Just booked in Asheville
Beautiful, inspiring and peaceful.
A peaceful retreat awaits you in the trees just outside of West Asheville's "locals" downtown! Walkable to Haywood Rd and all our excellent neighborhood restaurants, art and yoga studios, farmers market and pubs. Or you can borrow a bike from us and zip into town. Note: Our house is in a dense suburban residential neighborhood and not outside of town. We have neighbors on all sides but we are lucky that our house is in an urban forest that affords privacy. This is a quiet place to write and rest or just commune with the big oaks around your private deck. The studio apartment is below the main house which has its own entrance and outdoor space. Our family lives above and we are very respectful of your privacy. The studio is SMALL one room space (12x15) but well equipped with a hot plate, under counter fridge, small table and 2 chairs and a queen size bed. You have your own small bathroom with 3x3 shower and toilet. Bathroom sink is in kitchenette. A laundry room is right next door and is also available. If you are looking for an unique space that is peaceful and quiet but part of a vibrant creative community you will enjoy staying with us and we will enjoy hosting you!
West Asheville is the best! Quiet and neighborly, it's not like downtown Asheville with hotels and so many tourists but you can get there or the parkway or the Biltmore very quickly by car. Downtown, five minutes, everywhere else, ten minutes. We have our own downtown in West Asheville and there's many excellent restaurants and music venues within walking or biking distance.
  • We enjoyed our stay.

  • We LOVED staying at Sanctuary in the Trees. Maria was so accommodating and went out of her way to make us feel at home. We will definitely be back to stay in this sweet little space!

  • Enjoyed our stay - it was quiet and fit our needs - close to Biltmore and restaurants.

  • Maria and Jakub were very welcoming and their home was BEAUTIFUL! We really enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying a cup of coffee, taking in the beauty. The hosts were very accommodating and all of our needs were met. The neighborhood was cozy and friendly. I would love to go back!

  • Jakub & Maria were warm and welcoming. I arrived much later than anticipated and they were very accommodating. When I arrived they were hosting a lovely group of friends and neighbors playing bongos around a fire and invited me to join. The space was just what I was hoping for. Very quiet with a feeling of total privacy. I came and went freely but felt they were available if I needed anything. I would highly recommend Jakub & Maria's sanctuary and would absolutely stay there again!

  • This house was amazing! We had a very peaceful stay. Maria and Jakub were wonderful. Hope to return soon!

  • We had a great time in Asheville and loved the room, the setting was spectacular. You can walk to the main West Asheville strip on Haywood St (about a mile) and get all types of food and drink. Unfortunately, our stay happened during a winter storm so we couldn't take advantage of the porch, or outdoors in general, and the cold and icy conditions caused issues most travelers won't have to worry about. The stairs and path from the driveway down to the apartment were covered in ice our entire stay so it was an adventure every time we left and returned. Also because of the extreme weather, the outdoor condensing unit for the house above kept kicking on and was pretty loud. We'd definitely stay here again-- I'm sure if the weather cooperated it would have been one of the most relaxing/rejuvenating rooms we've stayed in.

Come escape to our tiny modern off grid cabin situated in the middle of our private 125 acre gated mountain top property backing up to Pisgah National Forest. Enjoy soaring views, proximity to hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and sleep in a comfy bed...just 25 minutes to downtown Asheville! All dogs are welcome!
Wake up to a breath taking mountain view amidst the trees! Hike our nearby trail along the creek or drive 4 miles to the top of mount pisgah and hike along the blue ridge parkway! You can be in downtown Asheville in 25 minutes to enjoy all the amazing food, breweries, and art galleries. The cabin has a comfortable queen size bed, a propane 2 burner cook stove, solar generator for cabin lights and to plug in cell phones and lap top (if there is sun!), some cell phone service depending who your provider is, a water cooler for drinking and washing, propane heater if its cold, and a very clean outhouse. There is an outdoor shower fed by our rainwater collection system that is open seasonally April-October. As a back up shower, we have a solar shower (5 gallon shower bag) you can use year around as needed...but it would still be an outdoor shower so in the winter it could get chilly out there. Attached to the cabin is a very clean porta potty with mountain views that is emptied weekly on Monday mornings sometime between 8-11am. We have an outdoor fire pit a short stroll from the cabin for making s'mores and cooking- bring your own firewood or buy some from my neighbor. Check out our sweet 2 person swing with epic views! The glass garage door on the front of the cabin opens to beautiful mountain views (it has a roll down bug screen). The cabin is heated by a propane heater during the winter. Bring your own battery operated fans in the summer. You will need to bring your own cooler with ice in it (there is no fridge) and your own towels for bathing. Bed linens will be provided. Basic cook ware, tea pot and coffee press are provided. We leave a couple 5 gallon jugs of water for you to drink and wash dishes in, but you may want to bring your own drinking water. There are 2 chairs and a fold out table. We provide some board games and books for your entertainment. We love dogs and know how hard it is to find a place that allows them to come on vacation with you! Potty trained, well behaved dogs of any size are welcome! Bring their crates and beds. They will need to be left in a crate if left indoors without you there. Please do not request dates that are not available on the calendar. Our calendar is up to date and accurate. We have a flexible cancellation policy which means that people do cancel on us...so check back in to look at the calendar every once in a while and you may find new available dates. If you can't find the dates you want, check out our other cabin on our property which has beautiful views, and a sweet fire pit right next to it. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21102715?s=51 VERY IMPORTANT TO READ BEFORE YOU BOOK: Our road is steep and there are rough patches in the pavement leading up to our gate. All cars can make it up our mountain, but if you are concerned about your car making it, or are scared of driving in the mountains, then this cabin may not be a great fit for you. There are animals in the woods and around the cabin. There are coyotes, bears, bobcats, fox, deer, snakes and turkey. For the safety of your dogs, it is best to keep them on a leash. Use the swing at your own risk. It is super fun...and hangs off the edge of the mountain...which makes it even more fun....but please be careful. The outdoor shower may not always work, even during it's open season. That is why we have the back up solar shower bag for you to use. When we are available, we are happy to come up and get the shower up and running again...but please be aware that this is an off grid cabin and some things take a little extra tinkering to get them to work. The outdoor solar shower bag is available to be used year around as long as it isn't too cold for you to shower outside! I have a nice list of other places to take showers during your stay in the winter. The solar generator is there to run the lights in the cabin and plug in your cell phone. Please do not use it for anything else. If the guest right before you runs the solar generator out of battery power, then you may have to wait a while for the sun to recharge it. If there is no sun to recharge it, then there will be no electricity. Bring a lantern or flashlight along in case this scenario happens. The toilet is serviced on Monday mornings sometime between 8-11am by a pump truck. He has to walk across the front deck to get to the toilet.
The proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway and all the hiking trails nearby make this neighborhood special!
  • Beautiful place!

  • Amazing! There needs to be more places like this. If you're looking for a dope place to stay with incredible atmosphere, unique construction, and privacy, HERE IT IS! Tip: bring a coller if you want to keep cold food.

  • Pictures do not do the cabin justice. It was everything we hoped for. Haley was a wonderful host that kept in touch and answered every question we had. I would highly recommend the cabin to anyone who is looking.

    Matthew2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly what I was looking for; a quiet, secluded, off-the-grid, but nice spot in the mountains

    Cj2017-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • My dogs and I had an amazing time at the cabin. Soon after booking, Haley messaged us with all the details for driving to the cabin, working the heater, and checking in and checking out. The cabin itself was perfect, small but with all the essentials - water, heater, power for lights and charging phones, cooking supplies, and a clean outhouse. Haley even came out and brought us extra toilet paper and helped us get the heater running. We'll definitely be making plans to come back soon!

    Darya2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • If you are wanting a great weekend away in the woods, DEFINITELY give the cabin a try! One of the best experiences

Located along the Swannonoa River only 12 minutes from downtown Asheville, this quaint space is a perfect getaway for a romantic weekend or a personal retreat. Jacuzzi tub for two, private wooded porches w/hammock, and swing make this a sweet mountain getaway.
Relax on the hammock and enjoy the sounds of the river on the porch swing. The comfortable, private porch is the perfect place for reading, relaxing, and enjoying an afternoon beverage. Enjoy a Jacuzzi tub for two and wind down. The studio is accessed through a private entrance with private parking and features a queen size bed and a queen size sleeper sofa, flat screen tv with Netflix and Hulu streaming services, DVD player, fridge, coffee maker, tea kettle, and microwave. Coffee, tea, and chilled water are provided. Studio is stocked with care. Books, games, and art supplies for a creative and relaxing vacation. The property is located in a house perched in the trees--ideal bird watching and spotting wild turkeys, river otters, blue herons, beavers, ducks, and the occasional black bear. The river is only accessible via a short walk across the street and down the riverbank. Please note that while actual treehouses are amazing, this is a "treehouse," meaning a studio within a house in the trees! We just want to be clear.
This east Asheville neighborhood is a gorgeously wooded, private refuge with easy access to Asheville's best spots. 12 minutes to Downtown Asheville 3 minutes to Blue Ridge Parkway 5 minutes to Warren Wilson College 15 minutes to Bilmore Estate Creekside Tavern, Filo Bakery, MoJo Coffee Truck, Pomodoro's, and the world's best taco truck are only minutes away on Asheville's eastside. Our neighborhood is a quiet, residential locale. Our priority is to respect our neighbors. You'll often find kids and pups navigating our winding neighborhood roads. It is essential that all guests drive slowly and carefully!
  • The apartment was gorgeous. The sound of the river from the porch swing was perfect. And the jacuzzi was heavenly. Just what my wife and I needed to relax while attending a wedding in Asheville.

  • Heather was a great host. I loved all the little hospitality treasures inside the apartment (a binder full of attraction and dinner recommendations), toiletries, water, and coffee. We had a wonderful stay at the Treehouse Studio.

  • Loved the experience! Would highly recommend!

  • Enjoyed our stay! Such an awesome neighborhood (my girlfriend saw a bear as we were leaving and she was beary excited). Heather had a lot of awesome recommendations and we visited a few of them! Will be back.

    David2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Heather's place and it was just as awesome as we remembered! The location was perfect for us. The house is on a quiet, tree-lined street in the hills, right next to a lovely river. We really loved the peacefulness of it! It's also very convenient to downtown Asheville (about a 7-10 minute drive) and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It really is the best of both worlds! The studio was exactly as advertised. It had been professionally cleaned before we arrived and stocked with coffee, tea, and treats. There was a packet full of recommendations for fun things to do and great places to eat in Asheville. We really had everything we needed for our stay! Heather was so friendly and welcoming, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in her space. It was our second time staying there, and we plan on staying again the next time we're in Asheville!

    Caroline2017-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Heather place was great! We wanted a quiet escape from downtown Asheville, and this was just the place. Although you couldn't see the river from the Treehouse, you could hear it while sitting on the patio. It was a great way to sip coffee and start our morning! The place was very clean and easily accessible to mountains and downtown. Heather was also very helpful in identifying local attractions. I would highly recommend staying in this adorable spot!

    Jennifer2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • It was lovely. Nestled right into the woods and super private. Heather was super helpful and had great recommendations for two people coming to Asheville for the first time. Absolutely worth it. Would book again.

    Ben2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Super cozy, quaint retreat spot! About a 15 min drive from downtown Asheville if reading/chilling in a hammock and listening to the soothing sounds of a rolling river gets old. My husband would like to point out that it was the most comfortable bed he's slept in outside of our home bed, and that's an incredibly high review itself. Bathroom is A++ with its cushy towels and spacious tub. All in all, a great getaway weekend spot. Wish we had more time to explore. Also, Heather was very accommodating and easy to communicate with.

The best of both worlds! Quiet, secluded country cottage only six minutes from downtown Asheville. Sip your morning coffee on a private brick patio surrounded by large trees and singing birds. Enjoy easy access to West Asheville's restaurant scene. If you'd rather have your own private porch and deck with great views of the surrounding trees, check out our upstairs unit. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1950593 Please read the HOUSE RULES before booking. Most importantly, we only have parking for ONE CAR per unit, and only allow two people maximum per unit, no exceptions! (If you have an extra car you'll have to leave it in a parking garage downtown.) This private apartment is the ground floor of our our cozy gated home at the end of one lane gravel road. We live in the little house in the backyard. In front of our house is the Crown Plaza golf course and mountain bike trail. The apartment is fully furnished, including a fully equipped kitchen with a full fridge, microwave, four-burner stove & oven, a coffee maker, a toaster and a blender (perfect for breakfast smoothies!) It includes Wireless Internet, off street parking for one car, complimentary coffee and tea. All linens and towels provided. We also provide shower gel, shampoo and hair conditioner so you don't have to pack these bulky items! Electric heating with two separate thermostats keeps the apartment at an optimum comfortable temperature. A window air conditioner unit is provided in the summer months. The bathroom has a custom-tiled double shower with glass doors, underfloor heating (great for keeping your toes warm!) and plenty of storage for your toiletries. The apartment is not suitable for children as it is not childproofed. The bed is a queen size. We are surrounded by trees and wild spaces, which makes it perfect for the wildlife that live here. We have raccoons, opossums, red foxes, woodchucks, chipmunks, squirrels and the occasional coyote. Our bird-friendly yard is home to over 20 different species of birds including a resident pair of red-shouldered hawks and a screech owl family. Our house is only 45 minutes away from the Cataloochee valley in the Smoky Mountains National Park. The valley is known for its elk and black bear population. The east side of the Smokies is great as it is less touristy than further west. It is a great place for a day trip! Enjoy the benefits of living close to Downtown and recharge your batteries in our tranquil home.
  • Unfortunately Hal and Christina were unable to meet us when we arrived (they were out of town), however they did make us awear of this ahead of time and provided us with the contact info for the gentlemen who was watching over their Airbnb rentals. They also provided us with a hand written note welcoming us to their place, and reminding us they were out of town. The neighborhood was cute and quiet, and the bottom floor unit was just what we expected. We loved the dirt road leading up to the house! Some of the highlights included the comfy bed, spacious shower, and the relaxing sound of the bugs chirping at night. We didn't even turn on the AC the entire time because it felt so nice. The distance from downtown Asheville was perfect, and we were able to call an Uber driver when we wanted to go out and not worry about parking (about $10 fare). Overall the place was great! For the price it was just perfect for what we were looking for.

    Natalie2015-08-17T00:00:00Z

SparkleBark Farm offers our open air guest cabin to those who want the comfort of a bed while enjoying the same breezes, wild flowers, fireflies, and early morning mist that you'd have while camping. Just a 15 minute drive away from downtown Asheville, NC.
Sparklebark Farm is a small-scale organic farm and homestead. For the past four years Zac and Bea, the owners, have been collaborating with a revolving cast of incredibly talented friends to make this land a model of sustainability, as well as natural and artistic beauty. We grow a ton of vegetables as well as flowers and keep flocks of free range chickens and ducks. Bea is a fine artist who makes beautiful nature-based drawings (check out her (email hidden)), and Zac is a builder and woodworker who has been pouring his heart into beautifying and constructing buildings and infrastructure at Sparklebark. Our vision is to continue to steward and beautify the land through agriculture as well as art, we are so excited to share this little slice of paradise!
Our neighborhood is the nearby mountain range. We live on seven acres of land, and rarely see or hear our neighbors. Sometimes if the wind is blowing the right way, you can hear the laughter of the children who live on the other side of the valley. We enjoy the rural setting but can be at any location in Asheville in under 15 minutes and on the blue ridge parkway or deep in the woods in 20!
  • We had a very low key and enjoyable stay

  • Had the best experience!! We will absolutely be back!

    Sarah2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing experience and if I'm in the area again I would love to go back. I had all the privacy I wanted but the hosts were there if I needed help. I only wish I could have stayed longer!

    Ellen2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I visited Asheville for a few days retreat for her birthday, and found accommodations at Sparklebark. It turned out to be a great and memorable retreat. This being the first Airbnb experience, we were not sure what to expect. Sparklebark turned out to have more amenities then expected. It is fully electric, equipped with beautiful hand made furniture and has a spectacular eco friendly “powder room”. The farm is set outside city limits and has a peaceful and secluded atmosphere, which is great for a romantic getaway. Although the rain was a constant presence on our trip, Sparklebarks guest space remained comfortable and the sound of the rain was a harmonious rhythm around us. Not only was the space a pleasure, Zac and Bea were a joy to interact with. They are quick to respond to online inquiries. They were not intrusive, but were friendly and willing to share local knowledge. All in all a wonderful stay! We would absolutely recommend staying here, and will be back again ourselves.

  • Beautiful little treehouse! Loved everything about my stay! Great escape into the trees!

    Kassandra2018-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sparklebark was fantastic. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet Zac, Bea, and baby Santiago, but they checked in with me during my stay to make sure everything was good, which I appreciated! The property is beautiful - I just got to see the last of the gardens, which are probably incredible in the summer. There were so many sweet little touches around the property and everything was a work of art. The bed was super comfortable. I will definitely be back to visit.

Quiet country life in a private community, just minutes from downtown Asheville. We have a small herd of sweet, friendly miniature goats which would love your attention. We often have kids (baby goats) too. Come for the fabulous hiking, the award winning restaurants, and a little goat therapy too.
Contemporary studio apartment, suitable for one person or a couple (one double bed). Living room with flat-screen TV (DVD player and Roku) and wireless internet provided, bedroom area with very comfortable double bed (all linens provided), fully stocked kitchen large dorm size refrigerator and separate small freezer, bathroom with shower. 7 miles or 10 minutes from downtown Asheville in east Asheville. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway and awesome hiking spots. We are situated in a 3-home private eco-community in the mountains right outside the city (Asheville). We have small dairy goats, vegetable gardens and live a quiet sustainable country life with Asheville's nightlife, restaurants, theaters, and fantastic hiking only a short 10 minute drive away. Studio apartment is very private with separate parking and private patio overlooking trees, goats pastures, and cow pastures. We are in the country outside Asheville (but only 7 miles)-- buses don't run out here so it's important to have your own transportation. We don't use cable TV anymore but have endless entertainment on Roku-- we have subscriptions for Netflix and HuluPlus and Amazon Video for both movies and TV shows. We have self-check-in and instant booking available. IMPORTANT: We have a lovely sweet labrador retriever, who is a rambunctious and super friendly 7 year old, and two cats. If you are afraid of dogs or don't like them, you should probably consider something else. Animals are NOT permitted in the studio apartment. Also, the goat area is fenced in with high voltage electric wire to keep predators out. Inside the goats pen, feel free to play with the goats! They are very friendly.
  • My host, Julia, could not have made me feel more welcome. She respected my privacy but was always available to answer my questions.

    Brian2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful stay! Julia was there to greet us, as was pre arranged. The cottage is immaculate. It is truly a little gem just 10 minutes from downtown. We enjoyed every minute of it .

    Leanne2015-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely! Just Lovely! (those are my husband's words). I must start off by saying this is our first experience with airbnb and I am very particular about cleanliness and my standards are high. I was sceptical about the process too. However, after staying at Julia's Eco Cottage all of my fears are gone. "Nest" is a perfect word to describe her place because it is so cozy and has everything you might need when away from home; even the feeling of being home. I wished we could have stayed longer but we have decided that Julia's plave is our new favorite place to stay in Asheville. The 10 minute drive to downtown was not a problem as you are literally right off the interstate and to be within walking distance will cost you dearly. Best of all is that Julia's cottage was so affordable that we had extra money to spend on local shopping and dining in the amazing restaurants Asheville has to offer. We will be using Airbnb for every trip we take in the future. Even our upcoming trip to Europe!

    Cindy2012-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • I will be recommending this quaint, studio apartment to everyone. Julia, her lovely lab Milo and the goats were all so sweet. They made us feel very welcome and were certainly accommodating. The studio was in great shape, very clean and had all new amenities. Julia left us maps for beautiful nearby trails (I recommend the Blue Ridge Parkway Trail as the view is spectacular) and even made sure we knew how to find them. The residence is located about 10 minutes outside the city and is an easy, beautiful drive. We definitely hope to be back soon!

    Nick2014-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • I can't say enough wonderful things about this space! The living area is pleasant and cozy without being cramped. I was traveling alone on this particular trip and while I enjoyed having the place to myself, I think it would work well for a couple (provided they were comfortable sharing a dresser and storage area). The kitchen area was very nicely appointed and I enjoyed making myself breakfast three out of the four mornings I was there. As an aside, a good portion of the cookware is cast iron, which was an added plus for me. The house is easy to get to from downtown Asheville--I was usually able to get in and out in about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. There is a very friendly dog on the premises, as well as various goats and chickens behind a locked gate off to the side of the apartment entrance. Animal lovers will find this place especially memorable and wonderful. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd love to return for future visits.

    Will2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing visit! The studio is super clean, cute and well equipt with everything you might need. We got to meet some preciousssss week old goats, and enjoyed every suggestion Julia gave us for places to go see and eat around town. I highly reccomend this studio and will hopefully be back in the near future!

  • We came up to spend NYE in Asheville and Julia's studio was perfect. It was exactly what we were looking for. It is just enough outside of downtown to enjoy the quiet outdoors but not so far to enjoy all the restaurants and live music.. Julia was very accommodating and a wonderful host. We will definitely stay here again.

  • The Urban Oasis was absolutely wonderful. The place looks exactly like the pictures. We were greeted by a bottle of wine and a sweet note. The bed was extremely comfortable. The hot tub was perfect- sitting in an outdoor hot tub while it's snowing was an incredible experience. The neighborhood was perfect- we traveled without a car and were easily able to walk to lots of great restaurants. I would 100% recommend the Urban Oasis to everyone.

  • The "Urban Oasis" was just that - an urban oasis, as it is tucked away on a a side street in West Asheville. Dave and Melissa were very accommodating, as they were easy reach and respected our privacy. The location is ideal - many bars and restaurants are within walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the relaxing hot tub. We hope to return to both Asheville and Urban Oasis. Excellent Air BnB experience!

  • Melissa and David made us feel incredibly welcome, from the personalized greeting to the travel toiletries provided in the bathroom. The apartment was as cozy and comfortable as shown in the pictures, although we were so busy during our time in Asheville that we didn't get a chance to use the hot tub (sadly!). The apartment is on the lower level of a house in West Asheville and is very close to a number of great restaurants (a couple of which we tried out and others we will have to check out next time!). The house is on a narrow street with neighboring houses not much to look at (slightly run down), but not unsafe, and the price and the comfort of the apartment are certainly a major plus! Would definitely stay here again if renting through Airbnb in Asheville.

    Elizabeth2015-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was a wonderful place to stay. It was very clean, the hosts were easy to communicate with and very welcoming. The hot tub is definitely a plus. It should be noted that while the natural view in the back is beautiful and feels like an urban oasis, this location is close to the highway and you can hear the road traffic.

  • This was my second stay at the Urban Oasis and definitely not my last! The home is so cozy, clean, and charming. I absolutely love the porch and yard. The home is so close to some of my favorite W AVL destinations - Biscuit Head, New Belgium, Isis to name a few. Melissa and David take great care of their home and are so attentive. I can't wait to return!

  • Great place within walking distance of several restaruants and shops in West Asheville. Location is a nice compliment to the downtown experience.

    Joseph2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a great little spot for our weekend getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and a small fire in the backyard. The bed was also incredibly comfy! Would highly recommend staying here on a visit to Asheville!

    Holly2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • As people have noted you can hear the neighbors walking upstairs but it's really not that big of a deal. The one thing I wish I had known was that there is no door to the bedroom it's just separated by drapes. Otherwise a great little place in a good location!

Clean, modest 1969 mobile home on a small organic farm. Accommodates up to 4 people. Continental breakfast included. Kitchenette; private bathroom. The advantages of country life just 15 min from Asheville and 8 min from Weaverville: see birds, rabbits, turkeys and deer; enjoy great restaurants and breweries nearby. We are in the Blue Ridge mountains of beautiful Western North Carolina, so there are many opportunities for hiking, fishing, whitewater sports, or just relaxing.
Our place is in a quiet, rustic area surrounded by a few neighbors. It is on a dirt/gravel road at the bottom of a steep hill, so expect bumps along the way. It is ideal for people who like camping and are looking to unplug, since there is no Wi-Fi and cell phone reception may be spotty depending on your carrier. Also, there are fans but no A/C. The home is in a shaded area, so it stays pretty cool most of the time. The space has a queen-size bed, a full-size bed, and a queen-size air mattress that we set up for the 5th and 6th guests . If you book for 2 people, please specify if you are OK sharing or would like separate beds. In the kitchenette area, you'll have a sink, regular-sized fridge available to store your food, coffee maker, two-burner hot plate, microwave, toaster, basic pots, pans, plates, and flatware. There is also a basic bathroom with a hot shower and flush toilet. In the winter, the road to our place can get icy; you should be prepared to park at the top of the hill if your car does not have 4-wheel drive. The neighborhood has a combination of traditionally built houses and mobile homes, which is pretty common in rural Appalachia. Since it is outside of town limits, the area gets pretty dark at night: perfect for stargazing, but big-city folks may not be used to it.
Quiet, rural setting. Dirt/gravel road; expect bumps along the way. The neighborhood, which is very safe, has a combination of mobile homes and traditionally built houses. If you live in a suburban area, you may not be used to this, but it is pretty common in rural Appalachia. Conveniently close to Weaverville (quaint shops & restaurants), Asheville (breweries, restaurants, music scene, Biltmore house) and mostly everywhere in this corner of the Blue Ridge Mountains (hiking, whitewater rafting, waterfalls, horseback riding, ski resorts).
  • Clean, cheap place to stay for an overnight trip.

    Amelia2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay here! It was a cute place and it felt like we were camping in the middle of nature with the added benefit of a bed and shower. Maria was an amazing host and even left us some food for breakfast and s'mores (they have a fire pit outside) in the fridge.

    Lyndsay2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a secluded get away

    Halie2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous getaway, great hosts, and wonderful stars at night! I arrived to a fire already made just waiting for a match, and a plate of s’mores ingredients awaiting my roasting. Maria was very flexible with check in times and made the whole process easy and hassle free. 10/10 would stay again.

    Brooks2018-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great location in the mountains! Quaint, clean, simple & very responsive hosts. No AC, but the windows and fan kept us cool in the evening.

    Jennifer2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • I loved the small touches: fresh wildflowers in the trailer, s'more makings in the fridge, books. As a city girl (though one who spends a lot of time in the woods), I did feel a little nervous about being out there solo. Mike assured me, though, that the neighbors are friends and I'd only hear animal sounds. He was right. It was a peaceful stay.

    Monette2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking to get away and unwind this is the place for you. We enjoyed our time in this home with limited wifi and little service. Maria was super thoughtful and gave tons of recommendations on food and activities in the area.

The "rad pad" is a 600 square foot open, airy, modern nest just two blocks off of funky West Asheville's Haywood Road. Our neighborhood is HIGHLY walkable with tons of restaurants, coffee shops and other goodies just a short walk away! We offer safe and secure off road parking directly above your abode. We'd love to have ya...p.s. we've been "superhosts" every quarter since we made our space available to our lovely guests.
One huge studio with milk stained wood ceiling and large beams, shower with floor to ceiling subway tile, concrete floors throughout, kitchenette with coffee maker, mini fridge and toaster oven (not that you should eat in while you're here, but maybe you need to heat up those left overs?). The bathroom has two specific areas, a shower area with sink and nice table for toiletries and another space with the toilet and another sink, with drawers for clothing or toiletries. The bed is a super comfy queen with down pillows and comforter. We also provide slippers and robes for our guests to feel like the kings and queens you are! Please enjoy the front porch/stoop of your pad and the provided chairs, too!
West is BEST! West Asheville is where most of the artists in this city live, as well as an eclectic mix of other vibrant people. We're a middle class neighborhood with a touch of grit and a whole lot of revival.
  • Meg was such a helpful host to us. The place looked amazing and was very easy to get to. Super close to almost everything in Asheville. Would definitely stay there again next time I visit Asheville.

    Ben2015-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Meg's house was absolutely AMAZING. The bathroom felt like a spa. The house is also in great location that is within walking distance of good bars, restaurants and shops. The checkin/checkout process was easy and overall we had an incredible stay.

    Jamieson2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • West Asheville was awesome, and we felt very safe in the neighborhood where we were located. Had everything we needed, and loved the cute space!

    Michelle2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! The space was large, clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The walk-in shower was amazing and the front patio was a great place to enjoy our coffee in the morning. The neighborhood has a lot of character and offered several great places within walking distance. Meg was a lovely host and offered us a great recommendation on where to go for a day hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway. If I ever find myself back in Asheville, I would love to stay here again!

    Nicole2015-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The space was exactly as advertised. Very cute, very clean. Quiet family neighborhood. Meg left us a list of places to see / eat, etc. both in West Asheville and in downtown Asheville, which was very helpful. She greeted us the day after out arrival and was warm and welcoming. There were nice clean towels, a bathrobe, soft linens. All makings for coffee, which we enjoyed on the little front porch. Plus beer and water in fridge. Would definitely stay there are again.

    Pat2015-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome home, awesome neighborhood, awesome city! We barely had to use our car the entire time we were there as there's lots of good restaurants, bars, venues and farmers markets right in the neighborhood. The Rad Pad is also right off the bus line. Such a lovely trip! Most excellent Air B n B.

    Meagan2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I traveled to Asheville for a long weekend and the rad pad was absolutely perfect for us. Great location in terms of cool restaurants/bars that are walkable distance but also just a short and easy drive from the downtown area with lots of amazing breweries. The space was quiet, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Hosts were extremely hospitable and easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend to other travelers.

A lovely 1 bed/1 full bath in W Asheville east walkable to many restaurants, cider house, and brewery. This is a chemical free apt where i don't use harsh chemicals in cleaning or in laundry. Serene location, yet close to it all. There are some essential oils used in products.
A beautifully done private one bedroom with QUEEN bed, one full bath with stained concrete flooring, 9 foot high ceilings, non-VOC paint, PVC free shower curtain, all natural Jute throw rugs (no chemical carpets!). The one bedroom can be closed for privacy from the living room/kitchen. NOTE: While I do not use chemicals in cleaning etc, if you have MCS, please contact me prior to instant booking. I cannot guarantee that you will be ok here. I've had a one MCS person stay here frequently just fine and one other who could not stay. There is also a cat that lives upstairs with me and we do share the air via AC/heat vents. There are also two very sweet semi-feral kitties that live in the garage. Please do not book if you have an extreme allergy to cats as I cannot guarantee if you'll react or not. Fully equipped kitchen (with an added microwave now) with stainless steel ware (no telfon!), pots/pans/drinking glasses/mugs organic cream, olive oil/balsamic/sea salt/pepper and a few things in fridge welcome to all. NOTE: fridge in pic has been changed to a smaller dorm sized one (with some freezer space). It has a stove, dishwasher and small mini fridge with a good sized freezer. The couch and chair are a white cotton chenille from Pottery Barn (so not synthetic). There is also an Austin Air filter (one of the best kinds) in the space and gives the added benefit of white noise if you need. (but it is very quiet here as it is). You have access to laundry (washer and dryer) in the garage which is just off your apt. There is a brand new 32" flat screen smart TV with Netflix to stream from and other kind of channels on smart TV (not cable or antennae). (note: the TV in the picture was damaged and replaced with a new 32"). In addition to the sheets and pillow cases, I also wash the duvet cover after each guests (this is so important to me when traveling) and you get (of course) many fresh towels under the sink. Most everything you need is here - including papertowels, tooth floss, cotton balls, Q tips, pens, paper etc. Extra blankets in the foot stool. I am chemically sensitive and have a hard time when I travel due to fragrance and toxic chemicals used in cleaning products and am happy to offer this to those like me (or anyone for that matter!). It is a strict rule that you also are CHEMICAL FREE while staying here. Synthetic chemicals linger for weeks and settle into furniture and this is geared for those who wish for a healthy chemical free environment. I only use green, effective, and non-toxic products in laundry, cleaning, bath and kitchen. Essential oils are ok and some of the products I offer have essential oils in them - for totally scent free products, please just request as I have these too. You will also be provided with a selection of shampoos/conditioners and other bodycare items to use - all natural (no harsh chemicals). I also provide 1 gallon of filtered water for your stay to get you started before you can get to the store if you only drink filtered water, granola bars, and organic coffee and tea and a bottle of red. The apt is in the lower half of my house and is a private and complete living space - the stairs that connect are not used - doors stayed locked and shut. I live upstairs and practically tip toe when I walk - so you don't get much if any overhead noise. This is a quiet place with no road noise...only the sounds of birds ! While it's officially a basement apt, it doesn't feel that way as the ceiling are high and you have windows with great sun. The apt is not "underground".
I love this neighborhood due to its country feel, but within walking distance to many things.
  • We had a fantastic time at Susan's place. The apartment was super clean, very nicely decorated, and had absolutely everything one could need and much more. We greatly appreciated the location away from the city, but still walkable to most places. We walked downtown with no problem (approximately 35 - 40 minutes of pleasant walk weather permitted). The bird feeder outside a kitchen window was absolutely precious. And then comes Susan, one of the best hosts who is very accommodating and very respectful of ones' privacy. Thank you Susan for making our stay and our first trip to Asheville such a success!

    Ivona2015-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely WONDERFUL time at Susan's place!! First of all, it's nestled into the most beautiful location--private and green even though you're so close to so much. We counted eighteen bird species by the house! And it's beautiful (and SO CLEAN) inside, too. As vegans, we loved the fact that all of the products, from cleaners to lotion to shampoo, were cruelty-free. (Note to fellow vegans: Susan is happy to provide vegan creamer alongside the delicious organic coffee she has there, and the local grocery has almond, coconut, and soy creamers!) Susan was an excellent host: she was a perfect balance of accessible but not in-your-face.

    Gretchen2015-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place to stay! It's nested in a quiet neighborhood, yet still in the River Arts District. Susan was very friendly, and even left us a bottle of wine! The natural soaps she has available are great. We loved taking walks in the fall weather to all the great restaurants in the area. It's also a very quick drive to downtown. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay.

    Emily2015-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was exactly what we needed for our stopover in Asheville! The neighborhood felt safe and inviting. We had a great dinner at a restaurant minutes away and walked home to the sound of crickets chirping in the distance. The name of the road aptly described the magical and cool morning.. Susan was a great host and had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable.

    Peter2015-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, modern, and comfortable, we found Susan's lovely apartment a great place to stay for our weekend exploring Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Susan was kind enough to provide scent-free personal care items, coffee and tea, and a printed list of surrounding places of interest, complete with walking and driving instructions. The house is located down a gravel road in a quiet, shaded neighborhood, which made the location all the more peaceful and relaxing. Although there are a handful of local restaurants/shops within easy walking distance, the main "city center" of Asheville is a bit farther away from the apartment.

    Melissa2015-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place was so charming! The place felt like a home - it was very relaxing & comfortable. Susan was very attentive & hoped to only make sure that we have the best experience in Asheville as possible.

    Lindsey2016-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth’s home is a quiet tucked away nest close to everything you want to do in Asheville!

    Jessica2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place was great - conveniently located and super clean. We really enjoyed the thoughtful touches (snacks, bottled water, coffee) and notes around the house were helpful. Parking was not a problem in our small car but a bigger vehicle may have been more difficult to maneuver down the road to the apartment and up the driveway. Susan was helpful and easy to communicate with, though we never crossed paths. She also left a book of recommendations - we loved Biscuithead, sunny point cafe, and taco billy. Overall a great trip and we can't wait to return to Ashville!

Welcome to our (320sf/29m) tiny home! We are 25 minutes to Asheville and 7 minutes to the quaint river town of Marshall. You’ll love our place because of the homemade character of the cabin and the natural farm setting. The mountain views and quiet solitude are perfect for couples or a single traveler. Doggies welcome too! Folks love our place as a way to un-plug in style and for it's location to major sights. Come stay in minimalist simplicity and enjoy the sunrise and starry night sky.
Rustic elegance. Our cozy cabin is two-stories tall, on top of a hill overlooking our hill and holler covered in young fruit shrubs and nut trees. On the first floor is the kitchen, small dining area and porch. Upstairs is a full-size bed and reading nook with mtn views. The kitchen is stocked with cookware, an electric burner, spices, oil, and a water heater (for coffee or tea), small fridge, and drinking water. The water system is rustic, but it works well. Fill up your own water from the spigot nearby The cabin has an outhouse a short walk away, but no shower or bath. In cold weather, there is a space heater AND a stylish wood stove for heat. There's a garden fence that doubles as a pet enclosure (Yes, your doggies are welcome!) a fire ring for enjoying the nighttime out-of-doors and 3 miles of interesting walks and steep trails around the neighborhood that we have developed. In 2018 we are planning to build an outhouse close to the cabin plus a seasonal bathhouse. People have booked our cabin for romantic getaways, for personal writing, music and spiritual retreats but mainly for it's awesome proximity to hiking and culture. Many book with us to get a feel for staying in a tiny home and for our hill's appeal for gardening enthusiasts.
The neighborhood is rich with interesting people and projects, including an artisan cheese dairy and the 'Prama Institute and Wellness Center'. Geoff is an agro-forester who has helped develop most of the trails and planted fruit and nut trees around the neighborhood. You may notice that we are building a second larger guesthouse with attached greenhouse that will be ready in Autumn of 2018. This is a great weekend getaway for people wanting to get away from the city, enjoy a taste of Asheville, read and write, or become engaged to their partner (twice happened!) Dogs are welcome and we are an affordable option to host small 50+\- person wedding ceremonies and receptions.
  • Perfect if you're looking to get away from it all!

    Jason2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space. Quiet, perfect little getaway!

    Klint2018-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, close to wonderful hiking and the charming town of Marshall. Geoff and Sofi are the most accommodating and welcoming host. Even the neighbors were extremely friendly and welcoming. We loved the charm and views from cabin. Just beautiful.

    Lola2018-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Good get away from city/burbs location. Little to no cell service so be sure to save contact info in your phone prior to the arrival if the family ( who lives on the property fulltime is not home). We had no service until we got into town by the Walmart ( just an FYI). Very steep stairs inside and on the one side of the house. So take it slow or use side steps of the house. SUV or truck is recommended for driving, especially in the Winter months. Rustic and quiet as advertised

    Brandy2018-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little cabin, perched on top of a mountain with a beautiful view. Very minimalist and calm. A good get away if you’re looking to escape from the city and technology, and get outdoors and see some beauty.

    Jordan2018-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • We only spent one night in the beautiful little hilltop cabin and wished we could’ve stayed longer. What a special place. Geoff and Sofi were wonderful hosts, we’ll definitely come back!

    Jacey2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This space is the perfect place to re-charge and connect with yourself and nature. My fiancé and I were just here for a night while passing through and we loved every minute. The trails on the property are rigorous and breathtaking. We loved the cliff trail. We will be back in the future to stay for a while longer and really take on Geoff and Sofi’s homestead.

    Megan2018-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Geoffrey and Sofi's cabin is charming, and they are hospitable, kind hosts. The farm that the cabin is located on is so peaceful and quiet, which really does the mind good. It has all the mountain-weekend essentials: electric burner, fire pit, water, and even a mini-fridge. The toilet is a short walk down a hill from the cabin, and we brought our own solar shower/shower tent.

Next to a serine creek, off the Blue Ridge Pkwy, and 5 min. To downtown. This 116 yr old, two story 700 sq ft home has charm like no other. Internet, Roku TV, walk in shower, small fridge, wood stove, microwave, and Blue tooth sound system. The upstairs loft/bedroom has low ceilings. Approximately 6'2"
Gashes Fluss Haus is a 117 year old coach house. The first floor is made of stone.
  • Paul was a fantastic host. His home is clean, quiet, and fully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, whether you are looking to hike all day and come back to rest or to stay in and watch a lot of TV. The location is amazing - just minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and downtown Asheville. The only thing that we were not expecting were the low ceilings in the upstairs bedroom area and in the shower. Anyone over 6 ft might have to watch their head. Regardless, we will definitely be staying again in the future!!

    Elaine2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place needs to be advertised as one of the best/unique homes to stay at on Airbnb! Perfect for our weekend getaway to Asheville. The only bad part is that we couldn't stay longer. Paul is very accommodating and is super quick to respond to messages. Paul's place is just far enough outside of downtown Asheville to enjoy the peace and serenity of the mountains yet still only a 10 minute drive into downtown. The house has everything you will need for a comfortable stay. My wife and I enjoyed relaxing with a a cup of coffee and the windows open downstairs. Lots of windows foe stairs to let in a ton of natural light. The bedroom has a lot more room than you would imagine. The bed is super comfortable and there is even a Roku tv to add some modern comforts. In summary...stay here!

  • Great spot... we will return

    Ray2017-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous, cozy space! It was perfect for a quick stay in Asheville. Paul respected privacy but was very easy to communicate with. Looking forward to staying again!

    Amy2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Gashes Fluss Haus represents an intersection of traditional mountain living and modern technology that will charm most travelers in the Asheville area. As soon as Paul showed us how to use the wood stove and we got a fire going, we could hardly bring ourselves to leave again! It was a clean, cozy space with all the amenities one could need for a few-nights stay. Don't miss out on this opportunity to appreciate some gorgeous woodwork, cuddle up in a warm bed, and meet some cute bunny rabbits.

    Janna2018-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place was charming and in the perfect location. By far the best experience we have had with Airbnb. Paul was a great host, having a wood fire burning for us when we arrived and offering suggestions of places to visit in Asheville. We will definitley be back!

  • This place was simply incredible. From first glance it gave us much more than expected. Paul was a spectacular host. He gave us all of the info we could want, even a detailed tutorial on how to work the wood fired stove on a chilly night. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a unique getaway!

Beautiful, spacious walk-out basement apartment overlooking mountains, forest, and river. Unwind in the hot tub after hiking. Enjoy coffee on your deck. Let nature lull you to sleep on the king size bed. Relax and rejuvenate in this lovely retreat, just minutes from most attractions: 2-4 miles: Blue Ridge Parkway, Highland Brewery, Folk Art Center; 5-7 miles: Downtown Asheville, River Arts District; 9 miles: Biltmore Estate, Black Mountain, Pisgah Brewery.
The walk-out basement apartment is light and bright, with windows in each of its 4 rooms that offer various views of mountains, forested property, and the Swannanoa River. A sliding glass door in the living room and a glass door in the kitchen both open to your own deck. The hot tub is just a few steps down from the kitchen door on its own deck. Note that hosts do not use hot tub when guests are present. The living room features a comfy couch and other seating, and a 42” HDTV with Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, PBS, and YouTube TV, which offers network affiliates, cable news, and many sports channels. The huge master bedroom with a king-size bed opens - via a wide doorway (no door - see photos) - to the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked with cooking equipment and dinnerware, and includes a dining table for two.
Botany Woods is a beautifully wooded and quiet neighborhood one mile outside the Asheville city limits. The neighborhood is bordered by the Swannanoa River. We are a short drive to parks, attractions, breweries, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and downtown Asheville. Please drive 25 mph or less in our neighborhood, and watch for pedestrians.
  • It is a beautiful home in a picturesque setting. Miriam and Patrick have decorated their little basement apartment so cutely and it felt so welcoming. It was so nice to find bagels, muffins, coffee, and fresh juice waiting for us! They have also stocked the kitchen with cooking essentials in case you'd like to have a meal at home, which we did. Thanks so much for a great stay!

    Beth2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam is a great host! Very accommodating and very friendly!

  • I really enjoyed my stay here! The apartment is very cute, cozy, clean and has wonderful views. Miriam and Patrick were wonderful hosts. Really felt like a home away from home and I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone wanting to take a trip to Asheville!

  • We had a fantastic stay here! It truly is a gem. You have gorgeous views of the mountains while cozied up in an adorable apartment. It's beautifully decorated and has the perfect amenities. It's a great location. I have no complaints. I highly recommend!

  • This place is awesome! Miriam and Patrick's house is great. The neighborhood is very quiet and tucked away, but also close to everything in Asheville. The space is exactly how it looks in the pictures online. Waking up and having coffee on the deck with a view of both the mountains and the river was a perfect way to start the day. The hot tub was also very enjoyable after a day of hiking. We talked to Miriam and Patrick several times, they're great. They gave us a bunch of recommendations on places to go in Asheville. Needless to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and can't wait to come back.

    Will2017-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • Immediately felt welcome upon our arrival. Unit was exactly as described and photos were accurate. The unit met our needs and was so cutely decorated we felt right at home. Bed was the best. Give this a thumbs up.

An adorable, romantic, Moroccan influenced getaway close to downtown and walking distance to West Asheville's restaurants and shops. This cottage sanctuary is truly a three-dimensional piece of art, with exquisite architecture and artistic touches. Quiet street and family neighborhood. Queen bed upstairs and single reading/sleeping loft downstairs. Three blocks to Carrier Park, two miles to the River District, and a short stroll to Owl (amazing bakery)
Your own cottage in the heart of East West Asheville. River Arts district is 5 minutes away by car. Unique two-story cottage built by two designers in West (Website hidden by Airbnb) looks and feels like a house you may find in Morocco or Majorca . It's only four years old , but built to look like an old villa. Heating and air conditioning, ceiling fan above bed. 100 % cotton bedding and throws are throughout the house. Walking distance to Haywood Rd. Pizza Mind, Owl Bakery, Hole Donuts, Short Street Cakes, The Apple Orchard Cider house, Walk and my favorite for dinner, The 5 star restaurant The Admiral or more casual Bim Beri Bon. Villagers is across the street from Owl. They carry a unique selection of books on homesteading, fermenting, herbs and gardening along with interesting home goods such as local pottery and cutting boards. Two cats, Rue (gray) and Gingko (black) live on the property and sometimes wander around the cottage door looking for an ear scratch. Chickens also live on the south side of the property. Cats and dogs live in my house- the blue one.
Mostly bungalows, friendly, low key, walk big distance to Haywood Road's restaurants and Carrier Park. The Admiral, Owl Bakery, Villagers ( home goods) and Bim Beri Bon are all above average.
  • We had a great time at the Mermaid Cottage! It was clean and stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. The location was unique and convenient to pretty much anywhere you would want to go in Asheville. I would recommend it to anyone I know traveling to the area.

    Eva2015-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Camille's Mermaid Cottage is thoughtfully appointed with attention to detail. We appreciated that everything was clean and comfortable, which exceeded our expectations. I was surprised at how comfortable the bed was as well. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to explore West Asheville and downtown even though we only live 15 miles away in a neighboring town. We have recommended this rental to several of our friends.

    Jill2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Camille was out of town on vacation while we stayed at the mermaid cottage but she had warned us about this before hand. Her mother and daughter were there to help us with any questions we had. We didn't have any questions other than how to turn on the air-conditioner. The mermaid cottage was a very nice place to stay. Camille built it from the ground up and every inch of it was custom designed. It was really neat. It was like a tiny house of art.

    Steven2016-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Mermaid Cottage is great! We were looking for something completely different than a standard hotel room, and this was it. The split levels made it feel bigger than it is, with plenty of room for us and our dog. There are interesting, unique touches all over the place, and the reading nook above the dining table is perfect. Camille was a great host, everything was ready before check-in and she was available as needed. Thanks!

    Chuck2016-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best time staying at the mermaid cottage. Enjoyed walking the neighborhood every morning and it is really close to everything fun in Asheville! The home is unique, fun, and thoughtfully designed and decorated. I will be back!

    Rebecca2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful, whimsical spot! Camille is a lovely host. A magical venue. Lots of steps for those with mobility problems. So glad we stayed there.

Montford is an historic neighborhood with eclectic architecture, it is well worth a stroll to sight see. Large oak trees create a lush background echoing the seasonal changes, with plentiful shade in the summertime, vibrant hues in the fall, and much needed sunshine through the winter & spring. Meandering down Cumberland or Montford Ave simply to admire each unique home is a favorite pastime of locals & visitors alike. After 10 years in Asheville, I still love soaking in the unique history of each expertly designed property.
  • Great location and space in nice neighborhood. Description by host matches actual experience. The bed is firm, so if you like something softer, this is your warning.

This cozy room has a comfortable queen-sized bed, a private bathroom, and your own entrance. Walkable to Downtown and the River Arts District. Very close to the Biltmore Estate and West Asheville. Easy parking. People of Color & white people welcome; LGBTQ & straight friendly. Dogs too, but not on the bed. (Read our pet policy below!)
Simple, clean and comfy w/ queen-sized bed, private bath, good shower, fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, & wireless internet. Breakfast is on your own, but why eat in your room when Foodtopia awaits you? We are LGBTQ and straight friendly. People of Color and white people are welcome. Our home is an urban micro-farm in the making and a land partner in Patchwork Urban Farms. (We’ve prioritize cultivating pollinator habitat and building soil over manicuring a lawn). We are an easy walk or bike to the River Arts District (less than 1/2 mile) and Downtown (1/2 mile to Southslope, then another few blocks to Pritchard Park). It's downhill all the way home from downtown :) You can bike to West Asheville (less than 2 miles) or UNCA (about 3 miles). We're also really close to Biltmore Village and the entrance to the Biltmore Estate (less than 2 miles). Pet friendly for dogs with well-behaved humans (**see notes below re: dogs). Dogs count as an EXTRA guest. (So if there are two humans and one dog that's three guests altogether.) We love Asheville & love to help others love it too. We're happy to offer guidance and suggestions or to leave you to have your own experience. Check out our guidebook for this listing. Our place is simple and affordable but with the added bonus of a private bath and private entrance. You will be welcome and comfortable here. (**A note for visitors with dogs: I love dogs. Absolutely love 'em. I don't provide a crate, and your dog cannot be on the bed. Yes, I will know. If your dog has never stayed in a crate before this won't be a good place to get him or her used to it. Try it at home first. I prefer you not leave your dog here while you're gone. They tend to feel stressed in a strange place, hearing strange noises. So please be prepared to take your dog with you when you go out. Asheville is a very dog-friendly town. Lot's of places with outdoor seating and a few that allow dogs inside. When you arrive there will likely be a moment of excitement when your dog meets our dog, Minnie. Expect barking and sniffing. It's a good idea to let your dog have a walk across the street after traveling and the excitement of meeting another dog in a new place. Thanks!)
The South French Broad neighborhood is on the south-west fringes of downtown so it's easy to get most anywhere in Asheville. I love the urban stream right across the street, the proximity to the river and how it's perfectly situated to be a leading area for urban sustainability and urban agriculture.
  • Bobby's place is very affordable and conveniently located. I had not considered that it was in a basement, and therefore it did toy with my allergies a good bit. However, Michelle was a great host and even helped to accommodate our need for late arrival and extra time before check out. We will definitely consider staying here again.

    Ali2013-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle was very kind and accommodating- her home was clean, cute, private, and in a fantastic location. Thanks Michelle!!

    Suraiya2014-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Michele's place was perfect for what we needed. It was easy to get downtown and the private entrance was great ! We would definitely stay again if we're ever in Asheville.

    Erin2014-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle’s place was great! We walked to downtown from the house. It was a nice space and a super comfortable bed. Michelle and her dogs were extremely friendly and helpful. It was everything we could have asked for.

    Preston2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle was great! Gave us some directions into town from her place and then left us alone. She was accessible by phone if we needed her. Perfect spot, can't wait to get back sometime!

    Grace2016-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: Private entrance, private bathroom (very clean), plenty of towels, fridge in room (great for when you have leftovers from all the yummy places you eat in downtown), cold water in fridge, glassware (including plates and cups to heat up your leftovers), microwave, safe area, parking, an understanding host (she let us do a small load of laundry for our last leg of the trip :)) Cons: I was really disappointed to find a pretty thick coat of collected dust on the ceiling fan. Being a person that is moderately allergic, my fiancé was forced to clean it (not fun). The portable fan was also pretty dusty. Thank goodness the bathroom was clean or I would have definitely looked for another place our first night. Location. Although it is easily uber-able to most places, it is definitely not "walking" distance. More like a hike, which would be a better description to fit the mountain town anyway. Michelle is a lovely host and was easily reachable. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to be on the outskirts of downtown and doesn't mind ubering/driving to places.

    Amanda2015-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle was a great host (we didn't get to meet Bobby) - the room was cosy, clean and comfortable - exactly as described on the listing. She was really accommodating when we arrived 40 mins late due to traffic and hadn't been able to get though to her on the phone because we had no signal. The room is one of the best value we have found anywhere on Airbnb; its like having your own apartment as you have a private bath and your own entrance. Michelle also gave us a great tip of where to go and eat and listen to music in town and gave us directions to a park we could go running in which was really helpful. Highly recommended!

One bedroom, one bath private basement apartment in beautiful mountain home. Private entrance, incredible views and tons of outdoor space including fire pit.
Finished basement apartment. The bedroom has a queen bed, cedar lined closet and vanity closet with sink. There is no window in the bedroom. Some people really like having a very dark bedroom, for others it can be unsettling. Both the kitchen and the bathroom do have windows. The laundry room has washer and dryer that you are welcome to use, along with a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and toaster. This kitchen is not set up for heavy duty cooking (no pots and pans, stove top or oven) but it gets the job done for casual meals or reheating leftovers. Dishes are provided. The bathroom is small but has excellent water pressure. Please note that there is no internet or cell reception indoors, although you can get a clear signal outside. There is a tv with a dvd player and movies, no cable. Also note that you must walk through my garage to get into the basement apartment. The house has beautiful views and loads of space to roam. There's an outdoor fire pit that you are more than welcome to use, and hammocks for lounging in the summer. Very private location that feels like you're far out in the woods but you're really only minutes from Asheville and Black Mountain.
The best thing about this neighborhood is that there isn't really one! The house is fairly secluded but still only a short drive to Asheville or Black Mountain. The roads close to my home are very windy, so you may want to add a few minutes to your expected commute if you're not used to mountain roads.
  • Ellie’s place is great for people looking to explore the outdoor side of Asheville. It may not be ideal for romantic getaways or for a prime vacation spot. She is very responsive and it’s super easy to get to and arriving late was a breeze. My friend who came with had never done Air BNB before said she enjoyed Ellie’s place and would stay again. It’s cute and clean. Outdated, but feels like you’re staying in a mountain cabin basement!

    Kathryn2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location! Far enough away to be quiet and cozy, but only a 20 minute drive or less to downtown Asheville. I loved how quiet and dark the basement was at night, it made for some great sleep. Had all the amenities you need in a mountain home, plus a grocery store near by for provisions. I would recommend this space to anyone wishing to escape to a quiet, mountain retreat.

    Kyle2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place is as described and for the money, is a good value. It is a basement apartment and it is dark, access in the garage and I think other guests in the apartment upstairs have access to the garage as well. The driveway was a bit rough for a motorcycle at night. But we made it and enjoyed our stay. It was great to be able to park in the garage. The fire pit and hammock are great.

  • Ellie's place was just as advertised and in a really beautiful location. She went out of her way to come let us in when an extra lock had accidentally been left locked. We had lots of privacy and Ellie was quick to answer any questions we had via text.

    Emma2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great for my girlfriend and I. We were vacationing in Asheville exploring downtown, breweries, Black Mountain, and the Biltmore. Having a simple place to stay away from everything was a nice way to get away. Not having wifi/signal was listed and we knew that going in, and for how we were using the house as just a place to crash worked for us great.

    Zachary2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ellie was very accommodating and communicative. We got in late after a tiring day, but we were greeted with a pleasant environment. There’s plenty of space for those looking for a short stay. Enjoy the movie collection and start with the Wedding Singer!

I designed this cozy, small space (12x24) for myself and have loved living in it! If you have ever wondered what it's like to live tiny (or smallish) come stay and try it out! It's located behind my personal residence in a sweet little neighborhood minutes from downtown...(Uber is available). The deck overlooks a quiet ravine where the bears travel frequently (not as much in the winter). It's quiet and close to everything! Adults only... Thank you! Airbnb guests only. No visitors, please.
I had this quaint and cozy cabin built by a company specializing in small home design. Their craftsmanship is unparalleled! It is nestled in the trees above a small ravine and sits in the backyard of my house. It is small (288 sq ft downstairs, 100 upstairs and a 100 sq. ft. deck) but has the feel of something bigger with high ceilings and an open concept and loft. It is close to downtown, the Biltmore, and Blue Ridge Parkway but feels like a quiet get away. This space is meant for two people and is for adults only. Absolutely no pets, smoking, vaping or parties. Please respect the no pets policy as there are folks highly allergic to even hypoallergenic pets. Thank you! Features: All new designer furniture Brand new queen size bed in the loft Full sized refrigerator Toaster oven, microwave, and hot plate for small meals. Coffee maker with Starbucks House roast coffee Ceramic tile bath with roomy tiled shower Wide plank oak hardwood floors Rosewood dining bar in eat-in kitchen Hide-away fold down writing desk with view of trees and wildlife Real stairs/storage to the loft Tankless water heater so you have limitless hot water Beautiful deck out back to sit and take in the view This Tiny House is for my Airbnb guests only. No visitors please. Come see how special this place is! I love it!
This house is located in a cozy, tree-lined neighborhood 4 miles from downtown. Close enough to anything you want to do but tucked away in its own little patch of woods. Walkable neighborhood to a public library, two playgrounds, one block to the Farmers' Market on Fridays, and two blocks to PennyCup coffee shop (try their frozen Green Tea!) and Creekside Taphouse BBQ...yum!
  • Great little place to stay. Has everything u need and very close to downtown asheville. I'd definitly stay again

  • Karen's Tiny House was the perfect start to a week long vacation. It was close enough to downtown to get there within 10 minutes but also close to the parkway. The house is very clean and the amenities were great! We especially loved the outside deck overlooking the woods. We felt away from the city while still being close. It was plenty of space for the two of us and just beautifully appointed. Karen's favorite places to eat and drink and hike were also great recommendations!

    Brenda2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Karen's place was perfect!! Great location to downtown, a 5 minute drive. I thought that there wasn't any way that the property could be as great as the photos, but it was that and then some! We will definitely be back again.

    Paige2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • How can anyone be stressed about life's worries or world problems when you're sitting in an Adirondack chair, with your morning coffee (or your wine in the evening), on a deck amongst the tree tops??! I love Asheville -- and I love Karen's tiny house. What a perfect getaway - not in a stuffy old motel room - but in this tastefully & thoughtfully equipped little house. You can't help but notice the beautiful carpentry, light fixtures and storage areas. Karen is the epitome of a hostess extraordinaire! Even the dishes, mugs and wine glasses are classy! A sweet touch was a slice of fragrant homemade soap that was most likely from a local craftsman in Asheville. Karen even thoughtfully emailed us, ahead of our arrival, her 'list of favorites' - restaurants and things to experience. We had a marvelous time, thanks to the sweet hospitality of Karen!

    Regina2017-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious for a tiny house. Extremely well thought out and executed. Karen couldn’t be nicer. Five Star!

    Erik2018-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Karen's Tiny House was fantastic. It was less than a ten minute drive from downtown and was in a quiet neighborhood. She was thoughtful when we first booked and sent us a very full list of recommendations of things to do around the city and was very attentive before and during our stay. As far as the house, the high ceilings helped it seem open and spacious, making for a very comfortable visit.

    KaSandra2017-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome tiny house! Super close to downtown Asheville, OmG! The bears, wow, so awesome to have seen that. Clean, better than pictures! Awesome space!

    Vince2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is so fun! The space is well laid out and comfortable. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Around a $10 uber ride to anywhere downtown. While it is in a neighborhood, it feels very secluded, and the back deck is a perfect place to relax with coffee in the mornings. Absolutely sparkling clean as well!

Country setting and close to town - the perfect mix. Just a short 20 minute drive on the river to downtown Asheville and the River Arts District. Completely unwind in this peaceful setting - relax on the hammock and listen to the sounds of the bold creek. The beautiful studio apartment, with kitchen and laundry, welcomes you after a day of exploring. Nearby attractions include: white water rafting, kayaking, hiking, and all the wonderful restaurants, breweries and shops of downtown Asheville.
Studio apartment in finished basement of residential house. On a quiet private road.
  • Beautiful spot, very comfy room and amenities! Highly recommend!

  • Randy’s place was great. It was exactly as shown in pictures, everything was very clean, and it was very good for the price. That being said, there were a couple things that could use improvement. The gravel road by his house had a big sudden dip that always scraped the bottom of our car no matter how careful we were. We have a honda civic, so it’s not a particularly low riding car. The first day we were there the water from the shower had a bad egg smell, but after the first time it was still there, just wasn’t as bad. The couch is extremely hard and uncomfortable, the bed is much better, but the pillows are pretty small and cheap. We found the extras in the closet were much better quality. Also, we like to cook, and while there were the bare essentials (pots, dishes, ect) things like cooking oil, plastic bags, scissors, plastic wrap, foil, and other basics are not provided, so be prepared to bring your own. Overall we had a very pleasant trip and really enjoyed our stay, and the price was unbeatable!

  • We highly recommend Randy's place to anyone needing a one night stay or several nights. It's a very peaceful, spotless, updated place to stay and you feel like you are getting a little away from things. But it is very easy to get to at the same time!We loved our stay and have no complaints at all. Well worth the money and feel like it's a steal compared to hotel rates! We will definitely stay there again when back in the Asheville area.

    Jen2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet and peaceful place to stay. Randy is an awesome host and had everything you need to be comfortable and more! Space was super clean and comfortable. Will definitely be back!

    Brianna2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Randy's place is super clean, nicely decorated, and located within a short drive to downtown Asheville but far enough away for a quiet stay. The amenities are great - especially the washer and dryer. Directions (with photos! ) to the space were super helpful and made check-in really easy.

    Heather2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is gorgeous and in a great location! Randy was so helpful and made sure we could find our way. The apartment has a full kitchen and everything we needed. Definitely would recommend!

    Stephanie2018-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Three of us stayed at Randy's airb&b and we had such an amazing experience. Very happy with our decision to book with Randy. He is very hospitable and accommodating. He responded quickly to messages and his space was just as advertised. It was easy to arrive at his home with his instruction. The space was clean and relaxing. I would highly recommend Randy's peaceful countryside retreat. Enjoy!

    Jasmin2018-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was everything and more then I expected. All the extra touches made it even more. Love the fact that there was chairs on the outside that I could sit and listen to the rain while I was there. Everything was so clean and wonderfully decorated. Randy was quick to respond to all my messages and made it super easy for me during my stay for business. I look forward to staying with Randy again.

"Pictures don't do this place justice"... previous guest response. “This is THE place to stay in Asheville! We will definitely be back soon" ...previous guest review First class accommodations on the mountain overlooking Asheville. Beautiful mountain views above with city lights below. This charming space is a short five minutes and $5 Uber ride from downtown Asheville yet feels worlds away. Exposed rock wall opposite original outside wall gives this apartment a unique and comfortable feel.
“Dorothy's place is an absolute gem! It's up in the hills in a quiet neighborhood, but only a quick 5-7 minute drive from downtown and a 2 minute drive from a grocery store. The unit is spacious was incredibly comfortable for us (two plus our pup). The care and effort put into the space is super impressive. There is a queen sized bed, full size fridge and sink, a coffee maker with coffee/cream/sugar, tea, a microwave, and toaster oven. There's also a cute little sitting room with a tv and sofa. Further, the bathroom is a comfortable size with plenty of space for two. Dorothy has a board of recommendations for travelers, along with a map with pins to keep track of where her guests are from. Such sweet details! We were so sad to leave her lovely space. Hope to stay again in the future!” ...previous guest review Lots of space on this double lot on our small mountain leaves you feeling away from it all even though you're merely minutes from downtown. We are super convenient to grocery stores and tons of restaurants. Very open layout with beautiful archways and a unique rock wall add both charm and class. Super clean and equipped with a shared laundry room and great big bathroom. The kitchenette has everything you could need to feel at home when you're away from home. It is equipped with a full size refrigerator, single burner hot plate, a large toaster oven, microwave and a coffee maker. Netflix and Hulu streaming available via Roku on flat screen TV in living room . What else could you need?! :) This is a very spacious 500 square foot tastefully decorated and well equipped lower level space. Plenty of privacy with a separate entrance and a screen door allows guests to enjoy the fresh air and natural light. Outside space with porch swing and lounge seating for guests to lounge the day away. Beautiful fire pit area also available for guest use. Suitable for two adults with a couch available for a third; children are welcome as well although the space is not child proof and I don't have separate sleeping arrangements other than the couch :) This space is one of two rentals on the lower level of my home. Each rental has a private entrance on either side of the house and my entrance is at the front of the house so privacy coming and going is not an issue. If this space does not fulfill your needs please check out my other Airbnb listing :) https://abnb.me/EVmg/4pISBm8rsK The apartments share a laundry room space making a perfect opportunity to book both for larger families or couples traveling together. Also, I will send instructions when it gets close to your reservation. Please read them carefully to be sure you choose the correct apartment upon arrival.
I like to think I live on Asheville's best kept secret! It's quiet, has beautiful views and is close to everything. Depending on which way you go down the mountain you are truly not far from wherever you're headed. You can be downtown in minutes to enjoy all the excitement Asheville has to offer and then retire home in the evening for a quiet peaceful night. You also have easy access to 240 to get to your next hike. I wouldn't want to call anywhere else home!
  • We had an excellent time! Great location, safe, easy to follow directions. Excellent and timely communication. Would gladly stay here again!

    Joey2016-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay. Had all the amenities my dog and I needed. It was cozy and a lovely place to escape to at the end of the day.

    Christina2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Dorthy was a great host. Very easy to communicate with and the apartment was very cozy and cute. The location was great and I hopefully will be back sometime.

    Krystle2016-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome experience from start to finish! Incredibly warm and welcoming host who even brought us a local paper!

    James2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy's place was fantastic. The location feels far away from the city, with a great view of the city, especially at night. The neighborhood is quiet and calm. The space itself has a very nice, private feel. In reality, however, it's very close to everything. Just a drive or Uber away from every place we wanted to visit. Close to the Parkway, even closer to another mountain overlook, and close to downtown Asheville and all of its restaurants and breweries. In terms of decor, the place is clean and tidy. The little touches really set this place apart. Dorothy has a blackboard of recommendations, resources to find others, and maps of hiking trails and the parkway. My girlfriend and I very much enjoyed our stay, and both agree that we'd love to stay here again!

    Miguel2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay in Asheville and Dorothy's hospitality and awesome location was crucial to our trip's success. I highly recommend everyone to explore Asheville from Dorothy's mountainside retreat. Thank you Dorothy for an amazing week!

    Robin2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time on our first trip to Asheville. Dorothy's apartment suited our needs perfectly. The best is comfortable, the bathroom was nice and spacious, and having access to laundry was nice even though we didn't use it. The apartment is decorated very nicely and was a nice "home base" for our trip. Dorothy is friendly and responsive when needed without being intrusive. The surrounding area is beautiful and unique. This apartment is secluded enough, but only a short Uber ride from downtown. Perfect! We would definitely stay at Dorothy's again!

    Jen2017-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Dorothy's place was the perfect place for a weekend getaway! The location is conveniently close to downtown and has a great view of the mountains. If you're looking to explore Asheville this is a great place to stay! Definitely recommend!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our quick stay at Brett’s place. The studio was clean, had all the necessary amenities (toiletries, hair dryer, coffee, etc). We were able to walk downtown to several local restaurants and breweries in under 10 minutes but the studio area was nice and quiet at night. Brett was exceptionally responsive and accommodating leading up to and during our stay. He gave us fantastic recommendations as well - dinner at Curate and mountain biking at Bent Creek were a highlight. Would highly recommend and would certainly stay again!

    Steph2018-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Brett's cottage was just what we needed in downtown Asheville. Walking distance to downtown, clean and stylish loft, and nice front porch to sit and have a beer.

    Kelly2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Easy walk to downtown and all the breweries/restaurants. Very clean, and has everything you need and then some. Very comfortable. Was easy to find. Brett also gives some great recommendations for first timers to the area.

    Brian2018-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Brett's place was a nice and quiet place to stay, very close an easy walk to downtown. Very comfortable bed, and your own private nice little place to stay, with everything you would need! I was impressed with how quiet it was being so close to downtown Asheville.

    Shannon2018-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Was a great clean space and loved all the local tips of what to see and where to go!

    Taylor2018-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Brett’s place is perfectly positioned close to downtown Asheville. Stylish and comfortable as well as functional. Would absolutely stay again upon our next visit to Asheville!

    Shanna2018-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • I loved my stay at the cottage! Everything was very clean but felt home-y at the same time. It’s a studio space, but feels very roomy and comfortable. The walk to downtown was not far at all, a bit of a hill to town but it was a good mini workout before I stuffed my face with delicious food! Brett gave us many great recommendations for food and things to do around us. We took advantage of these, and we were not disappointed! Brett quickly responded to our messages and was very helpful with anything we needed. Definitely a great stay!!

    Kathleen2018-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a perfect AirBNB; all the convenience of home (coffee pot, fridge, etc) and about a 15 minute walk to downtown dining, shopping, and amenities. My mom and I walked from downtown to the AirBNB late at night and felt very safe. The space also provided recommendations for dinner/drinks, making it very easy to plan our destinations in Asheville. I highly recommend this place.

We think our house is pretty special, but luckily you don't have to take our word for it, Architectural Digest recently chose it as the most beautiful Airbnb in North Carolina (Website hidden by Airbnb) Set in the serene and beautiful Riceville Valley, we are also just 12 minutes from downtown Asheville (or Black Mountain) and 5 to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The photos are better than any description we can give but the house is minimalist and modern while also being warm and inviting. Custom kitchen with concrete countertops, stunning views from every room.
Quiet and tranquil but close to town.
  • Will put it on our return list to stay again, a beautiful modern home in a gorgeous natural setting without sacrificing the convince of Asheville's downtown.

    Robert2016-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • John's place is phenomenal. It has everything you could possibly need. Feels a comfortably remote, but with easy access to Asheville and sites like Blue Ridge Parkway. The house is so unique with breathtaking views. We wanted to stay in all day just to watch the changing fog and light across the mountains. Everything was made easy, from check-in to cooking to using the technology in the house. We highly recommend and only wish we could have stayed longer! :)

    Lauren2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This home is so unique and spacious, while having ideal views in every room—so well thought out and designed. We originally had a lot planned to do in Asheville, but ended up foregoing some of them to just soak up the home and views. John & Carla had a bottle of campaign waiting for us on arrival since we were there for NYE. Can't speak higher of the property and hosting—definitely will recommend & want to come back!

    Elizabeth2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Looks exactly like the pictures! Beautiful modern house a couple of minutes away from downtown Asheville. This was me and my wife's first time using airbnb and might have spoiled ourselves with this one. We will definitely be back to John and Carla's!

    Michael2016-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • The home was beautiful and exactly as advertised. We were impressed with attention to detail of the construction of the home. The heated floors were very nice. This property did not disappoint and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

    Bryan2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, peaceful home with a view that feels like a retreat, but a location close enough to enjoy the city.

    Rebecca2017-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • John’s place was awesome! Great amenities with amazing views of the mountains and only 15 minutes from downtown. A great place to stay if you’ve coming to Asheville for a few days! Totally made the trip worth it!

    Paul2018-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great modern place with amazing views and lots of space. It was a fairly quick trip (about 20 mins) to get into downtown. Very clean and updated. John and Carla were super responsive and helpful. I'm planning on a return trip in the summer!

Cool weather - hot tub~Cooler weather - flannel sheets ~ cold weather~ gas fireplace. We are warming the place up just for you, come experience My Green Escape this fall and winter. The best way for you to choose My Green Escape is to read our reviews. They will describe the feel of what we offer, give insight to the level of service we provide, and ultimately have you book Your Green Escape. Tom, your host Side note: My Green Escape has a two night minimum, but exceptions can be requested.
I am very proud to tout the improvements just completed. There is now a new comfortable sitting area where the hot tub used to sit. The hot tub has been moved to its new more private location that offers guest a choice: birthday or bathing suit. An outdoor hot/cold shower is in the works for adventurous guests who want to commune with nature naturally. Heretofore, the sitting/shower/hot tub area is clothing optional. The entire apartment is over 400 sq. ft. and is fully furnished with all amenities, located in a wooded neighborhood with rolling to moderate hilly topography that offers hiking and walking opportunity, all with stunning views of nature. Green Escape now offers a two bedroom apartment with private entrance from covered carport, private full bath, and large living room with dinette table, microwave, a well stocked beverage fridge, coffee maker, toaster, TV with Roku, and other great amenities as well as strong WiFi. The hot tub is a welcomed retreat after a day of exploring Asheville ~~~~ deep breath, ahhhh, relax, repeat ~~
My Green Escape is located on rolling hillside terrain, picturesque lightly wooded neighborhood with most types of NC mountain wildlife. At My Green Escape there is no grass lawn, rather naturally mossed rock outcrops with a variety of woodland plants and seedling pine, oak, maple, tulip poplar, mountain laurel, sassafras, and sourwood trees. It's a horticulturist's delight!
  • From the moment we arrived, Tom was nothing but inviting. The rooms were clean and comfortable. If we needed anything, or had any questions, Tom was both friendly and helpful. The next time we go to Asheville, we will be looking to see if this space is available again!

    David2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Green Escape was perfect. It looked even nicer in person. Tom was super helpful. When you enter the apt there was a map of downtown Asheville which was extremely helpful for my boyfriend and I. Tom being familiar with Asheville, recommended some places for us to go. I highly recommend choosing the green escape. You wont be disappointed.

    Shéna2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, warm, spacious, quite, clean are just a few positive words to use to describe this place. It's situated in a hilly, wooded area giving you the feeling of being in a rural setting instead of 10 minutes or less from downtown. Welcoming, friendly, helpful, describe Tom our host. He thought of every need we had plus some. Including a stocked beverage frig, fresh fruits and pastries, even the use of his laundry room. We would recommend a stay at Tom's.

    Kathy2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Snacks were fantastic as well as coffee prepared every morning!! Tom is the man

    Libby2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was absolutely perfect. Tucked into a neighborhood a few miles outside of downtown Asheville, the space is exactly as described: comfortable, spotless, cozy. There were coffee, drinks and snacks provided, which was above and beyond. And the hot tub was the perfect place to unwind in the evening. Tom is a superb and professional host: he went above and beyond and drove us into Asheville our first night and gave us a little tour, and even lent us his personal parking pass for the Arboretum. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

    Gabriela2018-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tom is a great host. He is an example of great hospitality. What I like the most is that the Guest has their own space and privacy. Its completely separate from where he stays. The place is super clean. Tom was very helpful with suggesting places to visit and restaurants to eat. He also provided morning coffee and some snacks which I really enjoyed.

    Ahmed2017-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was my wife's and I first air b&b experience. Tom has set the bar extremely high. Tom was the consummate host and just a straight up nice guy. Attention to detail was evident in EVERYTHING we experienced at My Green Escape. Everything from the cleanliness and comfort to all of the subtleties. It was a relaxing, stress relieving experience. He kept the fridge stocked and had fresh muffins for us each morning. Sweet! Tom had contacted me before our arrival to inquire on what kind of bed sheets I would prefer, Flannel or regular? Was not expecting a choice but it was a pleasant surprise. Flannels were great and the bed was super comfortable. Having a private entrance was not only convenient but he had it festively and tastefully decorated for the holidays, nice touch! There really is so much to say about our experience and the hospitality Tom provided. First impressions are key, and Tom had went above and beyond. We'll be back Tom. Thank you for everything!

    Russell2017-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing. Its perfectly described and more. Super clean, conviently located, and a great host. He made coffee for us every morning, left pastries and not to mention when we arrived he made us french bread pizza!! This was an amazing stay. You should definitely book Toms place, I know we for sure will again!

The Bird's Nest is a BRAND NEW tiny house nestled in the Blue Ridge Mtns in Fairview, NC. Best of both worlds-a quiet, country setting yet close to everything! 15 min from downtown Asheville, Chimney Rock & Black Mtn. And walking distance to a new micro brewery, ice cream shop and grocery store...everything you need :) A perfect getaway for couples or those just wanting to escape the stress of daily life.
Brand new tiny house with your own entrance and parking. 1 spacious bedroom upstairs, 1 full bath, queen size pull out couch downstairs. Kitchenette features a table-top convection oven, microwave, 1 burner (no full stove), sink, and a coffee maker. 512 sq ft but feels much more spacious with the high ceilings. Awaken to fresh mountain air and a warm cup of coffee and fresh eggs from our chickens. Enjoy a relaxing yoga class next door or take a short drive to a waterfall. Perhaps take a stroll in downtown AVL or take a walk to the local micro brewery (only 1 mile away)! Finish the day off relaxing by the fire pit out back while swinging in the comfy hammock :)
Quiet, country setting nestled in the forest. We do have neighbors nearby, but it is heavily wooded so it still feels private. Walking distance to a new micro brewery, ice cream shop, grocery store and the local library.
  • Great experience!! No issues in check in! Clean tidy home and was perfect for a small family. Would recommend to anyone not trying to pay the high prices in the Asheville area!

  • CHARMING property, cozy, but appointed with care and even a few nicer amenities like a memory foam bed and pebble-floor shower! Perfect location - a real woodsy experience, yet just 15 minutes from city center. Host was very nice and even stocked the fridge with fresh eggs from her backyard chickens. Hope to return again!

Our favorite dinner restaurants are the Admiral in West Asheville and the Bull & Beggar in the River Arts District for which we recommend reservations but you might find a couple of seats around the bar to order a selection of fabulous plates. Lunch time we are partial to Chai Pani's Indian Street Food which i take with no spices and Doc Chey's is ideal on a tight budget but arrive early or be prepared to wait for a seat.
  • The Cardinals Inn was just as I remembered it...a quaint and welcoming home in the heart of the Appalachians with everything a newly married couple could ask for. My beautiful bride and I decided to stay in the airstream to for extra privacy and it was the perfect choice. We were still able to have the wonderful, fully-organic breakfast provided by the lovely host marc and Fay and enjoy the company of the other guest while enjoying our alone time together in the privacy of our luxury trailer home. I went on nature runs through the mountains to stay feet for my day job and Maria and I even had a run-in with a hungry black bear who decided to do some trash digging for lunch!! The last 2 days we were the only guest at the inn and marc and fay made us feel like family. Allowing us to do laundry at our leisure and leaving the backdoor open so we could go in and out as needed. All in all it was the perfect opening leg to our road trip honeymoon from harrisburg, pa to Austin, TX and we will def be returning in the future to enjoy more delicious croissants with homemade jam and interesting conversation with the lovely hosts. Simply perfect!!!

  • Staying with Marc and Fay was a real treat! It was like staying with best friends. Their hospitality was top-notch, the accommodations were spectacular, the location was perfect, and the food treats were to die for! First and foremost, Marc and Fay's hospitality is truly the best. They're friendly, accommodating, and know how to provide all of the little details that make a stay magical. They basically opened up their home to us and made us feel special and welcome. Next on the list, the Airstream was gorgeous and surprisingly luxurious. Although there were some technical difficulties due to the unprecedented recent cold snap, Marc and Fay ensured we were comfortable and well accommodated. Marc even went out and swept the snow off our rental car the morning of our departure and made sure we knew how to handle ourselves while driving in the snow. The location was the biggest surprise. It's nestled between two mountains in a quiet and picturesque valley with beautiful views. But it's not even 3 miles into downtown Asheville and even closer to groceries, liquor, wine, etc. in case you need to make a quick trip out. You get the serenity and beauty of an isolated mountain cabin, with the convenience and spontaneity of an in-town apartment. It allowed us to get the peace and quiet we wanted while still being able to get into town for the great eats and drinks. Last, but definitely not least, Marc's prowess in the kitchen was truly a treat. His croissants and chocolates were some of the best we've ever had. Breakfast was great every morning with fresh coffee, croissants, fruit, yogurt, cereal, and more. It was a wonderful opportunity to chat with Marc, Fay, and the other guests.

  • To say our stay was fabulous is just not a good enough word. The airstream was perfect! It was cozy and luxurious and quiet...everything we wanted and more! The mountain/wooded view made us feel very close to nature and at night, the starry skies were breathtaking! Marc and Fay are fantastic hosts! They are very friendly, hospitable and are eager to make your stay the best by tending to every tiny detail. The continental breakfast is yummy and the kitchen/living room area is warm and inviting. In all, I could not have asked for a better or more relaxing experience!

  • Staying on the Airstream and interacting with Fay and Marc was a FANTASTIC experience! We agree with all the superlatives that previous airbnbers said about staying with Fay and Marc. It was great and could not have been better. Fay even gave us a parting gift. They went above and beyond anything anyone could expect. We would LOVE to return to their Airstream or to their other airbnb listings when we are in the Asheville area.

  • A great place to stay. The little touches of creativity thru out the house are amazing. Super clean and quiet. Close enough to downtown to be out and about, and still feel like your alone in the mountains. Will definitely be back.

  • A true gem. It feels like paradise

    Morgan2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Marc and fay's place is by far one of the most unique places we have ever stayed! everything was top notch. I really cant think of one negative thing!!!! BOOK IT! We will definitely be recommending this place to friends.

    Mary2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Marc and Fay are incredible hosts! They make you feel welcome from the instant they greet you. The tour of the inn is very thorough, and includes a box of chocolates! They obviously love what they do, and strive to seek a warm sense of community among the guests. The setting, inside and out is marvelously comfortable and soothing, and the freshly made croissants and homemade preserves and granola are absolutely marvelous, and further enhanced by your choice of espresso or coffee! They are wonderful people, and the inn is lovely. We stayed in the Airstream and thoroughly enjoyed its privacy and charm. The hot tub is yet another perk to this location! We will certainly return, and were inspired to consider doing our own AirBnB at some point!

If you are looking for a secluded mountain getaway this is not the place but if you looking to be in the heart of downtown festivities then our loft is the perfect place for you. Our loft has local art, full window view of College St., high ceilings, exposed brick. We are right in the center of all of the downtown action. Downtown is lively especially at night where you can enjoy craft cocktails, amazing food and live music.
Luxury 1 bedroom loft located in the heart of downtown Asheville
Downtown Asheville is energetic and we are right in the center of the action! Lots of cool spaces to explore, amazing restaurants and nightlife. We are across the street from Table and Imperial Life, which features a Friday late night Hip Hop Dance party. We are two doors down from the One Stop/Asheville Music Hall which stays open late and features funk, reggae, and rock. Old time, bluegrass, celtic, rock, symphony, African drumming, trad jazz, modern jazz, gypsy, singer-songwriters and eclectic street performers are a stone's throw from here as well. Award winning restaurants including sushi, Indian (north or south), Korean, Italian, BBQ, Southern, vegan, charcuterie, farm-to-table, pizza, Spanish, gluten free, French, Chinese, Ethiopian, Himalayan, bakeries, coffee houses, tea, four chocolateries, twelve breweries (and counting…) and food trucks galore. Art galleries feature openings every weekend in downtown and nearby and keep daytime business hours to explore artists from the area and from afar.
  • Great location!

  • Stylish and perfectly located, this home is a great space from which to explore Asheville. Shops, restaurants, breweries, and art are right outside the door. And the Blue Ridge Parkway is easily accessible. Highly recommend staying here.

  • We really appreciated having a pet-friendly base in the middle of everything. For a short stay, the loft was pefectly located to optimize our time downtown. Do take into consideration the noise from adjacent venues - you will hear folks spill

    Jeremy2018-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This space looks and feels wonderful! It has great style and feels very welcoming and spacious. I was worried beforehand that street noise might make it hard to sleep, but my partner and I used the provided noise machine and closed the pocket doors to the bedroom and it was absolutely quiet. Staying here locates you right downtown, and there are two big public garages on the side street that provide easy, reasonable parking ($12/day, as I recall).

    Suzanne2018-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for a great stay. The place is exactly as described and in a perfect spot!

  • Great location and awesome loft space.

  • Krista's place was such an amazing find. This was our third time to Asheville and this was the best so far. The apartment was spotless and exactly as described. The bed was big and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The apartment was conveniently located near all the restaurants and breweries we wanted to go to. Never had to take an Uber. It was so close we were able to lug cases of beer to and fro, the farthest we walked was about 0.5 miles. The only downside is the noise which Krista does state in her description and when you book. At night when you want to go to sleep it's a little annoying but the white noise machine does help. There is a bar located right next door underneath which got the loudest on Friday night. But after a day of hiking and drinking beer you'll be too tired to care. For the price, location, and apartment as a whole it's a great find. I would stay here again!

    Stephanie2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Krista & Andy were amazing hosts! I was visiting Asheville with my husband (left our daughter at home with my mom!) so being able to relax at the end of the day in their gorgeous apartment made the trip wonderful! The two biggest highlights of the apartment are the location and the apartment itself. The location is right in the middle of anything you could possibly need in Asheville. Plus there is super a convenient parking garage right across the street. The apartment is AMAZING! The huge windows let in a ton of light. The apartment is absolutely immaculate and really funky. Andy and Krista have thought of everything! There was a great binder filled with recommendations on the coffee table with everything from local restaurants, bars, hikes, and so much more. Their bookshelves are filled with wonderful books and games as well. Although we did not do any cooking in the apartment, the kitchen is well-stocked! The adorable dining room table and benches was a very comfortable spot for us to have breakfast one morning. If we find ourselves back in Asheville, we will definitely reach out to Krista and Andy again!

We live and create in this house, and when you're here, you are a part of our family. We enjoy meeting and interacting with our guests (boardgames or hiking, anyone?), but we also understand the need for privacy, so we do our best to be unobtrusive. We have two guestrooms, and you may share the bathroom if both rooms are occupied. There's an additional half-bath downstairs you are always welcome to use if the guest bath is occupied. You'll find your bath linens (towels, washcloths, robe) in your bedroom. Shampoo, conditioner and soap are complimentary. • Jeanne & Patrick were amazing! They make sure to welcome you with open arms along with sweet touches to your room and they were so helpful with tips on good hiking locations! We’ll definitely be coming back to enjoy their beautiful place again.

    Brittany2017-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne & Patrick are the best hosts we've ever encountered! They both made us feel so welcomed and at ease, like we were staying with family. Their home is a dream, with so many inviting nooks for reading, playing games, or just lounging. You definitely shouldn't miss the incredible deck and swinging bed as well as the hot tub in the backyard (that comes with cozy robes!). Breakfast was sweet and simple, and often we were given fresh berries and the biggest peaches I've ever seen to top the wonderfully nutty homemade granola (my husband seriously couldn't get enough of this stuff). Their dog Amos is a big pile of love and was a welcomed addition to mornings on the deck and afternoon snuggles. Jeanne & Patrick have thought of every little detail to make your stay with them as comfortable and easy going as possible. They were also a wealth of knowledge for where to explore and eat downtown and in the area, plus hiking trails! Our stay with them and all of their wonderful suggestions made our first trip to Asheville a memorable one indeed. We look forward to our next trip down to the Blue Ridge Mountains and a stay with our favorite hosts in their beautifully secluded mountain escape!

  • By far, the best Airbnb experience I have had yet. On every front, Jeanne and Patricks's lovely home is a place you would not want to pass up. From my room to the pleasing accommodations to even the jacuzzi - I was very pleased. Jeanne and Patrick are simply delightful and helpful people and this whole experience was a breath of fresh air.

    Grace2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is what you should know. Jeanne and Patrick have an amazing place folded into woods and a short hike provides views. We were there in the beginning of the holiday season and the extra touches made it joyful. There is a hot tub we just didn't have time to use. I am sure it will be there the next time we are in Asheville. Dennis

EXPERIENCE FALL IN ASHEVILLE In early fall head to higher elevations above 5,000 feet. In mid-fall peak color lights up spots in the 3,000 to 4,000-foot range. In late fall, lower elevation spots at less than 2,000 feet are your best bet. BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY & MOUNTAINS FALL COLOR FORECAST (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Leaf peepers ask: “When is peak color?” The great news is that we usually have many weeks of autumn color in our mountains and foothills. Find the areas of best color by driving the Blue Ridge Parkway or other scenic roads up and down the ridges. Elevation is the biggest factor for time of color change. An early frost speeds up the color change and warm weather prolongs it. Below is our prediction. PEAK FOLIAGE COLOR TIMELINE (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) SEPTEMBER Last Week: 6,000+ feet elevation: Many high ridges like Mount Mitchell have spotty color, while these two lofty places along the Parkway usually have the most early color: Rough Ridge at Grandfather Mountain and Graveyard Fields. OCTOBER First Week: Above 5,000 feet elevation. The leaves in the highest mountains north of Asheville turn first, especially on the Parkway north of Craggy Gardens and Beech Mountain. South on the Parkway, head to Waterrock Knob and Black Balsam areas. Hike & picnic atop both Max Patch. OCTOBER Second Week: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) feet elevation. Best colors really pick up steam, including Mount Pisgah and Devil's Courthouse areas south on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The mountains surrounding Waynesville and Cashiers peak, including Whiteside Mountain with the Shadow of the Bear. Also, see colorful highest ridges of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and drive the Cherohala Skyway. Camp at Lake Santeetlah. OCTOBER Third Week: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) feet elevation. The ultimate week for the most color including large sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This also includes much of Pisgah National Forest near Brevard. Drive the Forest Heritage Scenic Byway. Top hikes there include Looking Glass Rock or Cradle of Forestry. North of Asheville, best color will be Banner Elk and hikes to Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain at Linville Gorge. West of Asheville, head to Maggie Valley, Cherokee and Bryson City. OCTOBER Last Week: (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) feet elevation. The city of Asheville, French Broad River and Biltmore Estate show their best color, along with many of our small towns including Sylva and Saluda. It's a great time for a waterfall hike in DuPont State Forest or a stroll at the NC Arboretum. Milepost 316.3 - Linville Falls: See one of the most photographed waterfalls in the eastern USA from five viewpoints along wooded hikes in Pisgah National Forest. Milepost 355.4 - Mt Mitchell: Drive to the top of the highest peak in the eastern USA and see the 360-degree views from the top. While color up top peaks early October, the views into the valley will be colorful through mid October. Milepost 364.4 - Craggy Gardens: See views from the Visitor Center, have a mile-high picnic and hike trails to the balds with spectacular views. Craggy Pinnacle has one of our favorite views along the Parkway. Milepost 382 - Folk Art Center: Stop here to see creations from hundreds of the best artists in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Watch artists at work, see several exhibitions and do some early Christmas shopping in their fabulous store. Milepost 407.6 - Mt Pisgah & Pisgah Inn: Expect big crowds here during October, with everyone vying for a window table at 5,000 feet elevation. Shop in their gallery, camp, picnic and hike to the top of Mt. Pisgah. Tip: Wait times for the restaurant often run an hour or more on busy days. Grab your pager first and then browse the gift shop or enjoy the views from their outdoor deck. Milepost 417 - Looking Glass Rock Overlook: See the iconic stone face, along with many mountain ridges. From the overlook, hike just a half mile to Skinny Dip Falls' idyllic setting with multiple cascades. Milepost 418.8 - Graveyard Fields: This super popular hiking spot on the Blue Ridge Parkway usually has the most brilliant and earliest fall colors (first week in October). Take short hike to gorgeous Lower Falls or hike through the mile-high meadow. Milepost 420.2, Black Balsam Knob Hike: This local's favorite trail across multiple balds is one of most spectacular hikes in the North Carolina mountains. Expect many people here, so arrive early or visit midweek for smaller crowds. It's an epic picnic and camping spot.
Homeland Park is a neighborhood built as a resort community of about 70 close by log cabins during the 1930s. It offers handcrafted log cabins and cottages each with unique and special characteristics still present, reminding visitors that this uncommon place is indeed one of Asheville’s treasures. These cabins hold fast to their heritage of a time gone by. This area will charm as you meander through its tree lined streets of oaks and dogwoods, listening to the song birds. Today it is a terrific rental destination or temporary home while relocating. Everything is easy access.
  • My wife and I had a great experience at the cabin. Upon entrance, the cabin felt cozy and comfortable. Lori was an amazing host. She made sure that we were comfortable and supplied us with great information about Asheville. We were so impressed with the cabin that we plan on visiting the cabin with our children. Till we meet again.

    Ramon2015-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lori and Lizzie were incredible hosts- very responsive before and during our stay. They did everything possible to make sure we were comfortable, including staying up until almost midnight the night of our arrival to wait for our text that we arrived and got into the cabin. The cabin itself was rustic and cozy, but had every necessary modern amenity. We didn't get to spend a ton of time at the cabin because there was so much to do around the city, but it was a great place to come back to at night. It was a bit inconvenient, being about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown (which we knew going into it), but overall was a great place to stay. Thanks Lori & Lizzie!

    Rachel2016-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lori was there when we arrived and showed us everything we needed to enjoy our stay in Asheville. She even provided two bottles of locally brewed beer and a delicious rum cake. It couldn't have been a nicer welcome. The cabin has a great location, being close to shops, restaurants, the city of Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway and is in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. The bed was very comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped and the shower spacious with plenty of hot water.

    Bob2016-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip to Asheville was a brief one but thanks to Lori and her beautiful cabin it was also an unforgettable one. Lori was an incredible host! Her attention to detail throughout the cabin and warm personality made our trip wonderful! We can't wait to come back!!

    Constanza2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is my third time staying at Lori's place and I can't imagine staying anywhere else. The cabin has enough space for my husband and I, it is really clean and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. And it is really convenient to everything. Lori is so easy to work with and very responsive. I will totally go back again!

    Huda2017-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lori made us feel so welcome. The cabin was just as described and was great for a weekend getaway for the two of us. The cabin is part of an old summer resort, so there are lots of other little cabins around. The area is nice and wooded so it still feels secluded. It is only 10 minutes from downtown, and is very easy to access by bus and Uber. It is also very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We didn't want to leave!

    Jessica2015-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • From the moment we got to the cabin, Lori made us feel right at home by welcoming us with chilled beers and a homemade sweet treat for my boyfriend's birthday. She also went above and beyond throughout our stay - when our car battery died, she came to the rescue with her neighbor, Bud, and his car battery charging pack, at 9am on a Wednesday morning (Website hidden by Airbnb) The cabin was warm and inviting, and had everything we needed, i.e. linens, kitchen basics, Asheville tourism pamphlets and transportation info, etc. It was impeccably clean, and the sleep number bed was incredible. The lighting fixtures all throughout the cabin are unique and add a lot of cozy charm. The cabins in this community are quite close together, so if you are looking for a secluded cabin in the woods, I don't think this would qualify (Website hidden by Airbnb) There is a bus stop down the road where you can pick up the bus and be downtown in about 25-30 minutes. It runs approximately every half hour. How convenient!? While this cabin is a car or bus ride away from downtown Asheville, I highly recommend it, and will definitely return for a stay the next time we might be in town.

    Jenn2015-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed in Lori and Lizzie's beautiful cabin for a week with our one year old. When we arrived, Lori had set a bed up for him and even had a rubber duck squeak toy as a little present...even better, there were beers in the fridge for us. The cabin is beautiful, clean, and cozy and we loved our stay there. There were SO MANY wonderful resources for things to do and places to eat in the AVL area. This was our second trip and we loved our stay at this perfect cabin for two (and a baby). Thank you sooooo much, Lori and Lizzi!

It's open and the decor is very current. There are also great outdoor spaces to enjoy if the weather permits. Also, the view is great! We would stay here again. Lisa also left brownies and a welcome sign for us!

Nestled in the woods, "Arrowhead" cabin offers the best of both worlds. A relaxing country retreat yet close to everything. It is the perfect starting point to a downtown Asheville excursion, just 15 minutes away, and to an endless array of outdoor activities in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Also within walking distance (about 30 min) to the charming town of Weaverville with its quaint atmosphere, artisan shops and distinctive restaurants.
"Arrowhead" is a brand new 300 square feet cabin. Too small for comfort? Absolutely not! The open layout, large windows and sloped ceiling make the space feel bigger than it is. Yet it feels cozy and intimate. The covered porch adds a comfortable outdoor living space that you can enjoy in all seasons. The cabin sits on a 5.6 acres property, about 180 feet down from our house and 50 feet down from our other cabin "Black Bear" (See below Other things to note). However, the homes are oriented in such a way that your privacy is guaranteed. Among the necessaries provided for your comfort: a simple but well equipped kitchen with a two-burner cooktop, a microwave, a Breville toaster oven and a Keurig with a full tray of complimentary k-cups. A separate bathroom with a shower. Most of the furniture is handmade with reclaimed wood.
  • The photos don’t do this sweet little home nearly enough justice. Charlotte’s place was perfectly clean (it takes a lot for me to say that), her communication was timely, and there were such nice unexpected touches - a bottle of wine, the coziest bed, waters, coffee and creamer - it didn’t seem like there was anything left undone. It’s about 15 minutes to downtown Asheville, yet it’s a quiet, peaceful place to sleep and relax. We had a great stay and already cannot wait to come back! Thanks for having us!

    Ariana2018-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful Airbnb. Everything was as listed and Charlotte was extremely accommodating. Would recommend highly! A+

    Zachary2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • I cannot recommend this cabin enough!! The location is about 15 minutes from downtown Asheville--perfect for being close to the city, but still feels secluded and peaceful. The cabin is beautifully made! Adorable, clean, cozy, we will definitely be coming again!

    Piper2018-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you want a perfect getaway close to the city with a woodsy, peaceful feel this is the place for you. Very modern with all the amenities you need. I had a wonderful time and Charlotte is the friendliest host I’ve ever come across. Would stay over and over again!

    Vincent2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful! Very convenient and so comfy! We visited friends in West Asheville and this was a very quick drive. Check out the artwork and great decor- great esthetic. Charlotte is a very thoughtful host and her home is nearby. The cabin feels secluded but really safe.

    Brad2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most tranquil airbnb I have ever stayed in. Its amenities are impeccable and it is so well appointed. Downtown Asheville is only about 15 minutes away and the Blue Ridge Parkway is close as well. Upon arrival, Charlotte had two glasses and a bottle of wine waiting for us. We loved waking up to the sounds of nature outside and spent most of our evenings relaxing on the beautiful front porch. I cannot thank Charlotte enough for opening such a beautiful space up to the world to enjoy. Look no further than arrowhead! We will definitely be back

    Adrienne2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great choice for anyone looking to unwind and relax close enough to Asheville to run in to town but far enough away to feel alone in the hills. Charlotte was an amazing host with a perfect cabin, hope to stop by again.

Welcome to our beautiful Asheville home! Located six minutes from downtown, this mid-century modern bungalow, nestled in the heart of vibrant West Asheville, offers guests a unique opportunity to explore the city, visit nationally-renowned attractions, dine at award-winning restaurants, and partake in the unique Asheville culture. The Graham House (@Instagram) features modern decor and full amenities so you can feel right at home. And yes, our home is dog-friendly!
The location is impossible to beat- conveniently located off Haywood Road (the local "hot block" for award-winning restaurants, breweries, and bars) you have the best of Asheville at your fingertips. We listed the restaurants below, in "The Neighborhood" section. Definitely worthwhile if you are a "foodie." We welcome all our guests with a curated welcome basket complete with local beer and snacks. The Bungalow itself flaunts a squeaky-clean layout and high-level attention to detail; modern amenities meet classic bungalow style. A true taste of Asheville in every room. We sincerely hope you enjoy our quiet street and natural surroundings, all in the company of family and friends! You deserve it.
West Asheville, a highly sought-after neighborhood, offers a number of gems as the hip part of the city. As locals, we have found West Asheville to be much more favorable due to the strong presence of restaurants, stylish bars, and grocery options. If you are a self-proclaimed foodie, like us, we highly recommend searching a few of our neighborhood restaurants: Biscuit Head (Breakfast; TripAdvisor's #6 restaurant in all of Asheville), Sunny Point Cafe (#1 in Asheville!), The Admiral (#5), Nine Mile (#13), and The Hop (Dessert; #12). These spots are all within 0.7 miles of our Bungalow!
  • We had so much fun staying at Gabby's house. A perfect place to spend time with my family. Of course the pup loved it as well! Thanks Gabby!

    Laura2018-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • The two bedroom home is very nicely decorated and well furnished. All the items one needs for making meals are in the well stocked kitchen. The beds are very comfortable as well as the swinging chair. Gabby provides a nice welcome basket along with very useful information on local places to go to for food or drink. We went to the Glass Onion in Weaverville about a 10 minute drive away. Outstanding food and service! And two doors down is an amazing bakery that we used to load up on for breakfast the next morning. The house is in a secluded neighborhood and somewhat hard to find at first. Apple maps and (Hidden by Airbnb) maps, for example, didn’t agree on the location ( (Hidden by Airbnb) was correct). Gabby responded very quickly to my questions and inquiries. Asheville is one of the citiesthat has highly regulated Air BnB so there are quite a few fees and taxes added on. Overall, it is an excellent house to stay at while visiting Asheville. The coded entry was very useful to us as our arrival time changed due to unforeseen circumstances. Thank you, Gabby!

    Tom2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Gabby's place is perfect! So cute and cozy, my family and pups had a great week long stay. West Asheville is a perfect little town with great food. We enjoyed our stay so much and can't wait to do it again soon.

    Tara2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • I loved working with Gabby! She was very accommodating and easy to work with for my first AirBnB experience. Her house is even more gorgeous in person. Thank you for such an awesome time!

    Nicole2018-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great find for our short stay in Asheville. The whole experience was smooth. Gabby communicated fast, and we appreciated the literally warm welcome we received upon arrival on a cold day - the heater was running and we immediately felt cozy in this beautiful house. Sparking clean, spacious, photogenic, close to coffee and food and shops. We loved our stay so much and definitely would book again when next in town!

    Juvilynn2018-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Gabby's place was in a great West Asheville location & is very well decorated & clean. The bathroom (which I've found can sometimes be the achilles heel of air b&b rentals) was just as lovely! We loved the welcome gift & the suggestions for dining out in the neighborhood. Gabby was also very responsive. Great stay.

This is a private apartment with your own entry, and bath. It is super convenient and only 5-10 minutes to: The Biltmore Estate, Downtown, The Folk Art Center, The NatureCenter, Asheville Mall, Restaurants, Movies, Blue Ridge Parkway, Highland Brewing, Pisgah Brewing and Asheville Municipal Golf course. Hike extensive trails from the house without getting in your car! This is a premium space and is new, modern and super clean. You hike or bike to the Blue Ridge Parkway, about 15 minutes.
This space is super cozy, comfortable and quiet. It is basically a separate condo, attached to the house. It is super private with your own keyed entrance, private bath with large step in shower, breakfast nook area and TV. Our location is very unique. It is not walking distance to downtown Asheville, but you pay for that in congestion, traffic and noise if that is what you are seeking. Here, you will only be minutes away from all the "action" as well as restaurants, movies and shopping. Now it is Christmas Lights and candle light at the Biltmore. We are just a few minutes away. One of Asheville's "must see" events. Please note, no smoking is allowed on premises.
Our neighborhood is comprised of nice ranch homes. It is next to the last on a cul-de-sac so it is very quiet with mainly only neighborhood traffic. We have great neighbors and have occasional neighborhood cookouts and things like that.
  • Tom was an excellent host. He went above and beyond about ensuring we felt at home. Fresh towels and catered to our needs. Very nice space that’s a quick drive to downtown!

  • I was pleasantly surprised with how close I was to downtown and yet how peaceful it was. The house was perfect, spotless, and was up to date. Thomas was an amazing host. He made sure I had everything I needed and offered to give me directions to the places I needed to be. He had the fridge stocked and ready for my weekend get away. I am already planning to return in the Spring for another get away. I highly recommend this Airbnb.

  • This was our first experience with Airbnb and I don't think it could have been a better one. Thomas was a great host! He communicated quickly, gave excellent directions, provided local menus and brochures, and was available but not intrusive. He was also thoughtful enough to provide some toiletries should we have forgotten anything. I can whole-heartedly recommend this property and will certainly stay here the next time we are in Asheville.

This place was PLUSH. Very comfortable arrangements, all the amenities you could want (they weren't listed on the page, but the loft does have a hair dryer and iron as well). Clean and uncluttered. Just in case anyone has concerns about the location of the loft being at ground level in an alley-- we had no issues, the street is well lit and felt very safe, and it was astonishingly quiet for being in the middle of downtown. The location is perfect, and we came in late at night without worry. The loft does get a fair amount of natural light, even with the blinds down... part of its charm I think, but it's worth noting if you're the type of person who wakes up with the sun. We never met Angela face-to-face, but she was incredibly helpful by providing us with plenty of information about Asheville before our trip and leaving guidebooks on the counter when we arrived (along with a delicious bottle o' red and some beverages in the fridge - thank you!). We used the keyless entry to get in and that worked perfectly, and Angela messaged us a few times during our stay to see if we needed anything. It's well worth booking this place over a hotel. All around a great spot, really made our vacation memorable.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a long weekend and felt at home the whole time we were there. The location is very convenient and we were able to walk downtown to the breweries, restaurants and shops in about 10-15 mins and able to drive to the Biltmore in 5-10 mins. Danielle (and RD) were excellent hosts and gave us great tips on where to check out. Our flight plans were changed due to the weather, and she was very flexible with us and allowed us to check in past 1 am, instead of the planned 10:30 pm. Would highly recommend!

Cameron and Sarah's place was adorable! Very cute, updated, comfortable room. I enjoyed the private entrance and private bathroom as well as the added conveniences of coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge. Cameron and Sarah were very nice and provided great recommendations for things to do in Asheville as well as restaurants. I would love to stay here again!
