Grassroots is a beautiful home with peaceful views, definitely a place to visit if you want to relax and take in nature's wonders. The house has plentiful appliances ( airfryer, ice maker, dishwashing machine, washing machine and dryer, toaster, microwave, wine cooler fridge) that come in handy if you are there for a prolonged stay. The kids enjoyed the random toys in the toy box, thank you for that. As you walk through the front door you are meet with the living space stretching out to the patio. On the left you have a guest toilet. To the left of the living area is your prestine white kitchen and scullery. You also have the ensuit bedroom behind/next to kitchen. To the right, a door leads to the other 3 bedrooms as well as shared full bathroom. There is plenty of cupboard space in the bedrooms as well as kitchen. The home is definitely an entertainer's dream. The hosts were quick to attend to queries raised. Thank you for the great stay and the welcome chocolate. Will be back 😊

Pia's place is perfect for a stay in the midlands. Comfortable and clean and in a lovely secure estate and with great parking. Pia made us feel so at home, and her check in instructions were clear and easy to follow. It was lovely stay and we will definitely be back.

We had two stays recently at xmas ‘24 and again in new year ‘25, we had also stayed here before a few years back. It is a safe and peaceful location, the flat itself is clean and comfortable and very spacious. The communication from Joy is extremely good and responsive which we appreciated. The location is accessible with lots of shopping near by, a home from home for us. Many thanks Joy & Tonderai, we look forward to returning when in PMB.

Visiting from the UK, Angela the host gave clear directions & gate entry info. On arrival we were greeted with a thatch roof rondawel in the most serene & private surroundings. Felt so tranquil & peaceful looking out over her beautiful garden. The rondawel has a lovely rustic feel & was spotless with the little touches of tea, coffee, sugar & milk plus some delicious biscuits & a dram of Sherry! There’s a fire pit to enjoy looking up at the vast African sky & a swimming pool to enjoy by day. Vervet monkeys were busy foraging & little duikers came to visit. We stayed here 4 times during our visit we enjoyed it so much. Angela gave us tips on places to visit & eat & was so friendly during our stays. We will definitely be back!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Gillian’s place! From the moment we arrived on Thursday evening until we left on Monday morning, everything was perfect. The home was beautifully prepared, spotless, and incredibly welcoming — exactly what our family of five needed for our time In Pietermaritzburg. Gillian was an exceptional host: thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely caring, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Her attention to detail and the little extra touches made us feel right at home. The space was comfortable, well-equipped, and ideally located, making it easy for us to explore and unwind. Large old family home with lots of character. Everything was perfect, clean and comfortable. We were a large group of parents visiting PMB for the Maritzburg College rugby festival. The house was 10min away in a safe neighbourhood. The house is comfortable to accommodate large groups. Housekeeping was an extra bonus. We would definitely visit again.

The property was immaculate and huge for a family getaway .Absolutely loved the serenity and views of the Berg and privacy of the property .Marilyn was an amazing host and definitely will be returning .
