From the minute I arrived at the gates of this majestic mansion, I felt at peace. The host, Marc, is a fascinating and kind renaissance man, who graciously welcomed me into his historic home. My suite was once occupied by the famous writer, Hermann Hesse which is what first attracted me to this listing. It is charming with high ceilings and spacious rooms, which are decorated with lovely antiques. The view from the suite of the grand and elegant Wenkenhof Villa and manicured French gardens. The area is surrounded with parks and forest, but an easy walk or ride to the village of Riehen. Riehen is a storybook area with fine shops and cafes. Public transportation is readily available to commute to the city of Basel; a guest is provided with a complementary pass. The B&B manager, Dorette, was so efficient and helpful from the start and throughout the stay. This will always be one of my favorite stays, and for that I am grateful.

Fantastic little place. Perfect location. Quaint and beautiful. Heated floors are amazing. Highly recommend.

Very nice, cozy apartment at a ideal location - very quite yet with a direct connection to the Messe. You get everything you need in the house and can enjoy the shunshine or evening breeze on the balcony. It's a shame that we didn't meet Jinhee in person, but Tom was also such a nice and warm-hearted host! Always patient for every question and request. Many thanks!

Top Lage mit schöner Aussicht, ruhiges Quartier, Spielplatz und Wald ganz in der Nähe, kurzer Fussmarsch zur Tramlinie direkt in die Innenstadt von Basel. Da vorher/nachher keine Vermietung war, hätten wir ganz flexibel schon am Vorabend anreisen resp. nach 11:00 Uhr auschecken können. Küche und Zimmer einfach ausgestattet, aber absolut praktikabel und für uns vollkommen ausreichend. Respektive haben wir fehlende Kochutensilien nach vorgängiger Rücksprache mit Daniel selber mitgebracht. Wir würden wieder kommen!

Beautiful house beyond what pictures can describe with great designs and taste. Guylaine is SUPER helpful and communicative. I will definitely stay again when I’m in Basel!

Der Aufenthalt bei Lorine war fantastisch. Das Atelier ist hochwertig ausgestattet, extrem sauber und liegt in einem ruhigen, charmanten Quartier – dabei nur wenige Minuten von der Basler Innenstadt entfernt. Die gut gefüllte Minibar mit Wasser und japanischem Bier war ein Highlight. Morgens fühlte es sich an, als würde man in einer Blumenwiese erwachen. Wir hatten einen Parkplatz direkt am Haus und Lorine war eine wunderbare Gastgeberin: hilfsbereit, herzlich und mit tollen Restauranttipps. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!

Andy was a great host. Communication was easy, quick and helpful. The apartment had everything I needed and was very clean. The location was excellent near to shops, restaurants and tram/bus stops. I highly recommend this cute flat for personal stay. I stayed here for about 2 month. The host, Sabino, is really kind and warm-hearted. He is available for help every time. The neighbors in this building is also kind and helpful. The flat is exactly the same as the picture, with shared bathroom in a separated room. But for most of the time, I did not see any other people using it. The room is one of most well-equipped ones I have seen and available for cooking. Furthermore, its address is legal for registration in Basel-Stadt migration office. There is a Chinese saying, “the sparrow is small, but it contains all useful organs for a vivid life”. You really did it! Sabino.

The apartment is totally as it's described, clean and spacious. Good coffee machine with a supply of coffee provided. Nice patio to have a breakfast or dinner. Place is very quite, easy transportation to the center, train station and airport - all just 10-20 minutes away. Basel card included - meaning free rides for all guests and 50% museums discounts practically everywhere in Basel. Hosts' response time to our messages was never more than a few minutes.

Had a really nice stay at the apartment- it was clean and as described. The location is pretty good too and easy for public transport. I’ve given it 5 stars as 4 would have seems unfair- but there were a few improvements that they really should make- it was a single person booking but I didn’t expect to arrive to a small single quilt on a double bed!!! This was pretty silly- not particularly comfortable as it only covered half the bed and wasn’t particularly welcoming!!! Also, I understand that I had booked the apartment knowing the check in and check out times but a little flexibility would have been appreciated- I did however receive a swift response to my request atleast. As I said- small points and I’ve still rated it 5 stars, thank you

We hebben het super fijn gehad! Wat een mooi huis: licht en ruim en met een enorme tuin. De buurt was ook echt heel fijn, met een prachtig park voor de deur en we konden snel met het ov de stad in. we voelden ons echt locals 🤗. Het huis was ook fijn schoon en netjes. Kortom: Aanrader!

We had a wonderful stay. Michael communicated well and provided everything we needed for a great stay. The place was clean, well-stocked, and had all the essentials to make our stay enjoyable. Our family felt comfortable and at home throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend this spot to others. Looking forward to staying again in the future!

Wir haben ein Professorenpaar aus New Orleans und eine Kamerafrau für unseren Dokumentarfilm dort untergebracht. Sie waren sehr zufrieden. Dank dem grosszügigen Esstisch konnten wir auch unsere gemeinsamen Take-out Mahlzeiten dort einnehmen, sodass die wohnung zu unserem Treffplatz für Arbeitssitzungen wurde

I have stayed in many AirBnBs in Basel and this is one of the very best. It’s definitely the cleanest and fanciest. Sharmeen is a wonderful host too and was always quick to respond and address any issues. The place has many high-end features, including smart showers, adjustable lighting, wonderful TV and audio systems, electric window shutters, and even a treadmill and a work station. The kitchen was fully stocked. The beds were very comfortable and the towels as well. The location is very close to a supermarkets, pharmacies, and the train station. The only minor critiques were the comically small hand basin in the guest bathroom and the sofa’s removable backrest that kept falling off. But overall, 10/10!

Grand appartement au deuxième d'un petit immeuble de trois étages. Bien situé au abord de la vieille ville, accessible à pied en 10 minutes. Magasin à côté du logement et arrêt de tram au bas de l'immeuble. Équipé pour un séjour agréable avec le nécessaire pour cuisiner. Chambres spacieuses avec deux salles d'eau. Nous avons choisi cet appartement afin de découvrir le carnaval avec des amis. Recommandé pour toutes personnes souhaitant visiter Bâle.

This place was fantastic! The location was amazing and very close to public transport. The place itself was incredibly clean and cozy. The host was very accommodating allowing us to check in early which made our trip so much better. Additionally, the host was so friendly, informative, and helpful throughout the entire stay. This place was wonderful, highly recommend!

Very cozy and stylish condo apartment. We felt right at home and it was a challenge to get out into Basel for sightseeing because it was so comfortable in the apartment. Amenities were provided and everything was prepared in great consideration. The host Jennifer was very responsive and has a high level of attention to detail. She prep everything so well that we did not have any post questions to ask while staying there. Highly recommended. Cheers

We stayed at the apartment for two weeks as a group of three. The modern amenities made us instantly comfortable and the extra bathroom was a helpful. Patricia sent extremely clear instructions via email along with the Basel card so that we could use it upon arriving for transportation. She had left instructions for everything we might need to use with the apartment including the fully stocked kitchen. We cooked several delicious meals. The Coop grocery store is a quick 5 minute walk. The location was perfect for us since the Trams were just at the end of the street with easy connections to anywhere! There were several restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The best part of staying with Patricia was her quick responsiveness to any question. She made special accommodations for us and responded with suggestions immediately. I highly recommend choosing Patricia’s comfortable modern apartment for any length of stay. I would definitely rebook if we return to Basel.
