It was the perfect house for me and my friends for spring break! The distance to the ski resort you can’t beat it! Would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time and hope to return! Jackie was accommodating, and the cabin had everything we could have needed. Watching the sunset from the hot tub, sitting by the fireplace, walking around the neighborhood, hiking various trails (or attempting due to mud and ice), and taking in the beautiful nearby sights were just a few highlights.

A wonderful little cabin nestled off of Hwy 44 between Rapid City and Johnson Siding. A great stay, as always!

Paula and her family are wonderful hosts. They stay in the small home on property and you really don’t even know they are there. Paula shows the best amount hospitality. Stella ,their dog is the sweetest. They keep her on their part of the property. The cabin is one of the cleanest airbnbs I’ve stayed in. Paula keeps a fully supplied kitchen with all you would need, if you like to cook your own meals. There’s a little ‘echo’ for playing your favorite music. Out in the backyard is a great hot tub. Privacy and having a peaceful experience is their M.O. We certainly had a peaceful and private experience. Paula makes great recommendations for anywhere you’d like to go from sight seeing & hiking to meals out. We went to the best coffee place in town on her recommendation and had to go everyday from the first time on. We went everyday for 1 week. It was the Hermosa Coffee house. The owner is super hospitable, she works with her daughters. She makes her own pastry. The maple bacon cinnamon roll is the best! The coffee is superb. Back to the house, the backyard is where we spent mornings reading and nights star gazing. The cabin is also central to lots of great South Dakota highlights, Custer state park, Mount Rushmore, the badlands, keystone, rock hunting, and downtown Custer. We would definitely stay again. We found South Dakota to take pride in being caring for others and hospitable. We loved our vacation. We loved our stay in Paula’s family cabin.

Lenora was helpful. Listing description accurate. Hints for use of amenities greatly appreciated. Listing well kept and good for a family adventure. Breakable decorations few, which was appreciated given little hands we had running amuck. 10/10 would stay again.

Cozy cabin in a great location! We were traveling to visit the Black Hills and nearby national parks and monuments. We found this location to be very convenient and we loved the town of Deadwood! The cabin was clean and well stocked with essentials. I will call out that there is no door to the bathroom. The toilet and shower are located around a hall and although not within sight from the main room, there is not physical barrier offering privacy. While this worked out for us, I would have preferred privacy of a door or at minimum a curtain. This was still a 5 Star experience for us, but felt it was worth noting.

Amazing location. This little cabin was the perfect jumping off point for us to explore the area. The house was great and we absolutely loved the backyard for our pups.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the location right on the creek was so beautiful and peaceful. Highly recommend enjoying the hot tub at night, the view of the night sky was amazing. The house was just like the pictures, clean and comfortable.

We just had our second stay at Misty Haven, and it was even better than the first! We absolutely love this place and can’t wait to come back again. The cabin is incredibly well-stocked with everything you could possibly need, making it feel like a home away from home. The property itself is stunning—so peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by beautiful nature. Derito and Margaret are such a delight and truly add to the charm of the experience. Don't hesitate - book it. This place is incredible & one of my favorite Airbnb stays of all-time. When they say "Off-Grid Luxury", they MEAN IT down to the detail. The tile in the bathroom, the beautiful fire places, the tools in the kitchen; everything feels elevated, purposeful, and just NICE. We were celebrating our 8-year anniversary and found it to be the perfect place for us two; we didn't leave for the entire weekend. We cooked every meal, sat by the fire and talked, laid in the sunroom and watched birds, and made fires at night to watch the stars. It's incredibly secluded and felt like we were in our own little world (in the best way!) Things to note: it is remote (which is WONDERFUL), but if there's snow, have a car with 4-wheel drive. Also, the closest grocery store is at least a 30-minute drive (I think), so bring food with you! It is SO worth it. I am already trying to plan the next time we can go back!!

This place is EPIC! It felt so peaceful and my family didn't want to leave; because it was so special. If you are thinking about this place to stay, you better or you will be missing out.

Absolutely loved this place. Close to everything in the Black Hills. The cottage was perfect for what we needed. Very quiet, clean and cozy. The animals at the ranch were the cherry on top. Loved everything about the ranch. Definitely will book again when we come back.

This is our second time staying here - it’s just as beautiful in the fall as it is in the winter. My dog and I had a great time exploring, sitting on the deck, observing the wildlife (daily visits from many deer, turkeys, etc). It’s very peaceful. The deck is our favorite place to hang. The addition of the recliner inside is so great - as is the new deck furniture. Truly a little slice of heaven. Will definitely be back again!
