The host: Samridhi is a very responsive and helpful host. The cab driver she referred was super reliable, the tea supplier was excellent. Amenities: The homestay is beautiful, clean and comes with a fully equipped kitchen. Its cozy and very comfortable. It can accommodate upto 3 people. View: The balcony overlooks Happy Valley Tea Estate and the view is gorgeous. Definitely the highlight. Location: Excellent- a 20 minute walk from the centre of the city. Food: Food at the homestay was simple and tasty. The building has multiple flats which makes it a good choice for bigger groups too. I'd definitely recommend Magnolia Homestay to anyone who's visiting Darjeeling.

Tranquil, that's how I felt at Eshab's Homestay. It was really a home away from home. The friendly doggos and the ever so attentive staff were always ready to assist with a smile. Food at the restaurant was delicious, the never ending cups of steaming hot milk tea, the drizzle of the rain and the cold crisp air was perfect indeed. We were regaled with karaoke at their bar and restaurant, and on our last night, upon the owner's insistence, we even gave it a shot! We stayed for 4 nights and it was worth it. We did a fair bit of sightseeing (Pelling, Chakung etc) and leisurely walks up to the monastery and the falls. They even provide you with umbrellas! Everything was well managed by the kind staff - Alisha, Rohit, Susma, Kabita and a few others including the happy and helpful young men who drove us around ( namely RK, Pasang and Tashi) - and the pleasant and chatty owner, Kesang's dad who was a total sweetheart! Islam and his family's hospitality is un matched. From the moment he picked me up from the airport, to making sure I had all the comforts in my room, was fed, gave me warm clothes when I needed them and personally picking me up from my meditation retreat, I could not ask for a better host. It was like a secret nook in the midst of the forest. We had a comfortable and cozy cabin to ourselves with a nice view of the woods. Clean, sanitized and tidy rooms (and bathroom) with warm and comfortable beddings. Mr. Tshering and his mother are both very warm and welcoming. They made us feel at home since we reached the farm. Evening bonfire and barbecue were major ornaments to this package. However, the entire experience was brilliant. Visiting again for sure later this year, perhaps in Autumn. Highly recommended.
