The Blue Yard

The Blue Yard is a tiny home on the beautiful drive-on island of Aughinish, 12 km outside the sea-side town of Kinvara, named one of the top ten beautiful villages in Ireland. Aughinish Island is accessed by a 1 km causeway (not tidal) and is an area of unspoilt beauty with local pebble beaches a five minute walk away and the sandy beach of Traught a ten min drive away (8 km). You'll be staying on the Clare-Galway border with both the wildness of the Burren and Galway city at your doorstep.

Welcome to your Luxury Shepherd’s hut, perfect for a winter Burren adventure, and a cosy stop on your road trip! The hut sits on a 1 acre country garden with views of the Burren mountains. It has central heating, a kitchen, bathroom, Wi-Fi & the best mattress you ever slept on. We welcome couples, road trippers, solo travellers, visitors to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway Christmas market. There is a chimnea stove outside to stay up late & watch the stars. Parking is right beside the hut.

This is a self contained apartment, tastefully decorated, on the ground floor, with your own private entrance. There is a double bed, kitchen, dining and living room, and bathroom. With your own private patio with panoramic views. The apartment is newly renovated to the highest standard, with gas heating and a solid fuel stove. It was just finished in March 2022, and we are very happy with how it turned out. We have put together a guest food hamper which we hope you will enjoy.
