Such a lovely place. The hosts thought of all the extra little details and communication was great. Welcome drink, bread, eggs and milk were a very nice extra touch. It’s actually even nicer than it looks in the pictures. Walkable pub/restaurant so no cooking was required but a well equipped kitchen if you do want to cook. A tablet that explained how everything operated as well as things to do in the local area. A quiet and relaxing place that I would definitely return to.

Loved it here, a real home from home for us and perfect for exploring both York and further north. We loved the fact it was homely and rural, and the hot tub was a real treat. The only tiny downside was the oven is old and took a while to cook on, but we ate out too so not a massive problem. Just what we were after, thank you!

Me and my group of 4 stayed in Jenson Cottage & we absolutely loved every second! We decided to go here for a late birthday weekend away & York town was about a twenty minute taxi away where we spent Friday evening. The host’s were amazing - we had a minor problem with working the barbecue on our second day as it was our first time and the host came to help us straight away, we also got lost as it’s no where near our local area and the host was able to direct us straight to the location. we have made incredible memories and this lodge is fantastic value and somewhere that we will definitely be coming back.

3 Railway Cottage is a fantastic base to explore the amazing beauty of North Yorkshire. The cottage is located a 20 minute walk from the centre of Pickering but is in a really quiet and private location. The only exception of course is the opportunity to wave at the heritage railway trains that pass at the back of the cottage a few times a day which is really amazing, especially if you wave from the comfort of the hot tub! I can’t recommend this location highly enough, it is a really comfortable and well equipped cottage in a fantastic location - what more could you ask for?

My wife and I visited for the weekend, Gemma was on hand from the moment of booking to leaving, the cottage is beautiful and situated in a small village so very peaceful, Gemma and Andrew have gone above and beyond to make the cottage homely, very modern but also keeping the charm of the 17th century, every item of furnishings fits in beautifully and the extras in the kitchen and bathroom are a lovely, welcome touch, you feel far away from anywhere when either in the hot tub or sitting in the garden, we had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate in highly recommending a stay here.

Carol’s place is a colourful, imaginative retreat. It’s very relaxing, comfortable and a warm place to spend away from home. The little things such as breakfast supply, bread, condiments etc. is a great touch. She was very approachable and easy to contact. She’s given me plenty of inspiration about home design. We had such a cosy and relaxing stay at The Nook. The hot tub was a treat, but what truly made it special was the cinema room—we spent our evenings introducing our kids to our favourite films, and it was such a lovely way to bond as a family. The whole place was full of thoughtful, personal touches that made it feel extra welcoming, and the generous welcome hamper was unlike anything we've ever had before. A perfect little getaway spot—we’d absolutely love to return!

The cottage was lovely. Well equipped kitchen. Spacious and warm. The real selling point for us though were all of the activities available on site. More than we got value from to be honest and a future stay would be longer. Perfect escape opportunity for a group of families as you have your own space but also plenty of communal areas and lovely grounds. Also not far to Malton. Pretty town and well served by independent shops/cafes as well as supermarkets.

Lovely 1 night stay before a trip to Flamingoland with the family. Great value for money and lovely location. Very homely and cosy and clever use of space.

Another fantastic stay. Really love this place, so handy for great walks, fishing with great shops on your doorstep like the local butchers, bakery, chippys and pet shop. You have to try the cafe, copperfields…it’s amazing!

Kayleigh and Sue were super friendly and made us feel very welcome and at home. This cottage is great for a family get together like ours. We had a family wedding in York and drove in on Saturday but on Sunday we used the park and ride which was perfect. Did some sightseeing in the area and had the cottage to relax at in the evening. Was only staying for 2 nights. But a lovely welcome from Kay and family. Very comfortable. Clean tidy. Parking is hit and miss if you have anything bigger than a car. I had a Vw van 😀. But parking found in the next street, not far away. Lovely location. As it turned out. A member of my family had stayed there previously, and loved it too.

A perfectly equipped cosy cottage for a North Yorkshire stay. Very peaceful, very comfortable and a great private garden too. Lovely towns all around and the awesome Dalby Forest just up the road - perfect for walking & cycling.

Lovely accommodation and very comfortable. Everything was in the cottage that you’d need. Excellent location, could walk to the town in 2 minutes and really lovely wee town. Bus services good to local towns/villages so was good to have some time without driving. Did drive to a lovely seaside village, about 30 minutes drive, called Sandsend. Overall, excellent stay here.

Sunset Cottage is a lovely cottage with amazing views in a very peaceful location. It was spotlessly clean and everything you could need was there . Tony the owner was very friendly and helpful . Nice welcome pack as well . Loved hearing the owls and watching what looked like 2 young ones flying about early in the morning. Would definitely recommend and we will be going back as soon as we can . Thank you Tony for letting us stay .

Emma’s countryside home in Menethorpe, Marlon is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. The location is truly picturesque, with a peaceful stream nearby and horses, sheep, and cows grazing in the surrounding fields. It’s the perfect base to explore the area — York is just a short drive away, and the lovely village of Malton is only 5 minutes down the road, offering great restaurants, shops, and pubs. The house itself is cozy, super safe, and very well furnished, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable family vacation. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully prepared. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Emma was a fantastic host and made sure we had everything we needed. If you’re visiting this part of the country, this is a must-stay. Thank you, Emma — we’re already looking forward to returning!

Emma was a fantastic host and we were really impressed with her proactive approach and communications. The cottage itself was perfect and well equipped and we all really enjoyed our stay. It was an excellent base for us to explore the area and we had a lovely few days away. A real gem.

This was a fantastic property and was crisp and clean. We were only in the area for a day and it more or less suited our needs. The check in was easy and Kate, from the shop, very pleasant. There was a nice breakfast basket waiting for us and it was lovely and warm. The 2 bedrooms and en suites are almost identical - I didn’t find the pillows very comfortable as they were a bit thin. It was disappointing there wasn’t a walk from the door where we could take the dogs as the main road was too busy. Some lovely walks nearby though so I wouldn’t entertain paying the £5 to hire a fenced field, that was offered.

This was our first experience with an air b&b and we were a little unsure as to what to expect. In a nutshell, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The cottage is utterly beautiful both inside and out, it couldn’t have been any cleaner and every time we realised we needed something, there it was - they’ve genuinely thought of everything! It’s so well equipped, from cutlery, to dvds, to toys… even down to little things like plasters! It’s honestly a home from home and the only negative we have is that we had to leave! The onsite pub is nice and where several have thought it expensive, we actually thought it was reasonably priced - especially when children eat for £1 with a paying adult main! Absolutely beautiful place and we will be recommending it to anyone who will listen! Thanks so much for the wonderful memories!

We had a lovely weekend break at primrose cottage! So clean and had everything we needed. The beach and restaurant recommendations from Sam were really helpful! Would definitely recommend this place.

We had a great stay at the cottage. All of the rooms are just like the photos. It was really clean and comfortable. The surrounding area is really well looked after. Just a short walk to the beach, then you can be in Filey in 40 minutes. It was really peaceful and the area offers a tennis court, swimming pool and other activities. Would definitely stay again.
