AIRBNB'S #1 "MOST WISHED-FOR LISTING WORLDWIDE!" *Remaining 2018 dates are available exclusively for folks that have the treehouse on their WISH LIST... Suite of three beautifully furnished rooms set among the trees. Just minutes from downtown, this secluded property is an urban retreat like no other. The treehouse provides an intimate, simple and restful retreat for 2 people. The treehouse is the subject of innumerable articles, blogs, Treehouse Masters and Today Show.
We are honored to have been named Airbnb's "#1 most wish-listed property in the world"!!! Thank you! The treehouse has a Southern nature - gracious, calming, and comfortable. Centrally located within the heart of intown Atlanta, the treehouses are a hidden gem. The subject of TV and magazine features including the Today Show, "Treehouse Masters: Ultimate Treehouse IV", Architectural Digest, Travel + Leisure, Harper's Bazaar, and numerous others, they are often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, dreamy and unique place you'll ever stay. What could be better than falling asleep in the trees and waking up to birds singing around you--all within the city limits? The treehouse consists of 3 separate areas - Mind, Body and Spirit - each connected by rope-bridges. Descriptions of the 3 rooms are below. Mind - The Sitting Room: Antique furnishings and artifacts including 80 year old windows of pressed butterfly wings, a plaster cast of a Siberian Tiger paw, fossils, a couch and chairs, its a great place to read or talk and has a balcony overlooking an acre of lush woods... Body - The Bedroom: Sleeps 2. What could be better than a great bed up in the trees? The super comfortable double bed is outfitted with the world's best bedding: Parachute. These cozy linens are made of 100% long-staple Egyptian cotton and pure Linen. They're Oeko-Tex certified, meaning no harmful chemicals or softening synthetics have been used. You'll have your best night's sleep ever here at the Treehouse! The bed is equipped with wheels so it can either be inside the room or rolled out onto a platform that overlooks the stream below. The mattress has a warmer for cool nights and the tin roof makes rain storms something to be enjoyed. Spirit - The Hammock Deck: Open to the elements and immersed in thick greenery, the deck surrounds the spirited "Old Man", a 165 year old Southern Short-Leaf Pine tree--the largest of the 7 trees that support the treehouse suite and watch over its guests. BATHROOM IS LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT/LOWER LEVEL OF OUR PRIVATE HOME. GUESTS WILL HAVE EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO IT DURING THEIR STAY. The treehouses and main house share a lot and are within a 30 second walk to one another.
The neighborhood is a quiet, residential place. While our lot is located in a particularly peaceful, private and lush part of the area, it is important to remember that it is in the middle of intown Atlanta. And while very private, you can see other residential buildings from the treehouses.. While you may hear the occasional siren, normal neighborhood noise, the devil's hair dryer (leaf blower) or train whistle during your stay, the most common sound is that of silence broken only by birds, frogs and the wind in the trees.
  • My teenage daughter and I came to Atlanta for the night to visit my niece at Oglethorpe. What an amazing place! Katie and Peter responded quickly when we contacted them, provided excellent directions and information, ensured our comfort and provided a lovely breakfast before our departure. Needless to say it was a magical and impressive place to let cousins visit! We hope to be back again soon.

  • I cannot say enough good things about Katie and Peter and their lovely home.. the treehouse was perfect and looks better in real life than it does in the pictures! It had such a warm and welcoming feel about it. Katie and Peter and beautiful souls and I would highly recommend staying with them. They helped make our special day perfect (we got engaged!) and we will never forget this experience.

  • Had a lovely stay! Peter is a gracious, funny host. Treehouses are quirky, arty and most certainly unique, as well as comfortable, relaxing, and soothing. Wine and snacks were a welcome surprise. Small bubbly creek that winds below is a lovely touch of nature. Do yourself a favor, and check it out for yourself.

  • Magical. That is the only way to describe our stay at the Atlanta Tree House. It was private, quiet, relaxing, and peaceful. You could feel the stress of our daily lives melt away as soon as we stepped foot amongst the trees...

  • I LOVED my stay in the treehouse!! This was my first time visiting Atlanta and I wanted to make it memorable. This oasis in the middle of a beautiful town was perfect! Katie and Peter were excellent hosts. Very accommodating and helpful. I was welcomed with a fantastic bottle of wine and a letter from Katie explaining all the nearby attractions and many suggestions for dining. They were even up early the next day to bring me an assortment of hot tea before I headed out at 6am! The treehouse itself is designed beautifully! The bed was extremely comfortable. It even had a heated mattress which balanced perfectly with the brisk fall air. I had such a great time! I highly recommend this place!!!:)

  • This is one of the best kept secrets in Atlanta! A quite getaway within the city that is truly magical. Peter was a great host, someone who I would love to have coffee with sometime. He provided everything that we could of needed and more and greatly exceeded our expectations. Even in mid-July sleeping outside was very comfortable and cool. The Treehouse is a unique experience and something that I would recommend to everyone! We can't wait to go back and hopefully stay longer than just one night!

    Michael2014-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • One of my favorite trips of all time. Everything exceeded my expectations! Highly recommend this experience.

  • My husband and I spent two nights at Katie and Peter’s tree house, and the experience was, as I wrote down in the sign-in book, a real dream come true (and even better). Both Katie and Peter are delightful – attentive but they leave you to your own space. Peter showed me how to play the blowgun darts and I had a lot of fun. We were wowed by the structure and the interior design of the tree house. Among the trees and under a starry sky, the nights were easily dreamy. The breakfasts were very good too. I admire the owners’ creativity and would definitely recommend the place.

THANK YOU to all of our previous guests who helped us become #1 airbnb listing in Atlanta: (based on October 2015 AJC article). We are truly humbled! You can search for 'top 10 airbnbs listings in Atlanta' We love sharing our home with you. We also just upgraded our bathroom with natural stones from Turkey and added luxurious Turkish towels to enhance the experience as well. I hope you'll love it as much we do!
  • The place was exactly what we needed. My boyfriend and I stayed here and it was the perfect size for two people. The place is very clean and modern. Its in a nice neighborhood very close to everything. We were able to find some good Restaurants a very short drive from here. Overall great experience and would consider staying again next time we are in Atlanta. Serap is a wonderful host. She is very easy to reach and provided very awesome, clear directions.

  • Great place in a nice area, walkable to the park. Only stayed for a night, but Serap and Jason were very accommodating. Highly recommend staying here and meeting their awesome Weimaraner 🐶

  • Serap's place was perfect for our weekend stay in Atlanta. Close to the Zoo and park, plenty of good food and great neighborhood. The apartment was cozy and had everything we needed.

  • Serap was a wonderful host with a lovely home. She had everything we needed laid out. From snacks and coffee, to toiletries and towels she thought of everything. The instructions to get the key were easy to understand, and she was timely with her responses when I messaged her. She had a print out with great restaurants in our room as well! I would definitely recommend staying with Serap, and we will definitely stay with her again when we come back to Atlanta!

    Hannah2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Serap's apartment was so nice! We loved the neighborhood and she gave us a sheet of recommended local spots that was really handy.

    Hayley2016-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • I've used Airbnb a few times and I must say that this was by far my best experience. For starters, I requested a reservation extremely last minute (within 9 hours) so I wasn't sure if I she would be able to accommodate. Not only was the place available, but Serap greeted me and took out the time show me around the place and give me a brief introduction to the neighborhood. The place was really comfortable, in a great neighborhood with a lot of amenities and very close to practically anything you'd want to do. I would definitely recommend Serap's place when visiting Atlanta. Her and the family are GREAT!

Soon featured on Treehouse Masters: Ultimate Treehouse (2018!) Secluded treehouse built with reclaimed antiques, luxe beds, power, AC/Heat, marble baths, in private bamboo forest, on a working farm. You'll never sleep in a more unique space than this charm-filled, storybook jewel box. Listen as roosters crow 15 feet above the forest floor, yet in Atlanta. We book weddings, videos, photography for special rates! On a budget? Check out the 3 bedroom AIRBNB Luxury Llama Cottage also on property.
We just filmed Treehouse Masters "Ultimate Treehouse" with Pete Nelson and were honored to be featured as an Ultimate Treehouse! Episode to be aired in early 2018. We also just filmed an episode of the ABC Primetime TV Show, "Kevin Probably Saves the World" and filmed 3 episodes of the VH1 show "Love & Hip Hop," a multitude of music videos (Trey Songz was a highlight), commercial videography, still photography, intimate events, and weddings. Message me if you're interested in these special rates please. We don't allow parties in the treehouse, but can handle medium sized parties in the Llama Cottage. Message for rates please. Up and away in the front yard of our treehouse, lives the gorgeous Luxurious Llama Cottage in Hip East Atlanta--check it out on airbnb. It's beautifully designed and appointed brick cottage with views of the barn, llamas, and alpacas. In our treehouse, you wake up on the queen size memory foam bed in a climate-controlled loft and peer out the large skylight at the swaying zen bamboo. Look to the Southern gable and take in the gorgeous jewel tones of the stained glass and see the bamboo through the French doors. Look to the forest floor to see grazing alpacas and a llama. We also have our beautiful and comfortable swinging rope bed (Bali bed) decked out with a slew of comfy pillows and a full sized mattress! The treehouse is built with all reclaimed architectural antiques, so staying here is like living a jewel box, an art project. Roosters crow nearby because you are on a working farm, in City of Atlanta. You are 15 feet above the forest floor, tucked into the middle of a 80- year old bamboo forest. And there are beautiful Bolivian suri alpacas (like a small llamas with dreadlocks) roaming. We also have a very gentle and calm llama named Dali and her son Pogo. This treehouse was built with reclaimed architectural salvaged elements so you have the feeling you are in a historic room with the multi-colored walls of heart of pine beaded board. But the two skylights, with views of the bamboo canopy above, shed dappled light through the vaulted ceiling and remind you that's it's not the late 1800s. Some of the beaded board was reclaimed from Civil War era homes. The treehouse features several pieces of late 1800s stained glass, heart of pine floors from an old 1905 church, 120 year old French doors that open onto a wrap- around catwalk, a composting toilet, heat and air, and electrical throughout. You'll want to sip your coffee or a glass of wine on the large treehouse porch, held up by black locust trees, still sporting their bark. Or maybe you'll want to walk around the deck of the tree house to check out the bamboo forest or the alpacas. The tree house roof is clad in 1871 South Georgia barn tin, so if it rains, you'll have a night of gentle percussive rhythm (we sprayed insulation foam so the treehouse is energy efficient and the roof not too loud). Our stairs are live-edge heart cedar and quite beautiful. The treehouse is wrapped in cedar and 120 year-old heart of pine siding salvaged off an old Atlanta house (the porch, so it wasn't painted). We furnished our tree house in antiques and we have a composting toilet, a small fridge, a Keurig coffee maker, 3 gallons of potable water, and an antique enamelware wash basin to wash your face. The fully functional (running water) marble bathroom is a short walk down a rustic path through the bamboo forest. Contact us if your also interested in having a wedding here (they are so magical), doing engagement photography, shooting music videos, hosting small events for (eight or less)or shooting a television show. These have special rates and terms. But we are happy to accommodate! We have two other gorgeous Airbnbs as well: Atlanta Llama Luxury Cottage (on the same property and we allow kids here). The cottage is in the middle of the llama/alpaca herd so you can see them from every room and the spaces are beautiful. And we have Historic House of Blues in Hip, Hot Kirkwood. It’s a gorgeous 1920s Craftsman bungalow close in town and filled with charm!
The Neighborhood of East Atlanta The neighborhood is residential but we are a working farm, so you'll hear the crowing of roosters although somewhat muffled by the bamboo. But be mindful that you're in Atlanta and you may hear the occasional siren or traffic sounds during your stay. You'll also hear the birds that live in the bamboo, the humming of alpacas, and the quacking of the nearby ducks. There are a ton of delicious eateries and bars in East Atlanta Village: Argosy, Holy Taco, The Shed, We Suki Suki and the Buford HWY Collective of amazing food vendors, Thai-Sushi, Soba, Midway, Tomatillos, Grant Central Pizza, and The Elder Tree (Irish Pub).
  • Had a wonderful time and experience! Truly a hidden gem in Atlanta!!!

  • Think of the alapeca and bring a bag of organic baby carrots and wear boots or shoes you do not mind getting dirty

  • My boyfriend and I went for a peaceful night from the city. We live 10 minutes away and felt like we were in a completely different country. Kara and Kate are hands down the coolest people we have met. Super jealous of them. We learned so much about the the farm and treehouse. Love the stories, animals and everything about our stay. I can keep going but long story short, you should just go and I promise, you will not regret it. Robert and Brenda (RnB)

    Brenda2018-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • So unique - from the bamboo forest to the alpaca to the quirky little village just minutes away. The treehouse has just about everything you need - just be prepared to make a short walk to the bathroom and know that the loft is super warm and cozy but sleep on the downstairs sofa could be a bit chillier (though there are plenty of linens!) and, um, lumpier (as sofabeds tend to be). But it is worth it to sleep under the twinkle lights around the treehouse in the bamboo forest! Be sure to bring baby carrots for the alpaca, and hit up Revolution Donuts at some point!

    Joe2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • From check in to the dreaded check out, I had a wonderful experience at the the Alpaca Treehouse. Kara was so knowledgeable which made me feel ver comfortable interacting with her animals. I did not know what to expect staying in a treehouse, but the AC was superb, compost toilet was near to learn about, and the "marble bathroom" was a nice touch and just down the path. I am looking forward to my next stay here, and will probably come buy some eggs in the meantime (and pet the alpacas and llamas of course).

    Ruby2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our one night stay swept us off our feet. We started out by meeting all the animals and walking around the grounds - the alpacas are adorable, the chicken are beautiful and the dogs were the so loving and welcoming. It was the perfect escape from technology and the monotony of day to day life. It's a great place to bond with friends, family and/or lovers while enjoying the calming environment that surrounds you. And, Kara was amazing in regards to responsiveness and hospitality. It's rare that you come across such kind individuals in life!

    Megha2018-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • It's a different experience

    Veldalene2018-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing treehouse made from reclaimed materials that make it a unique and beautiful creation. Kara's tour of the llama's and chickens with their fanciful names is also part of this unique experience, not to be missed!

Although brief, I really enjoyed my stay at Scott and Margot's place. It was just as described, very close to everything in Decatur, very clean and the bed was cozy. Instructions were easy to follow and I got right in the house upon arrival. I'll definitely book again next time in Decatur. Thanks!
