There is a TV and futon for extra sleeping space. The jewel of the property is the deck running the full length of the cabin with expansive views of the Mighty Mississippi.

The Overlook Cabin

Take it easy at this high end cabin in the woods.The cabin is set in one of the most serene areas of the Northeast Iowa bluffs. You will sit on the deck and be level with the bald eagles soaring down the valley into the Bear Creek. The views from this cabin are next to none. The Cabin offers miles of hiking trails through the woods and down to Bear Creek. There are no neighbors for miles! I have two properties, The Overlook & The Barn loft, the trails connect them!

The Little Red Schoolhouse is located in a remote and serene area of Allamakee County. It is steps away from one of Iowa’s natural trout streams Patterson Creek, the recreational playground of the Upper Iowa River, and over 1,000 acres of wild prairie and woodlands managed by the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation. A $25 fee per person is added for parties larger than 4. Max occupancy is 6 adults/children. The area offers numerous activities: year round fishing, hiking, hunting, snowmobile trails, motorcycle riding, bicycling, wineries, breweries, Amish Bakeries.
