Such wonderful hosting and what a gorgeous location

What a dream it was to stay at this lovely cottage! So cute & cozy with a beautiful outdoor space that we were welcome to explore. Got to meet a couple of Michele’s retrievers our first evening when she came to greet us, which was a treat. Relaxing outside the cottage was such a magical experience with birds chirping, deer grazing, and a cat wandering around seeking pets. The property is also right next to the Mount Parke Regional Park which we enjoyed a spontaneous hike around. We got a chance to walk over to Mayne Island Brewing on Sunday for a couple of beers and to stock up for our visit. We also did our grocery shopping at the Farm Gate Store just down the road from the property and made most of our meals at the cottage. In the evenings we tucked into the VHS and DVD collection which was so fun & nostalgic! Thanks so much, Michele! We hope to be back in the future :)

I came to the tiny seaside retreat looking for a beautiful place where I could disconnect from my life and get started on writing a novel, and I wasn't disappointed! It was perfect: cozy home, beautiful views and a great host to help me throughout my stay! Lauri was super responsive and helpful whenever I needed anything. The place was big enough for my needs and well stocked with everything you could ask for. I was nervous about the loft bedroom with the low ceilings, but I can honestly say I've never slept better in my life. I was grateful for the option of the fold out bed downstairs but didn't end up using it. Sitting out on the decks and writing each day while looking out over the water was heaven. I got to see one of the resident otters! I will definitely be a return visitor... I'm already planning it! Thanks so much for being so awesome, Lauri!

Amazing spot to explore Bowen from. Cozy cabin feel with comfy bed, lovely amenities, and the most lovely space to make meals, play games, sit by the fire and relax. Reg was kind and welcoming and the space was lovely. Happy to have stayed and would definitely book again!

We had a lovely stay at Christina's cabin. A few things stood out to us, notably the fact that, though rustic, the water pressure and temperature was great. While outside of the host's control, there are a few things to note. 1) the drive is very, very muddy (as mentioned in the posting) after snow or rain. It may not be doable for every vehicle, but cars with all wheel drive and high clearance will manage just fine. 2) the neighbour's dogs visit. This is only notable because we brought our dog who is not friendly with other dogs, and we were excited to have him explore the property. There were many times we had to pop him back in the cabin as the neighbour dogs ventured too close. These dogs are beautiful and very very friendly, but did limit how much our dog could be in the yard, which doesn't have a full fence (as reflected in the photos). All in all, bring a few bottles of wine, some good friends and board games for this cozy cabin getaway. 10/10 would return!

Excellent hosts - Warm and friendly and accommodating. It was our second stay and we had a wonderful time on their property. We enjoyed the new hydrotherapy they have added, had a great canoe around the lake and lots of laughs with our kids around the fire and playing games. Thanks for a wonderful unplugged get-away!

My friend and I stayed at Kristen’s place the night before a trail race and it was perfect! Super close to town, easy to find and a great space for 2 people. Upstairs celestial bedroom is super cute but definitely would be best suited for a child vs an adult, but still totally workable for a small adult. Kristen was very responsive, helpful and place was super clean. We loved the hobby farm and getting to meet Chewbacca and Nugget, etc. Very thankful for coffee pods left and tons of cream packages in the fridge! Thanks for a great/quick stay Kristen!

Hideaway creek is a little slice of heaven. It’s a private location nestled in the trees, yet close enough to Gibsons/Sechelt to easily enjoy the local restaurants, beaches and shops. The hot tub, sauna, cold plunge tub and spacious yard really set this location apart from others. We’ll definitely be back again!

If you are looking for a quiet private place this is the place you were looking for. The property is pristine and well-maintained.

We had an awesome stay—such a peaceful and relaxing escape from the city. The space was clean, cosy, and surrounded by nature. Perfect for a quiet weekend to recharge. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking to slow down and unwind!

We enjoyed our stay in the beaver cabin greatly! The room was cozy and clean and very cute and the hot tub, outdoor fire pit and sauna were an added bonus! Very close to lots of hiking trails in the surrounding area aswell!

This is a magical place to experience It is one of a kind and not to be missed. You will feel relaxed and rejuvenated and to just enjoy the natural beauty of it all

We had an amazing stay at Marjories cute little cabin. It was set in a serene location in nature and was very private. It was exactly as described . We would certainly go back some time in future.

Highly recommend booking ! The perfect amount of privacy while being close to town. The property and tiny home are beautiful and such a fun experience. The hot tub, sauna and cold plunge were relaxing and well maintained.

My friend and I had a great stay! We had a comfortable stay! The only minor issue was the hot water system. It was a little tricky to get it to the perfect temp when it came to taking a hot shower but it really didn’t affect our stay and wasn’t a deal breaker for us! The location was so awesome and private! We lucked out with some beautiful weather so we were outside and down by the beach mostly! Thanks again for the stay and I’d recommend this place.

Karina’s tiny home was everything I had hoped for. There’s a beautiful view of the mountain on both sides. It was cozy, clean, tasteful and functional. I enjoyed filming for my food blog with the natural light spilling from every window. Communication with the host was easy and gracious, Karina recommended seasonal activities to explore nearby like the Agassiz tulip festival and It was truly lovely. The experience was worth it and I would be excited at any chance to stay here again, especially in autumn.

We had such a lovely stay at this cozy tiny home! One of the highlights was the beautiful meadow right in front of the house . Our two dogs absolutely loved running around and enjoying the open space. The location is perfect, easy to find and peaceful, yet close enough to everything we needed. Inside, the home is modern and thoughtfully designed. We especially loved the blue color theme that carries through the space, from the walls to the dishware and even the blankets! It’s the little details like that which really made it feel special and cared for. The host was wonderful to communicate with, super friendly, responsive, and made sure we had everything we needed. We’d definitely love to come back again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with or without pups! 🐾💙

We loved our time at the tiny home! The property that it sits on is incredibly beautiful, and we enjoyed our daily visits to the lake nearby. Our experience at Refuge Bay was truly amazing and precisely what we needed for rejuvenation and reconnection. I have experienced many glamping accommodations, but this particular location and its amenities surpassed all expectations. The sauna was impressive, and we thoroughly enjoyed brewing Nespresso coffees, gathering around the fire, and stargazing with binoculars. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the entire space was exceptionally well-equipped, with thoughtful consideration given to every possible need or desire. The host was highly responsive during the entire booking process and addressed any inquiries we had during our stay. We felt genuinely cared for throughout our experience. Their guest portal was a thoughtful addition, allowing us to explore the various add-ons available, and we appreciated the opportunity to personalize our getaway with a charcuterie board and a fresh floral arrangement. We can’t wait to go back and experience this place in different seasons!

This is the perfect little place if you want to just settle into nature. The cabin is very cozy with the wood fire place and the sun room was my favourite to just cuddle up with a book. They have tons of books there as well as the neighbour down the road has a little sharing library. The whore area is filled with hikes and nature walks along with a beautiful little lake. Dave and Kyra are very friendly and welcome as well as their adorable dog. I would definitely come back and stay again.
