Doug’s place was a welcome retreat for our extended family for Thanksgiving 2024. We had seven adults and 6 kids - all had an amazing time. Here are some things we really liked about Doug’s place: 1. The kitchen was spacious and squeaky clean. There were loads of appliances and helpful kitchen tools to use. Our family was able to prepare our entire Thanksgiving meal in the bright, spacious, and well-equipped space. 2. The huge dining room table easily fit our large party. We loved the dark wood and the contemporary benches to complement our holiday feast. There was also additional seating at the kitchen bar. Lots of room to entertain. 3. The kids, aged 8-16, loved playing in the basement game room. Pool, foosball, basketball, and a large device-compatible screen. The television also has many streaming services. Lots of seating and sports for lounging. The six kids loved it. 4. The hot tub was a nice touch on the cool days and nights. The tub could hold 8 adults easily. Fun times!

The perfect place to relax

The cabin was clean and nicely decorated and had everything we needed, except a second dining chair. If you are going to spend any time in the cabin you'd better love the one you're with, as it is even smaller than it looks in the pictures. The lower bunk can't really accommodate more than one person comfortably. The location is wonderful.

Amazing peaceful getaway. 10/10 will be coming back. It was the best 3 days of thunder and rain we could have hoped for! And our pup Rizzo loved it too. Wade’s the best!

Nice cabin with lots of activities on all the rivers nearby. We saw one of the small herds of wild horses on our visit at the Broadfoot Field if you go looking for them.

Stayed at Jeff's place for the third time and it was an awesome time once again. My group and I love driving offroad vehicles down to the river, shooting at the range, enjoying the view around a fire, and countless other activities. It is always a great time down at the cabin!

We had a great time at Robins cabin. The natural spring and cave on the property were awesome. It was a perfect getaway for my family. Robin was a superstar….she informed me my daughter left some jewelry and mailed it to me. That was so nice and honest. We definitely would like to stay there again.

We really enjoyed staying at Hans cabin, we had to be in the area for meetings all week so we didn’t get to spend as much time at the cabin as we would’ve liked but when we got home it was very comfortable and relaxing. Would definitely stay there again.

Another great stay at the lake house! We had some inclement weather this time and Daniel was kind enough to stop by several times and keep us informed on the road conditions and even showed us a back way out since some of the low water bridges in the area were flooded. He went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and enjoyed our stay.

Our stay was wonderful. anytime we had a question the response was immediate. conversations on the phone were very friendly. would like to suggest a tv upstairs, if an older couple stays it is hard for them to climb the steps to the game room in order to watch television. otherwise thw Lillipad is perfect for a enjoyable vacation

So many people have said wonderful things about Barbara’s place so it seems that my words would just fall in amongst them. There was something so special about the location and the peaceful atmosphere that when I say “we didn’t want to leave “, I really mean it. It rained and stormed while we were there and it just made everything more beautiful. It was our anniversary and we needed that time together that we don’t get at home. The driving distance to town was just right. The trails on the property led to clear water that you could hear from the porch because of the rain. The fire pit allowed us to roast marshmallows and hotdogs. Our beagle enjoyed sitting on the back deck watching for rabbits or squirrels. Barbara provided beverages, condiments, tea, and even coffee. The way the house is decorated is refreshing but also draws you in to the importance of history and of leaving a legacy of love. We thank you Barbara. From our hearts. Such a beautiful and comfy place to be. I honestly can’t wait to go back! So peaceful and the view was amazing.

We had a wonderful stay at Bungalow #1. Every thing was as described and Ranee was very responsive. Be sure to be extremely aware of the gas stove fire hazard. Each burner has a continuous pilot light that is always lit. The stove is not a typical one that is started with an electrical spark each time you use it. It has four continuous pilot flames. If a towel or anything flammable is set on top of the stove it will catch on fire. That was really my only issue with the place.

So Anedodi, is the best bang for the buck. I love how they have left the extras that other guest "donate" we left some beautiful florals and and other dish ware. It feels just like going to the family cabin. And that is the BIGGEST Bath tub i have ever seen in my life everyone's first response was how did they get it in here, i think they built the house around it..lol Everything is really great and when you're stressed just go have a drink on the porch and watch the sunset did wonders for my soul.. thank you so much Hilary for sharing your piece of heaven.. the Martin-Teager's although i didn't get a hyphen even on face book so scratch that Thank You, The Martin's ...lol

Another perfect family gathering at this beautiful home on the golf course! We have created so many memories here! This house is perfect to accommodate our family. We cook and grill - everything you could possibly need is there for you. We play cards and games in the sunroom. We eat big meals, listen to music, watch football and movies. We play golf. We enjoy the shops in town. I sit and watch the water and reflect on the blessings of life. It is just perfect. The most responsive host. The comfiest beds and pillows. Clean, well appointed and a true gift for this house to be offered to be enjoyed by others.

Rocking Chair Resort was perfect for our stay near Lake Norfork. Jane was helpful as I was looking for last minute availability on a busy weekend. The cabin was clean and comfortable!

We had never seen this property before making our reservation. We were very pleasantly surprised with the bungalows. I would love to bring my family back for a weekend sometime.

A lovely home with rocking chairs on the deck and enclosed porch, a large kitchen, streaming television, comfortable beds, and plenty of bathrooms. One of those rare locations at which pets are welcome. Great place for a multi-family getaway!

It’s a great place to stay. Very cozy and warm. Right in the middle between the Black river, St. Francis river, Johnson’s shut-ins, Elephant rock park, bike park and Taum Sauk mountain.
