Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable en famille. Il y avait tout le nécessaire pour le bébé. Pour les adultes, le jacuzzi couvert est très appréciable, surtout pour se détendre les jours de pluie

We booked Maddy‘s place very last minute. She was very amicable and got the place ready quickly for us! The upstairs mezzanine was perfect t for ours kids. Maddy and her family were so friendly and helpful. We would definitely visit again if we’re passing through. The house was perfect for two adults three children and a dog. Our children are aged 8, 10 and 12 and we enjoyed cycling out to the local town and playing by the swimming pool. The kids loved feeding the goat, there were chickens too. They loved the owners dog too! We visited Royan, it’s approx 30 minutes drive. I would throughly recommend this place!

Louise et Mickael nous ont très bien accueillis, avec en plus une bouteille de vin blanc et des bières au frais ! Très appréciable ! Nous avons passé une semaine de vacances agréable au Moulin Chaillou. Nous avons pu profiter de la piscine, que les enfants ont adorée (4 ans et 1 an). Tous les commerces sont à proximité, la plage est à 45 minutes, ainsi que l'aquarium, etc. Si besoin, n'hésitez pas, Louise et Mickael sont là pour répondre à vos besoins.

Almost don’t want to say how lovely, as will make it more competitive to book to go back! In a word - glorious! - The gite, gardens and grounds and pool are kept beautifully. Gite was spotless and very well equipped (including lots of goodies on arrival, garden games to use there - kids were very happy - charcoal ready for the bbq etc), huge comfortable beds, and wood fired hot tub to sit and look at the stars. - Stunning surrounding views (endless fields of sunflowers) and lovely shady woods to be walk. - Lots of pretty villages - particularly Aubeterre with its central square and river beach worth the short drive (under 20 mins). We also loved the big river beach at St Aulaye (c.40 mins). - Meg and Mark are kind, fun and knowledgeable hosts who were perfect balance of around and incredibly helpful - but very much left us to just relax and enjoy the gite/pool as our own. - Shopping v easy at local supermarkets, various markets and nearby village shop/butchers. Thank you!!

Great for a short stay in a beautiful part of France! The host instructions re. local amenities and activities are super helpful given the relatively remote location.

Virginie est une hôte très accueillante et disponible pour toutes les demandes. le logement correspondait aux photos et très calme.. c est très cosy!! le petit déjeuner proposé en option est très copieux. la piscine partagée et l espace spa sauna sont des plus pour ce logement . lieu idéalement placé pour découvrir la région.. je recommande vivement

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and could easily have stayed longer. The place was perfect, fantastic pool, great countryside and fab location for day trips. Mark and Elaine were the perfect hosts, all in all a great place!

Nous avons passé un super séjour dans le logement de Marie Noelle ! ✨ Le logement était parfaitement propre et corresponds au photos bien que ces dernières ne le mettent pas suffisamment en valeur car il est encore mieux et plus spacieux en vrai ! La place de parking est super pratique et le coin est très calme et charmant avec quelques petites boulangeries sympathiques à proximité ! Marie Noelle a su répondre à toutes nos questions avec gentillesse et est très compréhensive pour les horaires d'arrivée ! Nous recommandons ! 👌

wij hebben genoten van de stilte, ruimte en rust maar juist ook van de bedrijvigheid in het sluisje. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien, dus ook op een koudere regenachtige dag, waar we er maar 2 van hadden in 18 dagen tijd, voorziet het huis in behoefte. De nieuwe airco op de slaapkamer is een genot op zeer warme dagen. Opvallend was dat er zeer weinig muggen waren, ondanks de waterrijke omgeving. Er was niets dat ons tegenviel.

Le gîte d’Andrew est une petite merveille. Sa décoration atypique vous charmera mais vous ne passerez pas beaucoup de temps en intérieur : piscine, ping-pong, badminton et volley vous attendent (les équipements sont fournis). Après, vois pourrez vous reposer dans le salon de jardin les pieds dans l’herbe en cous laissant bercer par le chant des oiseaux, un vrai plaisir ☀️ Ça a été dur de quitter ce gîte idéal pour un séjour en famille ou entre amis. Je reviendrais pour sûr! Merci Andrew!

The gite itself is beautiful - comfortable, spacious but also delightfully decorated with lots of historical original features on show from the stone wall to the old bakery oven. We travelled with young children who loved seeing all the animals, and Milly's recommendations for food and things to do was spot on. Aubeterre is a really lovely town to stumble around and we had a great day by the lake - there was something for everyone. The boutique on site is also a great stop for souvenirs and presents (or treats) and really handy. We travelled there from Burgundy (also beautiful) which is quite a drive away but we all agreed it was well worth it. Thanks again Milly!

We all had a fantastic week at Le Pible. There are so many things we could say about this beautiful place - the setting was amazing at all times of the day and we loved watching the deer and horses roaming across the fields. The cottage and gite were both well equipped and comfortable and the beautifully presented gite gave us extra space which was much appreciated. On arrival there was a packed welcome tray which was both thoughtful and enjoyed during the week. Without a doubt, the swimming pool was a favourite for us all especially as the week we were staying there was a very hot week. It was immaculately clean and we loved the salt water. Our hosts could not have been more helpful and replied to any questions extremely promptly. We unreservedly recommend Le Pible as a fabulous holiday home and have made many happy memories by staying there.

Graeme and Anne were wonderful hosts, and their accommodation was lovely. We arrived much later than planned due to a delayed flight, but they welcomed us and got us settled in. The holiday started to go right as soon as we arrived. The property is beautiful, in a rural setting, and the photos are very accurate. We would love to stay again.

A great place to stay with the family. There is a lovely pool, sweet play area and the accommodation is well equipped for self catering. Will come back.

Carol’s place was even better than expected with communication brilliant throughout our stay. Carol made us feel like part of the family for our week away. We would recommend to absolutely anyone looking to have a quiet stay in the Charante area of France. We will be back as soon as possible!

We had a lovely 6 days staying here. Two families, each with two children. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Two doubles and two twins. One double is downstairs and the other is upstairs but up a separate staircase, so separated from the others. We loved the outdoor spaces, especially the front courtyard (and the table tennis). The kids loved the pool and the trampoline and Anna’s very sweet and friendly dog. Absolutely beautiful surroundings and grounds. Lots of spots to eat and sit. Very nice pool area and the pool was refreshing on hot days. There were a few issues with the showers, but Anna was very quick to respond and help sort things out and it didn’t impact on our enjoyment of the house. Overall, we loved it here and would happily return (for longer, hopefully) in the future.

Linda et Claude sont des hôtes vraiment exceptionnels ! Extrêmement sympathiques, accueillants, serviables...! Leur gîte est vraiment bien situé, au calme, avec une magnifique vue! Tout est bien pensé, pour les grands comme les petits. La piscine est génial ainsi que le coin jeux! Merci pour tout! On reviendra avec plaisir!

We had a fantastic month here. The house is equipped with everything you need. It has an amazing atmosphere. The area is quiet and peaceful, a perfect place to relax.
