If you are visiting Kerala, this experience is a must! Pradeep's house boat is perfect for a couple looking for private trip. The boat staff was very attentive to all of our needs and served very soul warming homestyle foods. Upon arrival, they served a pomfret fry that was absolutely delicious along with some traditional Kerala vegetarian food. The snack item, tea, and dinner were also delicious. Before dinner, they took us to a small shop where they sold fresh fish, prawns, and crabs. I picked out a mackeral (vanjaram) which was cooked as a snack for beer. Aside from the food, the views and ambiance of the house boat trip was magical. Just imagine an untouched naturescape with bright green farms nearby. Beautiful birds like kingfisher, bea eater, cranes, eagles, just flying about while you relaxedly float along. It was an unforgettable experience! P.S. Apparently, this area has been renovated in recent years and has improved significantly.

The boat was what we had been looking for: a large open living room in the front (not enclosed by windows). The crew was very friendly and could not have been more accommodating and helpful and the food was fantastic and plentiful and varied. We were asked before we set off if we wanted beer and someone set off to get them after we said yes. We stayed two nights, which made for a more relaxed trip - being able to wake up on the boat in the morning and knowing you had a full day ahead of you to just take it easy. The interior of the boat could use some sprucing up. But overall a great stay.

We loved our stay on the Charlotte houseboat. The staff were so kind and helpful, they made us feel right at home! The houseboat was private which was so lovely and we really enjoyed the food. The space was also really comfortable !

This is a must-do experience/stay while visiting Alappuzha, Kerala. I’ve wanted to do this for a while, and choosing this houseboat option was totally worth it.
