The house was great location, spacious and clean. And great communication from the host. Just something to note is that the living and dining space are geared up to seat 6 which is difficult when there’s more of you as the house does sleep 10. Also two bedrooms don’t have access to a shower which just meant we had to co-ordinate when they could use the other rooms en-suites.

A lovely house tucked away in the forest. Plenty of places to walk to and not far to drive to the coast. Great house and the hot tub is lovely, was running when we arrived. The WiFi was not working a lot of the time unfortunately and limited phone signal but always a good excuse to read a book.

The house was perfect with plenty of space for the family. Great communication from Michelle. I had a few questions and everything was responded to with clear instructions. Lovely village feel to the immediate area.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property which was in pristine condition. Very close to the university which was exactly what we needed for this visit. The free parking space round the back was super convenient. The house was well stocked with all the essentials and some luxuries too - a nice surprise. We'd like to thank our hosts for having the property ready for us in such a welcoming way. This was definitely one of the best places we've stayed at in Colchester in this price range, with lovely hosts too. We're looking forward to our next visit.

Thank you for hosting us. The cottage is located in a beautiful private location with access to a big garden which our kids and puppy enjoyed running and playing in. Debbie and Tony are very warm and welcoming hosts, would recommend their cottage for anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway in a beautiful and peaceful location.

This home and host is a little hidden gem of west mersea. The house is impeccably clean and cosy and honestly felt like home from home I slept well all 3 nights which is rare for me when away from home. The home has just about everything you could think of in it making life so much easier all round. Everything went smoothly thanks to Jayne who was very accommodating and helpful from the moment of booking until leaving. Would definitely want to stay again in the future. Thank you Jayne.

The apartment itself was spotless, well-equipped, and had such a cozy atmosphere. It felt like a home away from home! Had a great stay at Reilly's apartment. The building is just next to the park and a few blocks only from the high street and the city centre with all the restaurants, cafés and tourist attractions. Nadine was very friendly and responsive. The place was comfortable, spotless clean and equipped to a high standard. Can highly recommend for anyone looking to visit Colchester!

We were made very welcome when we arrived. The annex is lovely, well equipped, really comfy bed and beautiful bathroom. very peaceful getaway.

The Cart Lodge was absolutely perfect. The living space was comfortable and spacious, the kitchen was very well equipped, the beds were very comfy, and the shower had really good water pressure. There was lots of natural light in the property from all the windows, and the views across the countryside were just beautiful. The local treats left for us on arrival were a lovely surprise, and Angela was a very friendly and communicative host. We would definitely recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed the 3 adjoined cottages as it gave extra space and privacy too. The games room is inspired - a refuge for older children or adults with table tennis, table football, a radio and outdoor games but an independent goal for our toddlers too with gocarts and balls. Walking routes from the door meant no travelling by car for us so we'll have to visit again to see some of the many sights we've yet to visit! There are quite a lot of stairs between all the cottages which the children loved but put their parents on guard! The views the hillside afforded though were magnificent. And the animals on the working farm were a source of delight. Well equipped, Kate was on hand should we have any queries.

Stunning cottage in stunning grounds of a stately home / manor. The cottage is in a private orchard so you have a lovely very large green / garden with the accompanying birdsong to enjoy to yourselves! There are no other cottages so the grounds are private and wonderful to explore on foot too. The kids brought their bikes for some cycling on the attached woodland paths and lovely for morning or evening walks. The cottage itself is modern, spotless and well heated, lovely roll top bath and walk in showers. The cottage from outside to in is all one floor so great for our baby who was crawling (there is one step between the kitchen and living room). Hosts were very responsive and welcoming.

A lovely cottage, spotlessly clean. Plenty of space for 4 people. Wood burner was welcome in cooler evenings. En-suite rooms were comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with utensils. Setting was very peaceful, with ponds and fields nearby. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay, including a walk around the local village. Would stay again if returning to the area.

A lovely place to stay, and the boating lake was magical. As a caveat, the garden is shared and a little more overlooked than the pictures suggest, but overall we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
