Waterval family farm cottage

The secluded bush cottage is the only dwelling built within a nature conservancy, consisting of two main rooms. The layout is perfect for a large family, couples or close-knit friends. Wildlife like reedbuck and kudu are often spotted from the bedroom windows or porch. Birdlife like the Verreaux's eagle and fiery-necked nightjar are often spotted. The self-catering cottage is fully-equipped and run completely off-the-grid with solar power, a gas oven and hob and a solar-powered water geyser.

Situated 15 minutes from Bedford and 5 minutes from Adelaide in the Eastern Cape on a beautiful farm. The Country Lodge can sleep four guests comfortably with all the necessary amenities. It consists of two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms (showers only) Fully equipped kitchenette, open plan lounge area with dining room , a cosy fire place for those chilly nights and full DSTV on offer. At the front of the lodge is a Boma overlooking the garden with a fire pit, braai and dining area.

We welcome you to Glen Rock Lodge, a place to escape the chaos of the city and relax. Reconnect in one of the Eastern Cape's best kept secrets, the Baviaans River Valley. Glen Rock is 35km from Bedford, far enough from the city to switch off but close enough to amenities of Bedford. The lodge is a Cape Dutch style home, dating back to the 1800s and originally served as a police station to the local community in the days of mounted horse back police.
