn't jive. The hot tub was an extra treat! The area has so much to do: enjoy the parks and hike, go explore along Chuckanut Drive, check out the restaurants, and the The Chuckanut Brewery, and Boundary Bay Brewery. In neighboring towns, you'll find farmers' markets, the Rhody Cafe, bakeries, etc. We went to Whidbey Island and explored & went to the Amiraldty Head Lighthouse, went on the Deception Pass Boat Tour (jet boat), etc. Alas, the composting toilet may not be for everyone, but we had actually been wanting to try out an indoor composting toilet, to see if we wanted to buy one for a tiny cottage we have. Also the shower is in a separate building and it is hard to keep your clothes from getting wet, so my hint is to use the robes that are provided and plan on dressing after you get back in the cottage, instead.

    Janice2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit House is everything that it promises. I was lucky to have sunny weather, but the one time it rained, the cottage was so cozy and warm and comfy. The compost toilet is a breeze really, and it a good opportunity to raise awareness about why a teeny inconvenience is so powerfully environmentally wise. Alison is a great hostess and made me feel very welcome. Her garden kept me in a constant supply of the most delicious little tomatoes ever. One thing: the shower is in the house; that was a little hard for me because i did not want to invade her private space, but it was MY issue, Alison did everything to help a non -neurotic person feel just fine about it .:)

    Casey2013-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Love the hideaway. Love the view from the bed, to the lef the stream and straight ahead the estuary. Love the hot tub. Love the chickens. Love the hummingbirds and dragonflies. Love Sabrina the cat and Nico the dog. Love the kayaks during high tide. Love the walks during low tide. Love the quiet. Love the garden. Love the piece of heaven that Alison has made with her home.

    Randy2014-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beyond Exquisite!!! We felt so welcomed and enthralled with this beautiful tiny retreat with a giant view!!! Home chickens made our eggs for breakfast, an hot tub on the deck with a view of the moon over the water, the sound of the stream trickling by, beautiful furniture and everywhere to look, something inspiring to see. I live in a tiny cottage myself, with hens and a composting toilet, so I felt so at home! Thank you so much!!!!

    Kristina2015-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This little gem was an amazing find just outside of Bellingham, minutes away from downtown Fairhaven. The property was absolutely gorgeous with the most incredible creek flowing right beside the hut. The cottage was adorable. The bed was very comfy, the place was clean, and the hot tub was a great addition. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

    Erica2015-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Alison was extremely welcoming and the Hobbit House was the perfect weekend getaway. The location is perfect and the grounds are picturesque. I'll absolutely recommend Alison's place to friends and family (and hope to be back myself soon)!

Amy and I have recently updated this turn of the century, 800+ sf character home. The Bungalow is located within walking distance of both WWU (1 mile) and downtown Bellingham (1 mile) and the neighborhood boasts several great breweries and dining options. The bungalow is located on a dead end, single-family zoned street and is a great option for someone looking for a private, centrally located and affordable neighborhood place to stay while visiting Bellingham.
This house is a turn of the century character home in the York neighborhood. We have relished the opportunity to fix it up. Major updates have been made to the roof and electrical. I installed new hardwood to the foyer, living room, bedroom #2 and the dining room. Both the exterior and interior have fresh coats of paint and I replaced the front porch. The kitchen could use an update but is clean and has fully functional appliances and is stocked with everything you need to cook. Sorry, no dishwasher.
The best part about York neighborhood is that it is in close proximity to everything. We are within walking distance to downtown bellingham or Western campus (both are within a mile). There are also a couple neighborhood diners/pubs that are great places to unwind while enjoying bellingham. The neighborhood is well represented by University students who occasionally exhibit normal university student energy.
  • We loved our stay - Chris and Amy have made many great touches to this house to make it comfortable for travelers. The beds and couch/chairs were super comfy. The TV is set up with Netflix and Amazon instant video. They had coffee and tea and some fresh fruit and snacks sitting out for us. The location was super convenient to downtown and lots of restaurants. We can't recommend this place highly enough and we will definitely stay again on our next trip to Bellingham.

    Molly2016-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Amy's place was perfect for the four of us. It was a great location for walking into town to explore breweries. It was a great deal and we had a lovely stay!

    Sarah2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • I had an excellent time at Chris and Amy's place! The location was perfect for us, as was the price for an entire home. The wifi works great, the kitchen is decently stocked, and the gas fireplace was fantastic for the colder evenings. We would definitely stay again!

    Camielle2017-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little house with comfy beds and all the right amenities. We were there in the cold rainy winter and the gas fireplace provides a welcoming touch. The neighborhood is quiet but central, parking is easy, the wifi is great and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a home in Bellingham.

    Sarah2017-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • chris & amy were super responsive & have created a charming & welcoming place with so many thoughtful touches- a bowl of candy & fruit & granola bars & tea & coffee, (much appreciated after our long trek from airport, late arrival & early departure for a college tour.) Also they provide extra toothbrushes, hair dryer, lots of cozy throw blankets & the heater/ fireplace was such a special treat. And a bathtub!! Everything was spotlessly clean, We wish we could've stayed longer!

    Mary Beth2017-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We completely enjoyed our stay here... cute and comfy!!!

    Sarah2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this little house! The neighborhood is super quiet and safe feeling. The house is comfortable and loaded with amenities. Enjoyed an evening of live music at the Green Frog (within 1 mile of the Bungalow) who also serves the best grilled cheese sandwiches ever. The next morning we sipped coffee at the house, relaxed, checked email and then had lunch at a charming Peruvian sandwich shop (also within one mile). . . Cafe Rumba. Bellingham is loaded with small town charm. The bungalow was a perfect home base.

    Catharine2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Decided to drive up to Bellingham at the last minute and Chris and Amy were super flexible and were able to host us! Quick response and got right in after getting in to town. Lovely home, great place to spend the night! Everything was beautifully set up and very comfortable!

Gorgeous modern studio in a forested setting, this is a unique space with thoughtful design. Seashore and mountain trails are right outside the door, & the Studio is a ten minute drive from Bellingham. Our special place has offered a base for adventure, rejuvenation and re-connection and provided "Il Dolce Far Niente" - The Sweetness of Doing Nothing. Meeting accurate expectations is important to us, so please read our entire listing description before you send a booking request. Thank you!
Note: Meeting accurate expectations is very important to us, so please read our entire listing description before you send a booking request. Thank you! The Seaside Forest Studio shares the property with our home, and began as an artist's studio, every aspect custom designed. From the loft bed surrounded by windows, to the fully equipped kitchen, slate-tiled shower and red brick floors, everything was added with careful thought. This is a unique space! The Studio is 512 square feet with an added 60 feet in the sleeping area above. There is a queen-sized bed in a hanging loft, best for those comfortable climbing a ladder up and down, to sleep surrounded by windows and trees on all sides. There is also a Euro-lounger/sofa in the main room that folds into a comfortable full size bed, with a memory foam topper. The main room has a window seat, as well as a custom reading nook with games for all ages stored below. Peter's handmade beautiful, live-edge cedar table seats four (five, if you'd like). The kitchen is fully equipped with sink, stove, oven, refrigerator, and cooking implements. The bath has a full shower, beautifully tiled. The studio has both electric heat and a wood stove. There are two entryways, with a curved wood deck at the front entrance (and a large granite boulder to sit on as well). Parking is just outside the back door. We care about beauty, connection, real things, and the Studio reflects that; much of its features were made by us or locally sourced. You'll eat at Peter's table, hang your coat on a fir tree we found in our woods, use Aimee's homemade soap in the shower, see our art on the walls, sleep in a loft built by a dear friend, and enjoy a fire with wood from our property. A short walk down the driveway or steep beach trail offers views of both Chuckanut and Pleasant Bays (we live on a point, so there is water on both sides). Just up a winding brick path, you'll find the hot tub (older design, very simple) behind our house, on a deck under tall fir trees with peekaboo views of the water. Our property is a haven for wildlife: the studio is surrounded by a forest that's home to many kinds of birds, including raptors, owls, and songbirds. Raccoons and deer wander through, and we're close to the seashore where seals swim, herons squawk, and crabs scuttle under eelgrass forests. The Studio shares the forest with our home, so we're available for questions and concerns. Our house is situated on a knoll overlooking the water, while the studio is in the forest just below. The two structures are separated by a driveway and woods, out of sight of each other. We do share a common driveway, our cars blocked from the Studio's view by a neatly stacked woodpile. The Studio has many windows (with blinds), and we do drive and/or walk past the Studio when coming & going, . The Seaside Forest Studio is ideal for nature lovers, outdoor adventurers, and those who want unique accommodation in a beautiful natural setting.
With Chuckanut Mountain behind us and the Salish Sea in front, hikers, bikers, and kayakers will find easy access to all three activities from the studio. The Interurban Trail is just up the road. Heading south on the Interurban you'll reach the trails, lakes and seashore of 2683-acre Larrabee State Park in five minutes; walking north, you can stroll or bike five miles to town if you'd like, all on this forested trail overlooking the sea. Paddling west in a kayak you'll reach Chuckanut Island in 20 minutes. Our family have been the caretakers of this special place, owned by the Nature Conservancy, for years. The world renowned beauty of Chuckanut Drive is moments away – enjoy it by bicycle or car. Fairhaven is 10 minutes and downtown Bellingham is 20 minutes by car. If you'd like, you can touch a glacier and explore an island in the same day!
  • My fiance and I spent 3 nights at the Chuckanut Seaside Forest Studio, and we highly recommend it! The apartment is well designed and spacious with all necessary amenities. Beautiful mountain hikes are a 5-minute walk from the apartment, and Mt. Baker is ~1 hour drive away. The apartment is also a 5-minute drive away from Bellingham. Aimee was very welcoming and gave us detailed information on hikes and other activities in the area.

  • My experience at this beautiful getaway was just what I was looking for. Its private, quiet, cozy and comfortable. Aimee and Peter have gone out if their way to make their guests feel at home. I will definitely love to come back again.

    Michelle2014-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing and peaceful atmosphere! Private escape from busy life and could not have asked for more gracious hosts. The studio was amazing with every nook architected thoughtfully. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

    Jared2015-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous time at Aimee and Peter's place and it may be the best AirBnB experience we've had. We loved how it was tucked into the woods. The loftbed makes you feel like you're in a nest complete with birdsong surrounding you and we really enjoyed the sound the train running by every now and then. We can't recommend staying in this special place enough.

    Robin2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • The studio cabin was beautiful and every foot of space was well utilized. We had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway weekend, and had fun exploring the Chuckanut area and nearby Bellingham. We'd like to come back in the summer!

    Rachel2015-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely little studio. We loved being so close to the bay, and Aimee was a sweet and gracious host.

    Mingni2016-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Aimee and Peter's studio is just amazingly perfect for a getaway! Aimee welcomed us upon arrival, had a fire going, and showed us around. We felt incredibly comfortable and ready to relax. We really can't wait to make another trip and bring our kids with us next time. The studio seems worlds away from day-to-day life, but is close enough to the fun city of Bellingham that you can run into town for a bite to eat, to hit one of the many breweries in town, or just make a quick run to the store. There are also a few upscale dining options right on Chuckanut that are worth a try. (We hit the Oyster Bar for lunch. Very delicious!)

  • Great spot! Great location! Great hosts! Loved the loud trains! Wish I could have recorded it. Thank you!

The NOMAD'S NEST is a charming private studio with a kitchenette, bathroom, & communal hot tub. It is an eco-friendly & globally inspired space entirely crafted by us with thoughtful touches throughout. Our guests often comment that it has been their favorite airbnb experience. We welcome nomadic travelers from across the globe! Please note that you climb a flight of stairs to reach it. We charge an additional one time fee of $25 if you require the set up of the sofa bed.
Thoughtfully custom built & decorated by us. We sourced our local RE-Store for materials, our nomadic adventures, & creativity. Guests have described our space by using the word “hygge,” a Danish term defined as “a quality of coziness and comfort that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being.” Pronounced “hoo-guh,” the word has no direct translation in English, though “cozy” comes close. We think this word perfectly captures what we strive for. The Nest provides a cozy retreat for a couple or solo traveler. It can also accommodate a third adult/child on a sofa bed (1 x set up fee of $25).
Sunnyland voted BEST neighborhood in Bellingham by the Cascadia Weekly. Our neighborhood, while not fancy, is funky, artsy, and low-key! That is why we love it. A few things that put us on the "best" neighborhood list are: Trader Joe's (groceries), Kulshan Brewery (best IPA), The Home Skillet (voted best breakfast), & the Sunnyland Stomp (Neighborhood Art Walk in July).
  • Oh my goodness, where to start? We had the most amazing time at the Nomad's Nest. It was our home away from home during our time in Bellingham. It had all the comforts of home, and far more luxuries. Kerri and Ant were the most gracious and caring hosts, and the hot tub was a wonderful treat. We cannot say enough about this fantastic studio and great experience. We will definitely be back, and recommend this space to all who are travelling through Belllingham.

    Anne2014-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful experience! Above and beyond hospitality and amenities. Great communication and prompt responses. Keri and Ant were the hosts from an alternate universe where everything is perfect and they know what you want even better than you do.

    Rae2015-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Accurate listing. Cute comfortable place. Nice people.

    New2015-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay. Nice room, comfy bed, walking distance to some stores and restaurants. Lots of maps and info on what to do in town. Would stay again.

    Emily2014-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Nomad's Nest was so homey, we had an almost overwhelming desire to live there. The space was very thoughtful and detailed with every comfort in mind. It is a very good place to stay if you like to meditate on simplicity, beauty and true happiness. We liked the neighborhood and the easy walk to downtown. Quiet!

    Steve2015-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time at the Nomad's Nest. Everything was just as described and better. There are so many personal touches, we felt spoiled. The neighborhood is very nice, even though we didn't walk much as it was a bit stormy. Keri welcomed us warmly and gave us a great dining tip. We loved dinner at My Shantis in Canada. :-) What a fancy experience it was for my daughter. I think she will forever remember her coming of age trip and this little place. We sure hope to come back some time. :-)

    Marion2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived in Bellingham early on Saturday and were pleasantly surprised with permission for a little bit earlier of a checkin! It was so nice to come in and get situated as soon as we got there! Not only was Keri there to greet us, she kiddy showed us around and gave us kind instructions for the house and hot tub! Once you enter the Nest, you'll instantly fall in love with the nomadic/eclectic decorations and the feeling of warmth, comfort and relaxation! Anything you could need is provided in very clearly marked places and bins, and knowing the hosts are so close gives you a a peace of mind if you have a question about town or need anything! Our night away was exceedingly perfect and we look forward to coming back!

    Calley2016-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This little gem is perfect in every way. From the amenities to the creative way the studio is designed! I had an amazing time and would definitely come back for another visit!

  • Nice spacious room in a quiet neighborhood. Exceedingly clean with comfortable big bedroom and a nice, modern bathroom. Mini-kitchen in room with fridge and coffee maker. Our hostess was lovely and sent us off with fruit from the trees in her yard.

  • We had a very quick stay at Laurie's while moving our child in for college. Laurie's place was clean and spacious for the 3 of us. Wish we had time to sit out on the little deck as it looked very inviting.

    Rachel2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie was very nice! She took me and three of my friends in on very short notice! The room is very spacious and beautiful! Thanks again Laurie!

  • Good location, good value, ho for it.

    Sturgis2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I had a comfortable stay. We particularly enjoyed the deck and the gorgeous sunsets seen from there. A nice variety of food items for breakfast each day. Also enjoyed the fragrance of the fresh flowers.

    Jennifer2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The room is much smaller than it looks. It said it was good for 6 people, but definitely better for 3 or 4. But it’s in a great location!

    Ariana2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and comfortable over-garage studio in quiet but close-in Bellingham neighborhood. Laurie was responsive and available but not intrusive. This felt like a private studio even though technically it is attached to the main house. And it's an easy 15-20 minute walk to the heart of downtown. We would definitely stay here again.

    Emily2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. Very easy and convenient. We couldn't find a check out guide though, and I am very used to specific cleaning instructions for airbnbs, so hopefully we didn't mess that up. Otherwise a great stay!

The "Aloha Suite" is the name we have given our guest room attached to the south end of our garage. It is a separate building near our home and shop buildings. The room's decor is tropical, with, we hope, the spirit of "aloha" present.
When our home was being built, we lived in the "Aloha Suite", a separate space on the south end of our garage. Since we moved into our home, the suite has been a haven for many guests.(URL HIDDEN)In the main room there are: a comfortable queen sized bed, reading chair, small dining table and chairs, bookshelves with reading material of local and travel interest, yoga mat, and TV with DISH satellite channels (and instructions), a Blu-ray player(URL HIDDEN) In the bathroom there is a shower; and towels and robes are provided. The "kitchenette": This nook in the corner of the main room contains a small refrigerator/freezer, glasses and dishes, basic food preparation items, electric tea kettle, "personal" blender, a choice of two coffee makers, a wide slot toaster, and a microwave. It is not a true kitchen equipped for lots of cooking and dish washing. We are happy to provide the use of our oven and to wash your dishes as needed. There is a laundry sink in the garage for washing large items. We have a barbecue grill on the porch that you may use. It is possible to move the furniture to accommodate a sleeping pad for another person or a baby bed. We have space outside for pitching a tent as well. On request, we can provide an iron and ironing board. We also have a selection of movies and board games you are welcome to borrow.
We live in a quiet, wooded rural area on a road with five homes and nice neighbors. We do get fog and deer crossing the roads, so be alert, especially at night. Please look over the detailed instructions to get here, as GPS may not bring you right to our driveway. We are a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Bellingham and several other communites-Ferndale, Lynden, Everson, and Deming. We have cell phone coverage here, but if you don't for some reason, you are welcome to use our land line for calls. (Currently T-Mobile coverage is "iffy.")
  • We were incredibly excited to return to Bellingham and have a small vacation. When we arrived to the Aloha Suite, Terry was there to greet us and show us the amenities. She showed us around the suite and made us feel very welcome. The aloha suite was a perfect base camp for all of our adventures! We would definitely come back if Terry would have us!

    Jordan2016-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Hey guys, I just wanted to let everyone know that we've had a wonderful stay overnight at Terry's place. My girlfriend and I just love the Hawaiian theme decor of this guest house. Also, my little nephew was able to play at a little playground and swing sets next to the house and made our stay even more awesome! Terry and her husband made us feel right at home. They are one of the most kindest, nicest people you'll ever meet. We would definitely stay at The Aloha Suite again if we come around next time.

    Ariya2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter, 7 mo granddaughter and I had a wonderful stay at Aloha Suite this past week! We were welcomed with an inviting note and fresh baked cookies and Terry even rearranged the room for us to accommodate the baby's porta-crib. The grounds were so relaxing and beautiful! Loved having a kitchenette where we could make our coffee and breakfast before we headed out for the day. We'll definitely be returning the next time we're in Bellingham.

    Jen2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a lovely stay. I booked this property not sure of its location as I thought perhaps it might be too far from the city Centre. It's location couldn't be more perfect. Set in a peaceful country style (Website hidden by Airbnb) perfect. Not too far from Bellingham and very easy to get to. The cottage style accommodations were clean, quaint and perfect for my daughter and myself. Terry and her husband were the perfect hosts and so accommodating. I would recommend anyone staying here. You WILL NOT, be dissapointed. It has been one of the BEST air BnB's, I've stayed at. Don't miss out on a wonderful place to visit and stay! Thank you Terry and your husband for a wonderful stay!

    Marisa2015-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Terry was a great host. Could not have been more accommodating. She was there when I arrived and the place was amazing. She had fresh baked cookies available and healthy snacks / fruit. Extremely clean and comfortable bed. Would highly recommend if in the area.

    Carter2016-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Terry and Kerry were great! We arrived a bit late and saw a show in the evening, so we didn't get to hang out with them much. She did leave us some amazing homemade oatmeal cookies and the flat was very private, cozy and clean. Great stay when looking for something a little outside the city too.

    Patrick2017-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little place to stay! Hosts were super accommodating and so sweet! Would definitely stay there again!

Our studio is close to everything Bellingham has to offer. Just blocks from downtown, we are walking distance from nightlife, museums, restaurants, parks, and the waterfront. We know you'll dig the location! We love our Lettered Streets neighborhood, our view of the Bay, and proximity to all the good stuff. You'll feel at home with a private entrance, full kitchen, and washer/dryer. With tons of historic charm, yet a newly renovated space, this is the perfect spot to enjoy this quirky fun town!
This is the third floor of a 19th century home. There are two sets of stairs, and electronic locks to access your private studio. The studio has a full kitchen, and we provide the basics to cook simple items. If guests want to do more extensive cooking, we are happy to provide the tools, however we do not keep everything in the unit, nor do we keep any food or condiments. If you have the need for more specialty cooking tools, we ask that the guest communicates this need. This also goes for basic household items such as irons, hairdryers, etc. We are minimalists in many ways, but can always share/provide these items. We provide coffee and tea (Keurig) as well has a hot-pot for water. The space has a QUEEN size bed. The living room couch is a small futon that folds into a bed. We do not advertise this as a second bed because it is not a typical "bed". It has worked for many guests with children, or adults who don't mind their feet hanging off the edges. If you have questions about this additional bed, please message us.
Lettered Streets is an awesome neighborhood if you like to be close to downtown restaurants, bars, and businesses. We often walk to the farmers markets or to brunch, and appreciate that we are one of the closest neighborhoods to downtown Bellingham. We love all the breweries, tap-houses, and coffee shops that are blocks away from our house! It is also ideal because it is a short distance (less than a mile) from the waterfront and the Marina (Squalicum Harbor). The fact that we can walk less than a mile to the marina to inspect the yachts, watch the sunset at Zuanich park, or driftwood hunt along Squalicum Beach is a real luxury! We love our location so much, but we still feel it is important to note that because we are only blocks from downtown, parks, restaurants and the waterfront, we have some proximity to areas where the homeless population of Bellingham will congregate. As with any downtown area nationwide, homelessness is rising. It is unfortunate, but we cannot change this fact until certain systemic issues are addressed in our country. And Bellingham, even though picturesque and charming, shares the same disparity in living wage/home prices that the entire west coast is experiencing. However, we love living so close to downtown and have NO issues with our neighborhood. It is considered a desirable and very safe area to live. However, we like to give everyone a heads up... especially those folks that like to ignore that homelessness indeed exists in America. For more info on the Lettered Streets neighborhood feel free to visit: https://www.cob.org/services/planning/neighborhoods/Pages/lettered-streets.aspx
  • Lindsy was a great host but I would definitely not stay here if you are a light sleeper. Her note about the train noises is legit and shouldn't be taken lightly

    Paige2017-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts do a great job creating a comfortable space. The work that they have put into the interiors, particularly the bathrooms and kitchen areas, really shows. good location with quick access to downtown and Meridian. The bed slept well and I had an enjoyable evening. Will definitely book again when I return to Bellingham.

    Nikolous2017-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect getaway - stylish, beautifully decorated, complete with plants and walkable to downtown. Lindsy and Eli also provide a comprehensive list of great recommendations. We were fortunate to meet Lindsy in person who is as charming as you would expect, and we both agreed that Mallard ice cream needs to be added to their list.

    Tammy2018-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place!

    Paula2018-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, clean and has a nice style to it. The occasional train going by was no big deal at all. If anything, it added to the charm.

    David 2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cute place. Walking distance to town. Good value for weekend away.

    Jillian2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsy and Eli's place is a stylish bohemian escape in the city. The renovations are cozy and have a great style. The bed was very comfortable and there is plenty of space for two people with a well appointed kitchen. Noise from the trains didn't bother us, though we have always lived near trains so may just be used to it. I may have missed this in their description but there is a large homeless population as there is a drop in service center at the end of the street, so I would be cautious about walking at night alone. Otherwise location is walking distance to some great restaurants and bars. We look forward to returning again and exploring more and would recommend this place to our friends/family.

    Anna2018-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lindsy and Eli were excellent hosts and their home is so charming. The home has all the character you'd expect from a home of its time, but Lindsy and Eli have really updated the space to have a clean, cozy, boho feel. Their recommendations for neighborhood eats and coffee were spot on. Wishing them all the best with their cute home and neighborhood!

Enjoy this cheery light filled space with a separate kitchen. Located close to Fairhaven, WWU, Downtown Bellingham, and trails that lead to Chuckanut Mtn, the bay and WWU. Let this be your hub for all you want to experience while in Whatcom County.
This space is attached to the main house where I live. There is an always locked door in the hallway between the two spaces for privacy. There are 3 different rooms which make it more than a traditional studio. The large room has a queen bed and a sitting area. There is an outside entrance to this room with a low deck that looks over the backyard and the garden. This is a great place to sit and watch the sunset. There are 3 steps up from this room into the hallway. Off the hallway there is a bathroom with a large shower (no tub) and another room for a small kitchen with a microwave, a countertop convection toaster oven, a refrigerator, a hot pot and an assortment of cooking and eating dishes and utensils. There is a second outside entrance into the kitchen. I provide tea as well as coffee beans with a grinder and a drip system with an insulated carafe. I also have basic condiments such as mustard, ketchup, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. I have added an option for a third guest with the use of a 4" foam trifold single size mattress that could be placed on the floor next to the queen bed. This is for guests that want to bring a child or friends that may not want to share the queen bed. Please be aware that this is not a real bed and choose this option with that knowledge.
Wren House is conveniently located close to many popular locations. We are 1 mile from a 24-hour major grocery store in a shopping center with a pharmacy, restaurants, hardware, and REI. We are 1.5 miles from Fairhaven with many shops and restaurants, 1.5 miles from WWU, 2.5 miles to downtown Bellingham with shops, restaurants and award-winning brew pubs, and just 2 blocks to a Greenways Trail that takes you to the Chuckanut Mountains or to Bellingham Bay or WWU.
  • Sue was a great host: communicating clearly, making great suggestions for to do's around Bellingham and providing a cute and cozy Wren House. The view to back yard is great to wake up to-birds feeding and wonderful light! We explored the neighborhood, the Connelly Creek Trail, the interurban trail and found a sculpture in a yard down the street where a robot appeared to be emerging from the front yard. Wow! We easily got to Fairhaven and downtown Bellingham to enjoy our stay. The house was stocked with all we needed, cute kitchen with separate entrance to not disturb others sleeping while on morning walks and runs. We would recommend Sue's place as a very comfortable and easy to get around location for exploring Bellingham area or a quick getaway. Thanks!

    Jason2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was a great host and her studio is just as described. Quiet place to hang out in the yard. She answered my texts and questions promptly.

    Colleen2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely suite!

    Jiani2017-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Alex and I were thrilled with your stay at Wren House! It was accurate to its listing and Sue really did think of everything. I loved that there was an additional space heater in case we wanted to be toasty. The space was clean, relaxing and very convenient. We liked that it was walking distance to the WWU campus and arboretum. We had plenty of privacy and Sue was easily reachable if we needed anything. This was my first Air B & B experience and it was a fantastic one! Thanks Sue!

    Lindsey2015-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Wren House Studio was a perfect little getaway location for the two of us when we came to visit Bellingham. The studio is centrally located - near I-5, but tucked away on a quiet street, with easy access to both downtown Bellingham and Fairhaven. Wren House had everything we needed, and some things we didn't expect, but certainly appreciated: a comfy bed, a little couch and side table, wi-fi, and a tidy kitchenette stocked with tea, coffee, fresh organic half-and-half, honey and sugar, plus organic oatmeal and breakfast cookies that we ended up relying on (and really enjoying!). We happened to be in town when a cyclone came over from Alaska, and Wren House stayed cozy and warm despite the lashing winds and rain outside. We met Sue briefly, but otherwise didn't see her, and the studio felt entirely private to us. Oh... and one more thing: GREAT shower!

    Ola2015-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint, cute, comfortable and homey. Perfect place for a perfect town. I loved the following: 1. Showers - Most underrated feature of the place, two shower heads and great water pressure. 2. Landscaping - Sue's home is gourgeous. Flowers, bamboo, vegetables, and a spacious back yard. Garden coupled with a small and humble porch is friendly and welcoming. 3. Living space - Clean and cozy. Critique: Only blemish on the perfect place is the pup. He lives in the main house and barks whenever he hears footsteps. Despite our best efforts to keep quiet, he would bark everytime we entered the place. Barking stops when you get settled, so he was not an inconvenience. Thanks for the stay!

    Adams2016-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Wren House! Sue has thought of everything to make for a perfectly comfy, quiet, private and convenient stay. Having coffee on the deck chairs and looking out on her garden was simply delightful. Great location - I loved the feeling of being surrounded by nature, while being minutes from everything you need in fairhaven and downtown.

    Mackenzie2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed in Sue's space before. It was lovely both times. It is a great space for a couple or single visitor and Sue pays attention to detail with a wonderfully functional tiny kitchen and bathroom. The location is central and convenient to campus and students for visiting parents, like myself. The studio is attached to the house, but it has a separate entrance and feels very private. I was terribly busy this trip and felt comfortable coming and going early and late without feeling like I was disturbing the host.

Newly renovated one bedroom apartment in the heart of Old Fairhaven Historic District. Located two minutes walking to downtown amenities. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, and privacy. Located above a quiet law office with private, coded access. On one side is a condo complex and on the other, a home converted into a micro brewery.
This a newly renovated historic building in the center of Old Fairhaven. Originally built in 1909, the building used to be part of the colorful history of Old Fairhaven Prostitution! In it's heyday, it was called "Anne's Palace" and owned by a madam named Anne Bronson. This apartment is small, perfect for two or three people. It starts getting cramped with four adults. Keep that in mind. Please let the host know if you will be needing the sofa bed. As this apartment is next to a micro-brewery, there may be some days and nights with bands that play. There should be no more noise from bands or activities after 9:30-10PM.
This home is in walking distance to urban trails, the Bellingham Amtrak Station, Community Boating Shed (for kayak and paddle board rentals), and all the wonderful Old Fairhaven downtown shops and restaurants, as well as the Farmer's Market. Please scroll all the way down to see the map and locations marked as points of interest. This apartment is located within walking distance to almost everything in Old Fairhaven. There are several listings, restaurants, and places of interest that have been listed; be sure to read about all the great places in Fairhaven and Bellingham! As this is next to a micro-brewery, there may be some days and nights with bands that play. There should be no more noise from bands or activities after 9:30-10PM.
  • Kristi was awesome! She was always available for any questions that I had and she made it very clear that my comfort was a priority. The property was perfect. Quiet, clean, comfy and Kristi stocks the place with everything you can think of. I was especially impressed that she uses Mrs. Meyers cleaning products so the space smelled fresh and not chemically induced. I took the train to Bellingham from Seattle and Kristi's property is just up the hill from the depot so it's the perfect location for train and bus travelers. Historic Fairhaven was hopping with people and there were so many shops and restaurants to choose from. I didn't even venture into Bellingham proper. I was also close to walking/biking/hiking trails which are beautiful this time of year. Being from the South we get spoiled with our need for ceiling fans. Kristi had TWO beautiful vintage looking fans and I felt especially at home with that feature. The decor was very much Northwest in style and the bedding made it difficult to get up and out in the mornings. The perfect space to get-away and cocoon. I will be back!

  • While I did not meet Kristi her directions were spot on and the place was spotless.

  • The apartment was clean and well kept. Lots of light. There is a brew pub next door but they seemed to close early so not a problem. There is an apartment building next door but again, no noise. The one bedroom with sofa bed was within 2 blocks of the heart of Fairhavan. Apartment was cute and clean.Host provided starter kit of coffee and tea. Lotion and shampoo provided. Bed was comfy. Host was pleasant, easy to contact, and very accommodating. Would recommend!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Kristi's. We were in town for the Ski to Sea race. The apartment is only two blocks from the main street of shops and restaurants in Fairhaven. It also was really easy to walk down to the finish line after our leg of the race. The apartment is above an office but has it's own entrance. It looks brand new and had everything we needed and more. There were snacks, toiletries in case you forgot something, a guide for activities and restaurants in Bellingham, as well as, books on Bellingham history.

  • Had a wonderful experience at Annie's Palace. Everything was as advertised. The apartment had everything we needed and is in the heart of the lovely town of Fairhaven. Great shops all around, a nice grocery a block away and a few steps to the Interurban Trail which provides beautiful strolling or jogging in and out of town. Thanks again Kristi!

A unique house in downtown Historic Fairhaven which has been converted into a working micro-brewery. A block away from local amenities, including boutique shops & great restaurants. You can easily hop on to the inter-urban trail which links parks, fantastic hiking, biking & downtown Bellingham. Fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi & a tasty, craft ale is only a step away.
Our cozy home is also home to a small micro-brewery which is housed in shipping containers in the back yard. Guests are welcome to use the backyard which has a fire pit, or the patio upstairs which gets lots of sun to eat their meals. The detached garage has been converted into our taproom, so a tasty ale, created on site is never far away. The bedroom is in the back of the house. It is surprisingly quiet, so you won't be disturbed by patrons of the brewery. In fact, there is the constant gurgling sound of a running stream, which is actually our glycol system that is used to cool our beer and walk-in cooler. The kitchen is fully equipment, including a gas range so you can cook to your hearts delight. There is coffee and tea readily available too. The window above the kitchen sink looks out on to the front beer garden of the brewery. You can always create some privacy by closing the blinds. The dated bathroom has a shower tub, which is stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, toothpaste, first aid kit and most importantly with a tub....soothing bubble bath! The lounge/living area is our biggest space. It receives a lot of light and looks out on to the front street, and a window faces the front beer garden. Again, there are blinds, curtains and sheer curtains to create more privacy for yourself, if you so desire. You can hear the murmur of conversations in the front beer garden. The comfy couch in the living room opens up into sleeper bed. Stairs go upstairs to our office space. There is a door that creates privacy for you downstairs; however, the house is a little squeaky, so you will hear foot steps upstairs as we access the space during office hours and occasionally in the evening to access our merchandise stock for the brewery. We only access the office space through the brewery, and never via your space downstairs.
Our micro-brewery home is located one block from downtown Historic Fairhaven. There are beautiful boutique shops just a stroll around the corner, and great restaurants with some excellent happy hours & food. Obviously, we think Stones Throw Brewery is the best place for a beer, but if you want wine or cocktails we love visiting the Black Cat. Access to the Inter-Urban Trail is across the road. You can bike south towards Fairhaven Park (5min), Arroyo Park (15-20min), Larrabee State Park (45min) or you can bike/walk north into downtown Bellingham which takes you out over the water along the Taylor Dock Board Walk and past Woods Coffee. Talk to us if you are interested in using a bike - we have one available for you. In the summer time the Community Boating Center is open and you can easily rent a paddle board/paddle boat for some fun sightseeing on Bellingham Bay. A block and a half away you will find our local grocery store, Haggens. Very convenient.
  • My wife and I put my family up in this house for the weekend while they visited from the east coast. It worked out great. The place was clean, the beds were comfy, noise from the adjacent brewery wasn't a problem at all, and the location was perfect, for our purposes. Last but not least, the beer was of course delicious.

    Eric2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fun, quirky little place, next to a very family-friendly and dog-friendly brewery! Great beer, nice people! We were lucky to have live bluegrass music on one of the nights we stayed. Within walking distance are tons of shops and restaurants. Also, we loved that the Interurban trail head was nearby (we attempted to bike from the brewery on the trail to Larabee State Park, but 3 miles in discovered the trail gets super narrow/steep and it's not really meant for bikes with kid trailers due to large rocks that you have to go over). The house is super close to the brewery. We were a little surprised that the brewery surrounds the front of the house, side of the house and back of the house (outdoor seating). It was hot out, so we had to have the windows open, which meant we could hear a lot of conversations happening outside until 11 p.m. However, we easily tune things out, and our daughter can sleep through anything, so this wasn't an issue for us. Plus, the back bedroom was very quiet. Just the room our daughter was sleeping in was noisy. But, we loved our stay! The house was stocked with everything we needed and good hair products. Always a plus!

    Bridget2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised - cozy and part of an active micro-brewery. In-town location is a plus for those wanting walking distance to shops and restaurants, but the brewery's taproom adjacent to the unit can get a bit noisy. The bedroom is on the opposite side from the taproom, while the kitchen window faces into its outdoor seating in front. Kitchen is large and modestly stocked. Bathroom is tight - especially at the sink. As others have noted in their reviews, there is a only a curtain at the top of the stairs outside the bathroom that separates you from the owner's office area, but was not an issue for us on the Sunday night we stayed in the unit.

  • Cozy, clean, comfortable little spot. The hosts were really friendly and the attached micro brewery was a great time. It has really good energy all in all. We had a great weekend and will be back!

    Anthony2017-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nadine's place was wonderful. My girlfriend and I only stayed for one night but it was the perfect location for exploring the Fairhaven district. The Beer at Stones Throw was very good and the brewery had a lot of excellent touches.

    Jason2017-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • beer? check. food truck snacks? check? onsite lodging? check. What more do you need!? Excellent trip to Fairhaven and Stones Throw Brewing. Nadine was great at communicating trip details and an excellent host. Highly recommend staying here!

    Timothy2017-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay was relaxed and easy. The checkin was so simple! What's better than stopping in at the brewery for a drink with your keys?? Great bathroom amenities: Quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. Fluffy towels. Blowdryer and feminine supplies in the cabinet. Fully stocked kitchen: Tea. Spices. Full sets of dishes, pots, pans, utensils, mugs, etc. Fairhaven is a cute little town only minutes away from downtown Bellingham and we appreciated having the best of those two worlds. We only wish we could have enjoyed the place and the town a little bit longer.

Our place is walking distance to Historic Fairhaven, Western Washington University, parks, restaurant dining, a local brewery, art and culture, and great views. You’ll love our place because of the gardens, the peacefulness tranquility. It is a delight of both flowers, vegetables and birds. The Garden Suite has a cozy cottage rural feeling within a quiet neighborhood, and the location offers all that a small village can, with a city nearby.
Our space is cozy, about 200 sq. ft. Warning for people over 6'4", there are low ceilings, you may have to duck in the doorways. The Garden Suite is comfortable for one or two people. The bed is a cotton-filled, slightly smaller full futon with an ergonomically sprung frame and has an adjustable head rest. A memory foam mattress pad and a down comforter in the winter will be cozy for your night's rest. The living space includes a bedroom-sitting area, kitchen, entry way-eating and work area and a bathroom. Although attached to the main house, the Garden Suite has a private entrance and overlooks a quiet garden space. The birds are a joy anytime of year. We do appreciate a quiet home environment, with that said, Derek is a working musician and we love to spend time with our grandkids, so you might hear acoustic music and laughter through the walls. Although our space accommodates two, if you have more than two adults or children, please let us know so we can provide extra sleeping gear. There will be an extra person charge of $10 each person after 2, children under 12 are free of charge. The furnace is regulated in the main house, and provides heat to the suite, however we do provide an extra space heater and fan for your comfort. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and we provide breakfast items such as, coffee, a selection of teas, granola, milk, juice and fruit. Please ask if there is something you need for cooking that is not provided. There is no TV, a CD/ radio player is provided. The Garden Suite is next door to the Adorable Fairhaven Studio apartment so we can accommodate larger groups with our neighbors. If you need more space for friends and family let us know and we'll try and accommodate you. We do have a no pet policy, but if you must bring your pet along, please contact us before your visit. A pet fee will apply, $10. Please use the back yard garden spaces as they were your own. The back yard has quiet places to relax, and can be used at any time. We generally use the front gardens for our own use, and occasionally will be in the back working in the garden areas. A small garden patio outside the suite is for your use. Our house is smoke free and we would appreciate if you smoke outside only. Thank you!
The Southside, Happy Valley, Fairhaven neighborhood offers it's residents and guests many enjoyable and convenient amenities. Walking distance to the Alaskan Ferry terminal, Greyhound bus and train terminal, Western Washington University, Fairhaven Village, Taylor Dock and Boulevard Park, the Interurban trails of Chucknut Mt.(for biking and hiking), Haggen grocery store, and several restaurants and boutiques. Despite all this activity, our neighborhood is quiet, friendly and colorful, for walking, jogging or relaxing. The birds are plentiful, look for the bird book in the suite.
  • We loved our stay at the Garden Suite. Such intentionality has been given to combining beauty with practical comforts. The art, sense of whimsy and inviting and lush garden all contributed to a peaceful and nurturing stay. The host was friendly and welcoming. We'll be back!

  • Fantastic! A quiet, pleasant, and cute place to stay. Great location just a few minutes from Fairhaven. Clearly put together with an eye for detail and a great deal of love. We will highly recommend staying here, and it will be our first choice next time we visit Bellingham.

  • A charming little getaway, nestled up against the garden, within walking distance to downtown Fairhaven in Bellingham. Small, but spacious-feeling, with exquisite taste for fine details, this cozy Garden Suite is one to write home about. Hoping to return again in the not-so-distant future because it was so unexpectedly wonderful. Thank you, Derek and Laura!

    Julie2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Derek's Garden Suite is just as described; quiet, comfortable and close to Fairhaven and Bellingham. They both greeted us warmly in the front garden when we arrived and Laura gave us a quick tour. The garden is beautiful and it is clear they enjoy tending it. We truly appreciated the fresh breakfast supplies provided, which meant we didn't need to shop before we arrived. The cottage is cozy, clean and very comfortable. We could not have asked for anything more.

    Steve2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first air bnb and it was perfect! I stayed here while doing an avalanche safety course in Bellingham. Laura and derek were so friendly, stop and have a chat with them if you can. Id recommend walking down to the water for a sunset and grabbing a beer at the brewery on the way back. There are some good restaurants/shops/grocery all with in walking distance too. I would stay here again just to get to know the hosts better and explore the area.

    Dave2017-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The garden cottage is charming, artsy, and so peaceful. We loved the personal, friendly touches like a kitchen stocked with some great basics, personal pieces of art, and fresh flowers on the table. We felt like we were staying with a friend of the family in an autonomous space. We will be booking this cottage again.

    Brianne2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Derek have a very charming suite in the backyard of their home. The gardens are lovely and the cottage is very cute and has everything you need in a small space. It was quiet and very private. Laura and Derek are lovely hosts.

In Kundalini yoga, we use specific sequences of postures/movements, breath and mantra (called kriyas) that when done together create a particular beneficial effect in the body. These sets help balance the glandular system and strengthen the nervous system as well as stretch and strengthen muscles and ligaments. Other benefits of a practice can include an improvement in immunity and energy levels; stress reduction; and more balance and clarity for the mind. I have been a student of yoga for 15+ years. Traditions I’ve studied include Hatha, Kundalini, Anusara and Viniyoga. I was first introduced to Kundalini yoga in 2002. Interested in learning more about how this form of yoga worked, I completed the 220 hour Level 1 Kundalini yoga Teacher Training Program at YogaWest in Vancouver, B.C. and received my teaching certification in 2011. I’ve finished one (Mind & Meditation) of five modules towards Level 2 certification. My practice is also influenced by studying w/ teachers from other traditions, mainly Rod Stryker (Hatha) and Tias Little (Lyengar & Hatha). I have a background in biology & ecology and love to share the science behind yoga while not losing touch with its more mystical qualities.
  • Wonderful space in a scenic spot in the northwest.

    Meredith2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had high expectations for the cottage and somehow they were still exceeded! The highlights for our 2 day trip were definitely: walking down to the beach first thing in the morning to listen to the waves, BBQing on the patio in the evening, and stargazing at night. There are neighbours close by on either side but for the most part it still feels very private and quiet. We're already planning on coming back again next year.

  • We really loved the relaxing vibe at the Cottage by the Sea!

    John2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Just like the pictures. A bald eagle was practically doing laps in front of us. Jennifer is a terrific host and the house and location are lovely.

    Elizabeth2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer was timely in responding to my questions by email. Her directions were very clear. She absolutely takes pride in her cottage. The location was spectacular. The cottage was very comfy and welcoming. Everything I could possibly need and more was at my finger tips. Enjoyed the Lummi Island Studio Art Tour - bought some beautiful art and met some wonderful islanders. The kitchen is well stocked and does include a oven. I would love to return to this cottage. Thank you Jennifer for sharing this piece of heaven.

  • amazing view. supre clean. had all the cooking implements one might need. great solitude in this house. a perfect rental for a quiet sea-side getaway. loved everything about it.

    Jerod2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect little cottage! I would definitely return for the views alone. The full bank of windows looking onto the water was all the entertainment I needed. The constantly changing weather of the area combined with the full range of birds and animals outside made it hard to keep my eyes on my book. The living room couch and the beds were quite cozy, the kitchen was well equipped and the ability to use the washer/dryer all made the cottage a home away from home. Jennifer was great about answering my many questions about the area and provided a ferry schedule that made getting to the island easier. Overall, it was a great experience.

    Tamara2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was the best place I have been and was so impressed. Every detail of my experience at Cottage by the Sea was met with unexpected pleasure and beauty and anything basic I needed was there. We only had to bring our foods to cook and a camera the view was fantastic the weather was perfect the privacy was great it was clean and roomy and Jennifer was very pleasant and helpful. We want to make it an annual trip!

The highlight of this space is its remote location. To get here, you will drive approximately three miles on a gravel road through the woods. Once you get to your private parking spot, you will hike down a short trail to the tiny house. We are located about 35 minutes from Bellingham , but the Alger bar and grill is about 15 minutes away and there is also a small country store with a few supplies.
  • The cabin was great. It is a bit of a drive on long winding roads but worth it for the quiet and remoteness. The tiny cabin has an efficient use of space and liked using the kitchen to cook breakfast and also like all the food that was provided. The bath was great to use even if it was a little chilly outside. Great Airbnb hosts who think of all the little things that make them super hosts.

  • Great! So fun! Love the outdoor bathtub.

    Shelby2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly what my girlfriend and I needed. A relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The tub outside was amazing! We loved our time and wished we had taken more time off work to say longer. We would love to book stays here again and again.

  • Feels like a teeehouse. Its nice and quiet.

    Carolina2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was so much more than just a cabin! It was so thoughtfully put together and just perfect for a night away from everything. The tub was by far the best bath I’ve ever had! And we had the utmost privacy, 10/10 would come here again!

    Anthony2018-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • The adorable tiny home was exactly as advertised, and was actually more spacious inside than I had envisioned. My favorite touches were the very private outdoor bathtub with very hot water, fire ring with well stocked fire wood, fire starters, coffee/tea, light breakfast provided, great signage to find the home, and it felt like you were sleeping in a treehouse- high ceilings in the bedroom with a clear roof. It rained during the night and the sound of the raindrops was delightful. enjoy!

    Beth2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny cabin was the perfect get away for a relaxing evening. The drive up there was gorgeous and the cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was cozy, we each enjoyed a nice hot bath in the great outdoors, and the landscape can't be beat! Booking, check-in, and check-out were all super easy! We loved it!!!

    Jackie2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin! There was plenty of heat and hot water and ambient lighting that made this little place a cozy dream.

Our TINY HOUSE is perfect for a unique experience or a creative alternative to a traditional hotel room. The comfortable outdoor space and views gives one the feeling of "glamping" in a country setting yet close to all Bellingham has to offer. Length of stay is limited to two weeks due to the small space. Exceptions possible upon request. Note: Neighbor is constructing new house until Dec. therefore you may hear daytime construction noise.
This TINY HOUSE is small...but oh so cute and functional! We have packed 2 full sized beds, wifi, a fully flushing toilet and a claw foot tub/shower, Smart TV, kitchenette and a table with two chairs all within 120 square feet! The covered porch adds to the space and an in-wall heater allows the cabin to be used year round. The 3 inch, full sized memory foam mattress in the loft is best suited for children who are fully proficient going up and down ladders or small adults 5'5" or smaller. The space is tight and the ladder is steep and can be tricky. Cooking in the cabin is kept to a minimum due to the lack of space and ventilation. Inside the cabin, you have access to a small microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee pot, and electric hot water pot. Outdoors, there is a fire pit and coal Webber BBQ. I encourage you to bring your own outdoor camp stove and cookware if you desire more cooking options. To help the ventilation indoors, we encourage you to keep the window open, the bathroom door cracked and and the fan in the bathroom on as often as possible. We have hung a clothes line on the porch to help with drying items. If you're traveling with an infant, your portable playpen can fit next to the bed if the table and chairs are moved to the covered porch.
The cabin is tucked back into the trees, but we still need to respect our wonderful neighbors by keeping the noise to a minimum. During the warm months when the windows are open, you might hear a little road noise. Also, we have many wild birds that can make quite a ruckus in the morning. We are located at the end of a Private Lane and in respect of our neighbors, we ask that you drive 5 MPH or less down the driveway.
  • Wonderful place to spend some time! We had such a blast staying in the tiny house and really enjoyed our time with Mike & Laura. They were fantastic hosts and have an amazing property - very peaceful and quiet setting, but close to services and lots of things nearby to do. We'd come back in a heartbeat!

    Jennifer2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • This airbnb is amazing!! The location is stunning, with incredible 360 degree mountain views, Mt. Baker is visible right on the property! The cabin itself is very nice, clean, and cozy, and the homemade granola was delicious! My boyfriend and I will definitley be returning

    Izzy2018-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and his wife were really friendly, the tiny house that they built was gorgeous. It's worth reading a little about their story of their house building project. It was a very cozy space, nice enough for 2. The homemade granola and yogurt was a nice treat for us in the morning. Would definitely recommend!

    Andrea2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • It is small but but very sweet. Loved the chickens. Mike and Laura are gracious hosts.

    Valerie2016-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • We love their tiny house. It is included a bonfire pit with wood. Cozy and cute.

    Michelle2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • What we loved: thoughtful touches like emails after we checked in, granola and yogurt left for us to discover, and an effort to create serenity and seclusion. Also, you've got a great view of Mt. Baker on-property. Things to know: you're a few miles out of Bellingham and most things close early in Lynden. Plan dinner / grocery trips accordingly. A microwave and toaster oven are available, but no stove or hotplate. Also, the border crossing at Lynden/Aldergrove is not 24 hours. Mike and Laura provided a great retreat thoughtfully secluded in the farm country north of Bellingham. We appreciated their hospitality and thoughtfulness. Like with their tiny house, it was just enough, but more than expected.

    Kristopher2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely adorable accommodation! Incredibly charming, quaint, warm, and cozy. Mike greeted us upon arrival and was very friendly and welcoming. We had an absolutely delightful stay and hope to return soon!

    Alkrizzia2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great, relaxing stay at this cabin. The cabin is adorable, clear and very comfortable, despite its small size. We used the grill one night, which was wonderful. Mike and Laura are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet!

A lovely, private, light-filled room in our home, with a private entrance, bath, and basic kitchenette. It's in a quiet neighborhood, close to downtown, backing up to green space, and steps away from hiking and biking trails.
Zen Oasis is a large bedroom with a private entrance and bath in the back of our single-story family home which borders Whatcom Falls Park. It is clean, bright, comfortable, and simply furnished with a queen bed, chair, small table and chairs, and dresser drawers. There is a private deck with two chairs for lounging in the fresh outdoors where you can listen to the birds and nearby Whatcom Creek and waterfalls. It is best suited for shorter stays of up to one week. There is no access to the main house and no cooking facilities, but there is a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, and dishes and utensils for take-out or ready-made meals in the room. Tea and coffee are provided. Zen Oasis is a great place for: - solitude, respite and communing with nature - a comfortable, clean and convenient stay for business or travel - proximity to walking and biking trails - a quiet night's sleep after a busy day of exploring. Zen Oasis may not be great for: - children under 5 years old - late-sleepers (there is a skylight in the room which makes for light-filled mornings.)
Whatcom Falls Heights is the perfect urban neighborhood - close to downtown (just a 10 minute drive or 30 minute bike ride), but with the quiet of the woods and park to make you feel you're far away. Enjoy miles of walking trails through Whatcom Falls Park - the jewel of the city - with a park entrance just a short walk down the street. Bring your bike and explore the Railroad Trail system which runs through the park and takes you all the way downtown in one direction (about three miles each way) or over to Lake Whatcom in the other direction (about a mile).
  • We loved Kirsten and Jeff's Zen Oasis! Truly felt like a home away from home

    Hannah2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten and Jeff's place was perfect for my quick stop over in Bellingham. They were very accommodating and made it so simple for me to self check-in late.

    Gavin2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting, clean and inviting! The bed was amazing! So comfrey! Haven't slept that well in a long time. Then breakfast cookies, coffee and tea in the morning. Even a pitcher of filtered water in the fridge! Wish we were staying another night! Thank you Kristin and Jeff!

    Teresa2016-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a quiet, clean sanctuary. Check in was very easy and the coffee was a lovely surprise. Great views and very close to downtown.

    Samantha2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • I could tell that Kristen & Jeff worked hard to make Zen Oasis a calm, comfortable place to stay. When I arrived, I was thirsty and tired from traveling. It was a pleasant surprise to have cold, filtered water ready for me in the fridge and a coffee supply ready for the morning. Highly recommend.

    Simon2018-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen's place exemplifies what is so remarkable and wonderful about Airbnb. I needed a place to get away from home for a day or two, and luckily happened upon Kristen's lovely little oasis in the woods. Wonderfully quiet, super comfy/cozy, it is indeed, a ZenOasis in the Woods. I got some work done and slept like a baby.

    Paul2016-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • wonderful place for us. quiet and peaceful. Thank you Kristen for the suggestion for a hike.

  • Zen is the perfect description for this lovely space. It is perfectly ordered to provide comfort without clutter - spare in the most positive use of that word. The bed was very comfortable and the attention to detail regarding necessities was complete. The peaceful deck and garden view were perfect. Thank you!

We are in an area that is so beautiful and private along the north side of Chuckanut Mountain. The amount of hiking is unlimited whether it be along the southside of the mountain famous for its shoreline or the woods and trails. A just built studio with privacy all around it. The studio is just 320 sq. feet but looks much bigger because of the wrap around concrete patio and covered parking area.
The minute you pull in you feel the privacy with your own covered parking space and semi covered patio with the sliding glass door opening up to a beautiful mountain hillside view. This is a brand new building which we just completed.
The territorial view and hiking, water sports and mountain sports are abundant here as well as walks along the water in Fairhaven & Bellingham. There are also unique shops and art studios to visit before deciding which pub or restaurant to experience.
  • Amazing place and location! loved the view from the room and it has everything you need for a pleasant stay. I would recommend this place for anybody!

    Dani2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Gold Finch Studio is a lovely retreat. The space is luxuriously outfitted, and the situation is comfortable and peaceful. Attention to design is evident throughout. The bed is a dream to sleep on. We were lulled to sleep by the throaty hum of the frogs in the distance, and enjoyed coffee on the sunny front deck the next morning. The studio is located under ten minutes from one of our favourite neighbourhoods -- Fairhaven -- where there are great places to eat and to browse, and a lovely boardwalk walking trail along the waterfront towards Bellingham proper. We will definitely be back!

  • We loved staying at Anita's Golden Finch Studio space. The bed was so comfortable and the space is beautiful. The amenities were great and we were so comfortable it was hard to leave. Thank you, Anita for providing such a lovely mountain retreat!

  • A perfect get-away! It was peaceful and serene to the point of fairy-tale. It was cozy and the perfect hideaway in the Bellingham hills. It was the perfect size for one or two travelers looking to enjoy a scenic nook and eat out in the city. We absolutely LOVED it. Anita was an easy, quiet, and kind host.

    Mara2017-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Upon arriving my boyfriend and I ran into Anita as she was heading to the studio to put some freshly picked flowers in the room. (We were earlier that we expected to be.) She immediately made us feel at home and offered us great suggestions on local restaurants, hiking trails, and the local layout. The actual studio was above and beyond what I expected. I opened the door and a wave of relaxation came over me. The property is beautiful, you couldn't ask for a more private spot. We were so impressed by the decor , the colors, and amazing layout of the space. Our mattress was so comfortable and spacious, you will sleep like a baby. On top of all this luxury, Anita was an excellent host! She was super quick to respond to any questions or need that we had. Overall the experience was fantastic. A+++ This was the first airbnb we've been to, now everyone else has some big shoes to fill.

    NIcole2016-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful experience. The space is unbelievable. Warm and luxurious and quiet. Every single detail well considered and thoughtful. Anita was so welcoming and also gave me absolute privacy. Also, she was really helpful with directions and the property is out of this world gorgeous. Such a wonderful place to stay.

We are one block up from Community Boatworks where one can rent kayaks, paddle boards etc.. We are next to the interurban trail, which connects one to many parks, and hikes, and downtown Bellingham. In less than 5 minutes you can walk to Marine Park a lovely beach where the locals go to catch a spectacular sunset this time of year. Walk the beautiful Boulevard Park Boardwalk just past Fairhven The cabin has a kitchen, full bathroom upstairs, and an extra toilet only down stairs. We also have an herb garden, please help yourself.
  • My husband and I really enjoyed staying in this spacious cottage in Kathryn's back yard. It was clean, very quaint and cute and had everything we needed including a full kitchen and a thoughtful supply of coffee and cream for the morning. The property is very near the bay in Bellingham and within a 10 minute walk of trendy Fairhaven which has great coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants. We found the cottage very relaxing and would definitely stay here again.

    Elene2013-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were warmly greeted by Kathryn and her family (including friendly pets). The cabin is very cozy and inviting, especially on a cool rainy day. The full kitchen and gas fireplace made it hard to go out in the rain! Fresh flowers in vases, the cabin's rustic quality, unique spiral staircase, and loft, make it a "one of a kind" experience. We also liked how close it was to Fairhaven's downtown area and the Marine park on the ocean. Overall, it was a very relaxing weekend and we will definitely stay there again!

    Kaye2014-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the charming guesthouse! Check-in was quick and easy and it was so nice to have such a cozy home base as we came and went through our busy weekend in the lovely town of Bellingham. The art and furnishings were eclectic and comfortable and the fireplace kept the whole place warm.

    Bethany2014-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great house and hosts! We loved the kitchen and had a great pre-race meal there. The outdoor patio and upstairs balcony were very nice. The grapes from the vine were wonderWe wish we would have known about the proximity to the train station. But, everything else was great. I would recommend it to other people.

  • Kathryn was there to greet us, and the apartment was perfect for my sister and I. Charming place and a great location.

    Leah2015-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Charming cottage! Really sweet location in a nice quiet neighborhood. We had never been to this area of the country, and it is gorgeous. We had 5 people stay in the cottage - 2 on a large (king or queen )bed upstairs, two on the pull out sofa (double) and one on an air mattress. Very doable for we campers! However, the entire time I was there I was thinking about how perfect it would have been for a romantic get-away for two! The place was spotless, we had everything we needed. We briefly met the owner and his dogs (friendly) and the onwers house is just across the yard. They were very available if we needed anything.

    Donna2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our short visit at Kathyrn's quest cottage. Everything was just as described and we were welcomed by the host and her family. The cottage was cozy, warm, clean, and nicely appointed. Plenty of hot water which was welcome in the cold winter. We were very comfortable and well taken care of during our stay. The cottage is well located, private and easy to find in the lovely town of Fairhaven, Bellingham. The cabin had everything we needed. We were sad to leave and are looking forward to another stay in the future.

Elegant Northwest Modern Retreat overlooking a beautiful wildlife filled meadow, with filtered views of Chuckanut Bay, and amazing access to the trails and beaches of Larrabee State park. Enjoy a peaceful stay at our newly completed guest house just 10 minutes down Chuckanut Drive from Fairhaven and Downtown Bellingham.
The guest house is a newly completed eco friendly 850 square foot custom home. Beautifully trimmed out with fir reclaimed during Stefan’s years as a custom homebuilder, each aspect of the home has been carefully designed to accentuate the details of the space without distracting from the natural beauty that surrounds it. The single room on the main floor has a well equipped kitchen, dining nook and seating areas, all facing out through large windows onto the meadow and bay views. A sliding door leads to a large deck perfect to relax on with a morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening.* The bathroom and bedroom are located downstairs along with a den area. There is a queen bed in the bedroom, and the den area couch also converts to a queen. The den has a smart TV with a wireless internet connection, and we provide a Netflix account. There is no cable or other television service, but you can easily connect with your own accounts (e.g., HBO GO, Amazon, HULU) through the smart TV. We live next door, and are available if you have any questions during your stay. *The door to the deck is sealed for the winter (December 1 - March 1)
We are located on the scenic Chuckanut Drive (Hwy 11) four miles south of the historic Fairhaven district of Bellingham, WA. Surrounded by Larabee State Park, with easy access to running, hiking and mountain biking trails, we face Bellingham Bay and on clear days you can see the coastal mountains in British Columbia. Larrabee State Park also offers great beach access for beach combing, swimming, and launching your kayak or SUP. South of us, down Chuckanut Drive, are the small towns of Bow and Edison – both provide quaint, local flavor and artisan food. Downtown Bellingham is an easy 10-minute drive to the north. The Interurban trail runs along Chuckanut Drive into Bellingham, providing a beautiful walk, run or bike into town.
  • Wonderful place to stay. Exactly as described. Hope to go back soon!

    Judy2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Stefan and Aasta’s home is stunning - tucked away in the beautiful Chuckanuts with high ceilings and picture windows that offer amazing views of the surrounding valleys and the bay. Everything was clean and orderly, and anything you may need is thought of. We really enjoyed cooking, and admiring the views, and it’s just a quick jaunt into town. 10/10!

  • This place is so perfect for a peaceful getaway! Secluded yet 10 min drive to beautiful downtown Bellingham with food and entertainment galore. The set up of the house was perfect for us so quiet, private and had all the amenities I could possibly need. The house really sat in the middle of the PNW has to offer! Loved it! I would definitely stay again! Great hosts, great house!

    Shaina2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place! For us, this house was a perfect balance of a secluded feeling retreat with all of the modern conveniences. It is sparkling clean and beautifully done. It is tucked less than a mile off the (gorgeous) drive into Bellingham. Even though you feel like you're off the beaten path, you're less than a 15 minute drive to killer brewpubs and all things adorable that Bellingham has to offer. We look forward to staying here again!

  • We loved staying in stefans house. Very easy to find, modern, clean, and thoughtful setup for guests. We appreciated the w/d as we had biked for 4 days previous. Beautiful location and vies. Wild flowers surrounded the house. Could not have been a better place for us to have stayed in. Thanks!

    jan2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful place! We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend there. Very clean, private and modern with a beautiful view. We enjoyed the local brew the Stefan left for us and had a very easy time relaxing, which is just what we needed. The only thing that would have been icing on the cake would be an automan in the upstairs living room, to prop your feet up on when sitting on the couch, and looking out the window. We definitely hope to be back! Highly recommend.

    Nancy2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect! It is a really lovely, super-clean modern cabin in a beautiful location. When we arrived, we walked out onto the balcony and there was an adorable wild bunny munching on flowers just a few feet below us. I'm not kidding. We were able to cook our own meals in the fully equipped kitchen. Larrabee State Park is literally right next door, and it's a short drive (maybe 15 minutes?) into Bellingham. There were books and games for us to enjoy, a comfy bed with cozy linens in the master, plus a nice pull-out couch right in the next room for our kiddos. (FYI, there is a steepish staircase from downstairs to upstairs that was a little treacherous for our newly walking one-year-old.) We sat on the balcony and watched the sunset over the foothills and even had a bit of a water view! Stefan was very responsive and communicative. I cannot say enough good things about our stay. We will be back!

We are 90mins. from Seattle, 45 mins. to the Canadian border( I originated in Canada), 45 mins. to Mt. Baker. Anacortes - the gateway to the San Juans is 45 mins away. Western Washington University 10mins away, Whatcom Community College 7.5 mins away. All of the above is relative to time and traffic. Our street is a deadhead, homes are secluded on at least an acre or more. Lovely area to walk.
  • HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Our family of four stayed for over a week at Tall Cedars. When we first walked in we were struck by the warmth and the care put into the space to welcome us. Toys and books, even a play kitchen were set up for our young daughters. Deborah was just an amazing and gracious host the whole time. She was so comfortable and fun to be around and also really conscientious about our privacy, but always easily available. We could feel the joy she takes in caring for her guests... as she does her beautiful property and gardens. It's gorgeous! Our daughters were invited to harvest from her garden, returning with handfuls of blueberries and salads for lunch. This was a fun and perfectly comfortable experience for us in every way. We can't wait to stay again.

  • Perfect! Totally private, totally calm, and very very clean! It just felt easy and we could come and go with no hassle at all. The listing looks further from town than it is - it's a very close and convenient drive to anything, but the Tall Cedars house is on a private, beautiful and calm grounds. What a relaxing place to stay.

  • We wanted a place to stay near Skagit Valley. Being the Tulip Festival season, all the nearby places were taken quickly and Deborah's place was the next closest that met our needs of one bedroom apartment. I'm glad it turned out that way. Even though the place is about 30 min. from Skagit, we had such a pleasant stay that I would stay here again rather than a place in Skagit area. Here's why. It's more secluded, quiet, peaceful and yet close to shopping. But the best part is that Deborah is such a great host. She was in constant touch with us from the time we booked offering helpful tips for sightseeing the area. As other reviews mention already, the place was neat and clean. Breakfast was provided for the first morning and to our surprise we were offered homemade waffles for the next day as well. Thank you Deborah. She provided games for our little one too. I can't recall if we missed anything. All in all we felt at home away from home. I would definitely recommend this place if visiting the area.

  • The home feels like you're in the forest, although it's just a few minutes to gas, restaurants and stores. It's very easy to find, and right off the freeway. Check in is very easy using a code on the outside door. The home is incredibly comfortable, and accommodated me and my two teen age sons easily. Deborah left wonderful breakfast items in the refrigerator, which were appreciated. The WiFi worked very well, and there were many TV channels to pick from which my kids were happy about. The bathroom is huge, and has everything you need. There is a nice sitting area if you have time to relax. I would highly recommend this property, and would happily go back if I'm ever on my way to Canada (it's just an hour from the border).

  • This apartment was just as promised in the description. A very large, comfortable place to lay our heads for a perfect weekend of shopping and college visits.

  • This was a perfect rental for us. Deborah was lovely, and made our stay so enjoyable. She left us a delicious breakfast and snacks in the kitchenette which came in handy this morning. The place was spotless clean, and super comfortable. We definitely recommend this rental to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Bellingham!!

Beautiful setting that provides easy access to all that Bellingham has to offer. In the city but feels like the country. Our spacious suite is the perfect getaway for a couple or individual. With a private entrance, the 2nd floor studio and bathroom (on lower level) provide a great place to call home while in Bellingham. The king bed is ultra comfortable and the studio is perfect for those that want more space and amenities than a hotel room or shared house.
Our above garage suite is beautifully decorated with super comfortable king bed and comforter. Large armoire for clothing. High speed internet, microwave/toaster oven, Keurig, french press, small fridge and freezer, iron board, dishes, pots & pans and more. Hot plate available upon request. We only allow up to two people, but if you have an infant, don't hesitate to check with us. Interaction with guests: We are a text message away, anytime for anything! We live in the main house, but value your privacy. Our Clean Unit Guarantee - We want our guests to know that we provide clean bed sheets, pillow cases, duvet cover, mattress pad and bathroom towels/cloths for every visitor. We personally clean all surfaces upstairs and in the bathroom prior to every guest and do not use a cleaning company. This is how we like places when we visit, so we feel our guests deserve the same treatment! The neighborhood: Centrally located to EVERYTHING...Right on the trail system that runs throughout Bellingham. Near St. Joseph's Hospital, Barkley Village, downtown Bellingham, WWU and easy access to the freeway north and south. You can be on the road (State Rte. 542) to Mt. Baker in about 2 minutes from our house. Check out the notebook in the suite for information about our area, local trails and great places to eat, drink and hang out. Our location is central whether driving, riding or walking. We are right on the interurban trail that takes you all over Bellingham. We are also only a few minutes from downtown and the I5 Freeway. We are local and know Bellingham very well! If you have questions don't hesitate to ask.
Our home is walking distance to Barkley Village, Whatcom Falls Park, Lake Whatcom and provides easy access to just about all of Bellingham. Though you drive up through a typical neighborhood, our area has a limited number of houses on large lots. Almost all the homes on our private driveway have at least 3/4 of an acre, so there is no one super close.
  • The Spacious Studio of gracious hosts, Matt and Laura, will definitely be our first choice on future visits to Bellingham. Upon arrival, there was a baby deer under the tree in the front yard, and a friendly calico cat on the porch. Matt greeted us in person, and promptly responded by text over the weekend. The pleasant upstairs studio apartment over the garage has it's own private entrance. The decor was fresh and new, supplied with everything needed ~ comfortable king bed, quality linens, kitchenette with mini fridge/dishes/glasses/etc, sitting area with comfortable L-shaped couch, TV, free-standing closet with iron and mirror, great views from two windows of the quiet upscale neighborhood, A/C in addition to a tall rotating fan. Downstairs bathroom was pleasantly decorated, very clean, and had plenty of towels.

  • Great place to stay in Bellingham. Definitely beats any hotel.

  • Matt & Laura were very accommodating and their space is lovely. I immediately felt comfortable meeting them and walking in to the clean, cutely decorated, quiet and private space. I will definitely be looking them up if I ever need a place in Bellingham again.

  • This Airbnb is connected to a family's private home, with its own private entrance and parking space. The location is located in a safe suburban area, a few miles from Bellingham and Fairhaven. That being said, this is the reason it is so peaceful and precious. The perfectly stained wooden exterior house is located in a safe culdesac, near hiking trails, surrounded by private family gardens and hiking trails. The guest apartment is very clean and comfortable with the placement of furnishings well thought out for hosting either a couple or two individuals traveling together, like us. The accommodation offers a feel good relaxing atmosphere with a soothing neutral palette. It provided us with a safe, comfortable and budget friendly accommodations. The suite offers beautiful, neutral bath and kitchen linens, inspiring me to get a photograph of the labels on them for my own beach house. The hosts provided me additional perfect linens for my comfortability. I know personally how delicate of a dance it is to provide private and non-invasive hosting in a thoughtful warm manner. How well did they do that? Beautifully. The only additions I would add would be a mirror upstairs near the closet, and an additional reading lamp or floor lamp on the other side of the bed or couch to provide ambient light for another reader on the couch. Note, be mindful that the address is located on a painted board which was a bit hard to see at night. Lastly, I loved the way the hosts arranged for the family of deer to stand outside our window every day -just for our delightful pleasure, I am sure. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

  • We loved our stay at Matt's place. The location was convenient and the studio apartment is so cozy. So clean and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable, I would recommend anyone choose Matt's place for a trip to Bellingham. My husband and I adored it.

  • We enjoyed our space at Matt and Laura's, it had everything we needed. It was cute, comfortable, quiet and clean. Good location too.

  • Matt and Laura have created a peaceful haven. Two fawns greeted me as I turned onto their quiet street. I enjoyed a morning walk for breakfast on a nearby nature trail. The room was spotless, very nicely furnished and private.

Custom built modern home located on Guemes Island an 8-minute county ferry ride from Anacortes. Meaning you can avoid the long car line-up for the state ferryboats and also the big expense. The home is located on private 2.5 wooded acreage.
OK we live in paradise. Why not stop by for a visit? We’re located on Guemes Island an 8-minute county ferry ride from Anacortes, Washington. Meaning you can avoid the long car line-up and reservations for the state ferryboats and also the big expense. Our house was custom built for us with 6 rooms open floor plan (no walls and doors, it's open). Anderson’s store for food is 1 mile south, county park is 400’ for tennis, baseball and soccer plus kids playground the second county park is 1 mile north for waterfront crabbing and cookouts and an occasional food truck. Hiking Guemes mountain is a great hike to see all of the San Juan Islands and Cascade Mountains. Here’s some other salesish stuff I cut and pasted from other folks ads in the area that sounds fancy, plus I bet you can’t guess the parts we edited… Located across the water from Anacortes, Washignton on Guemes Island we are a 5-10 minute bike ride to beaches, county parks, hiking trails, 2 island stores and waterfront pinicing and grilling. Our island we think is ideal for all visitors. It's an easy 2 minute drive from the county ferry landing to our home. Our home includes living/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, 1 upstairs bedroom with queen bed (2 people), loft, office with a full sized murphy bed (2 people) and living room. 2 bikes, books and games are also available for guests use. Our home is located on a 2.5 private wooded acreage tucked into the giant fir and cedar trees. Watch boats pass by the south end as you munch on double cheeseburgers and drink beer at Anderson’s Store. Head down to the north beach for a walk and cooking out at the county park. Go to the park 1/4 mile away for tennis and the playground. Our home is situated among firs and cedars in a quiet and tucked away location from the wind. Generally 2- 5 bar cell coverage in the house. Internet WiFi is available at the home. So in general come stay at our place, kick back and enjoy the life in the San Juan’s, plus don’t expect too much except a very relaxing vacation.
Our home is located on a 2.5 private wooded acreage tucked into the giant fir and cedar trees. Located on rural Guemes Island, about 300 full-time residents. We're an 8-minute ferry ride over to Anacortes, Washington for restaurants, farmer's market and "in town" stuff if you want. Watch boats pass by the south end as you munch on double cheeseburgers and drink beer at Anderson’s Store. Head down to the north beach for a walk and cooking out at the county park. Go to the schoolhouse park 1/4 mile away for tennis and the playground.
  • If you are looking to get away and relax, you will not regret staying at this house! It is incredible inside, and the property surrounding it is absolutely beautiful. Wendy is a wonderful host - easy to communicate with and quick to reply to questions. Kitchen made it easy to prepare meals - had everything that we needed! The well water was not an issue at all. Just make sure you bring some water for drinking! Cannot wait to return and stay at this gem on Guemes Island. Absolutely perfect!

  • We absolutely loved our stay here! We wish we could have stayed longer. The house is clean and beautiful. The manual covers everything you need and is extremely helpful. We loved spending the evening by the fireplace and hanging out in the beautiful woods during the day. It's SO quiet there, we couldn't really believe it. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a nice quiet getaway.

    Travis2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time on Guemes at Wendy's place! The floor plan is very open (no walls), so keep that in mind if you'll have people in both bedrooms. Wonderful place, great amenities, super cool design, all with a super short ferry ride! We'll be booking again for a little getaway soon.

    Allie2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Eric and Wendy's house during our wedding weekend. 2 nights to be exact. We are a blended family so had 4 small boys ages 5-8 with us and our sweet old dog. The home was so perfect. Exactly what we had hoped it would be. The weather was perfect, the ferry ride was so fun for the kids and the house itself is so unique and beautiful. It felt to us like a kind of modern day tree house. The house is very secluded and private away from the road. The interior is a nice open floor plan with 2 stories, It is very modern and minimalist yet all the amenities we could possibly need. We don't watch much TV so didn't mind the lack of live TV, but appreciated the DVD player when we rented a kid friendly movie to unwind from the festivities. We also discovered a very nice park with a playground close by. At the park we met others that lived and vacationed on the island. All were extremely friendly. All this combined made us really understand why Wendy and Eric built a beautiful house there and called it home. We will definitely be back to this kid and dog friendly oasis. However, we might make it a kid FREE weekend next time to enjoy the solitude and quiet this house has to offer as well. Thanks again for making our special weekend extra special.

  • I can't say enough good things about our stay! We had high expectations that were definitely exceeded.

    Bradley2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend at Wendy and Eric's lovely home. The house itself is so well designed and decorated! We loved going on little outdoor adventures during the day and warming up by the fire at night. What a peaceful, relaxing weekend.

  • Really cool place. One of the best airbnb's that I've ever been to. Highly recommend for a couple or small family. Had fun exploring the island with the bikes they share with their guests.

On a ridge in downtown Bellingham. Mix of residential and commercial. Very walkable. Quiet private yard in the midst of the city.
  • Nicole was very kind. She contacted us to inform us the Birds Nest was ready and briefly introduced herself. She also let us know of some of the beautiful features we could enjoy during our stay.

  • Absolutely loved our stay at Nicole's place this weekend! Close to a great new brewery (Aslan), walking distance to everything in Bellingham, and the place was great. Directions on how to get there and what to do were very helpful and accurate, Nicole was extremely communicative leading up to our visit, and she even left some truffles for us to enjoy during our Valentine's Day getaway! Would definitely recommend staying at the Downtown Birds Nest to anyone!

    Alexis2015-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Bellingham Victorian Bird's Nest was a perfect location for our get away from the Florida heat. The apartment was comfortable, well equipped, and convenient for all our needs. A big plus was the co-op and bakery/coffee shop right across the street. We enjoyed walking downtown to the Farmer's Market, restrauants, and museums. The location was also an easy access to the outdoor activities available in and around Bellingham.

    Charlene2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's apartment is very comfortable, clean and well equipped for a long term stay. The location is perfect for being able to explore and access downtown Bellingham by foot. The sitting space on the back porch/deck is a great bonus and a wonderful place to relax. I would definitely stay here again when I am back in town.

    Nicki2016-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole has a lovely home with a unique, decorative flare. It's different and homey. There is a tub with shower in the bathroom, along with cozy rugs to keep your feet warm. The kitchen is well-equipped, and I adored the glasses that were provided. There's a large sitting room towards the front and a porch with swing and chair on the back, where you will come into the place. The bed was comfortable, and the breeze from the double windows felt wonderful. The last evening, it decided to rain, and although my company was inside, I stood outside on the back porch just watching and touching the rain. It was a perfect nook to meditate, relax, and people watch from afar. I appreciate that Nicole took the time to greet us when we arrived. She showed us around a bit, and made us feel welcome.

  • Great location within walking distance to downtown, but also tucked away on a side street so it was quiet. The place itself was clean, well decorated, and overall a great place to stay. I'd definitely stay here again.

This cozy cottage retreat sits on our small, organic farm just 20 minutes north of downtown Bellingham and 53 miles from the Mt Baker recreation area. We have trails right next door, road biking on quiet roads and up the hill from a wetlands and birders paradise.
This is a very comfy cottage retreat surrounded by gardens and artist studio. The little house is a one room studio with a new queen mattress, a twin platform mattress and a floor single mattress can be added for a third or fourth guest. All are made up with cotton sheets and warm comforters and/or quilts. The heating is super cozy and efficient with radiant ceiling panels just installed! The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, stove and oven. Included are servings for four guests ~ all the essentials plus coffee maker, electric tea pot, toaster, blender, hot beverage choices of coffee and tea with the basics of sugar and honey. The bathroom has a tub and shower with fresh towels and basic supplies as well as a full size washer and dryer. We have lots of books, games and puzzles for kids and adults (request for more) and lots of local resource guides.
Very quiet, green, lush countryside, lots of wildlife, adjoining horse farms on either side of our little farm and very close to incredible hiking, climbing, skiing and bicycling. Also only 20 minutes from beautiful downtown Bellingham with shopping, restaurants and entertainment.
  • Debra's cottage was an absolute dream and she truly went above and beyond to make my stay as cozy as possible! Everything was incredibly clean, the bed was super comfy and there were so many personal touches that made me feel really welcomed.. you can feel how much love and attention Debra and her family put into this cottage and it was such a treat to experience. My only regret during my stay was not having more time to spend relaxing here and soaking in her lovely property! I had the pleasure of chatting with Debra for a few minutes during my stay and she is so sweet! I would absolutely recommend Debra's cottage to anyone visiting Everson and really hope to stay here again soon!!

    Amanda2015-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • First off let me start by saying how cute this place is! Both the outside and inside was so well kept. And even though it was a rainy weekend it was the best weekend I've had by far. Not only is the place cozy the decorations are awesome. I would reccomend this to anyone who is wanting a short get away! It was so nice to have peace and quiet. Also, she thought of everything from different teas to coffee with a French press. It was such an amazing stay and I hope we can come back soon!! Thanks Debra for all the hard work you put into the cottage. It's beautiful!

    Molly2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage. It was very clean, warm, and included all amenities needed--clean towels, cooking utensils, even fresh eggs, coffee and cream. The hot tub was great and very private. I would definitely recommend staying here.

    Tanya2015-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Debra's space is just what we were looking for. It is so clean, and well stocked. The full kitchen was perfect for cooking meals. It is a studio so it is a bit small and cozy. The three of us fit perfectly in the space. Overall it was such a lovely Airbnb experience! It is certainly one of the best around. Thanks Debra!

    Abby2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very welcome and at home. An extra surprise was some fresh garden goodies in our fridge!

    Maureen2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Debra welcomed us to her cottage with a hand written note, including an invitation to select fresh veggies from her garden, had fresh eggs in the refrigerator from her chickens and hand picked flowers from her property. Linens were fresh and everything was clean and very comfortable. Her artwork adorns the walls and there are plenty of books to choose from on the shelf. The location is terrific...very close access to downtown and shopping if need be as well as about 50 minutes from Artists Point in Mt. Baker. We definitely felt welcome and recommend Debra's cottage to anyone staying in the Bellingham area that seeks a personal experience off the beaten path. Thank you very much Debra!

Our conveniently located urban farm—complete with chickens and plenty of vegetable and flower gardens—is within walking distance of downtown Bellingham, where you'll find a wide array of restaurants, coffee shops, live music venues, art exhibits, nightlife, public transport and much more. Our garden-view daylight basement apartment is great for couples, solo adventurers, friends, business travelers or someone needing a place to stay while they explore their own options for living here.
The York neighborhood is a historic one, and so is Nelson's Market, the grocery store and restaurant just up the street from us. If you walk around the neighborhood, you'll see plenty of Victorian-era houses like ours (which was built in 1900). From here, it's a 10- or 15-minute walk to the downtown core.
  • All good things to say about our stay in Amy's home. In touch was us several days before our arrival and greeted us warmly in their great yard. Colorful friendly chickens that would stroll past the windows & provided most delicious eggs!! The entire space was very comfortable & inviting. Bed was SUPER COZY & shower good water pressure & warmth. Wish we had found this home sooner as it was a REALLY good location for us.

  • Amy and Eric were wonderful hosts, welcoming and communicative. They did everything they could to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The fresh eggs and muffins Amy left for us were wonderful breakfast treats. The house is charming and warm, and the garden a lovely oasis in the city.

  • Great place. You can easily walk downtown to all the resturants and bars. Amy has the place very well stocked - shampoo, conditioner, and soap in the bathroom; muffins, eggs and delicious coffee and tea are ready and waiting. Amy's ready for anything and is ready to offer a suggestion and help plan your evening! Stop looking and stay here!

  • Comfortable space in Amys’ pretty vintage home. Amy and Eric were very warm and welcoming. The apartment had everything we needed, as well as fresh eggs from their chickens and coffee beans and grinder, and greens from their garden. Shower was perfect, nice warm water!

  • This house is situated very conveniently. Just a short walk from downtown Bellingham and a quick hop off of the freeway. The yard is gorgeous with a few chickens and well landscaped. A green Oasis in the city. Inside, the apartment is cozy, comfortable, and the bed made it very easy to get a good night's rest. The host was very easy to reach, made getting settled in a breeze, and ensured that there were a few food items in the fridge, including fresh eggs from the yard hens. I'd happily stay here again!

Sunny, cozy studio "Chalet" located in a beautiful garden space. Swim in the pool in the summer, hot tub in the winter. Fresh eggs from our chickens provided. 12 minutes from downtown, 6 minutes from the airport.
Come and relax in our sunny studio surrounded by an organic fruit and vegetable garden on our acre in semi-rural Bellingham. There is 1 Queen sized bed, a pull out love seat sized bed, a shower, washer/dryer, full kitchen and living room. Children are welcome. We have a playground and zip line in our yard to use as well. We have 15 chickens, a box turtle, 2 bunnies and 2 children.
Our neighborhood is full of very warm and friendly people. It is quiet and pretty.
  • What a great place! We loved getting out of the city and falling asleep to the sound of frogs. The gardens are beautiful and the fresh cut tulips on the table were so thoughtful. And the eggs were delicious!

  • The Chalet was a great experience. Tami was very prompt in responding to our request and such a kind person when we finally met her. Fresh eggs from her hens were in the fridge when we arrived and the place was clean, quiet and lovely. We look forward to staying there in the future!

  • Great location! Feels like your far away from the city while only being 10min from downtown! Spent the night here and then went up to Canada for the day and cam back. Loved how everything was laid out so well and clear in the house manual when I arrived.

    Arlan2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tami, Thank you for a lovely place to stay and enjoy my time in Bellingham. It is so wonderful that families like yourself open your living space so graciously to stranger and travelers.

    Carolyn2014-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Chalet was perfect! The fresh eggs were delicious, and everything I needed to cook my own meals was there for me. The hot tub is a perfect spot for peaceful star gazing. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're in the area.

  • Tami's place was charming, clean, and comfortable. She was really flexible with check in/out. We loved the little touches that really made us feel like we had taken a break from city life. Friendly chickens greeted us, fresh dahlias donned the kitchen table, and a beautiful garden in full bloom was visible from nearly every window. I only wish we could have extended our stay!

  • We had a great time!! We enjoyed the garden fresh veggies and fruits. The hot tub was very relaxing. What a fun stay!! Laura

Our newly renovated Basement Studio is awesome for anyone that is looking for a clean, modern space close to downtown Bellingham. In the historic Lettered Streets neighborhood, walk to all the great breweries and restaurants. Although this house was built in the late 1800's... the studio is new, bright, and a perfect getaway. It has it all: King Size bed, a gorgeous walk-in shower, and a mud-room to store outdoor bikes, boards, skis, and kayaks. More photos coming soon!
This space has been 100% renovated! Every aspect is new, fresh, and clean. It is the bottom floor of a 3 story home that was built in 1886! The front door opens directly to the driveway, so there is no need to haul your luggage very far. Full kitchen is provided, with a full size stove, sink, and refrigerator. We also provide a Keurig coffee maker. and moderate cooking supplies. We provide simple amenities to make you feel at home, such as a hair dryer, iron, and desk space. We also love to give people a feel for the historic charm of our old Bellingham neighborhood, so we have incorporated historic black and white photos from the Whatcom Museum. We also love the vintage inspired record player to add some ambience to the space and hope guests enjoy a record or two while they are here.
  • Cute place, convenient location.

  • This is our 4th airbnb in Bellingham (we go about once a year) and is by far the best. We envy Lindsy's sense of style (check out the photos) and the suite was spacious, clean, and well-located. Check-in and check-out were effortless, and Lindsy went the extra mile to provide useful information about Bellingham (we learned a few things although we have visited Bellingham in the past). We will be staying in Lindsy and Eli's place on our next visit.

    Cindy2017-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a a great stay in Lindsy and Eli’s place. Located a short walk from Downtown Bellingham, the unit provided everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. Our hosts gave great recommendations for things to do around town, and we were never bored.

    Lauren2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • The unit was just as described and met our needs nicely. Location was convenient to downtown and there was plenty of space for us. Kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Being on the ground floor it does have more of a daylight basement feel as you go back into the unit, but that was as described so not a surprise. Communications with the host were excellent and accessing the unit went smoothly. Overall a good value for a convenient location that was also very quiet during the night, except for the occasional train horns that you hear anywhere in Bellingham. We would certainly consider staying there again if in Bellingham.

    Robert2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great, easy, convenient space. Would stay again!

    Rebecca2018-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and charming suite on the lowest level of a cute house. On the cold side with somewhat noisy fan heaters. Very clean and comfortable. In close proximity to a Mission building that feeds a large homeless population. Close to the water. Very helpful and pleasant hosts.

Our home is a great place to experience Bellingham from! Our neighborhood is friendly and centrally located. Walking distance from breweries, bus line, and grocery store.
My husband and I live in the main house, and your space is a mother-in-law suite that shares one wall with our house. It has a private entrance and parking spot, as well as a little outdoor sitting area. It is a perfect spot for one person or a couple visiting B'ham.
Our neighborhood is right on the edge of the line between residential and commercial. We are only one street off of Meridian, where you can find breweries and restaurants within a 5 minute walk. We are a 30 second walk from a grocery store and the bus line, and only a 5 minute drive to downtown Bellingham.
  • The suite is a delight - private and peaceful with everything you need. Cayley was a great host, proactive for details of checking in and quick to respond. I'll be back!

    Linda2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Cayley's was a great home base for our stay in Bellingham. We had it for 2 days, wished we could have had it for our whole trip. It was just enough space for me and my partner, loved having the bedroom/bath and rest of the place on two separate floors. Haggens, the grocery store is literally across the street and the kitchen had a good amount of utensils to make a variety of meals, no spices other than salt and pepper though so be prepared. Awesome value for all the comforts and benefits we got out of it. Bonus is the adorable front patio area where you may catch a neighborhood cat if you're lucky.

  • Great place to stay if you are spending the weekend in Bellingham! Cayley was great at responding and provided excellent communication, especially for check-in and check-out.

  • The Pumpkin Suite is a perfect example of what an AirBnb should be. This little cozy apartment was everything my partner and I were looking for. Stylish, clean, spacious and very close to the city and a market is literally next door. Don’t skip this one!

    Carlos2018-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great amenities; a fully stocked kitchen, in suite washer and dryer. The bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood was very quiet. Cayley got back to us very quickly, as we booked on the same day we stayed there. We will definitely stay there again when we visit Bellingham.

    Judy2018-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Conveniently near a grocery store and close to a great park.

    Linda2018-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Cayley’s home was adorable and it was perfect walking distance to Haggen. I believe we were their first guests and so I’m sure it will only get better as time goes on. :)

  • The views from this home lived up to/ exceeded the gorgeous pictures online. It is serene and peaceful. The architecture of the upstairs room is magnificent. We had everything we needed including coffee and creamer. We didn’t want to leave! The drive up to the house was just resurfaced and difficult to traverse. This will only be temporary but it is quite steep as noted in the listing. Mike was very gracious and came promptly to help us find the back way in. I highly recommend this home for an amazing retreat.

  • Wonderful place with wonderful hosts. We had an amazing stay at James and Lisa's place. We had everything what we needed. Thank you Janes and Lisa for everything.

    Sami2015-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was ready for us when we arrived with great communication from our host. It is a beautiful home with an amazing view. The home was very clean and very nice. Having a beer and grilling on the deck while overlooking the ocean and other islands was a hard experience to top. Followed that up by relaxing by the wood stove. We couldn't have been happier! We would love to return someday!

  • Hello! Thank you so much for your wonderful place! I loved the dragonfly themed decor, epic views, vaulted ceilings, and your thoughtful hospitality. We had a blast with the art supplies too! We felt right at home and enjoyed the thoughtful amenities provided throughout the house (binoculars, coffee and tea, maps, movies, speakers, kitchen items, etc.) James also made it very easy to check in as we pleased and provided great recommendations for things to do around the island. He also provided very thorough instructions to find the house. Overall, a lovely stay that exceeded our expectations. Thank you!

  • This was amazing! We drove up to the space, walked inside and were blown away with not only the AMAZING view but how comfortable, clean, and fun the space was! We can't wait to tell our friends and family about this gem! Thank you and we can't wait to come back!

  • My wife and I had such a wonderful time on Orcas Island starting with this gorgeous place to stay. The view is stunning and the home welcomes you in and opens you up to relax. The host are even kind enough to offer art supplies to dabble with. I am looking forward to our next stay and I would highly recommend it to others.

Furnished double bedroom in a lovely cottage with garden sanctuary. Within walking distance of downtown, nearby parks, harbor. Light breakfast, coffee and tea service available. Use of microwave and refrigerator, dining room, outdoor deck, shared bathroom.
I will accommodate dog owners with prior arrangements. I have a well-trained dog, an outdoor gate system and dog run, and am an experienced pet sitter, should you wish to leave your pet in my care for an additional fee. I keep the house clean and, if you do not wish to interact with dog(s), I keep separate. I have a unique, bio-intensive garden and a pleasant outdoor sitting area.
Lettered Streets Neighborhood is well-located, adjacent to downtown Bellingham, local parks, the harbor, restaurants and shops. Easy, safe walking and biking pathways, close to bus line.
  • Koelle was very flexible for our 1 a.m. arrival and there is ample street parking. Bed has super comfortable memory foam mattress. Also, great high-pressure hot shower & "help yourself to anything" self-serve breakfast (w/ fresh coffee) were a real treat in the morning. Our stay was brief & on short notice - we were very pleased and would stay here again without hesitation!

    Andrew2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle's home and garden is lovely and conveniently located. The amenities that she offered were far above what I was expecting to find in a room and I will happily stay with her again.

    Emily2017-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great walk to downtown and Koelle is easy to chat with and has lots of info about the area. When confirming with her to bring a dog and making arrangements to pay for her taking care of them while out and about (which is great and affordable), we didn’t think to check what that schedule would look like. We also didn’t ask if other dogs would be there at that time besides hers, which could be hard to do if u book in advance.

    MaryRose2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay! Highky recommended it.

    Judy2018-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Koell's place was a great place to stop in for the afternoon and night on my way through Bellingham. Koell was there to welcome and get me settled in. Her dog Kami is well behaved and I enjoyed meeting her as well. Koell was super nice and gave me plenty of suggestions to keep busy around the city. She provided a small breakfast in the morning, which I though was fantastic. I would stay with her again if I am passing through.

    Adam2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Best Airbnb experience to date. Thanks again Koelle.

    Steve2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Koelle's house is one of that unique combination of comfort and elegance in a non-stuffy way. The house is inviting, the set-up/arrangement is fantastic and it is very close to some wonderful Resturants and other fun things to do. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

    Leticia2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Koelle was above our expectations. She was very helpful with suggestions for local food and entertainment. The room was very clean and everything we needed for our stay. We wouldn't hesitate to stay with Koelle again.

Location is excellent. 5 to 15 mintues to everything. Very thoughtful things in the apartment. And extremely clean. Easy in and out. Having a garage is super cool. Really appreciated the comfy bed and the space heater. Coming from Miami it helped a lot. :) I have chemical sensitivities and this place was so easy to breathe easy. Thanks! Highly recommend.
