First impressions were wow on arrival. We stayed for two nights in Oxen Craig, with our Boxer Dog. The lodge was spacious with plenty room for our dog crate and for him to get around. The lodge was clean and as described. Had all the items we required. The hot tub was pre heated for us arriving which was great as this allowed us to make full use of it when we arrived. We made use of the bbq and the outside seating on the first night although it was colder, we still enjoyed it. We used a local take away for food the second night, this was delivered quickly without any hassle. We walked around the area on both days which was nice. We would highly recommend a stay at Clovenstone Lodges and we will definitely use these again in the future.

Really enjoyed our stay. The location is peaceful and private, and we loved spotting the new lambs and watching the cows. The caravan is well equipped and spacious. Lots of toys/dvd’s available to keep my 4yr old busy. The play park on the site is also really great, and Monika even offered to provide a bike for the pump track. We visited in April and little train was running from the country park into the town. Will definitely visit again as great central location for visiting family.

Great little cottage. Mega comfy beds! Recommend the local "Chipper" although it only opens 4-8pm. Warm and cozy, no drafty windows or anything.

As soon as we saw the views we knew we had to book and we were not disappointed! The views and accommodation are as per photos and we felt right at home! We had everything we needed in the property and in Johnshaven itself! We had a lovely meal at The Anchor Hotel, which we’d recommend, as well as a delicious ice cream at the hidden tea room! We hope to return in the near future!

A genuinely wonderful stay at Mayen Estate, Ross was responsive, informative, and a great host. On arrival we were given a hamper with local goods, and a card for my partners birthday, as well as a bottle of champagne (which was very much enjoyed!). The house was fantastic, squeaky clean when we arrived and beautifully furnished, with plenty of firewood for the twin fires. The grounds at Mayen are spectacular, and I would highly recommend having a walk around all 700 acres, sadly the walled gardens were closed and under renovation when we stayed. Ross provided a full map of local recommendations, as well as connecting us with a taxi company for a visit to a local distillery. The local recommendations were spot on, and really helped to plan the trip. A lovely stay, and we look forward to returning in the future.

we wanted somewhere that we could be together as a family, this house gave us all we were looking for and more, the big kitchen diner was the hub of the home, we used it well, with the little lounge close by for that old man sneak away for 30 winks in peace, house was clean and tidy with plenty of those needed items, laundry, cooking and cleaning. good size rooms spread with bedrooms on 1st and 2nd floors, old man called shotgun on first :-), not because bigger, just less stairs. 2 good size bathrooms, like that 1 had over bath shower whilst the other had walk in shower. location is brill, 2 mins walk down to harbour and along to the very warm and welcoming Harbour bar and chipper with very tasty suppers. this was a great home, not house.. as it felt like a home, in a great location, very friendly. this is def a place to add to your list of pla es to stay

Lovely lodge, pristine and enclosed hot tub/garden area that was just what you want! Nice and safe space for toddlers too. I would highly recommend 😊

We really enjoyed staying with Moya who is a really thoughtful and welcoming host. Thank you for all the lovely food. A very comfy bed and wonderful location.
