  • My brother and I decided to make a trip to Portland/Seattle for a fun vacation, and the opportunity to see the other side of the country. Lance's home did not disappoint. We have been in Portland a few days now and the view from the treehouse is the absolute BEST in the city. We spent our first night there and it was a breathtaking way to begin our trip- and see all of Portland before diving into the city. Lance was an awesome host, great to converse with, and had the sweetest cat you will ever meet (this is coming from a dog person). We had such a wonderful time and are looking forward to visiting again soon!

    Jessica2016-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • A startling view over Portland from this most fantastic and very pleasing space between trees and the sky. Meeting Lance and Barbie was a treat too.

    Philippe2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lance's house is amazing! Completely unique property, amazing styling inside, perfect views of Portland. Lance was friendly, easy to talk to, and incredibly welcoming. Bukowski is a welcome addition to the house as well! Check in and check out were easy. We were in total awe of the property, and would love to come back one day.

    Cal2016-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lance and Bukowski are great hosts and the view is second to none!

    Aaron2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place! Love the views from the place! And loved that it was close to a park where you can see the city!

    Jackie2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house in a unique area of Portland. Lance was a great host and I would recommend his place for a quite getaway. The view is breath taking from the tree house too.

    Joel2015-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great and unique house with a magnificient view. Clean and spacious room. Lance was easy to talk to.

    슬아/Seulah2015-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is gorgeous! The view does not disappoint. The drive to the house is curvy and full of luscious trees. It's close to parks, hiking trails, and downtown Portland. Lance greeted us upon our arrival and was helpful with unloading our luggage. Our party ended up being larger than anticipated, so we relocated to another place. This is a great spot for a couple's get away or two friends sharing the view of the world together!

Unique hand built cob cottage next to lg. pond w water feature. Lg. fenced and gated yard. Gentle, curving space-made from sand, straw, water and earth . Featured in multiple international publications. The floor is also earthen clay with added radiant heat. Beautiful natural light. It's truly a magical place.
It's a curvilinear earthen structure hand sculpted from water, sand, straw, and clay earth. It features a radial roof with a central pagoda-like skylight. When building the Cob, we used reclaimed and natural materials when ever possible. The insulation in the ceiling is made from pulverized reclaimed blue jeans and the floor is made from the same earthen clay. It has a Dutch door, so you can open the top part for additional ventilation. It also has air conditioning available in the warmer months and a radiant heat floor. The bed is a very comfortable double with a memory foam mattress topper. The bathroom for the cottage is in the main house, about 40 steps to the back door. Inside you’ll find a large sitting room and full kitchen as well as your bath with claw foot tub and shower. These spaces are shared with 2 Airbnb rooms in the house. If you find the bath busy, our full bath is available upstairs on the second floor.
We are located in a sweet older neighborhood in inner SE Portland, built around the turn of the century. The neighborhood is extremely walkable/bikeable, and just two blocks from one of Portland's great restaurant rows, filled with unique locally owned restaurants, coffeehouses, bars, food carts, pot shops, ice cream vendors, pizza joints, clothing retailers, yoga studios and yes, even an old-school hardware store.
  • Great folks, super hospitable and helpful!

  • Great spot...loved it!

    Chad2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The earthen cob is truly the most cozy room I've ever stayed in. The floor was heated ..and clean. It smelled good in there. The pond just outside our door had a waterfall. There were cute cats roaming around. The bathroom was very comfortable and nicely decorated. Also, the mirror in the bathroom is very kind! ...meaning great lighting! ..Even if it's not realistic (haha). The location is great for awesome restaurants. Easy parking on the street. Was really sad to leave. Hope to be back. Thanks for the hospitality Chris & Jack!

    Katrin2018-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was adorable. Super clean and cute. The bathroom was extremely clean as well. Both very much appreciated! The neighborhood is nice and central and so quiet to sleep at night. Overall a very lovely & sweet place to stay :)

This wonderful, private little gem is just a few easy walking blocks from plentiful drinking, dining, dispensing, yoga & coffee spots. You will be one block from Woodlawn Park, 2 blocks from a bus and a 5 minute drive from the Alberta Shopping and Arts District. It's all so comfortably close by, but not close enough to disturb your relaxing, sweet retreat. Come have it all while living small in this tiny, artsy home away from home!
This space was built as a Model T Garage in 1926 behind a 1915 bungalow but it has had a face lift and has taken on a new life as a cozy, warm freestanding studio made mostly from reclaimed materials. A "tiny house" if you will, sweetly positioned between fruit trees and a garden sitting area. The sleeping loft comfortably sleeps two and there is a futon below the loft where one can enjoy a book while the other naps above. Occasionally you will hear the trains in the distance which adds a touch of nostalgia and you get to wake to the relaxing clucking and cooing of the neighborhood hens as this area has a nice spattering of urban farms and lots of mature trees. For your comfort, this as a "pet dander free" space. No pets, thanks. The table pictured here has been replaced with a "garden shed" counter that houses a small, removable basin sink. There is also a rustic, rough hewn armoire to hang clothes and tuck away your backpacks. The little kitchenette corner is stocked with utensils, a two burner cooktop, a mini fridge, a microwave, coffee and a coffee press. The studio's setup is more akin to a cabin, and as many cabins go, there is no bathroom. You will be given a key to the main house so please feel comfortable enough to come in and use the facilities. By the way, it is insulated, well heated, and stocked with plenty of blankets so it is a wonderful, warm hideaway in the fall and winter months as well. Yep, snuggly wifi too. The yard is plentiful with flowers and fruit bearing trees (figs and delicious yellow plums) in the summertime, as well as an array of veggies in the gardens where you can sit amongst the trees and regroup after a hard day at Powells Books. It's within a 5 minute walk from the heart of Woodlawn which has some fantastic spots to shop, drink, dance, and dine: -Firehouse Restaurant, somewhat romantic with good service -Woodlawn Coffee House, for plenty of people watching -Breakside Brewery, to grab a bite and catch up on the game -Grand Army Tavern, have some pork with your...pork : ) -Good Neighbor Pizza, laid back & late night too -P's & Q's Market serves yummy meals and a few grocery items -The Village Ballroom, for Square Dance and Special events -Uptown Cycles, sales and repairs -Portland Girl, spa day anyone? -Greener Grasses, well-rated dispensary -Koken Market, for almost any beer you want, snacks -Café Eleven, art, coffee, lunch & some pastries -Oregon Public House, the nation's 1st nonprofit pub -The Highwater Mark, rock pub with pool & hip hop on last Fridays -Tamale Boy, authentic & delicious with lots of outside seating -Bassato Gelato, 12 rotating flavors+bagels in the morning -HighWheel Mead, open Thurs-Sunday -(Seasonally) Woodlawn Farmer's Market at Woodlawn Triangle, Sat. 10-2 Downtown is a 15 minute drive. The Alberta Arts District is also just minutes away so you can hop on a bike and be right in the middle of the jam-packed Last Thursday Art Walk or make a day of it with shopping, dinner and some delicious ice cream from the infamous Salt & Straw. Then come "home" to your quieter retreat where you can just relax and lay in the hammock.....ahhhh. And as the area is well surrounded by beautiful, mature trees, you may decide to enjoy dinner in the love seat swing under the pergola and watch the evening sky. It is a wonderful theatre for watching small bats do their sky routine in the distance. Flying in? This spot is only 10 minutes from the airport. And while in Portland, you may want some wheels! Well, this location is very close to Zipcars and you can sign up with them or Car2go on their sites in advance of your stay. Check out Turo or Getaround to grab a vehicle to tool But if you want to explore the city on two wheels, Everybody Bike Rentals or Ebikes ( electric bike rentals) are the spots to hit first (10 min. by bus). They provide helmets and locks too! ***If you don't see the dates available on the calendar that you had hoped for or if you are traveling with more than two people, please check out my other listing (#95313) which is also a private studio at the same location. It is larger and complete with a private entry and bathroom. Just ask me! Parking is close and the livin' is pretty easy. So please get that profile completed, then contact me and come kick up your heels and stay a while! Oh! P.S. Please read the description, house rules and post a pic of you in your profile beforehand just so that everyone is on the same page. Much appreciated. Cheers!
  • Cute little home, thanks Andrée!

    Arnau2017-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • This space and Andrée are both wonderful! The cabin is rustic, homey, cozy, and intriguing all at the same time. The same could be said for Andrée. She made me feel absolutely welcome, there was no weirdness or disconnect. If there's anything you want to know, about Portland (or anything really) she will gladly pass on what she knows. And the space made me feel like I was back at camp.... but just nicer and for grownups. :) the bed is just.... sigh. It's lofted but it was the best nights sleep I'd had in a long time. Highly recommended!

  • Great time staying here- just what we were looking for.

    Liza2015-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you're staying here, then chances are you're interested in the tiny house movement and expect to not have a bunch of square feet to roam around in. Andrèe was very kind and informative about the local night life and restaurants and was respectful of our privacy. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you're interested in tiny houses!

    Brian2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place and our host made our first time using Air BnB quite pleasant! An easy and inexpensive Uber ride from just about anywhere in Portland with a lot of good food and drinks just a two block walk away.

    William2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Andrée was very accommodating of our late night arrival and stayed communicative throughout our stay. The place was just as pictured and feels very homey. I highly recommend!

    Sophie2016-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny home is so dreamy. It's compact but comfortable. Andrée will go out of her way to make you feel at home. Truly couldn't ask for a better stay.

    Ruben2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Andree’s tiny home was cute, but it was nowhere as nice as the photos. I’m not sure if it’s been awhile since the original pictures were taken, but the place has not been maintained well. Many of the items in the photos are not there such as the sign inside, the table, the outdoor seating area, etc. The trees are very overgrown and it would’ve been nice to have both parts of the screen in the door so we can open it to cool the place off (there’s no AC). It was also annoying that the shower hours only allow you to shower between 9am and 9pm. I get that it’s to keep noise down for the other air bnb guests in her home, but most people visiting the city want to wake up early to see everything, and then get home late and want to shower after a hot day. Additionally, the location was not great. I’m not sure why Woodlawn was described as “hip”, but the neighborhood was a little sketchy; we saw someone hit a parked car and keep on driving, and in general there wasn’t much there. After visiting I would much rather stay in the Pearl district downtown. Andree was a very nice host, but I think the place needs some work in comparison to how it was depicted.

With lots of space and light, this studio has everything that makes a house feel like a home: a fireplace, a full kitchen, a queen bed, oak floors, handmade furniture, cable tv including HBO, and a private entrance.
This studio is a welcoming space in the center of an historic neighborhood that offers a unique perspective on the city of Portland. Ask me for in-depth info on where to go and what to see in the Irvington neighborhood, the Alberta Arts District, and other parts of Northeast Portland! Over the years, I’ve gotten to know quite a few incredible places to eat, drink, shop, and explore here. Located at the hub of some of Portland’s most interesting neighborhoods, this studio places the whole city at your fingertips. But adventure can be tiring, and the studio offers ample opportunity to put your feet up. Portland can get nippy at night, and a real wood fireplace, stocked with firewood from locally harvested and dried urban hardwood trees, is the perfect way to warm up and feel at home. The apartment has high ceilings and a great fireplace; it’s minimally decorated but has all the important things: a queen bed, a couch with a coffee table, a small desk, a dresser and extra shelves, and a kitchen table. The kitchen comes fully stocked with the essentials for cooking a real meal, and the bathroom always has towels, soap and shampoo. The space is located on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen.
The Irvington neighborhood, now only a ten minute bike ride from downtown, was once a trolley-car suburb to the just-fully-developed West side. Designated a historic district by the National Register of Historic Places in 2010, Irvington is filled with early 20th century homes that have been preserved in their original states. Irvington has become a livable hub of Northeast Portland as a whole, with shops and restaurants of all kinds, within walking distance, surrounding the neighborhood. Irvington proper boasts more than a few community and culinary destinations of its own.
  • This was such a great place to stay! Jason has created a lovely space and was welcoming, kind and helpful. Exploring this charming neighborhood was an added bonus to the trip. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Had a great stay in Portland. Jason's place was cozy and certainly felt like home for a few days

  • First time in Portland and this place was perfect! Located in a beautiful neighborhood, perfect for a leisurely stroll. The room was as described; clean, quaint, and just the right size for comfort. We really appreciated the fireplace and cozy atmosphere. Would love to stay here again on our next trip!

    Nicole2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • This was a centrally located spot for the needs of my stay. The place was clean, easy to find, close to many things, and had a cute charm to it. The only thing and this is the case with older buildings- since it is an 8-plex, you hear everything so make sure and bring earplugs in case you want to sleep in. There was street parking available and Hannah was very responsive when needed.

    Lacey2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this apartment and the location. Very easy to get around and the home was so peaceful and cozy. I would definitely stay here again.

    Jessica2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Jason sent us a message prior to our visit saying he could give us suggestions of what to do in Portland. The location is close to the Alberta Arts District which is likely highly desirable to many visitors. The apartment has architectural charm although the bathroom is tiny and furnishings are sparse.

This quaint 1 bedroom furnished apt. is located downstairs in our historic brick English tutor home. It has a separate key, private entrance, and courtyard. The space is well-lit with two windows and has a back door to a beautiful garden and patio in the backyard as well as a side door to the courtyard. The location is Laurelhurst - one of Portland's oldest and most beautiful planned communities on a quiet, tree lined street within 10 minutes of the city and 15 min. from the airport. Major shopping, wonderful restaurants and one of Portland's most beautiful parks are all within walking distance. This ideal location is only two blocks from a major bus line and 5 blocks from the MAX train. It is also within walking distance of favorite east side shopping and dining areas, including Hawthorne, Belmont and 28th street. When you enter this mid-century decorated apartment you will immediately feel at home! You will find a comfortable queen sized bed, overstuffed chair and desk with the latest mesh technology wireless internet, flat screen TV with cable, Blu-ray CD player, a collection of movies in the bedroom. Other amenities include a private courtyard, washer/dryer in the apt., and easy walking distance to bus, train, restaurants and shopping. More information on our historic home can be found on Oregon Encyclopedia website. Search for "Brick House Beautiful". Our home has also been in "Better Home and Gardens" magazine and has been twice on the cover of "Old House Journal". If we are home when you arrive, we will be happy to give you a tour of our home and offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine while you have complete access to our English gardens, courtyard and barbecue during your stay. We think you will be pleased if you choose to stay in the "Quaint English Garden Apartment " located in our beautiful historic home!
Laurelhurst is an historic old Portland neighborhood with beautiful homes, street trees and a huge park a few blocks away designed by the Olmsted's who designed Central Park in NYC. You will see how homes in Laurelhurst are each very different and unique from craftsmen with large porches to smaller bungalows with beautiful gardens.
  • I had a great time staying in Sue and Bobs place. The house was very pretty and in a great neighborhood. They were both friendly and excellent hosts.

    Matt2016-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is as described. It is in a neat, historic neighborhood of Portland. It is an easy walk to public bus. The hosts have lots of suggestions and are very approachable, without disturbing privacy. I highly recommend staying here.

    Sheila2018-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was perfect for our stay in Portland. All of the decorations were so neat and it had all the amenities you could ask for. Bob and Sue were beyond gracious and helpful during our visit and we can't wait to come back and stay again! Thank you!

    Miranda2012-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great neighborhood and one of a kind house. Perfect for visitors with an interest in history and architecture. Convenient location and easy on street parking.

  • Loved this historic little cottage. Sue and Bob have a fantastic home, and the cutest cat on the planet. We would love to visit again!

    Benji2016-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sue and Bob greeted us with a very sincere and cordial reception! After a long journey to their gorgeous home, they made us feel very welcomed. There was even a treat, a bowl of fresh fruit, on the table when we arrived. The description of the place really doesn't do it justice. The accommodations are wonderful! The bed is so comfy. The kitchen is darling and has everything you need, even a popcorn popper. The shower is perfect after a long day of hiking around Portland. The gardens are so beautiful and peaceful. The location was perfect for us visiting our son who lived close by, but even if someone was just visiting Portland, the place is situated in a lovely neighborhood that is very close to the many sites of Portland. Sue and Bob provided a folder filled with good information about where to eat, shop, visit and how to get around the city. We had a terrific experience, and wish we could of spent more time with Sue and Bob.

Everything you need is here at our brand new guesthouse loft: a luxurious, lofted queen bedroom; high ceilings with floods of natural light, a modern kitchen, full bath with heated tile, comfy sleeper sofa for extra guests, and Stumptown Coffee with organic cream. The loft rests at the back of the property, one block from bustling Division St, and short blocks from restaurants, coffeeshops, & the Woodsman Tavern, named “One of America’s Best Bars,” by Esquire Magazine.
The loft is located in our backyard in Southeast Portland. While we are only steps away if you need us, the space is very private. In fact, guests report that they forget they are in the middle of the city when they stay in our space! We live in a desirable and fun neighborhood, and parking can be tight! Guests usually find parking within a block of our house. At night or during busy times of the day, parking can be found within two short blocks. Guests may feel free to use our driveway for loading/unloading. We do not have a TV in the guesthouse, but offer excellent wifi access.
Our neighborhood has everything you will need, mostly within a five-minute walk! And if you want to visit a different part of the city, there is convenient public transportation around the corner. Check out excellent coffeeshops blocks away (Good Coffee and Stumptown), delicious and intimate restaurants (Bete Lukas, Mi Mero Mole, The Woodsman), or walk up to Mt. Tabor Park. If you're into yoga, there's an awesome space (Yoga Union) around the corner.
  • We absolutely loved our stay in Laurel and Brian's loft! It has everything you need and is in a great location. Love how you guys did the space. This is the standard all airbnbs should be at, thanks so much, we hope to visit Portland again sometime!

    Matthew2017-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel and Brian delivered a nice, clean, well appointed and rather hip guest house, it was very much enjoyed. Suggest trying the Fern restaurant just around the corner for breakfast or lunch.

    Bill2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of our best Airbnb experiences to date! Laurel and Brian's apartment is full of light and has everything you need, including a supremely comfortable bed. We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed walking/biking to many of our favorite restaurants in Portland. It was easy to coordinate our details with Laurel, and she went out of her way to meet us and welcome us in person, which was so nice. Overall, it was a perfect getaway weekend, and we would gladly stay with them again!

    Kim2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • I can honestly say that this was one our best Airbnb experiences. Laurel and Brian were responsive and really went the extra mile advising us during our trip. Fantastic hosts. The loft is beautiful, clean, private, and very well equipped with everything that was needed for a most comfortable stay. Highly recommended and I cannot wait to go back!

    David2017-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Laurel & Brian's place was amazing - such a cute interior and perfect for our short stay in Portland. Highly recommend!

    Cameron2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Laurel & Brian's unit. Check in was super easy, the place was perfectly located for us, walkable from a quite a bit, and central and drivable to everything else we wanted or needed to do while in Portland. The unit was clean, comfortable, spacious, and well equipped with lots of nice little details that made it a perfect spot. The bed was super comfy too. :)

    Craig2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was fabulous with our stay. The place was very comfortable, even for a family of 4. Light, airy, perfect. Full kitchen, super hosts who genuinely care about their guests. A jewel.

  • The room was great - clean and looked just as it does in the pictures. There were fresh towels and even some water in the mini fridge for me and my sister. The bathroom and shower were also clean and provided the amenities Tim said would be available. We wished we could have stayed in Portland a little longer so that we could have enjoyed the beautiful rooftop deck. It was a comfortable stay overall. Our only issue was that we did not receive an itinerary from Tim prior to our arrival. The entrance to the building was a little obscure, and Tim was not home when we arrived. So check-in took longer than we hoped. But once we were settled, everything went well.

  • I didnt het to meet Tomothy, but it 2as easy to communicate with him. His rooms are beautiful and the bed was incredibly comfortable! Everything was clean and better than described. Thank you Timothy!

    Lisa2015-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Timothy's Spacious bedroom was exactly what we needed. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Being off the main road, it was a bit noisy but the location was quite convenient - near a bus stop, walking distance from some restaurants and right next to Bushel & Peck (an amazing bakery). The shared bathroom was clean and there was never a wait - complete with shampoo and conditioner. We had a great stay and would come back if we came back to the area.

    Melissa2015-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Tim. The room was just as advertised, next time were in Portland we'll stay with Tim.

    Brian2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • The room and facilities were as the host described. The place was setup as b&b (sans breakfast) rather than a home/apartment, which was perfectly fine by me. Everything was clean, functioning, and up-to-date; great place to stay overall. The room itself was quite good: nice bed, in-room fridge, tv. Check-in and checkout were really easy, as you just show up, type a key code in the private entrance, and the key was in the room’s lock.

    Robert2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay at Timothy's in room 202. Peaceful, quiet, comfy bed. He met me at checkin in the parking lot and welcomed me in. I enjoyed the cool entrance and all the green. Perfec for me. A much needed R&R for my visit the 17th-21st :) I walked down to Ned Ludd's and enjoyed s delicious dinner there and some late night wine another time. thank you Timothy!

    Mariana2016-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We didn't meet Timothy but check in was very easy once we received an email with instructions, and he made it known that he was easily available if we needed anything! What a nice room! Exceeded expectations. Very cozy feel but also bigger than expected! The whole upstairs area had a small private hostel feel to it - a few private rooms and two shared bathrooms, a small shared living space and a back deck. We didn't explore the neighborhood *too* much but the block we were on was great - looked like a really nice farm to table restaurant next door, and a cute bakery and coffee shop was two doors down, which we went to in the morning. Highly recommended!

    Bethany2015-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was a wonderful, accommodating host. He was very welcoming and made sure every step of arriving and checking in went well. His place is so comfortable and better than a hotel! The bed was so comfortable, I had really good rest. I would stay here again definitely.

Relaxed + modern one bedroom basement apt. Bright + spacious with a handmade Portland touch. Comfortable for two, it's a great home-base for the traveler wanting to explore PDX! Located in charming Woodlawn neighborhood. Near the park, bars and bus lines.
Handmade by us! We're a craftsman and an interior designer who are not afraid to get our hands dirty. Stay in this remodeled basement where every detail was thought, planned and carefully constructed. We value high-end, conscious design. Our motto is maintain, reclaim and sustain. All of the exposed wood was salvaged from this 100 year old home! We love our house and hope that you do too. It's a great, peaceful place to crash at the end of the day. A plush queen sized bed, a huge doorless walk-in bathroom (ie. divided by a wall), glass walk-in shower and a tiny but efficient kitchen were top priorities when we made this place. The kitchen has dishwasher/fridge/oven stocked with all the pots/pans and plates to make a nice meal at home. Its always a shifting art-installation, so don't be surprised if the art in the listing photos change. We like to collect art and objects during our travels.
We're one block from 2 major bus lines (the 8 goes to downtown) and our neighborhood market, P's & Q's. 3 blocks from Woodlawn park + 5 blocks to our neighborhood hub: breweries, dance hall, coffee shop and restaurants. Woodlawn is a great area and closely located to Alberta Arts District, Mississippi and Kenton.
  • Everything was perfect! Lovely neighborhood!

    Dylan2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy's place was amazing! Very clean and simple. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and close to a lot of other cool neighborhoods. Anna was very helpful with anything we needed and had tons of suggestions for things to do in the city. We will be staying here next time we come!

    Buzzy2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy are wonderful hosts. We didn't meet them but communication was always great. Their place is awesome and located in a cool neighbourhood. Would definitely recommend their place to stay in Portland!

    Renee2014-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Jeremy's place was THE cleanest place we've ever stayed! Anna was there to greet us and show us around the apartment. She has a great binder full of neighborhood and Portland suggestions if you need them. The apartment looks exactly as pictured and described. Couldn't have asked for a better stay!

    Sarah2016-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • The space was well designed, quiet and comfortable. Bed, bedding and pillows were great. Plenty of space, and well laid out. Communication was great before and after.

    Stephanie2017-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely perfect it is closed everywhere you want to go in Portland it's beautiful the bathroom is absolutely breathtaking the bed is comfortable everything is so clean and ready for your stay please really had a wonderful time and we recommend it to everyone there was even a binder full of suggestions as far as food and nightlife and Anna was nice enough to also suggest places to shop everything is so organized and the unit is incredibly private it felt like we really were on our own I couldn't think of a better place to stay when visiting Portland and we will definitely be staying again!!!

    Darlenne2016-11-23T00:00:00Z

A quiet, cozy bedroom & bathroom on the ground floor of a beautiful, modern new home in a verdant, friendly Southeast Portland neighborhood. Enthusiastic greeting by very friendly dogs & cat comes standard!
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION. As a courtesy to our guests, our check-in time is 2:00 pm; however, as we both work weekdays, we cannot have the rooms ready until 5:30 or so. What this means is that our guests are welcome to make themselves at home in their living room or just drop their bags off and head out exploring, but they won't be able to rest their weary heads or hit the showers until we've had a chance to get home and tidy up. (PLEASE NOTE: This listing highlights the primary guest bedroom available, but for parties of 3 or 4 people, we do have a secondary bedroom that also features a queen-sized bed. If you are making a reservation for two people and you wish to book both bedrooms, PLEASE EXPLICITLY TELL US SO, as the default for two guests is ONE bedroom; for a two-guest reservation, the cost will be the listed room rate + $30/night. All guests share the same bathroom.) There is almost an entire floor available in our newish home smack-dab in the heart of fun, accessible Southeast Portland! This means that our guest(s) get not only their own quiet bedroom, but also a private full bathroom AND their own nicely-appointed living room (please note: the first-floor living room is NOT private, as it does not have a ceiling and is the way between the front door of the house and the stairs to the second floor). We are steps away from a frequent-service bus line, a terrific sandwich shop that's open for breakfast, lunch AND dinner, a pizza joint, a Starbucks, and, best of all, a Trader Joe's! The house is about two miles south of the trendy Hawthorne district, one mile south of nationally-recognized Division Street, and about four miles east of downtown Portland. The house itself is a beautiful, soaring Doug Fir- and hemlock-constructed dream home decorated with one-of-kind glass art pieces and potted succulents. Our guests have access to our fabulous kitchen in addition to their own first-floor amenities. We have a very friendly housecat you will likely meet during your stay, but the guest bedroom and guest bathroom doors are kept closed for the comfort of allergen-sensitive guests. We also have two friendly dogs who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spend their time hanging out with us and don't wander much to the guest floor. Lastly, to our guests during the colder months: the guest floor tends to be the coolest in the house, and we provide space heaters and afghans for your comfort, but we figure we should let you know ahead of time that if you run cold, ours may not be the ideal place for your stay.
Our neighborhood is so great! We are really close to several cool Portland hubs, but we're on a relatively quiet residential street so we truly have the best of all worlds.
  • I loved staying at Brad and Becca's treehouse in Portland. They were very communicative and welcoming upon arrival. The space and amenities were nice - an entire living room, bathroom and bedroom with extra blankets, pillows, storage space, blow dryer and more provided. They had really cool maps of the local neighborhood and a world map of all their visitors. Great location, cute space, overall great experience. Thanks for having us!

    Amanda2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca made our stay superb! Their place is straight out of an interior design magazine, and the attention to detail was great (ie. clean towels hung on racks, clean room, chocolates by the bed). Also, their cat and new puppy are adorable. Highly recommended!

    Tom2013-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying with Brad and Becca. The house was a quick drive to downtown Portland, but far enough away to not feel like you're in the middle of the city. The animals were super friendly, we were slightly obsessed with the kitten! Bedroom was clean, and very comfortable! Awesome experience, would definitely stay there again!

    Melissa2014-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Staying with Brad and Becca was an amazing experience! Their place is nicer than a hotel and the floor you stay on is so private. Both Brad and Becca are very social and were super willing to give us suggestions on what to do, eat, and plan! Their home is so central to everything fun to do in Portland. Whether you want to stay in the city of venture out into some nature based activities, you are going to be SO close staying in the Urban Treehouse!

    Sarah2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using airbnb and it was great! Brad and Becca are real cool people! Only chatted for a bit because my friends and I needed to try every restaurant possible. Their home is really nice: clean, quiet, and relaxing. I'd definitely stay with them again! Thanks for making my first airbnb stay a great experience.

    Katherine2014-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Brad &Becca were the best first airbnb experience for us! They gave us fun recommendations for places to eat and things to do in the city during our visit. The room and bathroom were clean and cosy. We would definitely stay with them again and felt completely comfortable in their home. Thanks for making our first night so easy for us!

    Laura2014-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Brad and Becca are so welcoming that you feel like a houseguest, yet you still have privacy. The sitting room was especially lovely, and the world map on the bedroom wall, with markers for their over 200 guests so far, showed their enthusiasm for diverse guests. Their amazing dog Carlos and their new kitten Diego were a bonus for us. Brad and Becca gave excellent recommendations for hiking and breakfast spots. We were airbnb virgins, and we fear they may have set the bar too high for our future stays!

    Ellen Jo2014-09-21T00:00:00Z

  • Small but stylist space with amazing local shops and restaurants all within walking distance! The studio was extremely clean and surprisingly quiet for being above a bar. It is a perfect and comfortable stay for 1-2 people. There is a small dining table for 2, a queen bed, a small kitchen that includes a small toaster oven and a toaster, and a bathroom with a standing shower that is tight in space. A parking permit is available for guests that have a car. Ubering and lyfting was extremely easy from and to this location. Anastasia was so quick to respond and upon meeting her, was also friendly and very kind. She offered great tips for local favorites and that’s exactly what we needed since we are from out of town. Overall, her hospitality was outstanding and I’d recommend staying at her Airbnb!

    Angela2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Location, location, location! The NW 23rd Street neighborhood of Portland is where it is at if you love nice restaurants, bars, and shops in a totally walkable part of town. The studio apartment is spotless and just as described on the Airbnb website. Anastasia’s husband met us at the apartment at the scheduled time and provided us keys and parking pass to park out rental car in the neighborhood. The bed was comfy. The kitchen has a mini-fridge and toaster oven. The shower was clean and beautiful with glass tiles.

    Darryl2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome location, very convenient to public transportation. Anastasia was very accommodating!

    Kathleen2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful – very spacious – bachelor suite, with all the amenities you need, and in the heart of one of Portland’s historic districts! The neighbhourhood was a treat to walk around in — beautiful homes, artisan shops and great restaurants. You’re also a stone’s throw from Blue Star donuts and Salt and Straw icecream parlour (both must eats)! The suite is also within walking distance to downtown, and is only a few minutes walk to transit (street car or bus). Anastasia was a great host – she was there to greet us when we arrived, and was available to answer any questions we had throughout our stay. She had also laid out fresh roses on the table for our arrival! We would definitely recommend and would stay there again!

    William & Kerry2016-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • AMAZING place to stay! The location was absolutely perfect! The cutest streets are right outside the door with hundreds of shops and restaurants nearby. The apartment was clean, guest friendly, and the owners were super sweet and gave us a ton of great recommendations on where to eat and what to do during our stay. Super comfy bed with modern decor. Free WIFI plus a great TV located in front of the bed for great viewing. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone wanting to experience true Portland!

    Jesse2017-06-07T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at the Lovejoy Room for a few days upon arriving in Portland. I'll be returning later for a long-term stay. The unit is beautiful and perfectly appointed-- just as expected. The entryway where the closet is located actually is even larger than expected. Of course, as you know, the area could not be better: shops, restaurants, and coffee shops all steps from your door. Oh, and Anastasia is extremely sweet and helpful. You're in good hands!

    Christina2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We could not have asked for a better host or place to stay. This studio is the perfect size for a single person or couple. It's located in the middle of cool shops, restaurants and public transport. Our host Anastasia was amazing. She was able to answer all of our questions before hand and made check in and out so smooth. When we come back to Portland we will definitely hope to grab this place again.

    Jen2017-02-12T00:00:00Z

This space will make you feel cozy and right at home! A bright and well appointed tiny house located in Northeast Portland. Just steps from some of the best restaurants in all of Portland. The Alberta Arts district is just a few blocks away with cafes, pubs and local shopping. There are unique neighborhood amenities, such as the soaking pool and movie theater at the Kennedy School. For more photos and neighborhood info, visit: @portlandtinyhouse on Instagram.
We put a lot of love into Portland Tiny House. The space includes warm wood flooring, ceramic tiling, modern decor and special vintage touches. The house has a very comfortable Tuft and Needle queen sized bed, bathroom, kitchenette equipped for cooking light meals and cozy counter seating for two. Coffee, tea, fresh eggs and Portland travel guides provided. Need anything else?...just let us know! (2 guests with a small child may sometimes be accommodated)
Guests are a block away from Portland's most popular and notable restaurants: DOC, Beast, Autentica, Dame, Expatriate, Wilder and Yakuza Lounge. The house is within walking distance to the local New Seasons Market and the Alberta Arts District with shops/restaurants/art galleries and the hugely popular Last Thursday monthly arts festival. You certainly won't want to miss all of the wonderful shops and restaurants up on Alberta Street. There are many popular restaurants that often have a line to get in (yes...they are THAT good!) like Pine State Biscuits, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, The Grilled Cheese Grill and the Bollywood Theater. Lots of vegan dining as well: Vita Cafe, Back to Eden Bakery and the Bye and Bye Pub. So many wonderful options, we usually have a hard time deciding what to pick! Just around the corner: Walk a block up to enjoy hand-crafted morning coffee at Extracto or breakfast at Cup & Saucer. Drop in to take a yoga class at The People's Yoga studio. Hunt for fun vintage finds at Red Fox Vintage. Or you can explore the McMenamins Kennedy School: a historic elementary school re-purposed as a hotel (including a movie theater, soaking pool ($5 for a relaxing soak), restaurants and pubs). There are two parks within walking distance from the tiny house, Alberta Park and Fernhill Park. Peninsula Park is also a quick jaunt from the tiny house and it boasts a beautiful, seasonal rose garden that is often less crowded than the well known International Rose Test Garden in the West hills.
  • The Portland Tiny House is warm and adorable. It was exactly what we needed for our stay in PDX. The space was functional and beautiful. The surrounding neighborhood and proximity to the airport was key. We appreciate the subtle yet stand-out decor touches as well as such useful things as the offer of your own chickens' bounty (how cute!) Thanks, Duston and Genevieve! We would love to stay next time we are in Portland! (P.S. The comfiest bed EVER!!)

    Phoebe2016-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • Oh my gosh - you have to stay at Duston and Genevieve's Tiny House! So much style and function in every inch and decision. I felt so at home and relaxed. Plus, they're recommendations on local places to hang and eat were on point - I felt like a local and enjoyed such a wonderful weekend. I wholeheartedly recommend this Tiny Home without reservation! Thank you, Duston and Genevieve!

    Meguire2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Genevieve, Duston and Sophie, Thank you for so thoughtfully sharing your tiny house with us. We loved the small touches you've put into your home. It's so apparent that the tiny house is a labor of love. It was the perfect location and near some of the most family friendly restaurants we've been to which definitely made our stay at Portland very enjoyable. The eggs were delicious- you're right it's going to be hard to go back to store bought eggs. Audrey enjoyed the maracas and made her first art work on the etchsketch. Thank you for sharing your lovely home. It was a pleasure meeting you both! We'll definitely keep you folks in mind when we pay another visit to Portland! Thank you! Henry, Shirley and Audrey (11 mos)

  • We had a great time staying at the Portland Tiny House! The house was beautiful and the location was perfect for us! We were even walking distance from Salt & Straw Ice Cream which was awesome! If anything, we wish we had made more time to enjoy the Tiny House property especially the hammock and chickens! We would definitely love to come back and stay again the next time we are in Portland!

    Tara2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED the tiny house! Everything we needed was provided and the hosts were very hands-off, so we had privacy while we were there. The chickens are precious and very quiet. The neighbourhood is really sweet, lovely things close enough to walk to, but not busy enough to be noisy. Downtown and other neighbourhoods were a quick uber drive away. Portland was wonderful and this was a great place to stay!

Newly constructed in 2016, our private detached garden studio sits in the heart of a quiet residential neighborhood and is a short stroll to top restaurants, food carts, and shopping in hip SE Portland. The space is compact -- about 240sf -- but cozy, bright and a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Portland!
Our cozy studio includes a comfy queen bed, vaulted ceilings, full bathroom, kitchenette, and small sitting area. It's fully detached from the main house, so offers complete privacy. Skylights, french doors, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows provide an abundance of natural light, even on a grey, drizzly Portland day, as well as views of the west hills. It's small --about 240sf-- but the space is well utilized with many amenities such as wireless Bluetooth speaker, Portland maps and guides, and comfy pillows and blankets to make it feel like home. The space is best suited for guests seeking a cozy place to relax and recharge after a day of exploring Portland; If you're needing more of a "hangout spot," this may not be the best fit. The studio has a full bathroom with shower (no tub). The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, sink, instant hot water, coffee maker, coffee press, microwave and everything you need for reheating leftovers from the many restaurants and food carts nearby. Complementary tea and coffee are provided along with a long list of restaurant recommendations. There’s a growler available for filling, which you can do at The Imperial Bottle Shop on Division Street and at many local breweries and grocery stores nearby.
We love living in the heart of the Richmond neighborhood! Nestled on a quiet, residential street, we're a short stroll (about 1/3mi) to hip and eclectic restaurant and retail districts of SE Portland. A 4-block walk brings you to a bus stop that can get you most anywhere else in town. A short walk from the studio brings you to food, shopping and entertainment (to name a few of our favorites): PokPok, Salt & Straw, Ava Gene's, Bollywood Theater; Food Cart pods, Little T Bakery, St Honore; A myriad of boutiques, shops and independent movie theaters on Hawthorne, Clinton and Division streets. You'll likely meet some friendly neighborhood cats during your stay, but due to severe allergies, our studio is pet- and allergen-free. You may also spot our eyepatch-wearing, kung fu-performing neighbor (and good friend) practicing in the street, sometimes alongside his 4yo daughter. He’s a world-renowned martial artist and teacher, is super friendly and adds some true Portland character to our otherwise sleepy neighborhood.
  • Melissa's studio is *exactly* as described and pictured--even better, actually! Pictures can't do it justice whatsoever. It's beautifully bright, sunny (even on overcast days) and artfully decorated. Every detail seems well thought out and considered, and we truly enjoyed the chocolate, seltzer, and all the countless other personal touches that she left for us. What a way to start a vacation! We relied heavily on the list of Melissa's suggestions, and I'm so happy we did! (MUST try: Pok Pok & Cafe Broder!) The location was perfection--tucked away and private, yet within walking distance of so many restaurants and shops. Everything was amazing. We cannot wait to come back. Thank you again, Melissa!!

  • Great hospitality and easy to access to city center and a theater

    Akira2018-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa's space is perfect! It was COMPLETELY spotless, in an awesome and walkable location, and Melissa was so kind and thoughtful and very communicative and hospitable! Highly highly recommend staying (Website hidden by Airbnb) in the middle of the city but feels a little secluded because of how it's set up. We'll definitely be back!

    Shannon2018-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We throughly enjoyed our time at this Airbnb. It was the perfect size and a good value. The space is stylish, well taken care of and just plain cute. The high ceilings make it that much roomier for those on the taller side. I wish we would’ve had more time and/or nicer weather to enjoy the patio. The host is highly attentive and communicative although no reasons arose for us to reach out besides check in and out. Would stay again!!

    Liz2018-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa and Brian were great hosts and the studio is lovely. The decor is bright and cheerful, and is beautifully accommodated with everything one could think of. The home is in a charming area of the city within walking distance to great dining and entertainment.

  • This was our first experience using Airbnb stay and it was everything we imagined and so much more. Melissa's place was filled with personal touches that automatically made us felt welcomed. She was very accommodating with the check-in and check-out times. Her place was beautifully decorated. If you're looking for a quiet weekend getaway in Portland, this is definitely the place to be!

    Barbara2016-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Melissa’s place was an absolute dream to stay in. Cute, quaint, and perfectly and intentionally detailed — it was the ideal place for me and my wife’s honeymoon in the PNW. It’s cozy and romantic and complete with everything you could ever need! Melissa was also the most attentive and thoughtful host. She was always accessible, but gave privacy as well. We loved our stay in Portland and would definitely recommend her place!

  • Very nice private unit in great Portland neighborhood. Space was accurately described, nice touches like cold drinks in frig, welcome sign and flower, chocolate, coffee with instant hot water for french press or drip, or choice of coffee machine. Very clean, friendly owners.

Seen on the TV show "Tiny House Nation", CNN, Food & Wine Magazine, and the NY Post, the 350 sq ft Rustic Modern Tiny House was designed and built by us, your friendly AirBNB hosts. Guests call it "completely charming" and "the perfect urban getaway". Welcome! M+J
For years we've been daydreaming about building a little house one day. Then we finally made it happen - using our own two hands (DIY! The Portland way!) and with the help of some great friends. We had a vision in mind, but a lot of the details came together as we built, based on what materials we had available to us. Downstairs is the kitchen, living room with convertible couch, and bathroom with tiny clawfoot tub. Access the upstairs via STAIRS (not a ladder), where you'll find our loft bedroom with comfortable queen sized bed. Sustainable design is important to us, and the house is constructed and furnished from an eclectic array of reclaimed materials - squirreled away over the years, and now creatively reused and repurposed. See photo captions for a detailed walkthrough of the house. A PARTIAL SNAPSHOT • The trim and shelves are reclaimed from an old shed that used to be on the property. • Teak hardwood flooring, cedar shake siding - salvaged from high-end construction jobs. • The wood-clad windows salvaged from a horse farm in the Oregon countryside. • The kitchenette stove/refrigerator sourced from the Hood River History Museum. Instagram: @rusticmoderntiny
We love our walk/bike friendly N. Williams Ave neighborhood - it's been getting a lot of media attention as one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. You are one block from the main corridor, bustling with award-winning restaurants, bars, coffee shops, wine bars, bakeries, yoga studios, and indie boutiques - it seems there's something new every week. Sunset Magazine loves its “low-key urban vibe", past guests call our neighborhood "awesome", "amazing" and "full of things to do". Our street has even made an appearance or two on the TV show Portlandia.
  • Although rainy and cold outside, the Rustic Modern Tiny House was blessing of coziness and comfort. Amazing how much of a home feel such a tiny house can manage. Artistic touches of found wood, old metal pieces, doorknobs and the like made the home a treat. The kitchen is fully equipped with all one needs for meals around the clock. On another note, one of Portland's most up and coming streets is just a block away, with fabulous restaurants, bars, bakeries and a superb New Seasons food market. Highly recommend this place. Michael was responsive in answering any needs.

  • My fiancé and I had such a great time staying in this awesome little spot! It was private, tidy and unique. Michael and Jenna were wonderful hosts, very quick to respond and made us feel right at home.

  • What an adorable place. So comfy and it didn't feel too small at all. I'm interested in building my own tiny house so I wanted to experience staying in one "up close and personal." Now, I'm certain I want my own :-) Not only a lovely and unique tiny house, but a great location as well. It was a wonderful experience in every way! Highly recommended!

    Danlee2015-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Jenna made us feel most welcome. Their place was adorable, cozy and clean. And there was coffee already there for us! It was just as described in their posting. Their instructions/directions were perfect and when we called about using their bikes, they got right back to us. The neighborhood is fantastic with tons of interesting shops and restaurants all within walking or biking distance. Everything about staying here was easy. We would definitely come back.

    Vanessa2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our time in the Rustic Modern Tiny House. It's in a pretty, quiet neighborhood within an easy walk to restaurants and a great grocery store. It was fun staying in such a tiny and efficient house! The stairs are steeper than I expected, so I let my son take the loft and I slept on the sofa bed in the living room. Both beds were very comfortable. Guests may want to bring slippers for indoor wear, so you can keep your feet warm while respecting the "no shoes" policy.

    Michael2014-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Michael and Jenny's tiny house in Portland is absolutely adorable! It's in a great location and has all the amenities and warmth of a normal sized home. My stay was fantastic.

    Kelsey2015-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at The Rustic Modern Tiny House was a great experience, and I would absolutely stay here again! As previously stated in other reviews, it's well within walking distance to the Mississippi and Alberta Arts districts, and if you really wanted to, you could walk all the way to the Pearl district across the Broadway bridge. (Which we did. In the rain.) The house was clean, well furnished and cozy. It was perfect for our 5 day stay. The wi-fi was reliable, as well as the hot water - what else do you really need in a rental?? Michael and Jenny were also great. They communicated just the right amount before our reservation, and I'm sure if we had run into any issues, they would have been readily responsive. Fortunately, there were no issues at all. Highly recommend staying here if you ever have the chance!

    Maysee2015-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • I had a lovely stay at the tiny house. The location was perfect, a short walk to the office and a block away a street full of restaurants, bars, and coffee, but still quiet and private. The house had everything I needed. There's no extra space, but it's a comfortable spot nonetheless. The hosts responded to questions quickly with friendly notes.

Cute little Tiny House! It used to be our boys' fort when they were young, now it is a comfortable little retreat for adventurers exploring Portland!
Cute little back yard "granny flat" cottage located near Mt Tabor park in very desirable neighborhood! The cottage is "Portland Style" construction with excellent insulation (R30), new windows, etc.. Great host, free internet, parking, furnished living space that is quite private.. The cottage contains an upstairs bedroom & sitting area. Note: There are steep stairs, so please take that into account ~ if you have joint pain, etc. this might not be the best choice of places to stay... The QUEEN size mattress is new and comfortable. Downstairs there is a small kitchen with stove, microwave and under the counter fridge. Also downstairs is a full bath with ceramic tile shower. Coffee maker and freshly ground coffee provided in the cottage as well as complimentary muffins. At times a made to order hot breakfast is available, message me to see if it will be available during your stay :-D. Guests are welcome to use washer/dryer in main house. Guests have use of the back yard with fruit trees and some berries when in season. Also the cottage is within walking distance of Division street shops, Pizzicato pizza, the 52nd & Foster street Food Carts and much more. The # 4 bus is just a block and a half away, which can take passengers west directly downtown. The TRI-MET app or website is easy to use & can help you get you anywhere from the airport, to downtown, to Powells Books, The Chinese Garden, and so on.
South Tabor Neighborhood is a quiet eclectic little neighborhood with many avid gardners, friendly neighbors, and gobs of dog lovers. We have community get-togethers, work parties, and holiday celebrations! If you are used to neighborhoods where no one knows each other or even speaks to each other this is definitely NOT the neighborhood for you :-D
  • We've used Airbnb all over the world and this one takes the cake! We LOVED our host, the cottage was cozy, clean and just the right size and breakfast was phenomenal. I would definitely recommended breakfast in the main house with Lisa if you get a chance. Not only is she a great cook, but has wonderful advice about the area and is an all around fabulous person. Great location, close to good restaurants and bars. We loved our visit to Portland and we hope to come back again soon!

    Alisha2013-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was a great host, always ready to inform and helps us in our vacation. The meals generously made for us where delicious and a great way to start the day. The cottage itself was also very comfortable. Although small you still are very comfortable. And it is close to many good restaurants and shoppes.

    Max2014-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described! Plenty of privacy in a different neighborhood of Portland! Amazing breakfast!

    Jonathon2015-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED our stay! THE BEST BREAKFAST !! Really outstanding and such a treat!! Easy check-in /check-out, privacy, cute backyard and neighborhood. Comfy bed! We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

    Cristyn And Kurt2016-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at South Tabor Cottage. It was close to everything and parking was always a available right in front of house. Lisa's homemade breakfasts were so yummy and filling too. We'd definitely stay here again if we come back to Portland! Oh, and the bed was very comfortable and cozy.

    Lindsay2015-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay in the South Tabor Cottage. Lisa is a wonderful host, was quick in her communication and thought of all the details. On the day we arrived, we were greeted by the smell of cookies, and, as it was over 90 degrees, and she made sure to have the air on. Cottage had lots of amenities and breakfast was really good!

    Doris2013-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the South Tabor Cottage was great! It's in a nice little neighborhood just a few minutes away from some great bars and restaurants (including pok pok!). It's nice and clean and cozy. And homemade breakfast to our front door!? It was amazing! Thank you Lisa! Hopefully we will be back for another stay the next time we're in Portland!

    Stephen2013-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa is a good host. She was prompt in responding to my questions, and was very flexible with my uncertain and late check-in. The place was very clean and comfortable, and was perfect for me. It is a nice, cozy spot in a very nice part of Portland, close to good cafes and restaurants. The cottage is in a good neighborhood, and was quiet. I highly recommend Lisa's cottage! Mark

  • Funky Pad was awesome! My wife and I had a great time exploring Portland for a couple days and Paul's spot provided a perfect central location for our adventures. Paul was a super welcoming and friendly host and had awesome knowledge and recommendations on restaurants / bars / attractions / etc. (many of which we hit up and enjoyed). The Funky Pad is comfortable and well appointed with all you could ask for. Will not hesitate to book here again when we return to PDX! Thanks again, Paul! Gary & Nicole

    Gary2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was truly a gracious and attentive host. He communicated with us for anything we needed. The house was adorable and was very easily accessible to public transportation.

    Briana2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was an incredible host whose suite has every single thing you might need imaginable. The beds were incredibly comfortable and you just felt like you were in your own home during the visit. The neighborhood is incredibly nice with neighborhoods close by and the city center just a small trip on public transit away or minutes long Uber ride. I'll be back again when I'm in Portland.

    Victor2015-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable well appointed place in a nice neighborhood. Only had 1 night in Portland but would definitely be a good choice for a longer stay as everything you need is provided.

    DeeAnne2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Paul was welcoming and informative. His pad is perfectly appointed, adorable, private and light. The location is fantastic- across the street from a big lovely park and walking distance to restaurants and shops. It's a 5 minute drive to Alberta Art district. We will stay here whenever We come to Portland.

    Gina2016-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • I was having car trouble and arrived a bit later than I first intended, however, Paul was very flexible and worked around my schedule. Upon arrival, he helped me with my luggage and walked me through the pad and made sure I had everything I needed before he left me to unwind and settle in. The pad itself was ridiculously CUTE! It was very tidy and had everything I needed! Paul also came in daily (when I was not home) to refill the water, wash the dishes and dump the trash. The place was always pristine clean when I returned. Felt like I was getting a mini room service. (Thanks a bunch, Paul!) I had a dog with me and was worried that she might bark a bit while I am out, but Paul was very understanding and didn't mind the noise at all. Moreover, his location is very dog friendly, theres an off-leash dog park right across the street, which I frequent during my visit. However, there are no gates, so if your dog is an escape artist, I'd keep them on a leash. Overall I LOVED this place and wished I stayed longer than I did. Paul was very attentive and whenever I needed something. Highly recommend this funky pad and thank you for being an awesome host, Paul!

    Amanda H2015-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Paul's Funky Pad! It was extremely easy to coordinate the details of our stay with him and he provided us with some amazing recommendations for our first trip to Portland! Thanks, Paul!

    Trang2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is by far one of the best air bnb's we have stayed at throughout our travels. It's like your own personal & private apartment, with a cute reading area, breakfast bar and bathroom. The personal touches do not go un-noticed! The house is in a beautiful tree lined street, and a very safe area. It's a short walk to public transport to get into the centre of town. Unfortunately we only stayed one night, so we didn't get to experience as much as we would have liked (perhaps an incentive to stay here again!). Both Paul and Carolyn were fantastic hosts. Communication was fast and consistent from the beginning. We felt very welcome, and it was great to chat about our travels with them. Paul gave us a fantastic cafe recommendation (yum!). All we can say is a big thank you to the both of them! :)

Nestled in the private backyard of our family home, a neighborhood hub. The round, rustic, romantic MudHut hides in a secret garden overlooking the St. Johns bridge and sparkling river, near Cathedral Park, Forest Park, downtown St. Johns, canoe and hiking trails... Firepit, permaculture gardens, loaner bikes, community life, view!
Our hut was handbuilt by family, friends, and community with great love and serves as a guesthouse, homeschool hut, sauna and sanctuary. Wood-heated and candle-lit, it's a tranquil, rustic sleeping space. I recommend staying two nights for an immersive experience in the relaxing atmosphere.
We're in St. Johns, Portland's northern-most neighborhood and a small town of its own with a strong community identity here. Many families here trace their roots back to James John, the pioneer founder of St. Johns who is memorialized all over the neighborhood. Downtown St. Johns is a few blocks away, with plenty of restaurants (Thai, vegan, soulfood, chinese, pub grub, pizza, deli, breakfast, coffee & gelato), an old movie theater and shopping (lots of vintage). Cathedral Park, three blocks away, is gorgeous and photogenic with access to the Willamette River and the awesome overhead presence of the gothic St. Johns Bridge that you can see from the hut. We're also close to a lot of natural areas for urban hiking and paddling. Forest Park, full of trails and old growth forest, is right across the bridge. Just north of here is Kelley Point Park, the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers; Smith and Bybee Lakes, a wetlands for birding and paddling; and Sauvie Island, with beaches, farms, nurseries, hiking, fishing, & birding. We're on the Pacific migratory fly-way, so lots of raptor action around here. Bald eagles, peregrine falcons and hawks swoop by regularly.
  • My time at the mud hut was exactly what I needed and even better than I had envisioned. Ivy and her family are very friendly and accommodating. I loved getting to sit and watch her gather herbs and greens from her garden to make breakfast one of the mornings - everything was fresh and so flavorful. She really could make a living being a chef! Being away from my three cats was hard, so it was nice to have a kitty to pet a bit to remind me of them.

    Melissa2014-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun little place to stay! Ivy was super pleasant and very thoughtful. She has so much love built into her property. I felt very clear about what we were renting and was not disappointed at all. While this place is not for everyone, it is so much better than staying at some cheap hotel with no character. Just a slice of our amazing North West adventure! If you have the chance, camp fire is a must at this spot!

    Bethany2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy was very welcoming and kind. The mud hut and the surrounding land are a sweet sanctuary to relax/ recharge in. A truly unique and special place where you can feel the love that went into creating it. I enjoyed exploring the food in the area and Cathedral Park, and it was also very easy to get in and out of the neighborhood to see more parts of Portland. The photos and description are accurate and exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort!

    Kathleen2015-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy is so cool, the whole family are nice. Will definitely stay at her place again when I come to Portland next time!

    Jason2015-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ivy was a wonderful host! The mud hut was so cute, cozy, and comfy during a wide range of temperatures. We loved hanging out with the chickens in the raspberry and mint patch, and making coffee each morning in the outdoor kitchen area. Saint Johns is a very walkable neighborhood with great places to eat, awesome parks, and super friendly people. The bathroom is a little dingy, which was our only drawback, but all in all we had a wonderful week.

    Ali2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as advertised only the view is even more surreal. We felt very welcomed and comfortable and immediately felt like we could enjoy their space as a friend, rather than a guest. They had coffee/tea waiting in the morning and clean towels in the bathroom for our use. I would absolutely recommend this interesting and unique spot, as it's also a way to see another awesome neighborhood of Portland called St.John.

    Laleh2014-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • She wasn't able to be there to greet me in person, but had sent me an email in advance to say that she might not be there, and to explain the workings of things, so it was all very clear to me. The only down side was that there wasn't a key available to lock up the Hut after I'd load all of my things inside, as I had a very expensive bicycle that I was concerned about. Fortunately, everything worked out well and she explained to me in an email after the fact that a previous tenant had inadvertently left with the key!

    Jim2014-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at the mud hut! It was a very cozy, rustic place nestled in a beautiful garden. Ivy was a fabulous host. Her family was very nice and we loved the neighborhood.

  • Roland was very helpful and friendly. I booked the room very last minute - the night before the day of check in, but Roland made sure I could stay and be comfortable. It is a unique loft with a nice little porch. The neighborhood is lovely too - lots of great restaurants a few blocks away. It is also well connected with public transport, enabling you to conveniently go anywhere in Portland.

    Pepe2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little loft! Has basically all you would need for a nice comfortable stay! I think my favorite part was the location tho! Good atmosphere around the neighborhood! I would highly recommend!

    Nicholas2018-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was my first Portland and using Airbnb. I was kinda nervous how it goes... When I met R Roland, my nervousness was gone! He is a wonderful and kind person. He told me a lot of local histories. I really appreciate it and enjoyed conversing with him! His place is amazingly nice and clean even thought it is very historical place!! I had a great time there (nice and safe neighbourhood). Also, it's easy to get a lot of neat places by walk. It's become a long review... :) I highly recommend to stay Mr.Roland's place!!! Thank you.

    Yumi2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Mr. Roland was very open with his home and anything I needed (like Ranch Dressing for my chicken strips)! My faves are the deck/view and the jacuzzi tub. Definitely enjoyed that!

    Clayton2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • Home is beautiful. Roland was very kind and often checking in if everything was fine. I highly recommend

    Daniel2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the Loft was great! Although i did not get a chance to meet Roland (due to conflicting schedules), he was always available and made the arrival/leave extremely pain free. The loft itself was very clean, cozy, and quiet. The location was better then expected. It's only a short walk to a Division street, which is filled with restaurants, shops, and bus stops. The neighborhood was also great. I felt very safe and getting around was not one bit confusing. Thanks for everything Roland!

    Miguel2016-08-14T00:00:00Z

  • The Piedmont Cottage was absolutely beautiful and a real joy to visit. The interior is chic, well-crafted and executed with such class and warmth. It's obvious that Topher took great care to design a little home away from home. We felt welcome immediately, not just because the house is cozy and full of amenities (an abundance of fresh, quality linens, several varieties of whole bean and ground coffee, a bottle of wine, organic chocolate, a fully equipped kitchen, bath and body accoutrements, and a comprehensive guide to the home and the area) but also because the family took the time to say hello and make a personal connection. And the outside! The cottage is situated in a private backyard sheltered by bamboo and features a fire pit and a pond with a water feature. Without question, my favorite airbnb we've stayed in. Peaceful, tranquil and perfect. Thanks, McGarry family!

    Leslie2014-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny (yet extremely roomy) home provides all of the amenities of a luxury hotel with all of the charm of a modern cabin. This Airbnb'er will definitely stay at the Piedmont Cottage again!

    Michael2011-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • cute and clean house in the backyard of lovely family. heather really went the extra mile trying to make our stay in portland great. best possible location, short walk from trains/buses. the area itself is peaceful, but by walking just a few sort blocks there are great bars (moloko!) and breakfast places (mississippi records cafe!).

    Peder2013-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Staying in the Piedmont cottage was a great experience. It is set up like a tiny house, but feels roomy on the inside. It is located in a residential area, but we were able to walk to some really great places and reach other with a quick drive. Portland was having a little heat wave while we visited so having the air conditioner was a huge plus. Topher and Heather were great hosts.

    Nick2015-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful, well cared for space and friendly hosts. Great neighbourhood too.

    Millie2012-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at the Piedmont Cottage! Clean, quiet, and everything which might be expected from the description. I recommend staying here.

    Erin2014-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at the cottage, it was comfortable and had everything we needed. There were 3 of us and felt we had enough room for the few days we were there. 2 slept in the loft bed (very comfortable) and 1 on the pull out couch (also comfortable). We were even greeted with a bottle of wine. Would have liked to have met the owners in passing but appreciate that they were so trusting. Thanks Heather and Topher!

  • My girlfriend and I spent five days at H&T's cottage. I don't think we could've asked for a better situation. Heather and Topher thought of everything, things I wouldn't have anticipated. The amenities were gracious and thoughtful. They've done a beautiful job on the Japanese style garden that the cottage is set in. All questions and concerns were answered promptly and effectively. I would recommend this venue to anyone.

Relaxed, spacious + modern basement apartment with private entry. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers, it's a great landing pad to explore Portland. 15 minutes from the airport, and downtown, ample free parking and free wi-fi . We are within walking distance to outstanding restaurants + bars: Breakside Brewery, Woodlawn Coffee, The Firehouse, Tamale Boy, Tough Luck Bar, Dame, Beast, Expatriot, DOC, and many other great restaurants, brewpubs and boutiques.
The apartment is located in our mid-century home on a quiet residential street in the hip Concordia neighborhood. Situated between the exciting Alberta Arts District, Concordia University and the up-and-coming Woodlawn neighborhood, you cannot beat the selection of great restaurants, shops, and parks within walking or biking distance. Whether you just want to chill in front of the wood-burning fireplace, wander the neighborhood, or have a glass of wine in our Adirondack chairs, feel free to relax and make yourself at home. With a full kitchen at your disposal you can make the most out of the local farmer’s markets and excellent grocery stores in the neighborhood too. This space is ideal for business travelers, with wi-fi and a full kitchen. We enjoy meeting all of our guests, but we respect your privacy and space as well. Please feel free to interact with us as much, or as little, as you'd like. We live just a short 10-15 minute drive from Portland International Airport (PDX). We are located about 10-12 minutes from downtown Portland by car. Public transportation is just a few blocks away.
The Concordia neighborhood is unique in its diversity, with long-time residents, young families and college students attending Concordia University. Other great attributes: - Close to downtown, and about 15 minutes from the airport. - Incredible restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping, art galleries, music, and street art are a short walk or bike ride away. - One block from public transportation that drops you downtown before you know it! - Close to our favorite grocery store (New Seasons) with organic food, local products, and an excellent source for gifts or mementos of your stay. - Beautiful Woodlawn, Alberta and Fernhill Parks are within 6 -12 blocks away, or head to Forest Park for great hiking in the middle of the city. - Concordia University is two blocks away, and a great place to stop by to watch a baseball or soccer game in their beautiful open stadium, check out their grounds or wander into the library.
  • Beautiful space in a great location! I will definitely stay there again!

  • Our stay at Melissa's place was great! Beautiful and clean space. We were very close to everything we wanted to do, and she provided great Portland information books and self-made binders of tips of where to eat!

    Jessica2018-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely night at this charming spot! Wonderful neighborhood, very communicative and helpful hosts. The space is very well designed and clean, and comfortable. Melissa even left a local beer and some fresh eggs for us in the fridge. Clearly very thoughtful and kind hosts. Will definitely be back!

Our studio guest house comfortably sleeps two and features a mini kitchen and private bath. Walk through the garden to your private entrance. Curl up by the fire and enjoy one of the art books from our library. Walk to nearby Alberta Arts District.
With two small children at home, we have found little time to paint in the second floor of the studio building at the rear of our property. Come and enjoy this lovely space! It features high ceilings, ample light, a wood stove (with back-up electric heat), views of the surrounding gardens, a large table and a drafting table to spread out and work on, and an art book library. The kitchenette is equipped with a sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and electric kettle. It does not have a cook top or oven or toaster. We provide coffee and tea. The bathroom features a shower stall and an eco-toilet that collects water from hand washing to use on the next flush. With summer temperatures rising, we recently added an AC window unit for our guests comfort. We offer a full bed with a seven inch Ikea spring mattress and a two inch memory-foam topper. Our guests report that the room is surprisingly quiet at night. Please note we do not have a TV; however, our wifi is fast enough to watch movies or shows on your personal device.
I love this place. This is a residential neighborhood with a wide cross section of racial and economic diversity, a lot of the old 'hood funkiness still intact, plus newer hipster creativity and some higher-end business activity. Expect to see a mix of dilapidated buildings and newer or rejuvenated construction. We feel safe at night, however I do advise women to be wary about walking alone at night, particularly if you don't have much street smarts. We are within easy walking distance of Alberta Street Co-op, coffee shops, restaurants, bars and other businesses. The post office, laundromat, Safeway and Walgreens are very close by as well.
  • The Artist's Garden Retreat was a lovely one room studio that had wonderful lighting due to the many windows and skylights. It was great because it was within walking distance of the wedding venue I was in Portland for. It was very clean, and I absolutely loved the wonderful little wood stove. It was well-stocked with wood and started easily. Nell was very friendly and got back to me whenever I had a question with necessary information. I would recommend this place highly.

    Paula2016-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a great space! Nell was very welcoming and helpful. We weren't able to linger, as we were passing through, but we enjoyed the large windows, beautiful wood floors, and the art books. If our travels bring us back to Portland we would definitely return to the artist's retreat.

    Rebecca2016-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing little discovery! Nell saved us and let us book last minute on our road trip through PDX. The place was beautiful and full of great books and good coffee. Everything we needed was provided and it was a lovely and private experience. Would def recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay the night in town. I honestly wanted to stay longer and light a fire in the fireplace and read some books. This place is a gem.

    Hyun Ji2016-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a long drive from Eureka, CA all the way to Portland. What we needed was peace and calm and that's exactly what we got from Nell and her studio. Really nice subtle details in the space like the copper backsplash in the kitchenette, sheepskin rug and the barrister bookcase filled with linens. Also really convenient parking and walking distance from a cool area with boutiques and restaurants.

    Emma2015-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place. Very comfy bed & pillows, which is important to a pregnant woman! ;-)

    Lacy2015-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at this unique studio. It was easy to find in a cute neighborhood and we loved the design and decor inside, especially the wood stove and skylights. Definitely a relaxing place to stay that's close to a lot of neat shops and restaurants on Alberta St.

  • We loved Sari's place! Check-in was simple, the space is perfectly laid out and had everything we needed, and the location was great. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Portland!

  • Without a doubt one of the best Air B and B experiences I have had. Their little cottage at the back of their property is adorable. It has all the things I am looking for when I am away from home. Excellent location, easy to locate and park, quiet, private and clean. Charming decor inside. I instantly felt right at home. The bed is super comfortable and they have included some very special touches that most Air B and B hosts over look. I really appreciate the washer dryer, wonderful shower and the excellent guide to the city that they have in their property. I felt entirely comfortable and safe in their cozy cottage. My one issue was that the Wi-Fi as very slow and Ed and Sari were in communication with me about trying to solve this issue.

    Michelle2017-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This studio apartment was perfect for my friend and I. The neighborhood is quaint and picturesque, within walking distance to both Division and Hawthorne (tons of shopping, eating, and drinking). The apartment boasts full size appliances for cooking in and a washer/dryer which made packing a breeze. It rained our entire trip so we made use of the games, books, wifi and cable provided. It was our private oasis right off the tree lined street. Easy Uber into downtown.

    奕雯2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is great. It's private, yet close to lots of interesting restaurants & a great grocery store. It's tastefully decorated and has everything you could possibly need - washer, dryer, laundry soap, iron & ironing board, a well-stocked kitchen, toiletries, etc. I highly recommend it!

    Lynne2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Nice and clean private dwelling detached from the main residence so that one can come and go as they please. The best feature was the location as it was a walkable distance from many shops and restaurants. Parking was not an issue either.

  • Wisteria is a lovely place to stay when visiting Portland. It is well equipped with modern appliances...has everything you want for cooking when you are not sampling the incredible food prepared in Portland! The bed is very comfortable and the neighborhood treelined and quiet. Public transit and markets are within walking distance as well as a bakery and restaurants.

Join us in one of Portland's hottest neighborhoods. Blocks away from SE Division street (home to Salt and Straw, Ava Gene's and Pok Pok), SE Hawthorne Street (historic hippie district) and Mt. Tabor Park (perfect for hiking and summer picnics).
Enjoy our brand new, charming 750 sq/ft apartment with old growth wooden beams, lots of natural light, and an original kitchen sink that my grandma used for canning her garden fruits. Guests have a private entrance, equipped kitchen, extra large bathroom with tub, queen bed, plush linens, full size pull out couch, storage closet and a 50" TV with cable. We've turned this studio into a mini-oasis and can't wait to share it with you.
Our home is in one of Portland's best & most historic neighborhoods, nestled between two of the city's most active, restaurant and bar filled streets. A family friendly, walkable, beautiful area. Division street sits two blocks south of our home where you can find Portland's most acclaimed & nationally recognized restaurants, such as: Pok Pok, Ava Genes, Woodsman Tavern and Salt and Straw. It's also home to Stumptown Coffee Roaster's very first coffee shop. This street is super chic but laid back, with many cute boutiques and upscale bars. Just two blocks north of our home sits SE Hawthorne Street-- historically known as Portland's "hippie district." Lots of brew pubs, second hand and vintage shops, along with the famed Por Que No Mexican restaurant. And for a killer view of the city and some beautiful nature, just head twelve blocks east, to Mount Tabor Park--a volcano cinder cone! You can hike, picnic, bike, and enjoy summer concerts here.
  • The space was extremely clean, and had everything we would have ever needed. This was the last leg of our trip and khaatim welcomed us when we got there showing us exactly where to go. Danielle has a list of all the places to go to for food/drinks/attractions among other things. We tried most places they recommended and they checked out. Since we had never been to Portland the tips on where to go helped out. The neighborhood the house is in was very nice and it was nice to be able to walk everywhere. Definitely would stay here again upon coming back to Portland from Michigan!

    Ryan2018-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice stay at Danielle's "City Chic" studio in SE Portland. Danielle was very easy to communicate with. The apt is just as pictured and spacious and very clean and new. We appreciated the location as there was lots to do in the area and around Portland. Thanks and we would love to come back again!

    Laurel2016-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle's place is located in an incredible location if your looking to walk to some great restaurants and shopping near by. The place is extremely clean, well designed and functional. Check in was easy and we felt right at home. Would definitely recommend.

  • Great place. Great host. Will try to stay here again when in PDX!

    Stephen2016-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, good location, comfortable space. I would recommend this place, renting a car isn’t the worst idea.

    Ryan2017-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious, clean, and close to restaurants and bars at the same time providing a quiet environment and comfort.

    Marie2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the perfect spot to stay in Portland. The location is amazing - great shops and food close by and anything else is a short drive away. The pad was warm, cozy, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Make sure you check out the "must see" list on the fridge - Danielle's suggestions were on point. Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to get a real PDX experience.

    Kristyn2017-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely perfect. We loved it so much. It was super clean, well decorated, and felt inviting. Danielle posted some amazing recommendations on the fridge, as far as places to eat and things to see. We would highly recommend Nuestra Cocina for dinner and Petite Provence for breakfast. We met Danielle briefly, and she was awesome. The area is very cute and close to downtown. We give this the highest recommendation!

  • All 5 of us loved this place. We were greeted with chocolate, wine and Proseco. Oliver was very helpful and accommodating. It is in a great neighbourhood. As a group of friends we found the lightly frosted glass door on the bathroom a bit awkward. Overall this place is perfect!

    Nathan2016-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience at Oliver's was wonderful. He was so helpful with suggestions of food to eat and good spots to hit up and even with public transportation! We had a comfortable stay and we really enjoyed the apartment. We'll have to stay longer next time too, the apartment is perfect and has lots of things to entertain guests like the wii system and movies and also Netflix and a big bookshelf full of books!!We will definitely be back:)

    Taylor &Mara2014-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Oliver was a helpful and responsive host who welcomed us with wine, snacks, and local food recommendations. The apartment was very spacious and had modern fixtures and laundry machines. No full kitchen, which was fine for us because we were in town for only a few days and wanted to hit up a bunch of Portland eateries. Great location with plenty of parking and a convenient key system. We would definitely stay here again!

    Pei2014-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Oliver's place was spacious and well appointed. It's located in a nice area of the city and offered plenty of room for two people.

    Jay2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This home is located in the perfect spot to see Portland. It is walking distance to many things. The home was clean and very modern. Oliver contacted me with a listing of things to do/see/eat while in Portland. There is also parking in front of the home.

    Jennifer2015-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • My experience with Oliver we so great. He is a very helpful and accommodating host. He provided us with things to grill with last minute and a beautiful place to stay. The space he has created is very welcoming and totally beats a hotel room any day of the week. The neighborhood is right next door to good food and drinks and there are a ton of things to do in just a short walk. I really enjoyed my time.

    Alexander2014-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place has great location and Oliver was great, having drinks and chocolate ready for arrival.

    John2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Oliver's basement apartment is in a great location!! Close to everything. It does have a separate master bedroom with a Prism TV and another TV in the main room with Wii and 2 futons. No kitchen, but there is a small fridge/freezer, a few dishes, cups, glasses, a microwave, a coffee pot, and pot for heating water. Photos are not very current and we experienced some maintenance issues. We paid a higher price since it was a holiday, so that may have contributed to my disappointment. But if priced right, it's not a bad budget option for guests more interested in a good location and less concerned with the accommodations. To be honest this was only my 6th Airbnb stay so I thought maybe this was normal, but I was traveling with someone who has stayed in more Airbnb's and he was disappointed as well. Hopefully the issues will be resolved for future guests!

Our small (8X12) free-standing studio is light-filled, private and tucked away under the trees. With a comfortable queen-sized bed, microwave, mini-fridge electric kettle and table, you will be cozy here! Please note: The Tiny House does not have its own bathroom. Guests use a shared bathroom just inside the back door of our house (our family has a primary bathroom upstairs, but we use the downstairs bath occasionally. We keep it clean and use it minimally when guests are in the tiny house).
Our tiny house is a delightful retreat. While you do share a bathroom in the house, this outdoor studio will offer you great privacy. The tiny house is set up for you to be able to sleep and make coffee/tea and microwavable meals. There is a mini-fridge for your perishable foods, and microwave and electric kettle. There is a table which you can use for dining and also as your desk. Enjoy sipping a cup of locally roasted coffee (beans provided!) while you enjoy the peaceful trees in our 2/3 acre yard. Our backyard also has a large "pump track" that Joel made, as an enthusiastic mountain biker. Feel free to bring your mountain bikes and ride it! The tiny house is very small so we do not store many things in there, but we do have additional amenities available, including: extra pillows and blankets, extra fans and space heaters, hair dryer, curling iron, clothing iron, yoga mat, extra towels, kitchen utensils, tupperware and more. If there is something you need, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate! Please Note: There is no kitchen or plumbing in the tiny house-it is small studio. It works best for guests who plan to eat out or prepare very simple foods with the microwave and mini fridge. We are happy to provide extra plates, silverware, etc. and if you need to wash a dish or two, just let us know and you can pop into our kitchen.
We live in Portland's Lents neighborhood, which is ethnically diverse and not yet gentrified. We are close to some lovely local nature preserves, including Leach Botanical Gardens and Powell Butte. We are also close to freeways, airport, parks and public transit. Please note: We are about 10 miles from downtown Portland and about 3-5 miles from the "hip" neighborhoods in SE Portland that have a lot of walkable attractions. If you have a car it is pretty easy to get around from here, but this is not the ideal neighborhood if you are hoping to walk to Portland's best spots without driving or taking the bus. You can walk to Safeway, Walgreens, and the closest bus stop very easily from here.
  • The tiny house was nice and cozy, and Kate and Joel were really friendly. Would definitely recommend.

    Jennifer2016-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • The tiny house was the perfect space for my boyfriend and I to stay for a few days while we were in Portland. The tiny house is definitely small, but perfectly quaint. We didn't plan on being at the house very often, so the size didn't matter. If you're looking for a budget friendly option Kate and Joel's tiny house will be perfect for your upcoming trip. They even left some very helpful notes behind about the public transportation, and all of their favorite places to check out around the area. I would definitely stay there again! :)

  • Although we were only in Portland for 24 hours, everything was really good. Kate and Joel made it so easy for us to come and go as our schedules permitted. They left a list of wonderful places to eat and visit, several of which we made it to in our short time there! The tiny house was easy to find and pretty close to the airport. It was cozy and comfortable.

    Erin2015-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • I arrived in Portland late, but it was really easy finding my way to the tiny house. The path was well lit, and the room was ready and waiting for me. It's the second time I've stayed here, and it was another great experience.

  • Beautiful back yard, nice owners, close to town, simple stay, has everything you need blow dryer, towels. Really easy to stay. Thank you.

Brand spanking new, beautiful, modern addition built on our ranch house.
Our 425 square foot addition is brand new (finished 2015) - immaculately designed, gorgeous and a perfect place to stay during your time in Portland. It has a pellet stove for delightful ambiance (and heating), it's own entrance, a blow-up air mattress (for a third guest) and a patio. Stay in a place completely Portland, powered by solar panels, built environmentally friendly, sitting on a major bike street and a couple blocks from the MAX light rail.
Our house is within 2 miles of the fantastic north and north east neighborhoods of Williams, Mississippi and Alberta. There are dozens of restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance and I leave a list of our local favorites in the house.
  • Neat-freak girlfriend approved! Above and beyond in every respect. Absolutely loved it and would 100% stay again.

    Duncan2018-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • The Addition very well might be the best of Portland Airbnb. It's clean, private, well decorated, and close to transit- all at a great price. Plus Joseph is a super friendly and accommodating host. I can't recommend it enough!

    Krystal2016-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this neighborhood: rather quiet, picturesque, easy to walk to most anywhere and to mass transit stops. The host was wonderful, and the space exactly what we needed. Perfect for a couple exploring Portland for the first time.

    Jeanine2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • The addition is perfect. I enjoyed exploring the area! Hoping to come back soon! I did not meet Joseph, but the check in process was a breeze and the place had everything labelled and lots of instructions.

    Gaith2018-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Joseph was a great host! The place was clean, there were extras of everything. He had great recommendations for the neighborhood and easy instructions for the apartment. Very happy with my stay.

    Claire2016-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a wonderful place to stay. Great restaurants within walking distance. Super close to a train to bring you into downtown. Safe neighborhood and just a fun place to stay.

    Krista2017-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, private addition with its own private entry. Easy to get downtown with a car. Nice bedroom, bathroom and living space. Would stay ere again.

    E Frank2017-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Addition was awesome. The entire apartment was comfortable and clean. The location was perfect, with a ton of great restaurants and shops within walking distance or a short drive. We walked to the Max station a few different times and caught the train downtown. Joe was very accommodating and helpful with anything we needed. We loved the environmental conscious Addition and enjoyed time on the patio in the evening next to the vegetable garden in the evening. We will stay here again next time we are in Portland!

This private studio is truly one of a kind. Surrounded by natural beauty, this exquisitely-crafted and light-filled space is conveniently located to downtown and desired neighborhoods via car, light-rail, bus or bike. Truly a retreat in the city. City Permit #(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)-HO
This is an entirely private space on a large lush lot in Portland. It is surrounded by tall evergreens and a beautiful garden. It was built with hardwoods and has several skylights which provide both light (during the day) and a view of the sky and stars during the night. There is a small kitchen with a stove top, toaster oven and refrigerator. The tall ceilings, woodwork, and stonework make you feel like you are in a modern cabin situated in nature even though you are just 5 miles from downtown--which can be easily accessed by bus or train. Relax in our hammock, or spend time in the outdoor sauna.
North Tabor is a quiet neighborhood with big lots, wide roads and lots of trees. We are less than a 10 minute drive to downtown Portland and there are some great restaurants, coffee shops and a brewery within walking distance.
  • Jill was an excellent host who made sure the space was prepared for our arrival. The location itself truly is an Urban Retreat, with easy parking and accessibility to nearby amenities. It was a much needed source of relaxation for my wife and I on our honeymoon. Easily among the best AirBnb's we've stayed at.

    Colton2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time at this urban retreat! We loved the loft bed, sauna and secluded treehouse feel even though it was so close to everything.

    Megan2017-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and relaxing place to stay. We had everything we needed and the location was a great jumping off point for us to explore the city. The sauna was a wonderful amenity. Will definitely book again when are back in the area.

    Reannon2018-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jills place is fantastic. The design is ingenious - minimalist and yet you miss nothing. The couch is so comfortable I found myself luxuriously napping in the afternoons. The cabin is spotlessly clean. The loft bedroom is totally fun. The sauna is a decadence I quite enjoyed. If the cabin had a small washer/dryer I would plan on booking for longer stays.

    Marisa2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Jill's Urban Retreat was perfect for my wife and me. The studio guest house was very cozy. It had a rustic cabin feel, as it was surrounded by trees and plant life. The house was very clean. The location, relative to the Portland sites, was great. The drive time to most of the areas we wanted to visit was quick and easy to get to. We didn't get chance to engage with Jill, as we were out and about, but did get a friendly smile and a wave when we arrived. Having said that, we felt like we had a lot of privacy. And it almost felt like we were staying in our own home. For our very first AirB&B experience, it was perfect.

    Derrick2016-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • A great spot that's convenient--by car at least--but feels apart. Cool details--sauna, loft bed. And Jill was quick to respond and helpful.

    Julia2016-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay

    Rob2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at the Urban Retreat and it was so relaxing, comfortable, and cozy! We needed to get away from hectic work schedules in Los Angeles and it provided everything we needed--great space surrounded by beautiful trees--we really felt like we were far from any city! But when you walk out of driveway--you are in a great neighborhood walking distance to many great cafes! There is so much natural light--it feels like a little cabin in the woods! The hosts provided everything we needed and were very responsive if we had questions. We also took Ubers out to explore the city which was convenient. We are planning to go back and stay at the Urban Retreat again!

  • Great place to stay, absolutely would stay again

    Marlene2016-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi and Marenda's place is beautifully designed and comfortable, with thoughtful personal touches to help make it your home away from home. I also enjoyed exploring the St Johns & University Park neighborhoods on foot. Last but not least, Heidi and Marenda were very responsive whenever I had questions, which I really appreciated.

    Angie2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This spot could not have been more perfect! The loft is absolutely gorgeous, so clean, and very comfortable. Heidi and Marenda were welcoming and responsive and have lovely dogs! They were also sweet enough to leave us some yogurts and all the fixings for coffee. I enjoyed having coffee on the little deck in the morning and relaxing in this space. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, but there is easy public transportation to other parts of the city and a few great coffee shops/bars nearby.

    Abigail2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Heidi and Marendas loft is amazing! It was so cute and cozy, perfect for a weekend in. We had everything that we needed right there in the loft. The location is great because you a pretty close to the restaurant/shopping places in Portland, but far enough that the whole weekend was very quiet and peaceful. They have dogs on the property which concerned me a little (not being a dog person :)) but they were extremely well behaved and quiet. I only saw them through the doors a few times and never heard a peep (or a bark)!

    Timory2015-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This loft is so cozy! The amenities were great. The loft was fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc.

    Brooklyn2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This loft was everything we could have hoped for and more! It was adorable, super clean, and near everything! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Heidi and Marenda were very helpful!

    Maggie2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, quiet, restful! We loved our stay at Heidi and Marenda's loft. The neighborhood was so nice and the setting was perfect. We will be back!

    Tara & Douglas2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place. Very beautifully designed, fully stocked, not cluttered, very comfortable, and everything feels very new and modern but cozy at the same time. There are even memory foam pillows! This loft was designed for guests and they have books with recommendations for tourists. Absolutely loved it, would highly recommend.

Magic Barn, circa 1936, former sculpture studio restored by community artists with old growth barn wood, up-cycled furnishings, kitchen, claw foot bath, baby amenities, with a sculpture garden. Centrally located in the heart of a charming restaurant and boutique district; 3 blocks to both SE Hawthorne and Division St. 15 minutes to both the airport and downtown, there are 4 bus stops and rental bikes within 3 blocks, and ample street parking on our block. Natural cleaning products only.
Built with Love! Cannabis is legal in Oregon. You are welcome to responsibly smoke tobacco and cannabis outside only. There are many dispensaries within walking distance. We are permitted by the city of Portland to host ten guests total at a time at the Magic Barn and The Magic House which are adjacent. If you are a group of more than two, please send us an inquiry to see if we can accommodate your group. Family amenities are available upon request: portable crib, baby bath, high chair, etc. From 2000 to 2015 the Magic Barn was Todji's sculpture studio. Most of the sculptures in the sculpture garden were designed right here and are exhibited for everyone to experience. When Todji first moved into the main house as a renter, the Magic Barn was just an empty crooked shed with no electricity, water or heat and it was filled with trash. Todji purchased the old neglected rental in 2004 when self-employed artists could get a loan. After fifteen years of restoring the main house, while building a career as a sculptor, Todji and Gisele decided to convert the sculpture studio into a "Magic Barn" to host travelers and guests such as yourself! During the summer of 2015 Todji designed and built the Magic Barn with the talented carpenters and fine art painters Theo Holdt and TJ Ravenwolf. The interior wood siding are salvaged old growth barn planks, and the ceiling is made of the original 1936 rafters and sheathing. TJ’s painting is hanging above the couch. TJ is native American from the Alaskan tribes of Koyukon Athabaskan and Muscogee Creek. TJ collected all of the natural pigments in the painting from all around Oregon in prayer, and his prayer in painting now graces the Magic Barn. Todji and Gisele have taken on the profession of being Airbnb "Artist Inn Keepers" to help support the cultivation of their artistic practices, and to share their creative work with you. Todji and Gisele produce public art bronze sculpture monuments for US cities which you may already have seen, or that you may see one day, please feel free to take a postcard home and visit their sculpture website.
The Magic Barn is centrally located in one of the most charming and hip neighborhoods in Portland. With the center of both SE Hawthorne and SE Division St within 3 blocks, there is an abundance of restaurants, boutique browsing, grocery stores, neighborhood strolling, and park hiking options within walking distance. See a movie, or just step in to witness the beautiful and iconic McMenamin's Bagdad theater, accompanied by an incredible restaurant/bar/pool hall in the back called the "Back Stage Bar", at SE 37th and Hawthorne. It will give you a feel for classic Portland! We are minutes from Mt Tabor park which has a lovely forest with walking trails sitting upon a dormant volcano, and we are 45 minutes to the spectacular 600 foot tall Multnomah waterfall in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge scenic area. Division is the new up and coming Southeast neighborhood. With lots of modern architecture, new restaurants and shops you will get a feel for the freshest vibe Portland has to offer. Here is a list to get you started: Restaurants: (The options are endless but here are a few popular favorites!) Serving Food Late - Sapphire Hotel at 50th and Hawthorne, Romantic and sexy atmosphere- great for late night drinks and gourmet bar food. Stumptown Coffee Roasters- 45th and Division, Classic Great Portland Coffee Trinket- One block away on Lincoln and 39th, great for Brunch with their locally sourced eggs!) Harlow- 36th and Hawthorne, Hip and Healthy, great for lunch, or fresh veggie juice. Por Que No- 46th and Hawthorne, Wildly popular Mexican with a great playful decor. (Don’t be intimidated by the line, you order at the counter, and then get a seat and your order will be out in no time) Pok Pok- 32nd and Division, There are literally 11 Thai restaurants in walking distance, but Pok Pok is the best. Began as a food cart, but grew into a Restaurant Empire. Worth the wait. Bollywood Theater- 30th and Division, Indian food small plates. Also along line but worth it! Salt and Straw- 33rd and Division, Food Networks top five ice creams! Super Popular! Lauretta Jeans- 34th and Division, Breathtaking Pies! Tidbit Food Cart Pod, 28th and Division, Fabulous food cart selection, lots of seating, including a beer garden and vintage clothing bus. A truly Portland experience. Hiking: The website of "Friends of the Columbia Gorge" has detailed information about many hikes in the scenic and nearby Columbia River Gorge. It is a 45 minute drive from here to enter the gorge. Below are the names of hikes that we love and recommend. Check the website to find a hike with a distance and fitness level that suits you. For those who are visiting the gorge for the first time, I recommend visiting the most spectacular, and also the most touristicated, 600 foot Multnomah Falls. For those who want a challenging half day hike you can begin at Multnomah Falls and hike a loop called the Franklin Ridge Loop. Multnomah Falls /Franklin Ridge Loop Eagle Creek Angels Rest Bridal Veil Falls Triple Falls Wahkeena Falls Groceries, Pharmacy and Shopping: New Seasons- Local Health Food Store (40th and Hawthorne) Fred Meyers- Local Department/Grocery store (Cesar Chavez and Hawthorne) Rite Aid Pharmacy- Drugstore/pharmacy (Cesar Chavez and Division) Powell’s Books- A smaller version of Portland’s famous Bookstore (37th and Hawthorne) Gold Door- Wonderful Imports from around the world (37th and Hawthorne) Enjoy!
  • Great stay for a few days in the magic barn. Southeast portland is a great spot and full of culture. The magic barn is right smak between the traditional of hawthorne and the modernity of division. The small home itself is full of character and great love from the owners and can be seen from all the intricate touches.

From all the little touches and the beautiful plants : those beautiful doors leading to the bathroom featuring a claw foot tub. And the location is wonderful. Love love <3

  • An amazing atmosphere and excellent location! Very relaxing and clearly maintained with love.

  • It was absolutely amazing. We had planned this stop way in advance; however, despite this we ran into events that diverted us from arriving for both nights of stay. Despite this, the host were very accommodating allow us to check in whenever so we could enjoy the house to its fullest. It gave us an entirely new appreciation for tiny house living.

  • Thank you Todji and Gisele for hosting us at your beautiful and charming magic barn. It was the perfect place to call home while we visited Portland. The location was fabulous-- even thought we did use our rental car to go across town a few times, there is so much within walking distance. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!

This bright studio in the heart of Portland's historic Irvington neighborhood is not to be missed. Tree lined streets with big beautiful homes nestled in the heart of North East Portland. Comes with a full kitchen, a private bathroom, Wifi, cable tv, and a platform Full Bed with access to a hot tub in the back yard! Plus! Plenty of free street parking in front of our home if you have rented a car. A home for every travelers needs.
Arts-and-crafts architecture, handmade redwood tables, and a minimal but comfortable style give this bright studio a true Portland feeling. We always keep the kitchen and the bathroom stocked with the essentials. There is a table with high chairs in the kitchen, perfect for eating a home cooked meal. The Full bed lies under a North facing window, letting in lots of light throughout the day. The apartment is on the first floor of a large 1910 home, which was converted to an eight-plex in the 1940s to adapt to the demands of WWII. I have lived in Irvington for 14 years and Portland for 25, and this house is one of the most unique that I’ve seen. After a long day out on the town, you’ll come home to an always ready hot tub in the backyard, a plush full bed, a big TV, and blazingly fast Wi-Fi.
  • Great location, quiet neighborhood, charming unit and very responsive host. Both thumbs up!

  • Fabulous location. I felt safe, double locks. Good parking on street. Clean studio but did not like foul smell emitting from pillows. Two coffee pots to choose from with filters and coffee. Fridge, microwave, cable tv, fan, man type of hygiene products, stove, hot tub, cooking and dining utensils, adequate towels and washcloths.

  • Great location and cute place!

    Saraplisskin2017-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Jasons! He was great with our last minute request as we couldn't find a reasonable hotel for our stay. The only thing I could critique is the sharing of the hot tub with another unit, made it difficult to work around the other couple at night. Over all it was a great place, great location, and fully stocked private studio with everything we needed.

    Lexi2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place, great neighborhood, very convenient access to transit!

    Peter2017-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Host was accommodating and let us leave luggage near the unit for an early checkin. The weekend was a little chilly and the apartment didn't have the central heater turned on yet, but the host found us a portable heater which worked well. Having the bikes to rent was great for exploring Portland.

    Mike2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a perfect little home just the right distance from the city. Loved it and would stay there again.

  • We had a great time at Jason's place! We brought 2 little dogs and it was easy to walk them around the beautiful neighborhood. There was plenty of parking and it was convenient to restaurants bars coffee shops etc. There was a vase of beatiful flowers for our arrival and the wifi codes were readily available. We recommend it!

Our home is beautifully situated across from a quiet park. We are located just a couple blocks walk to restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bus stops on trendy Hawthorne and Division streets.
Our one bedroom, 500 square-foot basement apartment is lovingly decorated in the Northwest Style with touches of Scandinavia. The apartment has separate entrance for your privacy. The bedroom has a queen bed with cozy, fluffy featherbed comforters. The living room has a sofa that converts to double bed with bedding provided. We also have a queen futon available for parties over 4 people. It’s a bit tight for 6 people, but it is possible! We have a little kitchenette with sink, refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker with complimentary coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower combo with all the essentials provided. We have a television that picks up a few stations, but we do not have cable. Our location is ideal for foodies who want to walk to popular restaurants on SE Hawthorne and SE Division streets. We are directly across the street from a park. The Hawthorne bus (#14) is just 1.5 blocks away and will get you downtown within 10 minutes. We also are walking distance to grocery stores, movie theaters, shops, breweries and pubs. Our neighborhood is quiet at night, so we ask that there be no noise after 10:00pm. We are an early-to-bed, early-to-rise family (up at 5:00am) so you may hear us above in the morning.
We are ideally situated between the popular Hawthorne and Division streets. We are 2.5 blocks from the nearest bus stop and are walking distance to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, movie theaters. Best of all we are located right across the street from a park. There is ample parking as well.
  • Amazing host and home! Everything was very clean and well maintained, plus the bed was EXTREMELY comfortable! Jennifer is so friendly and although we didn't get to meet her in person, she was able to accommodate all of our requests and provided everything we needed and then some. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Jennifer and her home as your next stay in Portland!

    Rebekah2017-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect spot for two! We used to live in Portland so when we stay there now we like to stay in neighborhoods we ourselves never lived in. The neighborhood is perfectly Portland across from a lush, green park. Space is cozy and quiet. Location is extremely easy to navigate and close to the important stuff (coffee, bars, etc.) Thank you Jennifer!

    Jenny2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable, clean place to stay close to fun things.

    Molly2017-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our two night stay. Apartment looked better then the pictures. It was very clean and we had enough space to store our luggage. Havibg a washing machine and a dryer was a big bonus: after traveling around for more then a week, we were happy to do some laundry. By foot and bus, it took us 30 minutes to get downtown (2.50 each, no change), but we mainly stayed close to the house, Division St and Hawthorne St were the best for eating, drinking and watching the locals. One thing to keep in mind: the apartment upstairs is rented sometimes and you can hear these guest's footsteps and talking. Not a problem, just something you should know. Would definitely return, highly recommended!

  • Great place to stay in a central inner east side neighborhood. The bathroom was my favorite - beautifully decorated - and I was excited to take a bath since I no longer have one at home. It was a bit tricky getting into the house as the step is quite large to go up and I'm an older lady but did it OK. I would stay again. Thank you!

  • Jennifer's place is perfect for a Portland stay. The apartment is spacious and bright with great facilities. It was also immaculately clean and tidy. Location wise it's only a 5-10min walk to a host of cool restraunts, coffee shops and bars or breweries and taprooms. Jennifer was very contactable and provided clear instructions. On hand if needed and not intrusive in anyway. A great stay and host

My house is close to light rail and bus lines in a quiet and secure area. Many restaurants, coffee houses and bars are within walking distance and there is a large grocery store nearby in case you need provisions. There are parks within walking distance as is the Adidas campus. My place is good for solo adventurers and business travelers. There is another bedroom that can sleep two and I have an air mattress available.
Private home with 2 bedrooms in the upstairs of the house. Fully equipped kitchen with a laundry room. The stove is gas so please ask for instructions on how it works before using. The back yard is shady and there is a patio with a fireplace. The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to walk around in.
There are quite a few very good restaurants with in walking distance of the house with a sprinkling of coffee houses and bars. Well lit and quiet there are also a couple of parks with in a few blocks. Also a great grocery store is near by.

  • Sheilah was nice, hospitable, and flexible. She made me feel very welcome to her home. I highly recommend her place to anyone that likes to be treated well.

  • Sheilah's home was a oasis in Portland- clean, transit friendly. An overall swell experience.

  • Sheilah was really easy to communicate with. I had no trouble finding her place, and the room was comfortable and clean.

  • It’s close to a lot of places to eat down town plus a dispensary st end of block. Quit for being is busy part of town train s block away close to everything

  • Sheilah's place is in a very walkable neighborhood. Coffee, food and the light rail are all within a few blocks and the area is very safe at night. The room is on the second floor so anyone with mobility concerns should keep that in mind. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a great dresser, closet and nightstand that make you feel much more at home. Sheila was a great host and though I wasn't able to extend my reservation (to be fair to her, I decided to stay a few more days very last minute!) she was very helpful in recommending a neighborhood convinent for the sights I wanted to see in Portland. Would absolutely stay here again!

  • Shielah is a very warm hearted lady, who would like to share her experience and advice with me. Also her home is just like Portland: a place full of art. You can feel at home and warm when staying at Shielah's house.

  • Brad was very accommodating! We were able to check-in earlier than the original time. He called us personally to let us know the cleaners were gone so we could rest after our flight. The apartment was also stocked nicely for people who travel light. The apartment was within walking distance to some awesome bars and shops in the Pearl district, and was a quick drive to Pittock Mansion/Washington park/Nob Hill area (we would have walked, but it was way too cold). Very clean and quiet. Thanks for making our stay in Portland enjoyable! We'll be back again!

  • Great spot in amazing location. Very clean apartment and very well decorated. Felt like a really cool getaway in the heart of the city.

  • This was our first AirBnB experience and it was delightful. Brad was a great host and super accommodating. The location couldn't be more perfect and we were able to walk to most places with the exception of a few Uber's. The accommodations were beautiful and the condo is very cute and quaint with great amenities. My only word of caution is that when we arrived, we were told by a building maintenance man that if we were staying as part of an AirBnb we could be potentially kicked out as AirBnB is not allowed in the building. We immediately alerted Brad who was so sweet to offer to call other AirBnB's in the area for us. We declined the offer and took our chances with Brad's place and are glad we did. I just want to make sure people are aware as it led to a bit of an uncomfortable situation for my husband and I having to deal with tenants in the building.

  • From start to finish the visit was a breeze. Brad was helpful and answered any questions I had. The apartment was in a perfect location to walk around the Pearl, NW, and SW, districts. There are tons of restaurants, bars, and fun places to check out within walking distance. While we didn't spend much time in the apartment, it was clean, comfortable, and a very nice place to stay. All in all, a wonderful spot!

  • A very unique and beautiful place to stay. My girl friend and I loved it a lot! You can tell the owner of the house lives very much by her heart. Location is great, easy to walk to downtown and lots of restaurants, although the neighborhood looks a bit sketchy during nighttime, which I guess is typical for downtown in every city. Communication with Brad is good too.

  • Brad maintains a charming small flat near the pearl. It is great value, carefully provisioned for comfort, and he provides meticulous instructions and communicates well to ensure a good guest experience. I'd gladly stay again on a future downtown pdx trip!

I had a wonderful stay in Dave's spacious studio. The studio is attached to the house but has a private entrance and its own bathroom. The space was very clean and Dave provided nice amenities such as a microwave, coffee cups, and wine glasses if you wanted to have breakfast or light snacks at the house. There was a streetcar station within walking distance although I did not use it because I rented a car while in Portland. Dave had a convenient place for off-street parking. There is some city noise and light that comes in at night that light sleepers may want to be aware of but nothing out of the ordinary for living in a city. Dave was great to work with (responsive, helpful, and laid back); I recommend staying here and would book again on another trip to Portland.

Ann and Lee were perfectly charming hosts. Their home is situated in an ideal, lively location that afforded access to trendy stores and delicious restaurants. Their home was also very beautiful, clean and comfortable. Ann and Lee also provided wonderful suggestions for restaurants and other attractions around the Portland (and Oregon) area. Highly recommend staying at this gem!
